i was inspired by mochihanfu's Chinese historical-influenced lookbooks on instagram/youtube and wanted to see if i could recreate some of their outfits in the sims — so here is xiaoyu cai (she/they), san myshuno resident who loves to incorporate historical garments into their everyday outfits!

I'm definitely not an expert on (Chinese) historical fashion but I tried my best to find fitting pieces (though outfit 17's skirt is not a Chinese garment and traditionally, you wouldn't wear a qipao/cheongsam with trousers under it, it reminded me of some of the styles i saw in the videos). particularly @marsmerizing-sims, @sixcirclescc @zeussim @joliebean & @serenity-cc had perfect cc for this, so big thank you <3

In Bloom: Mini-Regency Set

Hi, I have a miniset for you all which I've called ✨In Bloom✨, why you may ask? Because I couldn't think of any other name and my nirvana playlist was playing while making this...now proceeding to what you shall get:

You will be getting an Adult Female early 1820s formal/party dress, which was the first piece of cc I ever made last summer. I said I wasn't going to release it, however I've changed my mind. I used @peebsplays Sophia Dress, @gilded-ghosts Fanny dress, and some bows from @miikocc to make it. Here is the dress I was inspired by when making it from 1820, (It doesn't look like it but it that much was my first project sooo)

I'm sorry it only has 9 swatches and I can't seem to find the PSD I had for it. Otherwise, it's functioning and works for all body types.

Secondly, you will be getting a child regency dress, which is just a mesh edit of @peebsplays Caroline dress, and then I stuck my edited variation of @linzlu's Kirsten pantalettes onto it. Works for all body types and has 30 swatches.

Third, which is my favorite thing, child ringlets! I have struggled for the past few months trying to make accurate ringlets and I finally did it the other night. I used @the-melancholy-maiden's Caroline hair as a base, then used ringlets from @sixcirclescc's Serena Hair to paste and mirror around it. These ringlets are 18k poly, which is a bit high. Here is the little girl I was inspired by to make these ringlets, her name was either Pauline or Clementine so the ringlets are named Clementine Pauline. All natural swatches, minus the grays and salt and peppers because it's a child's hair.

I said they're regency for the sake of it but they can literally work for the vast majority of the 19th century, at least for the first and middle part of it.

🌸 Unique "TagValueNumbers" - Part 1 🎁 For my "CAS Filters" mod! (Patreon)

Tumblr appears to have a limit for how many users I can @ in a post, but I would like to @ everyone on Tumblr when I create filters for them, as a way to notify you about what I'm doing and so simmers who see this post can find you easily.

I might come off as an egomaniacal arsehole at times (always for good reason), but it's because I care about our community.

I opted to not re-blog the Tumblr OP linked above because it is subject to lots of changes and Tumblr doesn't update the "preview" of re-blogged posts, HOWEVER, you're more than welcomed to re-blog the Tumblr OP and/or this post.

🌸 A UNIQUE 9-DIGIT "ID" FOR EVERYONE:

The 9-digit numbers following your name are to be used in the "TagValueNumber" field for the "SpecialContent" TAG.

Each 9-digit "ID" is unique to the creator it was made for - it is based on your creator name. I made them using a slightly convoluted system I devised in order to ensure that every "ID" is unique and that the filter list in CAS maintains some semblance of alphabetical order. These "numbers"IDs" can potentially be used for other things, but we'll get to that later.

🎓 HOW IT DO, PIKACHU:

If you're well-versed in creating or modifying CAS content, all you need to do is add a new TAG to your swatches - you can do just the first swatch, but you should do all swatches - and change the "CategoryNumber" to "127" (without the quotes), and change the "TagValueNumber" to the desired 9-digit "ID".

For everyone else who is new to this, there are detailed instructions in the form of easy to follow screenshots attached to the Tumblr OP and the Patreon OP, with further text-based instructions in the Patreon OP.

Individual JSON files for Sims 4 Studio for each filter TAG are also available, to make the process of adding these TAGS easier.

This design draws from the curved-front robe (Quju 曲裾) of China's Qin and Han dynasties, featuring a flattering fishtail hem that enhances the silhouette while preserving classical elegance. Note: Not a strict historical reproduction, incorporating some contemporary interpretations.

♥ Inspired by @ hirumashadow, I've come to realize that clothing can convey cultural significance beyond just design presentation. Moving forward, I will incorporate more contextual descriptions about these cultural aspects. Additionally, the visual identity has been updated for better alignment.
