Madame Zoe

No-one knows exactly how old she is, or how long she’s lived in the Selvadoradian jungle or where she used to live before that. But everyone knows about Madame Zoe’s voodoo dolls.

Madame Zoe spent many years in the Selvadoradian jungle, learning all about the Omisca and their illustrious and powerful relics. She may well have spent even more time trying to find all of them - in gold, no less. Once she had discovered all of the jungle’s secrets (possibly even the secret to eternal youth!), she packed up her treasures and made her way to Willow Creek. There she set up a small shop selling herbal potions and, you’ve guessed it, unbound voodoo dolls.

This didn’t last too long as the whole of Willow Creek became dysfunctional due to voodoo incited ailments. The authorities intervened, closed Madame Zoe’s shop and sent her to a so-called “secure” institution - also known as the Saberhagen Sanatorium.

Of course, Madame Zoe foresaw what would happen and made sure here most prized possessions were safe when her shop was closed. She took them with her to the Sanatorium and stores them in a small dark room. Madame Zoe still loves to stir her cauldron and cook up strange smelling concontions or tell scary tales about spiders, plasma bats and curses. And there isn’t a single person (or animal) that hasn’t been affected by her voodoo practice. But it’s considered best just to let her - as long as she causes no real harm. The relics are a different matter - it has been strictly forbidden to use them, but somehow, every once in a while the entire building is infested with walking skeletons. Which is condoned as long as they do the cleaning.

9 Mysims Facts I Learned Today:

1. While some implied Mysim nationalities are obvious (Chef Gino being Italian, Travis being British, Aran being either Thai or Chinese), Madame Zoe is implied to be Cajun, as she sprinkles French words throughout her dialogue and is canonically from Louisiana (somehow)

2. There are at least 9 Mysims implied to be Japanese, either by clothing choice, name, or facial features: Chef Watanabe, his son Jimmy, his niece Sachiko, Yuki, Samurai Bob, Star and Kage, Chancellor Ikara, and Makoto (in her human form)

3. Some sims were made to have parallels to each other using game mechanics, one example being Violet Nightshade (Spooky) and her sister Poppy (Cute) hating each others' favorite interests but sharing a secondary Fun interest (meaning they can still get along in-game). The same happens with Shirley (Tasty) and her twin sister Nicole Vogue (Studious) sharing the Cute interest

4. Dolly Dearheart is canonically a fursuit designer (she makes all of Hopper's frog suits)

5. There are a handful of Mysims with implied or confirmed ages:

Poppy is (likely) Violet's younger sister, and both are older than Evelyn Gray

Pinky, Summer, Chaz, Liberty, Travis, Luis, Jenny, Candy, Sapphire, and Zack are all shown/implied to be in high school

Renée isn't old enough to attend high school yet

Robo Makoto is currently attending high school, so is mentally in her teens

Vic Vector is "around 30"

Zombie Carl has been dead for anywhere between twelve to several hundred years, depending on the game

Vincent Skullfinder is older than 50 due to his 50-year contribution streak to archeology

Wendalyn is likely at least 100 years old due to her youth potions extending youth by 100 years

6. Chef Watanabe's son, Jimmy, is programmed to regularly stop by and eat at his dad's sushi bar despite canonically having a severe seafood allergy

7. Multiple characters break the fourth wall, either by referencing their actions as "like a video game" or recognizing the parallel universes of the various Mysims games

8. Dr. F regularly tortures T.O.B.O.R. both physically and mentally to see if robots can have nightmares, on top of constantly setting him to self destruct (F also programmed in a fear of kelp and squirrels just cause)

9. Leaf has high cholesterol despite living on a magical unicorn paradise island because he sneaks off to eat fried foods and Petal hates it

While everyone is off enjoying Animal Crossing, I decided to take the time and return to a childhood favorite game of mine: MySims! I actually played the MySims games before I started playing Sims 2 and, needless to say, it’s a wildly different game.It’s sort of like Animal Crossing mixed with Minecraft since you have to block-by-block construct every craft in the game. I really love it though (despite some of it’s weird Wii-to-PC controls). 

I just adore a lot of things about this game. I love the aesthetics, especially anything to do with the spooky interest. All of the spooky sims are iconic like Violet, Ray, Raven, Madame Zoe and, of course, Goth Boy. I also just enjoyed making all of the different objects, especially the ones I made for myself (like my coffin bed), and giving them a spooky flair. 

It was a great experience revisiting the game and I hope you enjoy my screenshots. The more I played, the more references to other sims games I found in it and just being able to catch those things was lots of fun in it of itself.

I also just wanna point out that the fashion in the game is kinda cute and iconic. I wouldn’t mind if a cc creator took a little inspiration from some of the clothes and made it for the Sims 4...

Hei Pessoal,

Vamos falar aqui primeiramente relembrando o fato de que já tem duas partes desse especial lá na @youngjustice17​ para vocês leem. Aqueles que não viram ainda, não percam tempo e passem lá para vocês conhecerem a Zaya.

E sim, é um crossover. Não é um mega crossover nem nada assim. É um encontro de personagens e a introdução de uma nova que no caso é a Zaya Zatara, que eu vou abrir o jogo e falar que eu e a Dhuly criamos essa garota juntos.

Porque eu sabia que a Dhuly adoraria ver o Zane Zatara fazendo uma pequena aparição nessa historia como ela não esconde o favoritismo dela do personagem que eu criei de ninguém. Foi ideia dela, eu olhei e pensei: Olha, parece interessante e bem viável.

Conto – Especial Interdimensional

Casa dos Mistérios - 31 de Janeiro (Outra Dimensão)

Zane teria uma conversa séria com a Azra mais tarde quando tudo aquilo se resolvesse. Primeiramente, ele aparece em sua dimensão procurando por ajuda e sem entrar em detalhes lhe exigiu que fosse até a Casa dos Mistérios. No caso, a versão da casa que se encontrava na dimensão dele.

Começou com Zane aparecendo na frente de todos os colegas de equipe de Azra, aqueles com quem já tinha se encontrado anteriormente e os outros que só tinha ouvido falar. Mas isso não fora o que mais lhe irritou em tudo isto, mas sim o fato de que havia três pessoas que não imaginava encontrar ali. E dois desses pequenos indivíduos eram os seus irmãos dimensionais, sendo que uma deles não fazia ideia de quem era até que se apresentou. Zaya Zatara era o seu nome e era a razão pela qual ele estava ali.

Zane apresentou-se formalmente aos presentes na Casa dos Mistérios naquele momento, após Azra fazer as devidas introduções e explicações de porque ele estava ali. Zane empurrou as demais perguntas que as pessoas poderiam ter a seu respeito para o filho de Madame Xanadu. E em seguida, exigiu um lugar em que pudesse conversar em particular com a sua irmã que acabara de conhecer. Os dois se trancaram em um escritório e foi ali que agora tendo o mínimo de privacidade, que o mago exigiu da garota.

- Comece a falar – disse Zane enquanto a indicava uma das poltronas em frente a lareira e se sentava de frente para ela – Do início, de preferência. E é bom que você não ignore nenhuma informação que seja relevante para eu resolver esse problema.

- Então, você é meu irmão de outra dimensão além dessa? – falou a garota impressionada e parecendo ignorar sua exigência – Não parece ser tão mais velho assim do que eu, mesmo que se vista assim. Quero dizer, você estava trabalhando em algum escritório quando foram te procurar? Oh, ou talvez todos na sua dimensão se vistam assim dessa maneira antiquada.

- Falou a garota que parece vestida para um velório – disse Zane sarcástico – Você não é muito nova para usar esse visual gótico não? – Ele então bufou – Você está fugindo das minhas perguntas, garota.

- Bem, você não chegou a perguntar nada – respondeu ela casualmente dando de ombros – O que você falou pareceu mais uma exigência. Quase uma ameaça, na verdade. Mas eu acho que você só tem pouco tato para lidar com as pessoas mesmo. Então, eu vou te perdoar.

- Tanto faz, só pare de me fazer perder tempo. – disse Zane – Você está aqui e não consegue retornar para a sua dimensão, não é? – Ela assentiu positivamente com a cabeça – Você não deveria tentar feitiços tão complexos assim aos treze anos de idade.

- Eu tenho doze anos na verdade – disse Zaya – Quantos anos você tinha quando começou a viajar entre as dimensões? Não deveria ser assim tão velho. Afinal, você deve ter uns vinte ou vinte e dois anos.

- Que seja – disse Zane – E eu tenho dezoito.

- Sério mesmo? – respondeu Zaya - Sabe, você não precisa mentir a idade para mim. - Zane ignorou aquele comentário da garota e exigiu mais uma vez que ela lhe contasse o que a havia levado até ali. – Eu soube da existência dessa dimensão e quis visitá-la, porque até então a ideia de conhecer outros lugares no multiverso parecia ser impossível. Minha mãe nunca tinha me dito que havia tantas dimensões paralelas a nossa...

- Vai culpar a sua mãe agora? Acredito que ela tivesse um bom motivo para não entrar em detalhes sobre o multiverso para você. – disse Zane seriamente – Provavelmente querendo evitar que você fizesse besteira.

- De toda a maneira, eu pesquisei em vários livros um feitiço que fosse capaz de me trazer para outra dimensão – continuou Zaya – Quando encontrei em um livro, apenas fiz a anotação no meu grimório e tentei memorizá-lo antes de falar em voz alta. Os feitiços deveriam funcionar em todas as dimensões que existem, porque a magia é universal. Não? Apenas uma como um todo.

Zane assentiu frente aquela afirmação, além é claro de escutar um antigo ditado que costumava ouvir sendo dito por membros de sua família como seu avô ou sua mãe. Quando estes lhe ensinavam magia. E sentiu-se momentaneamente nostálgico.

- Então, você testou esse feitiço do nada e sem nenhuma prevenção ou mesmo supervisão de alguém experiente. – disse Zane e ela pareceu momentaneamente envergonhada. – Francamente, é inacreditável que você faça algo desse tipo sem pensar duas vezes...

- Bem, acontece... – disse Zaya dando de ombros - Eu gosto de me arriscar às vezes. Talvez a minha autoconfiança me faça não ter medo e às vezes ser mais imprudente do que as pessoas normais seriam em algumas situações. – Ela brincava um pouco com o seu cabelo - Ah, vamos não olhe para mim dessa maneira, Zane. Você está até parecendo o Henry.

Zane a olhava com desapontamento. Era inacreditável que a sua irmã tinha apenas decidido arriscar tudo e colocar-se em perigo por um simples capricho. Manchando o nome da família daquela maneira, nunca iria cometer um erro desses. Nenhum Zatara no multiverso cometeria um erro assim. Bem, talvez a Zoe. E agora a Zaya.

- O que vamos fazer? – perguntou Zaya depois de vê-lo refletir por alguns momentos em silêncio. E Zane ergueu-se de sua poltrona e começou a andar pelo escritório enquanto parecia reflexivo. Ela não conseguia desvendar em seu olhar o que se passava pela cabeça do mago.

- Sabe, não é um problema fácil de se resolver – respondeu Zane ajoelhando-se de frente para Zaya e colocando as mãos nas dela – Você corria sérios perigos, sendo que uma das razões para viagens dimensionais serem consideradas tão difíceis de serem feitas não é por acaso... O mínimo erro e a pessoa... – Ele fez uma pausa e suspirou pesadamente – Poderia acabar de maneiras diferentes encontrando o seu fim. Se é que você me entende.

- Certo, isso é para me assustar. – disse Zaya.

- Você poderia morrer, sabia? Sua garota sonsa... Como não pode pensar nas pessoas que se importam com você? Na sua mãe? Você não tem consideração por ela? – respondeu Zane apertando as mãos dela com força.

- Eu já vou receber uma grande bronca da minha mãe quando ela notar meu desaparecimento Isso se já não notou... . – disse Zaya enquanto se desvencilhou das mãos do irmão – Eu devo estar a horas fora de casa. Isso é levando as considerações variáveis de tempo e espaço. – ela suspirou frustrada - Que eu desconheço.

- Não fico nem um pouco surpreso – respondeu Zane.

- Não preciso de você me fazendo sentir-me mais culpada do que eu já estou. – retrucou Zaya.

- Mesmo? Está se sentindo culpada? – respondeu Zane sarcasticamente - Mas que bom, parece que não é tão cabeça de vento afinal. Se você lesse todas as advertências e observações que deveriam estar no seu livro... Veria que um portal dimensional pode causar graves consequências. – E ele gesticulou - Não apenas para você como para o ambiente ao seu redor. E eu não vou entrar em detalhes, apenas dizer que você tem muita sorte de apenas estar presa em outra dimensão.

- E você pode me ajudar? – perguntou Zaya.

- Posso e vou – disse Zane – Do contrário, não estaria aqui falando com você. Agora me diga, como é o feitiço que você usou. Quero ouvir a sua pronúncia – ele acenou para ela e a garota repetiu o feitiço. Era obviamente, dito ao contrário só que o mago mudou a sua expressão assim que a garota parou de pronunciá-lo – Tem certeza disso?

- Tenho – respondeu Zaya – Por que?

- Você pode escrever para mim? – falou Zane ainda incrédulo.

- Hum... Posso – respondeu Zaya procurando algo para anotações naquele escritório, foi quando pareceu se lembrar de algo – Oh, espere... – E levantou a manga do vestido para mostrar para o rapaz uma anotação. - Eu já tenho escrito ele aqui. - A garota havia escrito na própria pele com o que o mago reconheceu como sendo caneta com glitter. – Como te falei, eu estava tentando memorizá-lo e acertar a pronúncia.

- Fala sério... – sussurrou Zane depois de ler o feitiço por uma terceira vez – Francamente... Era só o que me faltava. – Ele encarou a garota com preocupação – Não é o mesmo feitiço que eu costumo usar para viagens dimensionais.

- E isso... É ruim? – questionou Zaya incerta.

- Eu não faço ideia de que feitiço é esse – respondeu Zane – Nunca o vi, então até que eu saiba mais a respeito dele não sei se posso ajudá-la. E antes que pergunte, o feitiço que eu uso não iria funcionar. Porque você só pode voltar para sua dimensão ao pronunciar corretamente o feitiço correto.

- Então, o que faremos? – disse Zaya. Ela lhe viu se afastar e caminhar em direção da porta dupla do escritório por onde tinham entrado. Quase podia sentir a sensação de tensão que percorria a aura do irmão. Era preocupação e medo, provavelmente.

- Buscaremos a resposta – disse Zane enquanto começava a ajeitar a gravata e afrouxá-la. Ele claramente estava preocupado, já que não era uma situação com a qual lidava diariamente. Mas afinal, o que é uma tarde tranquila, não é mesmo? Sempre tem que ter algo para tirá-lo de sua paz. – Não aqui, mas em um lugar em que tenho mais familiaridade.

- Onde? – questionou Zaya.

- Na minha dimensão – disse Zane – Vá se despedir dos outros antes de partirmos.

Zoe: Miles e eu nos damos bem com todos eles porque éramos os mascotes da equipe quando mais novos. O pessoal da LJS original levava a gente em missões e todos nos ensinavam coisas super maneiras já naquela idade. 

Miles: Só o Bennett que finge que não ama a gente, mas sabemos que ama sim. 

Hope: Me dou super bem com a Zed e a minha mãe, também já tive papos legais com a Princesa Ametista. 

Evey: O Adam e eu não falamos muito com os membros antigos porque eles não gostavam muito de nós quando chegamos, mas hoje em dia diria que me dou bem com a Zatanna e o Constantine.

I got bored so I decided to draw what the rest of Madame Zoe and Iggy's family would look like. I thought it would be cute if they did like a yearly family photo or something like that. I feel that I used to much black here.  Also, I based Iggy's parents on Bob and Eliza Pancakes from the Sims 4 because it turns out that they have a son named Iggy. Also, due to their rocky relationship, I doubt that they would stay together, so Iggy's parents are divorced here until further notice. I might even ship Iggy's mom with Zoe, since I headcanon Zoe as lesbian. That's why their holding hands.  I don't know. I hope you like it.

List of My Sims characters in Dutch

You may have noticed it, but I really like My Sims. I played it when I was younger: Base game (PC/Wii/DS) Kingdom (Wii/DS), Agents (Wii/DS), Party (DS) and Racing (DS), and I was kind of happy to see some stuff on tumblr. Here’s the thing: except for the base game on PC, I played everything in Dutch, so I decided to make a list of the Dutch names of My Sims characters.

Cause I’m slowly trying to get back into those games? I blame The Sims 4 with their My Sims trophies, and The Sims 4 also has four characters based on My Sims characters: Travis Scott, Liberty Lee, Summer Holiday, and Candy Behr. (Candy also has a sister named Yuki, but EA only confirmed that Candy is the same as DJ Candy).

Please keep in mind that is done from memory. If a Sim is missing then I either forgot about them or their name is the same in Dutch. If you want to know a character’s Dutch name, just send me an ask.

I finally decided on playing before building. This is my test Sim, Janelle. She’s Madame Zoe’s “niece” and “inherited” this fancy-ish little mansion in dear old Willow Creek.

I’m using the lot that shipped with the pack, but since it was rebate day, I decluttered remodeled it a bit. And, somehow the game didn’t register that I wanted to place this as a haunted house, so it just sat there as an uneventful residential lot for a few days until I noticed on rebate day... sigh. I also was too lazy to properly CAS, so I used styled outfits, they’re quite useful for situations like this.

Now that the adventure can finally begin (according to the game I’m an evil controlling mastermind, though anyone who’s played past night one, will have heard the same). I’ll just share some random stuff, because, what’s a queue? And everyone else will be sharing the exact same stuff anyway.
