Yoga Mod by Twinsimming & Alunn 🧘🏾‍♀️

This mod brings the yoga activity from The Sims 4: Spa Day to The Sims 3. Originally created by Alunn, I recently took over to add additional features and bring it to release!

This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.

The yoga mat is draggable in Live Mode and can be placed in a sim’s personal or family inventory.

Yoga Mat

Using any of the yoga mat interactions will build the Athletic skill (except for Children), though some more slowly than others. As your sim’s skill increases, they will learn new yoga poses and improve on their execution of previous ones.

A sim’s Athletic skill also determines how long they can use the mat before becoming Fatigued* (anywhere from 4-7 hours):

Skill Level 1-3 (Poor/Novice): 4 hours

Skill Level 4-6 (Normal): 5 hours

Skill Level 7-9 (Skilled): 6 hours

Skill Level 10 (Expert): 7 hours

*Children will always get Fatigued after 3 hours.

Your sim won’t gain muscle, lose weight, or become more fit from using the mat, but they will fulfill any generic workout related wishes. And sims won’t lose Hygiene as fast as they would using other athletic equipment.

Sims aged Teen and up will switch into their athletic outfit, take off their shoes before using the mat, and put them back on when finished. Children will switch into their athletic outfit, but leave their shoes on.

Pregnant sims can use the mat in any trimester!

Interactions

Practice Yoga (Child and Up): Raises Athletic skill, gives sims the Tranquil moodlet after 2 hours, small boost to Fun need

Do Yoga Routine… (Teen and Up):

Stress Relieving (Level 3 Athletic Skill): Boosts Fun need, gives Tranquil moodlet, slowly raises Athletic skill, can be used even when sims have the Stressed moodlet

Mind Balancing (Level 5 Athletic Skill): Boosts Social need, gives Tranquil moodlet, small boost to Fun need, slowly raises Athletic skill

Energy Centering (Level 7 Athletic Skill): Boosts Energy need. gives Tranquil moodlet, small boost to Fun need, slowly raises Athletic skill

By default, yoga routines will only boost their specific needs up to half way, so don't think your sims can forgo a good night's rest or talking to a friend in favor of a tree pose or two!

Sims with the Athletic skill, Martial Arts skill, Athletic trait, or the Disciplined trait will be drawn to use the mat autonomously. Sims will also be drawn to the mat when it is placed on a Gym, Dojo, or Chinese Garden lot type.

Conflicts & Known Issues

- As this is a brand new scripted object, there shouldn’t be any conflicts.

- Teen sims sink a bit into the mat on certain animations because The Sims 4 doesn’t have shorter teens to convert animations from.

- If a laundry basket/washer/dryer has been placed on the lot, when sims take off their shoes to use the yoga mat, a pile of clothing will spawn.

You can do a Costume Party (Spooky Party)  with the Spooky Day pack

You can do a house party and simply dress your sims up in costumes downloaded cc, in-game clothes, put on a costume with seasons holiday tradition, etc.)

Haunted House

With the paranormal stuff pack, haunted houses are a real thing in-game, and you can have your sims visit there. Feel free to take your sims to visit and add some real spooks to your sim’s night! (TEST IN GAME) 

If you don’t have the paranormal stuff pack, you can put a spooky house in game, add a spooky lot trait, and have your sims visit and see what spooks they get. 

Halloween Bake Sale:

A fun idea is having a sim of ours bake some festive treats and sell them at a park or anywhere that they can put a food stand

Can be done with the base game & RVSN’s Salebration retail system mod!

Spooky Day Party:

Crank up the tunes, bring out the booze, and have a spooky party for your sims. Throw up some decorations, bake some festive treats, and rev up the fright night!

1. What’s your favourite sims death?

- Tbh I haven’t seen a lot of different ones in my game, I’d like to see the one by meteorite and by bunny or chicken. I don’t know if a chicken can kill, but I heard about the bunnies.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

- Maxis Match. I’ve never tried Alpha hairs, but I used some alpha closes before.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

- No. I try not to use cheats at all.

4. Do you use move objects?

- I have a Better Build Buy mod, and it let’s you easily turn it on and off. I always turn it on when downloading from the gallery. I’m not a builder, but I use it sometimes when decorating, because it’s beyond me why can’t a put a painting on the wall if there’s a yoga mat on the floor!

5. Favorite mod?

- It’s a hard one! I love mods and use a lot of them. But I must say that I can’t play without More Columns mod. Even when I play vanilla. Because two rows is not enough.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

- My game was 🏴‍☠️ for several years. Then I switched to the light side, and the first pack that I got was Cats and Dogs.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

- I think like aLIVE. But tbh I don’t think I pronounce it in English, since it’s not my native languge.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

- Hmm. I still think about a sim I made in I think early 2019 when I first found out about mods and CC. And she was my test sim to try out all these mods and CC. I didn’t have a blog back then. I also didn’t know about the tab mode back then.

9. Have you made a simself?

- No. I wanted to, but knowing my CAS skills she won’t look anything like me.

10. What sim traits do you give yourself?

- Socially awkward, cat lover and gloomy.

11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?

- The white blonde. One of the new swatches that were added.

12. Favorite EA hair?

- Hmm. I’d say a medium straight one and the half bun one.

13. Favorite life stage?

- Young adult, and also infants and toddlers.

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

- I can’t build 😭 I am a gameplay simmer.

- I think so, yes. I do recolours.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?

- Yes! I won’t name anyone, because I am afraind I will forget someone, but I do have simblr friends. Not a squad though.

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)

- 3 was my favourite for a long time, I still played it when Sims 4 was out for several years. But right now I ca’t imagine going back to 3. I really like the cartoony style of Sims 4.

18. Do you have any sims merch?

- No

19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?

- No. I once was very eager to make one! I even made a banner for the channel. And recorded a video. But when it was time to record a voice over, I realised that it’s not for me. I am too socially awkward. I was too nervous to even record myself, even though I was home alone 🤦‍♀️

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?

- I don’t think it changed tbh. I have a same face syndrome, so all my sims look a like.

21. What’s your Origin ID?

- I don’t use my legal one amymore, because EA decided they don’t want my money (they don’t sell their games in my country anymore). So I made a new one, donwloaded a free base game and 🏴‍☠️ all the packs. I don’t share anything to the gallery. And I don’t feel safe sharing these IDs.

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?

- There are a lot! I can’t name them all, but I must say that I have almost everything by @ravensim​ and @aira-cc​ in my mods folder.

23. How long have you had a simblr?

- Since June 2019 I think, so 4 years. My simblr is older than my son 😅

24. How do you edit your pictures?

- I 100% rely on gshade. I use a personal edit of Strawberry Rhubarb Gshade Preset. And I also add moodlets and stuff in Photoshop.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?

- If the leak about horses is true, I’d love to have them! I wish there will also be a unicorn! 🦄 And I’d also want faires.

- I’d say Cats and Dogs and Cottage Living. But it’s hard to chose really. I also love Island Living, because Sulani is gorgeous.

On September 2, 2021, Maxis revealed a pack refresh for Spa Day, released as a free patch on September 7, 2021. Over 100 buy and build mode items are introduced in Spa Day, for building the perfect spa, along with new clothes, with the style being spa and sports related. There is a brand new Radio Station called “New Age”. With aquariums, new fish has been added to the fish collection. Sims can catch or buy fish and put them into the aquarium for other Sims to view. In the spa lots, there are yoga classes that Sims can take part in.Īquariums return from previous titles as well. Yoga mats are new objects that can be purchased in buy mode and can be used everywhere. Yoga returns from previous titles as a skill for Sims to develop. Along with these saunas, there is a new death by sauna. Saunas can be placed any type of lot and are another great way for Sims to relive their stress and relax. Saunas also return from previous titles in Spa Day. They can be taken in every kind of bathtub in any type of lot. Along with the massages are mud baths and body soaks, a new way for Sims to relive their stress. Massages can leave Sims with either a positive or negative moodlet. Sims can now take hand and foot massages with the new massage chair wherever they like. Developing the Wellness skill also unlocks new food and drink recipes. Taking relaxing mud baths, saunas, and massages are available at this lot and at home. Sims can visit the Spa for a revitalizing massage, or work on the new skill with some yoga. Wellness is also great to develop in the brand new Spa lot assignment, which is the main feature of this game pack. Sims can build the skill by practicing yoga or meditation, higher skill levels enable the Sim to do more poses in yoga and unlocks more interactions with all Spa activities. Spa Day introduces a new Wellness skill, which can help Sims relieve stress and gain new abilities. It adds spas to the game, where Sims can go to receive massages, along with mud baths, do yoga, get manicures and more. The Sims 4: Spa Day is the second game pack for The Sims 4, released on July 14, 2015.

Some items are designed to be used when camping (such as portable beds, tents and foodstuffs), and can be purchased from the ranger's station in the national park or in build mode other items can be purchased through build mode. Over 60 Build/Buy mode items are introduced in Outdoor Retreat. These include marshmallows, hot dogs and even bugs. New food can be cooked through the use of a fire pit. Sims can now host a new party: Weenie Roast. Sims can learn the herbalism skill, and with it they can identify plants, insects and even make remedies, such as an insect repellent. A new nature aspiration, called Outdoor Enthusiast, is added. Sims with the Squeamish trait will become uncomfortable at the sight of insects, vomiting, violence, death and anything dirty. Sims can also take part in group activities with other Sims such as telling a group story, or stargazing/cloudgazing in a group.Ī new trait, aspiration and skill are introduced in Outdoor Retreat. Sims can now "Stargaze" and "Cloudgaze", which can make them "inspired". These days count against Sim's vacation days if they are employed, so job performance will lower if employed Sims vacation too long with no vacation days available, but only on days when they have work. A vacation can last for up to seven Sim days, but can be extended. Sims can only visit this world by vacationing there. The world consists of two neighborhoods which feature a national park, and five lots for rent (four houses and a campground) in the other. Outdoor Retreat introduces a new world, Granite Falls, which is only accessible while on vacation. Outdoor Retreat focuses on outdoor camping, similar to a vacation in Three Lakes in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage. It includes a new destination, many new objects, new outfits and new interactions. The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat is the first game pack for The Sims 4, released on January 13, 2015. The eleventh and most recent game pack, My Wedding Stories, was released on February 23, 2022. The first game pack, Outdoor Retreat, was released on January 13, 2015.
