one egregious thing the game of thrones show misses out on is that the stark kids are CONSTANTLY thinking abt each other!! there isn’t like a single POV chapter from any of them where they don’t long for their siblings!! Jon wants to have a son and name him Robb!! Bran wants to be a bird so him and his siblings can live in a nest together!! Sansa prays for her siblings every night and makes the Winterfell castle and then gets upset bc there’s no one to throw snow at!! Needle IS Jon!! Arya’s list is her own prayer for her siblings, she doesn’t care that Joffrey is dead bc Robb is too!! Every single one of them believes that their big brother will come to save them!! there’s sm love and tenderness there and GOT missed out on lots of it bc it tries too hard for the grimdark angle without realising that the center of the stark’s story is their love for each other. anyways.

that's RIGHT! he WILL! sorry to the surely very few "arya is too far gone" truthers - jon STRONGLY disagrees. when he decides to save "arya" from ramsay, jon wonders if they'll even recognise each other. he struggles to reconcile the memory of the scrappy little sister he loved and the girl forced to be ramsay's "bride". he knows she might have suffered and she might have changed... and then he sacrifices EVERYTHING to try and save her anyway!!! this arya is symbolically and LITERALLY a completely different person and jon still loves her unconditionally. arya doesn't NEED redeeming in any significant way - what she needs is love and healing and not even death is going to prevent jon "big brother of the year" snow from providing it, thank you for coming to me NED talk.

Sansa, in a few years, doing PR campaign for House Stark:

Sansa: We are good people, perfectly nice and civilized, certainly not brimming with vengeance. We do not eat children in this house. All our meats are ethically sourced and we let them mature before we harvest them.

Sansa: What? Jojen Reed? Well, he was technically a teenager, wasn't he? He was also really mature for his age, Old Nan did call him 'little grandfather' so he wasn't a child at all. And it was full of consent! He knew it was going to happen!

Sansa: Cannibalism? Now that is just culinary racism. We need to stop this prejudice against certain ethnic group because they have a different diet from us. Eating a different type of meat does not make them savages, it's just cultural differences.

Sansa: Just because two members of our family turned into a zombie does not mean that it's genetic, you know. It's the circumstances that were to blame. And you can't blame them and us on their actions! They were zombies, after all. And no, we are not secretly resurrecting Ned Stark from the dead. We don't have his bones. Not that we are going to try if we have them, of course, even if it would be nice for Mother to have a zombie husband, maybe it would calm all that rage she has. You know what I mean, right?

Sansa: Uncle Benjen? He's just on a sightseeing tour beyond the Wall, definitely not turning into a zombie or anything.

Sansa: Yes, my sister did try to join a death cult, but she's just a little girl. Girls think about homicide all the time. And Arya was grieving! It's a perfectly healthy coping mechanism. What was she supposed to do when she was all alone? Wallow in despair and give in to her grief? It's not even like she succeeds joining them anyway.

Sansa: Me? No, I didn't murder the King nor was I aware of any murder plot against him. I didn't even have the means for new dresses, how could I procure such potent poison for murder? I was a political hostage with no power. Are you really going to trust Cersei Lannister on this? I mean, believe what you will, but she's not really a credible source, isn't she?

Sansa: And see? I don't have bat wings at all.

canon divergence stark family. they all lived, they're all happy, no one hates no one (not saying WHO *cough* catelyn *cough*) and it's the year 305 AC (seven years later) so there's two more kids.

so:

robb, aged 21, bran aged 15 and rickon aged 10 (he's a large bulky kid)

jon snow, aged 21

sansa aged 18 and arya aged 16 (she had a growth spurt at 14)

edwyn, oc, aged 5/6. he's a twin

harwyn, oc, aged 5/6. he's edwyn's twin

ned aged 42, catelyn aged 41. cat MIGHT be pregnant in this again

modern sansa: is into embroidery and knitting, is class valedictorian and gets teased about being a nerd (girl knows her history facts ok) but that’s ok because she’s more concerned about growing the readership on her poetry blog anyway, she has been paying the piano since she was 7 but now it just gathers dust in the family living room, she plays volleyball in school and may have “accidentally” hit Joffrey Baratheon in the face with one. adult sansa works as a writer for a fashion house, hosts a true crime podcast with her friend, Jeyne Poole, but they can’t retain listeners because they go into gratuitous detail about the gore, and hides her mills & boon behind her stack of fashion magazines. Has better relationship with Arya now

modern arya: 100% went through an emo phase because Jon went through an emo phase. Likes to hang out with Hot Pie and Gendry rather than the prissy idiots who go to her private school, she plays the electric guitar and that irritates the living hell out of her sister, she is on the football team and has ended multiple careers right on that field and we support that for her, is a tomboy through and through and an unflinching feminist (fuck you game of thrones) adult arya is a war-time reporter

Jon- needless to say, went through an emo phase. Is an accountant now for an oil oligarch whom he hates with all his might. Went to the same private school as the starks. Was captain of the football team (worst years of his life) but was voted out and hasn’t recovered since. Haggles at the farmer’s market and has a hard time not pissing off Gilly. Developed a pretty solid relationship with sansa as they grew up, to everyone’s surprise

I can't believe Brandon Stark rode up to his enemy's fortress and yelled at him to "come out and die" and that sentence is never spoken about ever??? As if it isn't the coolest most badass thing in the world???? I'm starting a petition to make it a family tradition. I want every single starkling yelling this at the top of their lungs at least once. I'm cheering them on already

a little tired of the “Jon had nothing to complain about growing up” conversation because Sansa learned her rules of bastardy from somewhere. She knows she mustn’t “dress above her station” and she knows it without being told. There is only one bastard she had seen live their life in the confines of a nobility they aren’t invited into. I don’t know why it’s so hard for some people to admit Jon is a second class citizen even in the Starks’ eyes. Even in their safe haven of Winterfell. Even though there is a deep and genuine love between them all.

hc that all the starklings had a musical education befitting a High Lord's kids (flute, lute, other instruments specific to the north like drums etc), except for jon. everyone assumes 'oh it's a bastard thing-' no. ned once saw jon playing a harp 2 months into his musical education with robb and almost vomited blood. he had every harp in winterfell thrown out alà sleeping beauty.
