Story Summary:

The Wolf Pack, a research organization secretly focused on studying werewolves done by werewolves, has found itself in a state of financial distress. They reluctantly take a research proposition from a government agent, Silas Torsen, and find themselves in over their head. When everything goes wrong, can they bring things back together, or will the pack fall apart?

Chapter Summary:

Desmond attempts to lead the military away and ends up in a bad situation. He contemplates his life and is given an offer that actually seems like a good idea.

This is part of the MCU/Tin Can Bros/Shipwrecked crossover series. This story is fully written, and this is the final chapter. The next story is going to be about the origins of Hawkeye and Black Widow, with Scrags from Solve-It Squad being Hawkeye and Tatiana from Spies are Forever being Black Widow.

connor creekians and their hatchetfield saga best friends

- agnes & charlotte knit and talk cats together in rocking chairs :) they also kiss

- aubrey & bill go out occasionally, sometimes to the library just to sit quietly and read together. they hang out with ags and char pretty frequently as well

- jewel & ethan started out at odds with each other, but eventually grew on each other and became attached at the hip

- donny & deb are both in art club and sometimes alice tags along when they go places

- silas & sam watch sports and do straight guy things

- rita & emma discuss botany... and so on

- mary jo & ellis & linda just coexist perfectly and talk shit about everyone they possibly can

- sybilus & paul & paul are all friends because paul matthews and sybilus really hit it off and then paul schue-horyn just had to get in on the paul action too!

- madison & becky feels self explanatory but i think they would absolutely go for walks in the park together

- desmond & tom are completely oblivious to the fact that they look alike

- truman & frank are besties but out of spite

- prism & hannah met by chance and hannah just became immediately attached and prism loves her like a mother

- artemis & miss holloway. enough said

- cliff & rocky & tony love their kids a whole bunch so they wanted to meet their kid’s best friend’s parents but then also very much enjoyed their company anyway!

- ryan & jane because they’re both very passionate about doing the right thing

- vern & mr. davidson are both into some very weird shit

- olivia & riley & melissa run a lesbians rise club

- quinn & jonathan because they’re both very proper and particular about what they like and don’t like

- jeremiah & lucy because she’s actually willing to listen to him and he, in turn, is more than willing to listen to her

- odie doty & crispin & gary have identical yet opposite energies which works perfectly in friendship

- dr. henry & duke make sure that the other works enough but not too much

- helen & doug are both law enforcement officers that have a better sense of justice than their peers

- barney & hidgens because they would both just talk at each other nonstop except to listen to the other

- wallis & gps & gerald are always forgotten so they just hang out together

bonus: the mayor & peanuts because diane and jonathan are just that iconic

i’m marathoning all of wayward guide with my brother (as a rewatch), i’m sure i’ll have more ~thoughts~ so here they are:

i love the quirky nbc sitcom feel of the show, almost reminds me of the good place or parks and rec

i forgot how suspicious desmond’s first scene makes him seem lol

ah yes the attempted podcast explanation

goes without saying, but i will anyway: lauren lopez is HYSTERICAL as ags and her color coordinated suits are iconic

the raw meat free sample bit makes a LOT more sense knowing olivia and vern are both werewolves

“got my paws on some precious postage” so many little things are funnier when you know who is/isn’t a werewolf (in this case odie dodie)

“you shouldn’t have seen that... BECAUSE IT’S ALL A LOAD OF HOOEY”

“folklore is a part of any culture” i interrupt this wayward guide watch to get some taylor swift stuck in my head

the irons are amazing. the height of comedy.

paul and sybilus meeting is the purest thing ever

immediately followed by silas being THE WORST

also i’ve never seen titus makin jr in anything before this, but he’s great! like the character is awful but the fact that everyone despises him just proves how good he is

sybilus getting so flustered when paul asks about the werewolves

MAYOR DIANE

madison during truman’s speech is sooo relatable, we’ve all had to listen to somebody we don’t like and felt exactly that

paul’s whole werewolf dream is so creepy i love it

desmond flipping silas off, madison telling him off, and her and artemis throwing the drinks in his face are all so satisfying

so when artemis sees the wolves “connor” is asking the other wolves which one is the killer and they reply that they’re being set up, desmond continues to be the town dad especially to the wolves

also the wolf we now know is desmond says he’ll keep an eye on artemis and later that same episode he starts their whole conversation about miner mole

so i’m still confused if desmond is immortal or if he means his family has been in connor creek for a while

the famous “tiny sentence journal”

also i think that scene is one of my favorites from the show, desmond is tied for my favorite character (with madison) and obviously dylan saunders is an incredible actor and plays him so well

i really love that there are no extras in the show, each background character still has a personality, i think it’s really fun and builds the kooky town feeling

truman as a character is written and played so well, she’s just shady enough that you never trust her, but has a few moments (namely her big speech when she gives madison the task force) where you really want to

“all the connor wolves are accounted for” so are the rest of the wolves connor wolves or just desmond? i’m confused

“oh well if she had an appointment” the irons continue to be just great

“THE HOOEY WAS TRUEY” iconic

ags ordering takeout in the middle of a werewolf attack is a mood

honestly truman ripping out silas’s heart and reaching to shake artemis’s hand is such an awesome villain reveal

i love that there’s one episode that’s 90% fight scene and none in any other episode lol

it’s so cool how truman is so composed and as soon as we find out she’s a wolf and the jig is up she becomes completely unhinged

paul trying to wolf out is so pure

desmond calling artemis “artie” is adorable i love their friendship

paul just very loudly saying werewolf every three seconds then him and vern howling

“nope bye” quinn is great

so what is paul doing just being a werewolf in LA? especially without the silver to control the transformation

really this whole show is so incredible and every actor is so talented!!! i would love another season, but i also love the ending!!!!

“I think you’ll do it because you’re afraid of everyone else thinking you’re crazy.”

Finally hearing those words out loud was a slap in the face. Artemis wasn’t going to ruin years of hard work, climbing and dangling over sharks for this. She didn’t put up with years of taunting and humiliation by her old classmates for this. She didn’t want to be hurt again by this.

It’s not like she was actually crazy. She wasn’t. She was the one who planned this whole fucking thing out, she was the whole who suggested they stayed, she was the one who truly found out werewolves were real, right?

But it was Paul who suggested it, and she was so blinded that she didn’t even consider it. Or maybe it was a different reason. Perhaps she thought Paul was crazy, and didn’t want people to believe the same of her. Why would they? she was clearly in the right. Until she wasn’t. 

There she was, accusing a somewhat innocent man of murdering several people for his own gain.

Maybe he was right.

SPOILERS for wayward guide episode 8!!

for some reason i thought truman was going to take a bite of the heart and considering it was 1 am, i was in a completely dark room, it was almost completely silent but i had a neighbor that would randomly start screaming and she was doing so at the time... i was scared omfg

anyway THAT EPISODE WAS SO GOOD i can't believe it's almost over and if the irons family is actually dead i will riot

Chapter 25 is about Olivia and Riley’s friendship, Chapter 26 is about Silas Torsen and his time in Connor Creek, and Chapter 27 is about the townsfolk taking a joke a little too far (aka electing a dog as their mayor).
