Random Video Game Themed Question Prompts - Part 3

Part 3 of my video game prompt thingy! Lately I've been getting more gaming in so I kinda, forgot to finish this up. But I figured, hey, why not? It's Saturday! Let's do some talking about games!! So here we are!

1 - A game that left a lasting impression

Off the top of my head, I immediately want to say Xenoblade Chronicles. I HATED that game's gameplay so bad it pissed me off CRAZY amounts. But the world, characters, story, music, graphics all were so amazing I genuinely couldn't give up on it. And I think about this game constantly. It's filled with really good lines and moments that just stick out to me and I think about constantly. "We choose to live in a world without gods" is in my head 24/7

2 - Favorite Female Character

HOW TO PICK ONE!? Currently my favorite is probably Princess Peach. I have a huge crush on her and a like her a lot. But some of my other favorites are Rouge, Krystal, Freya Crescent, Shazza, Hsien-Ko, Tiki, all the Splatoon idols, Monita, Ema Skye, Milia Rage, Fillia... The list goes on.

3 - So bad it's good

I don't play bad games, if it's good then therefore it isn't bad... Immediately what comes to mind would be Sonic 06. But I think that game is good, and not because it's bad. It's good in spite of being bad, if that makes sense. I might have to come back and tackle this one another time, apologies for the cop out.

4 - Game that hit an emotional spot in your heart

OH MAN, JUST ONE!? There's so many that really hit me, and whenever I recap the plot to someone, STILL make me get really choked up. I still think overall I may have to give up some of my favorite emotional scenes to the first 2 Paper Marios. Particularly the final bosses both have scenes where everyone you meet across the journey makes wishes and that gives Mario the strength he needs to win. Wish of the Princess and We're Counting on you, Mario are both some of my favorite songs from those games and I just LOVE this concept. Love wins. Trust in each other and believing in each other is powerful.

5 - Favorite game developer or studio

Good question. There's a few that I really like that I'd have to put as some of my favorites. I love Arc System Works' stuff. Mistwalker makes some AMAZING games but truth be told I've only played 2 (although Blue Dragon genuinely is one of my all time favorites). Lately I've been thinking about how good Intelligent Systems are. Anything by Siactro is a banger. And I always say Zeboyd Games are some of the best indie devs of all time. There's a lot of good devs out there.

6 - Favorite Male Character

Again how do you just pick one!? Some of my all timers are obviously, the edgy badboys made in a lab. And there's always 4 that immediately come to mind when I think of that. Shadow the Hedgehog, Mewtwo, Zero (particularly from MMZ), and Sol Badguy. They are all absolutely my favorite Male characters and some of my favorite characters EVER even in spite of some rocky times with some of them. Some other guys I love are Zidane, Mario, Bowser, Geno, Metaknight, Solid Snake, Ty, Vivi, I could go on.

8 - A game that not enough people talk about

So I could put a TON of games here. Blue Dragon, Cubivore, endless Indie bangers... But RIGHT NOW. I gotta give it up to Solatorobo cause it's fresh in my mind. Some people have told me about this, but not NEARLY enough people. I think WAY more people should play this game cause it RULES!! And it seems to be not fairly well known? I think this game would do AMAZINGLY with an HD remake. Seriously, more people deserve to get to try it.

9 - Favorite Villain

Gosh, I like a lot of villains. I'm a bit of a protagonist fiend, I'll admit. But I LOVE a good villain. A protagonist wouldn't be much with something to stand up against, right? Immediately the classics come to mind, Bowser and Eggman. You got your wonderful one-offs with stuff like Smithy and Mephiles the Dark. I've been really obsessed with retro RPG villains like The Four Fiends + Garland and the Dragon Lord. But ultimately I think my favorite villain, or at least high up there, is Fawful. I really like Fawful and I still think he's one of the best executed (ha) villains in the Mario series.

10 - Favorite game as a kid

When I was a kid, I really often said Super Mario 64 was my favorite game of all time. Don't get me wrong, I do love that game. But it feels very odd that I said it was my favorite. I think at the time I would certainly give it up to Sunshine, which I had actually beaten and adored. Or even Super Mario World which was my first game ever. Maybe even Animal Crossing. Truth be told though, I probably just wanted to look cool, cause my favorite game was obviously Brawl lol.

11 - 5 favorite video games

But when you hit number 5, then I kind of hit a wall cause there's SO many games I like. Lately I've put Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 there. But Maybe it should go to Starfox 64? Tales of Vesperia? Ty the Tasmanian Tiger? And of course that's without series repeats!! TOO MANY GOOD GAMES!!

12 - A game or series you've never been interested in

Sadly, there's a lot that just never really made me bat an eye. Or there's a lot where I WANTED to like it, but it's just a genre I couldn't get into. I think right out the gate I'd have to give it to Dangan Ronpa. Just not a series that really ever caught my eye in spite of how popular it is. Will I check it out? Probably just because it's so big. But it's not on my radar any time soon.

13 - Favorite NPC or Party Member

OKAY those are 2 VERY different types of characters lmao. Let's see here.

For Party Member there's SO many Party Members I adore from over the years. Just off the top of my head, I'd probably have to give it up to Geno just for my history and love for the character. But there's TONS of good teammates. Admiral Bobbery, Goombella, Mallow, Parakarry, Frog, Robo, Yangus, Jessica, Serena, Barret, Tifa, Red XIII, Kumatora, Vivi, Steiner, Freya, Razzly, Pip, Kidd, Zola, Raine, EVERYONE from Vesperia, Donald and Goofy, everyone from Awakening, all the Pokemon in the world, Rosalyn, and I could keep going! Never enough cool teammates

NPCs? That's actually tougher. I don't recall a ton of NPCs I've met over the years I'll be honest. So I'll just say Fawful from PiT :) But off the top of my head, I really liked this one Toad at Poshley heights in TTYD remake who stands at a fountain and talks about how much she loves walking the same path everyday cause every day is different. She's cute, I like her :) Maybe I'll come back and give a better answer to this one later!

14 - A game that never gets old

There's a few games I can play nonstop and not get tired. I've actually had to put my copy of Smash Ultimate away at times because it was taking up too much of my time when I needed to be working. Or, an example I always give, is Starfox 64 and how I've gone through periods where I replay it EVERY DAY and never get tired of it. Good games!!

15 - A game that everyone should play at least once

This is something I think about a lot. And the answer is Tales of Vesperia. I think Vesperia has a deeply important message that's REALLY crucial to the world RIGHT NOW even more so than when the game launched. I think it is genuinely an amazing little RPG and I think everyone is missing out by not playing it. PLEASE PLAY TALES OF VESPERIA!!

16 - A game that inspires you

Tough to pick just one, there's a lot of games that inspire you. So I may just go with some series that have massively influenced me over the years and still show in pretty much everything I make: Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, Starfox, Guilty Gear, Super Smash Bros, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, and Chrono Trigger :)

17 - Favorite Genre

Do I even have to say it? You know it, everyone knows it. IT'S JRPGS!!! Particularly Turnbased RPGs! They're an AMAZING genre to me that just really sticks with me for a number of reasons. I think video games are an amazing story telling medium and no genre really gives plots, worlds, and characters as amazing as RPGs do. Plus, I just love turnbased RPG combat. Simple as that!

18 - A game you REALLY should've played by now

Oof, I'm sure there's a lot of these too. Right now Super Lesbian Animal RPG kind of immediately comes to mind for this. But I've just been too broke to buy any games since it launched!! But I will play it eventually I promise! There's TONS of games I actually have access to but just haven't played for one reason or another. NEO the World Ends With You, Ni No Kuni, No More Heroes. I could go on.

19 - Favorite Indie you've played recently

Ooh, just recently? Well, I still think Handshakes really stuck out to me for some reason. A really clever and cute little puzzle game and I cannot WAIT for the sequel! I also still really enjoyed Tong Jyun which was just a really interesting visual novel with how it played with the fact you play it on a phone. And of course, I LOVED Super Kiwi 64 : Doomsday! I highly recommend all of those!

20 - A game that truly scared the shit out of you

I DON'T PLAY HORROR GAMES!! THEY'RE TOO FUCKING SCARY! LUIGI'S MANSION MADE ME PISS MYSELF WHEN I WAS YOUNGER LMAO. I did, however, watch my sister play Silent Hill 2 for the first time a while back, and I actually couldn't sleep after watching it lol. Neat game though!

Power Day

Sometimes, I just like to pick up real heavy stuff, but only do it a few times.

5+1 minutes on the elliptical for warm up. Assisted Pull-ups and dips supersets 3 reps x 5 (40-42kg) Squats 5 x 5 (50kg) Dead lifts 4 x 3 (65kg) Bent over rows 5 x 3 (40kg) Bench press 5 x 5 (17.5kg dumbbells) + 1 set just left arm (15kg) cos my left arm needs a little extra work.

I’m trying to up the bench press, but the next dumbbells are 20kg, and I just. Cannot. Might move to doing them with a barbell, to allow for a smaller weight gradient. I just like dumbbells because it gives more of a stability challenge.

Today, the movies in the gym were Avengers: Age of Ultron and Justice League.

AEW All Out Predictions

The sequel to All In is happening on Saturday, and it is a stacked show. I cannot describe how excited I am to watch, and as bummed as I am about the Moxley injury, his replacement still lends itself to an interesting match. The card has a lot of interesting stories from top to bottom, and those that don’t have much of a story should be pretty good matches anyway. I’m really excited, but who will get the wins? Here are my predictions for All Out.

21 Woman Casino Battle Royal for #1 contendership to the AEW Women’s Championship: This is the first of two pre-show matches. The rules are the same as last time. Five Women will start in the ring, and then every few minutes, five more will enter. The twenty first competitor will enter the match last and alone, giving them a distinct advantage. Lots of names have been announced already, such as: Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Allie, Brandi Rhodes, Teal Piper, Ivelisse, Jazz, Big Swole, Sadie Gibbs, Awesome Kong, and Shazza McKenzie. This is pretty exciting, lots of new names and big names on this show. I’m thinking that Britt Baker will get the win, considering how much she has been pushed recently, and how much the Bucks and Cody seem to like her. She won the first official women’s match in AEW, while also participating in the Women’s match at All In, and Fight for the Fallen. While it may seem pretty obvious to pick her, I don’t think AEW will shy away from an obvious choice if it is the right one. Personally though, I will be rooting for Ivelisse. Should be fun, but I’m always skeptical of Battle Royals. 

Angelico & Jack Evans vs. Private Party: The next pre show match pits two up and coming tag teams in AEW. Both teams have impressed me in the past, but I think Private Party will get the win here. The Bucks seem really big on them, and they will need to impress in a big way to get over on the event. Angelico and Jack Evans are also without wins, but I don’t know how prominent their roles in AEW will be early on. Private Party will be big, because the Bucks love them. So they will probably win here, but I expect a good match. 

SoCal Uncensored vs. Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt: This is just sorta a thrown together match, but I’m still looking forward to it. I think that Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt will win, really just to establish them as a strong team. They need to make some names, and for how popular they were at fight for the fallen, none of them have won a match. So they need to look strong. I’m actually looking forward to this match, because SoCal uncensored is great, Jungle Boy is goddamned awesome, Luchasaurus is great, and Marko Stunt is... probably good? I haven’t watched him much. But I’m excited for this. I think it will be really good to great. 

Darby Allin vs. Joey Janela vs. Jimmy Havoc in a Cracker Barrel Clash: I genuinely had no idea that this match had a stipulation on it until I read the wikipedia. it’s a funny way to incorporate product placement. Anyway, this match stems from Fight for the Fallen. These three teamed together in a six man tag against Shawn Spears, MJF and Sammy Guevara. They didn’t work together very well at all, and when they lost, they each blamed each other for the loss and brawled a bunch. So the three way was booked for All Out, and they added the stipulation randomly some other time. I assume it’s a hardcore stipulation considering the people in it. I am thinking that Darby Allin will get the win here, because they have been pushing him in a subtle way. He went to a time limit draw with Cody at Fyter Fest, and then ate the pin in the 6-man tag from Shawn Spears. Considering that he was a catalyst for the feud, I imagine that he will be important in the company. Although I can see any of these guys winning, because none of them have a win under their belt. Should be a fun hardcore match, but I cringe to think about what they will do to each other. 

Kenny Omega vs. Pac: this is simultaneously the most disappointing and possibly most exciting match on the card. It was supposed to by Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley, but Moxley went out with a staph infection last week. So that is disappointing. But then AEW resolved their issues with Pac, so he is coming in instead, which is so exciting. And although there is no story to this, it could easily be the best match of the night. I think Omega is going to win, because even though this is Pac’s debut, Omega has been building up to this match for three months. But this is an exciting match and I think it will be great. 

Cody vs. Shawn Spears: a personal feud that has developed superbly. These two have been friends for years, going back to OVW. However, at Fyter Fest, Spears walloped Cody in the head with a chair shot following his draw against Darby Allin. The story unfolded a bit after that match, with Spears saying that Cody referred to him as a “good hand” after his signing, which irked him. He wants to be remembered as a great wrestler, not just some guy who Cody hired to fill out the roster. At Fight for the Fallen, Shawn Spears pinned Darby Allin in a six man tag, which was a good booking decision. So that match was signed for All Out, with an interesting stipulation. It is a normal singles match, but each guy can only have one person in his corner. Tully Blanchard, Spears’ new manager, is in Spears’ corner, mainly because Blanchard had a lot of success against Dusty Rhodes. We still don’t know who will stay in Cody’s corner, so there is a bit of intrigue going into it. I love this story to death, but I’m a bit skeptical of the match. I think both these guys are really good, but I don’t know if they can pull out a great match. I think good is the best they can do, but I will happily be wrong about that. I think Cody will win this so that he can look strong, and be a trumphant babyface, but I would be perfectly happy to see Spears get the win and go on a tear as a heel. 

Best Friends vs. The Dark Order for a BYE in the AEW World Tag Team Championship tournament: simple booking got us here. At Double or Nothing, Best Friends, Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor, beat Angelico and Jack Evans. After the match, the Dark Order, Evil Uno and Stu Grayson made their debut and attacked everyone. They made a particular show of beating down Best Friends, as they hate them for some reason. At Fyter Fest, Best Friends beat Private Party and SoCal Uncensored (Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian) in a triple threat tag match to qualify for a BYE match at All Out. The Dark Order beat A Boy and His Dinosaur and Angelico & Jack Evans at Fight for the Fallen to also qualify, and here we are. I think that the Dark Order will win here, because they are creepy, dominant heels. I think they win here and maybe even make it to the finals of the tournament, or win. If anyone is going to beat them, it’ll be the Young Bucks. But this should be a good match. Best Friends are great, and the Dark Order seem pretty good too.

Hikaru Shida vs. Riho for #1 contendership to the AEW Women’s Championship: This was a bit thrown together, but should be a good match. I have limitted experience with both of them, but I think Riho will win. Omega really likes her, and I think that she would be a great wrestler to have in the #1 contenders slot opposite Britt Baker, but I don’t think she will win. I wish I knew more about these gals, but I don’t, so I will just move on. 

The Lucha Bros vs. The Young Bucks in a ladder match for the AAA World Tag Team Championships: Ah yes, an eternal rivalry. I don’t think these two teams will ever stop feuding. This all started back in PWG where they constantly fought over those tag belts, but the current story started at the second AEW press conference. The Lucha Bros attacked the Young Bucks, and challenged them for Double or Nothing. The Bucks accepted, and later ambushed them at AAA’s Rey de Reyes, challenging and defeating the Lucha Bros in a match for the AAA World Tag Team Championships. Those belts were put on the line at Double or Nothing, and the Bucks retained. They fought again for the belts at AAA’s Verano de Escándalo, with the Lucha Bros winning the belts back. The teams then clashed in six man tags at both AEW’s Fyter Ffest and AAA’s Triplemania, with Kenny Omega on the Young Bucks’ team and Laredo Kid on the Lucha Bros team, with the Elite winning at the AEW event and the luchadores winning in AAA. After defeating Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky at Fight for the Fallen, the Lucha Bros challenged The Young Bucks to a ladder match at All Out. Later that night, after The Young Bucks defeated The Brotherhood (Cody and Dustin Rhodes), they accepted. The AAA World Tag Team Championships were put on the line once again later on. This has feud ender written all over it. I mean seriously, these teams have fought each other in some way, shape or form at five events this year. We don’t need this many rematches. The stipulation will keep things fresh, but this has to be the end, at least for a while. I think that the Lucha Bros will get the win here, because this is the kind of strong victory they need to cement themselves in AEW, whereas the Bucks have yet to lose. And the Bucks will be protected by the ladder stipulation, they don’t need to eat a pin. However, that doesn’t take away from how goddamn scary this will be. These two teams are gonna kill themselves in this ladder match. I am both worried out of my mind, and incredibly excited for this match. It is the one I’m most excited for, I think it will be great, but I hope no one gets hurt. 

Adam Page vs. Chris Jericho for the inaugural AEW World Championship: This is history in the making folks. The first crowning of a world champion in what is now considered the #2 wrestling company in the world. Big stuff. The story started out simple. Adam Page was the surprise last entrant in the first Casino Battle Royal, last eliminating MJF to win the match at Double or Nothing and qualify for this match. In the main event of the same show, Chris Jericho defeated Kenny Omega, debuting the Judas effect in the process, to qualify as well. From there, Page won two matches: a four way against MJF, Jimmy Havoc and Jungle Boy at Fyter Fest, and a singles match against Kip Sabian at Fight for the Fallen. In contrast, Jericho lost against Kazuchika Okada in New Japan in a match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Dominion, albeit unconvincingly. After Page’s win over Sabian, Jericho attacked Page. Later on, he said that he had to win this World Championship match, because if he lost it would mean the end of the wrestling god known as Chris Jericho. Page then attacked him to return the favor, and was shown to be the underdog. Both guys want this more than anything, but I think that Jericho should win it. He may not be in his prime, but he is still a legend, and if they have a legend holding that belt on their first TV show, then people will be interested. Page is world championship material, this feud has shown that, but just not yet. He will win the belt eventually, but he won’t be the first. I just don’t think he can compete with Jericho’s name value, even if that value is from WWE and WWE affiliates. However, Page could still win considering that he is close with the EVP’s. And it would be a feel good way to end the show, so I could be wrong. This match should be really good if not great, but either way it’ll be a visceral sight to see the first champion crowned.

What happened to all the other townsfolk from Ty 2 during the events of Ty 3? Like Shazza's mum, the emu lady, and such? Also, where did Sheila go? And does Andy the wombat have a story at all? Haha, sorry for all the questions!

Yeah in all honesty background characters who don’t appear don’t really get fleshed out story backgrounds. So I have no idea.

Except for Sheila. You may remember her as the Kola kids’ teacher in TY 1. In TY 2 there’s a whole plotline running in the background where she’s dating Boonie’s dad Merv. (You see him in town.) In TY 4 there was going to be a wedding at the start that we wanted people to think was TY and Shazza, but it was actually going to be Merv and Sheila.

So yeah maybe some of them DO have backstories I guess.

Yo, Krome. So, I was at the end of Ty 3 today and I noticed something--in the cutscene before you go to face the final boss, Sly, Shazza and Fluffy follow and Fluffy and Shazza say their best wishes to Ty. But not Sly...Now given that Sly didn't handle TY's disappearance very well, I wonder if he has some HUGE issues/fears with losing his family; ESPECIALLY Ty. I just wondered if you noticed or think anything similar. :-3c

It is sad now that you put it. Not to be very mean towards Bri and Di, they love their children and they clearly show it in TY 2 and 3, but Sly never seem to approach them during the events of Bush Rescue Establishment and The Quinkan Invasion. He only both approach TY and Shazza for his problems and the only people he regularly talks to. I like to think it is more of a trust issue, possibly around people double his age, since Cass was his father figure and he subtly say about the awful stuff he did during his time with him.

But when he learned about the truth, the only people he trust the most are the first two people who saved his life from further misery with Cass. He was fine with it all, he was willing to do all the dirty stuff without restrictions… But now that he knows his family is alive and well and glad when they knew he was alive, he has to keep it secretive about himself, because if a Laser Bazooka wielding Cassowary has no remorse on evaporating his arch nemesis like that and treat all of his accomplices as nothing more than tools, I think it’s best for him to not let people know what he also did in his time with Cass.

With that said, when a disheveled Sly didn’t give his regards towards his little brother like that, you know he’s gonna be paranoid a lot of things, including jinxing TY. I think he avoid doing that in fear he might lose him again… Lucky for him, it did well for him but at a cost of his colleague; Fluffy. Which is a little more fucked up since she is also part of his life and being a femme fatale herself, she does teases him in some regards, implying they were close back then and still are.

Long-story long; He’s afraid of losing his family, especially his little brother. He finally found love for the first time, but if he say something after those kind of moments, he’ll definitely regret it.

6. Yes we have a lot of deadly animals, no they don't kill people everyday

7. We don't have hugely broad accents. G'day Mate is not pronounced as 'good eye might', it's more like 'Gid ay May-t'

8. A lot of us don't swear just as a lot of us do. It's commonly taught as being wrong in schools.

9. Drop Bears aren't really a thing... It's a tale that is told to kids.

11. Yes we drive on the left side of the road, we're still owned by Britain.

12. Our toilets do flush the opposite way, they have less water in them too.

13.We are influenced by America and England alike, lots of TV shows and stores from the US.

5. Basically our main fast food places are Maccas, KFC, Hungry Jacks (Burger king) and Red Rooster. We recently acquired Taco Bell and Carl’s Jr.

6. Aussie summers get so hot that thongs (flip flops) start to melt.

7. We call Malls Shopping Centres or just Shops.

1. sharon teaches seventh grade science and her classroom is full of weird taxidermy and stuff in jars and bones and stuff because she’s a fuckin weirdo idk. every year there are rumors that she’s a witch, and sometimes she’ll humor the kids by doing weird/witchy stuff just to keep them guessing2. alaska teaches drama across the hall from sharon’s classroom and she pops into sharon’s room a lot because shazza has the nearest printer on the floor (and also alaska’s had an enormous crush on her since she started there)3. sharon thinks alaska is super cute and the students start catching on pretty early. they’re middle schoolers and it’s a liberal state so they don’t think it’s different than any other relationship but they tease sharon about it like “miss needles, do you have a crush on miss thunderrrrrr?” and sharon’ll blush and change the subject4. alaska always hangs out in sharon’s classroom after school ends and they work on their lesson plans. sharon is always flitting around the room checking supplies and videos, she’s really dynamic and bad at sitting still. alaska gets distracted from her grading bc she likes to watch sharon and listen to her ramble about something the kids said in class that day or whatever5. alaska gets roped into playing a role for sharon’s forensics unit, where she makes her students question other teachers for evidence and stuff. alaska was a theatre major so she enjoys her role as a suspect and loves how wide-eyed the kids get when she pretends to threaten to murder sharon too if they don’t find the evidence in time
