Non-Canondorf #3: Valiant Comics/Nintendo Comics System Ganon (1991)

Sleepiest baby ever, entering his nap-era. Cozy, fall asleep reading absolute junk king shit.

Not like Valiant put the absolute best comic talent to work on the Nintendo Comics System, but yeah comic book Ganon's design is very "Go girl, give us nothing!" His one defining feature is probably his 4-fingered hands lol. They do show his face once, but it's just the design from the cartoon, only drawn worse.

But don’t mistake her sleepiness for sheepishness, for behind her sleepy-eyed demeanor is a girl who can really pack a punch if she needs to!”

Description

“According to salvaged DVD footage of behind-the-scenes of Welcome Home, it was revealed that Cherie O’Cozy was created in homage to one of the writer’s daughters, who was the heavy inspiration and voice actor of Cherie in early episodes before she passed away suddenly in her sleep.

Throughout the show’s run, Cherie O’Cozy was depicted as a quiet and shy girl that mostly acted as a supporting side character in skits with the other residents during episodes, mainly to act as comic relief with her character’s sleepy conduct. But with every passing episode, Cherie’s role and personality became more prominent and outgoing as she became less and less timid, eventually starring in an episode called ‘Passion for Fashion’ which focused on Cherie O’Cozy coming out of her shell- with the help from her neighbors- and embracing her hobby of fashion design.

Cherie O’Cozy made frequent appearances on the show up until The Playfellow Workshop’s official release of the Welcome Home spinoff series, ‘Welcome Home: The After-School Show!’, after which Cherie’s presence became solely exclusive to the spinoff. The spinoff show often featured Cherie O’Cozy singing songs- mostly lullabies- and teaching kids important life lessons, one of the more popular lessons is teaching kids how to be themselves and ‘to come out of their shell’. The show’s target audience was mostly children with self-esteem issues, leading to Cherie becoming a fan favorite among many families who watched the show.”

honestly I have exhausted all my extensive Di notes during that month I posted a million comics AND I am typing this post at 1 am before queuing it so I don’t have much else to say except god I love these hand poses and his unhinged expression??? Hello! I’ve seen a lot of blogs recently have a pinned post with info about themselves and thought I should do the same. I’ve had this blog forever and if you weed through it you can find out almost anything about me but why not have it all in one place instead.

• I have three cats that are my whole life - Zero (grey tabby, menace), Rocket (blue Russian, perfect boy, very soft) and Hot Dog (orange, knows nothing, has never seen the brain cell.

• I work full time as a Crisis Case Manager at a Mental Health Crisis Unit.

• I went through a ✨spicy✨ childhood with lots of traumatic backstory and if you scroll far enough you will definitely find my thoughts of me at my worst. I’m a huge proponent of both therapy and meds. Trying to be asleep rn because I have to be up hella early in the morning, but not only is my brain not shutting off, when I was at my sleepiest it decided to hit me with a wave of sadness

So I’m gonna type out non-sad thoughts here and see if that helps:

Personally, I don’t agree with the whole “work spouse” thing when one or everyone involved has an actual spouse, like if it’s just a “oh we’re just really good friends, it’s not cheating in the slightest” then why are you using specifically romantic terminology? Why not just use the term “work bestie”? It feels emotionally unfaithful and I think Vulcans would agree with me, tbh

I’m still upset that I have to produce my own niche content 😭 please, sometimes I don’t mind but it really sucks when I’m like “I want fun alien courtship rituals” and my brain is just like “ask again later”

I have a fucking time loop story that can easily work as a small manageable writing project (as I’d only need to do a few loops), but I keep not sitting down and writing it 😭

Still working on my dino plushie, my sis just visited for a week and I had to do mandatory school stuff so it’s been a bit on the back burner but I should hopefully have time tomorrow (I have to keep an ear out for a delivery so please hope for me that the delivery comes in the morning so I can spend the rest of the day knitting and listening to horror stories pls 🙏)

I wonder if I’ll be able to do any knitting when I’m taking the buses for school? On one hand there’d be time, but on the other hand, the bus is shaky so I might end up dropping stitches, and I’d be terrified of missing my stop the entire time, hmm if I do knit it’ll probably be the really simple projects

Technically the university I go to now (not revealing the name for privacy reasons) gives us actual healthcare, and I think I’m finally able to set up appointments (trauma’s been preventing me, don’t ask pls), which means I can finally get my hands checked on to see if there’s anything they can do to help, and then maybe see what’s up with the heart stuff!!! (and maybe lungs, I feel like I’ve been losing breath over every little thing lately, kinda concerning)

Normally I feel like I think up a good amount of platonic plus romantic scenarios, but lately I feel like it’s been way more romantic stuff, I wonder why? Tbh I actually feel the most consistently okay with being single than I have ever, like the thought of 0 relationships so I can focus on university and hopefully getting a job (god the job market sucks rn) doesn’t phase me in the slightest
