r/sims2help's wiki guide is really good, I would highly recommend using the web installer they link it makes it piss easy. I've installed the game using both the web installer and the g4tw torrent and the web installer is better lol. I've never had good luck with graphicsrulemaker though so u may have to go in and edit that file yourself (fixes the game not recognizing that ur gpu usnt a piece a 2004 shit basically)

I really recommend using lazyduchess's RPC launcher as well, the web installer will download it for you as an option. It fixes an important bug relating to sim genetics and fixes sim shadows without the need for a separate mod. There's quite a few other options too but I don't use them (like high quality lot imposters. crashes my game lol)

If you have an AMD graphics card, you may experience really long start times for your game (like itll show up in task manager for 10 minutes before actually launching) so like. DON'T panic i had this issue lol. You'll want to follow this guide to installing dxvk just don't install it if ur not having #problems bc it does have some tradeoffs.

I think that should be pretty much it as far as getting the game to run goes, there's a few mods that you'll want to have but I really would not worry about it until you know you're gonna be playing this game for a While bc some of their setups are really fucking annoying (clean neighborhood templates...)

Turians who insist on human Darling's hair being styled how they want it

They never knew certain humans had styles so similar to a Turian head fringe until looking up some tidbits about human culture while seeking advice on...well, "courtship" and mating with a human. Some have very curled hair that can be easily styled into a kind of fringe like box braids, dreadlocks, etc. while others with straighter hair can wear it in looser braids.

The professional Turians who like bringing their Darling to events (or the ones who just don't like them being left alone so they bring them along) like to make sure they're dressed in a way that shows the status of who they belong to. So they go about it one of two ways: making Darling's hair look similar to a Turian fringe, or emphasizing their "exotic" human's look by making them wear it loose and flowing.

They're naturally inclined to find things like human updos attractive since they have the general shape of a fringe; even something like a loose bun or ponytail would make a traditional Turian's mouth water a little. Whereas the ones with a huge human fetish would love to see how non-Turianlike their Darling's hair can be.

Curly hair, afros and dreads aren't UNVENTURED territory but I've yet to find a technique that clicks in my brain to make them look right, and i refuse to put him out without his hair being drawn properly so...

I need to find a way to simplify dreads enough for me to draw 'em in my style without looking wrong
