A few things need to be clarified

I was looking for some blender tutorial this morning and surprised to find this tutorial by @simvaultthings. We happened to take the same approach to make Mask with Blender. The main difference is simvaultthings took it even further with Specular while I stressed more on how converter can apply this method. We also used different versions of Blender which is good, meaning more people can benefit from the tutorials.

Therefore, I will not take off my tutorial. Please use my version as a visual supplementary to simvaultthings' thorough and detailed step-by-step guide.

For the record, my tutorial clips were actually recorded in 2020/11, but I kept them to myself and went hiatus afterwards. The problem is I didn't do a decent search before I made the tutorial. I wasn't aware of the other version when I post it. It's not my intention to offend anyone or cause any problem. That's why I reblogged again with updated clarification. Thanks for your understanding.

How to Generate Mask with Blender

A quick way to help TS3 creators to arrange the mask with immediate result so they don't have to adjust everything back and forth. Especially useful with mesh of details or complicated structures.

Demo with both Blender 2.78 & 2.90

Please be noted: This video tutorial is not a step by step one. It will only show you how to use the material to generate the mask for recolorable obj. Basically it's similar to the process of baking multiplier with blender, only this time, we bake the "material" (diffuse). I will not introduce or explain RBG mask and how to bake multiplier, or even how to make your cc recolorable in the video.

For the color materials, you can download mine or create on your own. Just make sure the colors are correct.

Lmao but otherwise my settings are on highest (except high detailed lots) and I use Brntwaffles lighting mods, Nilxis' Realistic clouds + Milky Way Night Sky and Wasset's Enchanted Sky + Enchanted moon (can't find working links atm). All the little environmental tweaks make quite a big difference in atmosphere, imo 😊

Honestly it was mostly experimenting with weights and blender. S4studio forums helped me A LOT.

If your mesh is pretty basic (nothing too away from body mesh) this tutorial is all you need!!

I have some files that I haven't posted to the public up on my account and some times I have several downloads on them. And I've only given the link out to my friends. Is there a way to make sure this doesn't happen? If I do a private link, no one can see it except me if I'm logged in so that doesn't help!
