FINALLY I HAVE (at least one version of) EVERY TRIGUN SOUNDTRACK !!!!!

I want to get the Geneon English releases of the First Donuts & 2nd Donut Happy Pack at some point (I know the 2nd Donut has radically different packaging & disc design vs the original Japanese one, and I'm fairly certain the First Donuts does as well based on the scan of the Geneon back cover on Discogs vs the Japanese one in my collection). And if possible, maybe a less faded/damaged copy of the Kaze Wa Mirai Ni Fuku single would be cool to own.... but still !!! so cool to have them all, and lucky that all the Japanese ones still had their obi with them after all this time (none of these were still factory sealed).

An Italian man, who loves his twin sister very much

An Italian skater with real skills - his quad salchow and soft style of skating are highly praised, but he is easily influenced by his feelings and because of that, he wasn't able to achieve very good results. His twin sister is also a top skater in women's singles - they have very good relationship and they often sit with each other in Kiss and Cry. This season, in his short program, he becomes a knight to protect his sister, but his sister, the key person, seems to want to become independent from her brother. The Neapolitan dialect he speaks in the anime is represented by Hiroshima dialect.

SP: L'homme Armé O.S.T. from Destiny of Knights

In this program, to portray a medieval knight, I included e.g. sword-weaving moves. I can't say I share their ideals, but I had in my head the image of a medieval knight, so I tried to give this program a gallant/chivalrous feel, as if you were fighting in armor with a sword.

FS: Serenade for Two

The idea I had for this free program was to skate gently, with a lot of love... I can't really understand how Michele feels (his sister complex), so I think I was able to work on this program with a new and fresh frame of mind. Gently, as if he wants to embrace you… (While watching the anime) But why does he talk like this? (laugh) Is it Hiroshima dialect?

Grape 네 번째 앨범의 보컬로는 실력파 싱어 송라이터 최윤영이 참여했다. 이미 언더그라운드와 여러 밴드에서 가창력을 인정받고 드라마와 영화 O.S.T 참여 등의 활발한 활동을 벌이고 있는 인재다. 첫 번째 트랙 '아직도'는 깔끔한 분위기의 어쿠스틱 사운드로 시작된다. 오디오 편집을 통해 만들어낸 기타 플레이가 기존의 곡들에서 들어볼 수 없었던 신선함으로 다가온다. 하지만 점점 웅장한 일레트로닉 사운드가 가미되며 후렴에선 갈증을 해소하는 듯 시원함이 밀려오는 가창력이 돋보였다. 요즘 국내에서 가장 활발한 활동을 보이고 있는 뉴욕 맨하탄 음대 출신 현 편곡가 김의석의 과감한 편곡도 인상적이다. 어쩌면 도시적이면서도 슬픔이 메어있는 느낌이 이번 앨범의 타이틀인 [Gray]와 잘 어울리는 듯하다. 그에 반해 두 번째 트랙 '그대뿐이죠'는 서정적이며 부드러운 느낌의 섹션으로 귀를 사로잡는다. 사랑하는 연인이 갈등을 겪다가도 결국 그 사람이 가장 소중한 사람이라는 것을 깨닫는 내용의 가사가 편안한 느낌으로 무리 없이 다가온다. 드라마나 영화의 어떤 장면에 묻어도 잘 어울릴만한 곡이다. 이 곡에선 일렉트로닉 애시드 재즈 밴드 크리스탈 레인의 멤버이자 영화, 드라마 음악 작곡가로 활동 중인 전해일이 현 편곡을 맡았다. 직접 만든 첫 번째 앨범의 뮤직비디오가 입소문이 나면서 동료 뮤지션들의 뮤직비디오 작업에도 한창이다. 사진과 플래시를 이용한 소박하면서도 느낌 있는 뮤직비디오가 이번 앨범에도 선보일 예정이다. 이번 앨범 역시 완성도를 위해 조규범 엔지니어와 기타리스트 강선우가 참여했고 그룹 야시카의 보컬 지노가 코러스를 입혔다. 월드컵으로 인해 많은 가수들의 활동이 저조한 2010년 여름 Yellow, Blu, Rosso 이어 4번째 Gray로 돌아온 Grape의 활발한 활동을 기대해본다. Storia Di Musica #160 - AA.VV. - Singles (O.S.T.), 1992

Nel 1992 il grunge era il genere musicale ed estetico imperante nell’universo della musica pop. Qualcuno dall’occhio lungo se ne accorse per tempo e proprio a metà del 1992 mandò nelle sale cinematografiche un film girato a Seattle in cui non solo il mondo delle band della città è lo sfondo alle dinamiche dei protagonisti, ma addirittura alcuni dei nuovi eroi fanno dei piccoli cameo. Cameron Crowe è stato prima che un grande regista un giornalista musicale prodigio: a 15 anni scrive recensioni per riviste come Creem e Playboy, a 16 diviene firma del magazine Rolling Stone, che lo manda ad intervistare gente del calibro di Dylan o Neil Young. È anche appassionato di scrittura e il suo primo romanzo Fast Times At Ridgemont High (in italiano Fuori Di Testa e che vede il debutto di tre futuri premi Oscar, Sean Penn, Nicholas Cage e Forest Whitaker) si trasforma in un film scritto e diretto da Crowe. Arriveranno poi alcuni titoli fortunatissimi, come Non Per soldi... Ma Per Amore (titolo originale Say Anything...), Jerry Maguire (con Oscar per Cuba Gooding Jr come Miglior Attore Non Protagonista) e poi nel 2000 lo storico e meraviglioso Almost Blue, profondamento autobiografico, sulla storia di un adolescente che segue in tour una nuova e formidabile rock band, Oscar per la miglior sceneggiatura originale e numerosi altri premi. Singles racconta invece le vicende di due coppie di giovani che vivono nello stesso condominio: quella composta da Janet Livermore (interpretata da Bridget Fonda), che lavora come cameriera di un café, e dall'aspirante musicista Cliff Poncier (nel film Matt Dillon), e l'altra da Linda Powell (Kyra Sedgwick) e Steve Dunne (Campbell Scott). Gli intrecci, l’ambientazione, il rapporto molto sincero con la città è stato da molti critici indicato come il seme da cui nacque, appena qualche mese dopo, l’idea per la serie culto Friends, ma è proprio Seattle città di nuovi gruppi e nuova musica che fa da scenario importante al film: in una scena del film Dillon suona con il suo gruppo, i Citizen Dick, in cui compaiono Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard e Jeff Ament  e numerosi sono i cameo di Chris Cornell, Layne Staley degli Alice In Chains e persino compare in una scena Tim Burton. Tutta questa attenzione non poteva non sfociare in una grandiosa colonna sonora. La colonna sonora di Singles, che viene pubblicata il 30 giugno del 1992, può essere davvero considerata per organicità e valore dei brani uno dei grandi dischi grunge del periodo. 13 pezzi che raccolgono il meglio di allora, con qualche puntata interessante e inaspettata. Si apre con la forza di Would? degli Alice In Chains, scritta peraltro dal chitarrista Jerry Cantrell in memoria di Andrew Wood dei Mother Love Bone: cantata con il caratteristico timbro con Layne Staley (che in realtà canta solo il ritornello da solo) diventerà singolo del disco e farà da trampolino al successo di Dirt, il seminale disco del settembre del ‘92 che lancerà in orbita il successo della band; i neonati Pearl Jam contribuiscono con due canzoni che diventeranno mito del loro futuro catalogo. Una è Breath, una canzone che fino al loro primo greatest hits (del 2004) non fu mai incisa in una registrazione ufficiale della band di Vedder e nemmeno tanto usata nei concerti nonostante sia da sempre uno dei brani più amati dai fan,  tanto che una volta avviarono una petizione on-line affinchè non uscisse mai dalle scalette dei concerti, l’altra è la rabbiosa State Of Love And Trust, scritta da Vedder dopo aver letto la sceneggiatura del film, da allora anch’essa una delle più amate dai fan, con in questo caso un uso più profondo e intensivo della canzone, virata nei dischi e dal vivo qualche volta all’acustico, altre volte ancora con più rabbia ed elettricità della versione presente qui; Seasons è una delizia acustica di Chris Cornell dei Soundgarden, che riprenderà nei suoi lavori futuri da artista solista e insieme ai Soundgarden c’è anche la potente Birth Ritual; si passa poi alla magnificenza pop di Paul Westemberg, alla prima uscita fuori dal suo gruppo, The Replacements, che regala due perle nella stupenda Dyslexic Heart (meravigliosa, un gioiello pop) e in Waiting For Somebody. C’è poi la cover del classico zeppeliano, The Battle Of Evermore, a firma The Lovemongers, che sono Ann e Nancy Wilson della band Heart, nata a Seattle a metà anni ‘70. C’è la storica e favolosa Chloe Dancer\Crown Of Thorns dei Mother Love Bone, l’omaggio ad uno dei gruppi fondatori del movimento, i Mudhoney, che contribuiscono con Overblown, e tre sorprese finali: un omaggio al mito della musica di Seattle, Jimi Hendrix, con Maybe This Be Love (dal disco leggenda Are You Experienced? del 1967); Nearly Lost You di una delle nuove band emergenti del movimento, gli Screaming Trees di Mark Lanegan, che proprio nel 1992 faranno uscire il loro disco capolavoro, Sweet Oblivion, incarnando l’anima più alternativa e drammatica del movimento grunge; e infine una canzone di una band di Chicago, che proprio in quei periodi si stava facendo notare, gli Smashing Pumpkins di Billy Corgan, che regalano al disco uno dei brani più eccitanti ed emozionanti, gli oltre 8 minuti di Drown. Il successo del disco verrà amplificato da quello che di lì a pochi mesi ebbero capolavori come Ten e soprattutto Nevermind dei Nirvana, che finirà per costruire l’estetica definitiva dei fan di questo genere: abiti oversize, preferenza per le camice da lumberjack a scacchi, le Dr.Marten’s ai piedi, i capelli lunghi, l’aria non curata e più che altro la sensazione di provare un malessere interiore che va “interpretato” senza sfociare nelle manifestazioni spettacolari come successo in precedenza (come per esempio nel punk). Il disco vende centinaia di migliaia di copie, il successo continuerà con altri dischi capolavoro (come per esempio Vitalogy dei Pearl Jam, Jar Of Flies degli Alice In Chains o Siamese Dream degli Smashing Pumpkins), sarà riferimento anche per band di altra generazione (tipo i R.E.M. con Monster) ma tutto perderà potenza dopo la morte di Kurt Cobain. Rimane spazio per un ultimo grande disco, una sorta di canto del cigno del movimento, che sarà protagonista dell’ultima storia musicale di Febbraio.

here's my full Trigun & Trigun-adjacent CD collection as of now:

First we have AKIMA & NEOS, the group that performed "Kaze wa Mirai ni Fuku", the ED theme of the 1998 anime, and the original version of "Sound Life". L-R: Kaze Wa Mirai Ni Fuku single (on miniCD!), Akima & Neos (which has the original version of "Sound Life"), and No Moon,No Sun (nothing Trigun-related on that, I just liked their music and wanted to get their other CD haha)

The rest is all Tsuneo Imahori, with the Trigun soundtracks as seen in my previous post as well as my Gungrave soundtrack collection: The TV anime soundtracks, O.S.T. uno "righthead" and O.S.T. 2 "lefthead", both being the Geneon English releases. below them are well... not official. First is the Gungrave PS2 soundtrack, which I purchased assuming it was the official release but turned out to be a convincing bootleg that fooled me--it turns out there's quite a large bootleg Japanese anime/game ost CD industry. welp, now I know.....and then beside that is one I very obviously made myself--a burned CD of the Gungrave Overdose PS2 soundtrack as that one never had an official release. I came across the ripped MP3s many many many years ago on some forgotten forum thread many many many pages deep in a desperate google search to find the game's music back when I was in high school. I uploaded them all on my youtube channel and 12 years later it seems my upload is STILL the only one....

I had such a fixation on Gungrave Overdose back then which really drove my determination to both find, save, and share that soundtrack. I don't want it to get lost!!!!

Shall We Skate? O.S.T. from The King and the Skater

Original costume design - Sagiri Yuko (Chacott)

In case of this costume, the order I've got from [Yamamoto] director was the most specific and based on "The King and the Skater". I've also received some visual references to work with. To give this costume the image of an Asian king, I used red lace fabric with golden thread embroidery. The costume is tight-fitting, but I also added the loose elements around the waist. I designed Phichit's SP and FS as a pair representing images of Thailand's past and future. I think Phichit is a very stylish person, so I gave his costumes very clean and crisp look.

Anime costume design - Ishikawa Kayoko

I aimed to design a costume which brings together motifs from Thai traditional clothing and classic proper handsomeness. We chose all-back hairstyle for this program, and I think Phichit's attractiveness increased by 20% thanks to this.

In contrast to his SP, Phichit's FS represents the image of more modern Thailand. The order from Yamamoto director was "Something that feels light and breezy, and a bit like everyday clothes". I still wanted to make the costume look prince-like, so just as to the SP costume, I added a scarf. The scarf is sewn to the costume from the clasp-like element in the center up, but both ends are loose and fluttery. The hem on the back side of the top is cut into what's called a "handkerchief hem". The important feature of this costume is that the handkerchief hem and the scarf on the front flutter with every turn and spin. The design is tight-fitting. The chest is visible through a single layer of white net fabric. Phichit has darker skin, so I think white costume suits him very well, although the effect is different than in Yurio's case.

The blue and white colors are well balanced and the whole costume has a water-like, refreshing vibe to it. I think it suits Phichit very well.

Hackers - O.S.T. Alright, I'll be honest and say that I am both ecstatic and embarrassed about this one only because the movie aged so poorly (but honestly is still an all time favorite). Back in the day this soundtrack hit HARD and it introduced my young teen self to super important bands like Kruder & Dorfmeister, Orbital, Leftfield, Massive Attack, and Underworld. Looking back on it, I'm not sure I can think of a better collection of incredible mainstream-friendly mid-90s UK electronic bangers, especially that ended up soundtracking what is now a cult favorite, and not just because of the terrible, dated, mostly inaccurate quotables that will live on longer than your recollection of the plot itself. I feel like the true art of a collective soundtrack was mostly lost in the early 2000s for one reason or another but throughout the 80s, 90s, and the first few years of the new millennium, we were truly blessed with some seriously and surprisingly gnarly soundtrack that hold some of the finest rarities from monster discographies today. Don't believe me? Go back and look at the Romeo + Juliet, Godzilla, Singles, Bulworth, Romeo Must Die, Reality Bites, and/or The Crow soundtracks. Like Hackers, they're wall to wall with killer tracks from bands on top of their respective games.
