Restaurant Menu Default Replacement

I was scrolling this morning and saw this post and thought to myself, man the in-game menus are drab 😂 So have a spur of the moment default replacement menu I made today! I am honestly so proud of how this turned out.

I changed all the text to simlish because we love that. Menu items are the actual items sims order, with the actual prices.

Credit goes to pikisuperstar, freepik, pngtree and I wish I remembered where I grabbed the simlish font from.

High School Cafeteria for The Sims 2

These are some items converted from Syboulette High School Cafeteria Set, medium poly. All is decorative but food counter works like an actual counter. Sims can cook on it or in community lots you can put a cash register on it. 10 recolors included (menu painting has 14 recolor, 7 in english and 7 in simlish).

Y’all are being subjected to my Sims 2 tests, so there

The other set of Vargases came over for a visit and Scriabin picked up Shmee and started talking to Scriabin through him. Very normal, very usual

I downloaded some circle-glasses recolours and hghghh they look so good! Closer every day to his final details! Getting ever closer!

Edgar too! I made him a custom hair with a lighter undercut - I’m mostly happy with it, probably could’ve shifted it a shade closer to his skintone but the texturing was weird no matter what :P And his stripey shirt! I wish Body Shop didn’t have that hands-on-hips pose lol, it looks so much better in-game, but that’s all the better :)

I got some new clothes for Todd as well! As soon as I saw this ‘fit I was like “Oh that’s 100% Todd there he is.” Scriadad hug ♥ So cute

Foot-dancing together stopp it’s so cute!!

The way he looks at them stoppp <3 <3 They kept doing this right up til they left for home haha, Todd’s giggles are the cutest

Used SimPE to save him to the Body Shop, I now have infinite copies of The Boyyyy ♪

Moved him in with his “parents” as just shadow people basically, they’re not gonna matter in a bit as long as I remember how to get the Social Worker/Adoption process to work properly. Get her Todd!!

Look, Todd, your new dads are here! Initially I wasn’t sure who I wanted to adopt him, got lots of options; the first passes, the married couple with their own Todd, Johnny?? He definitely doesn’t have the facilities for a child lol But these are the ones that showed up on their own, so the married Vargases are the winners!

Scriabin cares more about him than his actual parents ;; A stranger off the street shows him more care! Not that it’s a high watermark

#The Sims 2 #My queue is too backlogged on main! And I /have/ been working on a lot of Vargas-specific Sims 2 retextures so it's fine lol #These are still tests - as said up top lol - so these events are ''non canon'' to what will eventually be my actual Vargas family #The beats will be similar tho! It's mostly just a lot of tweaking at this point to get everything just where I want before the domino falls #Edgar Nny and Todd are all so close to done - Scriabin still needs a bit more work lol of course he's the problem member ♪#It'll be worth it tho! >:3c Handsome lad <3 #Did find out some interesting things with the Social Worker/Adoption process :0 Most importantly that adoption basically wipes everything #Wipes memories and family relations and changes the last name! So I'll have to go in with SimPE to change his name back once I'm there #I love SimPE haha ♪ I mean it's just an extension of how much I love TS2 but I just ughsjkhagf it's a good program!#It's extremely powerful and easy to get lost in if you don't know where to look but it's also incredibly user-friendly if you do know #Like - it's as easy as ''Open this sub-menu. Click this button. Rename this. You're all done'' it's just jdsflf Sims 2 my beloved <3 <3 #I decided to cheat down the Casils' relationship with Todd before everything else - thus why his father is menacing him for the prank #I've seen Sims with not high enough friendship to not take a water balloon as a fun invitation but not between a parent and child!#It's subtle but the parent being mad and the kid cowering :( It's sadly appropriate for Todd #I stuck the Casils in a box to wait things out and they ended up glitching frozen in bed - they're effectively dead by Motive but can't move #So they can't die /or/ live - feels fitting #If you'd like to recreate CPS taking your child away without straight up torturing them! - Hunger. You just need hunger lol #Alternately you can also have them miss class if you'd prefer to feed them - both will result in being taken away after long enough #If I return to this save it's gonna be confusing since both Todds are identical and have the same names lol #I do have a bunch of new clothes! Second shopping trip :D #There's something oddly fitting for the Vargases to adopt twin/clones lol - fun shenaniganary until the Final Version comes to pass #Although now that I think of it I Could also give them a toddler!Todd hmmmmmm #It's an idea :)

This is a picture from 15 July 2004 ,this was the first finished version of the base game (with maybe some few beta stuff left) and the first box cover was made ,this was maybe an alpha prototype,the main menu looks a bit different from the final and the renders as well.

Menu Boards

Fixed an issue with some installs where autonomous townies would mysteriously spend $100 while considering ordering food.

Thanks to bowedy for assistance with tracking this down and also the French translations.

For mod-mod makers, the BHAV you will need to copy over is 0x1026 "Sub - Can Pay?"

I can’t replicate this on my UC from Origin install, but the issue seems to be within the 0x04EE global BHAV where Sims in a global family (townies, tourists, locals, et al) don’t honour parameter 4 “Just Test?” but make payment regardless.

“It’s been lovely to be able to wind down” Althea said as they waited for their server to arrive. “Being here with you, it’s been magical.”

“Same for me, darling” Thomas said as he went to pick up his menu.

“But I will admit that part of me is anxious to get back home” she continued, after their server had taken their order.

“This town, the dream has been my whole life for years, and I’ve been there with no break for nearly a year.”

“You need to switch off from the town from time to time” Thomas told her gently before he took a sip of water. “You’ll burn yourself out otherwise.”

“Easier said than done” she said with a sigh. “But there are times that I worry that if I don’t apply myself all the time, the passion, the drive will slow and die.”

He nudged her foot with his own under the table “Don’t overthink it, just go with the flow.”

Althea smiled but in a way that told him that she would still worry. He would have to teach her to go easier on herself when it came to her role.

Their food arrived, along with a bottle of champagne, on the house from the staff. Both of them warmly thanked their server and host before taking their flutes.

“To us” Althea said with a twinkle in her eyes as she smiled across at him.

Local woman downloads favourite game onto computer only to realise she likes it much better on switch, 15 dead 73 injured

#stardew on switch just feels… correct. idk #maybe it’s just because i’m so used to the controls. i mean rotating furniture is a whole ass process but other than that everything is just #so smooth and so fast to do. pc feels so clunky to me idk #maybe once i get used to it i’ll be zooming idk. like the controls make sense but i still can’t get my head around them #maybe i’m just not used to playing games on my computer lol. apart from the sims but that’s 90% clicking stuff #it also annoys the hell out of me that the e and f keys are so close to wasd because i’m always accidentally clicking them and bringing up #my inventory or journal and it drives me insane #is there a way to disable that? like i’d be fine just pressing escape to get in the pause menu & physically clicking on my journal #numbers & tab to switch tools around is genius though; no further notes #i honestly would’ve continued playing on switch forever but 1) there’s only so much you can do and i want to add mods (sve for certain #and maybe ridgeside & always raining in the valley if i can) so that i can have a damn near infinite amount of content #and 2) my friend doesn’t have a switch and she wants to play co-op #like could we get another joycon; connect my switch to her tv (my tv would never work) and play that way? almost definitely #but it works out cheaper for both of us to buy a whole ass copy of the game than for us to go halves on a controller #the controller also wouldn’t be used for very much whereas a copy of stardew on each of our computers will definitely get played #as long as i can fucking get my head around the controls that is #i’m so glad it’s the kind of game you can take your time in lmao #personal

LUCPIX on his YouTube channel, in the Community uploaded a gif with the interface of The Sims 2 during its development:

This interface has never been seen anywhere else in the screenshots before.

LUCPIX did not mention where he found such an interface and what period of development it is from.

The Sims 2 Beta Discord believes that this gray interface was the game in the period between the build that had eyeball floors and the E3 2003 build. But the blonde is there and builds where the interface is similar to the one from SimCity. And that lighting was used on the faces in the pie menus of the same time.
