Before digital, I shot film for decades, using a 4x5 view camera. History repeats itself now and again; I've modified this sheet film holder to accept 4x5 tintype plates. We will be offing Tintype portraits in the studio soon. A tintype is a photograph created on metal that develops right before your eyes with a historic charm. The process started back in the 1850s (wet plate). In 100 years from now someone else will most likely own this plate. It's interesting to think that they will know that the actual image was created and present at the location depicted on the plate. That's what so neat about the wet plate process. For example if you were able to hold an original plate of Abraham Lincoln you would know that it was in the same room with him at the exact time and place where it was created. #Ambrotype #27x36 #wetplate #silverandlight @will_eichelberger @lvance2010
