Rhaenyra Targaryen × Vaera Targaryen

Rhaenyra tried time and time again for a girl, who she could raise as a copy of herself and marry to her heir.

She did have that daughter, but could never imagine giving her over to another.

Vaera was born in the midst of a blizzard, that killed all but one of the eggs from the clutch she would get her dragon from. As a testament to her dragon's survival of that dark time, she named the white-and-silver dragon Snowspear.

Vaera was a child of Rhaenyra and Daemon, and an undeniable momma's girl from the start. Her father was jealous of the time Vaera stole from him, and Rhaenyra's attention. He didn't know how founded his feelings were.

As Vaera grew, Rhaenyra raised her with a variety of values typical to Targaryens, and a few atypical even for them.

Vaera grew up believing pure Targs were superior to other men and other Valyrians, that she was the purest of all, and that she was an extension of her mother in all things. She accompanied her mother everywhere. She was considered the de facto heir, even with her brothers in the picture, for years.

She never fell in love with her mother so much as her mother and her's relationship progressed.

Rhaenyra was Vaera's first crush, and she felt possessive and angry about the idea of letting someone else touch Vaera. So when the time came, she taught Vaera everything and gave her a hands-on lesson.

From there it just continued. Neither of them could have other serious paramours, though Rhaenyra was allowed an occasional lover to produce siblings for Vaera.

The assumption was that Vaera would simply never marry and no one would question it since Rhaenyra was the queen.

During the war, Vaera attended Rhaenyra's council and wasn't allowed to act as a messenger or warrior because Rhaenyra was possessive. She did help take King's Landing, however, and she did preside over certain trials and conduct executions.

She died when King's Landing was retaken, and Rhaenyra quickly followed her to the grave on Dragonstone.

Except in the Rhaenyra Wins AU where they live & escape to Essos.

I’ve just found yet another lore discrepancy in TRR.

It’s stated that the Sons of Earth and the Nevrakis family were historically at odds with each other, but when Lionel and Camellia Nevrakis failed Operation Snowspear (the coup against the crown), the Sons of Earth made an appealing offer to the decimated Nevrakis faction which sealed a covert alliance between the two in which Anton Severus and Olivia Nevrakis were legally married on their 18th birthdays.

However…it’s stated that Olivia’s parents were the ones signed the marriage agreement. But this doesn’t make sense, because the Sons of Earth and the Nevrakis family only joined forces after Operation Snowspear failed.

And need I remind you, Operation Snowspear’s failure resulted in both of her parents’ immediate deaths.

So how did her parents sign the certificate of betrothal if they were already dead by that point? And, furthermore, Anton says that Olivia’s parents trained him as a child. So how did they train him if they were already dead then, too?

This one has been in the works for a while, in conjunction with Operation/Project Snowspear …

Idea: Olivia’s family line has been known to be brutal with swords, short blades… well, any weapon really. The assassination attempt on the Rhys Crown which failed so miserably caused both Lionel and Camellia Nevrakis to lose their lives.

In past Nevrakis monarchies, if found to be disloyal to the Nevrakis Crown, the traitor was decapitated at the hands of their spouse or closest relative. It was a barbaric tradition, but it instilled fear and compliance among the Lythikos people, preventing any rebellion to the King’s way of rule.

Failing in their mission to rid Cordonia of the Rhys monarchy once and for all, Lionel had been decapitated, and Camellia was brutally killed as well… this became the Legend … The forest in which they lost their lives came to be called “Sleepy Hollow” due to fears that death would befall any who passed through these woods with …

There had been a secret conspiracy… Lucretia had been attempting to gain favor from the Via Emperii, and had used Olivia in the process. This was against Lionel and Camellia’s knowledge, as they had been approached about Operation Snowspear by a member of the ViaEmperii, involving Olivia in their plan. A negotiation to the original plan was accepted, allowing her to be excluded, but sadly they failed.

This failure resulted in rumors being spread, and nightmares creeping up in Olivia’s every dream… unexplained and growing less over time as she worked harder to become the opposite of what people believed her to be…

It would feel entirely real, she could see her father’s head being severed from his body, and her mother’s heinous death, but through her eyes … as if she was there firsthand… She could see her father’s horse, the huffing noises he made in attempts to move away from the headless corpse…

She would hear the footsteps falling hard against the wooden floor… having awaken at the eerie creaking of the door opening to the Keep. She would sneak downstairs to see who’d come in… hoping that her Aunt Lucretia had returned, but would do everything in her power to stifle her desire to scream, as the headless body moved past the doorway where she was hidden in the darkness, carrying his bloodied shirt… It was if her father didn’t realize that he had died, and was returning home from a mission as he and her mother normally did in the wee hours…

The royal heir book 1, chapter 19, truth and lies and the royal heir book 2, chapter 16, in love and war.

In TRH book 1,chapter 19: We learned that queen Eleanor was keeping intel on cordonia’s enemies and was keeping tabs on the nevrakis family after Olivia’s parents death, and there was maps that mention sons of earth and in TRH book 2, chapter 16, in love and war, we find the dossier that was requested by Queen Eleanor during olivias parents time. We find “operation snowspear” which is the meeting between Lionel and camellia nevrakis and their supplier, someone who was wealthy to prepare them to overthrow king Constantine and claim the throne. Olivias parents died during the failed rebellion against king Constantine and did not celebrate olivias 5th birthday. Lionel and camellia nevrakis also signed a berothal certificate between Olivia and Anton Severus, who was promised to be the next king of cordonia and who’s father was the former leader of sons of earth.

Baela/Rhaena, Baela has this amazing, bad ass, ultimately completely useless stand off that ends in the deaths of two dragons, eventually married to an uncle/cousin who cheats on her constantly, and is completely shut out of politics aka she gets Rhaenyra-ed, and meanwhile Rhaena gets two husbands that adore her, a dragon, and significant respect from the Lords, I am telling you there is some sort of psychosexual obsession here in how in order for Rhaena to rise (and HEAL), Baela must fall and suffer, and Baela "trying desperately to be Daemon's mini me" Targaryen wouldn't get obsessive over this.

Aegon III/Gaemon Palehair is possibly incest given we don’t know who Gaemon’s father is, also i know there’s an awkward age gap but see: my gay little hands and characters i like, also, there’s weird age gaps everywhere and aegon ii was old enough to have a bastard closer to aegon iii’s age if george had been less of a coward smh. so much here in the way gaemon’s crown is torn from his head along with his mothers and he’s forced to serve the monarchy, only to fall in love with the living embodiment of every painful memory gaemon has, of aegon resenting the crown on his own head bc if he’d been the fourth born son he could have never married and lived his life with gaemon, with his brothers, with his mother, but now they’re stuck in these roles that are going to devour them whole and he can see it coming but he can’t stop it!

for me, when i think about Why Young Griff Is Here, it’s as this sort of ultimate test for jon & dany. on the jon end, i think so much of his story is focused on how much he years to he identified as a A Beloved Loyal Son. this motivates him to nearly abandon the night’s watch, it drives his moral code, it informs his his relationship with stannis, etc. and them meeting with Just Jon knowing they’re brothers is fun to me because it’s probably the only scenario they could become friends.

it’s very clear aegon is getting a foothold in westeros before dany, and this is going to happen right as the starks are allying with the vale (and probably a lot of wildlings) to take winterfell from the boltons/hold winterfell in stannis' name (or however that shakes out. the point is right as aegon starts politicking, the starks will be ready as well). my theory here is that jon is sent south by his family to treat as a sort of ambassador, similar to catelyn being sent by robb, and that's when aegon and jon start to interact. i think it has the potential to get real juicy between them!

hiiii it’s me. apropos the jace-in-the-north storyline giving nonstop jon parallels, one thing that struck me is the fact that cregan is described as taking to jace because he reminded him of the little brother he lost. that’s the lord of winterfell caring for a targaryen bastard who looks so much like his dead younger sibling (so, ned/jon/lyanna). and then, of course, at least part of cregan’s motivation for coming out swinging at the end of the dance was supposed to be his feelings for jace, his replacement brother, which to me dovetails very nicely with what you’ve speculated before about jon getting a new big bro only to lose him to the dance. okay byeeeee

I’ve usually thought of Cregan showing out for Jacaerys in the line of like, Arya & Sansa & probably Bran coming out swinging for Jon, but YES, There Are Jon Parallels Everywhere For Those With Eyes To See.

I feel like i’ve dwelled a lot on the aegon-jon potentially but the starklings seeing aegon as jon’s brother potential is honestly kinda crazy. like, WANTING it to work out for him, rooting for it even if they don’t really care about like, aegon’s cause or whatever. i think i’ve imagined that jon spends a lot of ados in the south, & the idea that like, jon loses aegon, this brother who is both a real BROTHER and a replacement for robb (and WHAT a replacement! the same confidence bordering on arrogance that comes from being the first born boy, the young brash man as king, racking up wins with ease!!), and jon becomes dedicated to making sure his killer is brought to justice, regardless of his feelings on who the killer is or how culpable aegon might have been in his own demise. and sansa arya and bran are right there, following him, looking after him, more level headed, more invested in keeping JON safe than anything else.

Hahahaha snowspear is what I call Jon Snow/Aegon VI! I have a conspiracy that most of Dany’s early storyline in s7 was lifted from JonCon & Aegon’s story which would mean it’s Jon and Aegon that have the tense interactions, not Jon and Dany. Plus, I just think Jon finally coming to terms with his relationship with Robb only to have yet another perfect older brother thrown at him to brood over would be really fun!

anyways this exists in my mind as like “asoiaf but more overtly subtextually gay” where aegon/jon is show!visaemon levels of intense but jonsa still happens. those two are straight up secret married in front of a weirwood and bran officiating as a crow, then jon gets sent as an envoy to treat with the hot new claimant to the iron throne and immediately falls ass deep into another identity crisis surrounding wanting to bang his sibling. enter sansa, who does not like aegon’s weird incest vibes bc HIS are rancid, hers are fine bc it’s not incest anymore thanks very much, just absolutely managing to third wheel this burgeoning targaryen mutually assured destruction spiral through the power of passive aggressive messages alone. becoming fond of each other solely bc of their relationship with jon (see “what you did for her is the only reason i’m not killing you” but apply it to sansa/aegon snarking at each other over jon). this will never happen tho so it only exists in my mind!!!!

how do u think dany, jon and aegon dynamic will play out?

jon and aegon are gonna be tense and weird af, jon is gonna have a lot of feelings about this situation, and before he can properly grapple with them, dany is gonna kill aegon. then arya is gonna kill dany, and jon is gonna take the fall.

so all in all, badly.

i can’t really say how rapidly this is gonna happen - my general idea is aegon and jon meet towards the end of twow, and dany lands in westeros like the end of twow, beginning of ados and aegon dies immediately afterwards. dany will not react well to aegon, she will believe he’s the mummer’s dragon and she won’t hesitate. however, im unsure if aegon gets to KL (he might still be operating out of storm’s end, maybe even takes dragonstone and uses that as a base, which is gonna piss her off worse) & ousts the Lannisters. So i don’t know if like, Jon attempts to use Dany for her deagons and it goes badly, Jon just up and books it and Arya sneaks into KL to kill Dany, or what. The Jon-Aegon and Dany-Aegon relationships i’m more sure of - Snowspear will rise (or at least be really pained), and then Dany will slay what she thinks is the mummer’s dragon but is in fact the sun’s son. Where Jon is at that point - unsure. What I do believe is Dany won’t suspect Jon of conspiring against her, and that’s going to be her downfall. Just not sure of the details!!

i’ve also no idea when dany dies, i’ve gone back and forth on whether the others will still be a threat or not, and also with my theory that we’ll get several years of bran with regents, then ruling, probably like halfway through ados is when dany dies?

anyways, jon is in for a real sad time with the targ side of his family. i think he’s going to feel real beaten down by the whole thing, and The Rhaegar Of It All, but i think he will find some sort of peace and closure through his mother’s side of the family.

the thing about me is that i don’t actually like reading about incest unless it’s fucked up, and those two are simply two healthily loving to be the sort of incest i go for. and the age gap is a lot for me. i know i sound ridiculous saying this bc i ship a lot of incest & a lot of age gaps but like. i like targs bc they’re all fucking bonkers twisted & they have cool magical powers lmao. i don’t care that much about cersei/jaime as a unit (they’re boring to Me. i see the appeal i just don’t care) despite being very fond of both of them separately. the jonsa of my mind trauma bonds & are then separated forever (i Am a sad ending jonsa truther i’m sorry @ all the happy ending jonsas following me), and i think it’s weird that tywin and rickard both married their cousins and i also think it’s weird that fdr & eleanor had the same last name before marrying as well! i have no reason for this beyond “it squicks me out when incest is healthy” like i’m fine with it being ~sexy~ and even romantic but i need some level of psychosexual trauma or i don’t want it. jon & arya are just too much like normal siblings for me to ship them. i feel the same about every other starkling ship except *sort of* jon/robb but i have to be in a really specific mood for that. and the age gap is like - the only “healthy” age gap i like is braime and they are both fully adults by our standards and theirs when they meet. all the others involve some level of grooming and i fully admit to that, and jonrya have such an age gap where that can Only be grooming in that situation and that’s just not their dynamic - to me the whole point of their dynamic is that they have this perfect, unsullied relationship to think on when the world gets horrible and that when they meet they will be so fundamentally different but that love and that bond will remain the same. you can’t really have that if jon is lusting after his barely adolescent traumatized sister.

the great thing about jon and arya is that they are so well written as a sibling unit that i am incapable of shipping them bc they remind me too much of me and my siblings. same for sansa/arya and all the focus the starklings have on robb.
