Hello everyone and happy Friday to you all! Hope you’ve had a good week. Today I had my stitches out and apart from feeling a little FrankenBeth, things are healing well. It’s book haul time! Chinatown is from my @tiltedaxisbooks subscription which gives me five of their newly released books over the year. As I love translated fiction, it was a no brainer! It’s a tale of exile, displacement and discrimination and their impact on a life of a Vietnamese woman. Another quest is to complete all the Outlander novels. Voyager is the third in the series and I’m halfway through the second at the moment. It follows an English woman called Claire in the 1940’s who time-travels back to the Highlands of Scotland in the 18th century. Finally, I’ve already read Sunset as a buddy read with a group of lovely bookstagrammers. It wasn’t what I expected and I’m still thinking about it. It’s about the sibling relationship between Ruth and Hannah and how this is affected when something terrible happens. Review to follow! My Boys My Adventure "Arka belum ngantuk mamah, Arka mau main" Jawab Arka dari ajakan untuk tidur malam itu. "Arka pengen main apa? gimana kalau bobo aja? ini udah jam setengah 11 malem lho? Adek Kemal juga udah bobo tuh? " Rayuku. "Nggak mau" Arka menolak ajakanku. "Maunya apa? baca buku raja mumu atau dinosaurus? main kertas batu gunting?" Aku masih coba menganalisis apa keinginannya. "Kakak mau main dung-dung pake rebana" Jawab Arka. "Arka seneng main dung-dung ya? tapi ini udah malem kakak, nanti mbak Aura di rumah sebelah bangun, adek Kemal juga nanti bangun" Aku tetap merayunya. Arka ini tipe anak yang kuat melek, meski seharian sudah main. Secara teorinya memang anak laki-laki harus dihabiskan energinya dulu sebelum benar-benar mau tidur. Beda banget dengan mamahnya yang jam sembilan malam udah nggak bisa melek. Meski jam 11 kembali melek dan mengerjakan berbagai pekerjaan rumah karena jika semua dikerjakan pagi, tidak nyukup waktunya. Akhirnya aku yang merasa sangat perlu punya ide bermain yang berbau fisik untuk anak laku-laki mencari di internet. Ternyata banyak kok variasinya, misal petak umpet, layangan, congklak, lompat tali, gasing, enggrang, ular naga, kelereng, banteng, balapan, tembak-tembakan dan masih banyak yang lainnya. Lantas bagaimana dengan kegiatan membacakan bukunya? Beberapa waktu belakang ini hanya pada waktu mau tidur, saat dia sudah bisa tenang dan diam untuk mendengarkan. Meskipun 15-20 menit saja insyaallah akan ada pengaruhnya. Sempat insecure sama temen yang sarapan aja bisa sambil baca buku, bangun tidur yang di cari anak adalah buku, bisa anteng baca. Sedangkan anakku pada fase ingin tetap bergerak ke luar rumah. Rasanya nggak mungkin kalau main bola, main air sambil bacain buku. Temenku mengira kalau aku jualan buku, anakku sepanjang hari baca buku. Realitanya tidak, anakku sama seperti yang lain, yang masih pegang hape, yang masih belepotan main pasir, yang kalau ada hujan mau kabur keluar, yang rebutan sepeda sama tetangga, yang suka jajan cimin di belakang rumah.
