AND ANOTHER THING! The sith are encouraged to be the best, being replaced as your masters apprentice means YOU FAILED, you are a failure! And if you aren't dead, this is the worst thing that can happen to you. It's an insult to be replaced. Sith is competitive. it's an Ivy League school baby, and only two of you can exist, and only one can graduate! better always be on ur A game! You gotta be the best, or else you're getting ur ass replaced with the next chum.
This is opposed to the Jedi, who embrace change and new apprentices. Yes, your master will have many apprentices before and after you, but this doesn't make you worse or better than the other apprentices because they are simply on a journey as you are.

Sign-ups and initial prompt for the 2025 writing competition!
Good people, the exciting news is here: it's time for this year's grand writing competition!
This year, it's going to be "summarize the previous fic": you have total liberty to write what you want, whichever fandom you like, but the prompt has to be a summary of the previous person's fic. You can make this summary yourself, and it can be as liberal a summary as you choose: but one must be able to draw a clear line from fic A to fic B, and then from fic B to fic C.
As an example: Vinelle writes a fic about Alice and Esme decorating Isle Esme while they discuss their husbands. The Carnivorous Muffin reads this, and decides it's really a fic about how you regard your loved ones and romantic relationships. She writes an introspective fic about Lily Potter contemplating James and Harry, while they're all hiding from Voldemort. Vinelle reads this, and because the fic has "woman worrying about husband and children in politically fraught situation" as an underlying theme, she writes a fic about Padmé Amidala during Revenge of the Sith.
On and on it goes.
The first prompt of the competition will be written by The Carnivorous Muffin or Vinelle (unless someone wants to do it first, you're welcome to volunteer), and will be chosen by RNG from the submissions you all give when you sign up on the form linked below.
You are free to withdraw from the competition at any time you choose, or to switch your placement in the queue which somebody else.
Sign-ups and the initial prompt are to be submitted here by June 25th.

What are your thoughts about Anakin/Vader and Palpatine relationship, I believe there are many unexplored nuances and dark themes there but also complicated?
They have a unique relationship (for Palpatine), in that Anakin is the only person whose love and devotion actually matters to him. He would probably couch it in terms of "absolute loyalty", but he knows what Vader feels for him is love, and that A.) it's necessary for their relationship to function B.) he has to continue consciously fostering it and C.) at some deep and subconscious level, he enjoys it.
I think there's a part of him that gets off on manipulating people in general, and the more powerful/dangerous the person, the more enjoyable it is for him (see also: him cackling as he throws the Senate at Yoda.) Since Anakin has the most raw potential of any being in SW and is "The Chosen One" (which I fully believe at some level Palpatine buys off on), he's the one that Palpatine gets the most pleasure out of controlling. While at the end of the day everyone in the Galaxy is an object for him, Anakin is the one whose loyalty he spent the most time and effort cultivating by far. Theirs is an intimate and personal relationship that he really isn't shown to have with anyone—we get glimpses of it with Padmé and Dooku, but that's as close as any of his relationships come.
There's this narcissism classification system that categorizes people in terms of providing "fuel" and as "fuel matrices", and I firmly believe that Vader is Palpatine's "Intimate Partner Primary Source." Vader provides Palpatine with a captive audience to as much of his true self as he's willing to show anyone. If there's one thing he enjoys, it's gloating. The fact that he's comfortable letting Vader into his Sith world to the degree that he (Anakin) would be able to piece together the degree to which Palpatine manipulated him during the Wars shows an astounding level of confidence in his power in the relationship.
There's a lot of "takes" on and interpretations of their relationship, but I tend to think Palpatine was more manipulative and faux-kindly than shocking Vader with Force lightning all the time. Mostly because it's more interesting, and in a way, more intensely effed up, though I also feel like it makes more sense for their established dynamic in the prequels. Fear would not be enough to motivate Vader to do what Palpatine wants him to do. Anakin is a person who tends to be more motivated by personal loyalty than to abstractions or even his own overarching goals. He needs someone to love, and the Emperor knows this. He's always understood that Obi-Wan and Padmé were his prime competition for primary loyalty.
The paradoxical aspect of their relationship is that while Palpatine thrives on Vader's devotion, because he himself is incapable of actual love, there's a part of him that is incapable of respecting Vader as an apprentice because of it. I suspect that he finds Vader's paternal reasons for finally getting the guts to go up against him distasteful.
If Luke had killed Vader and turned, Palpatine probably would have been low-key disappointed with what he'd gotten and wished he'd kept the OG model, as defective as it was. I tend to think he would have enjoyed turning Leia more, as she's a weird combo of both of her parents, his favorite playthings (Padmé and Palpatine's weird relationship is underrated.)

     —   ACROSS THE STARS (SITH!KIT TANTHALOS X READER)
Tumblr media
Summary: Kit Tanthalos is a Sith apprentice - and your biggest enemy. Now she's fighting for your hand in marriage.
CHAPTER TWO: CHOSEN
Kit knew she wasn't wanted.
...But she was greedy. And young. Too young to understand that actions had consequences, too young to feel the depth of those consequences.
Truth was, she'd been planning a takeover of Naboo for some time. She wasn't here for you. She was here because she knew it would be easier to win the throne through your planet's own traditions, rather than taking it by force. She could have done it, of course, but it would've taken more time, more manpower.
After some time spent considering it, mulling it over, marrying you seemed like the obvious choice. Kit could even view it altruistically, if she tried hard enough: she was saving you from an unhappy relationship with someone else, after all. But she knew you found spending time with her just as displeasurable. She knew you resented, hated, feared her. Just as everyone else did.
And here she was, along with all these other fools. It was easy to size them up, almost immediately: Graydon, the prince of Zygerria, Jade, the Jedi, and - Kit's brother, Airk.
Of course.
Kit could never be best at anything, Airk had to be best at it first. Apparently, that was also true when it came to winning you. She had exiled him, long ago, and he had left Corellia without complaint. He seemed happier, now that he wasn't a prince. At least she could do that much for him.
So, that was her competition. Two princes and a Jedi.
Kit was sure she could beat 'em all.
"Knock knock, princess," Kit said, stepping into your quarters. She'd snuck up the stairs not long after the other contestants had gone to bed, longing to talk to you, wondering what you thought of her presence.
Well, she knew what you thought. Mostly, she wanted to know what you'd say.
"What do you want?" you snapped, and as you turned in Kit's direction she glimpsed tears in your eyes.
That... wasn't what she expected.
"Um," Kit cleared her throat, sitting on the ornate couch beside you. "I guess I just wanted to talk."
You waved a hand.
"Talk. Doesn't matter what I want anyway."
"I'm guessing you're mad that the people of your kingdom seem to prefer me."
You laughed.
"Yeah. Something like that."
"Well, who did you want them to pick?"
"I don't know, Jade? The honorable Jedi? Or Graydon, the kind prince? Even Airk. He's not the smartest, but he would've been someone I could've ruled with. Anyone but a Sith. Anyone but you."
"Ow," said Kit, and she hadn't realized she'd spoken it aloud until she saw your eyebrows raise. "I mean, I can't be that bad, right?"
"You've killed people. Innocents. You banished your own parents. Even your brother won't have anything to do with you."
"Airk was grateful I took over, okay? Now he has time to do the things he actually wants to do - like playing sabacc, or competing for princesses."
"Grateful? You almost killed him!"
"I did what I had to do, and I'm sorry that you're too stupid, foolish and naive to see that!"
You stared at Kit, lip trembling. She wanted to reach out for you, tell you she was sorry, tell you that she didn't think you were any of those things.
Instead, she just mumbled "See you tomorrow," and swept out of your chambers, cape swinging behind her.

Baylan and Shin’s parting
The scene that has upset (me) or confused (also me) most people. A chunk of people, who I respectfully disagree with, have said that Baylan is “abandoning Shin. While I agree she definitely feels abandoned, I do not believe that is or ever would be Baylan’s intention. I just don’t think it works.
There’s an obvious amount of care (love, you could say) in their relationship. They’re not your typical competitive Sith master / apprentice relationship or Jedi master / padawan where feelings like that were repressed. They’re not mercenaries who were put together for a job or purely for the selfish gain of power. Shin has been under his wing as his padawan, borderline his child, for a long time.
He’s very protective of her as we see most notably in episode 4 when he ‘kills’ Ahsoka because she threw Shin into a rock. That sort of protection that drives you to kill someone (I don’t believe his original intention was to kill her—it was that that set him off) doesn’t come from a lack of love or lack of a relationship.
Their first scene on Peridea is another to consider. They’re comfortable, open, and vulnerable. Shin’s tone when she says “I know no such stories (shoutout to the person who made that post about Baylan telling Shin stories about the Jedi when she was younger. i still think about you)” is a sarcastic tone, almost teasing. They both comfortably smile and are way more relaxed being around just each other. Shin asks him questions without fear and Baylan answers without hesitation.
So, no, I don’t believe he’s abandoning her.
Now, nothing is known for sure. What exactly does he hear? What exactly does he see? What vision does he have?
Hopefully we get that answer, but my (and maybe most of you) bigger concern is why part from Shin for a wasteland and some power (yes yes we know he wants the ‘beginning’ but that’s still kinda VAGUE)?
Again, don’t know the truth, just throwing out ideas. i cant wait to be wrong on every front and be completely humbled tuesday night lolol
For one, he’s sensed and understood her questions and doubts and is actually considering them. He’s recognizing “OK, she doesn’t see all that I do”. He isn’t saying “Nope, I’m forcing you to join me in this”. He’d be a jackass if he did that. Since he seems pretty sold on staying on Peridea for… whatever it is he believes is there, he’s letting her go so she can, in turn, find her footing and take her place in the coming empire. Yes, he doesn’t know if that’s even what she wants, but Shin hasn’t exactly told him what she would want. All she’s mentioned (I think) was about leaving Peridea since Thrawn is desperate to leave as well.
Either way, he’s considering her and letting her go her own way instead of forcing her into a future with him that she obviously isn’t interested in.
Two, Baylan actually knows a lot more than he’s letting on and sees something that is… dangerous. Something he doesn’t want Shin exposed to. Something he knows is dangerous and he’s trying to keep her from (so she doesn’t suffer the same fate as his last padawan—if it’s true, of course). This one seems more selfish than some other thoughts. It can even fit other fandoms—he’ll go into it guns blazing for himself despite its dangers, but not her.
Three, which is just a bit of a vaguer, rephrased Two, he can’t / doesn’t want to lose another padawan if he can help it.
“Oh, then why’d she even follow him to Peridea? Why’d Baylan even let her come if he was going to abandon her anyway?”
He’s her master. Of course she’s going to follow him. It’s the guy she’s known longer than anyone else in her life. Her master, her father figure. Why wouldn’t she follow him? Why wouldn’t she stick it out for him? And, again, don’t believe at all that it’s abandonment or even something that was planned. It seemed very spur of the moment—like an off screen decision being made in Baylan’s head. Parting from her wasn’t something on his bucket list he was waiting to check off.
Fourth, the “ambition” that Baylan said was driving Shin is her willingness (not the word im looking for please read my mind) to embrace the dark side compared to himself. If he truly wants to bring an end to the Jedi v Empire back-and-forth, he’ll stay more Gray. So, he parts from her to give her that freedom. It’s the thing that drives them apart.
There’s even more ways to try and understand why, im sure. These are just word vomits and nothing to be taken as truth.
While I don’t at all believe Baylan’s intention was to abandon her, leave her for dead, etc, I definitely agree that Shin does feel abandoned.
Was the decision easy for Baylan? Highly doubt it. I don’t think he would watch her go, take a deep breath in, and roll his shoulders if it was easy. I don’t think he’d look around after Ahsoka stole his howler and debate going back for her if it was an easy decision. I don’t think he’d wait on the hill to keep watch and protect from a distance if he didn’t care.
I think one thing is for sure. Baylan thinks he’s doing what’s best when it’s really not. Shin looked like a kicked dog when Ahsoka offered to help—and whether that’s because she was reminded of 30 minutes prior on the hill beside him, or 15 years prior when Baylan stood above her and offered his help that started them on their journey (yari put this thought in my noggin), it hurts all the same.
I just hope the finale clears something up

Okay. The stars might be aligning today. Something might be working out in my favor and, perhaps, I can finally bring y'all in on. the absolute shenanigans that have finally taken shape between Alucren and Tyr.
Tumblr media
Incredibly strong urge to ID him as 'the bastard man in question,' but. look, he is. I wouldn't exactly be wrong.
Anyway, in an attempt to be brief, Alucren is recruited to Imperial Intelligence when the class story's already kicked off. He's maybe three years older than Tyr and I need to establish now that that does not mean he's the older sibling. This will make sense in a minute. Perhaps.
So, he's designated Cipher Eleven and, largely, he knows Tyr by reputation as Cipher Nine, but they don't. really interact directly until they're some of the limited survivors of ImpIntel's fallout and Alucren becomes Tyr's Class-A Nuisance in Sith Intelligence. Eleven fucks with Nine because somebody's gotta see the guy loosen up, he argues. Which is hilarious because out of the two of them, Alucren is the one with the largely unbending loyalty to the Empire and the Sith.
[Everyone be thankful he wasn't the main subject of the Imperial Agent storyline. I don't think he'd survive the winter. Definitely not with his pretty aviator sunglasses in-tact about the galaxy and how it works, at least.]
The code I've cracked about this is that it is a largely one-sided mess fueled mostly by a lot of insecurities on Alucren's part. He's the only son of four children, and as loving as that family set up was, he still feels a responsibility to his family's name and legacy [and they have quite a long one in service to Imperial domestic interests; sidebar, Alucren's kind of a walking encyclopedia of Imperial history because of this. Let him take you on a museum date and tell you historical fun facts. Enrichment!]
And Nine has a whopping reputation as being one of the best Ciphers Imperial Intelligence ever trained. Of course, Alucren isn't... in on how much that also essentially turned Tyr's life inside out and wrung it out like a dish towel, but, hey! Details! And Alucren is, in a word, stubborn. And maybe a little competitive. And not all that certain of his own position in the service.
So, what's a guy to do but develop a homoerotic, one-sided rivalry with his essentially boss given Tyr's sort of right-hand man status to Lana? It's totally straight to think, "yeah, bet if I kissed him, that'd shut him up," right? Right! According to Alucren.
[oh honey you got a big storm coming, son]
Tyr is, largely, either willfully or just blatantly kinda... not on the same page about this. At least in Sith Intelligence. Alucren's whole attitude bit is a little grating, but Tyr's a professional and. mostly can afford to set aside the inconvenience of dealing with Alucren's smartassery to get their respective jobs done.
And then, in really short summary, the plot keeps happening. Alucren may or may not develop a bit of a crush on a Sith he starts serving [a smoking hot certain Wrath of the Emperor belonging to @hyrohkaah] (congratulations on the bisexuality Alucren!!!). It takes. a while for Alucren to really sus any of this whole Deal out about himself because he's very image-oriented. He has a Presentation to maintain about himself. Luckily for him, Tyr's a perceptive little shit and. eventually also not above throwing some of his stupid shenanigans back at his face.
Ultimately, there isn't any romantic attraction between these two fools, but Alucren still likes to take Tyr's patience and control for a spin around the block for the thrills and Tyr occasionally yanks back just as hard for the amusement. Sometimes this looks a lot more like indignant siblings arguing over their LegoCity build that's taken up the basement floor and sometimes it means are they flirting or fighting and the answer is yes.
And I'm also going to say Alucren's loyalty becomes... a lot more interesting for that sort of healed relationship between him and Tyr. :3 Alucren's a man that will always call the Empire home, so he'll probably end up serving it the rest of his life. But he also knows Nine is not a man to do anything by halves, and he does nothing without extremely good reason. And it'd just be a shame if I made them confront the possibility of shooting at each other. I mean. >.>
Spoiler alert: Alucren's probably not anywhere near as certain of his ability to follow through with that threat as he'd like to be. It'd surprise both of them, honestly. But you didn't hear that from me.
Anyway. He's a bit of a loser, actually, and I love him. Insultingly and affectionately. He's just.... a little like my pathetically sopping wet greasy alley rat. Unfortunately, he's adorable. And if someone punched him, he'd probably still deserve it.
And that, my friends, is the insane Tom & Jerry shit that has consumed me in the last two weeks or so about Alucren and Tyr. I'd usually say thanks for coming to my TED Talk, but this man's ego is already the broadside of a Destroyer in size and we just don't need to encourage that.

*Holds a picture of Garmr up*
Fenrir do you know that your sister's dog, is kinda mean to Cu Sith?
Tumblr media
"I am well aware of the state of Cu Sith and Garmr's relationship. Garmr's competitive spirit causes him to primarily view other guard dogs as threats to his 'position.' "
"Garmr must realize on his own that his mindset is flawed for any growth to truly be had. If someone explains this to him directly, it will only strengthen his resolve and push him further."
Tumblr media
"I've read about that, the Backfire Effect, and it's exactly as you said; hearing that what you believe in is wrong only makes you believe in it more."
"There are ways to work against it, but Garmr is pretty stubborn, isn't he..."
Tumblr media
"Very much so. A trait of his that simultaneously serves as a great strength and weakness."

Below, see Brojah's connection and depths with Anakin, who prior to the battle of Mustafar, loved Anakin and considered him one of his closest friends and allies.
Brojah’s feelings for Anakin before Mustafar were deeply rooted in a relationship of brotherhood, forged through shared struggles, triumphs, and vulnerabilities. This bond grew over years, starting in the Jedi Temple and culminating in the tragic events of Revenge of the Sith. Below is an exploration of their relationship and Brojah's complex emotions.
1. The Early Days at the Temple
A Shared Path: Brojah and Anakin first connected at the Jedi Temple, drawn together by their shared status as outsiders within the rigid structure of the Jedi Order. Anakin’s late arrival to the Order and Brojah’s questioning nature often made them feel like they didn’t quite fit in.
Mutual Understanding: Anakin’s frustrations with the Jedi Council resonated with Brojah, who often felt that the Order’s dogma stifled individual growth. They bonded over these shared grievances, developing an unspoken understanding of each other’s struggles.
Brotherhood in Training: Their sparring sessions were a cornerstone of their bond. Whether it was lightsaber practice or Force exercises, they pushed each other to be better, often joking and laughing amidst the competition. Anakin’s raw talent paired with Brojah’s strategic mind made them a formidable team, and their mutual respect deepened through these moments.
2. The Clone Wars: Trials of Fire
A Partnership in Battle: The war strengthened their brotherhood. Fighting side by side on countless battlefields, Brojah became Anakin’s steadfast ally, often serving as his sounding board during moments of doubt. Anakin’s reckless bravery and Brojah’s cautious pragmatism complemented each other, creating a dynamic partnership.
Shared Vulnerabilities: During quiet moments between missions, Anakin confided in Brojah about his fears and frustrations—his longing for freedom from the expectations placed on him and his deep love for Padmé. Brojah, in turn, shared his own doubts about the Jedi Order’s role in the war and his fear of losing himself in the chaos.
Acts of Loyalty: Brojah’s loyalty to Anakin was unwavering. On more than one occasion, he put himself in danger to protect Anakin, whether it was deflecting blaster fire in the heat of battle or diplomatically easing tensions when Anakin’s temper flared during council meetings.
3. Love and Frustration
Admiration for Anakin: Brojah loved Anakin like a brother, often marveling at his incredible talent and his ability to inspire others. Anakin’s charisma and determination were qualities Brojah deeply respected, even as he sometimes felt overshadowed by them.
Frustration with Recklessness: Despite his admiration, Brojah often felt frustration with Anakin’s impulsiveness. He worried that Anakin’s emotional intensity and refusal to follow rules would one day lead to disaster. These fears were exacerbated by Anakin’s growing closeness to Palpatine, which Brojah viewed with increasing suspicion.
Conflict Over Padmé: Brojah knew about Anakin’s forbidden relationship with Padmé, and while he understood the depth of their love, he also worried about the consequences. His own growing feelings for Padmé added another layer of complexity, as he wrestled with guilt and the fear of betraying his brother.
4. The Breaking Point
Shadows of the Dark Side: As Anakin’s behavior grew more erratic, Brojah became increasingly alarmed. He noticed Anakin’s bursts of anger, his distrust of the Jedi Council, and his dependence on Palpatine’s guidance. Brojah tried to confront him gently, offering advice and support, but Anakin often brushed him off.
Attempts to Reconnect: Brojah made several attempts to bring Anakin back to himself, arranging quiet moments where they could talk away from the pressures of war. During these moments, Brojah would remind Anakin of their shared dreams and values, hoping to reignite the light within him. But Anakin’s responses grew colder, his focus consumed by his fears and ambitions.
The Rift Deepens: Anakin’s growing secrecy and refusal to confide in Brojah created a rift between them. Brojah felt the weight of his own failure to reach his brother, haunted by the belief that he could have done more to prevent Anakin’s descent.
5. Complex Love and Betrayal
Unconditional Love: Despite everything, Brojah’s love for Anakin never wavered. He saw the best parts of Anakin—the boy who dreamed of freeing slaves, the man who fought tirelessly to protect the innocent, and the friend who had been his family when the Jedi Order felt cold and distant.
Painful Realization: By the time of Revenge of the Sith, Brojah began to accept that the Anakin he knew might already be gone. This realization tore at him, leaving him grappling with grief even before their final confrontation.
The Conflict on Mustafar: The duel on Mustafar was not just a physical battle—it was the culmination of their emotional journey. Brojah fought with the hope of saving his brother but was devastated by Anakin’s unrelenting rage and refusal to turn back.

Fluffy February 2023 Recap
Mission success: I wrote something every day!  Some of it was short, some of it was elaborate.  Main link to the AO3 collection will be in the reblog later today.
1.  Hello  -- Theron Shan notices something strange going on at base (with hideous fanart!)
2.  Soft -- Theron snuggles with Eva Corolastor (smuggler oc) early in the morning, before he has to go...
3.  Anniversary -- Jace Malcom, a stickler for etiquette, arrives with an appropriate first anniversary present for Eva (and Theron).
4. Starlight -- After finding Nok Drayen’s treasure, Eva takes Corso Riggs, Risha Drayen, and Bowdaar somewhere special to celebrate.
5. Amber -- Arcann seeks redemption in the form of Darth Marr’s lightsaber, with the help of Talos Drellik.  I’ve already decided I’m going to re-edit this for a larger work in the indeterminate future.  Cameo by Ramesses (Sith Warrior OC)
6.  Stretch -- Jace watches Satele Shan walk through her lightsaber katas as he drafts a critical sales pitch.
7. Cloak -- Jace deals with the crisis of the day, thanks to his brother, Kal Malcom.  I’m mentioned Kal in the past, but this is his first appearance as a character.  Let’s just say he’s different from his big brother.
8.  Callous -- Eva and Theron spend time together at the firing range.
9.  Breezy -- Rass Ordo talks with Torian Cadera and thinks about Mandalorians in love.  Then he meets Fria Whitcord (consular OC).
10.  Thunder -- Athene Corolastor tends to Eva during her first thunderstorm.  Athene has been illusive as a narrative voice until now.  Instead of the ethereal, light figure she looks like, she’s definitely coming out with a harder edge than I anticipated.
11.  Immaculate -- Arcann goes to see his mother Senya Tirall for an important appointment.
12.  Shell -- Eva goes on her first mission with Theron after the carbonite freeze.  This is a heist fic, with background bickering from Lana Beniko and Koth Vortena.
13.  Pride -- As he holds their son Argento (Argo for short), Theron talks to Eva about the pitfalls of parental pride.  This does have some sad feels in there, but everyone is safe and happy here.
14.  Free Space:  Heartbeat -- Theron goes on his first mission since Ziost, guided through the guts of Zakuul by Marcus Trant.  He takes a detour to visit someone.  This is the long one of the bunch, at 1800+ words.
15.  Reward -- Things weren’t always bad with Darmas Pollaran.  A brief look at the beginning of the relationship between Eva and Darmas, right after Balmorra in Chapter 2.
16.  Glow -- A fluffy, slightly risque fic on Copero with Eva and Theron: they have plans.
17.  Blessed -- Corso gets to know Guss Tuno shortly after Hoth.
18.  Glide -- Theron races in his first swoop competition in front of Jace, a fellow former swooper.
19.  Loop -- Eva, Corso, and Hylo the cat arrive on Coruscant for the first time.
20.   Sink -- The state of a sink and the surrounding environs can reveal a lot about a person.  This seems to have been a favorite with readers. :)
21.   Tender -- For once, Lana gets hurt, and her friends are there for her.
22.  Remember -- Eva experiences her first “Eternal Fleet Remembrance Day” with Theron.
23.  Crave -- Aric Jorgan catches Theron at the cantina at 0300, due to unforeseen happy circumstances.  This one has some CWs at the top.
24.  Bubbly -- Day 2 of the ‘official’ Jace Malcom/Satele Shan relationship on Alderaan.
25.  Murmur -- Theron is greeted by Eva and their daughter, Dyominia, after an unexpected mission gone wrong.
26.  Joy -- Joy is a noisy house, according to Jace Malcom.  Cameo appearances by Kal, Theron, Eva, Argo, and Dyo.
27.  Blaze -- They who shoot together, stay together.  Or at least that’s Akaavi’s advice to Eva and Theron.
28.  Goodbye -- the silly-ass bordering-on-crackfic sequel to #5, starring Arcann, Koth, and Talos.

i have ummm i have reworked commander lock yet again. born on kamino as a command class trooper, cc-1064, Lock, was among the first command generation, personally trained by alpha class troopers such as alpha-17; pre-war his first assignment was kamino security/kamino guard, where he began to formulate some pretty strong opinions about the war.
in the first year of the clone war he was assigned as the clone commander of fortuna company under general Leonie Luroon, a freshly knighted 17 year old twi'lek Jedi researcher, among the youngest ever knighted. the naturally protective and sternly kind Lock took on a sort of paternal relationship to her despite the fact she was his superior officer; the pacifist, gentle Leonie took well to Lock's guidance.
Leonie's battalion worked in unison with another small battalion, that of her previous Master, Bernardeau Namya. Bernardeau was a charming, intelligent, competitive, devoted, and funny Jedi Master who had previously spent his life as a créchemaster, and who, upon meeting Lock, fell swiftly and surely head over heels for him. The two began a rapid, intense relationship, and were secretly married four months into knowing one another. Lock and Bernie both regarded Leonie like a daughter.
then, one fateful day, while venturing into an ancient sith temple on Felucia to investigate, something terrible happened. lock cannot remember these events with any clarity, but he knows this to be true; Leonie and all of the other men never emerged from that place. Lock, having lost his left leg at the thigh within and having suffered considerable psychological trauma, was reassigned and sent back to Kamino. he took with him the only object he came out of that cave with besides his armor; a sith Holocron which he misidentified as an unusual but intriguing audio recording device.
lock always had an interest in puzzles and riddles- thus, his name- and began speaking to the holocron at night, telling it all his thoughts, feelings, fears, and hopes. this unintentionally imbued the holocron with the essence of his soul. he did not notice this...
anyways, in his placement as commander of draw company, aka kamino guard/kamino security forces, lock drastically altered the way the guard functioned. he allowed them to paint their armor blue, like the ocean, rather than the drab gray assigned to them by the kaminoans; he cared attentively for the babies, cadets, and shinies in tipoca city, and gave leeway to the guard in their otherwise strict and unforgiving life.
Bernardeau still came to see his husband on Kamino whenever he could, returning for supply runs, medical care, and new soldier rotations. They grieved their mutual loss together and, despite the earth shattering heartbreak they both endured, managed to get to know each other in new ways and connect over their loss. They were deeply in love and very committed to one another. Lock kept this relationship secret from everyone, even his beloved guard.
the guard is tasked with some of the worst challenges; they get to see their little siblings grow up, but they are also tasked to take them to their deaths, their reconditioning, their mysterious disappearances. how do you love your siblings knowing you're the one who enforces their control, manipulation? you're the eyes in the panopticon?
Lock wanted to go back to Kamino because he tired of war: he didn't want to watch all the violence and pain anymore. he didn't want to serve under a different Jedi general, either- he constantly kept up hope that his dear Leonie might return. it felt like a betrayal to replace her.
so he served instead the strange gathering of misfits that made up the guard, all people deemed unworthy of active service or who were drawn back from it. Lock found in this a small opportunity to save a few lives; he was stern and serious, known to be a bit of a hard-ass, but only because he understood the consequences of failing, making a mistake, as a clone.
locks favorite pastime is, on his guard duty outside of the baby clones nursery room, going in at night and secretly holding and talking to his younger siblings. he always found it sad, so very sad, that no one ever held or spoke to him and his peers.
when Kamino was destroyed and sank into the sea, Lock died with it. His soul, however, lived on inside of the holocron he found.. immortal, carried to safety by the surviving kamino guards, until he- within his holocron- eventually came into the possession of the rebels. he's a funny little, deeply grumpy magic 8-ball ❤️

obi-wan wasn’t present during the separation of anakin from his mother in the phantom menace. that choice was made by qui-gon jinn, who tried to free both but was only allowed to take anakin. obi-wan didn’t meet anakin until after that decision was made and took him on as a padawan not out of eagerness, but to honor qui-gon’s dying wish. to suggest he stood by and did nothing is simply incorrect.
obi-wan repeatedly expresses concern about palpatine’s relationship with anakin. he voices it to the council and warns anakin directly in revenge of the sith. but palpatine held immense political power, and his mentorship of anakin was legitimized by the senate. blaming obi-wan for failing to block that influence ignores the political reality of the republic and the council’s own missteps.
in attack of the clones, obi-wan and anakin have a strained dynamic, yes, but obi-wan’s guidance is often misread as coldness. he is firm, sometimes critical, but he’s also protective, loyal, and tries to steer anakin away from dangerous impulses. anakin, despite being nineteen, was already reckless and prone to anger. obi-wan’s frustration wasn’t abuse, it was responsibility.
the argument that anakin was never jealous of obi-wan overlooks key dialogue and tone throughout attack of the clones. anakin tells padmé that obi-wan “is holding me back” and resents his perceived authority. jealousy here isn’t about competition, it’s emotional. anakin wants independence, respect, and affirmation, and often feels denied all three. that resentment only grows when the council refuses to promote him in revenge of the sith, and palpatine feeds off it.
the accusation that obi-wan is not a good jedi because he didn’t free enslaved people misrepresents the jedi’s political role. the order wasn’t authorized to intervene in systems outside the republic, including tatooine. even qui-gon couldn’t free shmi. obi-wan’s lack of action here reflects the failure of the republic itself, not personal moral indifference.
i respect your interpretation, everyone reads these characters through their own lens. i intended to explore their relationship more deeply and understand how it unraveled. at the end of the day, this is fiction.
stop blaming obi-wan kenobi for anakin skywalker’s fall: understanding accountability in complex relationships
Tumblr media
there’s something that’s been frustrating me for a long time about the way we talk about obi-wan kenobi and anakin skywalker, especially in online discourse. namely, the persistent idea that obi-wan is in some way responsible for anakin’s turn to the dark side, that by not stopping him, not being “enough,” not seeing the signs, obi-wan enabled his fall and thus shares the blame for darth vader’s birth. i want to unpack why this reading is not just flawed in terms of character analysis and canon, but also why it echoes real-world patterns of excusing destructive behavior by blaming the people around it.
at its core, this idea that obi-wan “failed” anakin is harmful, because it echoes the logic we use to guilt victims and survivors of emotionally abusive or manipulative relationships. obi-wan and anakin were not equals in their emotional dynamic. they were master and apprentice, yes, but the power imbalance went both ways, anakin, who had been told since childhood that he was the “chosen one,” carried a narcissistic streak that grew as he did. he was entitled, he was possessive, and he struggled to take responsibility for his own emotions or decisions. obi-wan, for his part, was patient, cautious, deeply dutiful, and often emotionally reserved, but never malicious or neglectful.
and yet, people argue that obi-wan “let” anakin fall. that he “should have known.” but here’s the truth, anakin’s descent was not caused by a lack of love or oversight. it was caused by anakin’s choices. obi-wan didn’t plant the seeds of jealousy, fear, or violence in him. palpatine did. anakin’s attachment issues did. the jedi order’s flawed dogma did. but obi-wan? he spent his life trying to guide him, trying to connect with him, trying to save him. and in the end, he blamed himself when it all fell apart.
and that’s one of the most painfully real things about obi-wan kenobi’s character, he internalizes the blame for something he never caused. that’s what emotionally manipulative dynamics do. they make the people who gave everything feel like it was never enough. they convince the loyal ones that they failed. it is not only inaccurate to say obi-wan is to blame, it is cruel.
some people argue that because obi-wan stayed by anakin’s side, didn’t report him, didn’t force him to change, that he is somehow complicit. but that logic is flawed. we cannot hold people responsible for the actions of those who ultimately betray them. we cannot expect a friend, a mentor, or even a brother to save someone who refuses to be saved. the idea that someone like obi-wan should have known, should have stopped it, is a harmful narrative we often apply to people who’ve survived toxic relationships in real life, “why didn’t you leave?” “why didn’t you stop them?” “why didn’t you see it coming?” as if foresight could rewrite fate. as if love alone could fix someone bent on self-destruction.
and it’s not just about emotional abuse, it’s also about envy. anakin was jealous of obi-wan. from attack of the clones to revenge of the sith. he felt like obi-wan was the jedi ideal, respected, composed, everything anakin was told to be but could never fully become. and anakin hated that, even as he craved obi-wan’s approval. it’s a toxic cycle. it’s also worth saying that obi-wan clearly loved anakin, in his own way. he told him he was like a brother. he fought for him again and again. and anakin still turned on him.
did anakin care for obi-wan? at some point, yes. but did he deserve him? no. and that’s the heart of this. anakin skywalker did not deserve obi-wan kenobi. and no amount of tragedy or pain can make that untrue. obi-wan didn’t betray anakin. anakin betrayed obi-wan.
now, this doesn’t mean we have to hate anakin. i don’t. i think he’s fascinating. i think he’s one of the most layered characters in the franchise. but i also think we need to stop treating that complexity like an excuse. just because a character is compelling doesn’t mean we should defend their actions. i love watching director krennic and darth maul. i find them compelling, tragic, interesting. but i would never justify what they did. and the same should be true for anakin skywalker.

Ahsoka and Maul
Rebels!Maul and Rebels!Ahsoka were utterly unsurprised at running into each other randomly on a derelict Sith super-weapon in the middle of galactic-no-where, which implies that their escape during Order 66 was not the last time they had seen each other. I posit that in the fifteen years offscreen, their relationship evolved from a traditional Sith-Jedi adversarial competition to a Jake Peralta-Doug Judy antagonistic friendship where they had to grudgingly team-up to take down a bigger threat about once a year. I’m not saying they ever slept together, but Maul is a bottom.

I think this is either 12 or 13 of shitty headcanons, but I’ve had a few so let’s go lads!
-Cobb Vanth holds the Outer Rim mechanical bull record.
-Thrawn has a shirt that says “Once you go Mitth, you’ll never go sith” and it’s his most prized possession. Eli has a love hate relationship with it because it’s super comfy but good god why is Thrawn like this?!
-He tries to play it cool, but Obi-Wan has really bad separation anxiety, even more so post-Satine.
-I honestly can’t explain it but I feel like every single thought in Kallus’s head is a quote by Salem the cat from 90’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
-Kit Fisto owns Mambo no. 5 on karaoke night.
-Wolffe has a tennis ball that he just plays catch with when he’s stressed. He is horrifyingly accurate with it, as Cody learned when he dropped a bunch of paperwork off and ran on a particularly bad day. His helmet still has a dent in it.
-Anakin formed attachments to animals when he was small, so Obi-Wan literally went from an apartment full of plants to an apartment full of pets. When he eventually moved so Ahsoka and Anakin could live together, he got a Tooka and a Cactus so it felt like home.
-Cody wanders around in rugby shorts one time because his legs wrapped after an injury and it’s comfier, and everyone just melts because his thighs are godly. The other clones get competitive and keep walking round in shorts to prove they have big thighs too. Alpha-17 won, much to the benefit of Shaak-Ti’s wallet and to Obi-Wan’s chagrin.
-Jango Fett sang The Real Slim Shady at karaoke and the clones lost their minds in a good way.
-Anakin once overheard Obi-Wan talking to Kit and Quinlan about Qui-Gon’s ho-ish tendencies, and became convinced that Qui-Gon was his real dad. Obi-Wan was very stressed when he had to explain that that was not the case.
-Padme and Satine bonded over their hatred for padawan haircuts. And their Jedi. Said Jedi pretend they haven’t been drunk called by the pair and roasted.
-Thrawn has a pet ysalamir and she nearly gave Ar’alani a heart attack when she crawled into the Admirals bed. As much as she, Faro and Thrass try, they can’t prove Thrawn put the space lizard there. Thrawn totally put the lizard there.
It’s been a while, but enjoy the chaos pals n gals!

Howlite: 👃🦴🚲
Athenyia: 👀😍👙
Eko: 💞🔥💐
Piping Hot OC asks which I'll be continuing to answer all night!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(^ howlite, athenyia, and eko, from left to right. eko is mixed sith pureblood/twi'lek. note to self, get another screenshot with athenyia's updated hair.)
Howlite
👃 : Does your OC smell good? Do they have a signature scent?
I imagine he smells like warm spices, mushrooms, and this very specific smell I associate with oil in a hot wok. (I'm not sure if it's the smell of the breath of the wok, or the hot oil, or both...)
He has a homey smell, if you've lived in a chinese kitchen half your life. It's the smell of a family waiting for you to join them at the table. It's comforting, inviting.
🚲 : Does your OC enjoy playing the field? Or are they more monogamy-minded?
While he certainly doesn't mind polygamy, he simply chooses to be devoted to whoever his partner(s) are at the time. When he dates, he will want to date a person(s) with the intent that he's looking for long term relationships and long term relationships only. If his partner(s) want to open up a relationship, he doesn't mind, though it's likely he will not pursue anyone else at that time.
🦴 : Does your OC have much sexual experience? What are they like?
Sorta as a result of the above, while he has experience he doesn't... have a diverse portfolio, shall we say. lol. But what he does know, he's good at. And while he may start of pretty vanilla, he's more than happy to try other things -- just take it slowly.
Athenyia
👀 : Does your OC believe they are attractive? Do they use that to their advantage?
HAH no. If you told her she was pretty she'd look at you like you asked what the spanish word for quesadilla was: Like you're a fucking idiot. She's got scars for days and cybernetics covering half her face, what the hell is attractive about that???
That said, she still does like colorful makeup, but mostly cuz she just likes the colors rather than anything else.
😍 : What does your OC find irresistible in others?
Cheekbones and well defined muscles. She likes watching how muscles flex and move under the skin, she likes studying them. How the light bounces off the skin, how tendons stretch and muscles relax… (Kind of like how she'll watch prey animals and find them fun to watch when she's on a hunting trip...)
👙 : What kind of underwear do they use? Is it pretty or functional?
It is unbearably practical. Part of it is that it's hard to find pretty underwear for fat bodies and part of it is that she doesn't know how to care for pretty lacy things. While she can be careful, she's not a gentle person, and would hate to rip something beautiful.
That said, I think that if she'd ever admit it, she'd like a nice set of basic lacy lingerie... but only if she didn't have to be the one to worry about making sure it stays lingerie and not turn into a pile of shredded fabric.
Eko
💞 : Do they treat sex casually or do they view it as something with a lot of emotional weight?
Oh he's so fucking casual about it. That said, it's hard to get in his pants (or skirt or dress) in the first place so good luck :']
🔥 : What’s a surefire way to make your OC get flustered?
Being better than him at something he likes. Like dancing. It's how Junba wooed him in the first place lol. That said, he can be pretty competitive so Eko would learn how to become a better dancer out of spite... There's a lot of 'anything you can do, I can do better' in Junba and Eko's relationship and the amount of competition between them has honestly just become part of their courtship rituals lmao.
💐 : What is their courting style? How would they woo someone?
I mean frankly, Eko just has to show interest in someone to woo them. Assuming that person is into short pretty boy twinks that is. He can be as picky as he wants when dating someone, pretty much.
