Warrior cats OT3 rare-pair: Squirrelflight x Whitewing x Shrewsky(paw)

Whitewing is both Squirrel and Shrew's first cousin once added, but none of them mind. It just makes them feel even closer. Shrew is really protective of his mates. He's heard the things cats have said about his parents behind their backs about them being uncle and niece, yet being mates and having kits together. So he's really quick to shut down anyone who says even one rude thing about his mates.

Normally I'm artist and love to draw, but seeing how vicious the internet is, I was never really sure about drawing any of my favorite comships in case people link my side account with my main. So I gave my hand at trying to dramatically change my style and see how it turns out. I think I like it, but I'm not entirely sure. Though that's only because it's so different from how I usually draw, that it's throwing me off. I definitely want to try it again some time.

nursery morning

Willowstone yawns, wondering what she should do with her day. Her kitting was coming soon — any day, if Dandelionpool and Barkface were to be believed — and she could feel the exhaustion of it sharply. Most mornings revolved of her slowly easing out of her nest, then beginning her day.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Spending her days slowly has allowed her to bond with her younger siblings, and while Shrewsky’s worry is frustrating, it’s also sweet.

And justified.

“How are you feeling?” Ashfoot asks, her eyes dark with concern.

“Normal.” Willowstone sits up, licking her chest a few times. “Just tired.” This will probably be her only litter: even though Barkface says there’s likely nothing to worry about, she doesn’t need to feel like this again.

“The apprentices are bringing prey by soon,” Rabbitsight says. She’s moved into the nursery earlier than is strictly necessary, but she’s an experienced queen, and it never hurts to have another set of eyes on kits. “If you’re hungry now, though, I can bring you something.”

“That’s alright, but thanks.” She yawns. “I can wait.”

In Ashfoot’s nest, the kits begin to wake, their tiny heads poking out of her limbs. All of their eyes are staying blue, seemingly inheriting the family trait. “When are your kits coming?” Juniperkit asks.

“Soon.” They’ve repeated this every morning, because Juniperkit is desperate for more playmates, so they can organize more exciting battles. Or something. “If you’re so impatient, why don’t you find Shrewsky for me?”

Eager for a task, she chirps, scrambling out of the nest and sprinting out of the nursery.

Willowstone purrs. It won’t be long before her kits are doing the same.

hollypaw and lionpaw are apprenticed to sorreltail and tawnypelt. yeah she's still here.

ferncloud has foxkit and icekit, but foxkit dies in an early sickness.

brightshore, caribouflower, juniperbird, nightcloud, and watchfur become warriors. deadstar feels better about the oncoming demographics disaster.

whitetail retires due to fatigue.

needlekit and sunkit die.

ashfoot has another litter: firkit (brown she-cat), gorsekit, juniperkit (pale she-cat with black points and blue eyes), and sprucekit (pale brown tom with white mitts and blue eyes.)

rabbitsight also has four kits: cypresskit (pale brown she-cat with black and red points and blue eyes), echokit (tom with grey patches and a banded tail), halokit (white she-cat with blue ears and blue eyes), and weaselkit.

willowstone has one kit, owlkit, fathered by shrewsky. unfortunately, on an excursion out of camp after his birth, she falls in the gorge and dies.
