i remember back when i was 13 i cut my hair short just to look like kairi from kh1 and i really liked it, then i kept cutting it short mostly for cosplay purposes and once someone misgendered me and it felt SO.GOOD.

i remember lots of times where i thought "i wish i werent born a girl" and that sort of stuff. and then i stopped thinking about it for a long time (because i got in a toxic relationship with a guy who believed in very strict gender roles)

and then when i felt free to be myself i started thinking about it again and i remembered how much i loved having short hair, so i thought about cutting it again and when i did it felt so nice!

and i realized i enjoy wearing clothes without assigning a gender to them, just whatever felt right for the moment, so i started experimenting a bit, and now im closer to finding what i actually like for the first time in my life!

i realized that im probably not quite trans because i dont wish to be any other gender and most of my dysphoria comes from how im percieved rather than my own body, and i found out that im probably non binary, or genderfluid, and it finally seems like it fits!

and with that identity in mind i not only feel more comfortable trying on mens pants and baggier clothes and stuff like that, i also feel more comfortable wearing more femenine things like crop tops and shorts and maybe even tight shirts! and thats because i finally feel like i have found myself, outside of the gender stereotypes that have been enforced onto me since i can remember, outside of what is expected of me. i am who i am regardless of what others see in me or what they expect me to be, my face, my voice, my body, my genitalia, none of that matters. the only thing that truly matters is me and my own identity.

I see a lot of ‘cis’ women say they wish they were androgynous in the way men were or they wish they were pretty in the way men were. This is your sign to go try to do that. You may find you enjoy being an androgynous woman. You may find you no longer identify as a woman. You may find you don’t like androgyny. You will not know until you try. Cut your hair if you’ve always wanted to but have been afraid to. Shop in the men’s section if you’ve been too nervous to. Wear clothing with an androgynous  silhouette. Experiment with binding, take baby steps with compression bras if you want. Wear unisex scents. Live life. Try things you want to try. A lot of cis women do not understand the joys of mens pants and mens deodorant. I think everyone should try both of those things.

2. as a guy who recently grew out a mustache, owns a couple pairs of Magnum PI shorts, and is tall enough that a lot of shirts just look slightly cropped, thanks for the post. Very affirming of my decisions to lean into this despite maybe being too 30 years old for a slut aesthetic

Random question, have you made any general posts about overall experience being a firefighter? I have a business degree, but never really made much happen with it, and with the way things are going, white collar work might be getting a lot more fraught in the next few years. hair i think much like mustaches, it’s all about confidence baby. if the hair is thick and wavy and beautiful, i love that. i don’t think a hairline automatically makes you look creepy :( i generally think hair looks better than shaved PERSONALLY speaking, because i like hair, but i think ultimately people are hottest when they are feeling themselves. and so whatever makes you feel yourself yknow

and yay! i also am a career switcher from office work and know others who did too. i know one guy who was a teacher before!! and one person who was a massage therapist? and a bunch of other stuff, people come to it from all sorts of different places, it’s not just the straight out of high school lifers. i think the biggest piece of advice though is get comfortable with being uncomfortable. like you will start at the bottom of the food chain and will probably at some point have some 23 yr old above you who has a few years on the job and is allowed to boss you around 😭 and you just kind of have to take it, at least at first. but it’s fun!!!!! it’s so fun.

this had a thought process actually. Kinda saf spoilers below for those who care I just wanna ramble

So obviously any time I’m interested in anything I must make it about beyblade somehow and I was doing some thinking. My first thought was that zeo is EXTREMELY owen coded but it would work best with masamune as curt and i simply do not ship masamune and zeo. Toby as curt wouldn’t work because i could not bring myself to make a zeotoby that are THAT doomed and also there is no feasible existence where zeo abyss could ever even remotely hate toby at all. Another thought I had was that kosuke is also extremely owen coded but kosukyo have the opposite problem where the curtwen dynamic has to start with genuine trust and care for each other and kosukyo are far too toxic for that, even when they are slightly normal about each other. Thus, we have selessi as curtwen, because they strike the perfect balance between having an initially sweet relationship that very easily goes to shit and has SO many hard feelings from both sides afterwards <3

I was also thinking abt who the hell could be anyone else in the saf cast. I think character and personality wise, Hikaru is the obvious choice for Tati, but for the Doing This potential with an Essi as curt, it would probably be Gingka or Hyoma (it still doesn’t really work that well since Essi is bi but oh well)

I thought abt Madoka as Cynthia and I don’t think she could ever be that mean to Essi specifically but she could definitely pull off Cynthia otherwise.

I have no clue for any of the others, though I will say that chimera is very dna/shogun steel garcias and doji coded so I like how that works out with selen as owen

i really don't understand why the women's version of any clothing ALWAYS has to show more skin and be as form fitting as possible. Like even with more "modest" (for lack of better word) clothing that aren't too over-sexualized, you could still see a difference in men's and women's uniforms that are completely unnecessary. And the thing is that perhaps people have gotten so desensitized to the most ridiculous objectifying clothing that women are subjected to that anything less than pornified is praised as a "Win" or nothing to complain about. An example of this is how women's shorts for any type of occasion/use whether is for sports, sleepwear, or casual wear are always super short by default and it's frustrating.

Like as a women who dislikes wearing very restrictive clothing for various reasons it's annoying how there's this general consensus that women don't mind wearing clothing that's primary function (in comparisons to men's clothing) seems to prioritize showing of my "feminine figure" or how ~nice my legs look~ rather then comfort. And i know many women would defend this but I can't think of a reason why women's and men's clothing have to be (for the most part) different in functionality other than the normalization the mentality that women = body that needs to be shown off.
