The Will of Fire (Part one)
Summary: Sarada is the firstborn of the renewed Uchiha clan. Sure, she is different from the Uchiha who preceded her, but by how much? This story follows Sarada’s life and the trials and tribulations she goes through. (Two shot)
A/N: I really like this one, not gonna lie. Sarada is a great character, it sucks how Boruto really did her dirty. Oh, this is formatted in the same way as “How the Winters Change”. Check that out if you like badass Uchiha women!
Sarada’s first memory was of her father. She remembered seeing Sasuke’s onyx eyes looking at her with pride as she spun around in her burgundy dress, emblazoned with the Uchiha symbol. Sasuke had just gifted her an entire new wardrobe for her birthday with the Uchiwa on each article of clothing. As for the rest of the day, Sarada didn’t remember it as well; it hardly mattered anyway. What mattered was that her father was proud of her, and Sarada would never forget that.
------------------------------
The rosy hues of morning filled Sarada’s bedroom, bathing her bed in a soft light. She opened her eyes and smiled with anticipation since today was her first day of the academy.
Stepping off her bed, she put her red glasses on and moved towards her wardrobe, knowing exactly what she would wear.
You should look formal but not overdressed. Sarada remembered her mother’s words, picking out her white shirt, orange vest, yellow cardigan, and red skirt. After dressing, she observed herself in the mirror, ultimately approving of the look.
“Sarada!” Sakura called from downstairs, “Breakfast’s ready. You don’t want to be late for your first day!”
“Coming Mama!” She replied, skipping out of her room and to the kitchen. A warm plate of eggs, toast, and fruit sat waiting for Sarada at the table.
“I can’t believe my girl has gotten so grown up.” Sakura sighed, squeezing her only daughter, “Eat up sweetie. You want to be well fed so that you can show everyone how great the Uchihas are!”
“Mama,” Sarada started, “if you’re an Uchiha, why aren’t grandma and grandpa? You said that papa’s parents were.”
“I wasn’t born an Uchiha. You see, once I married your papa, I became an Uchiha.”
“Oh, okay mama!” Sarada exclaimed after a moment of thought, “I’m going to go to the Academy now!”
“Have an amazing day.”
“Of course!”
---------------------------------------
Sarada wasn’t surprised when everyone seemed to know who she was. As Mama had often told her, Uchihas are very well known for their strength and intelligence. I have no doubt that you’ll live up to that reputation. Yet again, heeding her mother’s wisdom, Sarada opened the textbook she had just been assigned and began to read it.
“Four-eyes!” A voice called from behind her, breaking her concentration, “You don’t even know what we’re supposed to read. On top of that, studying is boring, why don’t you have some fun?”
Sarada rolled her eyes and turned, ready to snap at whoever had interrupted her reading. Upon turning around, she realized that the obnoxious kid was Boruto. Her family friend and the son of the Hokage.
“Leave me alone Boruto.” She sighed, turning back to the reading.
“Geez Sarada, you’re no fun.” The Uzumaki grumbled before sliding into a seat beside Shikadai.
The door of the classroom slid open as their new sensei walked in. He wore a green jacket and had something that slightly resembled electronic goggles on his face.
“Hello class.” He said, setting his books onto the teacher’s desk, “My name is Shino Aburame, but you can just call me Shino-sensei. That is because I will be teaching you until you graduate. Why don’t we go around the room and introduce ourselves.”
Each of the new Genin gave their name and something they liked to do. Once it was Sarada’s turn, she sat up straighter and adjusted her glasses.
“My name is Sarada Uchiha. I like to train and read.” She announced proudly, making sure everyone heard her speak.
Shino nodded and moved around the class, quickly jotting down each individual answer.
“I am pleased.” He stated, “That is because you seem like an interesting class.”
------------------------------------
Sarada grinned and cracked her knuckles. It was the academy student’s first spar. Previously, the matches had been strictly boys vs boys and girls vs girls, but the rules had been changed to encourage the girls to be stronger. Sarada loved the new rule, since most of the girls were far below her level in taijutsu, leaving only the boys as suitable taijutsu opponents.
“The matches will be picked at random.” Shino announced, “That is because I want everyone to test their skill and not just challenge their friends. The first match will be…” he reached into the straw basket he was carrying, “Wasabi and Denki.”
Sarada recognized Denki as he was the son of the Kaminarimon company owner. The boy looked frankly terrified when he walked into the ring, his knobbly knees shaking in fright. Wasabi, on the other hand, cracked her knuckles confidently and strutted into the ring. Sarada didn’t know much about Wasabi other than her affinity for cats, so she made a note to pay extra attention to her fighting style.
Wasabi bounced lightly on her toes, waiting for the match to begin. The smile on her face suggested that she was confident in her abilities, or perhaps that she was confident in Denki’s lack thereof. Sarada deemed the latter rather messed up, but also highly probable.
“Hajime!” Shino started the match, leaping out of the ring.
Wasabi decided to take full advantage of Denki’s cowardice and rushed straight in. With an impressive burst of speed, she leapt behind the boy and knocked him clean off his feet. Denki fell unceremoniously to the ground, but still pushed himself up, placing his fists in front of his face for protection. Wasabi gave Denki an uncomfortable (and rather pitying) look before she knocked him to the ground again. Ever persistent, Denki clambered to his feet again, his eyes scrunched shut, anticipating the next blow.
“Let’s call that a match.” Shino interrupted, appearing in between the two, “Wasabi is the winner.”
“Next match…” Sarada prayed for her to be matched with Boruto so that she could beat some sense into him, “Sarada vs Boruto.”
Sarada smiled as her prayers were answered and she stepped into the ring.
“I’m totally gonna win four-eyes!” Boruto announced, raising his fist for emphasis, “I’m gonna kick your ass-ttebasa!”
“You wish baka-Boruto.” Sarada sighed, “You’ll understand how wrong you were after this match is over.”
Sarada breathed deeply, running strategies in her head. She had seen Boruto train before with his father and alone; his style was reckless and he never planned out his moves beforehand. It was his greatest weakness and his greatest strength. Sarada decided that she should fight unpredictability with unpredictability and threw out her previous well-crafted plan.
“Hajime!”
Sarada knew that Boruto would expect for her to test the waters before going straight into the fight since he didn’t know that she had been observing him. Sarada decided to throw him off and start off with a bang.
“Shannaro!” She exclaimed as she shattered the ground with one chakra infused punch.
Boruto’s eyes widened with shock and horror as he was thrown off-balance. Sarada seized the opportunity and pinned him to the ground, holding her fist over his face.
“Told you you’d be wrong dobe.” She teased, accenting the last word.
“The winner of this match is Sarada.” Shino announced, quickly jotting something down on his clipboard.
-----------------------------------------
Sarada walked home fuming. She had just lost a match to Boruto and she couldn’t be more angry. It was all because she hadn’t activated her sharingan yet! When she had voiced her complaints to her mother, Sakura had assured her that most Uchiha’s acquired their sharingan after the academy, but Sarada didn’t stand for it. She didn’t want to be average. If she was average, she’d never be able to totally cream Boruto.
She threw the door of her house open, adding in a little chakra for effect and stormed up to her room.
“Sarada sweetie, what’s wrong?” Sakura asked worriedly, hurrying up the stairs, not even bothering to take her doctor’s coat off.
Sarada slammed her door shut and pulled the old Uchiha scrolls her ever-absent father had apparently left for her. It was in that moment in which she realized what she needed.
“Nothing’s wrong!” She exclaimed, “Not with me at least! What’s wrong is the fact that my father, the only person who can teach me real Uchiha techniques hasn’t been in by life for years! In fact, I don’t even remember what it felt like when he held me! I have no memories of him! Who knows, the pictures of papa could be some random Uchiha man for all I know!”
“Sarada!” Sakura exclaimed, breaking the door off its hinges. She took one look at the ruined door, grimaced, and walked into Sarada’s room. “Your father is off protecting us right now. When he gets back, I’m sure he’ll teach you everything you need to know.” Sakura was careful to not say ‘everything he knows’ since she was more that positive that Sasuke would want to keep many secrets from his daughter.
-----------------------------------------
After much confusion and about a gallon of tears, Sarada finally got to see her papa home again. Now that she knew that Sakura was truly her mother and that Sasuke was a sweet and considerate father, Sarada could be at rest.
“Sakura-anata,” Sasuke called from the living room, “would you like me to make dinner?”
Sasuke got no response.
Sarada grinned happily at the sight of her father calling her mother’s name with such gentle sweetness. “No papa, I think mama’s still at work.” She slid onto the couch next to her father and rested her head on his shoulder.
“Hn.” Sasuke replied with his typical monosyllabic grunt, “Do you want to train?”
Sarada was suddenly giddy with excitement. She had never expected to get to train with her father without suggesting it first. The fact that Sasuke wanted to train with her practically forced her sharingan to activate. “I’d love to!” She exclaimed, leaping off the couch, “I’ll get in my training gear and be down in a few minutes.”
Sasuke grunted in approval again, walking towards the bookshelf to grab a few training scrolls.
Sarada opened her newly-replaced bedroom door with glee and skipped to her dresser. She grabbed her favorite red tunic, cream shorts, and the arm and leg warmers that had been a gift from Hinata.
After dressing at a record speed, she grabbed her kunai and shuriken pouch and sprinted downstairs. Her father was waiting patiently for her at the door, his katana fastened around his hip.
“Let’s go.”
Sarada embraced the clarity of vision she got from her sharingan as she dodged another barrage of kunai. Pivoting gracefully on her heel, she performed her signature shuriken jutsu and aimed the sharp weapons at her father’s supposed position. She grinned when she heard the sharp sound of metal against metal, meaning that Sasuke had finally been forced to draw his katana. Riding on that sudden burst of confidence, she confronted him, aiming a chakra infused punch. Sasuke leaped gracefully out of the way, but Sarada didn’t drop her fist. Instead, she struck the ground right where Sasuke was about to land, causing cracks to spread outwards. As Sarada expected, Sasuke did not lose his balance like Boruto often did; he leaped outside the damaged area with well practiced ease and aimed a kick at Sarada. Still smiling, she ducked under her father’s muscular leg and flipped backwards. Sasuke re-sheathed his katana and gave Sarada a kind smile.
“I am impressed.” He stated, “You use your sharingan well, despite its undeveloped form.”
Sarada’s smile only increased. “Thank you papa!” She replied, wiping sweat off her brow, “I bet mama’s waiting for us.”
“Hn.”
---------------------------------------
Sarada smiled exasperatedly at her teammates. Boruto had gotten into trouble yet again, and Mitsuki had done nothing to stop him. Sure, Sarada was a bit miffed that they had jeopardized their mission, but the look of horror on the escort’s face when she realized Boruto had deeply insulted her father was priceless.
“Our apologies ma’am.” Sarada bowed in front of the woman, trying desperately to stifle laughter, “My teammate did not understand what he was doing. You see, he’s a little…” Sarada leaned closer to the woman, “slow.”
“Sarada!” Boruto whined, “I heard that!”
“It’s okay, you can ignore him.” Sarada assured the client, “Though he may not be intellectually strong, I can assure you that you are in good hands when it comes to protection.”
“He better be top notch!” The woman exclaimed, “I paid good money for this and I would rather not be killed.”
Sarada tried not to yell ‘bullshit’ as the client blew the simple escort mission out of proportion. They were only protecting her from measly robbers and a couple vindictive princesses who were jealous of her wealth.
“You will definitely not be killed.” She said with certainty, “We will make absolutely sure of it.”
She could walk all by herself and not get anything but a good frighten from some of the wild animals. Much less be brutally murdered. Sarada thought.
“Mitsuki,” she started, “Let’s set up camp.”
“I’ll collect the fire wood.” He replied, “Why don’t you catch some dinner?”
“I’m on it. I’ll have Boruto watch the ‘princess’.” She placed irritated emphasis on the last word, shooting a disdainful look at the aforementioned subject.
“Boruto!” She called, scanning the area for a yellow mop of hair.
“What, Sarada-teme?” A voice replied from behind Sarada.
“I need you to watch the client baka-Boruto.”
“Why can’t you do it?” He whined.
“Because I need to catch dinner and my aim and stealth is far better than yours.” She turned dramatically on her heel and marched into the forest, reaching for her kunai.
---------------------------------------
Sarada was practically sprinting home after her mission. When they had delivered the report, Naruto-sama had told Sarada that her parents had to tell her something important.
Sarada was mixed with feelings of anticipation, excitement, and lingering traces of dread.
What if what mama and papa have to tell me is bad? She thought worriedly, leaping from roof to roof. Maybe grandma passed away. Or grandpa? Or maybe it’s something good. Maybe papa’s going to stay here for real. Or maybe mama got a raise? No, she’s already head of the hospital. Her mind was rushing with hypothetical situations and the ways she’d deal with them, but she somehow managed to completely ignore one possibility. Maybe because she was overestimating her parent’s age, or she didn’t think papa wanted to stay for that period of time, but she somehow didn’t think she’d be getting a little sibling.
“Really?!” Sarada exclaimed, not fully processing the full implications of what her mother had just told her.
“Yes.” Sasuke replied confidently, “I will also be staying in Konoha for at least three years now.”
Sarada received another influx of mixed emotions. Sure she was overjoyed that her father was going to stay at home for at least three years, but she still felt a twang of anger and jealousy when she realized that her father was going to actually see her sibling’s childhood when he wasn’t around for her’s.
“Aren’t you excited?” Sakura asked, frowning at Sarada’s detached expression.
“Yeah.” She said half-heartedly, “I’m going to go out and train.”
“But you just got…” Sarada had already left the house before Sakura could say ‘home’.
“What’s up with her?” Sakura asked Sasuke, leaning on his shoulder.
Sasuke wrapped his single arm affectionately around his wife, “It must be a teen thing.”
“Or maybe it’s just the Uchiha moodiness. I was hoping it wasn’t hereditary.” Sakura mock sighed, making her way over to the couch.
“Hn.” Sasuke replied, sitting down next to his wife.
“Now you’re being detached and moody!” Sakura pouted, sticking her bottom lip out, “Am I being too annoying?”
“You know what could make you less annoying?” Sasuke asked suggestively, “If you don’t know, we can talk about it tonight.”
Sakura blushed slightly and gave Sasuke a quick kiss on the cheek. “I love you Sasuke-kun.” She whispered, “I think I’ll take you up on that offer about tonight. Now, I need to make some dinner.”
“Hn.”
----------------------------------
Sarada half stomped to the training grounds, still battling with her emotions. She wanted what was best for her younger sibling, of course she did! But she couldn’t push aside the feelings of jealousy that plagued her mind. She needed someone to talk to. Her mind went first to her teammates. She could speak to Boruto; no, he’d be far too immature and annoying. Mitsuki was also out of the question, as Sarada doubted that he even had an emotional range. She needed to speak to an adult, one that knew how to approach children. Auntie Ino! Her mind lit up as she made her way to the Yamanaka complex.
Her fist hit the door twice before it was quickly opened by a tall, blonde woman.
“Sarada-chan!” Ino exclaimed enthusiastically, “I haven’t seen you for ages, please come in!”
Ino ushered Sarada to the kitchen where she placed a pot of tea and some snacks in front of Sarada.
“If you were hoping to speak to Inojin, I’m afraid you’re out of luck.” She said, sitting across from Sarada.
“Oh, I was hoping to speak to you.” She replied, grabbing a stick of tri-colored dango.
“Perfect! About what? Are there any boys you like?” Ino sipped her tea and straightened her long blonde ponytail.
“No, no, it’s not about boys.” Sarada took a deep breath. “It’s just, I’m going to have a little sibling-”
“Oh yes!” Ino interrupted, “I’ve heard!” She took one look at Sarada’s conflicted face and changed her attitude, “Now you don’t seem all that excited about that. Want to talk about it?”
Sarada nodded, swallowing her dango. “I’m happy that I’ll have a sibling, and I want what’s best for them. It’s just, my papa will be staying and paying so much more attention to him than they did with me. And I know that sounds really selfish, I just struggled for such a long time to get papa to notice and love me, I feel that it’s-it’s not fair.”
“Oh sweetie, your papa always loved you.” Ino said kindly, “Though you may not remember it, he would carry you around with him everywhere before he left for the village. You probably know that Sasuke isn’t particularly simley, but whenever he’d look at you, he’d grin. And it scared us all at first, because we’d never really seen him smile, and we were worried that he’d kill someone or something-oh I’m going off on a tangent! Anyway, I know it may seem like Sasuke loves your sibling more, but I assure you that he was just as happy when you were born. Though I wasn’t there while Sakura was pregnant the first time, I can assure you that you were really loved!”
“Thank you auntie Ino.” Sarada said sincerely, “I know he loved me, but why did he have to leave? Everyone tells me that he had a very important mission to go on, but no mission should be so important that you have to lose contact with your family for ten years!”
“I don’t know if I’m that one to tell you that.” Ino replied apologetically, “I’m sure Sasuke would want to tell you that for himself.”
“That’s what everyone says!” Sarada exclaimed indignantly, “No one tells me, and when I ask my papa he poked me in the forehead and says ‘maybe next time’.”
Ino stifled a laugh, “Here’s one thing I can tell you.” Sarada perked up, “I’m sure you’ve heard of your uncle Itachi.” Sarada nodded, “See, he used to poke your father in the forehead the same way. If fact, right before he died, that’s what he did. It’s your papa’s way of showing deep affection.”
Sarada smiled to herself, “How do you know that auntie Ino?”
“See, right before he left the village about thirteen, fourteen years ago, he poked your mama on the head and promised to take her next time. He did. As for how I know that Itachi did that before he died, Sakura told me.”
“Thank you auntie Ino.” Sarada hugged the kunoichi and began to walk home.
---------------------------------------
“Sarada, you can go see your brother now!” Shizune announced, ushering Sarada into Sakura’s room.
“Sarada, this is Kohei.” Sakura said cradling the baby boy.
Sarada grinned and walked towards her new brother. Sakura let her hold the little bundle and Sarada held him close to her chest.
“Hello Kohei.” She whispered, gazing affectionately at the newborn. “My name is Sarada, and I’m your big sister. I promise to always protect you. No matter what.”
The baby stirred in his blankets, and grabbed onto Sarada’s index finger. Sarada grinned even wider and rocked the baby gently.
Sasuke smiled lightly to himself while holding Sakura’s hand gently. He took in the beautiful image of his two beloved children together and memorized the moment with his sharingan.
“He has pink hair Sasuke.” Sakura muttered chuckling, “You said that the Uchiha genes were dominant, but look at him with his pink hair and green eyes. He’s a mini me.”
“I suppose there are always exceptions.”

On the last day of the year, Sarada woke up earlier than usual. She wanted to train before she had to attend to her commitments with her friends and teammates; that’s why she started the day with a cold shower and putting fresh clothes right after. She went out before either of her parents woke up and she got to the training fields noticing her loneliness. Sarada didn’t mind, this only make her happier. Nobody to bother her, but also nobody to make company. She was used to it by now.
It was a special day after all. It was the last day of the yea.
Probably everybody was in the warmth of their homes, heat fed not only by the fire in the chimneys but also by the feeling of being with someone you love. It was a day to recall memories and pray for the incoming year and Sarada knew that she just… didn’t believe in any of that crap. Her training was more important, her dreams were more important, being fully concentrated was more important. And she did that. She focused on them. Although she knew there was a lot that deserved celebration, the time couldn’t stop for that.
“I knew I would find you here.”
“What do you want, baka Boruto?”
“There’s no need to be rude, Sarada.” A blond-haired boy got by her side, his blue eyes looking at her. She didn’t stop her shuriken training, not even for a moment to look at him. “Why are you training today? We should be having fun.”
“What do you mean?” She stared at him and he blushed, noticing the double meaning of his last statement.
“N-not me and you fun, dattebasa, all of us, I mean, our friends…” Boruto sighed. “What I’m saying is that we should hang out with our friends, that’s all.” He could feel the blush get even redder.
Sarada smirked. “Why not you and me fun?” She winked at him and he felt the cold sweat down his spine.
“Stop messing with me, dattebasa!” Sarada started to laugh and once she stopped, she concentrated on her training again. “You really won’t stop, right?”
“I can’t stop, different of you I have a goal to achieve. I cannot simply stop.” When she was about to throw another shuriken, he held her wrist.
“No, stop.” She turned to look at him. She could feel his touch leaving her wrist and slowly getting into her hand and taking the shuriken, while the other hand removed a strain of hair away from her face. “Not today, Sarada. You need to give peace to yourself. Today is a nice day to do that.” Sarada only nodded, incapable of saying actual words due to his touch. She swallowed hard when his left hand slowly left her hair behind the ear and moved to caress her face, giving up in middle way. She wanted to say that he didn’t need to stop, that she wanted his touch, that she wanted him. But it was the last day of the year, not the “truth” day so she only sighed as both acted as if the floor was suddenly the best thing around. The silence that fell between them said more than they wanted.
Sarada breathed heavily, knowing she was about to regret her decision. “Maybe you’re right.”
“I’m what?” Boruto grinned unconsciously while looking at her again.
“I shouldn’t spend this day here.” She smiled at him.  They looked each other in the eyes for a while and then she proceeded to gather her equipment. Soon they were heading back to the village.
He had both his hands behind his head. Sarada stared him, walking a little behind. They grew up together and she saw his funny face every day, but still she couldn’t deny that he had become even prettier through the years. Every single detail of him made her heart beat faster, and it was getting harder staying by his side without thinking about stuff she didn’t want to. She shook her head.
“Did you come here just to pick me up?”
Boruto tilted his head to the side. “Isn’t that obvious?” Sarada did nothing but smile.
He always cared so much about her and her well-being… Sometimes, before going to sleep, she thought about him and wondered if he was still planning to be by her side and protect her. Deep in her heart she wanted him to do all he promised and more. Sarada was only worried about what more could mean. He was her best friend after all.
“Today is the last day of the year, right? Any new years’ resolution?” Sarada started. They were still relatively distant from the village so she thought she could use the time to talk.
Boruto chuckled. “I guess so. What about yours?”
“What was that chuckle for?” she smirked.
Boruto eyes widened and that did not left unnoticed by the girl. “Nothing, nothing.”
“You’re hiding something. Spit it.” She narrowed her eyes and she pointed him with her index finger.
Boruto couldn’t hide the smirk. Actually, he was not even trying. “I’m not! You are the one hiding something, why don’t you tell me your resolutions?”
“I have none.” She crossed her arms. “But I asked for yours first.”
“What about I tell you mine tonight and you think about yours so you can tell me too?” Boruto turned to face her.
“Why tonight?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Cause we are going out together.” Sarada thought she was going to faint. Her heart was beating fast in her veins and her arms fell on the sides. “What do you say?” He smirked even more if it was possible.
“Out? Are you playing with me?”
“Not at all. I want to go on a date with you.” He stared into her eyes intently. He wanted to know how she truly felt, not what she would say about the limits they should have or so. At that point, Boruto could read her body language like no one else and he was totally ready to use it in his advantage. He also knew she was about to give an excuse to escape the date as always.
“But that’s not how we work. You know how we work.”
“I know, I just think we deserve better than that. You should give us a shot.”
Sarada breathed heavily. She already gave many shots. They were working fine at the way they were at the moment, why changing it? She shook her head and giggled, not believing in his words. She sure wanted to say yes, but at the same time, dating was not for them. Not now, at least. Sarada had a lot to focus on and dating was far from focus, but at the same time, it looked like he really wanted to take them seriously.
She sighed. “Okay, I accept your request. But only because I don’t want us to spend the new years’ start alone and my parents are going to be out of town so it’s you or nothing.”
“I’m happy you said yes.” He gave one of his bright smiles. “And I’m winning from nothing, that’s a good sign.”
Boruto got closer. Sarada didn’t shiver or avoid his touch when he got his arm around her waist and his other hand started to play with her hair. The opposite happened and she hugged him back, relaxing the head against his chest. She took a deep breath, his good smell getting quickly into her head. Did he always smell so good? Since they defined their boundaries that was the first time she felt that she was the one willing to disrespect them. He rested his chin above her head.
“You know you win from most things.”
“Really?” Boruto chuckled. “Then why aren’t we together?”
Sarada sighed. Why weren’t they together? She couldn’t find a way to say this. She wanted to experiment things and achieve her dreams before settling down. It may sound too confident, but she only knew she would settle down with Boruto as soon as they started to get serious. Why the wait then? She couldn’t find a way to say this. Of course, the games they played together were tiring sometimes, but it always paid off when they were together-alone in a dark room doing what they did best as a non-couple. The best part was that she knew there was no need to worry about calling the other day – even though they always did, she didn’t need to – nor having to be romantic on special dates. She didn’t get the hands holding or the title but, what use is possible to get with those? Sarada had what she needed, and Boruto had what he needed. It was supposed to be enough.
Sarada moved a little so she could look at her little problem. They usually didn’t kiss if not when having sex – that was rule number two – but if the dating had become a thing now – which disrespected rule number one – a kiss would not be that bad. They were still in the training grounds, no one was around and he was just so hot. She couldn’t find a reason why not. One look, that was all it took for him to understand what she wanted. Their faces got closer and she closed her eyes. Their lips were brushing nicely against each other and she could feel his smile. It felt like they were going to have their first kiss and even though that was not true, that was how it felt.
“So there you are guys.” They broke apart quickly before their lips met. Mitsuki appeared out of nowhere like, well, Mitsuki. Sarada was hiding her face with both hands and Boruto had a hand resting on his hip, doing his best to avoid facing his teammates. “Am I interrupting something?”
“No.” Sarada answered.
“Yes.” Boruto said.
“Everyone is waiting for you, you’re late.” Mitsuki replied tilting his head to look at Boruto who – Mitsuki was pretty sure – was cussing really low.
Sarada glared at Boruto. “No, Mitsuki, don’t worry. It’s fine. We were going anyway.”
When they started to walk again, Mitsuki thought it was a nice moment to share his thoughts. “I always thought you guys made a nice couple.”
“SHUT UP!” The ‘nice couple’ shouted.
In the last day of the year, after the encounter with her friends Sarada did what Boruto asked her and thought about her new year’s resolutions. She didn’t buy that shit about making promises impossible to keep for one whole year. She decided to make a list of possible things like, help her mother more, drink more water, read at least four nonfictions. Don’t fall in love. You know, possible things. When he knocked on the door, she was prepared. Both mentally and physically.
She opened the door. He knew she was all alone.
“You’re stunning.” He said after a moment of losing his words at the way she dressed.
“You too.” She managed to say without stutter.
“I’m not saying you look stunning now. I mean you’re always stunning.” Sarada felt her cheeks burn but Boruto seemed satisfied by his words and their effect on her.
He handed her a flowers’ bouquet and, well, she wasn’t waiting for that. “You… Thank you.” A smile spread on her face. She opened more the door so he could enter. “I’ll put these on a vase with water. Come in.”
Boruto entered through her door and acted as if it was his house, which was somewhat true nowadays. He was nervous; he’d been planning that for weeks by then. He felt like it was a different day, the last day of the year, so she could give him a chance he never had before. Sarada entered the kitchen and took too long to go back to him. Out of anxious, he started to pace around. The kitchen door opened.  They almost bumped into each other.
Eyes met. Unconscious smile.
A new feeling grew in her heart. Is that how love feels like? She wasn’t ready for that. She wasn’t even sure what that was. She just wanted to kiss him and make the pain in her chest go away – pain probably caused by the distance between them. This was the last day of the year and for once she wished the rules didn’t existed.
“Sarada, we should go now.” His gaze never left hers.
“Yes, we totally should.” She whispered giving a step towards him, who unconsciously mimicked her act making them get closer.
“I’m being serious right now.” Another step and they were only inches apart.
“I know.” One more step and Sarada was feeling his hot breath on her face.
Boruto cautiously guided his hand to the small of her back while her hands started to travel through his chest, intending to get into his shoulder. Sarada was almost raising her body on the tips of her feet only to finally feel how he lips tasted, when there was no needy screaming behind it. She was finally close to find out how he really wanted to kiss her. She needed to know if it was slow and passionate or filled only by desire as she was used to. He made their bodies get closer than she thought it was possible. His other hand slide through her hair and finally, when their lips were - once more - brushing against each other they heard a knock.
“WHAT IS IT NOW?” Both shouted, frustration drawing in their voices.
Sarada rolled her eyes and walked to the door. Himawari looked young and innocent.
“Hello, Sarada, is onii-chan here?”
Sarada smiled. “Yes.” Then she shouted to Boruto informing about the girl’s presence.
Sarada didn’t stay to hear the subject of their talk, her mind far from there, attached in what happened moments before and earlier on the training field. She wondered if that was some kind of sign and they should give up. No, not giving up today.
“Ready? We really should go.” Boruto said, keeping the door open behind him.
“Yes, of course.”
They left the house and walked side by side. Sarada didn’t know to where, but she blindly trusted him so everything was fine. The streets were calmer than expected for such a day, and the couple wasn’t talking much.
“Did you think about your resolutions?”
Sarada giggled. “Maybe.” In that moment, Sarada felt a touch in her hand and she just let their fingers intertwine – getting over with the rule number three. She never felt so good by breaking rules. Boruto smiled at her, his cheeks slightly pink, and she returned the smile, also blushing.
“I thought about it all day, to be honest. But you really want to share? I don’t know about it anymore.”
“It’s your call, I guess.”
Sarada wasn’t aware that holding his hand would mean so much to her. She knew him in every possible way, but all this was still new for them. Almost all rules were broken at that point, but the girl kept trying hard to deny that the fourth and last rule was broke; not today, years ago, even before this rules started. They fell in love and they weren’t supposed to.
The date was a simple deal, to be honest. Boruto knew Sarada too well to mess up with something too fancy or too expensive that she would only pretend to like. After the dinner, they were supposed to meet with their friends to wait for the fireworks as a group. They left the restaurant holding hands, making the empty street echoed their soft voices and giggles. Sarada didn’t care if someone saw them anymore. She wanted them to be a serious deal from now on, no more little games or stupid rules. The girl was aware that the last years of hiding were her fault, and Boruto only did it because it didn’t matter how, he only wanted to be by her side. If following rules and hiding it from everyone were what it took, he’d been ready for it.
“Sarada, how do you feel about me?”
“You’re my best friend.” Sarada said bluntly without even think twice.
“That’s not what I’m asking.” He rolled his eyes breathing heavily.
“You are the best friend I’ve ever had. I don’t want to screw things up.”
He sighed and let the silence hang a minute before speak again. “No, Sarada. You won’t screw anything up. I love you. I’m saying that not as friends.” She stopped mid pace, pretty sure her heart skipped a beat in that exact moment. She forgot how to speak, how to walk, her eyes couldn’t be more widened. He also stopped and faced her, a bit of despair hanging in his voice. “You don’t need to say it back if you don’t want to, it’s okay.”
She tried her best to say something perfectly but it was no use. She stuttered, blushed and could feel her heart beat in her skin. Sarada wasn’t sure if she liked him until then, when he shared his true feelings towards her. Boruto stood, continuously avoiding her gaze. Damn it, rule number four. “I love you.” She smiled. “Yes, I love you. It feels so good saying this.”
Boruto released a breath he didn’t notice he was holding. “I love you.” They looked in each other eyes smiling. “We should go, now. We can’t let people waiting.” Nevertheless, none of them moved. Sarada was lost in his blue eyes as much as Boruto was lost in her black ones.
Sarada smiled and held his hand. “I think we can leave people waiting.”
Boruto smirked while she dragged him. “What are you talking about?”
“My house is empty.”
It didn’t take them long to get there.
That time, none of them had the wish to go slow. They were frustrated by the almost kisses and all they wanted was to finally feel each other in every possible way. Sarada threw her arms around him and Boruto held her with a strong embrace. His smell was intoxicating, his touch addictive and Sarada didn’t want to let go. She’d had to let go enough for the year that didn’t even started yet. The best thing was that she didn’t have to let go anymore. She could stay all night there, together. They kissed reckless and passionately, desire talking higher than any sense of limits. For a moment, they forgot where they were and who could find them. It didn’t matter - the risk was exciting.
That time it felt like it was meant to be, as if they have never did anything before. He pressed her back against the wall and automatically her legs curled around his waist, low moans escaping her throat while he kissed her neck. Why I wasn’t like this before? Raced heartbeats, lungs in need for air, sweat running down their backs.
She would say yes to him a thousand times. No, a million times. Better yet, infinite times.
The fireworks started to burst, and both smiled.
“Happy new year, Sarada.” Boruto said.
“Happy new year.” She answered back.
In the last day of the year, she broke all her laws instead of making new ones.
In the last day of the year, she accepted that she was in love.
In the last day of the year, she knew she was ready to melt into his arms every day from now on.
The last day of the year started like any other day of the year.
The first day of the year began different from any other day of her life.

My Neko~ | Borusara Fic
Last fic of the night~ BTW, I made an ask! Feel free to ask for requests, any ship! :) Open at the time, and maybe forever. Dango Date will not be counted as an official fic, if you’re asking for no reason. Contact Lens will be counted as my first fic, due to Dango Date was written unprofessionally by me. I don’t want it to be so long, and boring. May delete Dango date later. Thank you for all the support from Contact Lens! Enjoy this fic.
Genre: Fluff
Rating: K+
Team 7 was just assigned a new mission.
Something about a cat stamp. Team 7′s sensei, Konohamaru said. ”So, one of us have to become a neko. Which is it? I’m way too tall for being counted as a neko.” “Mmm... I nominate Boruto-kun” Mitsuki said, with a smile on his face. “Eh?!” Boruto said with a slight tint of red on his face. “You’re tiny, and those bangs of yours already look like you can come from nekos” the boy with light blue hair said. “Wha? Don’t tell me that! I nominate Sarada. She has bangs too! Her glasses already look like she’s not human!” the blonde said whilist pointing to the Uchiha girl. “Baka! My glasses look better than those disguisting banana bangs! I'm too cute to be a neko!" "You look too scary.." Boruto mumbled. "Hmm, well Sarada and Boruto both are nominated... But, you always have to have sensei's opinion!" Konohamaru said look too confident, and his hand on his chin. "Well then, Konohamaru-sensei, who is it?" Mitsuki asked. "Sarada. She's my opponent to become hokage, I mean look, if she wants to be hokage, she has to go through this." "Very well, I choose Sarada-san too, your reason is better than my, most definitely" the golden eyed boy said. Boruto had a big smirk on his face. “Who’s the baka now? That’s why I would hate to be hokage” Boruto said while chuckling. “Shush it, Baka-Banana Boruto!” her fists gripped and a light pink tinted her face. <<Hehe, can’t wait to see Sarada all kawaii and girly. She’s never like this, so better take my chance!~>> “Aww, is Sarada acting like a baby again?~” Boruto said with his arms streching to the back of his head. “S..Shannaroo!!!” Sarada shouted out and punched Boruto to space. “Why me..?”
It was the next day, Mitsuki got his backpack for missions. His camera (OTP reasons), some extra dango (for sarada), and some Kaminari Burgers (for boruto).
On Boruto’s side, he got a pocket-mini stuffed animal. And, started walking to his mission meet-up place.
Sarada’s side... However. Oh hohoho.. She grabbed the neko collar and ears. The outfit was too..open... Sure, the rest of team 7 will be wearing neko ears, but not a collar, or this ridiculous outfit. She sighed and decided to wear it. After, she went to meet up with the rest.
“So, I see the outfit was perfect for you.” Mitsuki said, while laughing. Boruto’s eyes widened while staring at Sarada. “Boruto! Stop staring, it’s weird...” Sarada said while looking at the corner of her eye, blushing like cherries. “Eh? Huh? Oh. WAIT WHAT?! I WASN’T STARING!!!” Boruto said with the biggest blush. ”It’s okay to be ashamed, Boruto” Mitsuki said, with a big grin. “Pfft. Whatever, I wasn’t even staring though”  Boruto said while looking away. Team 7 just went to travel to do the mission. The poor boy, he was wayy off task. Sarada got mad and said,”Boruto! Just stay on task, baka!” Sarada said that way too late. A barrel was thrown over to them by Konohamaru, unaware of what was going on. “Sorry if you guys were -”
....
Sarada was on top of Boruto. Poor guy, he was pinned by one of the scariest nekos ever.
Too close. Way too close for comfort. Sarada’s face was so red. More brighter than the sun. Boruto was blushing too. “J-Just stay on task.. Sorry about this.. Baka-Boruto..” Sarada said while avoiding eye contact. Boruto all could hear was
doki..
doki...
doki..
His heart was being ripped out.
“Boruto?” the Uchiha girl said, ignoring the fact she was still pinning him down. “Huh?” Boruto said while blinking twice. “Stay on task of the mission!” “I can’t, even if a cute neko was on top of me still~” he winked at her. “...”
“SHANAROO!” Sarada screamed out blushing. She didn’t punch him, like he expected. She paused, and later was ready to stand up. But right when she was doing so, Boruto grabbed her risk. Pulling it slightly back down. “Stay with meee, my neko~” Boruto said. Suddenly a rose was in his mouth? Where in the hell? Wait what? Sarada was blushing, almost like if she was about to die. “Wait what are you doing we’re on a mi-” Their lips smacked. Oh boy. If Sasuke were here, Boruto would’ve been chidori’d harder than his grandfather being punched in the stomach by his father. “I hope you know we’re still on a mission, fufufu~” Mitsuki said. He snapped a photo with his camera.
OTP!
“I’ll show this to your children, Mitsuki-Uncle style~”
“EH?!” Boruto and Sarada said.
After that mission, Boruto and Sarada were the talk of the village. Boruto heard a knock on the door.
“It must be Sarada!” Boruto said smiling.
He opened the door to an unpleasant face.
“Oh.. Uncle Sasuke!... You’re in the village!...”
Run Boruto.
Run.

A stolen moment
Summary: Sarada is about to go on a two year trip, and Boruto decided that it’s will be too late to tell her the truth about his feelings if he waits for later, so he takes a risk.
He knocked on her window, alerting her that he's arrived.
It just occurred to Boruto that this will probably be the last time in a while he knocks on her window in the middle of the night.
''Hey Bo.'' She greeted as she opened the glass window to let him in, upon setting foot in her unusually clustered room, he noticed the bags half filled with scrolls, weapons and scrolls strew across the floor.
''That sure is a lot of stuff.''
''Well it's a two-year trip Bo, can't exactly grab a duffle bag and go.''
''True that.''
''You  going on your mission now?'' she asked, grabbing the family picture and [utting on top of one of the bags before zipping it up.
''Yeah, I have to go now to get to Kumo by Sunday morning.''
''Ahh, so this is the last time I'll be seeing you for a while huh?'' she asked, reaching up to get her weapons collection from the top shelf, but it was far from her reach, as Sasuke was the one who put it there in the first place.
She was about to jump and grabbed it when a hand reached up and handed it to her.
''Thank you Bo.''
''Sure shorty.''
''Hey don't forget I was taller than you until we reached fifteen.'' She said lightheartedly.
Boruto chuckled, he's going to miss this, to miss her, the girl, no women, has been a constant part of his life since forever, at first she was just someone who was always there when aunt Sakura would visit, then she was his classmate, then teammate, then friend and then something that nobody in his life can replace, and he decided to tell her this, cause at this point it was now or never.
''Could you hand me our picture over there.'' She said, gesturing to the team 7 picture laying by her nightstand.
''I miss those days.'' He said as he handed her the picture, her fingers touched his and it was like he was electricity surged through him.
''I do too.'' She said, looking up at him before she pulled her hand away from his.
'' By the way, congratulations second in command or should I say future eight?'' he said, walking closer towards her.
She smiled up at him and walked closer until they were in close more than hands reach to the other.
''In that case, the captain of anbu should hurry up.''
''I'm working on it, I'm just being careful so I don't end up that old geezer.''
She normally would have scolded him, but she was too happy with her recent promotion to do anything but laugh at him.
He's going to miss that sound so much.
Suddenly not being able to take it any longer, he pulled her towards him, hand in playing with her hair, pushing her head to rest on his chest.
She immediately wrapped her arms around him and it didn't dawn on her until now that the person that's been always there won't be for at least two years.
''Boruto…'' she muttered against his chest, tightening her hold on him.
''I'm going to miss you.'' She confessed.
''I'm going to miss you too.'' He whispered in her ear, leaning his head on her shoulder, the scent of ash and leaves filling his nostrils.
They stayed like that for what must have been more than five minutes, but neither one of them moved, too entranced at the moment to be conscious of time, but Boruto was the one who leaned away first so he can do what he came here to do.
''Sarada,'' he started, fingers still playing with her hair, while his other hand was on her cheek, '' I…need to tell you something.''
He said, eyes interlocking with hers, he tried to convey what he wanted with his eyes, and he thinks she understood by the way she blushed and smiled.
''Say it…''
''I love you.'' He finally said the words he's been wishing to have the courage to say for the last two years.
Sarada didn't show any response for a second, which got Boruto worried, but hos worries faded when her lips turned into a smile, small, somewhat shy smile.
His ears turned red at the sight.
''I…I…'' she tried to say it, but she couldn't because that was just not her way of expressing emotion, so she decided to do it her way, and that's by pulling him down by the collar and locking her lips with his.
Boruto's eyes widened, he couldn't believe she did that, that this is happening, that she actually did that, he expected maybe a hug or something he didn't expect her to be this-
''You're supposed to kiss me back baka.'' She muttered against his lips, which got him back to reality and he did as he was told.
Their lips caressed the other's gently, slowly as if savoring the moment, as their hands roamed the others body and their both getting out of breath, but each trying desperately to prolong this moment as long as they can.
But eventually the need for air took over and they parted, but their bodies were still pressing together neither bearing the idea of letting the other go.
''That's an I love you too, right?'' he asked teasingly.
Sarada giggled a little as she reached up and kissed his cheek.
''How do you have before you absolutely have to leave?'' she asked, looking up at him.
''In about three hours.''
''Then stay here.''
He was planning on getting a little rest before his trip and to pack extra weapons but there was no way he would sacrifice a minute with her.
''You'll sleep here,'' She said, pulling him towards the bed,'' please?''
''But where would you sleep?''
Sarada raised her eyebrow, refusing to believe he was that dumb.
''Ohh, ohh, but wait does that mean…?'' no, no they couldn't, she wouldn't, would she?
''NO, NO, you perv! We'll just sleep!'' she said, lightly punching his shoulder.
''Ohh, if it's like that then yes.'' He said, grabbing her hand and intertwining her fingers with his.
She smiled and pulled him down for another kiss, and Boruto never felt happier he confessed something in his entire life.
.
.
.
''What do you think they are doing up there?'' Sakura asked, moving her face from Sasuke's shoulder to look at him.
''That's something I don't want to think about.''
''Ohh come on, don't be such a prude, and of course they wouldn't go that far, they've just spent four years denying their feelings for each other, they won't directly jump to-''
''Don't say it.''
''Sasuke!''
''Hn.''
''But I'm happy for them, they'll be a good couple, but it's sad they won't see each other often.''
''…''
''Oh come on admit it.''
''What?''
''That you're happy they got together.''
''Hn.'' They were indeed perfect for each other, and he was happy that his daughter has found somebody that loves her as much as she loved him, but he would rather get punched to Suna than admit, which was highly probable.
''You jerk.''
Sasuke smirked, '' go back to sleep Sakura.''
''Not until you admit it!''
''Sakura.''
''Sasuke.''
It seems they won't get any sleep tonight either.

A rumble with death
She was the first of their class, the winner of the chunin tournament, the first one of their batch to get a jonin recommendation from none other than the hokage himself, she was a prodigy among prodigies, her village’s pride, her parents pride and her friends helping hand…
The fact that all of his thoughts were in the past tense sickened him, and he could already hear her comments when he will tell her what were his thoughts.
“You think I’ll leave this world before I achieve my dream? You’re a real idiot Boru-baka.”
His lips stretched upwards a little, but the smile quickly faded as his eyes landed on his half conscious teammate, and his eyes caught her onyx eyes, the light and passion usually in her eyes fading, staring at him as if he wasn’t there.
Her eyes closed a moment later, she was drifting in and out of conscioness.
‘She’s going to be fine, right?.’ He thought, looking away to look at his father who came with him upon hearing the news of his apprentice’s injury during her last mission.
“Don’t worry Boruto, Sakura-chan is with her.” Naruto said, attempting to ease his son’s worry.
Yeah he’s right, there’s no way in hell the women that pumped his father’s heart manually would let her daughter die in her hands.
But a pained shout faltered that belief.
“Sarada!” he heard his aunt’s scream, right after he heard the beeper flatline, signaling that her heart stopped.
“Sarada…” he whispered, as he thought about the man she was protecting words after he finished recounting the tale of what happened.
‘She’s a real brave kid, pretty reckless too, but brave nonetheless.’
He had to idea.
.
.
.
“So how far is Konoha from here kiddo?” the old man, who was previously a Kumo senator asked.
“About an hour if we walk, thirty minutes if we run.” Sarada answered.
“Ahh, I can’t wait to see it again, I haven’t seen it since 16 years ago!”
“That’s before I was even born.”
Sarada sighed, this mission was finally going to be over, she was exhausted, partly because of all the traveling the old man had done, which she had to escort him too and partly because of the back to back missions she’s been taking lately.
'I better slow down, the jonin position ain’t running from me.’ She thought.
The girl fidgeted with the bolt that was in her pocket, it was her teammate’s bolt, the one he would usually wear around his neck, which he gave to her as a wish of luc-
Sarada startled, hand reaching for her sword.
“Kid…” the previous senator said, sensing the danger that was looming around them.
“Stay behind me, and be on your guard.” She ordered before activating her clan’s dojutsu and throwing a handful of shuriken at several spots of the obscure forest they were in.
“That won’t do brat, it’s gonna take a lot more than a few metal toys to take us down.” A man boasted as another laughed.
“Hey, let’s show her how to make using shuriken actually work.”
“If you’re so confident why don’t you come out of your hiding places?!”
A man laughed, “ and where’s the fun in that.”
And then a barrage of shuriken hit them from everywhere,  which prompted Sarada to push the old man to the ground and lean on top of him, effectively guarding him against any harm.
When the barrage of shuriken stopped, she got up, body shaking and blood dripping on the ground, but the sword was still in her hand.
The old man got up and grabbed a stray kunai from the floor, and readying himself to charge at a direction from which the assault came from, but a hand on his arm stopped him.
“Old man Funiki, it is my job to protect you, so please stay behind me.”
“But kid…”’
“Don’t worry, I took an oath to protect you, and I never go back on my word.”
“Ohh that’s so sweet, you done gibber jabbing?” a voice from the woods asked.
Sarada willed her body to stop shaking and she charged her hand with chidori.
“Come on, I’m starting to get bored.” The girl declared, creating a shadow clone to surround Funiki from the other side.
The wind rushed and Sarada took a deep breath.
.
.
.
Boruto felt like he could breathe again when the beeping returned.
He wasn’t the only one relieved his father breathed a sigh of relief, as Sasuke, who arrived earlier from his mission, leaned his head on the wall.
And an hour later, he saw his aunt’s shoulder’s slump as she got her gloves off as she headed towards the door.
Sasuke immediately got up from his chair and went towards his wife, and their eyes met, and then they did that weird thing with their eyes Sarada would always complain about.
His father scoffed loudly, which caught his former teammates attention.
“She’s stable, she suffered injuries to her abdomen and she lost a lot of blood and that’s other than her dangerously low levels of chakra,  and we got close to…but she’s fine now.” Sakura said, unable to say what might have happened if he didn’t make split-second decisions at the right moment.
“Ahh, see Boruto, I told you Boruto you could always trust Sarada’s stubbornness dattebayo!”
“On the note of my daughter’s stubbornness, she was holding this in her hand the whole time, she wouldn’t let it go until she completely lost consciousness,” Sakura said, as she pulled a bolt attached to necklace from her doctor’s coat and handed it to Boruto.
“I see.” He muttered taking the necklace and pocketing it, but he couldn’t help but catch a few specks of blood on the metal.
Sakura took a deep breath as Sasuke got closer to her and reached for her hand.
“Hey Boruto let’s get out of here, Sakura and Sarada need to rest, Maybe you could tell me about why the necklace was with her?huh?” Naruto asked, eyebrows raising suggestively.
“Dad!” he shouted as his dad pushed him gently towards the exit, he went along, but not before taking one last look at unconscious girl still in the operation room.
And as he turned away from the scene, he was pretty sure he caught his shishou pulling his aunt towards him in an embrace.
And then came a sudden urge to do what his uncle just did to Sarada, which was weird, but she was his teammate, and it was normal to want to hug your teammates when they’re injured right?

Friendship
‘‘Sarada.’‘
Sakura called out from her home office.
Normally she would be at the hospital at this time of day,but after receiving an email from Shino about Sarada’s recent behavior and a parent teacher meeting she has to attend next week, she came home early to see what Sarada did.
The girl wasn’t a troublemaker, but she had a sharp tongue, courtesy of Sasuke, and  she wasn’t the most patient kid in the academy.
‘‘Yes mama?’‘ The 8 year old said as her head appeared through the crack in the door, the girl had a very innocent expression on her face,a tell tale sign that she did something.
‘‘Come in I want to talk to you.’‘
‘‘You look kinda busy now how about later?’‘
‘‘No come in.’‘ she said with firmness in her voice that reminded her of her own mother.
‘I should really visit my mother more.’ the pink haired women remarked at the though of how exhausting parenthood is.
The girl gave up on her attempts to run from the confrontation and moved to sit in front of Sakura’s desk.
‘‘So how was school today?’‘
‘‘Great.’‘
‘‘Nothing new?’‘
‘‘Nope.’‘
‘‘Sarada.’‘
‘‘Mama.’‘
‘‘Shino emailed me.’‘
The girls expression fell, all hope of escaping this situation  lost.
‘‘Fine I punched a girl.’‘
‘‘What!? why?’‘ Sakura faintly remembered a girl a little older than Sarada in the hospital with a broken nose.
‘‘She was bullying chou again.’‘
‘‘Who’s chou?’‘
‘‘Chou-chou akimichi, and you always said that I should stand up for my friends so I did.’‘
Sakura felt a swell of pride.
‘‘But chou-chou can defend herself Sarada.’‘
She’s seen the Akimichi, and she wasn’t the type to be fazed by verbal bullying or even physical bullying since that girl was probably the strongest in her class besides Sarada.
‘‘Well she couldn’t,they cornered her, about four girls, they took her lunch and chips, she did try to defend herself, but the girl I punched was holding her back.’’
‘‘Hn.’‘
She was torn between congratulating her daughter or scolding her, cause she knew the feeling of being bullied and of having someone stand up for you.
‘‘what you did was good but maybe next time choose a different approach than breaking the poor girls nose.’‘
‘‘How did you know I-’‘
‘‘Come on Sarada, give some credit,I’m the head of the hospital.’‘
‘‘Hn.’‘
The Uchiha matriach couldn’t help but wonder on her daughter’s new friendship with the Akimichi heiress.
‘‘Since when are you friends with chou-chou?’‘
The girl was pretty much the opposite of Sarada except for the sassy attitude of course.
‘‘I don’t know, she’s always been nice to me.’‘ when none of the other kids spoke to me,she wanted to add, but thought better, since saying that will open a new discussion with her mother on a topic she really didn’t want to talk about.
‘‘You know it’s good to make friends is the academy,me and you’re aunt Ino met there, we used to bicker like kids about the last cookie.’‘ she neglected to mention that  cookie was Sasuke.
‘‘You still do.’‘ the girl deadpanned.
Sakura giggled at her daughters remark.
‘‘Yeah we bicker now more than when we were kids, I think we’re becoming worse than Naruto and you’re father.’‘
Sarada’s bored expression change into an expression of interest.
‘‘Papa and Uncle Naruto used to bicker a lot?’‘
‘‘Yeah they make the smallest thing into an argument.’‘
Sakura often hesitated to talk to the girl about her father, just so her longing to meet him wouldn’t increase.
‘‘Are Papa and uncle friends?’‘
‘‘Yeah, best friends, like me and auntie Ino, just a lot more rude and childish.’‘
Sarada was about to ask another question when the phone on her mothers desk rang.
‘‘I don’t mind,hold on I’ll ask her.’‘
‘‘Hey honey, Chou-chou wants to invite you for dinner as thanks for what you did today,do you want to go.’‘
‘‘Yeah.’‘ the girl responded immediately, excited at the prospect of seeing her friend.
‘‘Then she’ll be right over.’‘
Sarada got up from her chair and headed towards the door.
‘‘Be back by eight!’‘
‘‘Yes mama.’‘ the girl said as she ran out of the house.
Sakura smiled as she talked to the man that was standing outside her office window for the last hour.
‘‘It’s good that she’s making friends, and I was starting to think that she was too much like you.’‘
‘‘Hn,I am not childish,as for the dobe...’‘
Sakura laughed at her husband’s attitude towards the current hokage.
‘‘You know he’s hokage now,he can arrest you for saying that.’‘
The tall man scoffed as he entered his house for the first time in about 8 months,it was 8 months since he last came to the village,8 months since he’s last seen his wife.
‘‘I’d like to see him try.’‘
‘‘Don’t you two dare start another fight, cause I swear I will kill you both myself if you’re still alive.’‘
‘‘I love you too honey.’‘ he said in a very unSasuke like tone.
Sakura laughed again before her expression turned serious.
Sasuke could see the pain in his wife’s eyes, he shook his head to answer her unasked question.
He wanted to tell her he was sorry he didn’t find anything yet, that he would search faster, but no words came out as his wife hugged him.
‘‘When was the last time you got a full nights sleep?’‘ he asked noticing the dark circles under her eyes.
Sakura smiled a sheepish smile as she answered.
‘‘About two weeks, the hospital has been busy lately.’‘
‘‘Is Sarada doing well at the academy? other than breaking a girls nose.’‘
A  proud smirk formed on his lips,he hasn’t talked to his daugther in 3 years, since he started his mission, but he could tell that she is a lot like her mother.
‘‘Well, she’s top of her class but Boruto seems to be catching up to her.’‘
‘‘tch,dobe junior.’‘
‘‘You just don’t like him cause he liked to pull you’re hair when he was little, by the way,Sarada  has been calling him annoying lately, she reminds me of a certain handsome tsundere from my childhood.’‘
‘‘Good, someone else thought you were annoying.’‘
‘‘Baka!’‘ she said as she punched  his shoulder.
Sasuke chuckled as his wife pouted.
A dangerous gleam appeared in Sakura’s eyes before she spoke again.
‘‘You know,Sarada won’t be home for at least two hours.’‘ she said as she started backing her husband into a corner.
‘‘What do you propose we do in this time.’‘ he said as he took his cape and sword off.
‘‘Well it’s been 8 months, and I’ve been thinking about this since I noticed you outside the window.’‘
Sasuke flipped her so she was the one with her back on the wall.
‘‘Well then we’ll see what we can do about that.’‘ he whispered in her ear as she started unbuttoning his shirt.
