our first (real official) date was to a cute little café he likes for breakfast ♡ he had ended up spending the night, and it was just something we decided on together in the morning because we were both hungry — it didn't even register to me that it was a date at first until he referred to it that way and i got hit with the realization of oh, that is what this is, huh? it was really simple and casual, but that's what made it so special — it was something different for the both of us. i cherish it a lot ♡

(in retrospect, though, he doesn't feel like it was a "good enough" first date no matter how many times i say otherwise. so he "made up for it" by taking me on a "proper" one after we finally started dating lol.)

our pining phase was... kind of a mess, honestly lmao. it was one of those situations where it was extremely incredibly obvious that we had feelings for each other (going on dates? acting increasingly affectionate and domestic together? hello?) but neither of us could actually say it. we were both too scared to — me because i didn't think he felt the same way and didn't want to lose him; him because he'd never felt that way about anyone at all and the thought of being rejected terrified him — so we both just sort of... danced around it. acted like a couple, but continued to be "not a couple" until one of us was finally able to say it.

and, ultimately, he was the one that confessed first — and of course i accepted him and his feelings in full ♡
