Hiii, I would reaaaly appreciate it by any chance you could tell me the fic Im trying to find. I have tried and tried 😭 its an InuKag fic, it was a continuation fic I think, Inuyasha and Kagome are already in a relationship and basically engaged/married. Some details I remember:
-Inuyasha had a magic pocket space house, with hot springs where he and Kagome bathed together
-called Kagome Koibito
-the house had some kind of spirits that looked after the house and mended his fire rat robe
-they we’re continually travelling from past to present
-Inuyasha wanted to buy something (I think an engagement ring?) for Kagome, he and the grandpa got together and he would take valuables from his magic house, hide them in the past close to the shrine, then they would try to sell them together
-of the antiques he sold a horse (can’t remember if it was jade or gold or what) and Seshomaru in the present buys it
-they go to Kagomes school, after she graduated, he sayd “no more tiny skirts”
I thiiiink there was like a reunion with Seshomaru and it turned out there were still demons in the present hidden in society, but that could be my memory confusing it with another story.
Longshot and not much info sorry, thank you sooo much
Hello @memeismemeismeme !
Thank you for reaching out to the archive with this unique ask! Unfortunately after a year of searching the team is officially one more failed search away from calling the Paw Patrol to help us search. We hope someone in our community can answer this SHIORI SIGNAL because we would love to see this fic for ourselves.

Basic Instinct Blooper Reel
Masterpost Bonding over both being casual fans of Atarashi Gakko with Kotaro during lunch, you couldn't help but launch into the choreo of Tokyo Calling when waiting in the queue at the Maji Burger. It wasn't long before Kotaro had caught on, and the two of you were wiggling as everyone else just gawked at you. But the two of you were having a blast, and high on the rush neither of you could care are the looks people were giving you. Nebuya didn't really know what to do but he started pumping his fists to some imaginary beat to go along with the vibe as Reo and Akashi just watched on with bemused smiled on their faces.
Akashi stared at his reflection in the mirror. This was the day, the day he was going to ask you to be his girlfriend and he couldn't feel more nervous. He breathed out and he breathed in slowly. Aomine told him he should focus on his reflection and practise his lines. Sure, he had the actual poem already set up in the athletics store, but how on earth was he supposed to greet you? Was he supposed to sound normal, a bit more flirty then usual? Like, how does one greet the girl they are about to ask to be their girlfriend? He looked deeply into his own eyes and trying not to feel weirded out, he ran a hand through his hair and said a suble , "Hello Y/n," that he thought sounded smooth. Keyword being thought, because all of the hairs at the back of his neck were instantly raised. YIKES. Now that was straight horror movie material. Perhaps listening to Aomine wasn't a good plan, he thought, shaking his head as he exited the bathroom.
You were giddily shaking in the bathroom of the expensive restuarant. Now this was the perfect opportunity to release some steam and just be happy you were Akashi's girlfriend and your first date was going over so smoothly! You really needed to screech happily into some paper towels. After you had belted out a few 'yes's that hopefully weren't too loud to make people think you were having sex in the bathroom, you clapped your hands in excitement. You were just bouncing with enthusiasm, so much, you didn't saw that paper towel in the corner. Just as two ladies entered the bathroom, you tried to compose yourself and stepped on the towel. Much to your horror, you slipped and tripped right there, landing disgracefully on your butt with those two ladies watching you. Excusing yourself, you prayed to the heavens these ladies didn't knew Masaomi.
Umemiya considered himself to be a man skilled in the kitchen. Working in the Akashi household for a couple years now, he thought both Akashi and the Kaneshiro clan alike were happy with his service, considering he hadn't been fired yet. He liked the young Akashi, even though he considered the elder one to be a bastard. Which is why he couldn't help but create a simple dish with suasages and mustard. With the mustard, he had written 'I am sorry your dad is a…' Because he couldn't outright call Masaomi a dick, he figured the sausages would signal the message. Considering he had been coped up in his room ever since his father ordered him to break up with you and he needed to have all his energy to escape to the Kaneshiro mansion, Fujioka came to get him some dinner. When Umemiya represented him the dish, Fujioka couldn't help but burst out in a chuckle. "We cannot possibly serve this." "You mean we shouldn't, but its our final day in this place. You shouldn't take it too seriously old man." Fujioka smiled bemused as his own stomach grumbled. "Can the old man munch on a sausage himself then?" "Eat it up, I say! The man has been a downright dick to serve, right?" Fujioka chuckled once more, before he pulled a fork from a kitchen drawer and ate a sausage, thinking to himself how Shiori had the worst taste in men ever.

i know everyone is talking about utena right now but for fucking real. it is obvious that tge person who made that post watched less than half the show... i dont blame them or anything its heavy material and i dont think youre like legally obligated to like or be comfortable with ANYTHING. but like almost every point made is refuted explicitly by the text itself by the end. under a readmore cuz it got long oops
like, first off. the only person sexually abusing anthy in any way is akio. everyone else in the show wants to "win her" in duels because with that comes the power to change the world. in fact anthy in the duelists eyes is reduced to a symbol (inb4 this is criticized by the text.).
second. the character design argument is all a bit silly. utena is the main character of course her outfit stands out. it is still also masculine compared to what she is Supposed to be wearing so the point of it still comes across.
third, in regards to the way the underage girls are treated. i wont say it isnt uncomfortable but it serves a purpose. it isnt in any way meant to be titillating, its in service to the larger theme of patriarchy and how it objectifies and sexualizes young girls. again not saying you have to endure it if it turns you away but personally, saying that because uncomfortable dareisay fucked up content exists, it is a signal of shit writing is reductive.
fourth, calling utenanthy s-class is insane to me bcause utena and anthy literally make out in the film. and by the end of the show itself it is abundantly clear that they are mutually and romantically interested in each other. again this is a product of the poster only watching to episode 14.
fifth. juri is not uniquely tormented by her lesbianism. her and shioris problems, like everyone elses on the show, come from the fact that she is a fucked up person, and also from the fact that she fell in love with a homophobic girl and refuses to acknowledge it to herself.
sixth, and very importantly, they claim that the statement "all girls are like the rose bride" fails becsuse anthy is the only girl who is a rose bride. the third arc of the show is literally about the girls of the show taking on the explicit role of rose bride, and how this hurts them. they wear anthys outfit even, its not exactly subtle. even utena.
seventh. the claim that utena is "supposed" to save anthy on a textual level. this is astonishingly wrong like holy shit. spoilers i suppose but in the last 2 episodes utena tries several times and fails at saving anthy from her situation, and is literally removed from reality for it. the only person who can save anthy is herself, by also leaving the reality constructed by akio. the thesis of the show is that being a prince is bad to oneself and others. EXPLICITLY!!! its examined in fairly high detail actually.
i wont say that there isnt racism in the show i am not stupid. but acting like the show is utterly morally reprehensible because you only watched the setup of misogyny and homophobia in the homophobia and misogyny are bad show is just, i dont know. silly.

"Soulmate AU" and "Magical Accidents" for the fanfic mashup please! 😍💓
Alright, here’s another InuKag one-shot that I’ve been ruminating through all day. Thank you for asking! Sorry, I’m bad at Soulmate AUs and get so in my head with them... hopefully you can get the idea anyways! And I don’t know if I even hit the second prompt, ugh, but it’s there… sort of… hopefully??
The bell rang to signal another customer opening the door to the small potion shop. The cold late-autumn wind entered for a brief moment before the door closed once more.
“Welcome!” Kagome greeted, her voice pleasant as usual, turning her head from behind the counter. “Murasaki-san, Shiori-chan, it’s good to see you both again. How are you doing today?”
“Good afternoon Kagome-chan,” the mother said with a smile. “We’re doing fine. Shiori just finished school, and we’re here for our refill.” She set down an empty bottle which Kagome accepted with her usual care. Some customers preferred to bring in their own containers, but as long as it was glass it was usually perfectly fine. This one was special to Shiori, passed down from her late-father. It was a beautiful red color, round and weighty in her hands.
“One Glamour refill coming up!” She replied cheerily before turning to the larger bottles on the shelves. Grabbing at the hefty turquoise bottle clearly labeled in her own handwriting, she carefully poured the last bit of the lavender-colored liquid. Glamour was one of their most popular potions, seeing as it hid demonic features. They brewed a new batch almost each day, and it was no surprise that they ran out of their morning brew by the end of the day. Not that it was a problem since she could always make more in that case, and they could predict the regular monthly customers—a good number of weaker demons and a handful of hanyou who didn’t have the luxury of being able to disguise themselves. The shelf life was essentially one month give or take, so only three months into her job as Jinenji’s new assistant, she’d already grown familiar with some of their clients. Shiori, the little hanyou girl, was one of her favorites.
With two hands, she held the red bottle back. “Here you are.”
“Thank you again.”
“And,” Kagome drawled as she fished for something below the counter, “I also have a special something for my favorite girl.” She brought out her hand and unfolded her fingers to display a wrapped piece of candy.  “It’s got a little bit of magic in it for luck in exams. Helps the memory if you eat it while studying,” she winked.
The polite girl took it with her usual shy smile. “Kagome-chan, can you see my real face?” Shiori asked.
A bit caught off guard, Kagome cleared her throat with a thoughtful hum. “I do have Miko powers, so I can see through Glamour if I try, but I usually won’t do it unless you want me to.” It seemed like an invasion of privacy. “I can’t help but sense your aura though, just like you can sense other demons around.”
Shiori nodded. “You can look past my Glamour if you want to from now on.”
“Is it really okay?” Kagome asked, looking at Shiori’s mother. It was a sign of trust, and Kagome still felt too new to their lives for such a honor.
The elder woman smiled and smoothed out her daughter’s hair. “If it’s fine with her, then it’s fine by me.”
Kagome clapped. “Okay! Let’s have a look see!” Though she didn’t actually need to make a show of it, Kagome closed her eyes for a few seconds before opening them wide, her hands gesturing along. Looking beyond the Glamour potion was relatively easy, the mirage of Shiori’s human facade faded off her like vapor. “Why, look at your gorgeous hair!” While it appeared black under the potion, in reality the color was a shimmery blue-silver. “Oh and those eyes. They remind me of lilacs…”
“It’s a shame that the Glamour works on me,” the mother shook her head and placed her exact payment on the table. “She’s beautiful just the way she is. Reminds me of her father.”
“You get to see me all the time, Mama. Plus, you still get to see Papa’s eyes at night though!” Shiori piped up, her soft voice radiant with positivity. Then she turned back to Kagome. “They’re the same color as mine.”
“Oh, how lovely.”
She expected the next question.
“What color eyes does your soulmate have, Kagome-chan?”
“Shiori, you know you shouldn’t ask new people that,” her mother chided, but Kagome waved it off.
“It’s no problem for her.” Then she leaned in low, her body at an angle over the counter. “My eyes turn yellow, most nights. Kind of like honey in the sunlight,” she replied thoughtfully. It wasn’t something she normally revealed, but working with Jinenji and knowing Shiori’s status, she thought it a fun confession. “But every now and then, they’re brown instead,” she whispered with a wink.
The two seemed delighted at the clear implication.
“You mean—!”
Kagome put her finger over her lips with a secretive grin. “I don’t think I’ve met them yet, but keep it our secret, okay?”
Like she couldn’t contain herself otherwise, Shiori covered her mouth with both palms, giggling. Her mother had a twinkle in her brown eyes. “We’ll make sure to keep it between us girls,” she assured. “We should get going for now though. Sun is setting soon.”
The two headed for the door and the familiar chime rang again, leaving Kagome waving behind feeling lighthearted before taking the time to write down Shiori’s order in their log book. She liked her job.
It was happy work for her. When Keade informed her that the shop specifically hoped to hire a person with spiritual powers, she felt like it was a sign. Kagome loved helping all people, and being able to fuse her powers into some of the healing potions felt fulfilling. It was a plus that Jinenji, the potion master, took an immediate liking to her. His mother who owned the shop also gave her seal of approval which apparently was a hard-won feat for most. After all these years and all the service they did for the community she was still protective of her hanyou son.
Kagome rolled her shoulders. It’d be best to grind up some of the dried herbs before closing up for the day.
The bell chimed again.
“Welcome!” She moved the mortar and pestle to the front.
The man winced and covered his face for a second, making her frown. She was hit with his demonic aura the next second, though he appeared human. Either way, he wasn’t someone she recognized, but of course she was new. Or maybe he was?
“Sorry, is the smell in here too much?” she guessed as he approached the counter.
He gave an awkward glance around and almost bashfully replied, “Uh, yeah… is Jinenji or the old lady around?”
A returning client then, she surmised. “Ah, no. I’ll be closing up for the night. Can I help you with anything?”
“You’re a… miko?
He could probably sense her reiki just like she could his youki. Even through his sunglasses, she could tell he was avoiding looking at her face.
“I am.”
Then he took a brief second to eye her face, appraising her. Finally he sighed. “Ran out of Glamour this morning,” he supplied gruffly, breaking out an amber bottle like a man defeated.
“Ah, I can refill that for you, but it’ll take some time since I’ll have to make a small batch. I’m assuming you’d want it as soon as possible?”
“Good assumption,” came his dry answer.
“I’ll get right on that.”
He turned his back away, revealing long dark hair tied loosely.
“I know I’m new, but I haven’t seen you before,” she said, trying to make light conversation.
“Yeah well, I don’t usually come in, so don’t get used to it.”
Her mouth pressed into a line. Maybe it was just his personality, but the words seemed so rude. “Okay…” Maybe he was just irritable.
“Could you work any faster? It’s getting dark.” She could hear his foot impatiently tapping against the floor. He must’ve been anxious, or more affected by the smell than she knew. For now she could put off grinding any other ingredients. Even for her nose they released a potent scent whenever she did, and so she considerately refrained. Unfortunately that gave her very little to occupy herself with doing.
“I’m sorry sir, the potion takes about ten minutes even if I work quickly… Did you want to look around or… um… go out and come back in?”
“I ain’t going out,” he said. The resolution in his voice sounded stubborn.
Wonderful, she thought sarcastically. Stuck for ten minutes with an awkward jerk. And here she thought she was having such a joyful day. She stirred the mini-cauldron while holding her breath, an attempt to calm herself. After a few minutes she gave up the meaningless task. There wasn’t much to do but sit around and wait for it now. Maybe she could try to talk to the customer again?
“I’m Kagome by the way, the new assistant potion brewer,” she announced, keeping her focus on the potion.
“Great.”
She pressed on with compassionate determination. “And… you are?”
“Waiting,” he replied tersely.
Her eyebrows knitted together. Why was he being so difficult for no reason? “Actually, I need to get your name for our record book,” she explained calmly, trying to keep her voice as even as possible. The nerve of this guy!
“Dammit!” he exclaimed suddenly, and Kagome whirled around to see the dark hair that hung from his back had suddenly become a moonlit silver.
The Glamour must have worn off, hence his cursing. No wonder he was in a rush and refused to leave. Before she had a chance to get a better look, he shoved his hair back and threw on his hood. She caught the faintest glimpse of two triangles atop his head.
The man turned around, a scowl on his shadowed face. “See why I needed you to hurry?”
Her eyes shot to the door and she ran over to lock it. “If you were that afraid of the potion wearing out, couldn’t you have come in yesterday? Or I don’t know, literally ten minutes earlier?” It wasn’t her fault for him procrastinating, and she didn’t appreciate his attitude, tacking on blame when he clearly should have known better. “I’ve locked the door, so at least you don’t have to worry about anyone else seeing you. The potion will be done in two minutes.”
He grumbled. “You allowed to do that?”
She waved him off as she closed the curtains as well, noting that the sky was getting much darker.
“I can close a few minutes early,” she waved off. “Most people usually get their potions at a more reasonable time, and not at the last minute.” Getting behind the counter again, she gave the potion another stir and checked on its color, looking to see if the glittery effect of magic was properly imbued.
“Listen new-comer, I don’t need to be lectured by you. Just hand over my supply so I can get out of here.”
She dropped the spoon, her kindness finally snapping.
“Look,” she said leaning on the counter to shout at him properly, “I may be new, and you’re in a bad mood for whatever reason, but you don’t get to talk to me like that just because you’re a customer, okay?”
He turned to her sharply, the demonic aura flaring. She wasn’t intimidated. In fact, she glared up at him, letting her reiki burn just as hot as her righteous fury.
“I’ll tell you what, girl. How about—“
But then his seething words died, and Kagome was left glaring at an open-mouthed half-demon, still wearing his sunglasses despite it being early into the evening.
“How about what?” she asked.
“You…” He suddenly leaned in, and she could barely make out the shape of his eyes behind the darkened glass as he studied her face hard. “They were gray…” he muttered, but his proximity made it easy to hear.
For some reason she blushed. She liked the color that her eyes turned at night, even though it was an obvious sign that her soulmate was youkai. Shouldn’t that be like, a reassuring sign for him? “Yeah, what’s it to you? You’ve never seen eyes change color before?”
“No, that’s not…” his mouth suddenly seemed dry. “They’re…”
“They’re what?” she questioned defensively.
“Mine,” he breathed. And when he lowered his shades, she could see her own stormy eye color staring right back at her in disbelief.

God fuck, Utena characters are always always interacting even when they're not interacting. I am thinking about how the series opens with Anthy as Saionji's bride and then right before the finale the structured part of the series ends with them both victimised BOTH BRIDES looking at each other across the same arena.
I'm thinking about how when you see the student council right at the end there's a shot with Miki with Juri and Saionji with Nanami and Touga by his damn self. Thinking about Utena and Mikage pink and blue. About Miki trying to save Anthy and Utena trying to save Anthy and Touga trying to save Utena and Juri trying to save Shiori.
The repetition of visuals and themes and the structure of the episodes and just the way these characters are so distinctly designed that they become visual symbols unto themselves and in combination with each other. The way femininity in character design is used to signal to you way, way early on what this person's eventual role in the misogynist abusive power structure could become.
How Juri is a boy-shaped girl and Miki is a girl-shaped boy and both of them have some kind of special place in this and the ability to defend themselves because lesbian-who-refuses-to-comphet and straight boy are unseduceable by the male villains, but the other characters are not.
The metaphor of the coffin and of living in the abuser's world being LITERALISED until you can't really do anything without interacting with Akio, can you? There's just so much going ONNNN

Comfort and Harmony (Kurama x Reader)
Word count: 4.365 Pairing: Kurama x Female!Reader Genre: Comfort Fluff, family, romance, mild sexual themes (teasing) Rating: Teen (lots of sexal teasing) Summary: This oneshot is related to the „Poltergeist Movie“. If you haven't seen the movie, you may not understand why Kurama is acting the way he does. After the events with Yakumo and his underlings, Kurama fell in some kind of depression. The memories of his deceased friend Kuronue haunted him more like he wanted to admit. Kurama never showed any sign of weakness or mental breakdowns, but now, that he has human emotions, he occasionally suffers from them without realizing. After not seeing him for two weeks, you decided you pay him a visit and look how he is doing.
You were worried about Kurama. After the events with the Netherking, King Yakumo and his underlings, Kurama seemed to stopped interacting with his friends. According to Yusuke, he wasn't at school either, and he didn't really answered calls from them. The memory of his old friend Kuronue must have torn painful wounds, you knew that from the moment after Kurama had defeated the Netherlord demon, who had disguised himself as Kuronue.
For a long time you quarreled with whether you should visit him at home, at the Minamino house, or whether he would rather have his peace and leave him alone. After all, he didn't just avoid his friends and lover for no reason.
After school, you didn't want to think about it anymore and tried to distract yourself from worrying. But then you noticed that you had gone to the Minamino house by yourself when you stood in front of their front door.
"Okay, that's almost creepy .. His house is in a completely different direction than mine and I'm sure I didn't go in that direction .." you mumbled to yourself and closed your eyes before  a smile escaped your lips. "Well, then I can make sure that he's okay when I am here anyway."
You took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. It was not your first visit there and you already had a mother-child like relationship with Shiori. To be honest it wasn't difficult to build such a close relationship with such a lovable and warm-hearted woman like Shiori.
Said woman opened the door a few moments later she smiled warmly when she saw the visitor.
“[Y/n]-chan, what a nice surprise that you are coming to visit us again. How are you, dear? “ Shiori asked warmly and pulled you into a motherly hug. You smiled and hugged her back before loosening up and scratching your cheek.
“I'm fine, thanks for asking. Hopefully you too. I'm here because I wanted to see Shuuichi .. He doesn't come to school anymore and .. I just wanted to see how he is doing. " You explained. Shiori's smile fell slowly, the condition of her son was troubling her too.
"Shuuichi has been acting really weird for two weeks ..", Shiori began and looked at the ground. Two weeks, yes that was exactly when the Yakumo thing came up. "He hardly comes out of his room, doesn't eat and stares absently in front of himself .." she explained and you saw how hurt Shiori was about the mental absence of her son. You put your arms reassuringly around the older woman's shoulders and smiled confidently at her.
"That is why I am here. I'm going to kick Shuuichi in the butt so that he can at least eat again. Don't worry, Shiori-san. Shuuichi has had a lot of stress in school and with his friends lately. He doesn't mean it that way, really. " You spoke softly and hugged Shiori again. It was like Shiori was your own mother.
“Thank you for your comforting words, dear. It's just, I've never seen Shuuichi like that before. And that just worries me. " She sighed.
“Me too, believe me. Can I see him? " You asked.
“You don't need to ask permission. He's in his room. That he hasn't left in days. As I said, he doesn't even touch the food, which I put in front of the door .. "
"You know what, don't bring him food today. Just cook as usual and set the table for Shuuichi and me. I'll make sure he comes down.“ You promised her with a smile and that calmed Shiori down again when she nodded gratefully and smiled.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Really."
As Shiori moved away for you to come in, you greeted Hatanaka and Kokoda, Hatanaka's son, as you made your way to Kurama's room. If he didn't want to see you, he could still say it in your face. But now it was important to see how he was doing, when even Shiori was already very worried. That wasn't a good sign ..
In front of his room, you knocked so gently that Kurama probably thought you were his mother.
"I'm not hungry, mother." He answered slightly monotonously and you sighed softly. That was really not the Kurama you knew and you didn't want to leave him in a state like this. Without further hesitation, you opened the door to his room and stepped inside. Kurama, lying on his bed, jumped a bit when the door opened. "I said, I-" his sentence stopped when he didn't see his mother, but you. "...Oh sorry. I thought you were my mother. "
You smiled a little and carefully stepped closer.
"I'ts all right. Please forgive me for showing up unannounced, but .. We are all really worried about you. "You spoke. "Yusuke said, you haven't been to school for weeks and your mother said that you hardly ate anything." Your words became quieter and softer when you looked into his face. He looked unhealthy pale and the glow of his emerald green irises was gone. "Kurama, it is really not a good thing that you distance yourself and try to escape your depressive hole on your own."
Kurama was silent as he listened to you. Did he really looked depressed? He hadn't noticed that at all.
"I'm not distancing myself." He tried to defend himself.
“You do. You even avoid your family and ignore our messages completely. " You contradicted him directly.
"Because I need time for myself?"
A low sigh escaped you. Who could have guessed how stubborn this fox could be when he wanted to? Without saying anything else, you stepped closer until you were right in front of his bed. Then you put your arms around him and pressed him against your body.
“Then why doesn't get your condition better when you're alone? Don't fool yourself, Kurama. Being alone is the last thing you need right now. " You spoke softly and hugged him even more to your body. Kurama allowed you every touch, there was so much trust between you two. After all, that's how it should be in a relationship. The fox sighed in defeat and inhaled your scent deeply.
"Thanks." He said after a short moment of silence.
"For what?"
"That you are so persistent and always go your way." He explained and pulled away from you as he caressed your cheek and smiled slightly. That expression on his face looked much better and you smiled too.
"I have to be persistent because you never admit that you need us." You countered teasingly and were glad that you were able to lure your fox out of his reserved condition. Kurama laughed barely audibly and fell back on his pillow. Then he made a wave of his hand that signaled you to lie down next to him. He didn't have to tell you twice, of course, and you snuggled against his chest as you laid down in bed with him. There was a pleasant silence for a moment, until you spoke up again. "Kuronue must have been a very close friend."
“Yes, he was. We were like brothers. ”Kurama explained with a sad smile. You noticed his broken voice and gently stroked his cheek, trying to comfort him.
"Would you like to tell me more about him?"
"What do you want to know?" Kurama asked, surprised that you were so interested in his old friend.
"How did you meet? What was his personality? How long have you been friends? Things like that. ” You listed and Kurama nodded.
"That could take some time," he warned.
"That doesn't matter, I don't intend to leave you anytime soon." You waved your hand and Kurama chuckled softly before he breathed a short kiss on your lips.
"All right."
And so Kurama began with his stories from his past. How he met Kuronue when they were both still children and had lost their parents in a war. You asked him if demons had "children forms", which he answered with a "yes" and you giggled cutely when you imagined Youko as a child.
"What's so funny?" he asked and squeezed your shoulder affectedly as he held you close.
“Funny is the wrong word. I'm just imagining what you looked like as a kid. With your cute little fox ears, the short tail, shorter white hair. Really lovable and adorable. " You admitted, still giggling. You already saw his Youko form at the Dark Tournament.
“If you put it that way now, it almost sounds as if I couldn't be taken seriously. But I take that as a compliment. At least you don't know how I looked as human child. ” Kurama mused.
"Um, I do. Shiori has already shown me some photo albums. "
"Eh? When? Which?"
Kurama's surprised exclamation was just so cute that you had to laugh again.
“Back from your kindergarten days. You were really cute. And then I saw pictures when you were 14. You are not recognizable at all with short hair. “ You spoke and Kurama smiled.  “I can reassure you, there weren't any embarrassing pictures."
"There are no embarrassing pictures of me."
"And what about the 'shaving accident' when you had to go to kindergarten with a bald head?"
"... how do you know about it?"
"Hahaha."
"At least I didn't think there were monsters in my closet until I was 13." he teased back now and you blushed a little.
"H-Hey, first of all because you're a demon and second, you didn't had a stupid big brother who told you horror stories and even hid in the closet at night to scare me to death."
"Touché"
You both looked at each other and then shared a laugh. It was so good to see him laughing again.
Kurama went on to tell how he and Kuronue had gone on missions together and how the two were constantly endangered by Youko's spontaneity and carelessness. The expression on his face was priceless when you said that you can imagine that he must have been a chaotic as Youko.
It actually took some time before Kurama's stories were exhausted and he closed his eyes. He hadn't talked so much about his past in a long time.
“I hope it wasn't too difficult to tell me all of this. The last thing I want is to open more wounds. ", You apologized and averted your gaze, feeling a little guilty. You really hoped that your curiosity did not cause him to fall deeper into the hole of depression again. A warm hand on your cheek brought your face back in his direction and you saw him smile genuinely.
“To be honest, I also thought that it hurts to talk about it, but .. I have to say that I feel much more liberated now. It was so good to tell our stories and refresh my memories. I am not sad, [Y/n]. I am happy. Happy about the memories that I regained of my old friend again and happy that I could talk that off my mind. " He spoke softly. You smiled and leaned your head on his.
"See? You just needed someone to talk to."
“No, not 'someone'. You are exactly the person I needed without realizing it. So .. thank you for coming here. " He whispered and pulled you into a gentle and innocent kiss. You closed your eyes and returned the kiss just as lovingly, until the lack of oxygen caused the two of you to break away from the kiss. You leaned forehead against forehead and Kurama hugged his you close.
"No need to thank me. I wanted to show up earlier, but Yusuke and Hiei advised me against doing so. They said you needed this break to collect your thoughts. "
"Yusuke said something like that?" Kurama asked incredulously, causing you to laugh again.
"Let's say Hiei said it."
"I see. I really needed time for myself, but .. I didn't realize how much I would miss you during this time. "
"Oh? A phone call would have been enough and I would have been with you immediately. " You teased him and played with one of his strands of hair.
"Maybe I wanted to see how long it would take until you couldn't take it anymore without me?" He teased back and his hand caressed your clothed bum shamelessly.
"As I said, it only took me so long because of Hiei. If it had been up to me, I would have shown up on the first day you were absent. " You pouted. Kurama smiled. He wouldn't have thought it was possible, but you actually managed to lift him out of his cloud of sorrow. "Can you do me a favor?" You asked then.
"Anything you want," he said, caressing your cheek lovingly. You leaned into his touch and sighed blissfully. Oh, how you had missed this closeness to him in the past two weeks.
“Are you coming downstairs for dinner? I told Shiori to cook for both of us and that I will definitely bring you downstairs. With or without your consent, so better say yes. " You warned with a wink, whereupon Kurama's smile only broadened and softened.
“Of course I'll come with you. Even if I would like to see how you 'force' me. " He said and saw you grin.
"Oh. No you don't want to. I can assure you of that, fox. “ You whispered resolutely and then got up from your cozy, cuddled up to your boyfriend in bed, place,. “Dinner should be ready soon. Let's get down there. "
“Today is Friday, mother always does something more elaborate today. She probably have just started cooking. ”Kurama commented.
"I know. That's exactly why we're going downstairs. You can finally talk to your stepfather and stepbrother again and I'll help Shiori in the kitchen. “ You answered and when you saw how Kurama opened his mouth to say something, you cut him off. “And no, Kurama, I will not allow myself to be talked out of helping. I kind of invited myself to dinner. So it is the least that I can do and help Shiori with the cooking. ”You said and Kurama just smiled silently. He knew that if his girlfriend got something on her mind, he got stuck with arguments. And in that case he would be the last one to forbid you to integrate into his family.
The young couple left the room and came down the stairs, when Shiori heard two sets of footsteps and ran from the kitchen to the living room, which was adjacent to the stairs.
"Shuuichi ..!" She shouted and smiled in relief when she saw that her son seemed apparently better.
"Sorry for bothering you, mother." He apologized and hugged his mother tightly. Shiori shook her head in understanding.
"The main thing is that you are better. I am so glad that you are back on track. You looked so terrible the last few days .. So pale, as if the spirits of life had left you. "
"What? That bad? " Kurama asked, shocked, before Hatanaka laughed gently and put his arm around his son-in-law like a companion.
“Yes, my boy. But as I can see you had a very good therapy from this phase. You look great. “ he agreed. Kurama smiled and closed his eyes.
“I'm sorry for all the grief. But you're right, I actually had the best therapy you can imagine. " He spoke and looked at you, making you avert your gaze in embarassment and playing with one of your strands of hair.
"Ahaha. I'll go into the kitchen and help Shiori with the cooking. "
"Dear, you really don't have to. Basically everything has already been prepared. "
"I still want to help."
"Alright."
Kurama smiled contentedly when the two women disappeared towards the kitchen and he stayed in the living room with Hatanaka.
"And we can also make ourselves useful and set the table."
"Yes, stepfather."
Kurama smiled again and looked into the kitchen. Shiori and you laughed together and talked lively. He was so happy that his loved one and his mother got along so well. But then again ... Was there anyone who didn't get along with Shiori? She was downright an angel. The dearest person on earth. Only such a person could eventually change his demonic beliefs.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
During dinner you sat between Kurama and Shiori, next to her Hatanaka and Kokoda rounded off the table on the other side to Kurama. Everyone talked freely and Kurama seemed to have finally found his way back to his friendly nature.
Under the table, his hand wandered inconspicuously next to him while he was eating and gently took your hand to give it an affectionate squeeze. You looked under the table beside you and smiled as you looked up at Kurama and looked into his happily vibrating irises. You two lingered in this rigidity for a moment until Kokoda blinked and looked under the table.
"Can't you two keep your hands off each other for 5 minutes?" Kokoda asked amused and Hatanaka scolded his son with clearing his throat. Kurama and you blushed because you were caught and looked into the smiling faces of Shiori and Hatanaka. Despite this situation, Kurama did not let go of your hand.
“There is a lot of catching up to do. We haven't seen each other for 2 weeks, ” the redhead smiled, slightly cheeky.
"And whose fault is that?", You asked teasingly, which made Kokoda laugh.
"She owned you, brother."
"It would be unfair if I were always the winner in the relationship."
Kurama's quick-witted answer made you open your mouth a little indignantly in shock before looking at Kurama's smiling face. He winked at you to make you understand that it was all just kidding. But of course you knew that beforehand.
“Shuuichi, don't be so complacent. Of course you are the winner in this relationship. After all, I'm a good catch. " You said jokingly, whereupon Kokoda patted his brother on the shoulder in a friendly manner.
"Your girlfriend is really on fire, Shuuichi." He said with a grin.
"Indeed." Kurama agreed with his stepbrother and pulled on your hand, which he held the whole time, to pull you close with a little more force. Now his lips were on your ear and his voice was deep and low so that his family could not hear what he was whispering in your ear. “Without you, this dinner  would be pretty uncomfortable. But the mood is so harmonic and relaxed. Thank you, my love. " He whispered in your ear and you suppressed a blissful sigh before putting your arm around his head to move so that this time your mouth was at his ear and you could whisper back.
“It's just because you have a really great family. With them you can just laugh and feel good. Believe me, we are all happy that you’re back to being the old Shuuichi we all love. So no need to thank me. "You breathed in his ear and Kurama's smile turned into an almost embarrassed grin.
"Awww. Get a room, lovebirds. " Kokoda said, until he was scolded again by Hatanaka. Man, this boy could be even more annoying than Yusuke with his comments. This two would certainly get along well.
After this incident, the rest of the dinner was quieter and everyday things were talked about. Kurama thanked you for being so prescient and for telling Shiori a good excuse that explained his condition. He could never told her the truth. It was almost frightening to him how well you could adapt to the circumstances of his family and almost automatically only call him Shuuichi automatically when you entered the house. He often had to interrupt Yusuke or Kuwabara when they wanted to adress him as Kurama in front of his mother, because they had simply forgotten that Shiori knew nothing of his true identity.
"The food was really delicious, Shiori." You said then.
“Thank you, but actually it was partly the food that you helped with. So you basically gave yourself a compliment. " Shiori replied, laughing gently.
"Heh. I was just helping you out. I can't come close to your culinary skills. " You laughed and saw Shiori get up to get the dishes. "Stay seated. I'll take care of that. "
“Oh no, you are a guest. I shouldn't have allowed you to help in the first place. There is no way I could let you do the dishes. " Shiori sighed with a guilty conscience.
“I don't mind! The food was so delicious and you can treat yourself to some rest. After all, you have to cook and run the household for three men who are always hungry. I bet nobody will help you from this lazy himbos! " You snorted in a „not serious“ tone and pointed to the men.
"That's not true. Kazuya helps me a lot and Shuuichi also does what he can. Kokoda also has his household chores, which he does, thanks to Shuuichi. " Shiori explained with a smile.
"Really? Okay, then I didn't say anything. But I still do the dishes. I can always relax and pursue my thoughts, " You explained further.
"If you don't take mother's help, may I help you with the dishes?" Kurama's voice was soft as he put his hand on your shoulder and brushed down a few stray strands of hair. A tender smile was reflected on his lips.
"Oah, please no sex in the kitchen. That's so unhygienic. " Kokoda groaned annoyed, but he continued to grin when the couple turned away from each other, blushing.
"Of course you can. But no roaming hands." You warned and Kurama chuckled as he followed you into the kitchen. Shiori and Hatanaka looked at each other and laughed heartily.
"They are so cute together."
"Indeed. I'm so happy that Shuuichi has finally found someone who makes him so happy. "
"Yes."
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
In the kitchen, you hummed happily as you washed the dishes. You really enjoyed Kurama's family. They were so warm and harmonious and you already felt like a member of the family. Above all, however, you were infinitely happy that your Kurama was back to normal and no longer isolated from everyone.
“It would be the best if we give Yusuke a call and tell him that you are feeling better. Otherwise he'll bomb me with countless messages tomorrow and want to know how my visit went. " You chuckled.
"Mhm. Or we just keep our cell phones off and just enjoy the next few days as a couple? ” Kurama suggested instead, which elicited an embarrassed smile from you.
“A tempting idea. But it's not fair for our other friends. They're very worried about you too. Please. ” You said then and Kurama couldn't help but put the towel, he was holding to dry the dishes, aside and put his arms around you from behind to hold you tight.
"Alright. A short feedback can be set up. But after that I would like to be undisturbed with my girlfriend for a while. Or do you have any objection? ”He asked and began to nibble on your earlobe. You stopped your work and closed your eyes to gasp softly.
"No, I haven't," You replied softly, whereupon Kurama grinned against your skin and kissed your neck.
"Good .." he breathed and his hands went under your shirt to caress the bare skin underneath.
"S-Shuuichi .. Not .. here." Your protests were quiet and uncertain. Kurama started sucking on your neck while his hands went to your breasts and gently squeezed them over your bra. "Your family could hear us .."
"Then you shouldn't be so loud, huh?" Kurama purred in a deep and erotic voice that left no room for discussion. You bit your lip as he put his knee between your legs from behind and used his knee to grind and rub at your crotch. His fingers flicked your clothed nipples and his mouth was hot and greedy between your neck and shoulder.
"N-No .. We can't …" it was rare that you resisted against such intimacies. In fact, you never had any objections. "... I don't trust my mouth ..." You explained afterwards.
Kurama kissed your neck gently up to your ear before looking at her questioningly. "I find your mouth trustworthy." He smiled and took your earlobe into his mouth to suck on it. You sighed and slowly moved away from him before turning around and looking deeply and apologetically into his eyes.
"You do not understand this. I'm afraid ... that the name I'm going to moan won't be Shuuichi. " You said very quietly and Kurama understood now. He smiled understandingly and pulled you into a gentle hug before kissing your forehead lovingly.
"I understand. Thank you for your care. " He whispered against your lips before giving you a gentle kiss.
You smiled gratefully and laid your head on his shoulder. "It's fine. Maybe we'll find a soundproof room here. " You smirked jokingly. Kurama glanced at you with an illegible face before lifting you up in his arms. "Wh-?"
"The bathroom is soundproof," he grinned.
"… Seriously? .." You laughed and put your hand  over your forehead when your redhead only smiled innocently at you. "And the dishes?"
“Let's foist them off to my stepbrother. He's been neglecting his duties lately anyway. Just like me in .. certain other things. " He whispered and kissed your lips gently. You blushed after realizing what he meant and just giggled happily as Kurama carried you past his family with a laugh and asked Kokoda to continue the dishes.
You disappeared up the stairs to the bathroom and were not seen again that evening.
Everything was the same again.

"Hmm someone remind me of this whole cars thread tomorrow if you would, I Have Thoughts" - Docholligay, Jet's Discord
Yes, thank you!
So there was some crosstalk on Jetty’s Discord about cars in Utena (both the show and the movie) and what they might represent, and I wanted to throw my hat in the ring, so far as I’ve thought about it.
Someone pointed out that within the movie, it’s a really obvious idea of vehicles to freedom and Utena as Anthy’s vehicle to freedom, and I do think that’s the straightforward answer, and I think you’d be hardpressed to argue with it. Not every symbol has to be difficult to understand in order to be valid--I think it’s just fine the way it is. And I say, as I always do, that I adore Ikuhara’s refusal to explain shit. More people should be like you, kudos. Symbolism and media is more fun when there’s no Word of God answer. Creativity can thrive more.
ANYWAY, so I think the take as vehicles to freedom is good, but I also think, especially if we take into account the anime itself and the interplay with Touga and Akio and the car (a GREAT car) has a few other implications as well.
Someone brought up that cars represent the time and wealth to care for them, and I don’t think that’s WRONG, exactly, but there’s a reason that cars are used here and not other markers of wealth and leisure time, like meticulous gardens, large wardrobes, huge collections of any kind, I mean, basically shit that has no use other than the aesthetic.
Cars, like horses before them (and make no mistake, horses are still very very expensive to care for. Probably more than a classic car.) are a mark of POWER, and I think that’s a lot of what’s going on here, is power and control. Control comes into it especially when we consider that the entire final scene of Utena’s movie has the context of a race. Racing is about power and mastery, control and danger, and I think so much of what it’s doing with cars is about that.
If we go back to the anime, we know that Akio has a car that, while not particularly fast, really*, but very much has the look of a muscle car, the visual symbol of what the anime is going for with this object of Akio’s. That, combined with the speed he’s driving at, shows the level of power under his control and that he can manage it even while the road is telling him it’s literally too fast. He is showing his mastery and control of the power underneath him.
So then why does he often jump off the fucking thing onto the hood, Doc? Because he actually isn’t in control at all! Without Anthy, the entire world he’s the ‘master’ of crumbles. He jumps because he was never really the driver in the first place except by consent of the driven, and the way he abdicates that power so easily in jumping off is a signal of that long before we ever really learn it. Before I think even Akio learns it, though it should have been intensely obvious to him.
This helps explain the presence of the car within the dueling arena, because with the idea that every girl can be a rose bride is the idea that power can be grasped by anyone, and power is what so many of the duelists are seeking, power over themselves, power over others, so much of what they seek can come down to the ideas of power and control.
Cars as imagery of this extends back into the movie, too. Utena being a supercar-style, though not in an easy straight across way like Akio’s car, shows the immense amount of power underneath her, but also allows for she and Anthy to be a team in a way that I don’t think happened in the anime (Full disclosure though: I VASTLY prefer the anime’s ending in general). If you think of the great races, the car is part of the equation, but so is the driver, and the way they end up intertwined after breaking out of the Ohtori race shows them to truly be equals, both car and driver, at the very end of it all, and that was the only way it could ever leave.
This is, I think, part of showing Shiori as a driverless car--she doesn’t have any kind of partnership, any kind of something that can really allow her to leave. Does that imply that you need another person to leave situations like Ohtori, and do you like that? I’m not sure! But it feels right to me in this moment, whether I like it or not, as an explanation. And then of course the group in the jeep, a car not yet ready for the show of power it will require to leave the track, but the kind of car that was built to provide aid and support in battle**. It’s a step for the car and the occupants, even if they can’t leave.
I don’t really have a good way of ending this essay, as it’s more a collection of my thoughts on cars and Utena, but I hope you enjoyed it anyhow ahahah
*It’s a ‘57 Chevrolet Corvette, or the anime version of such, and while it would have been fast for the time it came out, it no longer would be even considered in those ranks.
**This may be very basic trivia and if so I apologize, but Jeep is based on slang for the “General Purpose” vehicle that was built for the US military. It wasn’t a civilian car (and I still would prefer an unfancy military build, GOD I would love to get my hands on one, I’m ALWAYS looking at the military destash auctions.) for many many years until after its creation.

Hello there!!
Quick question! I need your help in finding a fic for me. It started out with Kagome and Sango was eating lunch and they were playing this game and I think one of the questions had to do with who is hot or has a crush and Kagome wrote Inuyasha and as they were leaving the table, he found the note and asked her about it later in his office.
I lost the story so I never got to finish it!
Thank you in advance for your help! 😁❤️
Tumblr media
Oh No @inuyashaeienni ! We've searched, but we can't find this fic for you -- hopefully one of our readers can though!

I Used to Wonder What Friendship Could Be
Summary:  Akira allows Shiori to share with her something she loves. Even if it doesn't quite fit her image as Frau Platin.
Notes: As far as I’m concerned this is canon
The halls of Seigfeld Institute of Music were still and quiet, so it was only natural then that Akira’s footsteps seemed almost as loud as thunder claps as she strode through them. Normally she would wait for Michiru before going off to work in the student council room, but something or other seemed to have her occupied this afternoon. And there were a few things that really needed to get done, so it seemed silly to wait around for her. Akira couldn’t plan her life around Michiru all the time, sometimes things had to be done of her own accord.
As she approached the doors of the student council room she paused. Some kind of sound, other than her own footsteps. She listened carefully. It was quiet, but it almost sounded like...voices. Akira took a few tentative steps forward, placing her ear against the door. Voices coming from within the student council room, and they didn’t sound like any of the other Edels...what was going on? As president she was obviously supposed to be the first to know about any kind of developments, so this required immediate investigation. With flair suited only for the one given the title of Frau Platin, she flung open the doors, prepared to deal with whatever matter was placed in front of her.
And what she found was a very startled-looking Shiori seated on one of the couches, a tablet computer sitting in her lap. And nobody else.
“Y-Yukishiro-senpai!” Shiori said, her posture stiffening considerably.
“At ease,” Akira said as she approached. Shiori did relax a little, but she still seemed somewhat pensive. “Why do you have that out?” She pointed to the tablet, which, as it turned out, had been the source of the voices she had heard earlier and was still playing. On the screen was some kind of colorfully animated cartoon.
“I...well, I finished all of my work early and I decided I wanted to watch my favorite show,” Shiori said, looking bashful. Akira gave a small smile before moving over to the other side of the couch.
“The student council room is not normally a place of leisure,” She said as she took a seat next to Shiori, “but seeing as you performed your duties beforehand you have done nothing wrong.” Shiori smiled warmly back at her, and Akira’s own smile grew slightly larger. Her attention then shifted to the cartoon that was playing. Currently a very pink cartoon horse was excitedly talking to a much less enthused-looking purple one. “What is this that you are watching?”
Shiori’s eyes lit up like lanterns, shimmering as she looked up at Akira excitedly. “It’s my favorite show ever! It’s about magic and adventures and the power of friendship!” She began to gush enthusiastically about the show, and while Akira couldn’t even begin to take in everything that she was saying she listened. For about five minutes Shiori explained every minute detail about the show, all while it continued to play. She was only brought out of her spiel when the ending credits music reached her ears. “Oh, the episode is over…”
“Is it possible to watch the next one?” Akira asked. She was still somewhat confused and had no idea what to make of anything Shiori had just said, but she was in the mood to humor her. After all, seeing Shiori happy was a good sign.
“Actually I can just go back and watch it again, since I’m streaming it,” Shiori said as she did something with the touchscreen.
“Ah, how useful,” Akira said, despite having not understood that last comment either. Still, she moved in slightly closer. “Do you mind if I join you? I’m curious to see what it is about this show that inspires such passion in you.”
Akira swore she saw tears welling up in Shiori’s eyes. “Y-Yukishiro-senpai…” She said, her voice quavering. “That would make me so happy! Of course you can!”
“Just one episode, however,” Akira said, suddenly stern. “There is business I need to attend to soon. Once we finish I suggest you find a place to practice.”
“Of course Yukishiro-senpai.” Shiori nodded in affirmation.
“Very good. Now, shall we begin watching?”
One episode became two. Two became three. Before either of them knew it they were halfway through the first season. This was surprisingly gripping. The bonds between the main characters, the suspense of both their perilous adventures and their day-to-day lives, and the surprisingly catchy songs all came together to create something both funny and emotionally stirring. And Akira was hooked. It was only with great reluctance that she looked up at the windows to see that the sky had turned orange, signaling that much more time had passed than she had intended.
“It would seem to be getting late,” She said, standing up. “I have put off my work for too long. Go down to dinner, I don’t want my Frau Jade skipping meals.” Shiori nodded and stowed the tablet in her bag before making her way toward the exit. “Oh, and Shiori…”
Shiori turned around. “Yes?”
Akira smiled as she took a seat at her desk. “This was highly enjoyable. I would be willing to do this again sometime. Perhaps tomorrow?”
Shiori lit up again. “Yes, of course Yukishiro-senpai, you can ask anytime!”
“I will, thank you,” She said before Shiori smiled at her one last time before leaving. Pulling out the paperwork that she had been putting off, Akira caught herself thinking about how cool it would be to have a baby purple dragon for a secretary.
Well, Mei Fan wasn’t a dragon, but her hair was purple and she did have a youthful exuberance about her. Close enough.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Days later, all five Edels were gathered in the student council room. Nothing of any particular grave importance had brought them there, this was just a routine meeting for them. As was standard for such meetings, Akira started off.
“Now, everypony, on today’s agenda…” She trailed off, having noticed that odd, somewhat confused looks had fallen over everyone’s faces. Everyone except Shiori, curiously, who still seemed to be paying rapt attention. “Is there something on my uniform?”
There was a very long and very awkward silence before Yachiyo spoke up.
“Akira-senpai,” she said, seeming to struggle to hold in laughter, “‘everypony?’”
As the realization of what had just happened set in it took a great deal of willpower for Akira to maintain her composure. She had watched more of that show with Shiori and it had been on her mind quite a bit, this she knew, but she hadn’t been prepared for something to slip out like that. Reflexively her eyes darted to where Michiru was sitting.
Having known Michiru for as long as she had, Akira knew that behind her small stature and cheerful demeanor there was a fearsome temper. And seeing the way that her jaw was clenched, her eyes had darkened, and there was practically steam coming out of her ears, that temper had come to the surface. As the council devolved into chaos over her little slip up, all Akira could think about was the terrible tongue-lashing she was no doubt in for.
