SHERI (tw: death, alcohol, bullying)

(if you've been following her story, you might already know most of this stuff but since I mostly give out details in the tags, they might have easily been missed + I tend to do a lot of time jumps, so this way, I'll have a way to explain/elaborate on some things so you can have all the info!! anyway enough rambling, here goes)

She grew up in Glimmerbrook in a manor her mother inherited from her own parents (which then went to Sheri). After her mom's death, she moved to Willow Creek (she currently lives there with her fiancé, Griffin… but for how long? 👀) The house is still in her name, it's just abandoned and is considered a haunted house by many (a group of teens probably ventured in there to scare the crap out of each other when no one was looking).

Her father was an author but never got the recognition he (thought he) deserved, ended up drowning his sorrows in alcohol which lead to arguments between him and his wife until he was ultimately kicked out of their house. Although she loved both her parents, he was Sheri's favorite because her mother was always more "distant".

She felt lonely as a kid (at home, at school)/was bullied constantly. She had an imaginary friend who took many a forms and would protect her from those who hurt her/made her sad. Hence her reaction here, she kinda liked having the power to protect herself from her tormentors. Her mother was scared of her especially since as growing up, Sheri embraced her 'new' powers, although she only used them to help those in need. Once she left Glimmerbrook as a young adult, everything went back to "normal" she finally started living her life but kinda kept to herself most of the time because of everything that had happened to her until now.

After HS, she enrolled in the Mortuary Science Program, far from home. Long drives home (to visit her mother who was not doing so well) didn't bother her at all since she loved being on the road/couldn't stay still for more than a couple minutes (still true).

She is a mortuary assistant in the current timeline, but if you've been following from the start (my first posts are in the future, when she goes back to Glimmerbrook (spoiler? not really)) she is actually a mortician (she's the lab's Tru Davies, if you've seen the show Tru Calling / the difference is: she helps the dead but she doesn't relive the day to save them).

She loves art, exercising (riding her bike), travelling, reading in her free time. She's also a great baker, it sort of relaxes her.

Griffin is the first person she's ever been in a relationship with (she was too scared to hurt her partners in the past; she would go on dates and then ghost ppl) They kept running into each other and ended up going on a date, then two, three, and the rest is history. He's a chef. Everything was going smoothly, Sheri was the happiest she's ever been until he moved in/proposed to her...... now she's having nightmares again......

To say Elena was pissed about how Courtney handled their situation in her bedroom. The girl told Monty how she went a three-way with her and some girl named Laura, and that she let Justin finger her. That angered her, right now she is dancing with her boyfriend, Isaiah.

The male hands were at her waist and her hands were on his neck and they were swaying back and forth. They felt a few glances but didn't pay attention.

It was fun for a little while until the trouble started.

The brunette looked over her shoulders to see Monty looking at her and pointing.

“ Issy they are staring at us. Make them stop” Elena whispered in her boyfriend's ear.

She peaks over his shoulders to see Courtney feeling uncomfortable with the boy.

She sighed and felt bad for the girl, she knew the girl was attracted to females and that she was a lesbian.

She could feel Isaiah glaring over her shoulders, she pulled back to see Monty sizing her man up.

Between you and her, Isaiah would crush Montgomery.

Elena Baker pursed her lip and walked over to the table to get a drink. A few minutes later she felt a presence.

“ Go away, whoever you are ”.

“ It's me” A familiar voice speaks.

Looking up she saw her sister Hannah looking at her with a pained facial expression. Pausing from her drink, she frowned at her sister.

“ What's wrong, Han?”.

“ It's Courtney, she is bothering me with all her problems. Actually, do you want to leave early?”.

Elena nodded, she wasn't sure. Since her boyfriend was left alone as she walked over to the table.

She looked to their dance spot to see him gone. With alarm she looked around and didn't see him anywhere.

She began to walk around looking for him, she received some looks but she didn't care.

“ Issy, where are you?”.

Hannah ended up getting in the car with Sheri, she loved the girl really.

She was more likable compared to Jessica Davis, who is always in the center of something.

Elena finally found her boyfriend in the back near the male locker room.

Isaiah's hands were wrapped around Monty's neck, Monty was large and tall. But Isaiah was bigger, more powerful, and more Intimidating.

Immediately she walked over to grab him from behind, Upon feeling her touch.

Isaiah relaxed just slightly.

“ Do not talk about my girl like that. Keep her name out of your mouth” Isaiah roared.

Bryce was circling around her boyfriend, while Zach was trying to hold back.

Just then Jessica comes in with Justin, the two paused when they saw what was going on.

Immediately the two ran over and tried to break it up. But Isaiah was too strong and would not budge.

“ Easy, Love. It's okay, we'll get him next time okay?”.

It took a few seconds for Isaiah to hear what she was saying.

Finally, the taller male lets go, and shoves the smaller male back.

“ Don't let me catch you outside of school, I'm going to break your jaw, little bitch!”.

Elena latches on to Isaiah's arm, and he wraps his arms around her protectively and pulled her smaller body against him.

“ Come on, let us get out of here”.,

The two then leave the locker room, everyone watched them with wide eyes.

A lesson was learned that day.

witches on the road tonight - sheri holman (3/5. really refreshing. felt like there was a lot more that could have happened but maybe i just wanted a different book. very much enjoyed the pieces of this book - characters, setting, pseudo magical shtuff - but altogether it felt lacking.)

the centaur's wife - amanda leduc (3/5. first half was so good! i loved how the fairy tales were interseped and i was so interested in the survival stuff. incredible atmosphere. but then the second part ?? it went a little too far afield for me and it just kept going. the ending kinda came together again a little but it just wasnt the same. huge disappointment unfortunately.)

rivers in the desert - margaret leslie davis (2/5. so funny that even back in 1915 or whatever they were like "whoa even if we completely tapped this water table dry we still wouldn't have enough water for everyone in this godforsaken city 🤔🤔 ah fuck it let's do it anyway !!!!" like. god. get a life. for sure a very interesting look into a neat chapter in california history but it kinda made me hate mr mulholland (i disliked him on principal already tho so meh). rating is for how much i enjoyed it and not necessarily on the reliability/truthfulness. im not well versed enough to talk about that.)
