ok but does slytherin yoongi have a black cat that he'll pet while curled up on his bed in the dorms, reading up on new spells from a text book that gryffindor namjoon let him borrow? Sometimes he'll catch jimin cuddling up with his cat after coming back from class

and whenever his cat goes “missing” yoongi knows where to look: if the cat’s not in jimin’s arms somewhere around the school grounds, then it’s either getting petted by a reading namjoon on the carmin red fabric of the gryffindor common room’s velvet couch, or somewhere around the Great Hall or the kitchens getting fed treats by Seokjin

there’s some rumors that some of his fam worked for the dark lord

but that’s all bullshit

they’re just working in the ministry

they all expect yoongi to do the same

I mean this boy has grown up with such insane expectations

when you get to know him, you’ll honestly feel a bit bad

he cares about family, like sure he’s grateful for them, but the only one he truly cares for in his family of pure bred elitists is his little sister

he almost didn’t want to go to Hogwarts bc he didn’t want to leave his sister at home with his parents and be brainwashed

but of course he had to go to school

sorting hat didn’t even need to sit on his head for more than 2 seconds

it’s like how malfoy was sorted in the movies, the hat barely touched his head before it said

“slytherin!”

yoongi was a bit quiet his first couple years

people were insanely intimidated by him, it was just the piercing look in his eyes

but in all honesty, he’s just tired

people think he either doesn’t do anything or does every villainous thing in the world, it’s stupid

he stays up every night practicing charms and apparitions and transfiguration

he’s #1 in grades in his year (which surprises everyone for some reason)

yoongi wants to be an auror

contrary to his parents’ expectations

the first person he told was gryffindor seokjin when jin was a third year and yoongi was a second year

they’ve known each other for a year prior, yoongi helped jin with spells

jin was super supportive of it

as was the rest of the guys when they all were adopted into the friend group

he doesn’t do quidditch, but he’s not bad at flying a broom

he’s super supportive though of his quidditch playing friends (jimin, jungkook, hoseok)

yoongi’s so calm and collected

which is why people find it surprising that he and bouncy sunshine hufflepuff hoseok are like really close friends

hoseok’s the one out of the guys that usually makes yoongi get out and do something other than practicing spells and sleeping

hoseok has a little sister too so they bond over their siblings

yoongi doesn’t bat an eye at any of kook and tae’s pranks

he has such a great moral compass

some people even think he could be the minister for magic one day

but he has his heart set on becoming an auror

he’s one of the only students who can cast spells without a wand and without verbally saying spells

one of his proudest moments, personally, was sticking up for jimin and tae when some dumb slytherin bitches were picking on them

he’s always had a soft spot for lil jimin since he was sorted into slytherin

but he never really reached out until that experience

now he and jimin hang out in the slytherin common room and talk about worries or literally whatever is on their minds

but the one he does take under his wing is jungkook

yoongi sort of eventually convinced jungkook to become an auror like him

now yoongi and jungkook practice spells almost every night

loves a friendly duel

but he usually wins

he’s not that interested in dating

the only girl in his life is his lil sister

who gives him a pet puppy holly that he absolutely adores

but then a hufflepuff - in his sixth year - beat him in a duel

and he was flabbergasted

he thought they were cool then

jin was the first to realize that yoongi had a crush

hoseok was the one that actually got them together

yoongs dates throughout his work years

cut off contact with his parents bc they didn’t want him to be an auror but oops

anyway, he’s not one for a light fling

he encapsulates that slytherin “my people” kind of feel

so when he started dating, he was like

this is gonna last

super committed guy, marries his s/o the year after jungkook graduated

his s/o wasn’t an auror like him, but is super supportive of his work

yoongs is a master at catching dark wizards or witches

he and jungkook work together and end up being an unstoppable force

eases off the work load when he has a child

a beautiful baby girl

he’s absolutely smitten for her

softest people in yoongi’s life are his buds, his lil sis, his love, his baby girl, and his dog

he’s super content with his life

CHARACTER PROFILES: MIN YOONGI

Yoongi

House Slytherin

The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent,  individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps  mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others,  will adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells. Many wandmakers insist  that pine wands are able to detect, and perform best for, owners who are  destined for long lives, and I can confirm this in as much as I have never  personally known the master of a pine wand to die young. The pine wand is one  of those that is most sensitive to non-verbal magic.

Dragon

As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most  power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend  to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if  won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current  owner.The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it  will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the  three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

Yoongi is obvs a slytherin man not necessarily because of his attitude and stuff but because of his own talent and determination to succeed

God i fucking love him

But anyway

He comes from a pureblood family who has always been in slytherin

His family is pretty rich and well-known in the pureblood community so yoongi is a bit famous in school and in his house

The thing is yoongi doesn’t give a fuck about blood status and he's hated living around the pressure of his family to be a slytherin and maintain the family honor

The sorting hat doesn't have a problem sorting yoongi into slytherin though because he knows he wants to be in slytherin and it isn't just because of his family

Also he wants to somehow change that whole pure blood stigma starting from the inside out

Even if he's a slytherin yoongi doesnt do what most of his people in his house do like put down or demean muggle borns and muggles

In fact he was one of the first people to take jungkook under his wing

He's a genuinely nice person underneath all the rumors about him being uncaring

As the second oldest member in the group he takes really good care of all the maknaes and slips them snacks from honeydukes when they're not old enough to go to hogsmeade yet

But he passes it off as if it was nothing

"Yeah i just had some extra money and i happened to buy a lot of chocolate so here's some of it"

Yeah right even the maknaes know that yoongi doesn’t like sugary things so why would he even be buying chocolate in the first place

They don't mention it though and thank him a lot for it

It makes yoongi feel warm UwU

At the same time he's not afraid to point out when his friends are wrong or at fault and always reminds them that if they did something wrong they should fix it themselves

Even though he loves spoiling his maknaes (children) yoongi isn't afraid to challenge them

If they need to do homework or study yoongi won't just hand them his homework to copy

That’s partly because yoongi hates some of the other slytherins who have things just handed to them

He really believes in working hard to get the things he deserves

Even though his family is rich yoongi doesn’t like taking advantage of his wealth

His parents also expect him to do well in his studies and get a respectable job in the Ministry afterwards

But NO

YOONGI WANTS MUSIC

Yeah he still loves music in this au

Because even if it is a hogwarts au i can't imagine a universe where yoongi doesn't love music

His music life started when his mother made him take piano lessons just so he had something else to do

But he ended up loving the piano more than anything else and the success that he could possibly have with his family ties

There's no piano in hogwarts though... unless you truly know where to look

Yep. Yoongi stumbles into the room of requirement and finds a piano there and plays his heart out

He takes that more seriously than his classes

But dude he is naturally good at spellcasting, especially at defense against the dark arts

People often tease him for being good at DADA because of all the rumors about his family being involved with the Death Eaters (which is also somewhat true)

They faced his wrath and were never heard from again

Jk he just jinxed them. No lasting harm was done

Except for the fact that they know not to mess with him again

Yoongi is really good at duelling too because he's a natural at non-verbal spells

The only person who almost beat him is Hoseok

People really know not to mess with him or his friends now

Lol his friends use him to defend himself especially jungkook during his first year when people were messing with him

"If you ever try to trip me again i'm telling yoongi-hyung"

*camera cuts to yoongi cracking his knuckles in the background*

In all honesty though yoongi won't fight until like really provoked he prefers talking things out (if he's not super pissed yet though)

His friends are super impressed too by his piano skills and yoongi loves showing that off (also because his family doesn't really appreciate the fact that he's much better at piano than other things)

Also namjoon and jungkook are the first people to introduce him to hiphop and rap music

And boy once he puts on the headphones ("the music comes from here??? Why don’t we have that kind of magic??") he gets addicted to this hiphop craze and borrows their CD player more often than they use it

He even picks up on all the hiphop slang and phrases

His parents thought they couldn't understand him before but they can't understand him even more now

"Yoongi why haven't you been doing your homework over the summer."

"Nah fam I ain't crammin these words in my headspace yo i'm livin the free flow listening to my tunes today"

Lol he probs doesnt talk like that but you catch my drift

Namjoon teaches him how to rap and its wonderful yoongi becomes hella popular for it

Music really becomes his passion and yoongi decides to leave his parents once he graduates from hogwarts to pursue this life

Also he's mastered all the different rooms and passageways around hogwarts and likes to use it to his advantage to get to class early (because he always wakes up late)

He's actually shared this information with the maknaes because they always wake up late too

At the same time though yoongi knows they'll forget which passageways to take so he ends up walking them to class and being late for his own class anyway

His friends joke that yoongi is asleep throughout most of the day which is pretty true

During their study sessions you'll find him passed out on his notes when he's not helping the maknaes study

But when he's working on a difficult piano piece of composing songs he'll stay awake for 3 days straight

It really worries his friends but they love seeing him determined and passionate about something

Even though he has that reputation all of yoongi's friends would no doubt say that he's one of nicest people they've ever met

He just doesn't show it off

Like once he spotted a group of lost first year hufflepuffs and used his own patronus charm to lead them to their classroom

When jimin and hoseok heard about a "floating white swan" that led them to class, they instantly knew who the culprit was

Yoongi's "i dont give a shit" attitude doesn't apply when it comes to his friends and they know that he wants to feel appreciated too

They're the family he's never had basically and his friends know it

Thats why yoongi gets hella anxious sometimes over whether he treats his friends right

But they always always dispel this worry

Milestone celebration drabbles ➞ Slytherin!Yoongi + Hogwarts!AU + "i’m not playing (insert game) with you again, last time you almost cursed me.”

“I’m bored.”

Hearing the birds chirp in the trees and feeling the sun shine on your face on this beautiful afternoon was nice, but grew so dull, so quickly. You weren’t one to sit still and read books against a tree for more than an hour, especially not on the rare occasion your shared potions class got canceled. You almost felt bad about being glad professor Slughorn got rushed to the infirmary after tasting a first year’s attempt on a Dogbreath Potion in the morning, but it did mean you had the rest of the day to yourself. Well, yourself and-

“Yoongi, I wanna do something!” you tried to get your best friend’s attention again when he ignored you, even though you knew he’d heard you the first time, “Yoongi-”

“Then go do something, am I stopping you?” he murmured, enjoying the rays of the sun on his pale skin as he soaked in their warmth, comfortably lying on the green grass on his back with his head resting on your lap, his emerald embroidered robe casually covering him during his little outdoor nap.

“Let’s do something together!” you suggested enthusiastically, bobbing your legs up and down and forcing him to move his head from them and sit up, irritably cursing at you under his breath and tiredly ruffling his raven locks in annoyance.

“We were,” he grumbled, “you were reading a book and i was sleeping, so what is it now?”

“Let’s play Scour-”

“I’m not playing Scourgify & Seek with you again, last time you almost got me cursed,” he deadpanned. He was wide awake now, yet at the same time he looked extremely tired of your shit.

“Did not! I knew what i was doing,” you scoffed as you lied through your teeth. You’d read about a spell that could reveal all lost things as long as you had a clear image of the object in your head, which you figured could come in handy during the game. How could you have known it didn’t work on people??

“You know, for a Ravenclaw, you’re really quite the moron,” he sighed, shifting his body so he could rest his back against the wide trunk of the ancient tree to close his eyes again.

“And you’re awfully lazy to be Slytherin’s Head Boy,” you quipped, slamming your book shut with a clap that made him wince when the loud noise hit his sensitive ears.

“Ugh, you’re so annoying,” he groaned, massaging his tense temples with his fingers, “Go play with Taehyung or something.”

“I would if he wasn’t constantly swarmed by an army of girls,” you mumbled, disappointed with your friend’s lack of interest, but not surprised, “I’m not feeling like being looked at like i’m getting mentally stabbed by a horde of thirsty third years today.”

“Then either chill with me in silence or find someone else to practice your dubious spells on,” Yoongi murmured sleepily, already shutting your voice out while trying to pick up his REM sleep where he’d left it off when you rudely woke him up.

“Why in silence? What if i want to talk a little? Actually, there’s something i’ve been meaning to ask you lately but i didn’t know how, but i guess now’s as good a time as any, right? So, you and Jimin, what’s that ab-”

“Silencio!”

Your lips were still moving, but the sound seized to come out of your mouth. Yoongi watched you getting mad at him and threatening to hit him with your book when you realised what he’d done, while his arm was still stretched out, lengthened by his trembling wand pointing straight at you.

That was a close call.
