Galaxy, melody, diamond, sun , perfume , parchment ✨
Hiii! First of all sorry for the delay, real life is a mess right now. ^^' Thank you so much for sending some once again, these always make me happy and excited!
Alright, let's do this!
"Galaxy; what fascinates you?"
The sea and sea life! I've been fascined by the sea for as long as I can remember and one of my dream jobs has always been marine biology. It's an interesting relationship, it fascinates me but I am also afraid of it, I have a deep respect for the sea. Sharks are my personal special interest and I love researching about them!
"Melody; favorite artists?"
Sharon Den Adel (and the rest of the band, of course) has always been my favorite artist, Within Temptation is my favorite band and I truly love and appreciate their work and find them very versatile. I have a huge respect for Sharon.
This one may sound like an obvious choice but Vincent Van Gogh's artwork is also really appealing to me, I mainly love how he used colors. He deserved so much better.
"Diamond; favorite color?"
Black and soft blues have always been my favorite colors, both bring me comfort and blues are very relaxing to look at. I prefer muted and soft colors and can't stand neons unless there is black somewhere, which usually makes the contrast at least a bit acceptable for me.
"Sun; favorite season"
Winter, for sure! I hate the heat with all my heart, anything above 22ºC is already hot for me, I also have trouble regulating my body temperature, especially when anxious and since I am a very anxious person 22ºC feels more like 40ºC for me. ^^' Aesthetically speaking I find Winter much more beautiful as well, I'm very fond of rain.
The only thing that makes me feel bad for chosing Winter is the homeless, I feel like this choice of mine comes from a place of privilege.
"Perfume; favorite scent?"
Very interesting question...I have serious problems with smells, I am very sensible to them, I have no idea if this is some sort of a sensory thing, but most strong smells give me a very strong headache, especially when we are talking about perfume, I don't use any because I can't stand any of them, the headache makes me wanna puke, so yeah, it gets really bad. >.<
I truly hate anything with fruit, coconut scent is probably the worse of them for me, it also makes me feel dirty, I don't know why, it's like I am bathing myself with tea or something like that? With everything said...I guess I don't have a favorite scent? I mean, I'd say that the ones I tolerate better are probably soft plant based scents?
"Parchment; favorite book?"
A Song of Ice and Fire is by far my favorite collection, I don't think I exactly have a favorite from this collection but I think I enjoyed A Storm of Swords and A Clash Of Kings a bit more than the rest.

OC Thoughts: Kana (& Osuke)
- Kana likes flowers, too, but not in the same way Reina does; rather than being interested in plants as a whole (with the ones used for food and medicine being their own separate thing), Kana just enjoys how pretty flowers are, and the romantic connotations they can have. She likes their aesthetic, the way they smell, the colors, the different ones that bloom in different seasons - one of her favorite things to do on summer evenings is sit and watch wildflowers in the breeze. Her favorites are daisies, clover, and sunflowers. (She’s always wanted to participate in Hanami, but never got the chance before Hoopa sent her to Hisui.)
- Her Murkrow, Buddy, was her late husband Osuke’s partner. ‘Buddy’ wasn’t his name originally, but Kana kept calling him “little buddy” when he followed her around, and it stuck.
- Unlike Reina, Kana does like to sing. Not as much as Hina, but Kana enjoys humming and singing to herself, or signing little lullabies or soft things to whomever is beside her while she embroiders or watches the sunset. Her (new) voice claim is Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation.
- In addition to making her own sort-of makeup and perfume, Kana loves to embroider while in Hisui. It calms her head and gives her hands something to do while she sits and relaxes - plus it makes pretty things! A lot of her hair accessories are embroidered or knotted, and she’s been known to give them as gifts or to sell or trade them. Her Diamond clan tunic and leggings are embroidered with a jolteon, a gyarados, a murkrow, and a wartortle. She’s working on the rest of her team.
- She’s a strong swimmer and a nimble tree-climber; Osuke was a hunter and a forager, and so taught her how to climb and track and swim and forage.
- Despite the rest of the clan picking at them for it, Kana and Osuke never had any plans for children. They were both very good with children, and they agreed that maybe one day they’d want their own, but it wasn’t high on the priority list.
- Osuke was orphaned at an early age, and while he was raised by the whole clan essentially, he grew up feeling like he didn’t quite belong in any one place. As a result of this and his profession as a forager/hunter, he lived a little ways away from the village and came to visit several times a week. When Kana fell, he took her in and they bonded over feeling like (or being) outsiders. Osuke got some disproving looks, but he told the busybodies to shove off and nothing really ever came of it.
- They’d both known Adaman since he was young. (Younger Adaman had a puppy crush on Kana for about a year.)
- Kana was two years older than Osuke. They knew each other for 5 years as companions after he brought her into the Diamond Clan; then he courted her for a year before they were married. They were together for another 6 years before he was killed in a pokemon attack at the age of 28. The murkrow embroidery on Kana’s leggings is part of a pair that she made; the other one was on Osuke’s tunic. She wanted to keep his and sew it on next to her own so she’d have part of him with her, but she broke down when she realized taking it would mean he wouldn’t have a piece of her; she left it where it was so he wouldn’t be alone. (It’s around 3 or 4 years later that Kana and a certain Pearl Clan warden start dancing around one another.)
Tumblr media
(Made using this Picrew)
- (There’s an AU, thank you Peach! in which a parallel timeline exists where Kana died and Osuke lived. In the AU, the timelines get connected, and Parallel Osuke falls into Kana’s universe, reuniting them. He chooses to go back to present day with her when Akari gets them all sent back home.)
- (Maybe if it’s far enough along, there could even be a linear polycule with Warden Ingo, with both men forming a friendship and Kana having two husbands? Who knows! Haven’t thought that far ahead yet!)

What in the name of fashion are those ugly ass boots doing on those McQueen models 😭😭😭 they look so photoshopped and are just eyesores 😔😔😔
Funnily enough dresses and boots have become a staple in the Alexander McQueen aesthetic for a number of years now. In fact I quite like seeing boots paired with dresses as it highlights that anyone can mix femininity and grunge/edgier vibes together and still look beautiful. I wouldn’t necessarily pair those specific boots with those dresses because the hems are too low for my liking. However you’d be surprised at how popular this look is as quite a few rock/symphonic metal singers I follow are renowned for wearing beautiful dresses matched with combat styled boots on stage. Amy Lee from Evanescence Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation Simone Simons from Epica Charlotte Wessels from Delain Then there’s singers like Tarja Turunen, Floor Jansen and Alissa White Gluz who all tend to lean into pairing corsets and leather jackets with either leggings or shorts as oppose to dresses. Once again though their style highlight’s that you can pair a more feminine look with some combat style boots and still look beautiful. Tarja Turnunen Floor Jansen from Nightwish  Alissa White -Gluz from Arch Enemy Apologies for the long response but I just wanted to bring to light that even though the new Alexander McQueen collection isn’t to everyone’s taste, this look has been around for a long time. Just not always from a mainstream fashion house like McQueen. In fact I find it quite empowering to see women like the singers I’ve spoken about in this post mixing up various looks without feeling like they need to have every ounce of their skin on show. I also hope more fashion designers will start to experiment with different styles again because as much as I love seeing a gorgeous ballgown rocking the runway on Vogue I’m also bored. Fashion has just become too safe lately and a lot of what I see is easily forgettable because it clearly lacks the balls from the designer to push the envelope with their fashion. Whereas designers like Lee McQueen (RIP) and Jean Paul Gaultier (who’s now retired) always gave us fashion lovers something to talk (for quite some time might I add) about every time they debuted a new collection.

The 25 best symphonic metal albums (by Metal Hammer)
24. Sirenia - Riddles, Ruins & Revelations (2021)
Pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a symphonic metal band, Sirenia’s 10th studio album Riddles, Ruins & Revelations embraced the darker side of the human psyche, as themes of addiction and declining mental health took centre stage in this sprawling epic. The Norwegians welcomed huge, melodic death metal elements to an already bustling pallet of gothic synths, infectious grooves and seductive melodies, Sirenia’s duality of melding beautiful music to harrowing subject matter making for a sympho-industrial masterpiece.
20. Delain - Lucidity (2006)
Former Within Temptation keyboardist Martijn Westerholt intended Delain to be a studio project, but his ambitious vision melded cinematic orchestration and bombastic metal into an extravagant gothic symphony too good to be kept locked away. Appearances from previous bandmate Sharon den Adel and then-Nightwish bassist Marko Hietala helped Delain’s credibility, however it was the angelic vocals of (now former) frontwoman Charlotte Wessels that brought the band’s debut album to life. Majestic and heart-sweepingly melodramatic, Lucidity is an essential chef’s kiss of a record. Mwah!
14. Theatre of Tragedy - Velvet Darkness They Fear (1996)
Arguably the most important of the European bands springing up in reaction to the romantic gothic doom innovations of My Dying Bride, this Norwegian septet’s seductive second album was steeped in the spirit of grandiloquent overdrive. Not only one of the first doom bands to employ full-time keyboards, Theatre Of Tragedy pioneered metal’s ‘beauty and the beast’ aesthetic, with duetting angelic/demonic vocals giving fulsome voice to a mournful soundtrack enhanced by the strings of the Streicherensemble Nedeltcho Boiadjiev, under German pianist Klaus Wagenleiter.
10. Epica - The Holographic Principle (2016)
By Epica's seventh studio platter The Holographic Principle, the hardworking Dutch sextet were a well-oiled machine: muscular, confident and keen to ramp up just about every element of their multi-faceted signature sound. More heavenly choirs, more unorthodox ethnic instrumentation, more brutal metal riffs, more of everything – and everything better, from storming killer-robot headbanger Universal Death Squad to the sublime elegiac grace of Once Upon A Nightmare. “You can’t ever reach the ceiling,” notes frontwoman Simone Simons of the album’s densely textured, hyperactive opulence.
6. After Forever - Prison Of Desire (2000)
While many turn to Decipher as the jewel of these Dutch sensualists’ discography, its predecessor, debut Prison Of Desire, not only shined a brighter light on the possibilities for growing orchestration and sumptuousness in metal, it introduced soprano Floor Jansen (current Nightwish vocalist) to the world. Coloured by the wildness of youth, main composer Mark Jansen’s death metal past and the possibility their sound could have fallen flat with the denim’n’leather-clad hordes, Prison Of Desire teemed with rawness and no-holds-barred extravagance.
5. Within Temptation - The Silent Force (2004)
Although you’re likely to be distracted by the captivating strength of Sharon den Adel’s upfront vocal dynamism, Within Temptation’s symphonic aspirations reached their most querulously romantic apex on this goosebump-inducing masterwork of the form. Although the guitars were louder and crunchier than on 2000’s Mother Earth, and the open- hearted pop savvy was at full widescreen pelt, this 2004 follow-up confirmed the band’s special affinity for wizardly orchestral bombast, here performed by the Ego Works Session Orchestra, under the noted Russian conductor Felix Korobov.
3. Nightwish - Endless Forms Most Beautiful (2015)
While the Finnish band were already among the elite of symphonic metal, Endless Forms Most Beautiful really raised the bar for the genre. The concept was based around the evolutionary theories of Richard Dawkins – who even guests on the record – and Charles Darwin, and the scope and expanse of the music matched the ideological ambition. It all came together in a brilliantly realised, fully formed album, with new vocalist Floor Jansen proving a fine addition to the band. Endless Forms Most Beautiful was the sound of Nightwish coming of age.

i was “tagged” by @norationalthoughtrequired!
1. Nickname: in middle school during my peak weeb years, i was Tsuki. people sometimes call me fallyn or fally or fallynleaf on the internet. besides that, i don’t really have a nickname
2. Zodiac sign: i’m a cancer and i was born in the year of the dog
3. Height: 5′3″
4. Hogwarts house: Ravenclaw
5. Last thing I googled: how to plant sprouted onions
6. Favourite musicians: i don’t honestly have many. Florence Welch, Sharon den Adel, and Yo-Yo Ma are a few that immediately come to the top of my head
7. Song stuck in my head: Judas by Fozzy since literally august 31, 2019, thanks to everyone meming the song, and then hearing it at least once a week since october 2. when will it end. i’ve become i’ve become i’m becoming judas in my mind
8. Following now: 175 blogs, the far majority of which are not active anymore
9. Followers: 446
10. Do I get asks: not very often. i’d love to receive more
11. Amount of sleep: generally 7-8 hours on a normal night when i have nothing else going on. if i’m staying up to watch Japanese wrestling, i’m lucky if i get 5-6 hours lol
12. Lucky number: 2
13. Dream job: i want to write books
14. Dream trip: i don’t really enjoy traveling and don’t think it’s that ethical environmentally, so there isn’t really anywhere that i especially want to go
15. Favourite food: savory food: salmon. sweet food: oreo truffles
16. Instruments: i played the violin from fourth-fifth grade, and then the flute from sixth-seventh, before finally quitting music because performing gave me too much anxiety. i never got proficient at either instrument
17. Languages: English, with some Spanish, and an extremely tiny amount of Latin
18. Favourite song: impossible to narrow it down to just one. i wouldn’t even call this one a top favorite, but i’ve been listening to A Horse With No Name covered by Michelle Branch a lot lately
19. Aesthetic: it varies! honestly, my blog description probably sums it up best: all green and idols. i love plants and flowers, but i also love human-created artwork. i tend to be more fond of natural colors than super bright ones, and limited palettes over very colorful ones, and i prefer cool colors to warm colors. i’m extremely not a fan of minimalism. recently, after getting into wrestling, i’ve become a lot more appreciative of image composition and photographs, and how dynamic and otherworldly a good photograph can make wrestling look
20. Hobbies: fiber arts (especially knitting), book arts, writing, and then nerd stuff, basically. i like reading books and comics, playing video games and tabletop RPGs, and watching movies, TV shows, junk on youtube, and professional wrestling
21. Last movie you watched: Emma (2020). it was ok. i feel like it’s a movie that was made to be giffed on tumblr. it didn’t really have much substance beyond that
22. Meaning behind url: i’ve told this story many times before, but when i was in my peak edgy teenager phase, i wanted to call myself something like ~fallen angel~ but didn’t think i was, like, worthy of that caliber of a name, so i went with “fallen leaf” so that i could keep the “fallen” in there but in a way that was a little more mundane and down to earth. i went with “fallyn” instead of “fallen” because my previous username was “whyrlwynd”
23. Top 4 ships: this changes all the time for me. currently, my top ship is Kenny Omega/Kota Ibushi. two very formative ships are Kirk/Spock and Remus Lupin/Sirius Black, and i’ll throw in Xena/Gabrielle as well
24. Currently reading: old Star Trek fics on ksarchive lol
i’m not tagging anyone, but if you want to do this, then pretend that i tagged you!
