A serene green sea turtle glides through crystal clear waters, surrounded by a shimmering shoal of fish. It's a peaceful snapshot of life beneath the waves.

Howard was embarrassed by his mistake, but also more than a bit disappointed.

I drew Ahti II and his never before seen, very best friend Karleeen (three e's is intentional) for Halloween! They're dressed as Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens :) Someone likened Ahti II to Azi once and given that he already had a dark-haired "best friend" who is part edgy animal... it was only natural to have this costume arrangement. Please don't spoil anything about the show though, I am only in the first few episodes of season 1!!
On another note, imagine having to buy pants with eight pant legs. The cost would be insane...

Fish tank progress
Last Friday I got 6 danios for my tank and they have been thriving and dont appear to be stressed or acting strangely. They are all different sizes 2 are super tiny, 2 are medium size and 2 are quite big (fully grown?). That was just how they sold them to me.
However the 2 biggest ones keep fighting eachother quite intensely for a few minutes then randomly stop and continue swimming around like nothing happened. My tank has no water quality or temp issues with plenty of places to hide aswell as a consistent feeding time.
Danios apparently chase eachother around as play or something? The smaller ones do this often but there is no biting or relentless chasing just small bursts around the tank where it eventually ends. The bigger 2 do this with the others but with when it's just between eachother it's more standoffish and less chasey. They splash the water occasionally too during their fight.
Is this mating, aggression, play or establishing a pecking order? Or something else. All of my other danios are perfectly fine it's just these 2.
If anyone knows anything please tell me. I love fish and I would hate for them to be stressed especially when my plant growth and water cycle has been doing so well.
Thank you💕
P.S I already checked their fins for any signs of nipping but there wasn't any.

Day 30: Magic! There's a lot of magic to be had round here, and most of it's pretty bad, but at least someone knows how to have fun with a few little tricks.
Water magic is probably Oren's favourite, it's just very easy and safe to play with all you want!

Took a trip to Pittenweem Arts Festival today and finally bought one of the Fish Shoal Tapestries!
They are made by Claudia Maldonado from recycled inner tubes and painted and hand-stitched so they shimmer and move in the light.

Book 365
A Shoal of Fishes
Hiroshige / text by Bryan Holme
The Metropolitan Museum of Art / The Viking Press 1980
Gorgeously bound in a lovely colored cloth in the Japanese orihon accordion style, this series of fish prints by the master Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) is nothing short of spectacular. Relatively rare, Hiroshige’s fish prints—there are 20 in all—were commissioned by a poetry guild to accompany their poems and were mostly published in 1832. With beautiful reproductions and a full index of poem translations, fish species, and notes on the season that is being depicted, this book is a valuable look at a lesser-known aspect of the great master’s work.
