why do you ship kunikidazai?

*searches brain for a reason I haven’t already told you* uhhhhhh……

I think part of it is I want there to be some sort of meaningful relationship between the two of them. It’s just that they make such a great duo but it hurts me knowing how dense Kunikida can be and how perceptive Dazai is. Like, Dazai absolutely knows so much more about Kunikida than he lets on, but Kunikida...doesn’t know much about Dazai, I think. But even just as friends, I want them to be on the same page and I want Kunikida to put the effort into really getting to know Dazai and I want Dazai to realize that somebody with such firm ideals like Kunikida thinks he’s worth his time and effort and hnnngg

I also think Dazai would be good for Kunikida? Kunikida absolutely can not end up with someone who fits all of his ideals or else he’ll hold them to those ridiculously high standards and that’s not healthy for any relationship. Dazai does not fit any of his ideals at all, which is why he’s so great! Dazai is messy, disorganized, seemingly unmotivated, not a woman....and, to top it all of, he’s not even guided by a moral code, it seems. While confusing at first, I want this to be the driving force behind Kunikida realizing that there’s more than one way to be good. 

Dazai is good, isn’t he? Or at least, he’s trying, and sometimes that’s all you can do. I just feel like Kunikida having this disaster of a person who, on top of everything, has one of the bloodiest track records imaginable but is still the one who comforts him when he can’t save everybody on a mission, and who he always wakes up to him cuddled up to his side...that’s just what I want. That’s good food. They’re good boyfriends. Did I even answer your question?

How did you start shipping dazatsu?

Ok, fun story time! I’ve been in the bsd fandom since like late 2016/early 2017, back when I was still on wattpad. I had gone through my AOT phase and was looking for something else to watch when one of the people I followed started a bsd reading list. So, I checked the show out, liked it, and searched around for fics.

At this point, I was just branching out of x readers, so I didn’t know how to navigate my way around ships. I also started looking for fics only a few episodes in, so I didn’t even know much about Chuuya or Akutagawa (so I wasn’t really feeling s/skk because I barely knew the other halves of them.) Then I found a dazatsu fic, and it stole my young naive heart.

However, I dropped the series when school got busy and didn’t pick it up for like....a year and a half. Then I re-binged it, got obsessed, started this blog, saw dazatsu fanart, remembered all the fics I read on wattpad, and a little while later here we are!

It was pure accident.

Yawning tiredly, Chuuya rubbed her eyes, the large sleeves of the shirt sliding down her slim, bare arms, revealing those unmarred skin of hers unlike her counterpart and lover who has yet to return home. It was almost 11 pm and the brunette had yet to return home to their humble abode of white, black and pastel. Their black couch was cold, lacking the heat of the warm maiden whose beautiful dark-brown eyes warmed even the coldest of hearts.

Besides, if she can wait four years, what does waiting a little longer mean to her?

The television flashed, lights dimming and brightening every so often as reruns of the drama series ran passed pass the screen once more. It was getting ridiculous; everyone who watched it would be turned off by watching it constantly, without stop, almost like her love life with her wonderful brunette but that was irrelevant because unlike the drama series of constant break ups and make ups, Chuuya knew that Dazai was hers for this life and the next.

With that thought alone, Chuuya smiled, feeling energized as she sat up straighter, glancing at the ticking clock as the minute hand ticked pass the 30 minutes mark.

A click. A creak. Her beau was back, finally. Rising from her seat on the couch, Chuuya ran into the wide open arms of her gorgeous lover, her one and only Dazai.

“Welcome back.” Whispered Chuuya.

“Thank you for waiting for me, Chuu Chuu.” Smiled Dazai, gently petting the redhead’s head affectionately.

Yes. Dazai was back. Back and alive. That was the most important. Dazai was alive to see Chuuya again for more days. That was something that Chuuya only wanted and that was what she got.
