okay. i'm up to episode five now, so, by increasingly popular demand lol:
my initial thoughts about old gods of appalachia
i think it's really smart in what it relays as "appalachian horror," because this is actually what The Appalachian Gothic is supposed to give
what i mean is it's not just like the usual spoopy mythical forest/"don't investigate the noises in the woods" stuff alone. dgmw, obviously i love the urban legends
but the gothic of an area or time period needs cultural elements tied in to really make it chilling, and this does it well. it stands out in the way that it incorporates the genuine horrors of humanity in appalachia with the supernatural element everyone is drawn to about these mountains. it's very creatively done
like in the barlo, kentucky saga i am currently listening to, it's the dangerous coal mines and the near-possessed preacher turning all hellfire n brimstone at the behest of the haints. it preys (i use this word positively here) on this mix of very specific but common fears, both existential and otherwise, held by residents of the appalachian south. love it
as an aside, i love the narrator's accent because it sounds like mine :') a lifetime of code switching means mine isn't quite as strong unfortunately, but our pronunciation habits and colloquialisms are next to identical, so there manages to be this like warm and nostalgic feeling to it, too
because it's honestly so nice to hear my accent and my family's accent as a critical part of a superb story being told, and not just as a vehicle for mockery and stereotypes :')))
all in all... it is Good Shit

Hangster/sereshaw twisters au where
Jake didn’t end up flying for the navy but instead is seeking his adventure with the tornados (I’ll let you fill in his past <3)
He is known as the Tornado Wrangler because he simply Wrangles Tornadoes. And yes, he is that good.
Bradley meets Jake after quitting the navy after The Mission, the scare was a bit too great for him and he wants a bit more safety and stability.
He goes back to Virginia to his roots and gets sucked in the world of tornado taming after encountering a tornado and Jake is there to help.
First he can’t stand the man, but then he looks up his youtube and finds out he actually donates the money.
Jake still annoys him to no end but likes him more and more.
Then obviously he joins Jake in tornado wrangling, finds anything but safety and stability, Mav can’t say shit bc he’s as much of an adrenaline junkie, and Jake and Bradley fall in love after saving each other when a nasty tornado hits.
OR
After Bradley’s mom dies Mav actually talks and relays his moms wishes like an actual adult (ice definitively helped).
Bradley is upset because it feels like betrayal but ultimately understands and goes to college.
He misses the weather from Virginia, thinks cali weather is too boring and goes to study meteorology.
There he specialises in tornadoes (is that a thing you can do??) and eventually joins a tornado hunting team, once again meeting Jake.
They’re rivals now and Bradley disapproves of Jakes methods but ultimately they need each others help.
They team up and idk save the town and once again fall in love.
OR
Bradley has become a journalist travelling all over the country to report on disastrous weather.
He’s always been fascinated with tornadoes and asks to join a storm chaser to write an in-depth article.
He contacts one Jake ‘Tornado Wrangler’ Seresin, knows he has a prominent YouTube channel but doesn’t watch any of the videos or live streams.
(He really really regrets not watching it).
He quietly (and later loudly) thinks Jake is absolutely insane as he drives into a tornado with his hijacked tornado-wrangler-car and shoots fireworks into a raging tornado.
Apparently, because his fans asked if it was possible.
Bradley follows Jake doing more impossible-but-possible stunts and figures out along the way that Jake is generous (he donates the money from his YouTube channel to help people affected by tornadoes) and smart (he actually studied meteorology in college and uses very up to date science to locate and categorise tornadoes)
then of course something has to go wrong bc how would we create tension otherwise???
and Bradley realises Jake has become important to him and switches to full time tornado reporting, joins Jakes crew and falls in love with him.
Not in that exact order.
(Jake of course loves him back, and has absolutely the time of his life doing wack ass stunts and scaring Bradley in the process)
OR
Something more like the actual movie [SPOILERS]
where Goose wasn’t a navy pilot. He and Carole stay in Virginia (or Tennessee bc that’s where Goose is from)
((wait how did we accept Virginia as the state where rooster’s from? Is it bc he studied there????))
Bradley has a fascination with tornadoes from since he was young, goes to study meteorology and proposes a phd study to dissolve tornadoes after directly experiencing how it devastates cities and peoples lives.
Then one day he goes after a tornado with his friends (maybe some ppl from the daggers? Or whole new people) to try to dissolve it but his calculations are wrong and the tornado turns out much more dangerous, things go to shit and he loses three close friends.
Years later he is looked up by the other surviving friend in New York, where he works now at a weather station.
His friend convinces him to ride with his company after showing some cool new gadgets.
When following the tornadoes he meets Jake, who seemly is nothing but an adrenaline junkie who profits from mindless fans and people whose lives are ruined by the tornadoes.
Finding out his old friends company is the one preying on the people, he joins Jake (who turns out the opposite of what he thought of him. Tho he’s still annoying and wants to punch his face) and they try to revive Bradley’s phd project.
Jake fell in love the moment he saw Bradley, Bradley falls in love after the two of them successfully dissolve a tornado and save the town.
OR
From jakes pov where he’s always been obsessed with storms and weather patterns, studies meteorology, desperately wants to help people but doesn’t know how to do that with just tracking and collecting data.
Eventually makes a YouTube channel with some good people he met along the years, and using that money to buy food or make shelters.
He inevitably meets Bradley, is instantly enamoured with the (presumed) city boy who actually seems to know what he’s doing.
He can’t help but start teasing him and does his best to end up where Bradley ends up.
His team doesn’t know how to deal with it, why is Jake so distracted by this new guy????
Bradley resists his charm but eventually gets worn down.
They save each other when one day, the storm chasing turns out for the worst and Bradley falls in love with this very capable but also Stupid man, but is still hesitant.
Then Bradley has to go back to New York, and they are both too stuck on their perches and don’t say anything when Bradley has to leave.
Then one of Jakes friends is like seriously dude??? And Jake gets his shit together and runs after Bradley to declare his love before the plane leaves <3333
OR
Another one I just thought of where they both meet at college, in undergrad or at the phd programme.
Both vying for funds for their project.
They split ways after Bradley’s disastrous experiment. Bradley quitting and moving to New York. Jake ending up with the funds.
And meeting years later when Jake has become the Tornado Wrangler.
And yes once again they fall in love somewhere along the way!!!

S.A.M by "Bill" (1978). "S.A.M (Short for "Sentient, Autonomous Mechanism" or "Smart Ass Machine", depending on his (and my) mood on a given day, was one of my first real robot projects, started in 1978 when I was around 15. His "brain" was a single-board Z-80 computer (the big square object in the middle of his "back" in this picture), with many bits of TTL I/O, a couple of serial ports, a bunch of counter-timers, and several D/A & A/D channels. The base was taken from the book "How to Build a Computer Controlled Robot" by Todd Loofbourrow - I had built the robot in the book, and had used my KIM-1 to control it. Later, I decided that just a little platform was kind of boring, so I added the upper torso shown here. The torso (mounted on a "lazy-susan" turntable bearing) is rotated by a heavy-duty gear motor driving a chain and sprocket assembly from a bicycle. The base is powered by two of the (apparently no longer available, which is sad) all-metal rubber-tired "motorized wheel" assemblies that Herbach & Rademan used to sell, with a large rubber-tired caster in front. The head platform (mounted on a small "lazy-susan" bearing) was originally rotated by a surplus gearbox from a Mattel "Big Trak" with some rubber-tired wheels mounted on the output shafts. This arrangement was later replaced by a small gear-head motor driving a large gear mounted to the center of the turntable. The device in the head with the tubes sticking out the front is a directional light tracking device. Each tube has a CDS photocell at the bottom, and is painted flat black inside. A comparator circuit tells the computer which direction the brightest light is coming from. This device could also tilt up and down with a small gear-head motor, to track light sources vertically. Most of the circuitry was installed on small plug-boards from Radio Shack, mounted in a card rack below the CPU card. This rack could be tipped back 90 degrees to facilitate easier access for testing. In addition to motor driver circuits, there was a "Sweet Talker" speech synthesizer board so he could talk. Power came from a large "gel-cell" marine battery (for powering trolling motors on boats), which was slung near the ground in the center of the base. Two 6V lantern batteries (later replaced by a 12V motorcycle battery) provided separate power for the electronics. All motors were isolated from the electronics via relays and/or opto-isolators. After these pictures were taken, a set of metal panels was installed on the "facets" of the base, with lever switches behind them for collision sensing. A Polaroid sonar range-finder was also added later. If you check out the other photos of S.A.M., you will notice an "arm" sticking out the front. This was a prototype made from an old swing-arm desk lamp and some "fingers" from a robot hand design using brass tubing, bicycle chain, and 1/16" steel cable to allow natural bending of each finger. It was later replaced with a much heavier duty aluminum framework arm operated by two 12VDC linear actuators." – My Home Robot Projects, by Bill.

Pondering J Oneshot
CW Mentions of death and body horror, Standard MD stuff
J stared out. Out at the cold, barren landscape of Copper 9. She stared out, thinking. She was doing more of that lately. Especially about the past. She normally refused to think about back then. What was the point? But now, there wasn't much else to think about. Her and "Tessa" were on the down low, trying to figure out where the cabin fever labs were hidden. And she'd done enough thinking about that, about "Tessa" and her orders. "Tessa," yeah right. J knew it was Cyn, she'd known for years at this point. The horrible little thing kept her believing, hoping, praying even that Tessa was still alive and that's who J was communicating with over the relays. But eventually, as the little things added up and the contradictions complied on themselves like a pile of bounced checks, things clicked for J. She spent weeks agonizing over what she would do, even to the point where V started to get suspicious. In the end, it didn't even matter. Cyn didn't care, it only threatened to do anything if J told the others, and only because that could serve as a memory trigger. And while N had no memories of before. V had just enough to keep her loyal. She paused in her thoughts for a moment, glancing around the perimeter for any potential threats and checking her oil level. She'd need to feed in a few hours. There was only strong winds around her, blowing her hair every which way. J took a few deep breathes before going back to her thoughts. V, poor unsuspecting V. She remembered only a few things from Earth, mainly their time as worker drones and Cyn's "promise," honestly it was a lot more of a threat. But all V focused on was making sure things didn't get worse. N didn't know anything, of course, the idiot would just try to find some stupid way of fixing things that would only cost them time and Cyn's patience. J would know, after all. This was the second exo-planet they had been sent too, the first being somewhat of a test run for Cyn to train her little puppets. Both N and V had near equal memories of earth, minus the killing Cyn had them do when it destroyed the planet. It was a relatively barren planet when they got there, having been one of the first planets and mined almost entirely bare. Full of older drone models too. Programed, like almost all drones, with little sense of self-preservation. It was easy to take out almost all of them, as well as the few humans there that were managing the drones. However, the memories soon started to get to the other two. N became somewhat obsessive with getting back to Earth, wanting to help save Tessa and defeat Cyn. Still naive and stupid as ever. V backed him up on that, surprisingly, but was smart enough to agree that they should at least pretend to follow orders. J rolled her eyes at their plan, but a seed of hope remained that she couldn't quite kill. Cyn, however, found out, turned out the thing was able to listen in on them while they talked. It took control of N and broke his body open from the inside as the Cyn-controlled core forced it's way out, using the material of his corpse to create the an eldritch monster. It forced J to watch as it killed V. Saying that the she should see what happens when the job isn't done right. J still saw those memories whenever she went to sleep. Maybe it was Cyn, maybe it was her guilty conscience. Not like she knew either way. J had to watch as her friends coworkers were killed in front of her. She had to watch what happened when she didn't take control of her team and force them to follow orders. She wasn't going to let that happen again. Every time they tried something, it failed. Every time they failed, they were punished. Every time J didn't do what she was told, she was punished. She didn't care if Cyn tricked her at this point, it was too late for her to try to switch sides again. She was done.

The Role of Relays and Timers in Industrial Automation Systems
Tumblr media
In the world of industrial automation, efficiency, safety, and precision are crucial. Among the many components that contribute to a well-functioning automated system, relays and timers play a foundational role. These devices act as control elements that manage the flow of electricity, signal processes, and coordinate timing sequences — ensuring that operations run smoothly and safely.
In this article, we’ll explore how relays and timers work, their types, applications in automation systems, and how high-quality products — like those offered by Enza Electric — can enhance performance and reliability in industrial settings.
What Are Relays?
A relay is an electromechanical or electronic switch used to control a circuit by a separate low-power signal or multiple signals. In industrial automation, relays act as a bridge between the control system and the equipment being operated — allowing machines to be turned on or off automatically.
Types of Relays Commonly Used in Automation:
Electromechanical Relays (EMRs): Use physical moving parts; reliable and easy to maintain.
Solid-State Relays (SSRs): No moving parts; faster switching, longer lifespan, and better for high-speed applications.
Thermal Overload Relays: Protect motors and equipment from overheating.
Control Relays: Designed for controlling multiple contacts simultaneously in automation systems.
What Are Timers?
Timers are devices used to delay or repeat electrical signals at predetermined intervals. They help synchronize tasks, automate sequences, and provide controlled outputs over time — critical for complex industrial processes.
Common Timer Functions:
On-delay and off-delay timing
Interval timing
Cyclic or repeat cycle operation
Flashing and sequencing operations
Types of Timers:
Analog Timers: Manual dial settings, simple and cost-effective.
Digital Timers: Offer precise programming, displays, and flexible timing ranges.
Programmable Timers: Ideal for complex automation routines requiring multiple sequences.
Key Roles in Industrial Automation Systems
1. Process Control and Sequencing
Relays and timers enable automated machines to follow a specific sequence — turning motors, lights, or pumps on and off in a logical order. For example, a conveyor system can use a relay-timer combination to control material flow with millisecond precision.
2. Safety and Protection
Relays protect systems by interrupting circuits in case of faults. Combined with timers, they can ensure delay before activating emergency stop functions, preventing false triggers and increasing worker safety.
3. Load Management
In high-demand industrial environments, relays help manage load distribution by selectively energizing or de-energizing machinery. Timers assist in staggered starts, reducing power surges.
4. Energy Efficiency
By automating start/stop functions and managing operation durations, timers help reduce unnecessary energy use. Relays ensure only the necessary loads are powered, minimizing wastage.
5. System Monitoring and Feedback
In smart automation, relays provide feedback signals to the control system. Timers assist with diagnostics by creating intervals for testing or data collection.
Benefits of Using High-Quality Relays and Timers
Choosing the right components significantly impacts system performance and longevity. Enza Electric’s relays and timers are engineered with:
High durability for tough industrial environments
Precision timing for reliable operation
Easy installation and compact designs
Compliance with international safety and quality standards
By integrating Enza’s low-voltage solutions, businesses in the GCC, MENA, and Africa regions benefit from cost-effective, scalable automation that supports both current needs and future expansion.
Common Applications in Industrial Sectors
Manufacturing Plants: Control of motors, robotic arms, and production lines.
HVAC Systems: Timed control of fans, compressors, and dampers.
Water Treatment Facilities: Sequenced operation of pumps and valves.
Packaging Machinery: Relay and timer-based coordination of packing, sealing, and labeling.
Food and Beverage Industry: Process automation with hygiene-compliant controls.
Final Thoughts
Relays and timers are the silent operators behind the success of industrial automation systems. From process optimization to enhanced safety and energy management, these components are indispensable.
When sourced from a trusted manufacturer like Enza Electric, businesses are not only investing in reliable hardware but also in the longevity, scalability, and safety of their entire operation.

not yashua complaining because he’s not getting enough the views and followers let’s be real here most of his “fans” were most people are from Richard followers and CNCOwners
I’m gonna be completely and brutally honest today, because i feel like it when i feel like a total gemini bitch.
CNCO took something for granted when they decided to disband: in their mind they thought they would come out of that mess unharmed. First of all, they relied too much on their fame status & didn’t realize they weren’t as big as One Direction and their fan base wasn’t as royal as directioners. Then, their decision of when announcing the disbanding. Bringing it out while accepting an award wasn’t a very smart move. In addition to that we should remember Zabdiel was already in talks to release his debut single while still in the band and Richard was hella mad at him and everybody knew something was wrong. All of these contributed to the reason a great portion of the fandom decided to step out. This was the first big mistake they made.
Their second big mistake was egoistically thinking they would have had the same success as One Direction members achieved when going solo. They were pretty confident it would have worked out for every single one of them, while they still had an example in front of them of how, in fact, it didn’t work for Jword. They were basically digging their own grave and didn’t even notice it.
Another mistake they made that costed them more than half of the fandom was their farewell tour. People forgive, but people don’t forget very easily. The farewell tour was not thought through like they made us think it was. Not planning an european leg was hella stupid, but planning 10 shows in Mexico was cruel. They didn’t sold out any of the 10 shows. And they were also forced to cancel some dates of the tour because tickets wouldn’t sell, at that point half of the fandom was gone and the other half was desperately hoping to see them one last time outside USA & LATAM - which never happened.
So, having finally said that, if Yashua is flopping, it’s just a reflection to what is happening to Richard. CNCOwners stopped caring about Richard and, as a result, they stopped caring about Yashua as well. Let’s face the truth: none of the CNCO guys will be able to achieve something as a solo artist because the fandom they thought they had doesn’t exists anymore. All of them were relaying on a previous existing fandom to start their careers - so, they were sure CNCOwners would stream their debut singles no matter what. They ended up not having that. Richard released his album on a platform where people have to pay the music per minute to listen to it, because nobody wanted to sign him - mainly because everyone knows their previous fanbase is completely gone (half of it switched to kpop lmao and the other half is probably like me: we listen to various genres because we can’t get attached to another artist anymore). Zabdiel is nowhere to be found in terms of music. Erick’s debut was lame - his team could have created some hype before announcing the single, but they didn’t. Hype is fundamental. And the song wasn’t even that good. He got a couple of performances booked and that’s it. He’s back in his apartment in Miami doing what he always does. Chris is… do we really think he would actually come out with music? I have lost hopes.
Men. They always manage to screw everything up and never have good ideas. Richard will be out there looking for a regular job or something else (dancing gigs? acting? everything to support one toddler and alimony to his other child.)
That’s it. I’ve spilled my hot tea once for all.

I've just discovered the pet zoo au and I.am.obsessed.
NO CUZ LIKE IMAGINE IK AND BELPHIE LISTENING TO "WHAT DOES THE FOX SAY" AND BELPHIE JUST STARTES MAKING FOX NOISES ON THAT PART.
Also for some reason I think beels "woof" would be like that one meme with the husky where the humans are trying to sush it and he just lets out the most definde 'woof' ever.
Another thing, what if they tried to write out their names??? Like Satan steps in int and tries to make multuple paw prints on a paper to draw out his name in a way (he fails)
Also, it's said that crows can learn some words...what if crow Mammon (due to being magic as well) manages to start saying a few words and even starts making full on sentences. Can just imagine him flying through the window and landing in front of Ik and her dad like "feed me mortals or perish" as a joke to freak them out BC 'omg a talking crow' AND THEY INSTEAD START SCREAMING THWIR BUTTS OFF WHILE MAMMON IS TRYING TO CALM THEM DOWN BUT IT ONLY TURNS WORSE.
On the talking crow Mammon topic, what if he tells Ik what the others want to tell her?? Like "Yeah Lucifer wants you to put more Britney Spears" or "Levi wants to watch you play this game" or "Asmo says you gotta go pet him"
(wanna hear more from you tho BC I like your hcs, they're funny and silly)
orders given, orders received (/j i've been wanting to talk more about this au too!!)
i love the idea of the brothers attempting to communicate their names,, i feel like lucifer and/or satan would come up with some really smart method of going about it (like laying out books or ripping up a newspaper and using the letters), but ik and her dad are just like 'ah, what silly animal antics' and clean up the mess without even noticing what they're trying to spell out
so at first they just all have nicknames-
lucifer: peter (as in Peter the Peacock)
mammon: car (crow goes "caw!", caw sounds like 'car', ergo, car)
levi: socks (on the first morning after they took the animals in, ik found him trying to hide inside one. it's also funny because usually you get cats or dogs named this)
satan: paddy (aunt lisa picked this one - as in st paddy, for his green eyes)
asmo: duchess (ik had a feeling he'd like it)
beel: boof (it's the noise he makes)
belphie: hu (from the chinese word for fox (zhao picked this one). sometimes it's extended to hu-hu)
at first, satan and asmo are the only ones who like their new nicknames, while everyone else is mostly neutral on theirs, apart from lucifer, who HATES his
however, he still responds to it, so really it's his fault that it sticks
eventually everyone warms up to their new nicknames, but they'd still like their new family to know their actual ones
i like the idea of mammon learning speech, so yes he'd be the one to eventually relay the message!
he hops around on ik's shoulder going "lucifer! lucifer! lucifer!", and ik thinks her crow friend is conducting a ritual up until she realises he keeps pointing his beak at peter the peacock
she does switch to their actual names once she learns them, but in her head she still tends to refer to them by their nicknames, and they still respond when she uses them aloud
mammon's language would be more fluent than a regular crow's, but i don't think he'd generally be able to string together full sentences
so it's more like a "hey! food!" when he's hungry, "kid? okay?" when he's concerned, "levi. bowl. broke!" when he's snitching
he can manage full sentences if he tries really hard, but he usually can't be bothered, so he saves them for when he's serious
for example, if ik were getting bullied, he would go full fluency mode to say "i'm gonna kill them for you"
the other brothers are mostly happy to just chill (particularly levi and belphie), but lucifer gets so restless with no work to do that he starts assigning himself random chores to occupy himself
for example he's decided it's his job to open all the curtains in the morning and close them at night
ik starts bringing home random worksheets from school and lucifer will just sit there staring at them (he doesn't have hands to write with so he just has to answer mentally)
levi has a little box by the window from which he can see the tv and also sunbathe
ik brings home a sheet of stickers so that he can pick some to decorate with
beel is SUCH a big dog that he would take up the whooole sofa or bed if he sat there, so usually he very politely sticks to the floor
but then they buy him a big blanket and he starts carrying it with him from room to room to rest on (belphie also steals it a lot)
everyone has their own little spots around the house where they usually stay, apart from mammon, who is nearly always found on ik's shoulder
if ik isn't home he will stand on zhao's head instead
satan nearly always sleeps on either ik or zhao's bed and at some point his habit extends to the others, so they start taking it in turns being 'guards' for both humans at night
lucifer pretends to be above it as if he DOESN'T trot himself right to rooms and stay there the whole night as soon as it's his turn
whenever ik's stressed out from school she comes home and just plonks herself on beel
he's such a big dog that he barely even feels it so he's perfectly happy to be a big fluffy pillow
levi spends most of his time in his box but he'll also be quite happy to go around the house draped around ik's neck and listening to her narrate her whole day to him
sometimes ik brings asmo ribbons and such and he gets so excited that he does that jumpy twisty thing rabbits do (i think it's called binkying?)
asmo and satan both get the zoomies but satan's always so embarrassed about it afterwards, while asmo simply owns the energy and then flops over for pats afterwards
belphie's normally very quiet and docile but occasionally he'll just SCREAM and it scares everyone in the house

“I sleep with a gun under my pillow… just so you know.” and “I can not go in there! I will have a heart attack, die, and it will be your fucking fault.” with dally please
hihi anonny, tysm for the request
word count: 856
summary: Johnny finds Dallas for comfort after a fight at home. mostly jus fluff
a/n: you didn’t name a ship so i defaulted to jally oops
Tumblr media
Johnny strolled slowly down the dimly lit street, in no real rush to head anywhere really. He knew it wasn’t too smart to be out alone at this hour, but considering the scene he had just left at home, he felt dealing with getting jumped was just as good, if not a better way to spend his Friday night.
He kept his eyes focused straight in front of him, shoulders back, switchblade in his hand within his pocket, the way Dally taught him after he got jumped the first time. “You’ll look tougher. And at the first sign of danger, you defend yourself anyway, anyhow, ‘kay Johnnycakes?”, Dallas’ words repeated in his mind.
The thought of Dallas Winston made him stop walking for a moment. Dally. He quickly looked around to get a sense of where he was, and recognized the part of town instantly. He took a breath, and then another, before turning left, heading straight towards’ Buck Merril’s place, Dally’s frequent place of choice to spend his evenings.
Johnny knocked on the door, swallowing hard, as though his anxieties were trying to escape out his mouth. He loosened his grip off his switch and took a deep breath. The place didn’t seem deserted, but it didn’t seem to be one of the rowdier nights either, so Johnny was hoping Dally wasn’t too far gone yet.
“Can I help you?” Buck said, his voice filled with annoyance.
“H-hey Buck…” His voice quivered as he spoke. He closed his eyes and quickly took another breath before opening them again. “Hey man. Dally here?”
Buck had never really appreciated when Dallas’ younger buddies showed up, but Johnny guessed he either could sense his urgency or just plain out felt sorry for him.
“Yeah,” Buck grumbled, motioning up the stairs, “in his room.”
“Thanks.” he mumbled. Johnny stepped past Buck and quickly made his way up the stairs.
“Dally! Dallas, It’s me, Johnny,” he knocked thrice on the door before trying the knob. Locked. He knocked twice more. “Dallas!”
It was quiet for a moment, and then Johnny heard the shuffling of feet across Buck’s old, squeaky floor, and he let out a sigh of relief.
Dallas opened the door, his eyes half open, wearing a white sleeveless t-shirt and thin black-and-blue plaid boxers. He yawned, stretching his arms above his head. “‘Ey Johnny, you okay?”
Johnny didn’t answer right away, he just walked past Dallas, sat down on his bed, continuing to fight back the tears that had been trying to reveal just how scared he was. He put his head in his hands, and stared down at the floor as he spoke.
“My pops… h-he came home drunk again. Went all berserk and threatening on me. Dally-” he paused and looked up at Dallas. At this point Dally’s face had fallen like it did all the other times Johnny relayed stories from home to him, the pure helplessness he felt while listening to Johnny displayed over every inch of his face. “Dally… I can’t go back there.”
Dallas scratched at the back of his neck, letting out a deep sigh. “Kid… I mean, sure you cans. Hell, don’t you think me and my pops ever-”
“Dally!” Johnny cried out. Dallas paused, shocked at just how hard this fight was hitting him. “Dallas, you don’t understand. I can not go in there! I will have a heart attack, die, and it will be your fucking fault.” Johnny sobbed between words, every tear that had been waiting to come out came out in droves. He slowly rocked back and forth on the bed in an attempt to self-soothe, his head once again buried deep in his hands.
Dallas took a seat next to Johnny at the foot of the bed, his hand instinctively running up and down Johnny’s back. Dallas had never been too good at comfort, and he never knew why Johnny seemed to always pick him to find solace in, but he always knew when he was needed and when he was not.
And right now, Johnny needed him.
After a few quiet moments of Dally’s rubbing Johnny’s back while he rocked, Johnny slowly started to calm down and regain some composure. He knew he was safe with Dallas. He knew he could trust Dallas.
“Hey, Johnny, why don’t you… why don’t you stay here. For the night. With me.” Dallas said, finally breaking the silence. “We don’t gotta sleep if you don’t wanna, can stay up all night havin’ a sleepover like you and Pony do.” He added.
Johnny moved his hands from his face, a small smile forcing its way onto his face as he locked eyes with Dallas. As if on cue, he yawned, and leaned slightly more into Dallas’ touch.
“I’d like that very much,” he yawned again, and plopped over onto his side, laying near the edge of the bed. Dallas smiled, and laid next to Johnny, throwing his arm over his waist.
“Hey, Johnny?”
“Yeah Dal?”
“I-I… I sleep with a gun under my pillow… just so you know.” Dallas grabbed Johnny’s hand, squeezing it. “You’re safe, here, with me.”

What Is a Circuit Breaker and How Does It Work in a Switchgear Assembly?
Tumblr media
In modern electrical power systems, reliability and safety are paramount. Whether it’s a residential building, industrial plant, or renewable energy facility, the control and protection of electrical circuits are essential. One of the most critical components used for this purpose is the circuit breaker. When integrated into a switchgear assembly, the circuit breaker plays a central role in ensuring operational continuity, preventing electrical faults, and safeguarding equipment and personnel.
This article explores what a circuit breaker is, it’s working principle, types, and its specific function within a switchgear assembly.
What Is a Circuit Breaker?
A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overcurrent, overload, or short circuit. Its primary function is to interrupt current flow after a fault is detected. Unlike a fuse, which operates once and must be replaced, a circuit breaker can be reset (manually or automatically) to resume normal operation.
Key Functions of a Circuit Breaker
· Interrupt Fault Currents: Quickly breaks the circuit in the event of an overcurrent or short circuit.
· Manual Switching: Can be used to manually open or close a circuit for maintenance.
· Automatic Protection: Operates automatically in response to abnormal current conditions.
· Isolation: Ensures safe isolation of electrical equipment during servicing.
How Does a Circuit Breaker Work?
Circuit breakers operate on a simple principle: detect a fault and interrupt the current flow.
Working Mechanism
1. Detection: Internal sensors such as thermal, magnetic, or electronic trip units detect abnormalities in current.
· Thermal Trip Unit: Uses a bimetallic strip that bends with heat from overcurrent.
· Magnetic Trip Unit: Uses an electromagnet that triggers a release when excessive current flows.
· Electronic Trip Unit: Uses current sensors and a microprocessor for precise tripping.
2. Tripping: Once a fault is detected, the trip mechanism activates, causing the breaker’s contacts to open.
3. Arc Extinction: When the contacts open, an electrical arc forms. The breaker extinguishes the arc using mechanisms like:
· Air-blast
· Vacuum
· SF₆ gas
· Oil
4. Resetting: After the fault is cleared, the breaker can be reset and put back into service.

What Is a Switchgear Assembly?
Switchgear is a centralized assembly of electrical disconnect switches, fuses, or circuit breakers used to control, protect, and isolate electrical equipment. It is essential in power generation, transmission, and distribution networks.
Switchgear can be categorized by voltage level:
· Low Voltage (LV): Up to 1 kV
· Medium Voltage (MV): 1 kV to 36 kV
· High Voltage (HV): Above 36 kV
Role of Circuit Breakers in Switchgear Assemblies
Circuit breakers are core protection components within switchgear systems. Their role includes:
1. Fault Detection and Isolation
Circuit breakers detect and isolate faulty circuits to prevent system-wide failures and reduce downtime.
2. Load Control
Operators can use breakers in switchgear to safely connect or disconnect loads as required during routine operations or emergencies.
3. System Coordination
In coordinated protection schemes, different breakers in the switchgear are set with time-current characteristics to isolate faults precisely and efficiently.
4. Integration with Automation
Modern switchgear integrates circuit breakers with SCADA systems and smart relays, enabling remote monitoring and control.
Circuit Breakers in Renewable and Industrial Applications
In sectors like solar and wind energy, circuit breakers are specially designed to handle:
· Bidirectional current flow
· Rapid voltage fluctuations
· High fault levels due to DC sources
In industrial settings, breakers must handle high inrush currents, frequent switching, and harsh environments.
Maintenance and Safety Considerations
To ensure reliability:
· Regular Testing: Trip settings, insulation resistance, and contact resistance must be tested periodically.
· Visual Inspection: For signs of wear, overheating, or contamination.
· Replacement of Parts: Arcing contacts and insulation materials degrade over time and must be replaced as needed.
Safety measures include:
· Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
· Grounding procedures
· Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Conclusion
Circuit breakers are indispensable for the protection and control of electrical systems. When embedded within a switchgear assembly, they offer enhanced reliability, automation capability, and system safety. Whether in a power substation, a manufacturing facility, or a renewable energy farm, the synergy of circuit breakers and switchgear ensures smooth, safe, and efficient operation.
Understanding how circuit breakers function and interact within switchgear assemblies is crucial for electrical engineers, facility managers, and anyone involved in the design, operation, or maintenance of electrical infrastructure.

Hello, I hope you are well. Can you please share some headcanons and canon reflections about Karnatia and Schlain? I really loved the ones that you did for Wrath. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for the well wishes! I’m still VERY ill but have a support system trying to get me help ☺️ so we keep chugging! Still won’t be super active here but I LOVE answering these asks 💕
And THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VALIDATION ❤️?! Like I am so incredibly happy people enjoy my ranting and want to hear/value my opinion, it’s wild and super enjoyable.
Still considering just posting my whole current Kumoko Headcanon (I have expanded some points from previous Kyouya/Wrath one too haha) but it’s suuuper long and I am CONSTANTLY adding too it. Let me know if anyone is interested.
Kyouya is def my fav so I have waaay more for him but I do have some for Katia and Shun (probably more on Shun just cause we get more from his perspective in the Novel)! As a massive Shipper again most of them revolve around my OT3 (I have no shame there haha).
Heads up for Spoiler Warning (I think I give mostly vague Spoiler for the entire series but except the Kumoko/Wakaba thing is directly said).
(Again I’m ripping this from my KumoDesu Fanfic ideas Doc so if some of the wording is wonky that’s why because it’s older and I write this just to get my thoughts down).
Trans Katia: Update: 16 novels we get two chapters from Katia’s perspective but I think there is one or two more shorts from her perspective in the Ex-Ex2. Okay so far in all 12 novels we get one (1) chapter from Katia’s perspective so there’s not a lot to go off but Katia was definitely closeted/uncracked egg Trans Girl in her past life fight me. Cracking the egg/getting outed via isekai lol. Out of roughly 30 reincarnations Katia is is the only one that switched gender and it’s explained (aside from Oka which D did just to cause trouble) the system puts them in bodies that best fit their soul this being why some characters reincarnated as not humans and why Katia is a girl. So the only characters who changed gender or race are Katia, Fei, Sophia, Kyouya, and Oka who doesn’t count in this. Shiro was always a spider thus why she is a spider. Kyouya deeply agreed with the Goblin’s mentalities and morals. We see later that Fei’s personality and morals really fits with the dragon's code of conduct. Sophia being a vampire isn’t super explained and more how people viewed her. So like failing in line Katia must be a Trans Woman basically.
Katia Anxiety: I think Katia is very protective of her boys. It’s kinda obvious when she meets Shun again and then when they get in dangerous situations. She’s so scared of losing the people she cares about (I think she’s often the most aware of how different and how dangerous the fantasy world is compared to their previous lives). I think the realization Kyouya probably isn’t on their side (because of how Oka kept avoiding the topic) probably hurt her a lot, because she doesn’t want to abandon him but also is too scared about losing Shun as it is (and I feel like when she puts everything together after the fact she feels super guilty for not pressing more). It kinda seemed she really didn’t have many people she was close to in her past life and the fact that Shun (and I’m gonna Headcanon here later Kyouya) still accept her despite everything that’s “different” (cough cough eye cracked) is huge to her. I’m glad in the Novel Shun always does a very good job conveying how much he appreciates, relays on, and trusts her because god she needs it.
Shun and Julius: The fun part about Shun as a Character is he is painfully aware how much of an NPC he is and that he doesn’t fit the role of Hero. Which is why I think he looks up to Julius so much and later on tries to emulate him. He quite frankly knows he has NO IDEA what he is doing and wants to be as level headed and smart as Julius. I think that his idol-like obsession with Julius comes from his own insecurities.
Shun, Katia, and Kyouya are Weird (aka Poly):“They're weird about each other” is one of my favorite Shipping reasons because it’s so true. I mean Shun and Katia are pretty solid in Canon and I would say I’m just adding Kyouya to it to make it an OT3 but also once I see it I can’t unsee it. Just the fact that all 3 of them single out their “Friendship” as something special. I don’t think Katia super had other friends in her past life (being an uncracked egg will make that hard) but Shun and Kyouya did and they never really mention it. Shun was peak NPC and was not super close but friendly to most of the guys but he NEVER mentions it until running into them again (apparently he was on a soccer team and just, never thought it was important or that big a deal). And it’s Shiro who mentions it seems like Kyouya and Shinobu were friends in their past life, Kyouya barely mentions it even after seeing him again. Just the “you're weird about each other” being a way of saying “that’s a little more than a friendship I think” basically.
Polyamorous not having Legal Marriage: So at the end of Volume 16 they mention that nothing is know about Shun’s love life, which might mean he never legally married. Now I like think Shun and Katia legally married and then Kyouya is their lover (they have a non-legal marriage for the 3 of them in private). But I am just saying this can support my Ship because Polyamory isn’t really that accepted publicly so they keep it secret (open secret among their friends though). It’s sort of an AU but I’m just saying.
Shun Salaryman: So it says at the end of Vol 16 Shun goes back to help his Brother and all I can think is he’s finally becomes a Salaryman. Imagine he helps with all the paperwork instead of decision making. And he’s really good at it to the point of everyone’s surprise. He finally realized JUST how lost he was trying to be a Hero (he always sort of knew but now that he’s found his calling it’s super obvious to everyone else as well).
Shun’s Accidental Rizz: So we see that Shun is always ridiculous earnest about his feelings and has no qualms expressing his appreciation (we see this most to Katia early on where he always thanks her for helping him). So I like to think for my OT3 he accidentally says the most romantic shit to Katia and Kyouya all the time unprompted because he’s just being honest about it (Kyouya Bluescreens because he’s so unused to verbal affection (he likes it he’s just used to the Demon Army’s brand of nonverbal love) and Katia goes Tsundere Mode when flustered).
Shun Perception Check: Shun is both really perceptive and an idiot at the same time. So he is able to perceive all sorts of little subtle tells that others can’t but at the same time has no idea how to process what they actually mean.
Shun: Shun is an Emotional Support Dumbass. And anyone who hates him (usually people who only saw his botched Anime version) can meet me in the pit. I also think his general easy going-ness probably helped both Katia and Kyouya a lot in their past lives (because it seemed like neither of them had the easiest home life’s and then they have it rough again after being reincarnated rip).
And that’s all I have at the moment! I’m always adding more though haha. Feel free to keep sending KumoDesu Asks I love them!
