What's the difference? Physical Distancing, Isolation and Quarantine

What is Physical Distancing？

Social distancing should be practiced by everyone, whether or not exposed to the virus.

This broad set of measures includes avoiding hand shakes, crowds, staying at least 2 meters (6 feet) away from people, and, most importantly, staying at home if you feel sick.

What is Isolation?

A diagnosis of Covid-19 triggers isolation. Isolation is for those who are already sick and serves to keep the infected away from healthy people in order to stop the spread of the virus.

What is Quarantine?

Quarantines are put on groups and communities to separate and restrict the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick.

February 26th 2012, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It’s my anniversary. I forgot this year, I remembered because @thesparkledlife mentioned in her IG stories her anniversary is coming up. My faith keeps that smile on my face. This picture is a collage of 2012 treatments and a hospital stay. Do you have a advance directive or living will? It gives someone permission to make your medical decisions if you're unable. With autoimmune encephalitis and many other chronic illnesses sadly we need to think of these things. Maybe a flare has changed your cognitive function, maybe you're having dementia symptoms, or even in a coma. First note in mine: If I'm on life support, try unplugging me, count to 10 and plug me back in. I have an appointment with a new G.I doctor today. Eek! To prepare I make sure to have all their paperwork filled out beforehand. I try to have copies of my meds, and any test results pertaining to the appointment. Most hospitals have an app or website and it saves so much time to make sure your info is up to date and to check in online beforehand. I also keep a list of questions I'd like to ask my Dr and a running list of symptoms on a note app on my phone.
