NPSS Weibo Q&A (20240831) Part 9
This is a Q&A session held on Weibo. People will tag their questions with the hashtag #南派三叔藏海花在线答疑# (#NPSS Zang Hai Hua Online Q&A#) and NPSS will look through the tag to pick some to answer. The event started at 1500 hours on 2024 August 31st.
Folder with screenshots and big compilation google doc is here. Part 1 is here. Part 2 is here. Part 3 is here. Part 4 is here. Part 5 is here. Part 6 is here. Part 7 is here. Part 8 is here.
1301
Q: Shu, what’s the flower language for the Tibetan Sea Flower? A: The distance of a step. (T/N: this is a proverb meaning something that is very close either in distance or as in close to success.)
1302
Q: If the black spot’s tunnels can go from Inner Mongolia to Mount Kunlun, doesn’t that mean that it’s a good candidate for making train tracks? Could it be that the few key locations have tunnels connecting them? When Xiaoge disappeared during the West Queen, did he go somewhere tens of kilometers away?
A: Uh… That’s not my profession.
1303
Q: Sanshu, Sanshu, I really need to know this. When Hei Xiazi and Xie Yuchen finish their mission and go back to their hotel at night, would they chat and drink wine to unwind?
A: On the way, Hei Xiazi would suggest eating at all the street food stalls but would be rejected every time. In the end, the two of them would buy some bread and make do with sitting by the city’s river.
1304
Q: Why does the Zhangs' names always have to do with seafood? Then why isn’t there a Zhang Cuyu? (T/N: Zhang Vinegar Fish.)
A: Now there is. It’s you.
1304
Q: Does Wu Xie like to eat Chinese bayberries? Would he go up to the hills to harvest bayberry during summer while sightseeing the spring in the hills and then make bayberry wine?
A: He likes them but worries that there’s bugs [inside them].
1304
Q:Sanshu, Sanshu, can you describe Hei Xiazi and Xie Yuchen’s story in Iceland in three characters? A: Insanely crazy. (T/N: this was four characters in chinese.)
1305
Q: I would like to know how Sanshu picks the questions to answer. Do you just scroll and pick whichever that you like?
A: [I pick] the ones that I have answers for at first glance. I won’t answer those that require me to think for half a day.
1305
Q: Lei, why do you say that you want to lose weight every year? But why are you still a little fatty every year? Did you say that you’ll do Pilates? Didn’t you say that you want to act as Wu Xie? How will this work if you lack determination?
A: I walked ten thousand steps at 5am yesterday.
1307
Q: What is Hei Xiazi better at, the violin or the erhu?
A: Violin, but musical instruments are interconnected.
1311
Q: Shu, will we see Zhang Yixing act as Eryue Hong again in this lifetime? The prettiest Honghong.
A: I don’t know. Leave it to fate. I’m very chill. (T/N: the term he used here “佛“ is an internet slang meaning to be unconcerned, let things be like Buddha would. )
1312
#NPSS Zang Hai Hua Online Q&A# A lot of people wanted to know how the paper dolls move around. You’ll understand it after looking at this explanation picture about the Kumuli Snake Disaster from Zang Hai Hua.
Tumblr media
1317
Q: Is it a leader-follower relationship between the big paper doll and the small paper doll? Then why did Wu Xie see the big paper doll eating the small paper doll?
A: Snakes eating snakes.
1319
Q: I can't stop thinking about this: When Wu Xie and the gang are on the road of adventure for so long, would their hair get oily? How do they deal with this? Would they bring shampoo and wash up now and then? A: What’s wrong with Xie oil? Is Xie-oil inauspicious? (T/N: the comments say that there’s a pun here, but I can’t figure out what’s the pun.)
1323
Q: Does Zang Hai Hua’s Zhang Qiling’s muscular body fit your imagination? A: It’s not bad.
1326
Q: Sanshu, Sanshu, when there’s nothing to do around Yucun, would Wu Xie feel like his current life is like a dream?
A: This feeling is very nuanced. A dream is too shallow of a description.
just one update for today! i've gotten a bit lazy with translating today because there are a few long ones in a row... wah wah wah whine whine.

👀💦 thank you for the dehya goodness hnghhhh
alrightie. time to use that list to enable each other's delulu. neuvillette/kaveh + bathing and washing. I just KNOW neuvi will do Things to him in the water.
I am fucking crazy, but I am free. NSFW under the cut
Bathing is a very big deal for both Neuvillette and Kaveh. Kaveh takes serious pride in his appearance and Neuvillette finds it to be a very peaceful, healing experience.
They don't share a bath often, purely because they have drastically different bathing routines. Kaveh has his wall of shampoos, scrubs, and oils that must be applied in a certain order while Neuvillette simply enjoys lying still and soaking for literal hours at a time.
However, there are days when they join each other. Running a large tub full of hot water and filling it with bubbles, Neu slips in first before Kaveh follows.
It never starts out with the intention of being horny. Really, Neu is happy to lather up Kaveh's hair and listen to him prattle on about how shampoo is to be used on the scalp and conditioner is *only* for the ends but no one ever pays attention to that and that's why so many people have oily hai-
Before he knows it, his hand is slipping under the bubbles and gently toying with Kaveh's cock. It always gets a jolt from the blonde who whines and complains about how they're going to get the water all dirty.
That complaint never lasts for long.
Water seems to bend to Neu's will, with long tendrils of water coming around to hold Kaveh's legs in place and to poke and toy with his exposed hole. He's whining and simpering in minutes, looking up at Neu with large teary eyes. Neu tells him to be a good boy and not to cum until they get out of the bath, but they both know he'll never last.
He can never get enough. Kaveh's adorable expressions and needy cries fuel him like gas on a fire. Large, gentle hands are running over the expanse of Kaveh's chest, down his belly, and gripping his firm thighs before coming back to tease his aching cock.
A thick tendril of water forces its way inside of Kaveh, twisting and pulsating, molding to the shape of his insides and worming its way deeper and deeper while Neu plays with his cock, squeezing and toying till Kaveh's poor body is so overstimulated he just can't hold back anymore.
He cums so hard his vision goes white and his body falls limply against Neu's chest. Babbling about dirtying the water and not being able to last longer-
The older man just chuckles, holding him close and peppering kisses over Kaveh's flushed cheeks and down his neck. He's just too precious to not tease, and it warms his heart the wat the blonde snuggles closer to him.

skincare and other nonsense update...
so i use to be using giovanni 50/50 shampoo and conditioner, plus the dove dermaseries. welp, not anymore. the giovanni wasn’t really doing what i wanted with my hair and i’d have to wash my hair all the time or it would just be an oily mess. also the dove, despite every single dermotologist i’ve ever seen sing it’s praises, wasn’t doing my skin any favors either.
after a TON of trial and error on shampoos and conditioners i’ve finally found one that works - the seaweed bath co. hydrating so far does the trick and i can actually go days without needing to wash my hair - w00t!
as for my skin i’m currently using a combination of shea moisture’s coconut milk, and honey +yogurt bodywashes. i’m not a fan of the smell, tg it doesn’t linger. but so far my dry sensitive skin likes it.
i’ve also just started trying this thing where you put toner on your body - neck, arms and legs just like you would your face and then putting lotion on. we’ll see how that goes.
i dunno. i just wanted to word vomit that. having sensitive skin, eczema and psoriasis is a trip. like there are so many things marketed towards those conditions and for me a good chunk of that stuff i’m allergic to or my kids are. oldest also has eczema and sensitive skin. go figure.
as for the kiddos i’m currently using puracy baby shampoo and dove baby wash. though i’m thinking of changing the shampoo for the oldest - i think it may be triggering his hay fever? it’s so hard to find a sensitive shampoo that doesn’t have a ton of questionable ingredients and doesn’t have fragance added to it. like it’s for people with sensitive skin - do NOT add fragance! most are an irritant. gawd.

How often you should wash your stuff!
SHEETS: Once a week
Asthma, Hay fever and Eczema can all be triggered by dust mites which thrive in dirty sheets, Wash at a high temperature to kill all unwanted pests.
Pillows: Every three to six months
Studies have shown that the weight of a pillow will increase over time due to the accumulation of dust mites. Using the gentle cycle on your washing machine, wash two pillows together at the same time, Quickly followed by two rinse cycles followed by one drying cycle.
Jeans: Every four to five wears
Everytime you wash your jeans they will shrink ever so slightly. It is therefore best to wear your denim jeans several times before your wash them but be sure to wash them inside out in cold water . Then simply let them drip dry.
Bras: Every three to four wears
You should never wear the same bra two days in a row, due to the fact that the elastic needs time to reshape. With a proper rotation of a few bras, allowing each one 24 hours to reshape, you should on have to wash them every three to four wears using a regular machine cycle.
Hair: Every other day
Washing your hair every day will strip it of its natural oils, so its best to wash every other day instead. If you do suffer from oily roots, you can use dry shampoo to soak up any unwanted grease.
Windows: Twice a year
Cleaning your windows both inside and out with a squeegee always produces the best results.
Mattress: Every six months
Despite its size the mattress is one of the easiest things to clean in your home. Firstly vacuum the top of the mattress using an upholstery attachment. Then remove any stains by wiping down the surface with a damp cloth and a small amount of upholstery shampoo.
Oven: Every Six Months
Some ovens will clean themselves but if yours doesn't, you can always clean it overnight when you're not using it. To start remove the racks and leave them to soak in warm water. Next spray the interior and door with oven cleaner and leave for a few hours. Then simply wipe clean.
Carpet: Once a Year
When regularly cleaned, carpets can improve the air quality of a room by trapping allergens and dust. A quick vacuum should be followed by a full steam clean to suck up all the dirt.
Purse / Wallet: Every week
Tests have shown that purses and wallets sometimes carry E.coli and other unwanted germs. Alcohol free baby wipes should be used on leather materials and traditional machine or hand washes for cotton.
Washer/Dryer: Every Month
Washers and dryers are known to harbour bacteria such as E.Coli and salmonella. Set the machine to its highest level and hottest temperature. Then add two cups of white vinegar and run through its cycle. Repeat this with half a cup of baking soda and then wipe clearn.
Sink and drain: Every day
The kitchen sink has the second highest concentration of microorganisms in your home. So daily cleaning is highly recommended. To do this spray with disinfectant and wipe down with a damp cloth.
Toilet: Once a Week
Even though we use our toilets daily they can often be overlooked when cleaning time arrives. Use disinfectant spray and a cloth to clean the exterior, and a cleanser on the interior. Let the cleanser sit for ten minutes before scrubbing with the toilet brush to ensure that all the germs are eradicated.
Bath towels: Once a week
As long as you are correctly drying out your bath towels during the day you can wait a week before you wash them. Take care to use half the amount of detergent when washing as too much soap will make them less fluffy. Also wash in warm water and skip the fabric softener.
Refrigerator: Once a week
If you want to ensure that all of your food is stored in a germ free environment care should be taken to keep your refrigerator clean. Usea mixtureof equal parts water and white vinegarto wipe the inside as well as the outside and leave the door open for a short time afterwards to let it dry out
THANK YOU FOR READING MY TIPS !

Active Algae Scalp Cleanser - An Anti-Dandruff Shampoo for Healthy Hair
We all want healthy, strong hair because it makes us look good and feel good. However, a common problem that plagues almost everyone is dandruff. And dandruff should not be taken lightly. Dandruff is the result of a fungal infection of the scalp. If no action is taken, new problems will appear.
Tumblr media
Untreated dandruff can increase hair loss until patches of baldness appear. Dandruff can also cause severe peeling and itching. Dandruff can get on your clothes and cause embarrassment.
But is there a way to say goodbye to dandruff and other hair problems? The answer is yes. Try Active Algae Scalp Cleanser, a professional anti-dandruff shampoo with a proven track record in treating dandruff-related problems. Based on a world-recognized formulation proven effective against the fungus Malassezia, the root cause of dandruff. Its exclusive formula targets the very frequent hair problems (dandruff, itching, hair loss, scaling, and flaking) that almost everyone faces at some point in their lives.
What causes dandruff?
Dandruff is a non-communicable skin condition that can result from excessive production and secretion of oil by the sweat glands in the skin. This may also be due to the reduced secretion of these natural oils, which are responsible for protecting the skin in moderate amounts. Dandruff also occurs when the number of yeast living on the skin increases suddenly and in varying degrees. Areas of the body that have hair follicles can be affected by dandruff, it does not only affects the scalp. Here are some common causes known to cause dandruff in some individuals:
Chronic health conditions
Damp hair for prolonged periods of time
Extremely dry skin
Weak immune system
Poor personal hygiene
Extreme weather conditions
Heredity
Extremely oily skin
Mental stress
Dandruff not only causes embarrassment when in public but also causes many other problems. Let's look at some other problems associated with dandruff.
Itchy scalp
Acne on forehead
Persistent ear eczema
Scalp rash
'Bacne' or back acne
Painful swelling in the chest
Itchy eyebrows
Hair loss
Why do I need Active Algae Scalp Cleanser Anti-Dandruff Shampoo?
Dandruff is caused by a fungal infection of the scalp, but unhealthy lifestyle choices, poor diet, and pollution of air, food, and water can cause dandruff, itchy scalp, hair loss, and brittle hair. While regular anti-dandruff shampoos only wash away visible debris, Scalp Cleanser shampoo for dandruff addresses the root cause of dandruff and alleviates dandruff recurrence.
A professional dandruff solution that contains:
1. Active Algae
The benefits of algae are primarily due to their powerful concentration of omega-3 fatty acids essential for the body's cellular function. This, in turn, improves the flexibility and moisture of the scalp.
Many experts agree that algae are safe to use for all hair types, but are most helpful for those with scalp conditions. Especially people who have fungal problems such as dandruff or who experience irritation and inflammation on the scalp. Due to the algae's ability to balance oil production, it may also benefit people with oily scalp or hair.
2. Green Tea
A 2019 review of existing literature found that green tea's hair health properties include its ability to suppress roughness, reduce sebum production, and inhibit dandruff.
Green tea moisturizes and smooths hair, and tea extract cosmetics are the recommended treatment for people of all genders suffering from androgenetic alopecia.
This is all, in addition to the antioxidant benefits green tea provides along with vitamin C and increased blood flow that may benefit hair follicles.
3. Ginger
Ginger contains vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids that help strengthen hair and is known to increase circulation to the scalp, which is essential for promoting hair growth. The antiseptic properties of ginger are also good for treating dandruff.
Conditioning is essential for healthy hair as well. Provides nourishment and moisture to the hair. Nutrient-rich hair makes your hair healthier and reduces the chances of fungal infections and dandruff. Scalp Cleanser Anti-Dandruff Shampoo contains conditioning properties to protect the scalp and hair from moisture.

My Kingdom for a Coat

Part three of The Thing About Being You
[<< part 2] [WEarp masterlist] [part 4 >>]
Pairing: hollirey (Bobo Del Rey/Doc Holliday)
Tags: Enemies to lovers, slow burn, bodyswap
A/N: Canon is gently ignored for the sake of giving Doc a bigger apartment, Doc is a closeted bi mess
Characters in this chapter: Bobo Del Rey, Doc Holliday, Wynonna Earp, Xavier Dolls
Words: 1200+
Beta readers: @intricatecakes
Read it on AO3
Sunlight felt good on Bobo’s face. It was almost cheesy how nice the ground beneath his feet felt, how comforting the empty air around him was. The revenant took in a deep breath; he felt reborn. He felt free.
Doc started coiling up the rope they had used to pull Bobo out. His eyes kept darting back to Bobo. The revenant knew that if he tried anything there’d be a bullet between his eyes “faster than a fly can blink” as Doc had once said. That was stupid, in Bobo’s opinion. Flies don’t have eyelids, idiot.
“Okay then, let’s go get Peacemaker,” Wynonna told the men.
“Hold on just a damn minute,” Bobo grumbled. “I just got out. I’m not going anywhere like this.” He gestured to himself, his dirt-covered skin, his bloodstained and torn straightjacket.
“Come on, are you kidding me?” Wynonna groaned.
Doc rolled his eyes. “What is it you require your highness?” he asked, sarcasm dripping from his tongue.
“A shower would be nice. A drink, some food, some clean clothes…” Bobo listed. “Maybe my damn coat?!”
“Fine!” Wynonna threw her hands up in the air. It was pointless arguing with Bobo. They had at least gotten this far. “I’ll get your stupid coat. Doc, take him back to your place to get cleaned up.”
Doc started to protest but Wynonna shushed him. “Alright, alright.” He put a hand on her shoulder. “Rest up. We will take care of this first thing tomorrow morning.”
Bobo nodded. “Gun won’t be goin’ anywhere. The Morgans are too prideful to pawn it. Plus they’re-”
“Hoarders,” Doc interrupted. “It’ll be like shootin’ fish in a barrel.”
“More like shooting a needle in a barrel of hay,” Bobo corrected. Doc shot him a glare. “What? They’ve got heaps of magical trash. It could take days to find your Pacemaker.”
“Peacemaker.” Wynonna corrected.
“Gesundheit.”
Doc felt like the chances of him being stabbed in his sleep had increased the second Bobo walked through his front door.
Bobo looked over the blank, pale blue walls. “You should decorate.”
“Since when are you an interior designer?” Doc scoffed.
“Since I walked in here,” Bobo retorted. “The well was homier.”
Doc’s mustache twitched. All the comments about the well really rubbed him the wrong way. Bobo had spend a fraction of the time that Doc had in there. “Could you shut up for a damn minute about that well, for the love of-”
“Toouuchyyy. Sheesh.” Bobo grumbled.
Doc took his coat off and hung it on a mostly empty coat rack. Bobo wasn’t entirely wrong. His small apartment was pretty sparse. He just… didn’t have the time to decorate. That, and he wasn’t exactly used to living in one place for extended periods of time. Back when Doc worked with Wyatt, living situations tended to be moving from inn to inn (or from the home of one lady to another) and then it was on to the next town.
“Bathroom?” Bobo asked, snapping Doc out of his thoughts.
“Down the hall on your right. Refrain from using up my nice shampoo,” Doc told him.
Bobo snorted. “You have ‘nice shampoo’? Really?”
“Oh shut up,” Doc huffed. “I am doing this for Wynonna. Not for you.”
Bobo put a ring covered hand over his chest. “Oh, John Henry, you wound me!”
“Down the hall on your right,” Doc repeated. Bobo rolled his eyes, and then walked off.
“Stupid Bobo and his stupid coat...” Wynonna muttered to herself. “Just get it out of the evidence lockup, yeah that’ll be easy.”
The trade was necessary to get the revenant to actually cooperate with them and not run his mouth. All Wynonna had to do was bring him his ugly ass fur coat. That was easy. The hard part would be keeping Bobo’s presence out of the well a secret from Dolls and the others.
“I should have stayed in bed,” Wynonna grumbled as she walked down the halls of Purgatory’s police station. “But nooo, I thought it would be a nice day for a walk. Who thinks that? What am I, an old lady?”
“Cutest old lady I’ve ever seen,” Dolls told her, suddenly stepping through the door.
Wynonna blinked in surprise, she had been hoping to avoid Xavier. Crap, he couldn’t find out about this. “Aw, I bet you say that to all the gals at the senior home.” Good save.
Xavier smiled. “What are you doing here? It’s your day off.”
“Well, y’know. People like me don’t really get days off,” Wynonna said. “Besides I… wanted to see you.” Not a lie, just avoiding the whole truth.
“You can see me later,” Dolls told Wynonna, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. “I’m off in an hour.”
“Awesome!” Wynonna grinned, hoping it didn’t look too fake. For added measure, she shot him a pair of finger guns. “See you then.”
When Dolls had returned back to his office, Wynonna breathed a sigh of relief and headed towards the evidence room. Nailed it.
Doc didn’t know what was more annoying: the fact that Bobo sang in the shower, or the fact that the walls of Doc’s apartment were thin enough that the gunslinger could hear him.
“Country roooooads, take me hooome-”
Doc was considering taking his pistol and putting himself out of his misery.
“To the plaaace, I beloooong!”
It was almost like Bobo wanted all of Purgatory to know he was back.
“WEST VIRGINIAAA-”
Doc turned the TV on and cranked up the volume. At least Bobo wasn’t a bad singer. Kicking his shoes off, Doc leaned back on the couch and started flipping through the channels. Something called Doctor Who was on, Jeremy had insisted that Doc watch that.
Eventually the singing stopped and the sound of running water died. Honestly, how long did it take that man to shower?
The sound of soft footsteps alerted Doc to Bobo’s presence in the living room. The revenant’s skin was clean, bare chest, arms, and legs exposed. His white-tipped dark hair was far less oily, though a few strands were stuck against his forehead. With just a towel around his waist, a much tidier, still slightly wet Bobo stood awkwardly in the doorway.
“Could I uh…” Bobo swallowed. “Could I borrow some clothes? I was just gonna take them at first but I figured it was better to ask first. Trying that whole ‘niceness’ thing and all.” He raised his hands from his waist to do air quotes and Doc thanked God that the towel was tucked tight enough to stay put.
Holliday couldn’t help but stare. It was like someone had slapped him, punched him in the stomach, and knocked all of the air out of his lungs. “Uhhhh…. y-yeah. Put some- some damn clothes on your body...” He tore his eyes away and stared at the TV, his cheeks burning. “Shirt and pants and all that.”
Bobo smiled. Not his usual devilish grin, but a genuine smile. “Thank you.”
Doc nodded, only looking back at Bobo when the revenant had turned and started walking away. Cheeks growing red again, he looked back at the TV, even though he wasn’t even processing what was happening on screen.
Doc had seen Bobo shirtless before, so why was this time different? How could he even be sure that this reaction was because of Bobo being shirtless? Stop thinking about shirtless Bobo, dammit! Doc told himself, pushing any thought about that man out of his mind. He was probably just stressed and caught off guard, yes that was it... God, he really needed a drink.

Life as a working mom has motivated me to undertake out plenty of beauty hacks for busy moms over the years, and I’ve come up with some quick and dirty beauty tips to form myself look good in less time. Use dry shampoo before bed: most of the people use dry shampoo within the morning, and while that strategy helps take in hair oils, I’ve found it far more effective. Brush and blow-dry: If you would like to stretch your hair wash even further, you'll be got to apply a touch extra dry shampoo once you awaken. provides it a touch of favor together with your hand blower. Embrace the messy bun: I even have friends who can go 3, 4, and sometimes 5 days in between shampoos, but I’m not that lucky. My hair is just too light and shows grease like nobody’s business. the great news is that I’ve mastered the messy bun, which offers a wonderful (and stylish) alternative when dry shampoo just won’t cut it.
How to Hide Gray Hair I recently celebrated my 40th birthday and decided to treat myself to my first set of blonde highlights to cover all of the silver streaks that have haunted residence on my head. But before this momentous event, I had quite a few tricks I wont to hide gray hair which was relatively successful. Here are the three hair hacks I swear by:
Change your hair part: Sounds too easy to be true, I know, but parting your hair on the other side of your head, or embracing a messy part, can sometimes help hide gray hair. I find this strategy also goes an extended way in prolonging a hair cut because it adds a touch of change and helps hide split ends! Touch up with eyeshadow: If you’re thanks to getting your roots dyed but don’t have time to form it to the salon, apply a matte eyeshadow an equivalent shade of your hair to your part employing a makeup brush. Works wonders! Invest during a good touch-up product: If your gray strands and roots are unresponsive to a replacement hair part and/or a touch eyeshadow, consider investing during a good touch-up product. There are tons of great ones out there, but my hairstylist and that I prefer the COLOR WOW Root cover because it adheres to the hair without feeling oily or sticky and it's very natural.
How to Hide Puffy Eyes and Minimize Wrinkles Chronic sleep deprivation and parental worry combined with plenty of tickling and laughter mean one thing: puffy eyes with many wrinkles. Seems pretty unfair, I know, but there are many belongings you can do behind the scenes to form your blinkers look younger.
Apply copra oil before bed: We all know copra oil is sweet for practically everything (right?), and it seems it's anti-aging properties also. Massage a little portion into the world around your eyes to assist reduce the looks of crow’s feet, fine lines, and dark under-eye circles. Reduce puffiness with tea ice cubes: The anti-inflammatory benefits of tea can do wonders for hiding puffy eyes. Simply brew a batch of concentrated tea and pour into cube trays, then wrap a few of frozen cubes with a dish towel and apply to tired, swollen eyes for fast relief. Moisturize before makeup: As an additional safeguard, invest during a good under eye moisturizer and apply it underneath your concealer to scale back swelling, smooth skin, and stop your concealer from getting trapped within the fine lines around your eyes. I swear by La Roche Posay’s Hydraphase Hyaluronic Under Eye Puffiness Cream. Use a hydrating concealer: When it involves hiding under-eye circles and minimizing the looks of wrinkles, not all concealers are created an equivalent. Find a moisture-rich formula like Estee Lauder’s Waterproof Extreme Concealer and gently pat it onto your under-eye area using your annualry for max coverage.
How to Get Beach Waves Fast While beach waves appear as if a fast and straightforward hairstyle for lazy summer afternoons, learning the way to get perfect waves may be a process in and of itself. the great news is that there are plenty of belongings you can do to urge sexy beach waves without the fuss. Here are 3 simple things that have helped transformed my hair during the summer months:
Invest during a good texturizing spray: Contrary to popular belief, the key to sexy beach waves has nothing to try to to with technique. the simplest curling wand within the world won’t be supplying you with perfectly imperfect tousled hair unless you prep your locks with one important product: texturizing spray. Perfect for creating volume and lovely waves that last, a product like Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray may be a game-changer when it involves sexy summer hairstyles. Learn the scarf technique: This no-heat technique leads to gorgeous curls that look professionally done. All you've got to try to do is place a headscarf on your head and twist strands of your hair around the headband. Leave it certain a couple of hours, or maybe better, roll in the hay it like that overnight. inspect the Cosmos Stretchy Cotton Sports Headbands – they’re cheap and cheery and obtain the work done! Try braiding your hair then pressing your flat iron over the top of the braid(s) to hurry up the ‘curling’ process. It’s surprisingly effective!
Nail Hacks Every Girl Should Know There’s nothing like getting to the salon to urge a mani. It’s relaxing, fun, and you get to be pampered and primped, but it’s also time-consuming and expensive, and much of the moms often skip this luxury altogether. the great news is that there are plenty of great nail hacks you'll use to urge an ideal DIY polish application from the comfort of your house.
Prep nails with white distilled vinegar to form polish last: Before you apply your base coat, clean your nails with white distilled vinegar. Not only will it last longer, but your polish also will continue smoother for flawless looking nails. Cover cuticles with Elmer’s Glue: Sounds crazy, I know, but if you apply non-toxic Elmer’s Glue to your cuticles before applying polish, you'll remove all imperfections post-polish to make sure a particular application every single time. Prevent chips by applying an additional topcoat: Before applying your topcoat everywhere your nails, apply a layer just to the ideas for added protection as that’s the part of your nails that tends to chip most. Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Chip-Resistant Top Coat always seems to last the longest with my nails. If you would like your polish to dry super fast, dip your nails in cold water post-polish. It works!
How to Draw Perfect Eyebrows Every Single Time The “in” shape may change, and one year they could be bushier and thicker than others, but one thing is for sure: perfectly shaped eyebrows can make an enormous difference for your face, and everybody has taken notice. inspect these eyebrow hacks for perfectly defined brows!
Get the right eyebrow arch using the spoon trick: If you struggle to draw natural-looking eyebrows, this eyebrow hack is for you. Place the spoon bowl-side down underneath your eyebrows with the tip of the spoon pointing towards your nose, and use the sting of the spoon as a guide to assist draw your eyebrows with an outlined makeup just like the ANASTASIA Beverly Hills Brow Whiz. Genius! Hide imperfections with concealer: If your brows didn’t end up precisely the way you wanted them to, or you’re overdue for an eyebrow wax, you'll hide imperfections with a touch little bit of concealer and a little makeup brush (I find the Sigma Beauty Flat Definer E15 brush works perfectly). I find this method gives away a more defined look, which is ideal for an evening on the town with the women. Make them pop with white liner: If you would like to offer your brows an additional lift, add a touch white eyeliner above and below your brows and blend. Don’t have a white liner, or find it too bright? BENEFIT COSMETICS offers a good better alternative with their High Brow Glow pencil. Smooth unruly eyebrows with Vaseline: if you’re pressed for time and can’t attract your brows, you'll still give them a refined look with a dab of Vaseline followed by an honest comb together with your favorite eyebrow spoolie.
While the daytime smokey eye may be a look many folks would like to sport on the daily, few folks have that sort of your time (or skill). the great news is that there are plenty of eyeshadow hacks you'll use to form your eyes pop with little to no effort. Here are 5 of my favorites:
Prime your eyes: Before you apply eyeshadow or eyeliner to your lids, apply an honest eyeshadow primer (I swear by Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion) for a smoother application and all-day wear. Invest within the right brushes: If you struggle to duplicate all of the eyeshadow looks you see on YouTube, it’s probably because you don’t have the proper brushes. While drugstore brands get the work done, high-end brushes allow better product application and blending for a flawless, professional-looking finish. The Sigma Beauty Basic Eyes Kit may be an excellent spot to start – it's all of the essentials at an honest price! when you’re short on time but still want to seem presentable. Applying white or nude eyeliner to your lower waterline will make your eyes look bigger and more awake. Learn the eyelash curler trick for perfect eyeliner: If you struggle to use eyeliner, Wayne Goss has you covered together with his eyelash curler trick. It takes a touch of practice, but you’ll be happy once you master it!

Best DIY Hair Thickening Mask
Hair masks are great ways to strengthen and add shine to hair, which is especially important if your hair is dry or thinning. However, professional hair masks can be expensive. Luckily, you can make your own DIY hair mask at home with ingredients you probably already have in the kitchen. Whether your hair is dry, thinning or oily, keep reading for a recipe for the best hair mask that you can make at home!
5 Foolproof DIY Hair Mask Recipes
1. For Long-Lasting Moisture: Coconut Oil Hair Mask
Coconut oil has fatty acids that moisturize hair to help prevent breakage, which can help hair look like it’s growing faster. This recipe also uses honey, which is a natural humectant. Translation? It helps to hold moisture in your strands. So the combination of coconut oil plus honey in this DIY hair mask can help boost hydration to parched, damaged strands.
Instructions:
Mix 1 tablespoon of melted extra virgin coconut oil with 1 tablespoon of honey.
Apply evenly to hair from roots to tips, then cover with a shower cap.
Allow the mixture to soak into hair and work its magic for 20 to 30 minutes.
Wash hair with Toppik Hair Building Shampoo, then enjoy softer and more moisturized hair.
Tumblr media
2. For Deep Hydration & Scalp Soothing: Avocado Hair Mask
Avocados are an ideal ingredient for nourishing your hair with much-needed moisture. Why? Because they’re rich in hair-healthy polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids (aka the “good” fats). This DIY hair mask also contains aloe, which has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe the scalp. Both ingredients are excellent sources of vitamins and minerals that nourish hair from the outside in.
Instructions:
In a blender or food processor, mix together 1 ripe avocado with 2 tablespoons of natural aloe vera gel and 1 teaspoon of melted coconut oil.
Apply the mixture from the roots to the tips of your hair and massage into your scalp.
Allow the homemade hair mask to sit on your locks for at least 20 minutes.
Wash hair with shampoo and conditioner, then style as usual.
Tumblr media
3. For Strength & Breakage Prevention: Egg Hair Mask
This egg-based concoction is the best hair mask for preventing breakage. Why? Because the protein found in eggs restores hair’s natural strength by reinforcing its structure.
Instructions:
Combine 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, ½ teaspoon of honey, and 1/2 of a ripe avocado.
Apply to hair and let the mask work its magic for at least 30 minutes.
Wash out with a gentle shampoo like Toppik Hair Building Shampoo.
Tumblr media
4. For Hair Thickening: Lavender & Rosemary DIY Hair Mask
Lavender and rosemary don’t just smell amazing. A scientific study1 showed that daily scalp massages with a mixture of lavender, rosemary and other essential oils can actually help promote hair growth. That’s a pretty strong claim that needs more study. But if you’re looking for healthy-looking hair and scalp on the outside, those results could mean this is just about the best hair thickening mask.
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix together 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil, 5-10 drops of rosemary essential oil, and 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil.
Apply to hair, paying special attention to the roots where hair growth occurs. Massage mask into the scalp.
Allow to sit for at least 45 minutes, then wash out with shampoo. If you have fine hair, you may need to wash hair twice to get all of the oil out.
Use once per week for healthy hair and scalp.
Tumblr media
5. For Moisture & Elasticity: Banana DIY Hair Mask
Dry, brittle hair tends to lack elasticity, which can result in breakage and hair thinning. No thanks! This homemade hair mask uses bananas to restore hair’s elasticity, which makes this our best mask for dry hair. Bananas are rich in natural oils and hair-healthy nutrients, so they can help restore bounce and resilience to dried-out locks.
Instructions:
In a blender, combine 1 ripe banana with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of raw honey.
Apply mixture to damp hair, then cover with plastic wrap and allow to sit for at least 30 minutes.
Use once per week for best moisturizing results.
Tumblr media
An Easier Way to Get Thicker-Looking Hair Now
DIY hair masks can be messy. Plus, it takes time to mix them, apply them to hair, and then wash them out. They’re fun for a night in, but what if you want thicker-looking hair right now?
Try Toppik Hair Building Fibers! Toppik Hair Fibers are statically charged, keratin fibers that cling to your existing hair. Hair looks naturally thicker and fuller—instantly! Toppik Fibers are an excellent way to camouflage fine or thinning hair. Plus, they last until the next time you wash your hair so you don’t need to worry about them coming off.

Belle’s results Before (left) and After (right) using Toppik Fibers
Remember: when making your own beauty and hair care recipes, always do a small skin test first to be sure you’re not sensitive to any of the ingredients before fully applying the mixture to your skin or hair. And of course, if you have known allergies or sensitivities to any of the ingredients, please don’t use them.

Bleaching my hair for the first time
For my whole life I’ve always had very dark hair, courtesy of my half-Italian heritage. While my mother and sister have almost black and quite thin curly hair, mine, through a weird batch of genetics, came out slightly lighter, thick and pretty damn straight. Below is how my hair sat when it was long and I let it air dry.
Tumblr media
While I have experimented in the past with chopping my hair to various lengths, including one attempt at a pixie that my friend adored but I grew to hate, I had never gone to a hairdresser and asked to dye my hair. For a really long time I didn’t understand why people would spend ungodly amounts of money to change their hair colour for a few months… 23 years into having hair, I too came around to the idea that I wanted a change that a normal haircut, even a drastic one, couldn’t give me. I began pinterest boards filled with the length and different colours that I might have wanted to try. Ash blonde to copper to bright red, to ombres of various ridiculous colours. In the end, I walked into the hairdresser wanting copper balayage on the bottom of my hair, keeping my roots natural. Can I just say a massive THANK YOU to the hairdresser that saw me that day. Bless her kind heart, she didn’t do what I thought I wanted. She took the time to talk over my options, consult a senior stylist, and tweak the idea with me. We both, very happily, settled on a blonde balayage with copper tones in it (she was also thrilled that for once she didn’t have a client that hated the word ‘brassy’).
About 4 hours later, which I used to read mostly (though my sister swears by knitting for long hair appointments), I had my new ‘do.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ll say right off the bat that while I loved that the stylist was so happy to discuss what I wanted and what we might be able to achieve, it took a good few days to get used to seeing myself in the mirror. It took a good few days to figure out if I LIKED how it looked. From a hairdressing viewpoint it was done very well, with the blonde melting into the brown, exactly how I wanted it. But it was so new, and so different, that it took a long while for me to make up my mind on how I felt.
After those few days I finally decided that I loved it. It was new, and completely different to anything that I had ever done before, and it was AMAZING. I was a blonde (if you’re being technical, half-brown, half coppery-blonde, BUT STILL). For the next few weeks, and honestly, I still catch myself a month on doing this, I was a giant narcissist. Every time I caught my reflection in something, I stared. No amount of time made this hair less wonderful to me. It was safe to say that I was obsessed. However, new hair that I loved definitely came with a price. I was used to two day hair being oily; I had never needed a moisturising conditioner in my life, and heat-protectent spray was something that gathered dust in my cupboard. I was in for a rude (and kind of expensive) awakening.
I got home with my new hair, and it dawned on me, that I had no clue how to take care of it. So with Google by my side, I read up. And I bought things. Lots of things.
Tumblr media
This mass of things is currently what I’m using and testing to help keep my hair from snapping off or drying out, because, you know, bleach. I thought I’d give you my quick review of some of these things so if you decide to bleach your hair (which, honestly, I kind of recommend because I feel so great about mine), you might be a little bit smarter or more informed about your purchases.  First up, ‘hydrating’ hair-anything is going to be your very best friend. Your hair texture is going to change, big time. I didn’t understand the comment about bleached hair being like hay until I came home with newly bleached hair. It feels really dry and brittle, even if it looks pretty in the mirror. You’re probably going to spend a few days obsessing over how you ruined your hair forever. It’s okay though, things will make it soft and feel semi-normal again.
Secondly, while some hair care products are definitely worth your money, some of them, are really not. I was, and still am, a firm believer in value for money in all things. But, considering my hair was new, and I was out of my depth, I made the poor decision to go into a hair specialist store and fork out lots of money for products that the assistant recommended to me. She was lovely, but I only really like one of the three products that she gave me, each of which were about $30. Currently, I’m in the market for cheap products that I’ll actually love.
A review of the expensive products I bought:
‘Make Protected Spray’ - It’s basically a spray to protect your hair from heat damage from styling or blow drying. In simple terms, I hate it. I’ve had other heat sprays before (my favourite being  ‘ Tresemme Thermal Creations Protective Spray Heat Tamer’), and while this might actually do what it says it does, it leaves my hair feeling very crackly wherever I’ve used it. It does this no matter how much I use (a little or a lot). It’s a bother, and thats one of the primary reasons I only use it when I need to, but because it was so damn expensive you can betcha that I’m going to suffer my way through the whole  bottle.
‘Juuce blonde treatment’ - I saw a lot of purple shampoos and conditioners on the market before I went into the specialist store and walked out with this one. While it didn’t seem like it did too much to my hair, it did make it soft (not as soft as some other things), but still. I’m going to persevere and see how it goes on the long run.
‘Aromas Aroma Oil’ - The Aroma oil is great, you only need a little bit and it smooths out your hair and helps keep away frizz, makes it shiny and has heat protecting properties. I use this most days, on dry hair or damp hair after I’ve washed it.
‘Keratin Complex Shampoo and Conditioner’ - A friend of mine recommended these to me because they were for dry/damaged hair, which mine could officially be classed as. So far, they’ve both been working well for me. At the very least, my hair doesn’t feel worse for using them, so I’m counting them as a win. Hopefully with some long-term use I can decide if it’s actually worth repurchasing or if I’m going to try something else.
The Cheap Hair Products I bought:
‘Batiste Dry Shampoo’ - I have been a fan of Batiste dry shampoo for years, with my long oily brown hair it saved me many mornings when I slept in too long to be able to wash my hair before work. And currently, it’s still saving me. Bleaching your hair requires you to change your washing schedule; I couldn’t wash my hair every two days as I was used to anymore lest I strip it of the natural oils that it so desperately needed. Suddenly, I had to wait 4 days. This dry shampoo is a life saver, and as an added bonus, it smells great and gives my hair a nice volume lift.
‘Dove Intensive Repair Treatment Mask’ - I’ll be honest, this was on sale for 4 dollars, and I was in the market for a hair mask so I bought it. And so far, I kind of love it. I’m crediting this mask for getting my hair back to a somewhat soft texture again. It feels so soft and hydrated right after I use this mask that I think I’m going to keep buying it even if it’s not on sale.
‘L’Oreal Elvive Total Repair Cica Cream’ - I only got this one recently but right after you put this in you won’t be able to stop touching your hair, or smelling it. It feels so soft and light again! Again, it was a steal for only a few dollars, so I really wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I do. It can also be used on wet or dry hair, so I have a feeling I’m going to be reaching for this often.
‘Schwarzkopf Colour Protect and Shine Express-Repair-Conditioner’ - Surprise, surprise, it was on sale for $5 and I bought it. I knew I needed a leave in conditioner, and I thought I’d give it a go. Honestly, I don’t really notice much of a difference with this product. It seems a little smoother and softer, I think, but when it’s so cheap, I’m probably going to keep using it just on the off chance its helping something.
So, that’s currently how I’m going with products with my new blonder hair. I’m also starting to realise why people say they’re addicted to being blonde; a month in and I’m feeling very similarly. If anyone has any hair product recommendations for me, I’d LOVE to hear them. I’m currently umm-ing and ahh-ing over whether I should fork out the money and give some of the Lush hair care products a try (because cruelty-free products sounds lovely to me). Thanks for reading!
