have you done a design for snowfall? Sorry if you have and this is annoying!

Here's her design from the design project, but that's a tad old and I've revamped my icewing design, so here's a slightly more updated version!

Wanted her to look fairly sharp, but still a bit small and not quite as intimidating as some other icewings. She doesn't have impressive horns or forehead spikes, like she has no crown or anything on her head she can be proud of (she has to replace it with metal crowns instead.) I gave her a colorpoint look, mostly because I haven't used that yet, and also because it kinda makes her look a little more like a nightwing for symbolism. Also maybe a Siamese cat and Siamese cats never stop talking /affectionate

Hmmmmmmmmm...

My hottest take is probably that I loved The Dangerous Gift. I just thought that following Snowfall on her A Christmas Carol-Esque journey on learning to be a better person was really interesting! I also just enjoyed her character a lot, her paranoid mental state at the beginning made a lot of sense and got me to feel for her by the time I was only a chapter in. I get the complaint that it felt like a detour, but I liked it for that cause it was nice to check up on the Pyrrhian stuff after being away for so long. And other arcs had detour books too, book 2 and book 8 don't further the big plots too much except getting things going for the rest of the arcs, but they're still enjoyable in their own rights.

CLAY NEEDS MORE FOCUS!!!!!!

I've already talked about him EXTENSIVELY during my reread, and I've even made a list detailing several issues and traumas he has, but I feel it needs to be said more.

There are dozens upon dozens upon dozens of pmvs and maps about Darkstalker and his Legends book, but there are ZERO about Clay. Anything with him in it is either a spoof about how he's the foodie, or it's about Cleril, there's NOTHING that's truly focused on him in a serious way. Compare that to nearly any other protagonist and it becomes very clear that all of the interesting bits about his character have been forgotten. It's pretty sad that our first pov character was sidelined and ignored for so long, and I know that this isn't technically a hot take, but considering the staggering lack of any art that focuses on him, I feel I need to bring it up as much as I can.

         Hand is cupping her cheek, his thumb tipping her face up to his own and the warmth that fills Lumine’s expression is genuine. She never tires of these little moments between them. Where the world fades away, whether it be them on a makeshift battlefield, a tent or in one of the inns she frequents. For now, nestled in the tent they share, they’re both nice and warm, a blanket covering them both as they lay together, she’s more than content to be in his arms. For once, it doesn’t matter that Teyvat seems to rest upon her shoulders, or that there were obligations he had, they’re just two people enjoying one another. 

❝ ━ I do. ❞ It’s said resolutely, without hesitation, because out of all the people she’d made bonds with, Tartaglia is the one person who she solely looked for no matter where she ended up. It wasn’t just because she saw him as a friend, but something more, someone that had become a confidant to her and someone she cared deeply for. And when her view of Teyvat became frazzled, he was a familiar beacon of solace she would forever reach for, who unscrambles her worries and tosses them away so the weight isn't as heavy.

One hand rests on his chest, the other on his hip, tracing absent shapes as she looks into his eyes. ❝ ━ There is always a lot on my mind, my brother, the fate of Teyvat, but you’re the one who beckons first. I want to see you smile, to know I can hold you and touch you and not worry that you’ll disappear. ❞ Not that that isn’t a reality. His delusion is breaking him down and she worries, quietly and internally about it, but the traveler doesn’t want to step in the way of what he wants.

Splaying her fingers over his heart, the beat steady beneath her palm, she meets his gaze once more, her smile coming back, ❝ ━ No matter the nation, or what I’m doing, you’re in my thoughts. Even when I’m scared and tired and unsure, you’ll always be the one whose arms I long to run into. ❞ She pulls him closer, legs tangling with his so she can lean in and press a kiss to his lips, ❝ ━ Will you tell me something about you no one knows ? something that'll stay just between us ? ❞ A piece of his heart that she can cradle when she's in another nation and he can't be. it's probably presumptuous to ask for, but she wants that, just for them.

This is the gayest show that isn't gay at all I have ever seen. Because it's all very hetero, but my god they really went for it with this enemy obsession thing. Because they threaten each other they are very up close and personal, and yes we've had wall slams, and just now Shen Zhiheng was feeling Li Yingliang up, I'm sorry, I mean checking for a gun in a very familiar manner. And Liang has been having "nightmares" of Shen Zhiheng showing up in his apartment at night, confidently getting in a straddling position on the bed and exposing Liang's neck to bite him. In universe these two aren't very gay, Liang is truly terrified, he's living a horror movie. But knowing about censorship in China, with all this symbolism they might as well be fucking.

Side note: Liang's underling could be gay in universe too. It's even very likely.

A fuzzy blanket by a fireplace, the kind of snowfall with big, fluffy flakes. The kind that makes everything else go silent so you're alone in a room with somebody you've wanted to be alone with for a long time.

Cold on the surface, but a deep passion beneath. Inspiring and beautiful. Peaceful.

This is beautiful and I already feel warm and fuzzy inside. When the snowflakes are the size of cotton balls and seem to falling in slow motion and the entire world is dead silent.

I used to lie in the yard on days like that, until I was buried. There's so much peace.

What is Gin's idea, of perfect happiness?

TRUTHFULLY, HE DOESN'T KNOW, it changes -- not completely, but there are tweaks to the daydream from time to time. When more self-critical and punishing to himself, Gin'll imagine life's perfect happiness can only happen when he dies, when he can stop existing and leave behind that bitterness and wrath that poisoned his life and, by extension through himself, his loved ones. On days spent mulling over everything that could have and should have been -- on the vow he took when he was a kid and the wound he desperately wanted to 'fix' Gin'll imagine that happiness can't happen until he has Aizen dead at his feet and the Hogyoku in his hand. But on days where Gin is less self-deprecating in mood and less rageful inside he'll imagine true happiness comes in the form of the mundane. Living life simply after so many years of weaving elaborate plots and enveloping himself in cunning and cutthroat acts. No more tricks, no more facades; just going to the market with the one he loves, ducking under the side-roof of a nearby shop when a summer shower starts abruptly, or picking dirt out from under his nails, rather than blood, after a morning spent gardening. Gin never thought of himself as a person who desired that sort of life because he honestly never viewed himself as worthy of it nor did he believe himself likely to survive, and if he did, he imagined he'd be an outcast regardless. But there are specks of peace to be had and he grew up a scavenger, after all.

7. Do they want (have) kids?

I would think kids are a weird thing for them, again they’re terrified they make a mini Cinder or mini Winter. And the awful thought of what if they’re just as bad as their parental figures?

Elemental CinWin Vacuo campsite moments where they finally have a moment to take stock of just how far one another have come and let one another breath the ashen air of dying embers before thanking the other for giving them a chance. I’m normal

10. How do they deal with the other’s family?

Winter loathes when Emerald and Mercury come over and ruin her careful cleaned apartment; it’s like having the two ITs from Cat in the Hat for her. Cinder is overwhelmingly happy to do coffee and tea gossip dates with Weiss; they’re the bitchy fashionistas people watching everyone.

14. How did they first meet?

I think they first truly meet one another after all of the fighting, duels, when Cinder changes teams and they’re forced to try and cooperate. The horror for both of them is that they kind of work really well together, and they compliment one another’s styles really well, but no, no, they’re not gonna tell each other than. Of course not…

22. Who is the photo bug?

I think Winter is probably always denying that she takes photos but does it constantly from like her pocket. She loves looking at pictures of Cinder and even more pictures of them together. Cinder will just grab Winter at any time and take embarrassing photos of them together.

27. Who brought home an illegal pet?

Cinder 100% has brought home cats, like an army of strays, someone was allergic and they all had to go and she has never recovered
