I also just learned that Wild Wild Life by Talking Heads was briefly mentioned in the Inspector Gadget movie (as I previously mentioned, was a hyperfixation of mine in the days of yor).

But I didn’t become a fan of the band until late high school early college. Now Talking Heads is one of my favorite bands ever.

Time to be Earnest on Main here about theatre. If you’ve listened to our show you know we love theatre. We make fun of it frequently, too, but we like to think that our brand of making fun of it can only be done by people who really, truly love it. If you buy into theatre, into the artifice of it all, the silliness, if you throw yourself into it like James and Hampton and Madge and Fitzy and so many of our other characters do, if you move through it with dedication and passion, you can find truth in it. The idea that through disguise, through artifice, you can find the truth of yourself is at the core of everything we make.

It’s hard being an artist. It’s hard being anything right now, the world as it is, capitalism being what it is. But art gets thrown on the backburner as trivial and unnecessary when for so many of us it is our life.

Full disclosure, our creators and several of our actors had work this summer at a wonderful theatre we’ve worked at for years, the Michigan Shakespeare Festival. We met most of our cast there or on their affiliated tours, doing shows together. We met the Holmes that so many of you love out there, who became the friend who officiated our wedding last month. The actors who play Hampton, James, Archie, Fitzy, Thomas, Dennis, Braddock, Desmond, Oskar, McMurphy, and so many more on our other shows appeared on that stage. We wrote shows out there, we workshopped with actors from the festival, we were encouraged by the mentors out there to make our shows real. We edited season 1 of F&S together between shows. We have MSF to thank for so much in our personal, professional, and creative lives.

This week, the day before the start of the season, the board voted to dissolve the season because funding fell through. Donors are scared, this administration is pulling funding in a massive way, and all revenue streams are drying up. This is not new. Every artist we know in every part of the industry has seen it coming for a very long time. It’s devastating, it’s demoralizing, it is paralyzing. To lose any cultural institution, especially one that gives artists their livelihoods, their healthcare, their stability, and the means of meeting and collaborating and building something new, is a tragedy. We are in mourning.

This is not a post to ask for anything. We know none of you can change anything and you all would change it if you could. But if you're looking for something to do this summer that's a little different, consider seeing a play. Consider seeing a play that isn't on Broadway or a huge national tour. See community theatre, storefront, children's theatre, free theatre, high school theatre, theatre in the park, college theatre, local pay-what-you-can-in-a-basement theatre, Zoom readings, those things on Instagram where people gather in a living room to read the script of Shrek together, (god forbid) improv theatre! Any of it, to even the smallest degree.

We need communal spaces and shared experiences, we need moments of finding truth in artifice together. Theatre will live, we know it will. It always has. But it just got a little smaller for now, for the people who create it.

There were a lot more "annoyances" in other worlds too. And your "no" made them try harder.

It started to get on your nerves. No one could take your "no" for an answer.

But you came from the age of memes and the Internet. So, you agreed to have a few meetings with them, sharing some information and documents.

Totally, you spent almost seventeen hours sharing "information" with the "annoyances" from different worlds.

What was the information you shared?

The full FNAF lore, including games, books and movie.

What were the documents?

Scripts of Bee Movie and Shrek films.

The next few days, all the "annoyances" looked stupid. They were seriously quoting everything you fed them during the meeting.

They do realize that they were making fools of themselves, unfortunately. But you stopped getting letters from them.

You hoped that just for some time you would be left alone.

But now Silver Wolf and Aether are grumpy. They wanted to hear FNAF lore from you. And get their Bee Movie and Shrek films scripts from you.

all realities in which i am a k-pop idol—besides my zb1 drs. this includes own group drs, soloist drs, and drs where i am a member of a pre-existing cr group. admittedly, i cut down a lot of my k-pop drs recently. there are chances i bring back some of my old drs, but as i'm focused on other things, i don't want to stress too much about keeping track of all of them.
