born and raised in san francisco to luciana and dominick portinelli, freddy was the middle child out of the three portinelli children. this was hard on him, always being compared to his siblings, freddy was never as impressive or as smart as his older brother but he was also wasn’t as sweet and endearing as his younger sister. 

from a young age, freddy already felt like the black sheep of the family. there was a lot of pressure on him to follow in his older brother’s footsteps and become succesful just like him. but growing up freddy didn’t really pay much attention to his studies. he was your typical jock in high school, charming, popular, class clown and even though he was actually pretty smart, particularly in english and social, freddy never really applied himself in school.

this continued up until college, with freddy just kinda floating aimlessly throughout his schooling years, yanno ?? it’s honestly a miracle he graduated w a bachelor’s in arts like im ... but of course he :// didnt rlly do anything with it for the first couple of years. but he was quick to move out of his parents house, moving all the way to los angeles as lowkey a way to get away from them. he worked odd jobs, mostly minimum wage, whatever he could get his hands on really.

it wasn’t until he was offered a job coaching a high school basketball team did he realize ?? wow i ?? like doing this ?? so freddy yanno looked into it and eventually put himself through school to become a teacher !! he started off with elementary, before upgrading to become a professor in sociology. he was always interested in politics but not like that, if that makes sense. his father who was the mayor of san francisco at one point wanted his son to go into politics just like him ?? and even though freddy liked the subject.. he kinda averted from it just because it’s exactly what his father wanted ssdkfkdkf

but anyways, he really likes all that analyzing human behaviour, borderline psychology stuff. and like... freddy says dumb shit all the time n people think he dumb but he actually :// pretty smart ion kno shit got me pressed

he taught at usc for a while where he actually got in a relationship w one of his students, jordyn birnbaum but like naturally tht shit was a hot mess....... and they ended it kinda amicably but freddy still felt pretty.. shitty about it so he quit and applied to work at occidental college which is a liberal arts college so !! shits lit !!
