Been playing gw2 a lot, hence my lack of consistent content, and finally decided to make a ref for one of my fav characters I made! Hydahlla, an Elementalist Sylvari.

Second image is my @plesbian's charr, Sorex. They made a blog for it on the spot though so you can check them out there if you want. I won't be making one though since I don't plan on posting gw2 content all that much but I wanted to show off this coz I really like how she turned out :)

But yeah getting her to lv80 and completing as much of the expansions as possible is what's been keeping me busy the past month or two (or three if you wanna count my first character). Taking a small break from the game though to get myself to draw more, and I AM still working on my comic stuff for the loz au.

I was thinking about perpollo and couldn’t stop laughing at the idea of Percy’s two sides of the family finding out the two of them are A Thing™️.

Poseidon is going to strangle Apollo. Going to hunt him for fucking sport. He’s going to redefine torture. Triton has never been close to his mortal brother but he is more than willing to help.

Sally just sighs and pats her son on the shoulder. He always was far too like her. It’s no wonder that he would hand his fragile human heart over to a god. She had. Still, that doesn’t stop her from reminding Apollo that while she may be a normal mortal there is no wrath like a mother’s.

genuine question if it’s sthg you’re comfortable talking about, bc I’m always curious to hear creators’ thoughts on this kind of thing: why do you put your characters through so much hardship and, relatively speaking, so little healing? like, for example, I know you’ve talked abt Kuri mirroring a lot of your own experiences. I know lots of ppl who make OCs like themselves do it so they can then let their OCs heal/receive kindness/etc. obv Kuri and Aubrey aren’t miserable - they have each other! - but you talk abt AUs where Kuri might get to Actually be herself, vs canon where she stays kinda fucked up forever. I think you mentioned once that she dies kinda young, like in her 60s or sthg? you’re p clear that her life doesn’t get All Better or anything.

so. completely unironically (and def not accusing you of anything, to be super duper clear) - why do you choose to keep your characters’ lives so deeply messy? I think it’s rly interesting, esp in an essentially slice-of-life setting. I always wanna give my beloved OCs good lives lol, and sometimes it’s hard letting them Suffer even though the larger story requires it. but I love hearing abt other ppl’s relationships w their characters!

I took a few days to think about my answer but i couldn’t think of anything more succinct than 1: life can just Be Like That, and 2: Kuri can be happy and fulfilled without an “outsiders” idea of what health happiness and healing looks like
