love scars - Gojo Satoru
Tumblr media
Gojo x Fem. Reader
Summary: you heal Gojo's scars after his fight with Sukuna.
TW: MANGA SPOILERS, hurt, pain, battle scars, blood
Tumblr media
Seeing Satoru physically hurt was not something you witnessed often. His infinity kept him safe, not many were able to penetrate the invisible barrier that protected him from outside attacks. However, the King of Curses was one of those few that managed to nullify that defensive power of your beloved husband and you warned the white-haired sorcerer about that possibility before going into battle.
It was heartbreaking for you, to let him go into battle so soon after his unsealing, but you had no other choice. He was the strongest after all, the one destined to defeat the monster called Ryomen Sukuna. You couldn’t just sit there with the others and watch the clash of the strongest, so you decided to wait in the medical ward of Jujutsu Tech, knowing that Satoru would teleport there instantly if he got hurt. Shoko told you about his plan, he didn't want you to be there when he arrived, and he didn't want you to see him hurt, but you couldn't care any less about his preferences. You were a Special Grade sorcerer, a healer with an insane amount of cursed energy, but Gojo didn't want you to take care of his wounds after his fight because of the Heavenly Restriction imposed on your powers. In order to balance out the sheer amount of cursed energy you possessed and the seemingly limitless reversed cursed technique you could produce, your technique had its flaw: the pain that you took away from others by healing them was inflicted on you throughout the duration of the process.
He witnessed it many times, the way it worked, and he held you lovingly, trying to take away the agonizing pain shaking your body. Compared to you, Shoko's powers were a lot more limited, she couldn't deal with greater injuries, however, she could heal him enough so that he could do the rest on his own. There was no way he could allow you to go through the pain he was feeling after Sukuna's back-to-back slashes.
After the longest 2 hours of your life, you suddenly felt a huff of air and Satoru appeared in front of you, growling in pain.
"No, no, no, baby, you're not supposed to be here, go get Shoko, please." he implores, the agonizing pain visible in his cerulean eyes. At least the one you could see, the other slashed in half, covered in blood.
"Shoko's busy with the others, Satoru. You know this is not the job for her, she couldn't do it. I have to be the one to heal you, sweetheart." you explain, already multiplying your cursed energy, ready to produce the RCT needed for a difficult job like this one.
"No, I can't... I can't let you deal with this, my kikufuku. It's unbearable, it's too much." he exclaims, tears running down his face "I can do it myself, I just need a moment to cool down and re-charge my cursed energy."
"No, you can't, Satoru! You're gonna bleed out, I have to do this. Please, let me do this..." you are crying now too, imploring him to finally agree "I love you, please let me do this!"
He takes off his surprisingly intact shirt, he hisses in pain, but he has finally accepted your help. You step closer to him as you put your hand over the deepest cut you could see, one close to his precious heart and you look him in the eyes one last time before starting the process. He leans up to carefully kiss your lips, whispering how much he loves you, how sorry he is, and how everything is going to be fine. He takes your free hand into his and he can feel your grip tightening as his wound fades slowly. For the first few cuts he thinks you're doing great, but you are doing everything in your power to not scream from the agonizing pain. Your eyes are full of tears, your face contorted from the feeling of sharp blades slicing your skin. There are no visible scars or anything signaling that you were hurting, but he knows what you're feeling. It's the same thing he had to endure half an hour ago while fighting Sukuna.
After an hour of constantly healing him, you're about halfway done, but the pain gets nearly unbearable and you scream, trying to push through it for Satoru's sake.
"Baby, please, stop, I'll be okay from now on, I'll do the rest myself, just please stop!" he implores, unable to let you continue. You cannot speak back, you drop your head back, trying to deal with the unbearable pain, but you don't let go. You continue healing him as he implores and begs you to stop. His eye is the most difficult to restore, but you're able to do it, and as soon as his last scar disappears from his body, you collapse into his hands, barely conscious.
"Are you okay, little one? Please tell me you're okay. I love you, I need you to be alright." he says cupping your cheeks, leaving small kisses all over your face and lips.
"I'm fine, 'toru. Don't worry!" you smile lightly, kissing him on the lips "Jus' tired."
"I'm not gonna let you do that again. I don't want you to feel pain, sweetheart. You're so brave, you are amazing. I love you more than anything." he murmurs, kissing the crown of your head as you bury your face in his toned chest, inhaling his scent. He smells like cologne and body wash, a tiny ounce of sweat, but you don't mind. You're glad he's okay and that you were able to heal his porcelain skin, making every scar littered on his body disappear forever.

Why i believe Gojo could come back
This chapter left us in a devastated state and was absolutely uncalled for, but I personally believe this isnt the end of the strongest sorcerer. There are several reasons as to why (These are just opinions, I could be wrong in certain areas AND personal feelings might make an occassional appearance.)
LEAKS:
Tumblr media
This whole panel was obviously made for a reason. And we dont see gojo making a decision. Considering the fact that this is literally THE Gojo Satoru, he's more likely to choose north since there's numerous things left as plot holes. We'll get to that.
Tumblr media
Here in this page, he mentions that Toji should've cut his head off to actually kill him. In the leaks, whats cut off is his upper body but not the head! I still can't quite wrap my head around RCT but lets say he's not able to heal himself. You know who can and who would? Yuta and Shoko
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now moving on
Tumblr media
"Gojo then bids farewell to everyone." If hes truly gone then why would he be bidding farewell to the fallen comrades? If he's dead then isn't he supposed to stay in the afterlife with them?
Tumblr media
Pretty self explanatory
Tumblr media
What if Kashimo is going in to distract Sukuna while Shoko and Yuta can heal Gojo?
Now think about this. Gojo is gone, Shoko doesnt fight and who are all left? A bunch of sorcerers who are literally under 20, need guidance and we havent really seen any panel where they actually plan how they're going to go about in the whole battle. Gojo isnt a want, hes a NEED, a NECESSITY.
Remember, Toji who was dead long ago pretty much appeared out of nowhere in Shibuya Arc LMAO so- yes
Tumblr media
WHAT IS THIS EVEN SUPPOSED TO MEAN
Theres no way Gojo would be left sealed for 3 whole years, brought him back just to kill him off in the most disrespectful way possible.
Besides, things that Gojo wanted to do haven't happened yet.
He wanted to tell megumi about his father
He wanted to see his students surpass the strongest sorcerer, aka him
He wanted to get rid of the higher ups
He wanted to properly mourn suguru (for which kenjaku has to be defeated but oh well)
He wanted to save Megumi
Tumblr media
How'd we know what Gojo said here.
On to the other aspects of why killing off Gojo was a bad idea. We barely ever saw what happened to him, and an off screen death to the so called strongest sorcerer is just senseless. Gojo is a fan favourite. People started watching the show for Gojo (myself included) and there's a high possibility of multiple people dropping the manga since he isn't even there anymore.
The ending could take a turn for the worse considering the fact that Sukuna is just overpowered and Kenjaku hasn't done anything as of now. Unless there's some heavy plot armor I dont think the students even stand a chance against Sukuna and Kenjaku. Both outcomes- the students and others emerging as victors or sukuna emerging as a victor could make the ending absolutely terrible and this might as well top AOT for being the manga with the most disliked ending.
Gojo Satoru is the mentor for multiple; for Yuji, Nobara, Megumi, Yuta, Maki, Panda, Toge and the third years and its necessary for them to have someone to teach them. It is one of Satoru's wishes to see his students surpass him, which can happen only when he's there since there's nobody else who is actually capable of teaching them and leading them into the world as actual graduated sorcerers.
So Gojo dying will make the manga take a turn for the worse. Killing him off in the middle makes absolutely no sense and is just plain bad writing. People are prolly gonna kill me for this but lets admit the truth. Hyping this battle, building up tension just to finish him off screen is NOT good writing.
Anyways. There is factual proof of Gojo potentially making a return. Maybe at a cost, like him losing his power, losing his "strongest" title or anything else. He may not even be the same anymore but honestly as long as he's back, I'm fine.
Tumblr media
It happened previously, and could happen again.
Satoru Gojo may not be the strongest and the honoured one, but may be reborn as a newer version of himself after getting humbled. Lotuses, as mentioned above symbolise rebirth, which is why i believe this is not the end.
A small bit of advice for gojo fans: Go watch haikyuu or highschool babysitters as a form of self care <3

[part twelve] to build a home - gojo satoru
Tumblr media
word count: 5.1k warnings: !!manga spoilers!! swearing, jjk-verse style fighting series summary: when (y/n) (y/l/n) catches wind that the notorious sorcerer killer, toji fushiguro, has children, she makes it her personal mission to find them. the catch being she couldn't tell a soul about them- the risk of the zen'in clan learning about them was too great. keeping the secret isn't the hard part, it's lying to her friends, shoko ieiri, geto suguru, and of course gojo satoru, that she struggles with. especially when satoru has suddenly become so keen on keeping an eye on her lately.
series masterlist
[part twelve] : “Those Who Regret, Those Who Deflect, and Those Who Defect” ___
Today was Wednesday.
(y/n’s) fingers drummed against the surface of her desk as she stared at the notebook before her.  Today the entire page was filled with notes, but she hadn’t heard a word Yaga spoke as he blathered on with his lesson.  The notes, dates, and ideas she’d written today were to help clear her overworking mind of the mess she’d gotten herself in.
Bus tickets? She wrote in small letters in a clear space in the corner of her page.  She could probably afford two, at the least.  But could she really send two kids off to who knows where?
She quickly crossed out the idea, hoping to forget it completely.  There was nowhere she could send Megumi and Tsumiki that the Zen’in Clan couldn’t find them.
Her eyes flicked up to the front of the class, feigning attention.  There was only twenty minutes of class, if she could just make it that long without getting called out for her lack of participation, then she could bolt out of there and work somewhere in private for the rest of the day.
Fake deaths? She wondered briefly how difficult it would be to fake a death.  If we set fire to the house and flee the country, could that buy some time, at least?
She made a mental note to do a deep dive on how to get away with arson.
To her luck, Yaga had always been more of a lecturer of a teacher than one who encouraged participation.  So as he droned on, it was easy to act as though she were diligently taking notes.  But he was the only one in that classroom that hadn’t noticed (y/n’s) odd behavior.  Or appearance, for that matter.
When she’d arrived, Shoko had already been in her seat, and her quiet greeting died in her throat as she eyed her friend up and down in pure concern.  She’d never seen (y/n) so disheveled.
Her uniform was wrinkled, and the top few buttons of her collar weren’t even fastened.  Not to mention her hair was clearly unwashed, thrown up with a clip secured at the back of her head- and she didn’t even seem to have the energy to do that properly.  Some strands stuck out awkwardly, and some weren’t even scooped up by the plastic claws of the accessory.
Shoko hadn’t commented on it as she watched (y/n) take her seat and instantly pull out a notebook and pen, as though she had a massive workload to catch up on.  The brown eyed girl chalked it all up to her mission.  She wasn’t even supposed to be back to class today, so she must have been wiped out from the assignment, right?
Even though Shoko decided this must have been the case, she still gnawed on the inside of her cheek with anxiety every time she cast a glance (y/n’s) way during class.  Something in Shoko’s gut told her she wasn’t trying to focus on her studies with the way she scribbled away in fervor.
Satoru had also noticed the storm cloud over (y/n’s) head as soon as he’d shown up to class.  By the time he’d strolled in, his usual whole minute late, she’d already been hard to work in that notebook of hers.  (y/n) wasn’t exactly a stickler for a perfect uniform and appearance, but she was never… messy.
His eyes trailed from the disheveled girl, to Shoko, who was already looking at him with a worried expression.  It clearly told him something was wrong.
Sure, he knew that, he could see that, clear as day.  (y/n) obviously wasn’t trying to hide it.  And sure, seeing her in such a disheveled state was alarming enough to make his sour heart weaken for her.  But when he sat in his seat and noticed Shoko still staring at him, as though asking him to do something, he shrugged his shoulders lamely, and avoided glancing in either of their directions for the rest of the day.
He had other troubles on his mind today, with his best friend being MIA.
It wasn’t surprising to Satoru in the slightest when (y/n) was out of the classroom as soon as Yaga had wrapped up his lesson for the day.
Satoru was next to rush for the door, but was stopped by a short statured Shoko, holding her books to her chest, and staring up at him expectantly, as if she wasn’t the one that got in his way.
He just sighs, and waits for her to speak her piece.
“This is crazy,” She gives in.  “I can’t take all of this anymore.  I mean, with Suguru, with (y/n), I’m going to lose my head” The admission comes out in a sardonic tone, but the look on her face tells him she’s about to cry.
“Shoko, I really don’t want to talk about the rumors.  They’re just rumors” He tells her, and attempts to walk around her, but she’s quick to slide into his way again.
“Fine.  Then let’s talk about (y/n),” She says, placing her hands on her hips.
Satoru fights the urge to groan and throw his head back.  This was the last thing he wanted to do, but if he blew off Shoko he’d only upset her, and he was quickly running out of friends.  So instead of pushing around her- which he could do with ease- he stays put and gives into the uncomfortable conversation.
“Look, she finally talked to me and… and I get it, okay?” Shoko’s voice turns soft with empathy.  “I get that you’re upset, and just so you know, I do not support this either.  I don’t know how she got caught up with the Zen’ins or why but-”
“Woah, backtrack,” Satoru held up his hand, which was enough to silence a now confused Shoko.  His eyes are wide, and every feature of his face unmoving.  Hearing the Zen’in name be brought up in a conversation regarding (y/n) made his blood run cold before freezing altogether.  His mouth dried, cementing in the sour taste of bile.  A minute passes, the two of them standing there staring at each other, each as shocked as the other, and neither knowing what to say now.  “You didn’t just say Zen’ins, right?”
Blinking, her mouth opened to confirm, but as Satoru’s eye twitched with blossoming irritability, Shoko opted to nod her head instead as she fumbled to explain.
“Yeah… I thought… you didn’t know?” She failed to form much of a question at all, her brows furrowing.
“You thought I knew what she was up to!?”
His voice raises, not in anger with the girl in front of him, but with the one that had hidden some seriously detrimental information from him.  Shoko’s flustering in front of him, having believed his fight with (y/n) was about the Zen’ins.  Apparently, her best friend had finally picked up a knack for lying.  Or maybe Shoko really wanted to believe that this time, it was the truth.  Before she gets the chance to start over and explain the whole thing, Satoru’s ranting.
“Hell, Zen’ins?” He mutters, shoving his sunglasses into his hair as he pinches the bridge of his nose.  “What fucking business does she have with them? And why wouldn’t she just come to me for help? God, she’s the most infuriating person, I swear when I find her-”
“Wait, Satoru,” Shoko’s shaking her head, her eyes blown wide in fear.
And also an unease that pumped straight from her heart and through her veins, realizing she now had to break to him.
“She’s not in trouble,” She says, only furthering Satoru’s confusion.
With his brows drawn together and his lips parted in disgusted confusion, he couldn’t think of a single explanation for how she couldn’t be in trouble.  Business with the Zen’in Clan was certain trouble, that much was common sense.
“She’s…” Shoko starts, but trails off, too upset to be the bearer of bad news.
“She’s what?” Satoru nearly snaps at her, but fights the instinct to do so.
Shoko chews on her lip, wishing now that she’d never approached Satoru.
“She… she told me that this is what your fight was about,” She admits instead.  “And it made sense, I’m so sorry, Satoru, I thought you knew.  I thought she told you”
“Told me what?” He’s not usually one to beg, but he’s ready to get on his knees and plead with Shoko to spit it out already.
His eyes are piercing into hers with an intensity she’d rarely gotten to see up close, and she had to admit, the usual pretty cerulean was intimidating.  Even to her.
“She’s seeing one of them”
It’s a whisper, as though she still couldn’t believe the news, even after almost a week of it keeping her up at night.
Satoru’s so still, she’s not sure he’s even heard her.  He doesn’t so much as blink.  He just stares at her.
Unsurely, and uncomfortably, Shoko clarifies.
“They’re courting her, I suppose,” She says, trying to speak louder, more clearly, but her voice refuses to rise above a whisper.  “I guess for the last couple months-”
“No”
It’s the only thing Satoru says, and it seems he’s under the same curse, as it comes out under his breath.  He shakes his head in a small motion of disbelief.
He’s reminded of the way it had felt when (y/n) had removed her hex from him, that small but distinct buzz of her cursed energy vanishing at her will.  He remembered feeling empty once it was gone.  As though it had nestled into a spot in his soul, and when she’d removed it, it left not a mark, but a hole.  He’d lied about the sensation, as not to hurt her feelings.  He wonders now if she’d offered the same pleasantry to him, lying so as not to hurt his feelings.  If only she hadn’t been such a shitty liar.
Shoko’s eyes fill with tears as she watches in real time as he processes this information.  Her heart breaks for him.  Her heart breaks with his.
“I’m- I’m so sorry,” She stammers over her apology as tears burn in her throat and eyes.  “I didn’t want to tell you like this- I- I really didn’t know that you-”
“Don’t be sorry,” Satoru cuts her off, his hand grabbing her elbow reassuringly, so that she knew he wasn’t upset with her.
She knows he means it, but the emotions swirling in his eyes were so bitter, she can’t help but frown.  He’s taken on more bad news than he should have to bear, and she knows he’s strong, the strongest, but even the strongest could only carry so much.  And besides, did being the strongest mean he deserved to take on all of this suffering? Did being the strongest mean he had to take on all of this pain?
“You didn’t know,” He says.  “Thank you, for telling me”
With blurred vision, Shoko nods at him, before hastily wiping the tears from her eyes.
“We got in a fight because she didn’t want to take the Brazil assignment,” He finally confesses.  “She didn’t have a good reason, and (y/n’s) always been a shit liar, so I figured it had to do with, well, that, I guess,” He mutters towards the end, but shakes his head again and keeps going.  “She completely lost it.  I’ve never seen her so mad, and I- I guess I didn’t help, but… but I just…” He sighs, taking the sunglasses off his head so he could run a hand through his hair.
“I know,” Shoko chimed in softly.  “I was worried too”
“Why… why couldn’t she just tell me?” He asked, knowing there wasn’t an answer.  Not one Shoko could give him anyways.
“I mean… it’s not like we’re taking this well” She half-jokes, but even the chuckle she attempts dies in her throat with an awkward croak.
“No, I’m upset, I’m… I’m pissed,” He admits.  “But.. but if way back then she would have just said something…”
“I still would’ve been pissed,” Shoko says with confidence.  “I don’t know who it is she’s seeing, I don’t know any details at all but I don’t need to,” She shrugs her shoulders limply.  “I know she can’t possibly be in love with the guy, I mean-”
Before she can finish her thought, Shoko shuts her mouth immediately.  Satoru didn’t need to hear her opinion on who was or wasn’t right for (y/n).  It wasn’t important now, since she’d made her choice.
And it was almost as if she could see the heartbreak, the disappointment, and the jealousy in his eyes, mixing into a dangerously depressing cocktail.
“Sorry,” She mumbles sheepishly.  “But… just so you know, I was rooting for you guys,”
Satoru blinks, his expression going blank with perfect precision of his microexpressions.  Shoko and Suguru had spent a lot of time teasing him for the way he spoke about (y/n), or treated her, and sometimes even the way he looked at her.  But he’d never actually admitted the way he’d felt about her, not out loud.
Clearly no matter how much he’d brushed off their comments with an eye roll or a joke, Shoko had seen through the act.
Or maybe she was only saying this now because she could see the way this news was hitting him directly in the heart.  Had he really become so vulnerable, that he would be that easy to read?  Was he really becoming this weak?
Shoko’s eyes are sad as she’s the one to reach out to him now, placing a hand on his shoulder and offering the tiniest of smiles.
“I really thought that you were growing into each other… you know?” She tells him gently.  “She cared- cares,” She corrects herself quickly, and pauses to make sure she doesn’t make a mistake like that again.  “She cares about you a lot, she needs you, you know”
There was a time when hearing this, Satoru might have gotten a little lovesick.  Maybe he would have even done something about it, too.  He could have sworn, somewhere between the playful banter, the nights he spent in her room, the alone time they had started sharing more and more, that she had felt the same way.  He could have sworn.  It couldn’t have all been in his head, it couldn’t have been fabricated, because she was there.
She was there when he took her to breakfast, and they strolled through the shops in Tokyo all day, laughing, chatting, and maybe even flirting.  She was there when he’d wake her from her nightmares, holding her, comforting her, cooing to her until she’d fall back asleep.  She was there for all the banter that ended with a gleam in her eye, for all of the times that he’d peek over to her only to find her eyes already locked on him.  Whether or not she harbored the same feelings for him that he had for her, almost didn’t matter, because when those feelings of his would arise, she was there for it, so she had to feel it on some level, right?
Was it really all just a trick? None of it had been real?
“That’s not what she told me when she told me to fuck off,” He finally grumbles in bitterness.  “I think it’s pretty fuckin’ clear just how much she-”
“Talk to her again” Shoko cut him off, her words quiet, but encouraging.
His brows furrow at her, silently asking her if she’s crazy.
“She doesn’t-”
“Try,” Shoko speaks over him again, pleading now.  “Please, try.  I can’t lose any more friends, Satoru.  I can’t have you two fall apart, it can’t be like this forever,”
A tear slips down her cheek, and Satoru watches as it catches on her jaw and slides to her chin.  By the time it drops, more tears are spilling from her eyes.
“I need us to be okay, I need us to stick together,” She admits, her whimpering voice cracking, but she doesn’t care about keeping her composure anymore.
All she could think about was how this choice (y/n) had made seemed to affect every single one of them, even though she’d chosen to keep it private.  How much it had hurt her, and how much it was hurting Satoru now.  If Suguru were here, Shoko was sure he would be upset about this predicament as well.  The privacy, the lies, it only made things worse.  Shoko didn't know where she stood with her anymore.
“We’re best friends,” Shoko mumbles.  “Right?”
Satoru nods, and pulls her hand from his shoulder, only to reach his arms out and hug her tightly.  Shoko wrapped her own arms around him in the same motion, clinging onto him and hoping he could feel every ounce of comfort and kindness she could possibly pour into the hug.
They don’t say anything. ___
As soon as (y/n) was in the privacy of her dorm, where she could lock her door and put the outside world on hold for a minute, she made her way to her desk.
Pulling open a drawer and lifting the mess of papers to reach underneath, she sighs as she pulls out the hidden envelope.  There wasn’t much of a reason to be digging for it now, seeing as it’s contents were seared into her memory like a white hot brand, but something drove her to opening it once more.
The wax seal with the Zen’ins’ crest stamped into the fold of the envelope was still intact, but no longer keeping it glued shut.  Any stickiness it once had was now worn away from overuse.
(y/n’s) fingers worked on muscle memory, her eyes shut as she pulled out the letter inside, unfolding it and smoothing the creases between the pads of her fingers.  When her eyes opened, the same message was before her.
No matter how much she hoped it would change, it hadn’t.  No matter how many times she's read it, it still held all the same letters, all the same punctuation, all the same slant of the crosses through the t's.  Still, she wished it hadn't.  She’d rather accept schizophrenic delusions than what this letter contained.
The sigh she let out racked through her whole body, bringing her into a slump over her desk.
Like clockwork, she scanned through the words.  Hoping to catch something she hadn’t seen before, even though she’d given up sleep to read and re-read this letter, until her morning alarm had shocked her from her stupor.
Still, it remained the same.
It’s come to our attention that the child of Fushiguro Toji is being harbored at this household.  If the boy has developed his cursed technique, he is to be returned to his proper place with the Zen’in Clan at once.  Failure to do so will be treated as an act of defiance- and anyone involved will be punished to the fullest extent of Jujutsu Sorcerer Code.  We expect him returned  and in good health by three days.
Otherwise, we will take the matter into our own hands- and we will collect him.
- Naobito Zen’in
The amount of times her eyes have burned the image of his words into her mind is unknown to her, but after a few minutes she folds it back up neatly at it’s creases, tucks it back into it’s envelope, and carefully places it in it’s hiding spot at the bottom of her desk drawer.
It dawns on her that no amount of plotting and running would ever work.  The Zen’ins were smarter than any plan she could come up with, no matter how thought out, no matter how perfect, they would always catch up to her.  She alone wasn’t enough to outsmart them.
And even if she did, where did that put her? On the lamb with two kids that she could barely afford to support- who weren’t even hers, which was a whole other load of risks- and she’d have to say goodbye to being a jujutsu sorcerer.  Best case scenario she works two jobs to pay bills, put food on the table, all while having to keep an eye over her shoulder for any sign of threat.  This was all assuming the Fushiguro kids would even want her to do this.
It reminded her that she still had to decide what she was going to tell them about this letter- or if she was going to tell them about this letter.  They weren’t nearly old enough for the whole truth, and if (y/n) was honest with herself, she wasn’t ready to tell them the whole truth.
Hell, I couldn’t even tell them their Dad was dead.  They had to come to assume that on their own.  Not that this news seemed to shock them, or bother them in the slightest.
Leaning over her desk and grabbing fistfuls of her hair, she tried to focus on one thought at a time.  But with a mountain of issues and only three days to figure out how to get out of them, the anxiety was beginning to consume her more than ever before.
Running away wasn’t an option.  She couldn’t win if she ran away.  And besides, it wasn’t her style, she was never one to run from a fight.
This secret of yours, is it worth your life?
When Suguru had asked her this, she didn’t have an answer.  When she’d returned to the Fushiguro household after her overseas assignment and had been overcome with relief that they had been safe in her absence, she was certain she’d do anything to protect them.
Now that this letter had found it’s way to her, she had her answer in mind.  Crystal clear.  In a void of anxiety, rage, and paranoia, it was a certainty she could anchor herself to.
This was worth her life.  Megumi and Tsumiki, they were worth her life.  She didn’t know it three months ago when she’d found them, that they would become such an important part of her life.  She didn’t know it when she’d overheard the Sorcerer Killer briefly mention something about children- that she would be their sole provider and that she would step into the shoes he left at the door when he’d abandoned them.  She never knew that deep down, there was a part of her that knew Tsumiki and Megumi were hers now.
(y/n) didn’t know that when she’d begun her search for them, eight months ago, that it had come with a vow to protect the both of them as if they were her own, and now it was time for her to keep her word, and do she had to in order to protect them.
Her feet moved on their own accord, it seemed, as she flew through the corridors and sidewalks of Jujutsu Tech’s campus towards the gym, concerning the few scattered underclassmen who hung around in the courtyard during their freetime.
The run was winding, but it was only a warm up compared to the rigorous training she was going to have to put herself through if she had even a chance of taking on the Zen’in Clan. ___
The swords strapped to (y/n’s) back never felt heavier.
In fact, until now, she’s not sure she’s ever noted their weight on her back.  Maybe when she had first started practicing with them as a First Year.  But it felt like ever since she’d first picked them up, she’d never felt a desire to put them down.  With her cursed technique being difficult to master and not always reliable on an assignment, her weapons were her greatest strength, and she wielded them with a tremendous amount of comfort and confidence.
They were an extension of her.  Like an extra set of limbs, her swords were something she could control on muscle memory, with no real though, no second guess, they swung through the air on their own accord.  The moment she’d picked them up during her first year, they’d been her most prized possession.
Now, as she walked back to her dorm from her rough training session, she was all too aware of their weight.
Her hair that had been neatly tied up at the beginning of her workout was starting to come undone, messy strands falling around her face, a few sticking to the sheen of sweat that covered her forehead.  No matter how many times she’d pushed them back, they’d fall again.  Eventually, she gave into the minor annoyance and let the loose strands stick to her face.  She was heading straight for the shower in her dorm, anyway.
Despite her heaving chest and aching muscles, it was a good session.  Her assignment in Brazil had humbled her, reminded her that she had been avoiding training, instead spending most of her free time sneaking into town, and the rest of her free time trying to convince everyone around her that she wasn’t up to anything shady.  That had been exhausting enough.  Now she was going to throw her substantial and detailed training routine back into the mix.
With a groan, (y/n) rolled her shoulder, hoping she hadn’t actually pulled a muscle, but had just overworked one that hadn’t been properly used in a while.  She brought her hand up to the junction between her arm and shoulder, feeling around as she stretched and rolled the tired limb, trying to gauge for herself if she’d need heat, or ice first.
It was a familiar holler of her name that pulled her from her internal debate, and she glanced toward the voice to see Yaga across the yard with his arm raised to get her attention.
Beside him, leaning against the wall of the building of now empty classrooms, was Satoru.
Both of them had their usual sunglasses perched on their noses, but only one of them seemed to be looking her way.
Puzzled, she slowly made her way over to them, wondering what business Yaga could have that involved the both of them.  Satoru only went on solo missions these days, and there was no chance her teacher was shoving another assignment on her plate when she hadn’t scrubbed away the eye bags from the last one.
(Sure, she hadn’t done herself any favors, but he didn’t have to know that)
“I’m glad I caught you,” Yaga greeted when (y/n) was in earshot.  Her eyes briefly shot from her teacher, to Satoru, who still wasn’t paying her any attention, and then back to Yaga.  “Although I’m sorry to say it’s not great news I have for you two”
(y/n’s) brow furrowed in the slightest, at a loss with guessing what this could be about.
“Bad news?” She mumbled, more to herself than to either of the people beside her.
Yaga speaks, and (y/n) hears him.  She takes in the words he says, follows the movement of his mouth and the microexpressions of his face as he speaks.  There’s no background noise that he has to speak over, and his tone isn’t quiet.  It’s clear, and certain.  There’s no reason she shouldn’t register every word he says.
But he stops, and her ears are ringing, and her heart is beating so hard, so loud in her chest, that she finds herself mumbling, “what?”
“Don’t make me say it again,” Yaga sighs, and it doesn’t sound harsh like the words might imply.  He sounds defeated.  (y/n) can see in his face that he truly doesn’t want to repeat himself.  With every fiber of his being, he doesn’t want to speak it into existence, thus acknowledging what he was saying was true.
Again, when he speaks, (y/n’s) expression remains frozen.  Her eyes are wide, her jaw is dropped open, and at her sides, her hands are curling into fists.  Any thought of her swords being heavy on her back have left her mind, as there is no physical weight greater than learning of the horrors someone you once loved was capable of comitting.  It’s as though the rest of the world is disappearing little by little, and it’s just the three of them here, experiencing the same earth shattering revelation.
“Suguru fled after killing everyone in the village,”
(y/n) wants to turn to Satoru, maybe to gauge his reaction, maybe to reach out and offer some semblance of comfort, she’s not sure.  It doesn’t matter, as she’s unable to move in the slightest.  Her feet are glued, her arms are stiff, and the only movement on her entire body is a slight twitch at the corner of her left eye.
“Suguru’s parents’ home is vacant as well,” Yaga continues, and it’s clear that he’s doing everything in his power to keep his voice even.  “However, from the bloodstains and the residuals… it seems he might have done the same to his parents”
He pauses, the heavy words hang in the air between the three like a poisonous gas.  It’s thick, suffocating, and a devastating slice of reality that just couldn’t be true.
(y/n) had just talked to Suguru.  It’s the first thought that skitters across her darkening mind.  It’s just as quickly replaced with a drop in her gut, which could only be her heart plummeting to it’s untimely end.
Everything he’d told her that day replayed in her memories.  And suddenly, all the odd things he’d said appeared to her as red flags.  The unsettling feeling that had crept down her spine that day now came back in a full body shiver.
It’s the first noticeable movement she’s made since Yaga had broken the news.  Satoru’s eyes land on her due to this, and they remain on her as their teacher continues to explain the situation.  Although it seems he doesn’t have much more information.
“Satoru… (y/n)...” The man sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose in a desperate attempt to keep his composure in front of his students.  “I also… have no idea what is going on”
There’s not much more for him to say.  He apologizes to them both afterwards.  But he can’t stand there and watch as tears gather in (y/n’s) eyes and rage begins to seep into Satoru’s facial features.  So he tells them the higher ups will do the best they can, and then leaves them.
Logically, (y/n) knows she should be having a panic attack right about now.  Not just from the news alone, but the guilt that had crashed over her and was now pumping through her bloodstream.  Suguru had laid out what he’d been going through right in front of her, and she hadn’t been able to pick up on the obvious signs because she’d been so focused on her own issues.
With a shaky hand, she covered her mouth, afraid that she might break into  a sob if she didn’t physically stop herself.
She hadn’t turned to Satoru yet, hadn’t noticed the way he was carefully watching every moment of her grief processing.  If she had, she might have seen the way his hand was inching forward, his body having a mind of its own when it came to her.
Even if he had reached out to her- taken her hand or pulled her into his body and never ever letting go- Satoru doesn’t think it’s a good idea.  With the bomb that had been dropped on them both, he couldn’t possibly try to calculate how such an action would cause (y/n) to react.
The last time he’d watched grief strike her, she had barely been consolable for days.  He couldn’t have her shutting down, not right away, anyways.
Her phone rings, the sudden break in the heavy atmosphere causing both of them to flinch, just a little bit.
Instinct tells her to decline it, but seeing it’s Shoko, (y/n) swipes right to answer and she has the phone to her ear in seconds.
“Shoko, thank god, listen, I need to-”
“(y/n),” The girl on the other line cuts her off, and the grave tone in which she says her name is enough for (y/n) to shut her mouth.  “You need to find Satoru, and you need to come meet with me.  Right.  Now”
They don’t exchange more than the location in town that Shoko had been, the lack of context filling itself between the gaps.
(y/n’s) hands tremble as she secures her phone in her pocket and turns to Satoru.  He notices her jaw is also trembling, in the slightest anxious movement.  She doesn’t have to explain the escalating situation, he’d been right there, he’d heard the whole thing, but still, she finds herself stammering over her words as she tries anyway.
“Shoko- she’s- I think she’s with him- at- somewhere in town- um- outside-”
Satoru steps forward, closing a significant amount of space between them.  (y/n) stops talking immediately, and doesn’t try to explain herself again.
For a brief moment, but finally, they look at one another.
Her eyes are full of tears, but somehow she’d kept herself from actually letting herself cry in front of him.  Her lip wobbles and she looks like she desperately wants to say something, but the words just don’t come out.  He holds her gaze, and every bone in his body is screaming at him to comfort her.  To say something to do something just to make sure she won’t cry.
But he’s just as lost as she is, and he knows all too well that there were no words that could put her at ease in this moment.
Instead, he reaches out and takes both of her hands in his, holding on tightly as what comes next wasn’t exactly pleasant for the person he brought with him.
Teleporting alone was as easy as breathing, almost second nature.  Being a sort of carry-on to someone else who was teleporting always seemed to bring on a wave of motion sickness.
(y/n’s) hands squeeze his to prepare herself for the oncoming discomfort.  Even though what came after the dizziness would be much, much more sickening.
“I’m taking us right now” Satoru tells her. ___

like the branch of a tree – s. geto x reader
contents: canon divergence (suguru lives and is a teacher at jj tech), fluff, ooc, reader is also a teacher at jj tech, not mentioned but insinuated satosugu, insinuated nsfw, brief mentions of third years and possible manga spoilers, title is based off of 'would that i' by hozier, NOT PROOFREAD
a/n: this is my first time posting on tumblr, i'm nervous LMAO sorry for any grammatical errors
shoko is quiet as she sits next to you at a slight angle, her knees bumping into yours as the two of you look at her phone together. the two of you look at the silly selfie satoru had sent her and you frown a little. the picture he’d sent depicted him sitting on a bench in a weirdly rundown part of town, megumi pouting next to him. in the background there’s a copper haired girl peering outside of an old, beat down building with yuuji next to her. you know there’s a curse somewhere on the scene from satoru’s crudely drawn red circle in the air, an equally poorly drawn angry face in the center of it.
you’re a little envious that satoru gets to hang out with his students. if kinji hakari hadn’t been suspended you’d be with both him and kirara. of course you didn’t have to supervise their missions anymore but you did admittedly miss your students. you were the only teacher on campus that wasn’t teaching–which was debatable seeing as suguru and satoru weren’t really teaching anything either. still, helping your students through some of the basic required educational courses would have been significantly better than the stacks of paperwork on your desk.
shoko knocks her knee into yours, drawing your attention to her tired (but very pretty) face. she nods her head towards the door of the morgue and you instantly brighten at suguru’s appearance. his hair is completely down and his uniform jacket is draped over his arm.
“morning,” he greets as he moves to sit next to you and shoko. “‘m guessing you two saw satoru’s selfie.” he nods towards shoko’s still unlocked phone as she hums in agreement and pockets her phone.
“your hair’s down,” you say in response instead, not having heard his previous statement.
suguru cocks his head to the side in confusion at your words before letting out a soft ‘ah’ as he laughs bashfully in a somewhat boyish way. “i woke up late,” he admits, “i slept through my alarm and got to the school a little after the morning class.” he smiles somewhat awkwardly (pointedly ignoring shoko’s knowing look, her raised brow seemingly yelling, “i know what you and satoru were doing last night!”) before offering his wrist, “i was gonna put it up when I got here.” his smile turns from awkward to somewhat confident when he finds you blinking up at him, captivated by his long hair.
you look towards his still outstretched hand and eye the black hair tie before shyly looking back up at suguru. when your eyes meet, an unreadable look crosses through his eyes as he swallows. he looks towards shoko behind you as she smoothly pulls her phone out again, an unlit cigarette in between her lips.
“may i?” you ask, drawing his attention back towards you as you gesture towards his hair and he almost immediately agrees. when he offers you his hair tie again you softly shake your head and pull a bright blue one off of your wrist. he pretends to be blind to the tiny little bow on it as he shifts so his back is towards you.
as you’re doing suguru’s hair, shoko texts satoru an image of you with the tip of your tongue out and your hands threaded through suguru’s long hair. she gets a jealous angry frowny face in response.
that’s MY hair tie!! >:(
notes: satoru is the first years' teacher, suguru is the second years', and you're the third years'. satoru made you play with his hair after he got back on campus. he said it was only fair because you'd given suguru the hair tie he'd given you. maki made a face when she saw suguru's hair later in the day. she asked if the twins had done it for him.

Thoughts & Speculations On Utahime In The Shinjuku Showdown Arc
WARNING: MANGA SPOILERS & HIGH LEVELS OF COPIUM
Tumblr media
There are theories going around about Gojo's potential revival & subsequent defeat of Sukuna. Several are interesting & seemingly possible. However, I've hardly seen any involving Utahime & her potential role in all this. While I shouldn't be hoping for anything in this manga 😩, I couldn't help but get some ideas.
With some of the theories out there, I wouldn't want Gojo to sacrifice part of his power in order to come back. But who knows at this rate...? Would Gege let him come back even more powerful? Or only temporarily before losing all, half, or some of his power? I don't want him to lose an eye or something like that... 😮‍💨
Once he returns, what will be the next step to defeat Sukuna? Gojo may get a new power-up or even has something else up his sleeve that he hasn't revealed yet.
This is why I wonder if Utahime could still have a role to play in this arc. She's the only character involved who hasn't gotten a flashback yet with, or in regards to, Gojo. She hasn't even spoken a word! Does this mean anything? Is Gege withholding something important? Will it come into play at all?
She's barely had any screen/panel time & was absent for 3 arcs spanning several chapters since Shibuya. Gege finally revealed her CT for the biggest fight of Gojo's life against the King of Curses. She helped Gojo achieve 200% Hollow Purple along with Gakuganji, while Ijichi hid them from Sukuna's view with a barrier.
They really come in a set, don't they? Every one of her appearances is related to Gojo. She is bound to him. So you see, we may next see her whenever Gojo is about to, or has already, returned.
Neither her, Gakuganji or Ijichi have reappeared since.
It's been 20+ chapters now & we know nothing of their status. Is this the last time we'll see them, especially Utahime, in action? Do they still have another role to play? They have not been shown to be back with the others at HQ, which implies they're still out on the battlefield.
What have they been doing all this time? Watching the fight unfold? Is it just taking them a while to head back to HQ? Or could it be that they're potentially doing something important?
Chapter 244 showcased a flashback scene with the other characters having a meeting before the fight regarding the possibilities of Gojo's defeat. Neither GojoHime, Gakuganji or Ijichi were seemingly present.
Tumblr media
Unless the two people behind Shoko here could be either of them? The one in black could be Gojo & next to him is Utahime, or could it be Gakuganji?
Tumblr media
If not, this could imply they were doing planning of their own, maybe in a separate room. That planning is the key.
Clearly, GojoHime (& maybe Gakuganji) must've practiced the Hollow Purple throughout the weeks-long timeskip since Gojo's unsealing. But is that all they did? Is there something else that they planned? The fact they're not back at HQ could imply this. It almost seems deliberate that there's no involvement of them with the others... unless Gege really doesn't care.
Gojo told Sukuna at the beginning of their fight that he did some "special training."
Tumblr media
What could this special training be? It hasn't been brought up again. Did it involve Utahime & maybe Gakuganji? This further showcases that Gojo's role isn't over yet.
Now, there are theories that Shoko may heal Gojo with her RCT. If so, could Uta help by buffing her to make it quicker & more effective?
We know so little about Uta's CT. Gege stated singing is a big part of it (unless it's just the chanting?). Could it be used for healing (kinda like Rapunzel from Tangled, lol)? What about offensive abilities? How else would she be a Semi-Grade 1 sorcerer if she can't fight on her own? Is it possible, though? We know she has good reflexes based on her encounter with Haruta at the Goodwill Event. Maybe she's good at hand-to-hand combat & wielding weapons? Heck, can she weaponize her voice like a siren?
When Uta buffs someone, does her cursed energy cover them like a blanket? Does it feel a certain way? Is it visible to other sorcerers or does it become one with the buffed person's own CE so that it's undetectable?
If her CE is visible, wouldn't Sukuna (especially as powerful as he is) have sensed it enmeshed with Gojo's? Instead, he thought Gojo's initial HP was a lot stronger than usual due to a Binding Vow (which we know Gojo didn't make) in chapter 234.
Tumblr media
Since Ijichi made a barrier that hid him & the others from view, Sukuna doesn't know about them. If he couldn't sense Uta's CE, that could also mean she might not have been buffing Gojo after the HP. How long is her full range anyway?
Speaking of Ijichi, Gojo told him he had a monumental task in chapter 222 before the timeskip.
Tumblr media
As then shown in a flashback in 223, it seems it was just to put up the barrier to hide them, Uta & Gakuganji from Sukuna.
Tumblr media
Does this mean that Gojo planned their team-up that early after he got unsealed? 🤔 The flashback here has Gojo in casual wear & the place looks similar to the inside of the Tokyo Tower. Could this mean they were headed to Shibuya Sky, the top of the tower, to practice or simply strategize, & maybe meet up with Uta & Gakuganji?
Still, why did Gojo place such importance to this task? Was it just to establish the trust he has for Ijichi despite his antics?
Was it to keep Utahime safe? Not just about the barrier?
So, I've been having these questions for a while now. Here's where my delulu really kicks in.
Absolute insanity mode. You've been WARNED.
There are theories discrediting the fact Sukuna doesn't know about Uta's CT, that it's NOT why he thinks Gojo made a Binding Vow to achieve 200% HP. I know I'm crazy, but I think him not knowing could come into play.
Other than potentially helping Shoko heal Gojo, could Utahime have a hand in bringing him back? Maybe she could even buff Gojo's own RCT, in the case it's still activated (since Gojo's head's still intact). If Gojo is meant to be truly enlightened upon his return, almost like a god, then wouldn't Uta being a shrine maiden mean something? Shrine maidens dance for the gods, communicate with them, summon them.
DELULU THEORY 1:
This scene in chapter 222 made me wonder if Ino told Gojo about him witnessing the summoning of a dead person (which we know is Toji) in Shibuya, as there's been no follow-up to it yet...
Tumblr media
If it's about Toji, did Gojo get the idea that in the case of him "dying", then his soul could be summoned back into his body? And with no side effects as it's his own body, and/or that as long as it's done immediately upon "death"? Is this something that could have been researched?
Since Ino knows a form of necromancy, could he possibly have a role to play in this as well? With his help, could Uta along with Gakuganji do a similar ritual as the granny who summoned Toji in Shibuya?
If Uta sings or chants for the ritual, could Gojo hear her in the limbo & follow her voice or something? Could she guide him north towards enlightenment, make him remember (or realize) who he is & what he has to do, in the case he's temporarily forgotten? 🫢 (delulu, I know, I KNOW 😩)
There's a song called North Wing by Akina Nakamori, the artist who sang Kinku, which is the song that Uta's CT is based on. It was her 7th single released the year after Kinku (7?! A number associated with Gojo?!). It was then re-recorded years later on an album titled 'Utahime Double Decade' (Akina is nicknamed Utahime, meaning Diva in Japan). The lyrics talk about a woman who boards a plane to meet with her lover. Here's an excerpt:
Love Is The Mystery It calls me Love is a mystery With its mysterious power I’m an Airplane, throwing everything away Like a scene out of a movie North Wing I depart all alone tonight For where he is Someone I once gave up on Teardrops, my heart’s punctuation I watch the city lights from above As they get smaller and smaller I take a midnight flight, chasing the night through the fog As if I were wandering through a dream Love Is The Mystery I spread my wings And cross the shining seas. I’m a little nervous The date paints over yesterday Which was nothing but agonizing for you The foggy city you live in Awaits me beneath the clouds
Let's see. If we see it in Uta's POV, then she might've thought loving Gojo was not worth it (as loving someone like him wouldn't be easy), but something happened that changed her mind, maybe before/during the time-skip, or seeing his "death." She could be headed to meet him, meaning to help him? It says at midnight, so could Gojo be revived the following day on Christmas? It mentions yesterday was agonizing for him, meaning his "death" & the fact of whose body/vessel he's fighting?
What if we low-key see it in Gojo's POV? His love for his students (and Utahime?) will make him choose North to return to them. He'll leave his past behind, making peace with it, & depart all alone, as the others in the limbo are going South. He knows everyone must be sad over his "death" (the 'agonizing' part) but he's coming home.
There is also a sequel song to this called Dramatic Airport - North Wing Part II. The lyrics are about a (the same?) woman on her way to meet up with her man at the airport, reuniting with him at night. So, could we see it as Utahime heading towards Gojo to help him, to be there for him on his 2nd awakening?
(There's this amazing theory here, which talks about the possibility of Utahime helping Gojo reach true enlightenment like Buddha's wife did for him in Buddhist myths.)
DELULU THEORY 2:
If Gojo returns through some other means, then that gives us another possibility. He's the only one who knows the location of Sukuna's last finger. What if Gojo had told its location to Utahime & co. (maybe even Ino)? What if their absence in the flashbacks of everyone else making plans is because they were retrieving the finger? And what would they do with it, you ask?
Could it be they had planned & are currently making the preparations for a ritual like the one I mentioned, in which they'll summon Sukuna into another vessel by using the finger? Or simply give it to someone to swallow? And could that vessel possibly be Yuuji, as he's the only one who can really handle harboring Sukuna?
It's scary to think of what this could mean, though... 😥 I will not delve into that.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Anyway, I know I'm fully delulu & may be burning the kitchen, but I just wanted to get this out there. The theories and speculations are rampant these days so might as well add some more to the bunch.
I know for Utahime, a literal side character, to have a major role in the most important fight of Gojo's life, is too much to hope for. Gege also doesn't have a good streak with giving importance to his female characters (except Maki). Then again...no one expected Utahime, after a long absence, to finally reappear with Gojo the chapter after he got unsealed & having her CT finally revealed for him against Sukuna. Just what is Gege trying to say?
Whatever the outcome, I still have so many questions...
What was Utahime even doing during her long absence since Shibuya? As the main teacher of Kyoto, & all these crazy things happening to her students, not a single peep from her?! Was she training?! Put under protection because of her CT or cuz Gojo would have their heads if something happened to her? Buffing people secretly somehow?
How did she end up teaming up with Gojo? Did he ask for her help, like when he did to investigate the traitor? What did he say? Did he finally fess up & tell her what she means to him? Gakuganji & Ijichi got their flashbacks, Gojo showing them his true feelings/thoughts, so what could this mean for Utahime?! That he trusts her too? That he doesn't find her weak? Did he apologize for his constant teasing? Could he have said something more?
Did she offer to help him? Did he refuse & Uta insisted, giving a sort of speech that shut him up?
Just what happened between Gojo & Utahime during the time-skip?! 😫 Is the fact we haven't been shown yet deliberate?!
I wonder if Gege will ever give us this much, at least... 😮‍💨
While I'd like for her to do more, I just hope Uta will be safe. I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to her like nearly every other female character in this manga... 😥
LET'S HOPE FOR GOJO'S REVIVAL ✊️

i’ll go see you again tomorrow (spring is coming to an end) ; sashisu
[ part i - spring ; satoru gojo ]
synopsis; a snippet of the spring you share with a certain satoru gojo, who seems intent on making your high school life as difficult as possible.
word count; 5.9k
contents; satoru gojo/reader, gn!reader, enemies to friends but the ’enemy’ part is kinda one-sided, wholesome n sweet overall, no curses au, gojo doesn’t know how to make friends and thinks lighthearted bullying constitutes as a bonding activity, reader doesn’t like gojo at first but dw they see the light eventually
a/n; the shoujo manga vibes are v heavy w/ this part i think. high school gojo was born to shoujo but forced to shounen </3
Tumblr media
satoru gojo is annoying.
blunt as it may seem, it’s a conclusion you reach fairly quickly. when you first met him, you weren’t sure what to think, what to feel — a deliberate choice, on his part. looking back on it now, that’s the conclusion you come to.
he wanted to appear unreadable. purposefully hiding his personality and mannerisms, to gain the upper hand. observing all of you, dissecting you inside his mind, while revealing nothing about himself apart from his name. it’s a kind of power, a safety measure.
not like it lasted very long, though.
evidently, holding back isn’t exactly gojo’s forte. after only a day or two, he began to show his true colours, having gotten more accustomed to the new environment and classmates — and with the revelation of his genuine personality, your unease around him festered even more.
where do you even begin to describe him? he’s childish, for one. and cocky. loud, arrogant. selfish and flamboyant. just generally an asshole. you could go on and on; none of the traits are particularly flattering, and you know he couldn’t care less.
gojo is annoying, plain and simple. almost constantly trying to pick a fight with someone, uninterested in manners or even common courtesy. he says what he feels, regardless of how other people take it.
to put it simply, he has no regard for the people around him. his self-interest is limitless.
gojo does have a certain presence, though. a kind of charisma, or what you think could become charisma, if he’d just get off that high horse already. he won’t, though — you know he won’t. he revels in it, in looking down on everything and everyone, annoyingly boisterous and irritatingly tall.
most frustrating of all, however, is that his unbridled confidence isn’t exactly unwarranted.
as much as it pains you to say it, gojo is maybe just a little bit incredible. a natural-born genius, even. he’s intelligent, and observant, and awfully pretty, with those blue eyes and that snowy hair.
and he has no issue in getting what he wants. none whatsoever.
there’s something admirable about it, in a twisted way — it’s almost like he doesn’t even need to try. he’s good at anything, if he just gives it a single chance. evidently, he’s never once given a chance to the prospect of being a decent guy, then.
effortlessly perfect, in the most imperfect of ways. that’s probably how you’d describe him.
annoying is still the most fitting word, though, undoubtedly. or maybe obnoxious. he’s got this spoiled rich kid vibe that irks you, gets under your skin. you doubt he’s ever had to empathize with anyone else in his entire life.
really, you don’t understand how geto can put up with him.
gojo said something to him, during your first week of school. what, you aren’t sure — probably some rude, untoward comment, something taunting. shoko told you about it, but you don’t know the details.
what you do know is that they fought about it, physically. and that ever since then, they’ve been on a first-name basis, attached at the hip. it’s not often you see one of the two without the other. evidently, the fight brought them closer. you think they must be at least a little bit insane, but maybe that’s to be expected of kids who’d choose some weird boarding school in the middle of nowhere over a more orthodox choice.
(not like you’re one to talk, though.)
geto is a little better than his best friend, at least. he’s polite, and relaxed, and easy to talk to, only ever annoying when gojo’s around. you don’t know how he manages to put up with him so well, but you get the sense that he’s the only one who really understands gojo. the only one who even tries to.
you haven’t even attempted to do so, yourself. fondness wasn’t something you held for him, from the very beginning, but every interaction between the two of you only serves to make him more and more insufferable in your eyes.
gojo is annoying to basically everyone, always teasing and taunting, looking down from that high horse of his. and you’re certainly no exception — if anything, he’s even worse with you.
you know he looks down on you, from behind those tacky sunglasses. you’re not as self-assured as your classmates, and you think he must have sensed it, the moment he laid eyes on you. that you’re a little meek, a bit of a doormat, easy to push around and get a rise out of. maybe he also noticed your apprehension towards him, your apparent unease.
you’re easy prey, to put it simply.
so as soon as introductions were over, gojo immediately began to push at your buttons. grinning in that cocky fashion, not bothering to hide what he thought of you in the slightest. the first words that came out of his mouth when he spoke to you were rude ones, but you can’t quite recall them, muddled together with every other unneeded comment that he’s thrown your way since.
his behavior hasn’t gotten better, even in the slightest. gojo is always teasing you, annoying you, trying to figure out what makes you tick. almost like he’s solving an equation — the equation being you, the limit of your patience.
evidently, he’s developed a fondness for getting under your skin; it’s your own fault, really, for giving him what he wants. a scoff, a roll of your eyes, an earnest fuck right off. if you were more like shoko or geto, then maybe he’d leave you alone — if you could just brush him off, ignore him, not give him the time of day. deny him one of those reactions he loves so much.
but you’re not shoko. and you’re not geto, either. you’re you, and you’ve always been particularly bad at hiding what you feel.
it’s not like you hate him, or anything. you really have tried to get along with him. but it’s impossible, at the end of the day. gojo is just too good at being annoying.
and, more than anything, he’s far too out of reach. you can state his negative traits without a hitch, as well as his begrudgingly positive ones, but all of them are surface level when you get down to it. in truth, you don’t understand satoru gojo at all.
and that suits you just fine.
you’re just gonna have to live with it. live with him, his presence in your life, disrupting what should have been your peaceful high school years. your new start.
it sucks, but you’ve already resigned yourself to it. having to deal with him every day is annoying, yes, but what can you do? at least you get along well enough with shoko and geto. at this point, you’ve decided to treat gojo like an annoying little toddler, or an irritating pest. someone to put up with, not take seriously.
for a pest, he’s awfully good at making you angry, though. you can never seem to maintain your composure, when he’s around. it’s not always a bad thing — the banter can be funny, sometimes. just a tiny bit. doesn’t make it any less infuriating, though.
and in the state you’re currently in, you doubt you could handle it without popping a blood vessel or two.
a heavy sigh flows from your parted lips, as you examine your blurry reflection in the mirror. fatigue clings to your skin like a layer of sweat, and your mind is muddled, stuffed with anxious thoughts you’d rather not be having.
you feel thoroughly exhausted, completely spent. and the day’s barely begun. you didn’t get a wink of sleep last night, unable to slip into sleep’s embrace without being awoken by an abrupt nightmare.
and it’s painfully evident. in your face, your posture. in the paleness of your skin, only making your vague eyebags more noticeable, and in the way you can’t help but drag your legs slightly as you walk. in your disheveled hair, in every sigh and grumble you let slip as you try to blink the exhaustion away. you just feel so tired, both physically and mentally.
it could be worse, though. you don’t have any classes today, at the very least. it would’ve been an actual nightmare, in the state you’re currently in; having to stay up, take notes and listen to yaga drone on and on. you like your teacher, you really do, but sometimes his lectures can be just a little bit tedious.
the only reason you even bother to leave your dorm at all, in such a restless state, is so you can grab some breakfast. if you’re lucky, maybe it’ll make you feel a little less like a walking train wreck.
with that thought in mind, you make your way to the dormitory’s shared kitchen, enjoying the sight of the cherry blossoms through the windows you pass.
you’ll manage, somehow. your morning couldn’t possibly get any worse, after all.
when you enter the space, you’re relieved to find it completely devoid of people. no shoko, no geto, or even gojo. running into the first two wouldn’t be the end of the world, but it still wouldn’t be ideal. you don’t really want anyone seeing you like this — tired, meek, somewhat vulnerable.
least of all gojo. you shiver at the bare thought.
with laboured, groggy movements, you move around the kitchen, getting cups and plates and turning on the coffee machine. the sizzling of the pan creates a soothing melody, pleasant to your ears, as you quickly make a lazy breakfast to wolf down.
when it’s finished, you waste no time in taking a seat by one of the tables; eager to enjoy the peace and quiet, at last.
but, as always, the world seems to have it out for you specifically.
”oh? well, look who it is. and here i thought you had left, too.”
you stiffen. ever so slightly, barely noticeable, but still enough that you physically feel the dread envelop every single cell of your body. the voice that echoes across the open space is a chipper one. one you recognize. one you were desperately hoping not to hear today.
inwardly wincing, all you can do is continue to idly sip from your cup of coffee, silently going through all five stages of grief before accepting your unfortunate predicament.
that’s just your luck, isn’t it?
resigned to the sight you know you’ll see when you raise your head, you do just that — and, lo and behold, there he is.
gojo looks the same as always. grinning brightly, wearing those ugly sunglasses, making his way across the room like he owns it. a trait you can’t help but admire, envy, as he plops down next to you like it’s nothing. unconcerned about you or your concept of personal space.
”whatcha up to?” he chirps, in a sugar sweet tone, layered over with a boyish kind of excitement. there’s that teasing tilt of his, too, the one that always accompanies his voice when he’s speaking to you.
usually, hearing him speak in such an irritating fashion would’ve put you off. maybe you would’ve given him an apprehensive look, or tried to sound unbothered when answering his inquiry — that usually only makes him more intent on annoying you, but you just never seem to learn.
in your current state, though, you can’t muster up anything of the sort. you’re too tired, too anxious. you just want to sleep.
and yet, despite your best wishes, here he is; satoru gojo, in all his glory, ruining your hopes of what could have been a peaceful breakfast. you can’t even bring yourself to get mad. today, you just don’t have the energy to deal with him at all.
when you glance his way, your eyes meet, for a second — not like you can actually see them, from behind his sunglasses, but you know they’re there. menacing and uncanny. bright and excited.
you allow your gaze to linger at him for a brief moment, before trailing back to your plate. ”morning,” is all you manage to mutter, before taking a tentative bite of your sandwich.
gojo blinks.
he immediately notes that your voice sounds meek. even more so than usual. and it’s a little confusing — he expected you to give him a scoff, or even just a timid huff. but no such luck. you’re just sitting there, quiet, curling into yourself.
so, after a moment’s consideration, gojo opts to look at you. to really look at you, studying your face, the way your fingers move to curl around the ceramic handle of your cup. he’s always been observant, but it doesn’t take a genius to see that you’re tired.
you look out of it, plain and simple. eyes unfocused as you stare into space. gojo is silent for no more than a mere moment, contemplating his next course of action. he’s never seen you like this, before.
did something happen?
— well, it doesn’t matter. not his problem.
”you look like a zombie,” he grins, teasingly, showing off the white of his teeth.
despite the oddity of your behavior, he can’t hold it back — despite his own intuition, telling him to let you be. he can’t help it. you’re just too fun to tease.
suguru or shoko just raise their eyebrows at him, or stare him down like a misbehaving dog — but you always have a good reaction to give. something to entertain him when he’s bored, or something to distract him when his mind is too full of noise.
so he can’t help but tease you, a little. hoping it’ll soothe the restlessness in his chest.
— but for once, what gojo expects isn’t what he gets.
he expects you to glare at him, or tell him to leave you alone, or even just sigh in exasperation. either one would be fine. it’s just mindless enjoyment, to him, a little fun to lighten up his day.
especially now, when suguru is away on some day trip he wasn’t privy to. traitor, is all he can think. and shoko is nowhere to be seen, either. probably off smoking in some random alleyway, listening to one of her weird indie bands.
the whole dorm is so eerily quiet.
(gojo would never admit it, not in a thousand years, but maybe it’d be just a little bit lonely without any of you around.)
for a while, he assumed he’d have to spend the whole day alone. but then he entered the kitchen, and lo and behold; there you were, his saving grace. his dear old irritable little classmate.
a great relief overtook him, when he set his sights on you. oh, thank god — he thought he was going to die of boredom. but with you at school, too, his day is saved. now he can push your buttons to his heart’s content, bask in your playful banter until suguru gets back.
— only this time, you don’t react at all.
you don’t give him what he expects, don’t indulge his little antics, in the way he’s grown so accustomed to. all you do is continue to eat your breakfast, and drink your coffee, in silence. intent on gulping it all down quickly, so you can leave.
gojo’s words aren’t even irritating to you, right now. barely even a hassle. you honestly can’t be bothered with him at all; he can say what he wants, you don’t care. even mustering up the energy to get annoyed feels like too much for your sleep-deprived brain.
gojo waits, for just a couple moments more. hoping for a delayed reaction, a witty counter, a snarky comment. anything.
but it never comes.
finally, he starts to sulk. ever so slightly, slumping against the leather seat behind him, quieting down with a low huff. furrowing his brows as his lips curl down into a soft pout.
god — just what is your problem? what is with you, today? it’s no fun if you don’t play along.
gojo can’t help but grumble a little, under his breath. you’re usually so responsive, so easy to rile up. so what’s wrong? why are you just sitting there?
whatever. he doesn’t care. not even a little bit. so what if you’re not talking to him? like he cares enough to be bothered by it. gojo has better things to do, bigger fish to fry. he wasn’t even that excited, when he saw you. the thought of bantering with you didn’t lift his spirits, even in the slightest. not one bit.
(he hadn’t realized he’d begun to look forward to your interactions so much.)
but, really — come on. would it take so much effort to just say something? to just respond to his friendly little quip? you can’t possibly be that tired.
or what, did you get insecure, or something? because he called you a zombie? no way. you’re not that sensitive. right? or is that it? what a hassle.
you know he’s just messing with you. so why are you acting so….
(sad, gojo wants to think, but he buries the thought before it has a chance to reach his frontal cortex. he doesn’t want to empathize with you. that’d just be too troublesome.)
nonetheless, a strange frustration bubbles up in his chest. at your lack of reaction, the weak glint in your eyes. he just doesn’t understand why — and that frustrates him even more.
why can’t you just bite back, like always?
it’s fun when you do.
the silence lingers on, stretching out as you gulp down your food while gojo keeps on sulking. he’s still just sitting beside you, waiting for something to happen. he briefly considers getting up and leaving, or saying something annoying to hopefully spur you on —
but you stand up before he can convince himself to go through with either option.
having finished your breakfast, your legs carry you to the sink. finally, you can head back to your room. gojo’s being weirdly quiet, you can’t help but notice; it’s kind of hard not to, with how loud he usually is.
but you pay no mind to it, methodically washing your dishes in silence. deciding not to dwell on it. it’s a rare opportunity, after all, one you’d be foolish not to enjoy it while it lasts. you don’t bother saying goodbye to him, either, as he sits there. still deep in thought and grumbling curses under his breath.
he watches you as you leave, gaze trailing after your form until you’re completely out of sight.
then he lays down, flat on his back, with a frustrated huff. trying desperately to brush away the memory of your dim eyes, the slight frown on your lips. the dark circles under your eyes, that he tried not to notice because they made him feel so weirdly uncomfortable. the meek look you gave him.
gojo sighs.
(he feels just a tiny, tiny bit bad.)

when you wake up from your slumber, you immediately note that your body feels lighter.
no nightmares came to haunt you, this time. you practically collapsed once your head hit the pillow, finally giving you some peace of mind, and some well needed rest. maybe having breakfast really did help.
with a groan, you lazily stretch out your limbs, gaze falling on the clock on your wall. you’ve only been asleep for about two hours, or so, but it’s more than you got last night.
what to do, what to do. you still have the whole day ahead of you. another nap wouldn’t hurt, but you don’t want to waste your precious free time by just rotting in bed. maybe you can take a walk around the schoolyard? the cherry blossoms have started to unfurl, and it’s a beautiful sight — perfect to enjoy on a day like this, framed by the blue of the sky.
it’s a pleasing mental image. enough to have you changing into some light and comfortable clothes, intent on seeing the idea through, before you reach a hand out to push the door open.
as you do so, something is knocked over.
a soft little thud, accompanied by the sensation of collision between the door and something else. that’s all you hear, all you feel.
with a low curiosity simmering in your eyes, you exit the room, eagerly peeking around for a look at the mysterious something.
as you do so, your gaze falls on something pink.
it’s tiny, awfully out of place as it lays on the floor. crouching down to examine it further, you recognize it immediately; a small carton of strawberry milk, with a plastic straw plastered on its side. one of the items sold in the schoolyard’s vending machines.
you drink it fairly often, every time you need a small pick-me-up. the sweet taste always succeeds in soothing your spirits.
and it was sitting right outside your door.
you stare at it in contemplation, holding it in your hand as the gears turn silently in your head. that’s weird. did someone drop it? no, that’s dumb — who’d drop it right outside your door and then not pick it up?
did someone leave it for you, then? because they know you like it? that could be it, maybe, but who would —
….
your mind stills.
the idea is odd, to say the very least. so odd that a part of you doesn’t even want to entertain it. but despite your inherent denial, it’s the most reasonable conclusion to arrive at. after all, neither shoko nor geto are there — and that just leaves one possible culprit.
why would he do something like that, though? he doesn’t like you, you know that. so there’s no way — right?
… then again, you have seen him drink it. both of you seem to like it, contrary to your classmates; shoko doesn’t like sweet things in general, and geto doesn’t go for strawberry milk if he can choose something else. honestly, it might be the only thing you and gojo have in common, the one thing that binds you two together. a single carton of strawberry milk. it’s almost comical.
(you wonder why he did it, if it’s really true. you wonder if he noticed that you were feeling under the weather, and figured it’d make you happy.
you wonder if it’d be foolish of you to believe that it’s true, if only because you like the idea.)
your feet move on their own, before your mind has a chance to question the decision. where could he be, you wonder? in the kitchen? in his dorm?
just as the question enters your subconscious, a flash of white crosses your vision. as you absently glance out the window, you see it; white, soft hair, like a fluffy cloud in the midst of all the pink petals fluttering about.
you stop, and then begin walking once more. with more decision.
gojo is sitting right outside the dormitory, on a wooden bench, legs swinging as he gazes up at the sky. his hair sways slightly with the breeze, soft strands moving and caressing his skin.
the air is filled with pink petals, gracefully descending down to the ground, together with a trail of bubbles. gojo is blowing them, haphazardly, following their movement with his keen eyes. they glimmer in the sunlight, reflecting all shades of the rainbow.
the sight is just a little bit breathtaking.
the ground crunches beneath your feet, when you take a step forward — and gojo turns towards you. you stiffen like a deer in headlights. it was almost on impulse that you walked over to him, but now that you’re face to face, it’s a little nerve-racking.
still, it’s far too late to back out now. there’s not much to do except join him. so that’s exactly what you eventually do, albeit a little hesitantly.
attempting to ignore his continuous stare, burning into the side of your head, you plop down beside him. an uncomfortable silence lingers in the air around you both, as he waits for you to say something.
mustering up the courage to do so is tough, though. the decisiveness you felt when you decided to go see him has faded, now only the ghost of a sensation — you’re somewhat nervous to verbalize what was on your mind when you made the decision.
but eventually, you force yourself to speak. hoping you won’t come to regret it.
”… hey, gojo?” you start, softly, not looking at him. gaze glued on the cherry trees. but you know his eyes are still on you; you can feel them, and their weight.
the carton of strawberry milk is in your right hand, and you raise it up, faintly. to get his attention. then you look over at him, not quite managing to give him a smile, but you try your best to look somewhat appreciative.
”thanks.”
a confused blink. gojo looks down the strawberry milk, and then back at you. eyelashes fluttering.
a moment passes. then he turns his head away, swiftly. his hair is tousled by the movement, a couple pink petals stuck between the soft strands. you can’t see his face anymore.
”i don’t know what you mean,” he huffs, with a voice you’ve never heard from him. he sounds almost embarrassed.
upon closer inspection, you think the tips of his ears may be just slightly red. a smile finds its way onto your lips, unbeknownst to you — like this, he’s actually kind of cute. denying your implication, when it’s so obvious.
some part of you was still a little unsure, but gojo’s embarrassment basically confirms it.
(maybe he’s not as bad as you thought.)
cherry blossoms flutter in the wind, dancing joyously, without a care in the world. a spring breeze ruffles gojo’s hair, as he sits beside you, having begun to blow bubbles again. not saying a word, and looking straight ahead. but can’t help but stare at him, a little.
you find yourself thinking that he looks right at home, among the petals. they’re fleeting, hard to get a grasp on. pretty, and so out of reach, despite being so close.
you could reach over and touch him right now, if you wanted to. you could reach for his sunglasses, lift them off his face, and finally see those eyes he’s so intent on hiding. you could see him, see straight into his soul, and find out who he really is.
you won’t, though. some boundaries aren’t meant to be so callously crossed.
instead, you puncture the pink carton in your hand with the plastic straw, and take a tentative sip. the sweet taste soothes you almost immediately; you can’t help but sigh, softly, relaxing a little further. it’s absolutely perfect, for this kind of weather. the sight before you, cherry petals and shining bubbles. a boy you don’t like, but definitely don’t hate, either.
you both look up, following the bubbles with your eyes as they float up into the sky. as they get smaller and smaller, farther and farther out of reach. neither of you say a word, but the silence is comforting. light.
gojo is the first one to break it, surprisingly, in a voice so small you barely hear it.
”you don’t look like a zombie.”
a second passes. the statement catches you off guard, and you’re left blinking in confusion, trying to decipher it.
unable to resist the temptation, you decide to look over at him. with his eyes conveniently hidden behind his sunglasses, you can’t get a good read on his expression; he’s regained his composure, then.
it takes a couple seconds for his words to sink in — but once they do, all pieces seem to fall into place.
is that why he got you the drink?
you just can’t help it. you laugh, lightly, and this time it’s gojo who’s left confused.
”did —” you wheeze, softly, voice thoroughly amused. almost fond. you try to bite back the laughter, but it’s tough. ”did you think i was bothered by that, or something?”
gojo looks at you, for a brief moment. a little stunned. the sight only makes your smile grow even further, as you meet his gaze, eyes crinkled. you really aren’t trying to tease him — it’s just so funny to you. so endearing.
from the angle you’re viewing him through, as you lean back against the bench, you catch a glimmer of his eyes at last. they’re awfully pretty. blue and bright, full of life. when you look closer, you can see tiny, white splotches of colour in them.
they look like the blue sky.
you called them menacing, before, uncanny, but now you don’t think that’s quite true. they’re awfully soft, in the sunlight. especially when viewed like this, right after catching him slightly off guard. it’s a rare moment, terribly precious.
gojo doesn’t let it linger, though — the moment only lasts for a second or two.
then he scoffs, abruptly, turning away yet again. you swear that he’s pouting, a little, even if he’s trying to sound annoyed and nothing more.
”obviously not,” he huffs, sounding irritated as he rests his jaw on the heel of his palm. ”but with how sensitive you are, i wouldn’t be surprised.”
usually, a comment like that would irk you, and you’d bite back. but now it just makes you giggle, lightheartedly. the tips of his ears turn red, again, at the sound.
yeah. he’s really not so bad, after all.
for a while, you don’t say anything else, afraid of ruining the tender atmosphere. you feel closer to gojo than you ever have before, and you wonder if maybe this is the gojo that geto sees; childish, but well meaning. arrogant and cocky, but oddly innocent. selfish — but not really. you may have been slightly off, with that one.
the strawberry milk on your tongue tastes sweet, sweeter than usual.
”hey,” you break the silence, surprising even yourself. the words fall from your lips like soft little breaths, rolling off your tongue like marbles pouring out of a glass bottle. ”i don’t dislike you, you know?”
it’s an impulsive admission. saying it out loud doesn’t feel wrong, though. maybe a little humiliating, sure, but not wrong. they’re honest words, after all.
you suspect gojo may be looking at you, out of the corner of his eye, but you’re not sure. after all, you’re not looking at him, either — that’d feel a little too embarrassing.
he doesn’t quite know how to respond. you’re being strangely unpredictable, today, and it makes him feel a little unsure of himself. your tone is so soft. almost friendly. he only ever hears it when you’re talking to shoko, or geto.
not learning his lesson, gojo opts to tease you, as always. he can’t let the silence linger for too long. it’s a halfhearted attempt, though — more of a vaguely amused huff than anything.
”what, got a crush on me or somethin’?”
this time, you don’t scoff, or roll your eyes, or give him an earnest fuck right off. you just chuckle, in a way that almost borders on fond. you’re not one to tease, contrary to the boy on your left, but your words are teasing even still. ”i have better taste than that.”
gojo should be irked, should grumble and shoot something back, but you don’t give him the chance to.
”i just… you know,” you mumble, tasting the words on your tongue. ”i still think you’re annoying. and childish.” gojo huffs, and your lips curl up. ”but i really don’t dislike you.”
you take a sip of the strawberry milk, before continuing, hoping it’ll make the words easier to say. ”and it’s not like i know you, anyway. so i’m sorry for making a bunch of assumptions.”
a pause. for a split second, you quiet down, a little embarrassed. ”… that’s all i wanted to say,” you exhale, gaze glued to your lap.
as always, you can’t tell what gojo’s thinking. out of the corner of your eye, you try to catch a glimpse of his face, but you have a nagging suspicion that it wouldn’t tell you anything anyway. his eyes are hidden by those sunglasses, after all, acting as a wall between him and the rest of the world. so you don’t know if the words reach him, if they mean anything at all.
but you hope they do. even as you brush cherry petals and non-existent dust from your lap, and get up to leave.
gojo just sits there, for a second, deep in contemplation.
he tries to bury a certain thought, before it has a chance to reach his frontal cortex, before he has to accept that it exists — only this time, he doesn’t succeed.
the words die before they reach his tongue, but he hears them, in his head. and begrudgingly has to accept their existence, after all.
(i don’t really dislike you, either.)
what actually ends up leaving the confines of his throat is merely a scoff, so faint he doubts you even hear it. ”whatever,” he mutters, hoping it’ll come across as cool and unbothered.
the gruff sound strikes you as just slightly flustered. one last smile reaches your face, before you head back inside. gojo stays behind, on the bench, lost in thought.
you toss the now-empty carton into a trash can, dismissing the stray thought of keeping it as a memento of the interaction. that’d just be creepy. you are happy, though. you feel as if you’ve reached something, the start of an eventual conclusion. something worth cherishing.
you still don’t understand satoru gojo. you get the impression that you just grew a little bit closer to him, though.
there are layers to him, more than what meets the eye. hidden behind those sunglasses of his. you can only imagine what the world might look like, from his perspective. what you look like, reflected in his eyes.
you feel a little ashamed, for thinking you had him all figured out. a spoiled, self-centered rich kid, with no functional empathic abilities — it might be partially true, but you’ll have to reevaluate the statement, to see how well it holds up.
the lacking empathic abilities, especially. you still don’t think his emotional intelligence is anything to gawk at, but you may have been underestimating it, a little bit. it’s there, despite everything. in those eyes, in that carton of strawberry milk.
you think there’s a certain maturity, there, in spite of his childishness. or perhaps the latter is no more than a product of the former, a way for damaged children to dress their wounds. the way he carries himself and the way he speaks both seem a bit forced. like he’s used to performing, used to moving in a way that demands attention.
all eyes on him, at all times. you think that sounds just a tad exhausting.
as you return to the safety of your room, you still can’t help but ponder. there’s so much you don’t know. despite the moment you shared, and the connection you think may be growing between you, he’s still so out of reach.
(almost lonely, in a way.)
you wonder what he’s like when he’s alone, when there’s no one around to perform for. what is an actor without their audience?
you don’t understand satoru gojo, not really. not at all, not in the slightest.
but you think you’d maybe like to.

it’s been 19 days since gojo satoru has been sealed. his girlfriend, who was going to be his fiancée, is stuck at their shared home. she was hidden from the jujutsu world. gojo didn’t want anyone trying to attack his future wife. the woman of his dreams, the woman who knows how to understand him. shoko, the other best friend of gojo satoru, took it upon herself to see you, as nanami passed away…
“y/n?” she yells out when knocking on your door. you just woke up twenty minutes ago when you get to the door, shoko saw how you looked.
your hair was a mess, though still was being washed yet no effort put into it. your eyes were puffy and you had terrible eye bags. shoko just hugged you and you broke down in her arms.
“shoko, it’s only been 19 days and yet i still am like this, i thought i’d be better than this. i knew it would happen one day yet why am i a mess?” you knew that it was a little stupid of you to be such a mess when it’s been only 19 days he was gone but you and satoru have been together for 5 years. yet, him being away and not knowing when he was coming back was scary. sure, he went on overseas missions for three months before, but you had contact with him, you can call and text him and still say “i love you toru” yet now you can’t.
“y/n, it’s okay. he will be unsealed. we have a plan in check. we are starting the process now, i just needed to see you and let you know what’s happening. i’ll have yuuji come to protect you right now, you’re not going to be safe alone forever.” shoko says, she gives you one last hug before yuuji appears behind her.
“y/n.” he says and just hugs you. you hugged him back while tears fell down. he didn’t smile at all, gojo being sealed took away this precious boy’s smile. you cupped yuuji’s cheeks. “i’m sorry yuuji. i’m so sorry. you deserve much better my love.” yuuji just hugged you tighter. you waved bye to shoko and closed the door. yuuji was still clinging onto you as you tried to walk to the couch.
“i’m sorry y/n. i wasn’t strong enough.” you looked at the boy, he was getting anxious and couldn’t read your expression. “yuuji, you’re strong. you’re just a kid hon, i can’t blame you. i blame the cursed world we live in, especially because now you’re a jujutsu sorcerer. yuuji, you deserved better than this world. i promise you.” yuuji and you both hugged and you told him to watch a show on the TV, while you made food.
as you were finishing up, yuuji and you both felt a little earthquake though yuuji knew it wasn’t an earthquake but gojo being unsealed.
yuuji just stayed with you and when you served him, he was happy. though, he thought about how you were feeling since your fiancé was sealed in a box without any communication for almost three weeks straight.
you just smiled at him while you waited for the pans to cool down. you served yourself as well and ate right next to your fiancé’s student. you messed with yuuji’s hair and said, “you know, you need to smile more yuuji. i love being around. you’re such a kind boy. i hope you grow old and have a family, live life as well as you can.” yuuji looked at you and then finally smiled, “yeah. i’ll try to promise you that.”
you smiled at him when all of a sudden, your front door was opening… yuuji got in front of you but when the door was fully open, you ran towards the man full speed.
“s-satoru? you’re back? y-you’re here?” you had tears coming out of your eyes. he smirked, “i didn’t know i was walking in on my girlfriend cheating on me with my student!” he grabbed his chest acting like it hurt. you hit his arm and immediately hugged him.
“yuuji, were you protecting my pretty girl for me?” he asked teasingly. yuuji nods and then you let go of your boyfriend. gojo hugs yuuji and whispers something in his ear. yuuji just looked back at you and smiled.
“you know, we’ve missed you satoru. the strongest man alive is back and yet i didn’t get my kiss. 19 days without you satoru gojo. 19 days with your kiss, your voice, your stupid little kid of a personality, your touch. do you know how insane i’m going right now? you’re so lucky i know how to control myself.” you say to him and yuuji waves goodbye while leaving and closing the door. gojo just stares back at you and looks at you, “oh baby, i know. i was stuck in that box and my mind went insane. felt like years i was waiting. couldn’t even sleep it off.”
you went to kiss him and he pulled you in. this kiss wasn’t lust, it was just pure love, saying all kinds of things, “be safe”, “i love you so much”, “i missed you”, “stay with me”, “don’t leave”, and it was just gojo knowing he had to make you his more officially. he slyly puts the ring that was still in his pocket onto your left hand. “mine.” he says after pulling away from you and you looked down to see the ring.
“i don’t care. we’re getting married even if it’s a quiet one. we are marrying each other.” he says that so seriously and quietly. you wonder how he feels.
“let’s go to bed.” you say and he follows behind you. you stopped caring for the dishes in the sink as soon as you saw your beloved boyfriend. when you both laid down on the bed, you couldn’t help but move closer to him until his arms were wrapped around you and you just nuzzled into his chest.
“i love you ‘toru.”
“i love you more pretty.”

Gojo is very pushy
Description: Gojo was in love with you—his Highschool teacher and the strongest sorcerer of your time— who had known him since he was young. You don't see him in that light, but he is stubborn, even as a highschool student. You are watching your students grow up, becoming stronger with each passing second. And after the failed Star-Plasma Vessel trip, you set out on a man-hunt for your father, who is harboring a new woman's body as his own...
☆*:.。. Starting here .。.:*☆
It's dark in the apartment, well.. condo— he is a rich man after all— yet, he can see it all.
He remembers his way around the place, has for many years. He doesn’t even need his six eyes to know where he stands.
He just knows.
When he bought the condo, he purchased the furniture along with it, to keep that memory alive. It was all he had left. Sometimes he wonders if she were alive, how strange it would be, if the Zenin, Gojo, and Kamo clan’s prized possessions all sat at a dinner table, chatting about their days in peace.
He finds himself standing at the table, near the door, with a photograph. A much older woman, patting his and Suguru’s head aggressively, her chin laying on Shoko’s. Her grin was broad, a cigarette peeking out from the corner of her mouth. He and Suguru had an annoyed expression, hence the blurry photo. It was them trying to pull her off them as she was pressing their heads down so she would appear taller.
She was tall already, but two boys that were in the midst of their puberty, skyrocketing like a bean sprout, was a bit degrading to her very large ego. Her upper arm, hardly visible to the camera’s view, has a cloth— the exact same Satoru uses to cover her arm— wrapped around it with a cute little bunny knot that pokes from the side.
He closes his eyes, pulling the cloth from his eyes, breathing out.
“Hey, Sensei! Spar with me!” Satoru shouts, he’s a first year, not knowing anyone but you, the woman who watched him grow up. “Hah?” You chuckle, shaking your head with a smoking cigarette peeking from the corner.
You're sitting at your desk in your chair, it has wheels, which you occasionally spin in circles when no one is watching. Though, since your class is in session, you lay your feet on the wooden desk, which is dented from the amount of time you’ve slammed your heels on it. With your free hand— the other occupied with a newspaper— you shoo him off, continuing, “No way, you’re too weak. And,” you fwip your newspaper, “I’m busy, as you can see.”
He gapes, extremely offended. “I’m the strongest there is!” He shouts, his thumb pointing at his chest, which he puffs out.
“Alright, strongest.” You tease, watching his face grow red as you bare what you like to call, a shit eating grin.
“Let’s see, how strong are you?”
Your head turns to your other first year students, Suguru and Shoko.
Suguru sits with his head in hit palm, clearly dazed and exhausted, and Shoko has her head up in the air, leaning back in her seat with a straw in her mouth. Her arms dangling at her side.
The nearing summer heat is killing all of you, but it's impacting your classes too. The windows are open to let the breeze in, but if you close it, the classroom will turn into an oven. You have a fan running in the background, but only at you.
You know what they say, beggars can’t be choosers.
“If— if I win, we get the fan.”
Suguru and Shoko’s ears perk up, their attention on their classmate.
You shrug, placing the newspaper down. “Alright,” your fingers take the cigarette from your lips with one last puff, blowing the air away with the side of your mouth.
“Here's the deal—” you put it out on the already ashened ashtray. “If you guys win, I’ll buy all three of you fans” you tell them, holding three fingers up, then pointing to your own. “And you can even have mine.”
Then, you smile, it's a scary one that sends shivers down Satoru’s back. “But if I win, not only will the three of you work your asses off outside, you’ll be fully clothed in your uniforms, no unbuttoning, no fans, no water—”
“But Sensei, we’ll die without water!” Shoko whines, still chewing on the straw.
“No you won’t, I'll make sure you three won't. So might as well hydrate before. From dawn till dusk, we’ll train like you’ve never trained before, for the entire week, starting as soon as he loses."
That last sentence froze the room, and you continued with your closed eyes smile, waving Satoru off. “I’ll let the three of you discuss it amongst yourselves.”
He gulps, nodding before trudging back with a slouch to his friends. You observe them whisper, then watch as Satoru gets him in the head before all three of them nod.
He seems more confident, striding back. His hands slam on your desk, his glasses gleam, and that grin you taught him, “I’ll do it!”
You mirror that grin standing up, towering over the growing student, “Atta boy,”
He finds himself in the outdoor gym, right beside the track.
You, even as a teacher, never wore the Jujutsu Uniform, maybe the bottoms at times, but your top was always a tank top. In the bleachers, most of the staff. Your Colleague Mei Mei, old student Utahime, Yaga, everyone was there, to witness the worst defeat that the first years could ever experience.
“Satoru?” You call out sweetly, a newly lit cigarette sitting in the corner of your mouth. You turn, smiling to the camera that Mei Mei points at the two of you, quickly holding up a peace sign.
“Yes?”
“You have anymore conditions you wanna add before I beat you?”
He looks around, almost contemplating whether he should tell you before pointing at himself.
“Go on a date with me?”
“START!”
You laugh, dropping the cigarette and stomping on it.
“In your dreams.”
Satoru is quick, activating his infinity like it’s nothing, then going in for a quick blow. “Cursed Technique Lapse—”
You yawn.
His hand is angled to you, “Blue.”
The ground beneath you is pulled, most things around are pulling into him. All but you, standing still on the ground before being thrown back at you.
It's loud, the rubble falling onto you causing gasps from the Bleachers from students. It's a cloud of smoke, and when it clears, you’re no where to be found.
Hell, even Gojo grows worried. Blood pools from underneath the rubble, and he wants to step forward, make sure you're alright, but he remembers your words.
'Satoru, if anything happens, don’t come near me. If you think the battle is over, it’s just beginning.'
He sighs, awaiting something, anything, but still, nothing. He finds himself putting down his infinity, and Suguru slaps his hand into his face, sighing. He never listens to anything anyone has to say to him.
He finally takes a step, but this is when you finally make your appearance.
“Hey, Satoru.” You groan, pushing off a large slab that sits atop of you.
“You really— wow that was heavy —you need to start listening to the things we adults tell you.” You sigh, bringing a hand in front of yourself, clenching your fist with only your pointer finger out, pointing it at him.
“Cursed Technique,” Your blood behind to fly in front of you, turning into objects similar to needles.
You smile at him, not saying anything else, and he tries again, only to find you were tricking him.
The needles fly, hitting his pressure points.
His eyes fly open, before he falls, paralyzed.
Your binding vow allows you to access a higher amount of your cursed energy for every attack given. Blood Manipulation, a technique handed to you from your Clan, Kamo, allows you to manipulate your own blood at will. You decided to create a binding bow with yourself, allowing you to create a higher input of Cursed energy, to 120% into your attacks. Every attack given to you, that causes you to lose blood, would cause an even greater attack to be inflicted on the person because of this. It's confusing to explain, but you made sure to demonstrate it to your first years.
Satoru just doesn't listen.
Mei Mei is still taking photos of the ordeal with your camera, sure to share them with Yuki, your former classmate.
Satoru stares up at you, who is looking down at him with a smile, your hair falling with gravity, the sun behind your head, illuminating your strands.
“I am the strongest for a reason.” You grin at him, kneeling down and placing a palm on his chest, taking back your blood, which sits in a ball in your hand.
You turn to the bleachers, whistling to your other students who are in the midst of running away.
“Cmere.”
They sigh, walking off.
“I’ve got an errand to run, so you’re going to stay with Yaga—”
“WHAT!” Yaga shouts in the distance, but you ignore him completely, continuing, “and his students. Kapeesh?” You point at them.
They all nod, and you help Satoru up, patting his shoulder.
“Yaga, make sure their uniforms are completely buttoned up, no water, nothing. Just make 'em run. I don't want to see a jog, no walk, just run.”
He nods slowly, watching you send him a thumbs up before patting Shoko’s head.
You scurry off, and are gone for quite some time. So long in fact, that it's already dusk. The trio is sweaty, out of breath panting, and overall exhausted. They walk back to the classroom, the hallways are hot and expect the room to be an oven, yet when they enter, it’s chilly.
On their desks, each their own fan, and you, with your arms crossed, asleep.
No matter how annoying their teacher was, she was always the best.
Was.
By the time they became second years, you were always in and out, or just on the phone. Yaga was now their teacher, but you are still their favorite. Days when you were there, they would sit in your classroom after ditching Yaga’s, sitting with Kento and Yu.
“You three better run off back to your class.” You tell them, smoking with your reading glasses sitting at the bridge of your nose. You has a piece of chalk in your hand as you wrote on the chalkboard, equations that now seem like a piece of cake to them.
They grew too fast over the summer, the boys towering over you. Shoko was still a short girl, who was now smoking. You wonder where she picked that up from.
“Nah! We’ll stay here.” Satoru told her, sitting in your seat and swirling around.
Defeated, you sigh, “Suit yourself.”
He stares at you as you write; really taking in your state. Eyebags that were darker than usual, chapped lips, more empty cigarettes boxes, and don't forget to mention the frequent phone calls.
And, as ironic as it sounds, your phone rings. From the title, he can see a name, read as Yuki.
You click your tongue, placing the hall down and running your hand through your hair. As you pass by, you place a hand on his head, ruffling it while flipping open your phone.
“Yea, Yuki?” Then, you walk out.
Your voice is muffled, slowly fading out the more you walk down the hallway. The last thing he could make out was the word ‘Dad’.
The five students sit in awkward silence before Satoru finally breaks the ice.
“What’s up with her?”
The question was for everyone in general, but mainly towards the first years, who got to see her more than he did, which did get him jealous.
“A mission! Supposedly she’s hunting someone down.” Yu speaks up, and Satoru quickly asks.
“Who?”
“A man named K—”
“We don’t know.” Kento speaks up, and it's obvious he’s lying considering the fact that Yu was about to say the man's name.
He didn't press any longer, only narrowing his eyes. Then, humming, leaning back in her seat. It smelt just like her.
He closed his eyes, the plan running through his mind. He nods, thinking how genius he is.
Later, he finds himself in your apartment, sitting at your dining table.
You would jump if you didn’t feel his cursed energy waving from the parking lot.
“Well, here we have a rogue student.” You joke, slipping your shoes off at the door.
“Your shoes off?”
He looks down at his feet, then back up, nodding. “I remember some things.”
You grin, “I know, I didn't make you completely useless.”
It's silent, his eyes wander to the stove. The time was 3:42am, he had been waiting for her for a long time.
“What were you doing?” He asks, staring as she begins boiling water. “Hm? Mission. Tea?” You ask, trying to lighten his mood and overall pressing.
He shakes his head, and you stare at him. His clothes are changed, hair damp, almost completely dry. “Who are you hunting—”
The handle of your tea cup breaks off, the base falling to the ground. It shatters, you stare down at it blankly.
“Satoru.” You say his name coldly, the kettle begins to whistle loud.
“My affairs have nothing to do with you.”
The distance between the two of you is great, like a ripple in time, about immeasurable.
“B-but! I can help you—!”
“Satoru!” You shout, glaring at him, your eyes glowing, face darkens. You calm when you see his expression, almost hurt, and scared. His eyebrows contorted, his lips parted. “Satoru.” You whisper now, walking to him with your arm open. You embrace him, his head to your stomach. Fingers play in his white hair.
“I don’t want you getting hurt. The last thing I want of you is for you to get hurt. This is my own burden,” you take his face in your hands, smiling, “You understand? Taking the future away from children is unforgivable.”
He sighs heavily, wondering when you would stop seeing him as a child, and in a new light as a man.
“I’m not a kid.” He grumbles, his arms wrap around your torso willingly.
“Then a baby,” you joke with a coo, shaking him left and right softly.
“Mei is taking Iori on a mission, I’ll be accompanying them. So, we’ll be gone for no longer than a day.” You inform, stroking his head.
He nods, his eyes growing heavy.
“If you're tired, go to bed.”
“No.”
You shake your head, a light chuckle escaping past your lips. So stubborn. “Suit yourself.”
You go back around to the kitchen, turning off the kettle. “I’ll go shower, your tea is ready.” You tell him, walking over and holding his cup by the rim, placing it on the coaster in front of him. His eyes stare at the cup, almost cautiously. He nods, taking the cup from the table.
By the time you're done, you find the boy asleep upright on the chair, his head down and eyes closed, small snores escaping his lips.
You find yourself scurrying to your table by the door, rummaging through the drawer to pull out an old camera, snapping pictures of him. You laugh, placing the camera on the table he’s at, kneeling in front of him to stare.
You don't remember him growing up this fast, it kind of hurts.
Your hand goes up to his face, squeezing his nose to stop him from breathing. His eyes open wide, and you laugh at his panicked face.
“To bed with you.” You whisper, and he tiredly nods, taking your hand as you lead him to the guest bedroom, but he stops when you try to pull him into the room.
“Satoru,”
He looks down with a pout, his shaggy hair covering his eyes.
“I want to sleep with you.”
You raise an eyebrow at him, shaking your head with a sigh before leading him to your room. Allowing him to open your sheets and sprawl into your bed. You tuck him back in, patting his stomach as you lay down.
“Just like when you were a child. Always asking your parents to sleep over, and of course I let them. You were so cute!” You exclaim, positioning yourself to your side. He stares up into the ceiling, and you watch him. Your head on your hand.
“Stop staring into Narnia, sleep—”
“You won’t die, will you?”
His voice is soft, and he won't look at you. He doesn’t want to see how you're staring at him. Your eyes wide, lips puffed, clearly taken aback.
“Ah, what makes you say that?” You whisper, your tone dropping.
“You don’t sleep, your never home—”
“You’ve been in my house?”
He pouts, “Technically, it’s not a house.”
You laugh at his response. “Satoru, I’m a human.”
“But the strongest.”
“You’ve seen me bleed. I don’t plan on dying right now, but everyone dies, some sooner than others.”
Now, he finally turns to you and your smiling face. He doesn’t cry, not that you’re surprised. He's never cried.
You hear him breathe out a hum, closing his eyes. A smile graces your lips, and you brush his stray hairs from his twitching nose, which tickles him.
“Good night,” you whisper, before getting up and sitting at the chair beside your bed, and wrapping a blanket around yourself.
After a few days of no sleep, it finally hits you like bricks, a shame you have to wake up at seven, but you’ll be sure to thank those two hours of sleep that grace your schedule.
The yawn that passes your lips is atrocious. It's the 13th one that you’ve done, and Iori is growing irritated. “Sensei—”
“(Y/N) to you champ,” You correct her, and she bites back her tongue.
“(Y/N)-san.. did you sleep by any chance?” She asks, smiling with tight lips. You, on the other hand, raise an eyebrow, your head leaning on Mei Mei's shoulder, who’s clicking through her red flip phone.
“My personal life is none of your concern.” You tell her.
You swear, the younger these new sorcerers are, the more disrespectful they get.
It’s raining, the roads are wet and slippery. Silence fills the vehicle, aside from the frequent wipes of the window shields and Mei tapping through her phone. You don’t even remember dozing off, just appearing in front of a screwed up house.
Iori turns around, staring at her old teacher and new colleague. She respects her, but can’t stand her. She is the reason Gojo is the way he is.
“You have to keep watch out here in case anything happens.”
With your pinky finger deep in your ear, you're clearly disinterested. “Yeah yeah..” waving them off, Mei mei gives you one final look, her features resembled that of a feline, elegant and cool, she smiles, striding off with her umbrella behind the young sorcerer.
“Two hours!” You shout at their disappearing figures.
That's the reason you were there, to determine whether this was a time warping curse. It’s quite possible the flow of time is distorted in there.
So you sat, and waited. And waited, and waited, until two hours did pass.
With a sigh, you take out your flip phone, dialing Yaga and explaining to him the situation.
“The flow of time is different here, yeah. Utahime is with Mei. … After two days, come assist if Utahime can’t get it.”
You close your device, trudging into the building. Your eyes close, the smell of blood reeks, but you continue to follow the familiar cursed energy, followed by a high pitched scream.
“With a scream like that, you could be a scream queen.” You laugh, throwing your head back.
“Kamo-san!” Utahime exclaims, almost in relief.
“Yoohoo!” You greet, waving your hand at her, the other lost in your pocket.
“Have you figured it out yet?” You ask, your head tilting.
She stares at you, almost annoyed.
“Not yet.”
“You best hurry,” you start, fishing a cigarette from your pocket. It’s not boxed, your pocket is just full of cigarettes. The other pocket held the lighter. Your hand cups it, lighting the cigarette. A cloud of smoke hits her in the face, and you laugh at her, pointing as she waving her hand away.
“Sorry about that, but anyways,” your pointer finger is pointing in the air, moving in circles. “Time is running differently in here.”
“I had the feeling,” Mei says, standing besides you.
“Go on Utahime, figure it out.” You shoo her, sitting on the ground of the hallway. It's dirty, dust and bugs crawling throughout the space, but you’ve dealt with worse.
In a daze, you hear Utahime and Mei’s muffled voice, a couple thuds, then the ground, which you were sitting on, crumbling apart.
The three of you in a free fall, though the only one panicking seems to me Utahime.
You're falling in circles, hair flying everywhere, cigarette still in your mouth, you take off the bandage from your finger, opening the scab and drip blood. You bring the heat of your blood to almost boiling, turning it into vapor so you can stay above in the air.
Utahime is screaming bloody murder still, and no doubt in your mind that she could be the next scream queen.
You find yourself next to Shoko, listening to Satoru tease Utahime. “You cryin?"
“No! I’m not, respect your Seniors!” She shouts, crushed by the rubble.
You ruffle Shoko’s hair before coming behind Satoru, closing your fist you knock the back of his skull.
“Ow!” He whines, holding it in pain.
“Be respectful, kid.” You scold, blowing the smoke from your cigarette away from him. Your hand grabs ahold of the large rubble that crushes Utahime, allowing her to crawl out.
“If I was crying? Would you console me?” Mei asked, Gojo responding seriously, but also playfully.
“No way! You wouldn't cry, you're strong Mei!” He tells her, and you sigh.
Utahime, still on the ground, shoots up. The rubble pieces on her back fell, and you stared blankly at him.
“GOJO!”
Behind her, a large curse pokes up, startling Utahime, and even you a little. Utahime jumps on you, who is still holding the rubble piece up. You drop it, eyes wide as you stare at it.
“Yikes.” You whisper, when another curse eats it.
“Hey, Satoru. It’s not nice to pick on the weak!” You hear a familiar voice.
Suguru, under the influence of Satoru.
“How long do you plan on holding on for?” You ask teasingly, feeling the girl shake.
She stares into your eyes before jumping off, her face red as a tomato, teeth clenched while her finger waves at you accusingly.
“I-I- I DIDN’T MEAN THAT! I THOUGHT YOU WERE.. uh.. My dog! Yea, my dog!”
You raise an eyebrow, shrugging. “It was a bit, comforting..” you tell her, teasing her by showing her your embarrassed face, gaze to your side, flickering around before looking back into her eyes. Your arms hold yourself, and you laugh right as her mouth pops open.
She quickly leaves when she notices Shoko. Hugging the girl tightly,
“Sensei!” Shoko calls out, and you notice something.
It’s as bright as day. The sun shining down on all of you, the clouds on the blue sky.
You gaze up blankly, slightly in a daze.
“What is missing?” You whisper to yourself, your fingers rubbing on your chin.
Then, amongst their conversation, you hear one of them talk about a veil, presumably discussing an outfit, and you internally hear glass shatter.
The three students kneel in front of Yaga.
“Who was in charge of the veil?” He asks, and the two point to the one in the middle.
Satoru.
You pinch the bridge of your nose, groaning.
Again, your phone rings. Satoru stares at you, almost accusingly, but you pay him no mind.
“Yuki,” you start, walking out the room. Satoru looks in a daze watching you leave, and Yaga following suit, punches the boys on the head before he leaves.
“Hey, we can see the hearts in your eyes.” Suguru teases, hitting his shoulder.
“Really!? You can?!” He asks, genuinely curious.
The two stop and stare at him, and Satoru feels stupid.
“I’m obviously kidding.”
“..”
“..”
“You can’t send them on that!” You shout at Yaga, so loudly that just they can hear you as clear as day.
The school rumbles under your wrath, a fee students in the classrooms fearful. But the trio in the gym stand uncaring.
“Please, Yaga.”
Yaga looks down at you, sighing before patting your head. “It’s not my decision, kid.”
You right the corners of your eyes, chewing on your bottom lip.
“I know.” You whisper, walking away from him.
When your kids were going on a life threatening mission, you were being sent off by the higher ups, finding your father.
Kenjaku.
It would be hard, considering he changes his body every few years.
You don't understand why Riko Amanai was being in the care of two second years. You’ve already been in contact with her for a couple months, filling her in on things no one else wanted to do.
You could easily take care of this, but higher-ups said Kenjaku was first.
So you bit down your tongue, swallowed the ball forming in your throat, and walked away from the school campus.
I remember Dad, he had that scar over his forehead.
You flipped open your phone, receiving a message from Yuki, which read, Sendai City, and an attached image of a woman, bobbed hair, and that same scar through her forehead holding a toddler.
You hold your breath.
A brother.
Even though the two of you, biologically speaking, had different parents, you couldn't help but notice similarities the two of you had. Same gleam in your eyes, same cheeky smile.
You found yourself chuckling a bit at the photo, and at the boy.
“Okay,” you whisper, your phone back into your pocket with a nod. Hand clenched. “Sendai,” you tell yourself, marching off.
You should have come earlier. The Jujutsu Tech, was a nightmare. Blood everywhere, a destroyed entrance, and a failed mission.
They sent you to get rid of Kenjaku, but when you heard of what had happened, you rushed back home.
Your mind running a million times a minute. Toji killed Riko, he hurt your students.
All you could think about were your boys.
“Satoru?! Suguru?!” You shout, running towards the dorm rooms. Just as your about to knock on Satoru’s door, Suguru is beside you. “He’s not in there.”
You almost gasp at his appearance, so different from what your used to. His hair is out, his eyes purple and bloodshot from crying, he’s not in his uniform.
White baggy shirt and some sweatpants you gave him as a first year that had finally come to fit him.
You give him a broken smile.
“C’mere,” you whisper, opening your arms to him. You pat his back, rubbing it in circles, but he doesn’t cry.
He trembles, but he doesn't cry.
“It was my fault, I’m sorry. I shouldn't have left—”
“I’m too weak.” He cuts you off, his forehead on your shoulder. “I can’t keep up with him anymore.” He tells you, and your heart almost breaks.
You give him a reassuring squeeze, sighing. “Suguru, in this world, nobody is truly equal.” It's the honest truth, you think. Something you wish someone had told you in your younger days. “I just hope, in this life, you can all find happiness.”
You hold his face in your hands, smiling up at him.
“My kids are growing up so big, so fast. So I'll do this one last time.” You tell him, that last part confusing him, but you notice his eyes gloss over.
One last time.
You make your way to Shoko after taking Suguru back to his bed, who is in the second year classroom, alone.
You lean at the doorway, and she doesn’t notice you. A cigarette sticking from the corner of her mouth as she flips through her medical books. A bag of opened chips sit on the three desks she put together. The room is dim, but familiar.
“There’s my favorite girl,” you greet, finally walking up to her.
She too, seems more tired than usual.
You pat her head, ruffling her hair a bit.
“Hey! What’re you doing here?” She asks with a smile, watching you stare at the three desks, letters carved into them. You chuckle, responding without looking.
“I’m here to say goodbye.”
She blinks, then laughing. “If I didn’t know any better, I would think you're.. going to die..” realization hits her.
You only smile back, hand on her cheek as you stroke her with your thumb.
“Lay off on the cigarettes,” you begin, and she takes her head out of your grasp, shaking her head profusely.
“No..”
“Make sure to make your bed in the morning, brush your teeth, wash your face,”
“Stop.” She says, chewing on the cigarette.
“Oh and make sure those morons take care of themselves as well.
“Sensei!”
You stare at her, and she looks in your eyes.
You find your eyes watering. This has never happened before. You don’t recall a single memory of you crying. But, here you are. In front of one of your old students, crying.
“Ah, this is so strange.” You mutter, wiping your eyes, and Shoko stares at you, her own face growing red, eyes filled with emotion.
“Take care, Sensei.” She tells you, hugging you hard.”
You snort, squeezing her back. “You too, I love you all very much.”
You leave her back to her studying. Your first years, took it easier. They’re too gullible, to innocent, you can’t tell them.
You wave them goodbye, and lastly was Satoru.
But he wasn’t there.
He was, somewhere.
Not where she needed him.
She laughed at herself, shaking her head as she made her way back to Sendai.
Her last phone call was made to Yuki, “Hey,” you start. And she’s silent. You hear sniffles from her end of the phone, and you can’t help but tease her. “If you start crying now I won’t be able to stop myself.”
“I love you.” You tell her, and she’s crying on the line, unable to say anything. You end the call, the last one to make, Satoru. Of course, he doesn’t answer, so you talk for the voicemail.
“Satoru, my boy. My pride and joy, you weren’t at school so I couldn’t talk to you face to face. And I have a lot that I want to say, but I'm running on limited time.”
You swallow, walking down the street, and hand in your pocket, other holding your flip phone to your ear.
“Don’t blame yourself, number one. I don’t wanna hear, I should have been there, or blah blah blah. Only I’m allowed to do that. Anyways, I'm sure at this point, you’re stronger than me. Way stronger than me. But, not the strongest. I’m the strongest. Does that make sense? I'm sorry, I'm rambling, I just wanted to tell you, it’s been a pleasure knowing you, and I'm sorry I won’t be able to see you become the man you’ve dreamt of being. I love you, Satoru, and take care of yourself and the other—”
Your time with the caller is over, your voicemail has been sent.
“Ah damn.” You mutter, standing in front of a warehouse.
Cursed energy if radiating from the center, so you bring your fingers up. Your pink and ring fingers interlock, your middle fingers curl, fitting side by side, and your pointer fingers are straight up, the tips touching each other, your thumbs too.
“Domain expansion: Bloody Mirror.”
Satoru hears glass breaking while on his way back to the school, his hands are in his pockets, and he’s care free, thinking about bothering his Sensei—
Screams is all he hears. Sobs, and Yaga, his head down and shaking, holding what seemed to me a bloodied armband.
Heh, funny. It looks like the same one that (Y/N) used.
Utahime stands in front of Yaga, head in her hands and shaking her head. This was just a dream, she kept telling herself, but her sobs wouldn’t stop.
“Satoru.” A voice called out, it was Yaga. Even from far away, his voice was just so clear.
His steps grew heavier, like weights were on his ankles. His posture even began slouching, with his heart racing.
“Hey Yaga! Say, where’s (Y/N)- Sensei? She’s always out and about—”
“She’s dead.”
“And she never comes home..” he says, whispering the words home. He doesn’t even realize his eyes go wide, of that the only sound he can hear is his beating heart. It scared him. Really badly, it scared him. His feet carried him to Shoko’s ‘Lab’, though it was really a morgue.
He didn’t expect to find Suguru, who was usually holed away in his room since the incident, sitting on the chair looking down. His hands clenched, he didn’t want to get up.
Shoko’s eyes were red, puffy, tired.
A cloth over the body, and his feet took him to it.
He saw someone, with the same hair color as you under there, and it had felt like he had died again.
He began peeling the cloth away, but that’s when Shoko stopped him, right below your eyes, that's where she stopped him.
What he didn’t get to see, what only Shoko saw, was the largest, hole in a person’s face she had ever scene in her small, but broad highschool years as a healer.
Not only was your mouth missing, but your arm was completely ripped off, and if she had to describe how it had been torn, it would have looked like string cheese, as though someone had torn it off in such a way, as to torture you.
Another hole through your chest, your intestines no longer existed and your spinal cord severed, but, through and through, they were told you still won.
Only dropping down when a sorcerer came, giving them a smile before plopping down.
“Let me see her.” Satoru tells her, but his grip is weak, his hands tremble.
“Let me heal her first—”
“Let me see her first! I want to see.. I want to see how she won.” He says, his voice going from a loud shout to a soft whisper.
Shoko lets go, turning away because she doesn’t want to have to bear the sight of the scene once more.
Satoru drops it, wanting to scream but nothing will come out, wanting to cry, but his eyes are just so dry.
He wants to say something, but his voice is gone.
He’s gone.
He stares down blankly at the corpse, The Strongest is dead.
The next one will take over, the cycle never ending.
He doesn't even realize that his breathing grows labored, his eyes, for the first time in his life, are unable to see.
His six eyes, the jewels of his clan, prevent him from seeing.
He can’t feel anything, he can’t move, but he finds himself in the middle of your apartment. Pictures of him and you and Shoko and Suguru, and Yaga—
Everybody.
With that dingy camera, you snapped hundreds of photos. He knew where you would hide the camera, so when he skimmed through it, he found himself falling apart. Pictured from days he doesn't even remember, his childhood all in this stupid old camera.
So stupid.
But he can’t contain himself. He can’t control his heart, the way his forehead hits the wood floors as he begs God, He who blessed the young Gojo, for her back. He would give anything for her back. His heart was with her, it would never come back.
The more he clicked through them the more he would ache. Looking at the photos with a trembling hand, he comes across one where the four of them are smushed in the back seat of a car. All of them sleeping, with someone else, presumably the driver that you threatened begged to take a photo for you. You were winking, finger to your lips like you were shushing.
Shoko was on top of your lap, Suguru and Satoru on either side, leaning on your shoulders.
He chuckled, and the more we went, the more silly photos he came across. He found himself wiping his tears away, replacing them with his laughter.
Shoved away in his pocket was your armband, which he now used as his blindfold, and in the other.
A dingy old camera to take photos, and make memories with his students.
But, sometimes, he’ll go back to the original camera, that hides away in the same drawer, looking at the past and reliving those memories.
He wonders how Megumi feels every time he looks at the numerous photos of you that are scattered in the house. The carvings of Gojo’s height, made by you as he grew. The two strongest, living in one house, at the same time. So, he looks Megumi, possibly as a projection of himself, but he has Tsumiki. He also finds it funny, when Itadori is with him, baring the same smoke you once had.
Wanting to laugh, it seems that the Strongest are always taking in the enemy's kid. It’s like a bong between them all.
From one strongest to another.

why do you think that female char are no longer well written on jjk? /genq (i am caught up with the manga so don't worry about spoilers)
SPOILERS AHEAD!!! for me all of this began with nobara's death and it went downhill from there, now see I understand it might've been important to give yuuji motivation etc but when a roach naoya get's to survive again and again after getting killed but there is no hope for nobara who was one touch kill and had chances of survival but doesn't purely for shock factor, it doesn't sit right with me.
Okay, ignore even that maybe it's my attachment to the character talking so let's talk about other female characters: most of the fandom forgets momo exists that's how useless he made her, she suffered no serious damage (not as far as I remember) and her only active role was in kyoto goodwill arc and an appearance in shibuya we barely see her after that.
Gege treats female characters as a catalyst for mcs, either they're completely useless or get killed off or even if they're powerful enough they're barely mentioned or shown doing something useful.
Example for catalyst: We literally never really see Utahime in action except in Shinjuku Battle to boost Gojo's ct. Like really? That's your semi grade 1 sorcerer and all throughout the manga that was her only role?
Example for completely useless: I already talked about momo, lets about miwa okay, she put her everything to that one swing post-shibuya against kenjaku only for him to deflect it with his bare hands and what about her after that? Nothing!! She gave up everything and now she cannot do anything, just another cheap tactic to get rid of another useful character.
Example for killed: Listen I will accept Mai's death because it served the purpose and was one of the most impressive parts but other than that? Yuki Tsukumo, the special grade, the star plasma that rejected even tengen and cornered kenjaku, her death was so anticlimactic and unsatisfactory, she was practically winning but apparently "a miscalculation" caused her death, listen I like a shocking plot twist and death but that seemed like nothing but an excuse to get rid of another strong female character because gege had no idea how he'd use her in future.
More example for catalyst: Tsumiki and Yorozu (aka the same body but!) she was such a driving force for Megumi but after Culling Game arc hit we got a tease of her (or them) and that provided more motivation for megumi to fix things to work harder to bring his sister back but instead of seeing more of her gege killed her off after sukuna took over megumi's body because her purpose was served!! Done. She was there as long as she could be used as a beacon of hope for our poor boy.
Example of if powerful then they're barely shown: Shoko and Mei Mei, we know both of them are quite capable, they've proved their worth and aside from the fact that Mei Mei is a fucking pedophile she's still a great sorcerer but now she doesn't care about sorcerers and henceforth isn't present/doesn't provide much or any help at all other than the telecast. Shoko on the other hand, we're supposed to believe that her using rct is special and she's one of the most important characters mind you she's the part of the og trio but we rarely get to see her. Even know (the up to date manga chapters) they keep talking about taking the injured sorcerers to shoko but they never !! show !! her !! in !! action !! Like c'mon she's been working overtime but SOMEHOW gege can't dedicate more than four panels to her?
Now onto Maki, the only one standing, the only female character gege truly utilised gave her one heck of goal and arc and then very conveniently forgot her for next 100 chapters. She's great yes, and gege's finally back to currently giving her the attention she deserves which I am very skeptical about because if he just kills her off in next chapter to make a statement istg...but everytime she's mentioned they HAVE to mention toji, it's almost like she'll never leave his shadow, all her achievements are boiled down to FEMALE TOJI which, don't get me wrong I love toji but she's more than that, she's a monster because she wiped out a whole clan not because she shares same superhuman powers as her predecessor and dare I say she's already surpassed toji at this point.
Let's not forget Uro and Angel/Hana whom gege brought in once for one job and then we all completely forgot about them. (I am mentioning them last because he's done this with many other characters so they're truly not an unique case in that sense)
Returning back to when jjk first was fairly new and we had these panels
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it was hype we thought FINALLY!!!! she doesn't denounce her femininity but isn't used as a fan service material through them either and she's fucking nuts and strong FINALLY!!! only for gege to go well now that you've had the crumbs you're getting neither, not the pretty ones nor the strong ones and even if they're strong I am going to act like they don't exist so have fun!! And that's why I think he's really downgraded.

"If Gojo and Geto were really best friends, then why didn't Gojo realize there was something wrong with Geto mentally beforehand?"
And then I saw someone said that Satoru and Shoko were probably too selfish or too dense to notice...
A lot some factors play into Suguru's path to becoming a curse user, but I wouldn't say Shoko and Satoru were "too selfish, too dense".
With Shoko, she was indeed a friend to both Satoru and Suguru. But she wasn't always around, not because she didn't care to be. It was because she couldn't be. She practically had to stay at the school because her Reverse Curse Technique and sharpen that technique.
And it wasn't as if Shoko wouldn't have listened to Suguru because later on in the manga, she makes a comment about Satoru believing he was alone after Suguru left. She says he wasn't alone because she was right there.
Now with Satoru, he isn't dense and I know Satoru is arrogant to some level, but I don't even think he's selfish like that. He did notice something was up with Suguru. He did question him if he was alright and Suguru just told him it was summer heat. Satoru being Suguru's best friend, trusted that answer and probably didn't want to push it any further. I don't think he wanted to bother Suguru, just as much as Suguru probably didn't want to bother anyone else. He never would have thought Suguru would start questioning how things work in the world because the Suguru he knew always cared about others. Why do you think he spazzed out when he learned of what Suguru had done?
We saw the year prior that with Riko was upset about leaving the beach, Satoru suggested they stay longer. So it's not Satoru doesn't notice when someone is feeling some type of way. In fact, around that time, he was growing into being more considerate about others. Suguru deflecting solidified Satoru's change into who he became later down the line.
Also, just like with Shoko, Satoru was separated away from Suguru a lot of the times. He became the strongest and was assigned on more solo missions. The schedules for missions are irregular so they probably couldn't meet like that, let alone at all!
I think what gets me about people pointing fingers at who is to blame for Suguru's downfall is that it's at Satoru and Shoko who are just as much as victims to Jujutsu society and the Higher-Ups as Suguru was.
Even crazier, no one says anything about Yaga who was Suguru's teacher, who blames himself. And I wouldn't say he's at complete fault either given how the Higher-Ups treat him.
Sometimes, I feel like people who blame Satoru and Shoko are just Satoru haters (and maybe to an extend SatoSugu haters and looking for an "excuse" to slander the ship) and people who don't care about female characters.
Same fandom that likes to throw Yuki under the bus as if she directly told Suguru "go kill all non-shamans" in his ear.
Moments before she even appeared in that scene Suguru makes a comment to Yu saying how he's a good judge of character with "then why are you sitting next to me then" (or something along those lines), so he already knew that he (Suguru) was heading down a dark path.
It was just how it was gonna happen and what exactly what bothering him.
Yuki was just trying to have a conversation with him, that's it.
With Satoru and Shoko, they were just kids, too being unfairly used like tools.
Look, Suguru did wrong, but given all that has happened it was indeed going to happen. He was just a kid who at a time believed in doing good.
If, again, anyone should be blamed it's the Higher-Ups who treat those who work under them like garbage.
Who in their right mind sends a damn teenager on solo missions? Let alone one to a village?! With those kind of people?! (Because I don't doubt that the HUs didn't know what kind of people they are if they got word of what was happening. Surely, one of the villagers said something about the twins and blamed them. Two innocent little girls, mind you.)
Like, the HUs are the same people who orchestrated a death mission practically just to kill Yuji and would have also gotten Megumi and Nobara killed, too.

Soulmate AU | In this world your soulmate's name appears on your wrist when you turn 10 years old. Now what happens when that soulmate abruptly leaves you to chase his own goals? His best friend steps in of course.
JJK 0 Movie Spoilers!!!! No Manga Spoilers :)
Gojo x Y/N (past Geto X Y/N)
Word Count : 3.8k
————————————————-
She’s here, Satoru thinks. Finally, she’s here. He watches as she runs despite her shaky legs. Sweat trickling down her face as she makes it in front of Gojo. Inhaling gasps of air as her stare reaches his face. Fear, sadness, and uncertainty in her eyes.
She must’ve ran all the way here since she heard the news. How can he help here? What’s he supposed to do? He wants to hold her and never let go. He wants to be there, comfort her, but he knows if he crosses those lines, they will be crossed forever. He can’t tell her the truth about her soulmate mark. Not yet.
“He’s dead” Satoru tells you. There’s no expression on his face, and he doesn’t apologize. He doesn’t know if he should. Satoru isn’t sure he deserves to talk to you now that Suguru is dead.
Satoru killed his best friend and your soulmate. He knows beneath your arm sleeve, sprawled across your wrist, is Suguru’s name. His face remains blank. “He wanted me to tell you he loved you back then.”
He doesn’t mention how Suguru said he would’ve done it all again. You don’t need to know that.
He watched as she tried to remain standing while shaking with grief. The look on her face showed that she most likely knew that he was already gone. He knows she’s about to-
She starts falling to the ground as her knees give out. Satoru catches her without thinking. He treats her like glass. Making sure his hands don’t hold onto her waist too rough. He lifts her up and carries her towards the closest wall. He sits down leaning against the cool structure of bricks, placing her sitting down next to him. Going against his inner thoughts of setting her down on his lap. Not now. Not yet. Satoru notices how the tears in her eyes have increased, flowing down her cheeks.
Satoru doesn’t say anything. He says nothing as she cries. He says nothing as she scoots closer to him for comfort. He says nothing when she leans against him, her head on his shoulder.
“I-I didn’t make it in time, again” she says in between her continuous sobs full of grief and heartache.
Her words hit him. Again. That one word hit him the most. Her hands that were once gripping his shirt on the side loose their grip. He feels her hands turn into fists one second and go limp the next.
Why, Satoru finds himself thinking, I don’t want to watch this play out again. He doesn't want to see her broken all over for a second time. Like back then all those years ago, when Suguru left Jujutsu Tech for good. How she didn’t leave her room for days. She didn’t take any missions. Was broken up with through a letter left by Suguru on her side table by her bed. Saying how Y/N deserved better, and to not look for him. That was years ago yet it still haunts Satoru til this day.
He’s broken out of his thoughts when he feels tugging on his purple long sleeved jacket. He looks down to his side to see her crying still, clinging onto him. “S-Satoru it hurts” she says breathing irregularly.
Just this one time. Satoru knows he really shouldn’t, but he just can’t resist. He picks her up gently and places her on his lap. He wraps his arms around her pulling her in. Letting her rest her head against his chest. He tightens his grip, wanting to make sure she’s not going to just slip out of his arms, wishing things would just freeze at this exact moment. He wants to comfort you, to heal your grief and make your pain and exhaustion go away.
“Promise me you won’t leave me either Satoru. I know I have Nanami, Shoko and the others but…. you're different. Don’t leave me too” she says in a shaky tone as she looks up at him. Her eyes are still a little teary and puffy from her cries.
Don’t leave me too. The words send a shiver up his spine. He couldn’t do that to her. Satoru’s eyes slowly close as he holds her in his arms. He promises himself that no matter what he can’t leave her, especially not now. Satoru wants to pat her back as she cries. Maybe squeeze her a little bit too hard just so she knows he’s here and that she’s safe, but he doesn’t. Instead he just holds her so she never falls, so she never runs from him. “I won’t let anyone take you away from me” he silently tells her.
Satoru watches as the tears continue to fall from the corners of her eyes. She needs me. The grip he holds on her increases in firmness as he slowly wipes the water drops away with his thumb, never letting her go. I need to be here. I have to be here. She looks so small and helpless in his arms. “I’m here” Satoru whispers, brushing some of her hair out of her face, “I’m here.”
She looks at his face. Wanting nothing more than to see those icy blue eyes. They always brought her a sense of comfort. It always felt like something pulled her in. Almost as if he read her mind, he takes off his blindfold and puts it in his pocket. Looking at her directly. Those icy blue eyes holding secrets and emotions behind them. But also comfort and peace. “Satoru stay by my side forever” she says softly, almost like a demand but pleading in her voice. The tears in her eyes are still there but no longer spilling out.
“I promise I’ll always be by your side” he leans down, his forehead touching hers as he holds her against him. His voice is shaky, but it’s firm. He’s never leaving her.
Satoru watches as she clings onto his neck, burying her face in it. Letting out the remaining tears. It’s all he can do while he watches the grief continue. Tears soaking up his jacket at the collar. As long as she never has to cry alone again, Satoru doesn’t mind.
“Why is it always me? Everyone I love ends up dying or leaving me. My soulmate, my family, my friends……maybe I am destined to be alone!” she cries out.
“Stop” Satoru says, his voice sharp and firm. He finally pulls away as he looks her straight in the eyes. His voice lacks emotion, but his words are not soft, “You’re not alone.”
He lets out a breath, wanting to reach out and wipe away her tears, to wipe away the pain she’s feeling. “I’m not leaving you. Ever.”
“What if I lose you too? I’m just like a curse! Bad luck follows me. What if you get wrapped in it too” her breathing starts getting heavy as she starts panicking. “I-I can’t I-I don’t know-“ she says as she holds her head.
Satoru looks at her with sympathy in his eyes as she continues to panic. He knows what she must be feeling like right now. Her heartbreak is evident on her face, her voice is shaky and she’s about to start bawling again.
“Stop.” He tries to calm her. “Stay calm and listen to me.”
“I-I can’t. All I can hear in my head is his voice. Sugurus voice” she says breathing heavily, holding her head harder. “It’s so loud. Make it stop!” she cries out.
With Gojos six eyes he can see her cursed energy fluctuating at unstable levels. Satoru’s face tightens, his brows knitting together in slight confusion. What she’s experiencing right now isn’t normal. He’s definitely seen people break down, but never like this. She’s hearing voices, almost like the last remnants of her soulmate's soul is creating this pain. That’s impossible though. Unless…
As Y/N is experiencing these symptoms, Gojo sees her soulmate mark start glowing under her knit sweater sleeve. He can barely see through the small holes of the sweater but he can see it. Her soulmate mark…. Suguru’s name is disappearing, being erased. Suguru’s mark is fading? It shouldn’t be possible for the mark to fade unless her soul isn’t compatible with his soul anymore. But it’s only been… He died an hour ago. That’s quite fast. But looking at the mark disappearing in real time makes her soulmate mark disappearing more real, more permanent. Satoru’s eyes narrow, the feeling of unease growing in the pit of his stomach. He already knows what’s about to happen. Right now? Damn it all.
Satoru stares at her, his breath catching in his throat as he sees the mark take a new form. His heart races. Satoru’s throat gets dry before he speaks, his heartbeat rising with each word. “Y/N” he says in a hoarse tone. “Y/N, look at me.”
He watches as she reluctantly opens her tear filled eyes, waiting for her to say something, anything. She’s slowly calming down as her soulmate mark stopped glowing. Her eyes are the same as they’ve always been. The same colored eyes he’s lost himself in several times. It’s now or nothing. I hope she doesn’t hate me after this. ”Y/N” he whispers, his voice hoarse from his dry throat, “can you read what your mark says?”
“H-huh? It’s Suguru’s of course-“ she stops herself when she lifts her sleeve and looks down at her arm to see... a different name? She blinks multiple times and rubs her eyes quickly. “W-what? But… that’s impossible!”
“I know,” Satoru whispers, watching her with intense scrutiny. His heart skips a beat as he watches her eyes. She thinks she’s hallucinating. She didn’t fully read whose name it is yet. He tries to swallow the knot that’s formed in his throat, forcing his voice to remain steady. “What’s the name on your skin?”
She looks quickly at her wrist, reading the name. And her heart stops in her chest. No way….. how is that- she has to reread it ten times for it to fully register. Y/N lifts her head and slowly looks at his face in shock. “….S-Satoru…. your name…… why is it-”
She finally knows. Satoru watches as the realization sets in on her face. Her eyes broaden, and he sees the expression of confusion and disbelief wash over her features. It all matches up. The fading in the shape of the mark, the mark changing all together. It’s really happening.
The soulmate mark she had with her previous soulmate of six years has been rewritten in his name.
“B-but…. Sugurus name…” she looks all over for it but it’s completely disappeared. How? “Is it because….. he’s passed away? B-but I’ve never heard of a case where the mark changes just because their soulmate passed away!”
She still hasn’t realized. Satoru watches her with a growing sense of uneasiness.
There’s something he never told her. “No” he replies softly, watching her read the new name on her skin multiple times. “There’s a different reason.”
With all the strength he has, he takes a deep breath. There’s no saying how she will react. He slowly looks into her eyes.
“Suguru wasn’t your forever soulmate” Satoru says, his voice almost as gentle as it was before. “He was for sometime but…..” he sighs. “There’s been some, not many, but some cases where people have two soulmates. Usually like our case where… one soulmate passes away and the mark changes into the other's name.”
It felt like her whole world was flipped upside down. She’s never heard of cases where people have two soulmates. But it all makes sense now. After Suguru left Jujutsu Tech and they broke up, time passed and she accepted what they had was through. Suguru was too focused on his goals and put them before her. Though it hurt, she forgave him. She eventually accepted, forgave and moved on from that relationship. She still loved Suguru but no longer romantically. As time passed she always felt confused about her soulmate mark, feeling uneasy that maybe she was wrong to move on. Years went by of her being single for some time, and Y/N found herself in a predicament.
That white haired dummy started making her heart beat. His stupid jokes that made her laugh even when they weren’t funny at all. His dumb laugh that made her turn away from him because she didn’t want him to see her warm cheeks. His piercing blue eyes that made her nervous under his gaze on those rare occasions he didn’t wear his glasses or blindfold. No wonder she felt drawn to him, her soulmate. Gojo Satoru.
Though she knew he was telling her the truth, she was still flabbergasted. “T-that’s…..” she says in shock. She already knows her mark says Satorus name but she needs to see it on him. She wants to see it. Needs to. “But….. does that mean….. let me see!”
She wastes no time and starts pulling up his sleeve to see his soulmate mark. Satoru doesn’t even have a chance to react. Y/N already pulled up his sleeve to see his soulmate mark, and he just lets her. She needs to know, that’s for sure. She sees her name clear as day on his wrist. Then something clicks, he must’ve had another soulmate too right? She wonders who it was. Her curiosity gets the best of her. “Wait… Satoru…. Whose name did you have before mine on here-“ she freezes as she looks at him and sees an odd look in his eyes. Like…… apologetic and worry?
“Always” he replies softly. He forces himself not to look away, forcing himself not to blink. He’s staring right into her eyes, his own eyes wide open and unblinking. “You were always my one and only soulmate, Y/N.”
And there she goes. She’s piecing it all together. She understands what happened. She understands everything, and it’s all hitting her like a ton of bricks. When she and Suguru started dating all those years ago. The times she tried to touch Satorus arm, how he’d shy away and cover the mark up. She’s remembering how he’d cover it up with a jacket, and how he’d find any reason to keep her from looking at his mark.
For a few moments, Satoru doesn’t talk. He can’t. He doesn’t know what to say. His heart hurts when he looks at her, when she sees the disbelief in her eyes. “I think Suguru always knew” he finally replies softly. “I think he knew from the beginning, but he didn’t want to spoil it for you. He wanted to let you be the one to figure it out.”
“This whole time……” she says in shock still. “When we first meet. When I got Sugurus' name on my arm. When me and him started going out… when he… left Jujutsu Tech…..”
“Me,” he answers, finally finding the word that had been stuck in his throat this whole time. He wants to scream, wants to tell her that he was always here, always watching. He wanted to be with her from the beginning. But instead, Satoru remains still, almost like he’s afraid that he might ruin it all by speaking. How ridiculous. He’s pathetic.
In a second, her eyes instantly fill with tears again. God why am I crying so much today?
“Why didn’t you tell me? You’ve been watching your soulmate this whole time….. love another man….. why?” her heart breaks. For two reasons. One because he’s been lying to her this whole time. And another because she realizes he must’ve been hurting.
“Because I didn’t think you’d love me back” Satoru finally says. His answer comes out, and he can’t bring himself to look at her. The guilt he’s feeling is overwhelming, his heart hurting at the thought of her pain. He wants to tell her how sorry he is for lying to her. He wants to apologize for ever letting her think he wasn’t true to her, and wants to beg her forgiveness. But she speaks first.
“Satoru…..” her tears fell down her cheeks. “You were hurting…. All these years?  Since we were… students at Jujutsu Tech?”
“Yes” his response comes out as a broken whisper. He can’t bring himself to meet her eyes. He can see the tears in his peripheral vision, the way her lips are trembling slightly.
He wants to cry alongside her, wants to let her know just how much he’s been hurting all these years. In an instant she immediately hugs him, “Satoru…. I’m so sorry.” Satoru doesn’t know what to do with this. Did she just—
No.
No, that’s not right. She didn’t do anything wrong. She has nothing to do with all this. There’s no reason for her to apologize.
“No” he replies, crouching down slightly to her level. Her tears are falling on her face. He doesn’t wipe them off his cheek, letting her tears run free. “It’s not your fault.”
His heart tightens as she hugs him tighter. As he feels her arms surrounding him, and the warmth of her body and her head on his chest. And he lets himself be a little self-indulgent and rests his jaw on the top of her head. The guilt that he was feeling earlier just melts away, replaced with pure relief.
It’s finally over. She knows the truth, and she doesn’t hate him for it despite all the lies that he’s told.
“It’s not you” he says softly, his voice hoarse from unshed tears.
Her hands go up to his face as she cups his cheeks. So soft. “Satoru…. You are by far the kindest person I’ve ever known” she says softly. And for the first time today she shines a warm smile at him. Her eyes look at him with pure affection and warmth.
Satoru stares as she smiles, overwhelmed by her beauty. He can’t bring himself to stop looking. Everything about her is perfect, from her smile to her adorable nose. The way her eyes crinkle when she smiles is enough to bring his heart beating faster. He can’t help but think that this is the first time he’s actually seen her smile with the purest intent since they’ve become adults.
“It’s time for me to make you happy” she says as she caresses his face. “What do you need to be happy, Satoru?”
Her touch is so gentle that Satoru starts to tremble. He has to keep his eyes open to avoid being overwhelmed by her beauty, and he’s glad he does when he realizes what she’s asking.
“You” he replies simply, not caring at all that it’s such a cliché answer. “If I can have you, that’s all I’ll ever need.”
“Me?” she says as her eyes sparkle a little in the light.
God she’s perfect. Satoru nods his head. He’s never been sure of anything in his life. But he is of this.
“Yes. I want to spend the rest of my life with you” Satoru answers, and for the first time in a while, it comes out like he’s free to say what he wants. If he couldn’t have her, he wouldn’t be able to be happy at all.
“Then….. how about we start over?” she says with a warm smile as she stares at him. He's beautiful.
Satoru is almost shocked by the question, but he instantly knows that he’d give anything for the chance to do so.
“Yes” he answers, nodding enthusiastically. “Let’s start over, right now.”
Her smile brightens up even more and wipes away her dried tears. She looks at him and holds out her hand. Shining that bright smile. Like a movie, the sunset shines on them two. “Hey I’m Y/N. And you are?”
Satoru laughs. A happy, genuine laugh. And he takes her hand, lacing his fingers with hers as he does. The warmth of her skin fills him with happiness. He looks up at her, and despite all the problems they’ve gone through, he can’t help but wish that he could relive every single one of them, simply because she was by his side.
“Satoru” he replies, feeling a warmth in the depths of his stomach. “I’m Gojo Satoru.”
“That’s a beautiful name, Satoru. Why do you always cover your eyes? You think you’re some sort of ninja?” she says holding back a laugh but failing miserably.
Nostalgia. That’s what it is. She said this the first time they met during their student days. She remembers…. And he can’t help but laugh once again. His hands loosen from hers, but he doesn’t release them. He just stares at her as though she just brought him back in time. So he says what he said to her back then.
“So what if I am?” he asks, looking down at her with a playful grin on his face in response to her sarcasm. His voice sounds different, though. It sounds much lighter and more relaxed. “I’m a kinda hot one aren’t I?”
Ah there’s he is. The gojo I know and love. The stupid beautiful fool.
As the two of them walk back to Jujutsu Tech after god knows how long talking about nonsense, they hold hands. Both of them haven’t talked about their feelings towards one another. But there’s no rush. Because they are bonded forever. Soulmates. As Y/N walks while holding his hand, she looks up at the sunset. She smiles, he’s looking down on them isn't he?
Suguru, thank you. I will always hold a place in my heart for you. You were my first love. My first soulmate. And I never once regretted anything. The laughs, the smiles, the love. It was all real. Now I understand why you left without another word. You knew Satoru was my soulmate didn’t you? Of course you did. You knew he would take good care of me. And I would take care of him. Thank you Suguru. For loving me. Now even though we both went our separate paths, I know you are looking down at us. I promise. For you, me and Satoru will be happy. Together. Just wait for us, it might be a long time but one day… the three of us see eachother one day. Thank you Suguru, I’ll never forget you.
Y/N turns to look at Gojo as he rambles on and on about whatever he’s talking about. She looks at him and sees his blindfold is back on. “You truly are a ninja” she says with a cheeky smile. She tunes everything out when he starts joking about how he’s the strongest and she shouldn’t talk to him as anything lower. Causing her to laugh at his ridiculous antics and pulling his blindfold off as punishment. “Agh- you little brat” he says laughing. As they look into each others eyes only one thing pops in their mind….
My forever soulmate.

yet another chapter 236 analysis
Tumblr media
haibara "butted into" nanami's "end", making nanami say a curse can save people too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
haibara's view was pure/uncynical, despite the difficulties of being a jujutsu sorcerer. i think nanami was able to find purpose/value in being a jujutsu sorcerer only after seeing things the way haibara saw them. nanami's flashback about helping the bakery worker comes to mind.
more importantly, haibara helped nanami feel like it was okay to pass the baton. [as it went: haibara -> nanami -> yuuji (also recently: nanami -> ino)]. in other words: haibara encouraged nanami to let others pick up where he left off, and not take on everything himself (what once was a burden, became a relief),
Tumblr media
i think this is where nanami was coming from when he spoke about all this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
throughout his life, nanami wasn't the type of person that's open to entrustring everything to the next generation, but at the end he did so anyways. thanks to haibara. (currently in the manga, the theme continues. higuruma -> yuuji; to be a jujutsu sorcerer is to inherit other's will. keep the ball rolling).
what i find interesting is that the two of them are meant to contrast gojo and geto in some way. it's why their backs are to each other specifically in this arrangement:
Tumblr media
i think in this scene, gojo opposes nanami in the way that he looked towards the past in his final moments while always being the type that betted on the future. whilst geto opposes haibara's outlook on jujutsu sorcery (to him it's an endless marathon).
moreover, just as a curse exists between nanami and haibara, i think it's implied that a curse exists between gojo and geto.
what type of curse, you may wonder?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
love of course. when gojo says "i see" after nanami explains his "end", i think it's meant to show gojo's shifting view on what he considered his own curse: love.
(note that the phrase "the absolute strongest. the loneliness that follows. the one that will teach you... about love is..." also appears in chapter 236)
and there are already several mentions of love as a source of strength in jujutsu kaisen. particularly in relation to yuta who indisputably parallels gojo in vol 0.
initially, yuta accidentally cursed rika because he refused to let her die, akin to how gojo accidentally "curses" geto. that is, his love makes him avoid killing him for ten years as well as hand over his corpse to shoko— leading to the night parade of 100 demons, geto's body being possessed, gojo to become sealed, etc
Tumblr media
conclusion to the story in vol 0 being that while love can be an awful curse, it can also save people. think yuta's "this is pure love" vs geto's "then this is justice."/a great cause.
this is something gojo belatedly realizes or accepts in death.
love/geto saved gojo from the dreaded loneliness that comes with unrivaled strength. not just by matching his power, but by satisfying the vague thirst inside him for something beyond his strength. (sukuna goes on to call gojo greedy in chapter 237 for craving this satisfaction/love).

You didn’t ask it before, but now that you were directly staring at it from behind, his back was really beautiful. The strong muscles that appeared on his back while it pressed against the suit he was presently wearing, you could still see it enough to be mesmerized. A wine cup in your hand, a peaceful gathering, you were having the best time of your life.
“You’re staring again, Y/N.” A voice that interrupted your thoughts called out to you, turning your head sideways, your eyes made contact with Shoko’s. Her smile widening before it became a smug before she nudged your shoulder with her elbow playfully.
“Who wouldn’t stare?” Utahime asked, her eyes gesturing over to where your husband stood, surrounded by the other men who looked like they were having an interesting discussion, but you knew Utahime was staring at Gojo, her eyes filled with attraction as she stared.
Riko groaned loudly, her hands wrapping around Shoko’s and Utahime’s necks, using them as stools and making fun of the position she found herself in. “Focus less on them and more on me, please.”
“We are, love, it’s just two lovebirds who won’t take their eyes off their Prince Charming.” Shoko lowered her head to release her neck from Riko’s grip, just before her fingers found their way to the sides of Riko and tickled her. You walked around where Utahime was standing to sit down on a chair with your left leg crossed against your right.
“It’s just Utahime.” When you responded to Shoko’s comment, a loud laughter echoed throughout the entire room, which surprisingly was a result of Riko and Shoko, who continued to chase the poor girl while trying to tickle her sides again. Your eyes drifted around the huge room you were in, searching for someone, before a loud gasp came from Utahime.
“What?” You wondered, your head facing towards Shoko and Riko who stood still in front of Utahime. Their eyes were focused on something, but you couldn’t see despite the way you moved your head around to look at what was happening, but judging from Shoko’s expression, which was disgusted, told you a few things. It was something mortifying if someone who’s specialized in staring at death bodies daily could react with such intense emotion.
“I thought she wasn’t attending the ceremony.” Riko whispered to Shoko who’s eyes stayed on whoever they were staring at. But Riko continued, “Geto didn’t invite her, did he? They aren’t close, from what I’ve heard.” As you now stood beside your three friends, your eyes noticed what caught their attention, and it was Mei Mei who flirtatiously whispered to Gojo.
“That snake.” Utahime grunted, the frustration she was feeling clearly becoming visible on her face. Her eyebrows were intensely raised while her eyes glared at both Gojo for accepting Mei Mei’s invitation to flirt and Mei Mei for forgetting her boundaries. Before you realized it, Mei Mei had pulled Gojo aside from the group of men, who were too involved in their conversation to notice Gojos absence and Utahime’s intense anger.
Confused by the entire situation, you remained silent while Riko tried to calm Utahime down by taking her outside. Soon after, a tug was felt from your dress, your eyes glanced down to your baby boy who stared up at you with his eyes.
“Mama.” He called out to you, his other hand carrying his stuffed animal, and his lips pouted. You smiled down at your adorable boy, his black hair fluffed up probably from him constantly rubbing against it, a habit you noticed him inhabiting. Your hands wrapped themselves around his underarm before lifting him up against your hips, instantly pressing a kiss on your cheek.
“My cute baby, what are you doing here?” You wondered, but the expression present on his face told you everything you needed to know. “Did you do something wrong?”
“No, mama.” He answered back, his head caressing your shoulder before Shoko came behind the both of you, pinched your son's cheek, and laughed at his reaction.
Megumi wasn’t a very emotional boy, he kept to himself most of the time, but he was ruthless when it came to violence. Probably a trait he inherited from his father.
Shoko pinched his cheek again, an evil smirk appearing on her face insinuating she enjoyed it. “Oh no, he’s glaring at me.” She said with sarcasm evident in her voice followed by a giggle. Megumi, annoyed at this point, lifted his head up from your shoulder, shuffled his body slightly before he carefully pulled away from your embrace to chase Shoko around with his stuffed animal still in his hand.
Shoko left out a quiet muffled “shit” before she started running around the room away from a six-year-old toddler who held grudges. Completely distracted by the hilarious scene in front of you, you didn’t notice the presence behind you until his arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you closer to him. His head rested against your neck, a slow kiss pressed against it before he left out a loud sigh. The familiar and intoxicating scent of his exquisite perfume filled both your nostrils, creating an enchanting and exhilarating sensation of nervous butterflies in your stomach, which in turn made your face blush and radiate a gentle warmth. The strong and well-defined muscles that you had been admiring from afar now enveloped you in their comforting and inviting embrace, instantly causing a slight weakness in your knees, ironically juxtaposed against your initial admiration.
“I’d pay a dime for Sukuna to take a class in shutting up.” Toji said, his hand releasing your waist before turning you around to face him.
“You wouldn’t.” You replied, a small grin forming from the corners of your lips. “You’d use that dime for something else.”
He chuckled. “Yeah?”
“Yes, you would,” you confidently replied, flashing a wider smile as Shoko and Megumi made their way back to where you stood. Shoko held onto Megumi's hand, you couldn't help but notice the ice-cream sandwich that Megumi was enjoying. Toji's eyes met yours, and he wore a mischievous smile that hinted at his mischief. It was clear that he had something up his sleeve. As Megumi approached with Shoko, Shoko let go of his hand, allowing Toji to snatch the ice-cream sandwich from Megumi's grasp. Toji swiftly placed it in his mouth and took a big bite, causing Megumi to scream in surprise. It was all too much for you to handle, you decided to distance yourself from the chaos. Taking hold of Shoko's arm, you guided her towards the exit door, where Utahime and Riko were waiting. You left Toji to deal with the aftermath of Megumi's anger, knowing that it was not your responsibility to handle.
By the doorway, Shoko stopped walking, holding up a finger to her lips, indicating that there was someone already outside. Both of the heads stuck out, being met with kissing noises, hands over each other, and deep desperation. Your eyes instantly went up to Shoko who met your gaze despite her darkened eye bags underneath her eyes, both of you giggled like teenagers who just saw something embarrassing before quietly returning inside the building.
“I didn’t think they were together.” Shoko nodded in agreement, a hand raised up as she stretched them. “Would Utahime be upset?” A wondering question floated across the room, but the look you and Shoko shared answered it. No, Utahime wouldn’t be upset. Speaking of Utahime, you wondered where she went to, but the big screen turned on as the countdown to the new year started.

A gentle tap on your shoulder caught your attention, and you turned around to see your husband, Toji, and your son, Megumi, standing before you. It was a rare sight to see them reaching a conclusion together, and they both had smiles on their faces. Despite his smile, Megumi's expression was somewhat blunt, but he approached you with a soft pout. As the countdown began, with each passing second, the anticipation grew. Three... two... Just as the final moment arrived, Toji tenderly placed his hand on your cheek, his eyes locked with yours, and he leaned in for a passionate kiss. And then, at the exact moment of one, the fireworks burst into the night sky, captivating your attention. The kiss from Toji was mesmerizing, his lips soft and warm against yours. "Happy New Year, baby." However, before the kiss could deepen, it was abruptly interrupted by Megumi's unexpected kick to Toji's ankle.
Tumblr media
The drive back home was amazing, the fireworks made their appearance throughout the entire skyline, the noises of crowds of people gathered at the square to celebrate the new beginning for everyone while Megumi slept soundly in the back of the car, his eyes shut, but his arms held tightly to his stuffed animal.
“He looks like his mother.” Toji broke you out of thought, his eyes gazing at you then stared over at his son, his hand reaching over to pinch your nose before paying more attention to the road.
Moments later, you found yourself inside your mind at home while putting Megumi to bed, a soft smile appearing on your face as you tucked him to bed, and moved some hair out of his face before admiring his face. He was still asleep, not noticing anything, but you knew his year was bright, growing up so fast, you realized he started to resemble his father.
You tightened the grip around your nightgown, stood up, and walked out of his bedroom. Outside his bedroom, you poked your head in, shut the lights off, and carefully closed his door before walking to the kitchen. There you found Toji pouring himself wine, shirtless, and his hair was down. Almost as if he heard you, his head turned and smiled at your presence.
“Asleep?” He asked, his eyes gesturing towards Megumi’s bedroom, which you nodded to. Toji nodded along with you, for some strange reason, before grabbing another glass, pouring wine into you, and waiting for you to come closer.
“How was it?” You asked, your eyes on the wine, but truly, they were on his body. His chest was exposed, his muscular arms flexed enough to see his biceps, but he knew this.
“How was what?” You pondered, pressing the glass cup up against your lips, trying to think of an answer when you were distracted by his body. Unable to answer, Toji moved his body towards you, his hand placed behind your back, pulling you closer to him. His fingers trailed up your body to your hair, the way his fingers moved made you extremely nervous, but he took off the hair elastic that held your hair in a bun, and with this, your hair flowed down. Better, Toji mouthed, his hands now on your hips before he lifted you to the kitchen counter and proceeded to kiss you.
His kisses were slow, but they had emotion in them. His hands let go of your hips, but they placed themselves on the counter, the grip tightening as Toji leaned in deeper for more from you. Accepting your fate, you wrapped your hands around his neck and kissed him back passionately. Within the kiss, Toji removed your nightgown, his hand grabbing yours before trailing both your hands down into his pants.
“Toji, he’s sleeping.” You muttered, this comment didn’t stop Toji however because he continued using his hand to please himself. Your hand stroked his cock that hid in his pants, upward to the tip which caused Toji to let out a muffed moan, his head resting on your shoulder just as you increased the speed and the grip you had.

series masterlist
[part four] : "Megumi and Tsumiki ___
To her luck, there was a public bench stationed just across the street from the address (y/n) had followed.  So she was able to sit there and mindlessly scroll through her phone while she waited for any sign of the Fushiguro children.
It was nearing five o’clock, and school had long been out, she’d known because she’d just come from breaking into the empty building, so it was only a matter of time before there was some clue of this being the right house.
She could have approached it, peeked through windows, perhaps even tried to break in since getting into the elementary school had been so easy.  But she figured it would look pretty suspicious to break into a house in broad daylight, especially if the kids caught her in the act.
It probably wouldn’t look too good if I was caught breaking into a house to spy on kids, she thought to herself.  So in the end she opted to spy from across the street, at a much safer distance.
But the longer she waited, the more anxious she became.  The battery on her phone was dwindling, the sun was starting to set, and to be honest she was getting a little hungry.  She worried that she would run out of time, and she’d have to come back another day to try again.
Chewing on her bottom lip, she turned her phone off to save what little power it had left, and ran her clammy palms against her jeans.
Just as she was gearing herself up to abandon her investigation for the night, the front door opened.
She quickly turned her head, appearing to look down the street, while she kept her gaze on the house from the corner of her eye.
Megumi, the little boy, stood there, and after a few seconds, his sister, Tsumiki, also appeared.
(y/n) bit her lip to keep her smile hidden.  She’d found them.  After months, she’d finally found them.
She couldn’t help herself from returning her gaze to where the pair stood at the doorway, only to find them running across the street, towards where she sat.  Anxiously, her head whipped in both directions to make sure no cars were coming- to her relief there weren’t- but she still stood to scold the pair as they approached.
“Don’t you know not to go running in the street!?” She asked them.  “You could get very, very hurt!”
She hadn’t seen them so close yet.  Last week when she’d seen them in an altercation with older kids, she’d been too far to get too good of a look at them, but now they were right before her.
While young, Megumi looked just like his father.  She tried to keep her expression neutral, even as a painful, sinking feeling swallowed her gut.
“Why are you spying on our house?” The boy demands, his brows in a deep furrow and his hands on his hips.
She almost wanted to laugh at how adorable he looked.
“I was not spying on your house” She says with a nervous chuckle.
The young boy raises a brow, as though asking, really?
“Megumi, be nice” The girl next to him hissed, before looking up at (y/n) with a sweet smile.
“She’s a stranger!” Megumi hissed back.
(y/n) chuckled at the amusing pair.
“I don’t want to freak you out, or anything,” She tells them.  “I… I know your dad”
She’s not sure if that was the right thing to say or not, but it was the only thing that she could come up with to make her a little less of a freak that was just stalking their house.  They had every right to be scared of her, after all.
“Oh” Tsumiki’s smile faltered.
“Unfortunate for you” Megumi rolled his eyes.
Tsumiki smacks the back of his head, earning a glare from him.
“Yeah,” (y/n) agreed, letting out a breath.  “Quite unfortunate”
The pouty kid eyes her up and down, regarding her agreement with a curious eye.
“Who are you, then?” He asks, albeit unsurely.
“I’m (y/n),” She responds, and crouches down to their level.  “I suppose I already know your names,” She says, smiling between them.  “Tsumiki… Megumi”
The little girl grins ear to ear.
“Dad told you about us?”
Megumi scoffs, rolling his eyes at his sister’s ridiculous sense of hope.
“More or less…” She trails off, trying to find where to draw the line of honesty and oversharing.
It seemed like these kids didn’t even know their father was dead… but she chalked that up to them barely knowing the man at all.
“I don’t know him very personally,” She decides to settle on a small truth.  “But I know enough to know that you two shouldn’t be here all alone”
“We’re not alone,” Megumi deadpans.  “We’re here together”
(y/n) gives him a small smile, finding his words sweet, even if he was still frowning.
“And that’s good,” (y/n) agrees.  “I’m glad that you’re together, you’re safe together, and you should stay together,”
Megumi visibly relaxes a little before her.  His shoulders slump down a bit, and his eyes soften.  (y/n) can tell that the prospect of being taken away from Tsumiki is something that scares Megumi, just from this small interaction.
“I suppose that’s why I’m here,” She tells them.  “I want to help, to make sure that you can stay together”
“That’s nice of you,” Tsumiki says, her elbow nudging into Megumi’s ribs.  “See? Not everyone is a bad person” She chides.
Megumi shoves her elbow away.
“And what’re you going to do to help?” Megumi asks, still not sure he could trust her.  “We don’t need money”
Tsumiki glares at her brother, but (y/n) speaks up before they could pick a fight with each other.
“Well, for starters, if you’re living here alone, you’ll need someone around to help you with adult things”
“You’re a teenager” Megumi’s brows furrowed again.
“I’m eighteen,” (y/n) shrugged her shoulders.  “And I might be all you got,” She adds.  “So when there’s a parent-teacher night at your school, or you need to pay a grown-up bill, that’s what I can be here for,” She explains.  “I know you two are very grown up, and you’ve been very brave, taking care of yourselves,” She smiles warmly between them.  “But it would do you some good to have someone looking out for you, alright?”
Tsumiki nods in agreement, seemingly happy with the arrangement.  Megumi still looks unsure, but he’s not arguing anymore, so (y/n) took that as a good sign.
“If you’ll let me, of course,” (y/n) adds, looking at Megumi directly.  “If you want me to leave you alone, I will.  We can both pretend this never happened, and I’ll go home and you won’t ever see me again”
“No” Tsumiki frowns, shaking her head.
(y/n) smiles at her, and turns to Megumi.
“It’s up to the both of you,” She tells him.  “Do you want me to leave you alone?”
Megumi looks over at his older sister, who’s giving him her best puppy dog eyes and pouty lip.  He caves.
“Fine,” He says to (y/n).  “You can help out”
(y/n) stands, ruffling up both of their hair, much to the young boy’s dismay.
“Alright then,” She says happily.  “Have either of you eaten?”
Both kids shake their heads no.
“Is there any food in your pantry? I’m an excellent cook”
Standing in the kitchen of what was Toji Fushiguro’s home is odd.  (y/n) finds herself examining every little thing that she passes.  For two kids living alone for the last six and a half months, the house wasn’t in as much disarray as she was expecting.  Although she does tell them the next time she comes by, she’s going to catch up on some chores that need doing.  Dusting, vacuuming, but the house is otherwise kept tidy.
“Tsumiki cleans everything” Megumi says, sitting at the dinner table in the kitchen.
(y/n) smiles over at the girl.
“Good for you” She compliments.
“I just clean up the dishes and do the laundry,” She says bashfully, looking down at her hands in her lap.  “I don’t really know how to do anything.  I only know how to make mac and cheese”
“Well, mac and cheese is delicious,” (y/n) tells her.  “But I can make anything you want with what’s here,” She says, looking back at the fairly stocked pantry.
Did these kids shop for themselves?
“So, what sounds good?” She asks.
Megumi and Tsumiki share a glance.
“Anything?” Megumi asks after a beat of silence.
“Sure,” (y/n) agrees.  “Something in mind?”
A small smile finally shows up on his face.
“Do you know how to make french toast?” He asks, hopefully.
(y/n) laughs to herself, and nods her head eagerly.
“I do!” She says.  “Breakfast for dinner it is!”
As she gathers the ingredients and supplies, she tries to make a mental note of where everything is in their kitchen.  She wanted to get familiar quickly, so that she could establish herself as a regular figure in their lives.
She’s not sure what kind of figure that is, caretaker, she supposed, even though they’d done alright taking care of themselves all this time.  She feels warm, and proud, that she’d finally found the elusive Fushiguro kids, and that they’d welcomed her into their home
She spends time getting to know them as she makes them their dinner.  She learns that Megumi is eight, and Tsumiki is almost ten.  (y/n) excitedly told her that they’d have to celebrate her upcoming birthday in a special way.  Megumi wasn’t as open to sharing as his sister, but (y/n) didn’t mind.  For now she’d take his age and that his favorite food right now was french toast, and that was enough.
He’s the one to ask her a question she wasn’t expecting once they all sat down to eat.
“You’re one of those sorcerers, aren’t you?”
(y/n) blinks, quickly trying to think through her answer.  She knew that he was of age to know he had special abilities, so if she lied, she’d get caught in it later if he reveals he’d already known of his cursed technique.  But she’s not sure telling the truth is a good idea, either.
With a sigh, she goes with her gut.
“Yes…” She says, slowly, still trying to find the right thing to say.  “I am”
Megumi nods, stabbing a rather large bite of french toast onto his fork.
“Toji told us about them,” He says.  (y/n) notes how he doesn’t call the man Dad, although she doesn’t blame him.  “Are you a good one? Or a bad one?”
(y/n) chuckles, and her laughter seems to take Megumi by surprise, as his chewing slows and he waits for her answer.
“Well, I suppose I try my best to be good,” She tells him honestly.  “But there’s not really such a thing as all good or all bad, is there?”
"Like yin and yang” Tsumiki says thoughtfully.  (y/n) nods at her.
“Exactly,” She agrees.  “Does that make sense?”
Megumi nods, swallowing his food, and goes back to being quiet.
He spends a long time thinking about what she said.
Once dinner is finished, (y/n) cleans up their plates and does some light organizing in the kitchen while the kids get ready to go to bed.  She feels odd, knowing that she has to leave when they go to sleep.  She doesn’t like the idea of leaving them here alone for the night, but tries to keep in mind that they’ve been doing it all this time.
They’re the most resilient people she’s ever met, for being eight and nine year-olds.
She checks her phone when she wraps up in the kitchen, and curses to herself at how late it was.  It was almost nine o’clock.  She’d have to get back to Jujutsu Tech soon.
She wanders over to the hall where she’d seen Megumi and Tsumiki disappear, and finds their bedrooms across from one another, both of their doors open.  They’re settled into bed, Tsumiki cuddling a small plush tiger, and Megumi holding a book.
They look so comfortable, she thinks, and smiles to herself.
“You’ll both be okay if I go home now?” She asks.
“We don’t need to be tucked into bed, (y/n)” Megumi says dryly.
“Yeah, we’ll be okay” Tsumiki says sweetly from across the hall.
“Alright then,” (y/n) sighs.  “I left my phone number on the table.  If you ever need anything, call me, okay?”
“Okay” The little girl agreed.
Megumi only nodded.
“Goodnight.  I’ll be back as soon as I can”
When she leaves, she pauses on the front steps of the house.  Shutting her eyes, she brings her index and middle finger to her forehead.
“Emerge from the darkness, blacker than darkness.  Purify that which is impure”
With that, she relaxes a little, knowing that no one with cruel intentions could step on the premises.  They were safe for the night, and she could go home without the weight of paranoia now. ___
It’s dark outside when she steps foot through the gates of Jujutsu Tech.  For anyone else, a walk home so late would have been unpleasant, but (y/n) hadn’t minded a little stargazing on her journey.
She’s smiling to herself, recalling fond moments with Tsumiki and Megumi, and is already eager to go back into town the first chance she could get to see them again.  There was a lot she wanted to do, besides chores, she wanted to treat them to some new clothes, maybe toys, too.
She wanted to give them everything that they deserved, and even after a short introduction, she knew they deserved the world, and not the shitty hand they’d been dealt.
If Toji Fushiguro was still alive…
(y/n) shakes her head, pushing away the bitter thought.  He was gone.  His kids were safe.  And she would keep a protective watch over them.  As far as she was concerned, from here on out, they were her responsibility.
When she turned the corner to the hall where her dorm was, there was a figure waiting just outside her door.  Curiously, she crossed her arms as she approached him.
“To what do I owe the pleasure, Suguru?”
He smiles down at her, still leaning against her door.  He wasn’t going to move until he got what he waited here for, and he’d been waiting there for some time now.
“How was your trip?” He asks.
The question sounds casual, but she has a feeling there’s a reason Geto Suguru would stand and wait at her dorm, rather than just text her whatever it was he wanted to say.
(y/n’s) face remains blank as she goes along with the act.
“It was nice,” She answered, reaching for the handle of her door.  “Are you going to let me in?”
He responds by sliding his body in front of the handle before she could grab it.
“In just a minute,” He tells her.  “You’ve been troubling Satoru” His words are bold, matter-of-fact.
She cocks her head to the side, feigning confusion.
“Troubling?” She repeats the word.  “How so?”
Suguru raises a brow, pausing for a moment long enough to give her the chance to drop the act.  She was certainly getting better at playing coy, but she was still a shit liar.
“Well, for starters, I think you hurt his feelings earlier,” He told her.  “He was looking forward to some time with you away from here, you know”
She didn’t know that, but the guilt in her stomach started to claw it’s way around, bringing her great discomfort.
“Oh,” She hums.  “I didn’t realize.  I’ll make it up to him tomorrow-”
“He took another assignment,” Suguru cuts her off.  “He’s leaving tomorrow.  Probably gone for the week”
“Oh” (y/n) repeats again.
“Yeah,” Suguru sighs.  “Oh,” (y/n) frowns back at him, unsure of what he wanted her to say or do.  “Look, whatever it is you’re up to, just clue him in a little, alright?” Suguru asks.
Suguru knew she was up to something? She wondered, her eyes flickering over his features quickly, only to find that he didn’t seem to be interested in whatever it was.  He’s not going to ask me about it?
“It’s freaking him out.  And it’s making him…”
“Worried?” (y/n) mumbled guiltily.
“I was going to say obnoxious,” Geto chuckled.  “But, yeah, he’s just worried about you”
“There’s nothing to worry about,” (y/n) shakes her head.  “I’ve just been shopping around in town more”
Such a terrible liar, Suguru thinks, but he doesn’t press the issue.  Whatever she was up to, wasn’t his business unless she wanted it to be.  She could fend for herself just fine, so if she wanted to spend alone time in the city, then so be it.
Still, he was a little curious as to what it was that she was so adamant about hiding from them.  Especially Satoru.  If (y/n) was keeping a secret from him, she was going to have to be better about it, because he was going to sniff it out himself if she didn’t come clean.
Clicking his tongue, Suguru finally steps away from her door.
“I wasn’t trying to interrogate you, (y/n/n),” He tells her kindly, reaching out to place a hand on her arm.  “I came here as a friend.  To both of you.  Really”
(y/n) nods back at him, believing him.
“Okay”
“That’s all.  Goodnight, (y/n)”
She watches as he turns and wanders down the hall towards his own dorm.
“Goodnight” She mumbles, but he’s long out of earshot by the time she finds her voice.
It’s a near sleepless night for her. ___
The next morning, (y/n) makes a point to get up early to find Satoru before he took off on whatever assignment he’d taken for the week.  After her talk with Suguru the night before, she felt like she should ease his nerves.
She also rarely saw him go, and he’s been taking so many missions lately, a part of her was worried it would be a mistake to not say goodbye.  Just in case.
Not that anything would ever happen to him, he was the strongest, after all.
But still.
She finds him with a backpack thrown over his shoulder and a duffel bag in hand, heading towards the front doors.
“Satoru!” She calls, jogging to catch up with him
He turns around instantly, his features noticeably brighten upon seeing her.  Had she been looking for him?
“Come to say goodbye in case I die?” He teases as she approaches.  She rolls her eyes.
“Yeah right,” She snorted.  “But I did come to say goodbye”
He grins, dropping his duffel to the ground.  Her hair was messy, and she was still wearing her pajamas.  The idea of (y/n) waking up and coming to find him first thing made his heart melt.
“Don’t you worry your pretty head about me,” He tells her.  “I’m not dyin’ anytime soon”
She laughs, shaking her head at his insufferable need to make her blush.  He almost always succeeded.  As he did with most things he took a crack at.
“Well, good,” She replied.  “I happen to not… totally hate having you around”
Satoru gasps, laying a hand over his chest dramatically.
“(y/n) (y/l/n),” He gasps.  “Such a confession could knock a man out, you know”
She laughs at him, smacking his hand.
To her surprise, she succeeds.  He must not have his infinity up right now.
Was it for her own satisfaction from hitting him, or did he always turn it off when she was around?
He laughs with her, enjoying her presence for just a few minutes longer before he had to go.
“And yet you’re still standing” She muses back at him.
“Ah, you only give me strength, sweetheart” He teases.
Her eyes are rolling.  He’s smiling fondly.
Suddenly, he wants to tell Yaga to send someone else to Hong Kong to check out the mysterious murders.  Maybe it would have been immature, but he had no problem saying suck it to the elders and hanging around here for a few more days.
“You’ve been taking on a lot of assignments,” (y/n) notes, dropping the playful mood for a more serious one.  “If I didn’t know any better, I might think you were avoiding us” “Avoiding you? Tch,” He chuckles.  “I could never”
Despite her smile that she can’t seem to wipe off her face, she gives him a look.
“Satoru,” She chides, gently.  “Really,”
It’s quiet, and he gives her a sad sort of smile.
“You’re not giving yourself much of a break,” She says.  “Being the strongest doesn’t mean you always have to be out there, you know”
Her voice grows smaller as she speaks, almost unsure of saying something so bold.  He didn’t exactly ask for her advice, and she didn’t love being vulnerable enough to make it clear that she worried about him when he was gone.
Behind his shades, his eyes search hers, finding the concern that she tried so hard to conceal.  He reaches out, his arm wrapping around her shoulders as he pulls her against him, hugging her tightly to his chest.
“I’m just fine,” He tells her, resting his chin on the top of her head. Sighing, (y/n) gives in, and slowly circles her arms around his waist, hugging him back.
She doesn’t think she’s ever hugged him before.  He smells like mint, and something fresh, like clean laundry.  Against her better judgment, her eyes flutter shut.
“I’ll be back soon,” He says.  “And then we can get right back to perfecting that teleportation of yours”
He pulls away, grinning down at her, poking her nose affectionately.  When she crinkles it and steps back from him, he chuckles.
“Alright,” She nods, wrapping her arms around herself absentmindedly.  “Might want to be careful, though.  Could surpass you one day”
Satoru picks up his duffel bag.
“I hope so,” He says, and it doesn’t sound like he’s messing with her.  (y/n) raises a brow.  Would he really give up his title of being the strongest so easily? “See you in a week, (y/n/n)” He waves, heading out of the building.
“Have a good trip” She calls, watching him go.
Why was her heart pounding so hard in her chest? He was always going on missions these days, would she really miss him this much? She worries, as the door shuts behind him and he’s out of sight, that it might be so. ___

Family Formation Part Seven
Tumblr media
13 hours of labour later, a 56cm, 8lb 5oz, white-haired, sparkling blue-eyed bundle of love was laid in your arms. Exhausted, sore, and sweaty but so full of endorphins it all seems trivial. Satoru had been by your side for the full 13 hours, refusing to eat because you couldn’t, laying behind you supporting your back and giving endless encouragement and finally catching your long-awaited baby boy. You had made a list of names throughout your pregnancy and the second you both laid eyes on your son, there was no other name needing consideration, Akio was perfect.
Satoru had cried (a lot) when his baby boy was put into his arms for the first time as Shoko stitched him up and cleaned him. You had point-blank refused to have anyone except Shoko deliver your baby, which was a smart choice given that this child was the amalgamation of the strongest sorcerer and a sorceress wielding one of the most powerful innate cursed techniques- plus, she was your best friend.
After his first bath and being wrapped in the blanket your great-grandmother had made, Akio was settled into your arms as Satoru went to announce the arrival of his darling boy to the people in the waiting room.
He came in and asked if you were ready for visitors and as tired as you were, you couldn’t wait another moment for Akio to meet his family. Your mom was out of the country and rushing home as you were in labour, dropping all sorcery diplomacy and running to her daughters’ side.
‘Let them in one at a time ‘toru.’ You say as he opens the door and calls in the person who you wanted him to meet first.
A spiky head of raven hair appears in the doorway. You smile and tilt the bundle in your arms to face him. “Gumi, I’d like you to meet your baby brother, Akio Ryu Tadashi Gojo.”
Somehow despite the 9 months’ notice, Megumi seems completely shocked.
“Holy shit, he’s real.” He looks between you and Gojo, who laughs a little at the reaction.
“Yeah kiddo, he’s very real. The bruises on my hand from your mom’s squeezing are the painful proof!” He says, waving his slightly blue wrist.
“Shut up, mom did all the real work. Are you okay? Is he okay? Do you need anything?”
“We’re both fine sweet boy, I’m sore but I did just push out a human so I’m sore. Come closer, honey. He wants to see you.”
Megumi grimaces at the thought of your pain, and also with the awkward teenage boy reaction to childbirth. He slowly moves closer, as if him moving to fast will cause the baby to shatter like glass.
“He looks like you, mom.” He says.
“You think? He’s got your dad’s colourings.”
“Nah, he’s too pretty to look anything like dad.”
You let out a huff of laughter as your husband acts out a wound in his chest on your other side.
“Do you want to hold him?”
“Uh… okay.”
The nerves have spiked in him so you scoot over to make room for him to sit on the bed beside you.
“Okay so put your arms like this, and make sure you hold his pretty little head.” Satoru says as he lifts Akio from you and places him into Megumi’s stiff arms. You smile at how cautious your husband is, you’ve been raised surrounded by children and babies so this all feels like second nature to you.
“Hey ‘lil man. I’m Megumi. I’m your brother I guess. I’m gonna show you some really cool stuff when you grow up, and make sure your dad doesn’t turn you into a clone of himself.” Megumi says to the blinking eyes of the baby he holds. You can tell he doesn’t know what to say, so you wrap you arm around your two sons.
“Megumi is gonna be the best big brother, he can show you his shikigami and show you all the cool music and read you the best books. He’s gonna keep you real safe too.” You say.
There’s silence for a minute as Megumi just looks at the baby.
“Tsumiki would have been so excited about you. She was – is, my big sister. So I guess yours too. I hope she meets you someday.” The slight hitch in his voice shows that holding his baby brother is making him realise how Tsumiki must have felt.
“You will meet her, Akio, and she’s gonna love you so much. Just how she loves Megumi.” You kiss the side of his head, and Gojo squeezes his arm around the boys broad shoulders, for once Megumi leans into him and doesn’t push him away.
“Eh, Nobara told me that you give gifts to the baby when they’re born. So I made something. It’s in my bag on the ground if you wanna grab it.”
Satoru leans down and opens it and freezes. He turns to you and pulls out a book. He sits on your other side and lays the book on your lap for you both to see.
In Megumi’s beautiful tidy cursive, on the cover, is written ‘Your Family’ and ask you open it you see photos he must have taken of you, Satoru, himself, Tsumiki, your parents, Yuuji and Nobara, Shoko and Nanami, Yaga and in one photo, in the corner you notice Geto, smiling with his arm around Gojoy, you had both discussed that you would raise your kid to know about his Uncle Geto as the man he was in high school, before the world became too much for him. Yaga makes an appearance too, along with Utahime and the second years. There’s wedding photos from you and Satoru’s big day, ones you remember Shoko taking in high school, photo’s you’ve never seen before from your pregnancy, ones of you and Satoru on missions. You realise that there’s an ‘introduction’ to each family member on each page and you begin to sob reading them.
“Oh shit, I didn’t know you’d cry.” Megumi says, panicking he’d upset you.
“Oh no sweetheart, it’s happy tears. I love it so much, it’s so beautiful. I can’t believe you did this, he can keep it forever now. Thank you, darling boy.” There’s tears in Gojo’s eyes too, behind his small sunglasses as he sweeps you 3 into a hug in his long arms.
“Um, it’s okay, I’m glad you like it. Figured he’d need a roadmap to navigate this mess.” He smirks. “Are you gonna let the others in?”
“Should we FaceTime Yuuta?” Satoru asks.
“No it will be 3am for him, we’ll ring him later. Akio’s not going anywhere.” You say, making sure your newest stray child gets his sleep is important.
“Satoru, godfather next.” You say and Satoru opens the door and waves his hand.
In walks Nanami, suit jacket draped over his arm and glasses tucked into his pocket.
“Akio! This is your Uncle Nanamin!” Satoru joyful waves between the two of them, and the tick in Kento’s jaw makes you laugh, he walks over to you on the bed, Akio now back in your arms and Megumi on the armchair beside you, Satoru standing just staring at his son.
“Congratulations, Y/N, Satoru. You did wonderfully. Was he a healthy size?” Nanami asks, practical as ever.
“8lbs 5oz and 56cm, he got his father’s height.” You say, looking at your towering man.
“And his hair and eyes, but he definitely looks like you, Y/N. He’s too cute to look like Gojo.” He says.
“Is everyone going to say that? I – am offended.” Satoru says pointing at Nanami. You laugh and you hear Megumi snort.
“Kento, we were hoping to ask you a question now you’re here.” You say, looking to Satoru, wanting him to ask.
“We were hoping that you wouldn’t just be Uncle Nanamin, but maybe you would be godfather Nanamin?” He says making a theatrical gesture towards the baby.
For once, the smile on Nanami’s face isn’t hidden.
“I would be honoured, Akio. But please, call me Uncle Kento. I presume Shoko is the godmother.”
“Godmother and doctor who delivered him.” You nod.
Nanami lifts a box from behind him.
“A gift for my godson.” He hands it to Satoru who wastes no time in opening the gift and goes “Wow! That’s so cool!” before he shows it to you, it’s a beautiful wooden box with ‘keepsakes’ engraved on the front.
“Oh Nanami, it’s wonderful, thank you so much! I love it.”
“Of course, shall I let the next guests in?”
He turns and calls in Yuuji and Nobara, who push past each other to get through the door first and you can hear the bickering.
The both gasp when they enter the room.
“Sensei! Y/N! That’s a baby!” Yuuji exclaims and Nobara’s mouth hangs open.
“Great observation Itadori.” Megumi smirks.
“No it’s just like – wow, you made a whole person! Well like a small one but still a person! It’s crazy!” He almost jumps toward you and stares through big brown eyes as Nobara skips toward you.
“Oh my god Sensei he’s so cute!!! His tiny hands!! And feet!! And nose!! What’s his name?? You’re so amazing Y/N!” She says. These two are definitely a different speed from the other two visitors in the room.
“His name is Akio.” You smile.
“Are you okay Y/N? Did it hurt really bad? Is there a way we can help?”
“I’m okay, Yuuji, and the pain was worth it.”
A mouth appears on Yuuji’s face.
“Hmph, the Gojo spawn has arrived I see. You’re stronger than I expected, woman.”
A chorus of ‘shut up Sukuna’ echoes across the room. But you look directly at his cheek and say,
“Thank you, Ryomen.” He sneered and retreated.
“I got you these Y/N!” Yuuji’s smile takes over his whole face as he hands you a huge bouquet of peony roses.
“I remember Gojo was talking about how they’re your favourites but the flower lady laughed when I asked for penises, and Nobara really died laughing so she told me they’re called Peonies.” You and Satoru burst into hysterical laughter at the thought of Itadori asking a florist for penises.
“They are my favourite, thank you honey, they’re so beautiful. Nanami, would you mind putting them in some water for me?” You say and he takes the flowers from Yuuji and you give him a kiss on the cheek.
Nobara whisks out a huge gift bag and says,
“I went shopping and bought some cute baby clothes! Look at these dungarees, they have tiny lions on them!” She shoves the bag at Satoru who nearly tumbles at its size, proving she went way overboard.
“You two are both so sweet, thank you guys. You’re both gonna make great babysitters.”
They both squeal and move to sit on the arms of the chair beside Megumi.
The next people to come in were the second years, Inumaki saying ‘Tsuna!’ As soon as he saw the baby and giving you a thumbs up and pat on the head. Panda began crying because the baby was so cute and small, and Maki immediately asked how you were, telling you she is amazed by your strength and how great you are for delivering a whole child. Toge and Panda had pitched together to buy Akio a stuffed panda and a jellycat riceball. And Maki, in very Maki fashion, brought diapers and wipes. Shoko came to the door next, returning from a rest after delivering your son.
“Mei Mei’s crows just dropped these off, they’re from Utahime and her.” You smiled taking the bags from her. Utahime was on a mission at the moment and couldn’t make it down to see you, but had sent you a beautiful card congratulations you and saying she was happy Satoru could do something right, and a beautiful box of postpartum beauty supplies, stretch mark cream and cooling eye patches included. Mei Mei also sent a card, with a set of the most expensive looking matching satin pyjamas for you and Akio.
Yaga also dropped by, clapping Satoru on the shoulder and whispering, “Well done, my boy.” To him, you knew this meant a lot to Satoru.
Your family had already given you your gift for your son, a cutting from a tree from your family home that your great great great great grandmother planted when her first child was born, using your families innate inherited technique. The tree bloomed soft blue flowers year round, no matter the weather and always seemed to faintly glow at night.
The Gojo clan, they had sent the Gojo heirloom silver rattle which Satoru had once owned as a child. Your mother was due to arrive the following day, and you knew she would be spoiling her 3rd grandchild rotten and you too when she arrived. She loved Satoru, and he loved her, so she was going to stay with you both for a week to help you both ease into the life of new parents, and Satoru couldn’t have squeezed and hugged her tighter when she offered.
After another half an hour, Satoru notices you yawning, with Akio asleep in his arms.
“Okay momma is tired everyone it is time to leave now! You can all come back and fawn over how cute my mini me is some other time.”
After everyone wishes you goodbye and a final kiss on the head for Megumi, who you send back to his dorm with a quiet thank you again for the book, you, Satoru and Akio are left in the peaceful room surrounded by keepsakes and your peonies now on the table beside the bed.
You scoot over to let Satoru into the bed beside you, and he places Akio in the crib beside you both. He squirms under the blanket, careful to be very gentle with you, knowing you’re still tender and aching. He wraps an arm gingerly across your stomach and presses soft kisses into your hairline, you tilt your head up and kiss his soft perfect lips.
“He’s really here, our little boy.”
“Thank you, Y/N. You’re so incredible, I’m in awe of you, I never thought I could love anything as much as I love you and the kids.. Thank you for giving me a family.” He says, pointing to the handmade book beside you both.
“Thank you for making it possible, you deserve the world, ‘Toru.”
And with that, you both curl up, drifting off in each others arms listening to the soft breaths of the baby beside you.

Gojo Satoru and Iori Utahime/ contrast
This is not particularly a ship post, I don’t mind the ship either. (I just want to analyze them outside of romance). It's just that I was rereading Jujutsu Kaisen manga and had some drafts of characters that struck out to me, Utahime being one of them, Goodwill event reread made me appreciate so many characters even more, because this is the arc where all students and their stories are fleshed out. These characters really develop from what we have seen till now in the manga.
Utahime stood out me as a character the moment she was introduced during the first read itself (and no, it was not her scar), this time around I decided to investigate her character more, if it was any other series I probably wouldn’t have, but it’s Gege Akutami, his minor characters are written beautifully with unique roles.
As I mentioned before, she stood out, because we literally didn’t know any other teacher except Gojo in the story, the first teacher to be introduced in the story after Gojo was her. That was a matter of natural curiosity.
Tumblr media
From her reactions to Gojo clearly showed she was not his fan. That was like pretty standard reaction to Gojo in vicinity, pretty much what we saw from other characters initial intro as well, Megumi finds him idiotic, Nanami doesn’t respect him, Gakuganji hates him, Shoko is apathetic, Ichiji is scared of him and called him lazy (Gege really made sure to tell the readers how annoying Gojo is lol). But since she was a fellow teacher, I wanted to know whether she aligns with Gojo or like Gakuganji, she is with the Higher ups or much like Shoko, doesn’t care about politics all together. Her shrine maiden outfit was interesting as well (it’s like Kikyo/Kagome from Inuyasha), so it was a wonder what her powers would be like.
Tumblr media
Utahime, from her posture and speech pattens appears to be a very elegant woman. Her worry regarding Miwa, prioritizing safety of the students, being genuinely happy that they are safe, gave us the conclusion that she is a very responsible and good teacher to her students. Her alignment with Gojo was quickly answered as well since Gojo trusted her enough with a very important task and information. Gankuganji didn’t include her when he gave the task to Kyoto students to kill Itadori, I believe it was because either she wouldn’t agree to it, or convince her students not to follow him.
Her interactions with Gojo also stood out, since there are many characters who don’t respect Gojo but trust him, she is one of them. However, no one really went “out of character” like her and threw a cup of tea at him. Nanami thinks work is shit in general, he has same kind of distaste for Gojo that he had for his boss, Shoko doesn’t overtly react to anything, Ichiji generally has low self-esteem. All these characters don’t break out of their usual character patterns for Gojo, there reaction to his idiocracy is “in character”. Whereas Utahime, whom we have seen mostly as a responsible teacher and calm headed individual with quick thinking, breaks from her usual character with Gojo. Her dislike of Gojo is very genuine. I think that for a no-nonsense individual person like Utahime, she doesn’t take Gojo’s jokes well. For Gojo, its his usual jokes/remarks but for Utahime its him not respecting her. I mean one thing though, at least, Utahime doesn’t look for validation from anyone, she just demands respect as fellow sorcerer and senior, canonically she is not insecure, she doesn’t even hide her scar with mask or makeup shows how unbothered she is about it, I like that about her.
From what we know about the Past Arc of Gojo, Utahime is the only confirmed senior of Gojo, Getou, and Shoko. Mei Mei is most likely older than Utahime (mei calls Utahime by her given name, but uta addresses her as ‘Mei-san’, I think she is at least 3-4 years older than Utahime, personally). Kasukabe was not even mentioned in that arc so he is ruled out as well. Utahime is the only one that studied in the same school as them, and that’s why she is pretty close with Shoko. I think it's also the reason Gojo trusts her so much, since he has known her from the days of his youth. Gojo however doesn’t trust Mei Mei, its was quite clear in goodwill arc, but for some reason he does acknowledge Mei, and calls her with honorific ‘mei-san’. Mei is a woman who abuses her brother and uses him as part of her technique, she is apparently more respected by Gojo than a genuinely good human like Utahime. I think it’s because of mentality. (Gojo talks about the mental aspect with Megumi, sorcerers’ mentality plays a big role in their technique). Mei was ready to do anything to become strong (so that she can earn more money lol), I think Gojo respects that, whereas I don’t think Utahime prioritises strength before personal connection, which in Gojo’s eyes is weak and stuns her individual growth as sorcerer in his pov.
From her limited manga panels and Databook information, we can make out a few things.
• She is very smart and doesn’t believe in what is told to her without confirming it. When Gojo pointed out about the possibility of mole, she did not believe him without confirming it, when the attack in the event happened was when she acknowledged Gojo. She doesn’t react without enough information, as shown from the past arc with her mission with Mei Mei. I would conclude that her specialty is her smarts and level-headed thinking.
Tumblr media
• She genuinely cares about the well-being of people around her , as shown with her students and how she wants Shoko to quit smoking. Unlike many jujutsu sorcerers, she is not individualist or selfish. Her kindness is also returned as every single one of her students loves her.
Tumblr media
Is Utahime really weak?
A simple answer would be, NO. From this statement of Gege Akutami alone.
Tumblr media
A sorcerer is expected to kill a curse of the grade they are assigned, so Utahime can solo semi-grade 1 curses all by herself.
Tumblr media
If she had no offense at all, she would probably be grade-less like Shoko/Ichiji. Well, she is not. That means she fights, and she fights well. She has quick reflexes from what we have seen with her encounter with the dude with luck CT.
Tumblr media
Also, she was quick enough to react during the attack from Kenjaku. She is working in Kyoto, the capital of the jujutsu world, and she is directly under the noses of higher-ups. The fact that she is a head teacher in Kyoto is itself intriguing, cause it’s not a position just anyone not worthy enough would have been appointed to. Higherups love traditional techniques, as mentioned by Panda during encounter with Haraki and Kirara.
Tumblr media
I believe Utahime’s technique is one that higher-ups would love. They would not put someone with less knowledge or capability as in charge at all. It’s a big thing. She is not just a mere high school teacher. Her position is the same as Gojo in Kyoto.
Her not being grade one is irrelevant cause from what we know there are quite a number of hurdles, and corruption to be one, the promotions are rigged we already know that, Gojo paid Mei Mei to promote his students (they were capable students but that doesn’t mean he didn’t pay to get them the recommendation) plus she is a woman jujutsu world, that’s also a supposed thing that can hold her. She has survived till date is another proof she can hold herself, haibara died early (both him and nanami were unable to deal with a grade 1 curse back in the day, that’s how fast sorcerers die) She is a full fledge sorcerer. She takes missions and is not entirely out of frontlines either if we go by this panel from 0.5.

Gojo and Utahime contrast each other as individuals.
• Gojo’s relationship with his students is well, decent. He goes out of his way to teach and save strong ones (I can’t imagine him being a good teacher to, say, Momo or Miwa). He sent Inumaki and Panda to get beat up by Geto to piss off Yuta for his powerup, not so great move for a teacher. He recognises their struggles but at the same time doesn’t understand them that well. Save Yuuji and Yuuta, no one really respects him. Whereas Utahime’s students adore and protect her, they band together to solve their problems. They genuinely want the system to change and let their intent know about this during all the vs battels in Goodwill arc. Kyoto kids were really trying Tokyo kids to understand the problems in the system, but all of their common remarks were ‘I don’t care’.
(Well, Gojo sorry to tell you, your students are strong sure, but they don’t have the same goals as you, Utahime’s kids align with your goals more than your own, even though they are not as strong as you would like them to be.)
• Utahime’s CURSED TECHNIQUE was a delight. It can boost anyone within a zone, including herself. How it contrasts with Gojo, you might ask. Gojo is the strongest when he fights alone. Everyone else just drags him down. Whereas Utahime can help even someone like Ichiji cast a powerful barrier. Gojo’s technique literally separates him from the world, but Utahime brings them within her zone.
(I imagine the fellow sorcerers being happy to have Utahime around, since she will make everyone she is fighting with stronger, including herself. She is dragging no one down, and no one is left behind. However, in the case of Gojo, it is explicitly stated that fighting with him means dragging him down. Its almost like people feel weaker with Gojo around, and they get stronger with Utahime around.)
• This brings another contrast, individualism and collectivism. Utahime asks her students to get along, they even fight together, have each other’s back and are even emotionally connected to each other. Gojo tells Megumi that everyone dies alone, he is teaching his students to value individual strengths more.
(I am not saying one is right or wrong because that would be incorrect. The answer lies somewhere in between. Both things are important. Being individually strong will help the kids gain strength to fight others, and working with each other well will help them cover each other’s flaws.)
• Gojo Satoru is an enlightened individual, he has this entire moment where he realises that he is quite literally, factually with no hint of doubt, the strongest man alive. He realises his being after his fight with Toji. Utahime is a miko. A Shrine Maiden is messenger of kami, and were considered shamens back in Nara and Heian Periods of Japan in real life. Both of them are associated with God and something larger than life.
(It is not explicitly stated that Utahime is a Miko, but no one wears miko outfit for fun, it has meaning and history associated with it. Her outfit, the ceremonial Kagura, the usage of bells, gives us a confirmation that she is a miko ig.)
• Their connections with people are also something to look at. I can say for sure Shoko is canonically closer to Utahime than Gojo. She got so worried Utahime didn’t call for two days, Utahime sends her parcels to Shoko, she stopped smoking cause Utahime insisted. Whereas, she didn’t notice Geto going through his downfall, even if she did, she didn’t comment on this. She always stays away from Gojo drama. Utahime is genuinely more loved and is closer to people. Gojo is well, he is alone and lonely above everyone else.
(Again, not to say Gojo and Shoko are not close, Shoko is also one of the people Gojo trusts, but she is closer to Utahime. Gojo’s one of the character traits is the isolation he faces. That’s why the recent Gojo vs. Sukuna fight is not just about Sukuna filling his isolation. It’s also Gojo who finally found his truest equal.)
Utahime is everything Gojo is not and vice-versa. Gojo can do a lot of things others can, even use RCT, but if there is one thing that he absolutely can’t do, is what Utahime can(making others stronger). She can't do things Gojo can either. One can not call Utahime weak, just because she can’t do what Gojo can cause Gojo can’t do what Utahime can either.
Tumblr media
The problem with these two is that, even though they have aligned goals, shared values, same path, and a lot of trust in each other. They DON'T respect each other. Utahime doesn’t respect Gojo, neither does Gojo respect Utahime. On paper/ in theory, their team is great if they work together. They complement each other, but Gojo is still stuck in his own head about his isolation. Granted, Utahime can not provide him the satisfaction of equal fight and equal strength, but why does she need to? She can help Gojo achieve goals alongside him with HER skillset. Watching Gojo and Utahime working together was a delight. The 200% hollow purple technique was amazing. But I wish we could have seen them as partners in work.
Overall, I wish more interactions of Utahime with her students if we can get any. Other than that, I am not expecting Utahime to appear again. But if she does, I hope Gege covers her teacher aspect and her investigator aspect more.
Again, be respectful people. I am a jjk fan, and I sometimes like to write analysis. I like to stay far, far away from discourse, so please don't do that here.
