dh il’s voice line about vidyadhara customs is making me ill - the vidyadhara put their hand on someone’s forehead to greet them. ik it's a greeting, but hear me out here: it's like a sign of familiarity, like you gained trust from someone such as dh il.
ok ok, so reader sneaks out of the castle when they were younger and found a wounded dragon. after the dragon was taken care of, he touched their forehead to thank them. years later, dh il saves reader from monsters at their castle but he's in his il form and reader's like "are you gonna kill me too?" and he touched their forehead and said "it's you." I might be wrong, but it's implied that dragons are an extinct species in the SDV universe. So like, what if the Farmer found a petrified dragon egg, or even a whole clutch, and somehow managed to hatch it/them Game of Thrones style? They've done some insane stuff both in canon, and in SVE and RSV so it's not hard to imagine they'd do the truly impossible like reviving not only an extinct species, but a magic species at that. Rambling aside, onto the question: how would the SVE mages (including Morgan) and adventurer's, and Mr. Aguar from RSV react to the farmer's feat of bringing dragons back to life?
(P.s, maybe add Mr. Qi as well bc I imagine he'd be VERY interested in this event)
You're 100% right
And it's interesting: I've long wondered why there was no mention of dragons anywhere in the notes or in the library, when there are skeletons and teeth of these very same dragons lying around in the Calico Desert and Ginger Island? And can serpents be considered descendants of these dragons?
Lance's mention of his teacher with the title "Dragon Master" also gives us the right to believe for the existence of dragons in the SDV world (although I used to think it was just such a cool title for his teacher. Or a reference to Lance's Pokémon trainer in general).
But enough rambling! Thanks for your ask and enjoy some short stories ☺️🫰
Warning: this post is long...

Marlon & Gil:
Marlon sipped his tea quietly in his Guildhall on a cold winter morning, to the crackle of a blazing fireplace and the soft snores of his friend, Gil. The one-eyed adventurer was enjoying a rare moment in his life - a quiet morning, with no worries about stocking up on provisions and elixirs, no worry about monsters...
But apparently the Yoba itself decided that Marlon had had enough of the peaceful time and presented him with a Farmer riding a dragon. The flying reptile with purple scales, beautiful as amethysts, along with its rider managed to smash through the old Adventurer's Guild roof, but thankfully no one was hurt.
If Marlon had only known Farmer for a few months, he would have been in mute shock at what he had seen. Now that the youth was a full member of the Guild for the second year, Marlon only sighed tiredly and went to the undestroyed room to get his tools. Dragons? Yes, he was interested in that. But questions later, first they need to fix the hole in the roof because it's cold winter outside, you know.
The Farmer will help, of course, as they are the direct cause of the collapsed ceiling. And the Gil will join in when he stops hiding his chuckle behind his snoring. He's been awake for a while now, and he can hardly contain his laughter (and his pride in Farmer) while pretending to be asleep.

Isaac:
If the quote "I don't get paid enough for this shit" were a person, Isaac would be the complete personification of that phrase.
Anyone would be shocked, amazed and delighted by the most beautiful and noble creatures that had extinct so long ago that many people no longer believed they existed and had come to regard them as a fairy tale and a legend. Anyone, but not Isaac. Because the moment the master of the dangerous reptiles appeared before Isaac's eyes - he wanted to bang his head against the wall.
Let no one dare tell him that 'Farmer is special' or 'Farmer knows what to do'. No, they don't know what they're doing! A bloody immature upstart who coddles a dangerous dragons like a puppies! That even now the curious reptiles are slowly moving towards Isaac to sniff and study him, a man they don't know. And how does HE know what the hell is going on in their heads?! Maybe they see him as just another snack, for Yoba's sake!
He won't be tempted to trade his own safety and the safety of other people for prickly curiosity. He will not, like the others, reach for the huge toothy maw, nor is he going to scratch the head of the purring (dragons can purr?) creature. Isaac goes to report the Farmer and the dragons to the Order of Pythagoras, and he doesn't care that he'll be disliked by many for such an act. It will take a long time before Isaac finally trusts the Farmer and their pets, but that will be a while yet. For now, the scarred adventurer will do what he thinks is right.

Lance:
After a long training in swordsmanship and magic spells, young Lance always waited with joy for his teacher to call him for a short break. After all, it was during the break that they would both go to the tavern, eating dinner, where his teacher would praise him for his success in the last training session, and most importantly, tell him another fascinating legend about monsters and creature. Even though his mentor was a "Dragon Master", they haven't met any dragons themself. Their great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, however, had seen the beautiful flying reptile once with his own eyes.
Oh, how Lance wanted to be the man who would see a dragon, how he wanted to believe they still existed!
It was just a childhood dream that Lance had long since grown out of. But life had given him an unexpected surprise.....
He slowly touched the dragon's snout, gently running his fingers over the warm scarlet scales. Taking his time, careful not to bring his fingers too close to the razor-sharp fangs. Lance almost couldn't tear his gaze away from the big amber eyes that watched him intently. Slowly turning his head towards the Farmer, the pink-haired adventurer saw a sign of approval that he could continue. Giving his friend a grateful nod, Lance turned his gaze back to the dragon. Who would have thought that gallant adventurer would have the opportunity not only to see this marvellous creature, but also to learn from Farmer how miraculously they were able to do the impossible.
It'll go down in Lance's memoirs for sure.

Jadu:
Due to insomnia, hard work with manuscripts and scrolls, and an unhealthy obsession with coffee, Jadu looked like the walking dead these days. Add to that the fact that the young wizard was as stubborn as an ass: no matter how much Lance tried to gently help his friend, no matter how much Isaac tried to force him into bed, and no matter how hard the others tried - to no avail. Jadu's goal was to finish the job - and he'd done it, and sleep was of secondary importance to him.
Naturally, this disregard for his sleep regime was not without consequences, and so Jadu, about to teleport back from the Stardew Valley to the Castle Village, didn't even realise how the world swam before his eyes and his body went limp. But before poor wizard lost consciousness, he felt that someone had grabbed him and would not let him fall. Half an hour later, Jadu realised that he was not lying on the cold ground, but in the warm embrace of someone... with scales? And wings? And claws on its paws?
Is he still asleep?
But as it turned out, he emerged from the realm of reverie and listened half-asleep to Farmer's restless speech. The sensation of inhuman skin and the word "dragon" made Jadu jump up as if scalded by boiling water and quickly get to his feet.
A dragon?! A real one?! Where from and how? Farmer, please explain! You raised it? Where? And what kind of dragon?! He'd studied the legends, but he'd never thought he'd meet a large reptile himself. And what do they eat, and how do they conjure? He need to know? Sleep? What sleep, he doesn't need that right now!
It took a lot of effort for the farmer to at least get Jadu back to a sitting position. It is not clear whether the noble reptile understood their words, but the creature's gaze was shrewd and full of wisdom. And amusement from this funny scene.

Morgan:
Morgan follows the familiar hidden path again, behind a flowering tree with a swing, where there is a hole in the farm's fence. Trying not to make any loud noise, Magnus' young apprentice walks through the tall grass, holding back a playful chuckle.
Even though the Farmer had long ago told them that they would always be welcome at the farm and would be treated to ripe fruit from the greenhouse, Morgan still chose to visit in this way, adding intrigue and fun to their dull routine of studying the history of the Republic and the bestiary.
The young talent once again wanted to go into the chicken coop, where there was a void chicken that the Farmer had allowed them to feed and even give her name (Morgan had named her Coal). But when Morgan looked into the coop, instead of the usual joyful clucking, they felt a smoky breath coming from a toothy mouth that definitely did not belong to a hen. In the dark wooden room, Morgan couldn't see who it was, so all they could do was run out of the coop screaming in terror and crying.
Luckily, the Farmer, who had arrived quickly, had time to calm the child and explain that a dragon lived here for the time being.
Morgan at the mention of the mythical creature completely forgot about everything in the world. A moment later, the Farmer was bombarded with questions and requests to see dragon again. The farmer allowed (taking Morgan's word that they would keep it a secret). Wow, dragons are even cooler that void chicken! Sorry, Coal...

Alesia:
Crazy... This was just a crazy idea. Maybe Alesia still had the option to refuse and get off the green dragon's back? Before she could say anything, however, Farmer gave the takeoff command to his winged friend, and they and Alesia, riding the dragon, began to separate from the ground higher and higher. The sniper was out of breath, and her mind was unable to comprehend what was happening. A farmer, a dragon - a living dragon! - and flying on top of a large reptile. How had all this happened for literally half an hour?
Alesia never thought she would agree to ride a dragon without a second thought. She felt a little ashamed, for she had been so quick to give in to temptation and curiosity, forgetting all about safety. But that view... Definitely worth it.
Finally when they landed and Alesia felt the solid ground beneath her feet, she had to temper her excitement and have a serious talk with Farmer. About the dragon, mages and adventurers should know. No, no arguments. It is better to let the senior adventures be warned, for it could happen that seeing Farmer on a dragon could mistake them for an enemy or potential threat. This is for the safety of both the humans and the Farmer with the reptile. The girl sees that this beautiful creature is significantly intelligent and wishes no harm to anyone. Therefore, she will feel safer if Farmer, as a responsible adult, makes the right decision.
But until they notified the Order and the others, Alesia would be interested to hear how the Farmer was able to not only raise the dragon themself, but also hide their existence from the others for so long. And, if the Farmer and the dragon itself are okay with it, to repeat another flight. Because that's was fun.

Magnus Rasmodius:
The Farmer couldn't have been happier when, after months of caring for the dragon eggs, they saw the first crack of the shell and a cute little scaly face emerge. One little flying lizard was followed by two more, and now the trio are chirping and flying merrily around their parent, already begging for attention and food.
What Farmer didn't know was that as the dragonlings hatched, a strong magical flow would come out of the eggs, which Magnus Rasmodius definitely felt.
Shocked at the unknown strong source of magic, the purple-haired wizard dropped everything he was doing and teleported to the Farmer's house. The magic that had broken through his barrier? But the barrier was still intact! Then what? An anomaly? A strong corrupting spirit? Ancient magic? And his apprentice is right at the epicentre! But while Magnus was filling his head with horrific scenes and preparing to recite the spell, teleporting straight into the living room of the Farmer's house, all his battle fervour deflated. And before Magnus's gaze was an unharmed Farmer, with three little dragons sitting on top of them, eating peach slices with gusto.
On the one hand, Magnus has an irresistible urge to smack himself on the forehead for having conjured up such scary scenes, when as an experienced magician he should always keep his composure. On the other hand, he really wants to scold the Farmer for another wild thing. His gut tells him that he has a very long report to write to the Ministry of Magic. He also needs a bottle of strong wine to get drunk and pass out after all this madness. Poor wizard is too tired to marvel at the very fact that dragons have been reborn. Maybe later...

Camilla:
My oh my... And how come the Farmer didn't tell her, Camilla, about this wonderful pet that breathes fire and can fly in the sky? She's their best friend, isn't she? And friends always share secrets with each other.... How did the Farmer manage to raise such a marvellous beauty? Really? Hmm, interesting.
Some might rightly resent that the head witch of Castle Village treats a dangerous mythical creature like a cute poodle. Even the dragon owner themself might be surprised that she doesn't show the reaction that people usually have at the sight of a big and scary dragon.
But even it look like Camilla in her favourite way is not serious about everything, it is not true at all. Quite the opposite, she will always put her duty to protect the people of the Village above all else. But she is confident in her abilities, so just in case the Farmer's scaly friend wants to make a little mischief in her domain, she will make sure that the creature never wants to appear on the Continent of Galdora ever again. But enough of that!
Camilla will become a more frequent visitor to the Stardew Valley, because the witch certainly won't miss the opportunity to study such an interesting specimen. Camilla also has some of the rarest pets, and the witch would like to get a dragon as well. Ah, what a cutie!

Dr. Aguar:
For a fortnight now, Aguar couldn't figure out why his body was tingling with magic like an annoying itch. For a fortnight he had been walking around irritated, unable to understand the source of this itch that was driving him crazy and preventing him from working in peace. It was only at the bus stop that Aguar realised that the closer he got to the farm, the stronger the tingling became. There's clearly something the strange Farmer is doing here.... Magnus had already mentioned that the youth had a magical gift, just like Aguar himself. But the former mage knows nothing much about the Farmer: not their motives, nothing. So Aguar wanted to find out what the Farmer does, and whether it has anything to do with this unbearable itch.
Before Dr. Aguar could even reach the porch of the Farmer's house, something blue flew out of the door at full speed, but he couldn't see it because of its speed. The Farmer ran out after it, calling to someone and waving their arms.
The thing stopped abruptly in mid-air and returned to the Farmer, wrapping their body around Farmer's right hand and growling merrily. The Farmer, barely out of breath, held their breath as they realised they had guests and that they could see the dragon. Aguar, on the other hand, crossed his arms and waited patiently for the Farmer to start the conversation themself.
So that's what it was...
A dragon, yes? And a dragon of the water element, Aguar's own element. Indeed, this little reptile was too young to control magic on its own. And the incessant flow of the same element's magic influenced the flow of the scientist's magic. Very interesting. That's what really caught Aguar's attention. He's really going to want to study the dragon. Oh, spirits, Farmer, there's no need to look at him as a bloodthirsty monster! He won't harm this little one.

Mr. Qi:
"Congratulations to you, Farmer. Once again you managed to exceed my expectations when your tending to the eggs I left behind succeeded. I didn't doubt the success one bit, of course not. I hope you enjoy your new pets, they are truly wonderful. Also, I'll put it on a note, they are fruit-eaters, so treat your dragons to fresh fruit often. Especially melon, these dragons love it. I already know that, hehe. Good luck to you, child. I'll keep watching your progress. And always remember, the key to success is within you."
The Farmer would probably have been surprised by a letter from Mr. Qi..... But alas, the little flying reptiles accidentally burned the paper before the Farmer could open anything.

I saw your requests are open! What about Luke Skywalker with a shapeshifter or size shifter boyfriend? Maybe his boyfriend feels most comfortable as this big imposing figure most of the time, but whenever Luke and him are alone, his boyfriend likes to make himself smaller to more easily cuddle up to the Jedi.
Maybe even going so far as to shrink himself down enough to be able to fit inside Luke’s pocket or clothes or something? I apologize if this is too much or too awkward!
Luke Skywalker x shapeshifter reader
Headcanons
Tumblr media
Reader can shapeshift instead of changing his size, as I know how to write that easier lmao. Hope that’s alright
-          The two of you met for the first time during a battle. Luke had been separated from the rest of the resistance. He was surrounded by at least 15 troopers, and tho he could use the force he was still unsure of his control.
-          When he was about to be overpowered, the troopers were knocked down by what looked like a large scaley tail. A reptile like beast with large tusks charged forward, shoving the sharp ends of its tusks into the husk of the ship the troopers had arrived in. With a twist of its large neck, it threw the now destroyed ship to the side.
-          Luke felt dread in his stomach as the beast turned towards him, but to his surprise it started shrinking and the large shape of a human, or near human, stood in its place.
-          You tugged Lukes arm over your shoulder, and half carried him back to where the resistance was gathered, as the fight was now over. On the way there you talked, and Luke learned you were a shapeshifter and the beast you had turned into was a Mythosaur.
  -          From there you grew closer and went on missions together. You acted as his protection most of the time and the brute strength needed in those situations. You tended to turn into large rideable creatures to move Luke around quickly, or protect him with thick hides or scales.
-          Along the way you both developed feelings for each other. Neither acted on them, other than lingering glances and flushed faces when others, mainly Han, made jokes and jabs about your apparent connection to one another.
-          It was first when the war was over, and the empire was destroyed that you both finally accepted your feelings completely. After almost losing each other, you know you couldn’t keep it to yourselves any longer.
  -          You had been the first to confess your feelings, at the celebration that was held after it all was over. Luke had stepped away from the crowd, most likely to grieve the corpse of his father that was being burnt.
-          Walking over to stand beside him, he turned and smiled. He looked exhausted and shaken to a degree. But there was something peaceful about him too, like he knew where he was meant to be in the universe.
-          As if drawn in by magnets or the force, you both leant closer to each other and kissed. When your lips met Luke seemed frozen, before he seemed to realize what was happening and threw his arms around your neck, drawing you in closer.
-          What you couldn’t see were the force ghosts of the three jedi watching you both. Yoda was snickering, as Obi wan shook his head in good nature. Anakin smiled to himself, happy to know his son had someone on his side.
  -          You decided to go with Luke to train the next generation of jedi. Though you knew nothing of the force, your ability to transform into any creature or person seemed to draw the children’s interest.
-          Most of the time you could be found as a nexu cat, draped over Luke’s shoulder, paws kneading at his robes and purrs leaving your throat. Luke would at times reach up to scratch behind your large ears or under your chin, or turn his head to kiss the top of your head.
-          Most nights you could be found in the shape of some small creature curled up on Lukes chest, his hands petting your fur, feathers or scales as you talked together. Seeing as you were a shapeshifter, it was possible for you to talk in any form.
-          Though sometimes you’d take the form of a smaller near human being, so you could curl up to his side and Luke could wrap you securely in his arms. There would also be days where you transformed into a larger, sometimes four armed near human, so Luke could be the one to be cuddled close.
-          Jedi life was peaceful, and spending it with Luke was all you could ever have dreamed of.

The black dragon and the coward CH. 13

- . - . - . - . - . - . - . - . - .- . - . -
The storm blew over and Tsuna was exhausted.
It’s been a damn long day and he was still injured, time to rest up. Reborn, who apparently read his thoughts, picked him up as easy as it gets and just said “Time for bed.” He didn’t even notice when the dragon changed forms again….. Definitely time to sleep.
Once again cradled in these strong and safe arms he let his mind slip away. To the forgotten days, the happy times. When Reborn put him down on the bed he was already fast asleep.
. - . - . - . - . - . - . - . - . - . -
Reborn was…...excited. There was a certain thrill and tension that he couldn’t shake. He wanted to hunt, to hurt, to burn. He wanted to finally act on his instincts but he knew that he had to wait, just this little bit longer! His tail thrashed form side to side and there was a constant low rumbling coming from his throat. If he was someone else he would be embarrassed but as things were standing no one would say anything.
A small giggle brought him out of his reverie and he looked over to the small brunette in his bed. Tsuna had a serious case of bedhead and had this little sleepy smile. He looked so relaxed and, dare he say it, beautiful. This right here, is how it should have been from the beginning. “Finally awake sleepyhead?” was the first thing he asked. Still smiling, the boy sat up and stretched his arms over his head. Then he stood up and cracked his back and neck. With each crack and pop another satisfied sigh left the boy's lips. Yes, this is perfection incarnate. A powerful and capable sky, right here beside him and just waiting for the rest of their strange family. Another content purr echoed through his den which made Tsuna laugh again.
After a simple but filling breakfast they started their preparations. There were dragons to welcome after all. The young heir tried to remember what he could and told Reborn about it. He in return confirmed or denied his facts, which helped him a great deal to sort his thoughts. That’s the moment when another thought occurred to him. What happened to Aria? He thought long about it. Should he ask his draconian companion? Did she make it? Or was there another grave somewhere? `Don’t think such depressing thoughts Tsuna!´. Realizing that there’s only one way to find out, he went looking for the black Dragon.
Said dragon sat waiting patiently, like he had anticipated Tsuna's arrival. “I know you Dame-Tsuna. You’ve still got something to ask.” was the answer to his unasked question. His smirk was visible even in his dragon form, impossible as it should be. Shaking his head and laughing the brunette settled down right in front of the other and looked him in his yellow eyes. “You’re right, there’s still something I would like to know. But I don’t really know if I want to hear the answer.” Humming softly, Reborn lowered his head to the ground and made himself comfortable. “Have you forgotten what Luce always told you? When there’s something you want to know-” he started. “- then don’t hesitate to ask. A simple question costs nothing but a bit of courage.” Tsuna finished. Visibly proud the reptile looked up to the sky and asked again. “So, what is it? Spill.” A few minutes there was nothing but the sounds around them, before he found his voice. “It’s just….. I mean I’ve been wondering…. Oh damn it! I wanted to ask about Aria!” The last sentence was almost a shout and Rebon wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. Aria was another rather sore spot but just like the rest, Tsuna deserved to know. With a sigh the dragon started his little story.
After the departure of his brothers Reborn was all alone with his memories. His memories and with Aria. He’s not stupid, he knows that she coulnd’t stay here with him. But where could he send her? Was there even a safe place for her? Watching the sleeping fledgling his heart broke again, as she grieved even when deeply asleep. With every new tear his resolve strengthened. This place can never again be home for her. Not this godforsaken place where her mother was ruthlessly murdered right in front of her. Not the place where her little brother was taken from her, while she was unable to do anything.
He thought. He thought long and hard, for days on end. But no solution would come to him. Until Aria herself contributed something. It’s been just a few weeks but she’s almost all grown up. This is the curse that all Skydragons share: a short childhood, followed by a just as short life. Sure, they still lived longer than humans but from a dragon's perspective their life was fleeting. “I know that you want to protect me. And I am thankful for all that you’ve done until now. But I don’t want to burden you further than this.” He waited in tense anticipation. It was clear that she was Luce’s child. Always prepared….
She continued with a small and sad smile. “I will go on a journey. I will visit many places and meet many people. Until someone catches my eye and I settle down.” Yellow eyes widened. This…...this was way too specific for some random plan! There was only one explanation: A Vision. Aria has her mothers gift. “I hope that you will take just as good care of my daughter when the time comes, because she is going to be an orphan way too early. But don’t worry, she won’t see a single thing.” Reborn couldn't respond to the sheer mass of information he was given. Aria has seen her whole life. Probably from the day after tomorrow until the day she dies. It’s just as fascinating as it’s sad….
But she seemed to understand this, for she said nothing about it. Not even when a few stubborn tears rolled down the usually stone cold face. “Please take care. If the day comes, visit her. She will be in the care of the Millefiore family and will also inherit our gift.” Now he was outright sobbing. He wanted to clutch her tight and never let go, but he knew better by now. He knew that when he woke up tomorrow she would be gone. So he pulled her closer and embraced her one last time, already mourning his second sky. She returned his hug just as tightly and shed quite a few tears herself. This man was like a father after all. Just like all the others that will never know of this. As they slowly pulled away from each other she said one last thing that would change everything for him. “And please do me a favour. Greet Tsunayoshi in my name when he returns, ok? And pamper him, because it won’t be easy for him. Be patient. You will forget, but you will also remember.”
The next morning was dark and gray and he stood alone in the pouring rain.
On that day he started to kill every human that ventured to far into the forest, too far into his territory. That was the day the legend of the Midnightblack Sundragon was born.
“It happened just like she said. She found a nice man and gave birth to Yuni. A raid on their village took first her husband and then herself, Yuni was away with some servants. Ever since that day she’s been with the Millefiore family. And there’s of course the part with the forgetting. I have absolutely no idea how or why this happened but I know that whatever it was, was lifted on the day I brought you back to this damned village.”
The young sky needed time to work through all this information. First of all: his fear came true. There WAS another grave for him to visit. His sister, gone, just like their mother but her daughter still safe and sound. Second: the reason Reborn and he couldn’t remember each other was because of an outside interference. And the third: clairvoyance is as handy as it is scary. His respect for Luce and Aria just went through the roof. Not to forget the poor Yuni…..who knows what she has already seen? `So many things to consider. And no time to dwell.´ Shaking his head Tsuna looked up at his friend. Reborn’s head was turned away from him, but he could still feel the tension, so he reached out and gently petted the dark scales. The reaction was instantaneous, Reborn relaxing and putting his head on the brunette's lap.
In this moment of peace he thought about the other Arcobaleno. Have they changed? Were they lonely during all these years? But most importantly: were they all ok?
Instead of all these things he asked something completely different.
“Ne ne, Reborn. Who do you think will arrive first?” Said dragon just blinked for a moment before snorting and then outright laughing. There’s no reason to be surprised, Tsuna was also Luce’s kid after all. Trying and failing to stop laughing for several minutes the mythical creature stood up again and looked up. “What a stupid question. Since the closest thing to the sky, the sun, is already here, there's just one possibility. There’s just one single person that could arrive here first. A drifting cloud, never to be bound.” Just as he finished his sentence a loud chirping and the rustling of feathers could be heard. Both sounds grew louder and closer and Tsuna couldn’t wait. The drifting cloud was none other than Skull! Beating wings came into view, followed by the dark purple body and the swishing tail. Another chirp sounded and this time Reborn answered with his own call. Their eyes met even over this distance and the Clouddragon started his neck breaking decent.
Feet touched the ground and carved their way thru the soil until he stood still right before the boy he had missed dearly, right beside the brother that called them back. Still not quite believing his eyes he hesitated. What if this was nothing but a cruel, cruel dream? But then Reborn stood up and came impossibly closer, only to nudge him with his maw and nipping playfully on his beak. `Not a dream then.´ The next thing he knew he laid a few meters away on the ground, apparently the black of the other whipped him away. Literally. But… the sting was shockingly pleasant, so he just got up again, shook out his scales and bound over again. First he tackled his fellow dragon down and cuddled with him. But even if the Sundragon complained, he didn't throw him off. Next thing he did was transform and then kneel before the poor boy, almost as if was worshipping him. Instead of praise tho, only apologies left his mouth and that just wouldn't do. Careful hand reached out and took hold of his now wet cheeks. Slowly raising his head he was met with the gentle brown they had tried to protect. One hand carted through his violet hair and soothed him, gave him comfort he hasn’t had since he was captured. “It’s ok Skull.” Completely overwhelmed, he flung himself in Tsuna’s arms and was glad to be caught.
An hour, maybe even two went by before the next dragon came home.
None of them looked up, the wind telling them who had arrived the moment their master was close enough. Red scales shone brightly and the young Vongola just stepped forward with outstretched arms. Shortly after that he was rewarded with the big and fluffy head of the Stormdragon. He pet the white mane and put their foreheads together as a symbol of familiarity. The following grumbling was as sweet as it was calming and gave him the opportunity to ignore the other two in the background where Reborn just sat atop of Skull, not caring if the other had enough air to breath. But he still heard the quiet “The furios storm that never rests.” and couldn't be happier.
Just then the ground started to shake and tremble, until a rather large hole had opened up right where they stood. The first one to emerge was the bulky form of the Lightningdragon, who immediately stomped over to him, while the indigo coloured snake made its way over to the other dragons….. Only to start choking Skull. Already tired of this Fon also made his way over, at least to make sure that they wouldn’t kill the third one. Tsuna just watched for a short moment, when a long maw nudged him in the stomach and a small and harmless lightning bolt rushed across his arm. Giggling he scratched the crocodile look alike right between the eyes and earned a thumping foot. When Verde had enough he switched places with Viper, only without the choking part…. The closer Viper came, the smaller he got and when he was at the boys feet he just waited till he was offered an arm. Slowly crawling up the limp he made his home right around Tsuna's neck, like a living and breathing and very venomous necklace. “Welcome home our dear protective lightning rod and bewildering Mistdragon.”

The day was almost over and one Arcobaleno was still missing. “What the fuck is Colonello doing out there? Picnicking?” While Skull laughed at that Verde looked rather thoughtful. “He is still bound to the waters if he wants to travel efficiently. But the nearest ocean is a few miles behind that accursed village.” With that he caught everyone's attention, because he was right. “Do you think something happened to him?” asked Tsuna worried. The green haired man looked away before shrugging. “It is a possibility.” Just as Tsuna wanted to say something else, Reborn was beside him and shielded him with one of his wings. That's the only heads up they got as a torrent of rain came over them. If Reborn hadn’t reacted, Tsuna would be soaked to the bone. But everyone wasn’t so lucky. Just watching the still draconian fish roll around laughing made the boy shake his head. `He deserves what's coming for him.´ Melodious giggles promptly cut off as electricity crackled through the air and Verde changed between one flash and another. “RUN.” Colonello didn’t need to be told twice. Because his fins were practically useless on land he changed as well and booked it out of the cave they had waited in. Verde gave him three seconds of a head start and then set off after him.
All of the others just listened as the newcomer tried to calm the raging crocodile but he had no such luck. Reborn smirked, Fon just drank his tea, Skull laughed like there was no tomorrow and Viper just shook his head in exasperation. “Those two are just as bad as you and Skull, Reborn.” Said dragon just shrugged with his shoulders and answered “I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.”
A loud scream tore through the night, right before a bright green flash could be seen…… No one moved but as a rather satisfied Lightningdragon returned it was clear what happened out there. “Uhm………” Sighing the black Sundragon took it upon himself to go look for the blonde. Grabbing a big glass of water from the table he went outside. Tsuna wasn’t sure if it was good or bad that he heard nothing yet. But when both dragons returned he was relieved. Colonello had a few burnes, electricity still crawling along his skin and hair standing on end but looked better than expected. `The rain that washes away the blood has also returned.´ The Arcobaleno were together again.
Looking around this strange and chaotic group of people he has the honor to call family, Tsuna couldn't help his tears. This is what he wanted, what he had missed after returning `home´. This is what no one at the village would or could give him. Not even his own parents.
Several arms engulfed his small frame and held him close, while six different tones hummed Luce's lullaby for him. He grabbed onto the closest person, this being Fon this time and just enjoyed the closeness and the warmth. Yes, this is HOME. This and nowhere else.
That night, the only Vongola heir slept surrounded by six lethal dragons. Creatures said to kill in cold blood and are able to hold quite a grudge. But Tsuna never felt saver.
Tomorrow, he would visit Yuni with Reborn. Tomorrow, they will plan what to do with the village that had failed to raise him and to keep him. Tomorrow…... he just couldn’t wait.

Chap 4
“It's confirmed,” she said with a soft smile, then looked at Hotch. “Congrats, Dad, it's a teenaged girl!”
Hotch was driving home to pack extra things into his bag when he realised that he should probably fetch Jack first. After all, if he remembered correctly, Jack was meant to be having an art day at school and the last thing he wanted to do was take Jack on a plane covered in paint and other art supplies. He had requested that Garcia book accommodation for them as the last thing he wanted was to arrive in Paris and find out the was nowhere for them all to stay, so he knew they would be staying in the Grand Paris Hotel, they would pay for their rooms after they arrived though.
That planned he picked up a very messy, yet excited Jack and got everything else that he needed done sorted and met the team at the airport. He was admittedly a bit nervous, after all, he'd just found out he had a teenage daughter and he had no idea if she knew that Tom wasn't her father. The team boarded without any issues and settled in for the flight. Since D.C was 6hrs behind Paris, despite them leaving at 1 pm they would be landing in Paris at 6 pm.
They had been on the plane for about an hour when Reid, who had been quiet for the most part, spoke up.
“I think we should look into Marinette's teacher as well as the two girls Matt mentioned.” Seeing the confused looks he continued, “While it may be possible that the teacher hasn't noticed what is happening with Marinette. If we go by what Matt said about how she seemed relieved that an adult other than her parents believed her, I think we can deduce that the school hasn't supported her. I read through the records about her that Garcia was able to get and her school file indicates that she has almost been expelled a few times since Miss Rossi joined the class. I find that strange because before that she had an almost spotless record there is even a note stating that she is generally quiet but will stand up to bullies. If you then take Frances' policy of emphasising the teacher's authority and how much they stress analytical thinking, it paints a picture of either a weak-willed teacher or one that just doesn't care.”
“I see where you going with this Pretty Boy, you think that the teacher has seen everything that Marinette is going through but instead of trying to help her, she's making Marinette lock away her natural reaction of standing up for herself in favour of trying to maintain the status quo. Marinette has probably tried to speak to her teacher but been told to simply keep quiet, which has then lead to her classmates thinking that she's been reprimanded and that what they are doing is the right thing.” Morgan sounded contemplative as he spoke.
“I could see that happening if the teacher wasn't very experienced with teens or perhaps was better suited to teaching much younger children.” This time it was Prentiss that spoke up. “Garcia can you-”
“Already ahead of you there. Records sent to your tablets but to summerise what I have found this is Caline Bustier's first teaching position, she applied to only teach art as she wanted to gain a bit more experience before teaching full classes. She has a history through her school career of fading into the background whenever there was any conflict near her. Ironically enough she was always found at the scene of a fight but never seen to be directly involved.” Garcia's fingers were flying over the keys of her laptop even as she gave her brief report.
JJ frowned, “Do you guys think she could have instigated those fights only to step back as the fight got bigger? I don't think I'd want to let her near my kids if that was the case.”
“That's presuming the parents knew about her history in the first place,” Reid interjected.
By this stage, Hotch was glad he had had the forethought to pack a tablet with games and movies along with headphones for Jack. He knew how strong Jack's sense of right and wrong was and knew that if Jack heard about what was happening to his big sister he wouldn't be happy. When he had told Jack where they were going and why Jack had just about bounced off the walls even as he promised to be the best little brother in the world. Apparently, some of his classmates had older siblings then themselves and Jack had been jealous of the bond they seemed to share.
The rest of the flight passed in much the same manner with the only pause in the conversation being for their in-flight meal as Jack took his headphones out while he was eating. They spoke about the backgrounds that had been pulled up for each of the people in Marinette's' class and felt they knew which ones would have been swayed and why as well as which ones would keep quiet out of fear. By the time their plane landed, they had agreed they would have to talk to Marinette first but they were pretty sure she would want to change schools to get away from all the negative memories that had been formed by her class.
The trip from the airport to the hotel was also uneventful however that changed soon after their arrival. They checked into the hotel and received their key card and were just about to gather their luggage when something large and scaley ran past them fairly quickly. It stopped near the doors watching them eagerly, it's tail waving wildly. They blinked then Reid broke the silence.
“Either I am seeing things or that is a crocodile. What is a crocodile doing in Paris, let alone in an upmarket hotel?” The team couldn't answer however it seemed they didn't need to as their answer arrived in the form of a teen with Ravens wing blue hair pulled into pigtails walked through the door, only to drop what she was holding as she fell to the floor with a lap full of the reptile.
“FANG!” she yelped. “Hey, silly boy why are you down here and not upstairs with your dad? You know you not allowed out of the room without a lead on. Did you escape just too great me?” Even as she calmed down and spoke, she was rubbing its jaw showing absolutely no fear of it despite its size. She even seemed to scold it through the giggles that were now trying to escape her lips. The huge croc simply rumbled in what could only be described as a purr. Another teen stalked into the reception hall to see what the commotion was, only for a sneer to cross her face.
“Uugh, it's you. Seriously why are you even here?”
“Hello to you too, Chloé. I'm sure I don't have to explain myself to you so instead of fighting, why don't I simply take Fang back to his room and then you don't have to see me.” As she replied to Chloé, she pushed the croc off her lap and gathered the bags that she had been carrying. They seemed to be clothing bags of some description. She then looked up and the BAU realised who the girl was, Marinette. Why was she here on a Friday night? Shouldn't she be at home? Why was she so comfortable around such a large crocodile?
“Fine! Just get out of my sight. This is ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!” The blond, Chloé, spun on her heel, flicked her hair and flounced off. Marinette looked at the BAU and seemed to read their confused faces as confusion over Chloés' behaviour.
“Don't worry about her,” she said reassuringly, “ Chloé is always like that, her father is the mayor and owns this hotel. She was also one of the temporary hero's at one stage so she likes to act like everyone else is beneath her.” She then looked down at the crocodile, “Right, let's go, Fang, your papa is probably pulling his hair out looking for you. I have his and Penny's order with me, they just need to have their final fitting then we can have some more cuddles, how does that sound?” The crocodile pranced in place, acting more like a big puppy rather than the reptile he was, then as Marinette walked towards the elevator he walked next to her, as perfectly behaved as any army dog. As she got the elevator she frowned then looked at them again.
“Since there are so many of you would some of you like to travel up with Fang and me? He's a big softy who wouldn't hurt a fly, I promise.”
Jack immediately started tugging Hotch's hand, “Please Dad? I want to pet him!”
Hotch smiled softly yet worriedly, he was a little nervous for this to be his first interaction with his daughter but his paternal instinct wanted him to get to know her and find out why she was here with garment bags in the first place. JJ noticed his dilemma and volunteered to go up with them. Hotch smiled at her in relief and the three of them joined Marinette just as it arrived so they all piled in. Marinette quickly showed Jack how to pat Fang and the croc seemed to lap up the attention. It was pure chance that they were all going to the same floor so when the doors opened again Marinette let them out first then walked out only to be greeted by an overly loud shout.
“MARINETTE! And you found Fang for me! Rock on!”
 @virgil-is-a-cutie for the idea about madam Bustier
@a-marlene-s for all her support! You Rock!

Monster Family Ch 1
Ch 1 My Dad is King
Within the state of New York just off the island of Manhattan the HEAT team was just laying around their base with no mutations that were currently threatening anything, so HEAT was on an unofficial vacation. That was until the base was flashed with redlights and the sound of sirens screeched throughout the dilapidated building, soon the team began to race to their boat.
“What’s happening?!?” Elsie yelled out as she began to sprint towards the HEAT Seeker.
“Apparently the G-Man is making a beeline somewhere, and he’s booking it majorly.” Randy explained as he ran towards the service elevator, it took ten minutes for the team to get ready to follow Godzilla but during that time the mutant king had gained an enormous head-start. As the team followed the massive mutant’s path they began to feel a sense of familiarity as the boat sped forwards.
“Monique where are we heading?” Nick asked the French agent at the helm, she quickly looked at the navigation equipment and realized something.
“We are heading to Scotland.”  She answered though she sounded more confused than assured, but Nick had a theory on why Godzilla was traveling to the land of lakes. As they entered the River Ness they saw the damage from Godzilla’s travel, fishing boats strewn aside or beached, docks destroyed and deep gouges in the soil and dirt. HEAT just looked at this destruction in shock and in Monique’s case her views were strengthened by looking at the damage, as they maneuvered through the damages they could hear a voice.
“Ey, could ya elp me out ere!” A gruff, deep voice called out the owner of the voice being an Scottish man with wet silver and copper hair clinging to a piece of driftwood. Nick signaled his team to move port side and to throw the rope ladder to the stranded man, in a few short seconds the soaked man climbed onto the the boat as he began to rub his shoulders trying to get warm.
“Thank ya kindly, the water was gettien nippy.” The Scottish man graciously told the team of heat as continued to try and get warm. “Can you tell us why Godzilla caused this much damage?” Nick asked the Scotsman as Elsie gave the man a blanket to stop the shivers, the Scotsman gratefully took the thick piece of cloth. “I dun know laddie, I even let ta fish go but dat beastie was focused on something. Names Hammish by de way seems rude if I didn’t intaduce meself.” The Scotsman introduced himself to the mutant hunters, Hammish’s response confused the team even more so. “Thank you Hammish, would you like us to drop you off somewhere?” Nick asked the man wanting a way to repay the man for the troubles that happened. “Nah, I want te come wit ya. Always wanted ta see te beasties since I saw dem on te news.” Hammish told the team with a wishful smile on the olds Scott’s face, though the team had a few reservations about this but there were almost no docks to drop off the man. So the team went ahead to the lake and as they did they came across a rather odd site, it was the juvenile Nessie was splashing around seemingly happy.
“Ummmm, shouldn’t a big angry momma somewhere.”  Craven whimpered out as he began to scan the water for the larger mother’s skin, tail or whirlpool caused by the large creature. Oddly enough besides the adolescence Nessie there didn’t seemed to be any other sign of giant reptiles, which someone quickly took notice of.
“Where are ze creatures?” Monique questioned the group as she began to critically scan the area in case of any traps, but nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. Until the young Nessie began to act odd as it began jump in the water, splash around like a happy child; and soon the little reptile began swim towards a certain area of the loch.
“Woah, what's got Nessie Jr in such a rush?” Randy asked the group as they watched the young monster rushed towards to the east side of the lake, and carefully the Heat team began to follow the young monster. Once the young Nessie stopped the team began to notice an odd site, it was Godzilla hiding among the trees. The younger monster let out something that sounded like a mix between a human chuckle and a sea lion bellow with her head aimed at the larger monster. Soon the massive dinosaur like monster rose up and showed the the passengers on the Heat Seeker a rather odd or amazing sight, the king of mutations leaned down to the young monster and nuzzled it like cat would do with a kitten.
“Did he just?” Elsie turned to look at Nick who looked just as confused as the rest of them. Hearing waves splash against the side of the boat, everyone braced themselves as mother Nessie rose her head out of the water nearby, giving a gentle rumble before spraying both Godzilla and Nessie Jr with a broad blast of water from their maw.
“Are they...playing?” Craven asked in disbelief as Nessie swam over to nuzzle her child and Godzilla, the larger Kaiju letting out an answering rumble, making a weird sort of tune that echoed across the water.
“It seems like they are.” Nick answered just as surprised, Randy already pulling out a hand camera to get the sight before them as Nessie, Nessie Jr and Godzilla all seemed to talk to each other and were more relaxed than any of them had seen, outside of being asleep. “When do think this happened?” Nick said, seeming to put the question to all of them,
“I don’t think this is a recent thing. I mean they were okay with each other when they met the first time” Craven mused aloud. As they thought they hadn’t noticed the boat drifting on the current closer to Nessie Jr. As they were all talking amongst themselves the young kaiju took notice of them and made their way over, poking their head over the edge to listen.
“Mutation distance at maximum.” Nigel beeped out as he began to drive away from the young creature and to the otherside of the boat, as well as into the loch.
“AAahhhh.” The robot screeched as it sank to the bottom. Hearing the scream the entire crew turned to see Nessie Jr watching them and a few of them yelled in panic. The sudden noise made the mutant jerk back and make a small, upset sounding noise, Godzilla and Mama Nessie’s heads immediately swung around to look at them.
“Ooooh crap” Craven hissed,Nick quickly put his hands out and put himself in between the HEAT crew and the kaiju,
“It’s okay. You’re okay” he said softly, Nessie Jr cocking their head to the side, as if trying to understand and was curious about Nick. Godzilla nudged the young monster to the scientist as if to tell her it’s true, but that moment was ruined when an angry voice called out over the sound of an approaching outboard motor.
“Oi, ya bloody gits leave those two alone!!” All heads turned to the voice to see a small metal dingy carrying a barrel-chested, middle aged man with shocking red hair and beard streaked with grey, dressed in a heavy, black trench coat, and a kilt.
“Bless me bagpipes! That’s Bearnard Allanach, wot is e doing ere!?!” Hammish exclaimed in shock as Bernard’s boat pulled up alongside them. Nessie Jr looked confused and slid back into the water, moving behind Bearnard’s boat. Nick moved to the edge of the Heatseaker and looked down,
“Um, hello there. Can we help y-?” he asked before the man cut him off,
“Yes you bloody can!” Bearnard barked, “Ye can leave Nessie and Nelly alone fer one. And fer two ye can get the hell off the loch” Nessie Jr gave a soft sound and nudged Bearnard’s shoulder, making the man pause his tirade, turning to pet her nose, “You doin’ alright wee Nelly? I didne mean to scare ya, ye know that righ?” he cooed and Nessie Jr gave a happy, chirping noise. Nick watched on amazed, even more so that momma Nessie was seemingly talking with Godzilla to calm the larger kaiju.
“Wait. They like you?” Nick said and Bearnard shot him a glare,
“A’ course they do. The Allanach Clan have looked after the Ladies of the Loch fer generations, e’er since we settled here” he said bluntly, still stroking Nessie Jr’s nose. Nick smiled,
“If that’s the case can we invite you on board? I think we have a bit in common” Bearnard looked a bit wary but Nessie Jr gave him a nudge,
“A’right. Toss a ladder and I’ll be right wid ya” In a few short moments Nick and Randy tossed down the rope ladder for the rather cross Scotsman, and soon enough he was on board the Heatseeker.
“Alright, I’m here now get off the Loch.” Bernard demanded and Nick held up his hands defensively,
“Hang on a second Mr Allanch. If I could direct your attention that way” he said as he pointed over to where Nessie and Godzilla were ‘talking’ to each other, Nessie Jr swimming over to the two larger kaiju to nuzzle at them both.
“Wot’s the big lizard with Ness and Nell?” he asked and Nick smiled,
“That’s Godzilla. From America. And I think he sees me how Nessie and Nessie Jr-”
“Nelly” Bearnard huffed and Nick nodded,
“Right, Nelly” he amended, “how they see you” he explained and Bearnard raised a brow,
“So, Godzillah there listens to ya?” he asked.
“It depends if Junior is in a mood or not.” Elsie joked but was shot a glare from Nick to act like an adult for this moment.
“Yes he does, he sees me as an adoptive father.” Nick seriously informed the scotsman who looked unconvinced but seeming to understand,
“From what I hear yer Godzilla’s been a menace” he huffed, “Maybe cause ya still treat ‘im like a wild animal”
“How else are ve supposed to treat him?” Monique asked Bernard,
“How about like family?” he said, moving over to the edge of the Heatseeker and his demeanour seemed to flip, “Nelly~! Come here ya wee troglodyte~! Uncle wants a cuddle~!” Nessie Jr’s head shot up and, getting an affirmative from Mama Nessie, sped through the water towards the boat. Stopping short she bowed her head down to nuzzle at the scot, making a sound akin to a happy purr, Bearnard cooing all the time. The Heat team and Hammish just looked in shock at what just happened, the mutation just allowed a human to pet it like it was an animal at a petting zoo. Meanwhile Bernard just gave the team a cocky smile as he continued to pet the young monster. “Y’see. This is what happens when ya act like family” he looked over to Nick, “Care to try it with your beastie?” he asked, motioning to the dingy.
Nick seemed hesitant at first but he then walked toward the dingy and  boated to the two monsters, the two looked down at the lone scientist especially Godzilla. Soon he outstretched a hand,
“Hey Junior. It’s me” he said softly, kinda feeling a bit awkward and unsure. Soon the giant lizard mutation leaned down to the scientist and closed his eyes, and Nick began to pet him like a dog. The scientist just let out a small chuckle as this happened. “That’s it son.” Nick said softly, Godzilla making a soft, rumbling noise, seeming to enjoy the attention, “is this all you wanted? A little bit of love?” he asked and Godzilla gave a louder rumble, as if in affirmation.
Back on the boat, Randy had the camera out. Elise, Monique and Hammish were looking stunned, Craven was thinking about what this all meant and Bearnard was just smiling, still with a hand on Nelly’s neck.
“See what I mean. A little bit a’ trust ‘nd affection can do wonders” Bearnard said proudly. Soon enough Nick came back to the boat, an expression of true wonder on his face and Bearnard moved over to clap him on the shoulder, “C’mon lad, let’s get back to mine fer some tea and a chinwag” he said and Nick nodded,
“Lead the way” he said. Bearnard jumping back into his dingy and leading them to a rather large four story house with a dock on the south end of the Loch by the river. All of them piling out over the dock and up into the home that felt like it had been lived in and fixed up over generations. “C’mon, let’s get comfy” Bearnard said, leading them into a sitting room filled with soft couches, chairs and low coffee tables, “Settle yerselves, I’ll make tea” he said before leaving them all to talk.
“ I gotta say jefe what you did took some guts.” Randy complimented as he began to make himself comfortable on one of the couches, taking up most of the space as he laid on it.
“How did you know he wouldn’t kill you?” Monique asked as she leaned against the wall, looking at the area to see if they needed an escape route. Soon though Bearnard came back with a large silver platter with refreshments ranging from simple tea to ale, with a few sandwiches as well.
“Aight laddies and lassies, how long ave ye known the black beasty?” Bearnard asked the Heat Team as he sat down in a rather large ornate chair with what seemed to be fangs on top of the it , his eyes hard and unmoving as he judged the group.
“Well, since Godzilla was a baby. I found him in the sewers just after he hatched” Nick said, grabbing a cup of tea, “He seemed to have bonded to me, like a baby chick to its mother” Bearnard smiled
“It’s more than that laddie” he said, picking up a glass of ale, “You showed that today. That there beastie has picked ya ta be their spokesman, so ta speak” he said and the entire crew looked at Nick then at Bearnard,
“What do you mean? Godzilla bonded with Nick because he was the first living creature he saw out of the egg” Elise said and Bearnard shook his head,
“They’re smarter than ya give them credit fer lass” he said, “All these big beasties could be smarter then all’a us. They feel like we do, as you could see with Nessie, Nelly and your Godzilla” he said with a smile, “And as I said, me family’s been lookin’ after the Ladies of the Loch fer generations. They know who are good folk and who ain’t” he added proudly, though there was still an air of confusion in the room.
“Wait so Jefe is going to start signing the Big G for contract deals?” Randy asked as he picked up a sandwich from the tray, of course the more adult members just rolled their eyes at the terrible joke.
“  Tha's not wha' 'm gettin' at ya numpty. I mean yer the one they go ta fer talkin' ta people!” Brandon exclaimed to the young the young hacker a glare which caused him to slightly falter under the gaze of the scotsman.
“Wha’ I mean is ‘aht the beasties ‘re protectors and they need someone ta speak to and fer ‘em.”  Bernard further explained as he took a sip from his cup to soothe his throat from all this group of tourists were giving him. Nick currently had his hand stroking his chin in thought, but soon a thought  came into his mind.
“Bernard if us and our respective monsters have this type of bond who else does?” Nick asked the Scotsman who quickly tried to answer but no answers came out and began to think about what the mutant scientist just said. As he did all around the world odd occurrences, an earthquake in the desert, a volcanic island began to smoke, all over Australia sandstorms were blowing across the continent, just off the coast of Africa the ocean began to froth and bubble, lastly inside a secret lab a new life and a new sport was born.

Fic Prompts: Star Wars Wednesday
So the two ideas that came to me are actually going to end up two different prompts. I'm planning All Hail Shmi for week after next, though it will loosely connect to this one, so this one is Nature Hates Sith Lords
~~~~~~~~~~~☆☆☆☆~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sheev Palpatine was a man of progress. Whatever the newest scientific advances were, he knew about them first. The most up-to-date technology? He already owned it. As he comfortably ensconced himself in the inner workings of the Republic like a spider in his web, he assured himself that he would be at the forefront of all knowledge.
And yet despite all the great minds reporting to him, and the forbidden lore of the Sith, there were yet things that utterly escaped the grasp of his understanding.
Sheev Palpatine was not loved by animals.
This did not bother him in the slightest at first. An animal was to be used, like people were, in his opinion. Let its fear and hatred fuel him if it could, why not make use of that? But this was more than being hissed at by the occasional spoiled purebred tooka in the arms of a senator's consort.
Shortly after the battle with the Trade Federation, Palpatine barely avoided tripping and breaking his neck when a hairless lothcat wound itself around his ankles with a rumbling growl that could be mistaken for a purr. Presumably the Force had not warned him of the event because an animal did not have evil intent. Nevertheless, Palpatine began relying on foresight more. And for irony's sake, he brought the bald lothcat home and named it Mister Malevolent.
Mister Malevolent lived up to his name many times over and was quickly foisted on some unsuspecting victim at a party. The next time Sheev saw him, Mister Malevolent looked more smug than a lothcat had any right to look while Queen Breha of Alderaan fussed over him.
That could be attributed to the fickle nature of felines. Sheev didn't care, particularly. But then that devilish Skywalker woman had the temerity to appear in his offices carrying a beast that even the Force had forsaken. The Force quickly forsake him as well, the moment she came into the room.
"Good afternoon, Chancellor," Shmi said pleasantly, and Sheev didn't like that he couldn't read the feelings behind her forever-stormy eyes. "I'd heard that Senator Amidala might return to Coruscant soon from her diplomatic mission. Such a sweet girl, it will be nice to see her again. Ani told me you might know when she would be arriving?"
He'd given her some trite answer, something warm and friendly and sickeningly polite, and then could no longer resist demanding some kind of explanation. "If you don't mind my asking, Miss Skywalker, just...just what is it you've brought to my office today?"
Shmi smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. Few of her smiles did in public, Anakin had assured him that this was fairly standard for her. "Oh, isn't she darling?" she stroked the furry head of the foot long reptile, who let her tongue loll out as she basked in the attention. "That fellow from the wild place, oh...what was his name, it was quite long...the frighteningly intelligent one..."
That did not describe very many people that Palpatine knew. "Thrawn?" he suggested.
"Ah yes! Thrawn!" Shmi nodded and let the lizard crawl further up her shoulder. "Ollie here was a gift from Thrawn. To keep me company, he said, since Anakin is so rarely able to visit."
"And that is a shame, isn't it?" Palpatine ignored the unholy gleam in the four eyes of the indomitable Ollie and turned the conversation to a favored subject. "Do you know, I read once that generations ago, the Jedi cooperated with the families of their initiates, and fostered some kind of community. It could have been propaganda, naturally, but it does seem like the Order has lost something, doesn't it?"
"Oh, Chancellor, you don't want to hear my thoughts about that," Shmi said modestly, "You'd be here all the next week!"
She took her leave shortly after, and Palpatine felt the Dark Side creep sullenly back into the room by increments. He gathered it tightly around itself and it curdled and settled as if insisting that it hadn't really made a break for it, you know, wasn't as if it was scared. But that pet of the Skywalker woman's was just all sorts of unnatural.
Palpatine knew a thing or two about "unnatural", and also about experiments, and therefore had no right to talk whatsoever.
It might have ended there, but it didn't. The longer he wove his plans together, the more he tangled the Senate and the Jedi and Skywalker in his web, the more the natural world seemed to rebel against him. Birds swooped at him in public. Rats refused to even touch the garbage he threw away. His shoes and robes had been befouled by more subspecies of canine than he could count as the war went on. And each time, he was in public. With a Jedi, or surrounded by influential people, so that he could not deal with the affront as a Sith ought to.
Sheev developed a theory: while not generally Force sensitive in any useful sense, animals were capable, somehow, of sensing the presence of the Dark Side. And it clearly agitated them. That was fascinating and bore some investigation, but it was also deeply inconvenient. Sooner or later, some Jedi was probably going to wonder why so many animals hated him.
Between that, the formidable Shmi and her Devil-Reptile Ollie, and Anakin drifting slightly from his guidance, Sheev began to feel almost that the Force was mocking him. The Dark Side would come crackling to his call whenever he went to reassure himself of his power, but it was a fickle, petulant thing. Something wilder and wider and connected to all living things seemed at times to muffle it, sometimes drowning the swell of negative emotions welling up from the many levels of Coruscant with the sheer effervescence of life. Warnings seemed to delay slightly, and his foresight became full of stranger and stranger things. Sheev's one comfort was that, according to the unintended admission of young Anakin, many of the Jedi were experiencing something very similar.
It was if the Force had been with them for so long that it had somehow tired, perhaps, of being taken for granted.
Nowhere was this untamed Force more apparent than on Naboo.
Six minutes after his arrival at flock of bogwings, known to carry up to nine times their own body weight, began swooping around him. With a little subtle misdirection in the Force, Sheev was able to trick them into carrying off an aide. The man had been particularly good at halving paperwork, too, which was particularly annoying.
Sheev was very good at deceiving others, but he didn't usually make a habit of deceiving himself. Nevertheless, it would not do to assume that the Force was not with him, simply because some animals were agitated by the presence of the Dark Side. After all, the Dark Side of the Force was still the Force.
And then a kaadu did its level best to charge the speeder they were in.
And a flock of nunas set up a horrific racket as they passed the stall selling them.
And as they passed one of the oceans of his homeworld, the waters churned and roughened into white-capped waves. Palpatine caught a glimpse of the armored, sinewy body of an opee sea killer, a rare sight on the surface. The monstrous fish seemed to be contemplating a leap for the bridge, and Palpatine wondered if he would be forced to repel the creature.
"My goodness," Quarsh Panaka shook his head in disbelief as the opee returned reluctantly to the depths. "There must be a storm on its way. I've never seen this many animals behave like this -- not even when the Trade Federation invaded all those years ago, though that was close."
"Indeed," Sheev forced himself to use a kindly and vaguely interested tone. "I find it fascinating that animals, dumb brutes though they may be, can sometimes more clearly perceive a coming disaster than people can, for all their cleverness."
He allowed himself a satisfied smile, knowing the man sharing the speeder with him was one such human insensible to the danger they invited into their palaces and senates. "Indeed, the Force works mysteriously."
Behind him, the Force mysteriously inspired a swarm of flying insects to spell out a very rude word.
And still Palpatine told himself it was nothing.
And then the Zillo Beast laid waste to an entire district of Coruscant in a fervent attempt to find him and reduce him to little more than a bad case of indigestion. Palpatine began to consider then that perhaps the Force was not so impersonal as he preferred to believe, or else someone very strong was targeting him.
Of course, by the time he reached that conclusion, it was already far too late.
Small is Cute | Ike (Fire Emblem) | Modern!AU
@may-vin and @xi-lyrica, this is all your fault. LOL. Also if you’d like to see art correlating to this, please check out this post by the lovely and beautiful Morgan.
"[F/N]! Dr. [L/N]!" The call of your name makes you glance up from the files you were looking over one last time. Your assistant pops her head in, strands of brown locks blocking her face as they fall out of the messy bun atop her head. "Yes, Mist?" The petite girl steps in, and in her arms she cradled a small blue tabby kitten. Its meow were weak, but it was still fighting to be freed from her arms. "I was wondering, the kitten, Rai, do you think it's okay to leave him here overnight?" You hummed and then closed the file containing the kitten's information and you mumbled, "I would like to say yes, but... his owner did say the poor thing doesn't like to be left alone." You reached up and gently scratched beneath its chin, causing the kitten to momentarily purr before you pulled away. Mist gently pet the blue tabby and she mumbled, "I would love to bring it home, but.." She flinches when the tabby scratches her arm, and she laughed, "I don't think he likes me too much." She hands him off to you, and immediately he cuddles up beside you, nuzzling its head against your chin and you chuckled, "I can take him." Mist's eyes widened and asked, "Are you... are you sure? [F/N], no offense, but can you handle taking care of a kitten?" You looked away from the small kitten that was now playing with the collar of your white coat, only to meet Mist's playful gaze and teasing smile. You laughed, "Says you who can't cook." Her cheeks flared red, and she stuttered, "I-I'm perfectly capable of cooking a meal!"
"Instant ramen doesn't count, Mist," you teased and you laughed, "Go home, Mist, it's after hours, you're not required to stay." A pout is evident on her face, but as she watches you play with the kitten so naturally she sighed, "Okay, but don't stay up too late, alright?" "I won't, you worrywart. Even if I do, I'm still the first one to get to work anyways. Drive home safely, okay?" "'Kay," she sang out as she left your office. The kitten gives you a pathetic meow as it curls up sleepily on your lap. Your fingers gently tread through its fur and you smiled, "You're lucky that you're so cute. Just one more night and a final check up tomorrow and you'll be home free." *** You had thought it'd be like every other time you brought home another animal. They slept in your 'guest room' that has been redesigned into a pet playhouse, decked out with fluffy rugs, mats, and plenty of chew toys all over the room. But this time was different. You had finished getting ready, all you were missing was Rai. But you had opened the door, and it was silent, empty, and devoid of all signs of the blue tabby. You heaved a heavy sigh and muttered, "This cannot be happening." Immediately you went through the entire house, calling Rai's name and hoping that maybe she'd hear a distant mew somewhere in the house. You shook your head and ran a hand through your hair, "Gods, please. This is a disaster, oh my god." After spending half an hour looking for the cat, you bit your lower lip in worry. I have to get to work in an hour. But there's no sign of the damn cat. I cannot believe he somehow got out of the house. How? I locked everything. You sighed, and mumbled, "Okay, I'll check outside. Maybe he wandered out there. I really hope he didn't. Gods, what if he's actually missing?" As soon as you unlock your door, the sound of water being sprayed catches your attention, and you glance over, only to be surprised at the sight of your bluenette neighbor holding the blue tabby you spent the entire morning looking for. "Rai!" you declared upon sight of the kitten. It meows in response, squirming slightly in the toned arms of your neighbor. But instead of squirming away, it cuddles up in the crook of your neighbor's arm and he glances down at the cat, then to you, and asks, "Oh, is he yours?" You blinked once, twice, and then upon realization that you actually never met him before, you answered, "Not quite mine, I was taking care of him though. And uhm, my name's [F/N], nice to meet you." Your neighbor quickly switches off the hose and just tosses it over his shoulder, extending his arm and hand in a greeting, he shook yours and gives you a small smile, "I'm Ike. Nice to finally meet you." You grimaced, "Ah, yeah, I'm usually only home in the mornings and nights. I spend all my time at work." He nods understandingly, "I see. I'm normally at work too, but today's my day off." You give him a small nod, but your gaze drifts away from the ocean blue hues to the tabby that was snug and asleep in Ike's arms and you mumbled, "This spoiled kitten." Ike glances down, and his fingers gently rub against its chin and he smiled, "He's cute," he pauses, and mumbled, "Don't normally see them this small." You don't catch that part though, and you sighed, "Sorry for any trouble he caused you though." Your neighbor shakes his head and gently maneuvers the kitten over to your arms, "It's fine, he kept me company while I watered the garden." You chuckled at the way Rai immediately snuggled up against you, his head finding the crook between your neck and shoulder and settling there. You cooed and gently rubbed his head with your cheek, "Aren't you a pampered kitty?" You get a purr in return, causing both you and Ike to chuckle at the sight of the comfortably spoiled kitten. With a fond shake of your head, you look up at Ike and smiled, "Thank you for watching over him, even if it was because he escaped. I have to get to work now though. I'll see you around?" Ike's eyes widened just slightly, and he nodded, "Yeah, sure. See ya, [F/N]." *** "You look tired, doc." You glanced up, surprised to see Rolf here this earlier. And you laughed, "Yeah, Rai gave me troubles." Rolf looks down at the blue tabby that was sitting comfortably on your lap and he raised an eyebrow, "I'm surprised he's so attached to you. I don't think he likes anyone in this office." You rolled your eyes and sighed, "I'm telling you, he's spoiled." You gently pet him, and you mumbled, "Good thing he's going home soon." "Well, the day's only begun, so don't be too exhausted." "Yeah yeah, go set up the lobby room for me, I'm going to do my rounds on the overnight patients." "'Kay." *** "You know, I thought Rai was supposed to picked up already," Rolf commented as he watches the tabby play with the mouse toy that was attached to a string. Mist sat cross legged on the floor, teasing the kitten and she shrugged, "Ranulf said he'll be here, but apparently he wanted to bring a friend along." "Wonder who it is," Rolf sighed as he rests his chin on the lobby counter. His gaze was empty as he looked out the window, only for him to sit up straight, surprising Mist who slightly flinched at his sudden movement. "W-What is it, Rolf?" "Ranulf brought your brother." "What?" Mist turned her head towards the door, and upon hearing the jingle, the meow from the once occupied kitten is heard along with scampering as it runs up to the newcomers. "Hey there cutie!" Ranulf greeted as he picked up the kitten. He shoots Mist and Rolf a cheeky grin, "Hey you two, didn't know you guys worked this late." "We're only here this late because of you," Mist pointedly replied. Ranulf laughs, and places Rai back onto the floor where he circles around Ike once before the male scoops him up into his arms. Mist watches with intrigue and teased, "I thought you only liked the bigger cats." "Small ones are cute," Ike responded naturally. Ranulf nodded in agreement and asked, "So where's the doctor at? Gotta thank them for taking care of this spoiled kitten of mine." "Oh, let me go get them," Rolf offered. He quickly made his way towards the back of the building, finding you gently cradling a bearded lizard in your arms as you fed it liquidated nutrients. Rolf smiles at the sight, and gently knocks against the doorway for your attention. "Oh, Rolf. Did you need me?" "Rai's owner is here." "Oh, okay. Let me just put this fella back," you whispered softly as you adjusted the reptile's position until he crawled back into its respective cage. You smiled and gently ran your finger down its back, "This one is about ready to go home soon too. Anyways, I'll be right out, tell them to wait a little please?" "Sure thing!" he responded as he made his way back. Ranulf gives him a questioning gaze and the green haired boy responded, "Give them a minute to clean up." "Well, I don't need them to wash up just for me," Ranulf laughed, and then smiled, "Sanitation purposes though." "Yup, nice to meet you," you greeted as you came out. You firmly shake his hand and he smiled, "Ranulf. Nice to meet you, Dr. [L/N]." "It's a pleasure to meet you. Rai's a really sweet kitten, he took all the shots well, just had to stay overnight in case there was any potential reaction to them," you explained. You glanced around and asked, "Where is your kitten actually?" "Over there," Ranulf pointed behind him with a thumb and you glanced back, surprised to see your newly acquainted neighbor lifting the small blue tabby up into the air like a certain movie. You blinked once and mumbled, "What." "What?" Ranulf parroted and then glanced back and laughed, "Would you look at that? Ike, my dude, I thought you said you weren't comfortable with smaller animals." Ike glances back, and his eyes widened slightly upon seeing you, but he smiled, "Rai's cute." "Right?" Ranulf sang out and watched as Ike shifted himself while sitting to face the two, "Kind of want one for myself." "Brother, we can't take care of a cat when neither of us are ever home!" Mist sighed in exasperation. Your eyes widened and mumbled, "Brother?" Mist looks up towards you and smiled, "Oh yeah, [F/N]! This is my older brother, Ike." Ike glanced back and answered, "We met this morning." "Oh, I see... wait." Mist looks at Ike and then back at you and asked, "How?" You sighed, bringing a hand to your forehead and mumbling, "I can't believe we're neighbors." "Rai was sitting on the front door when I went to go water the plants." "And that's how we met," you added as soon as Ike finished speaking. Ranulf let's out a low whistle and said, "No wonder the whole day Ike was like, 'Small animals are cute.'" "Does he... do you not like small animals?" you asked out of curiosity. Ike hands Rai over to Ranulf and he answered, "No, it's not that. I work at a zoo, so I'm used to the bigger cats." "Oh." "Yeah." Mist laughed at the expression of shock on your face that you didn't even realize you had. And she sheepishly smiled, "Maybe I should have told you I had a brother." "No, no," you sighed, a fond smile on your lips, "It's fine. What would I have done with that information anyways?" Mist shrugged, and Ike slowly gets up and casually commented, "At least I have a name and a face to the wonderful and beautiful vet that my sister works with." There's a teasing smile on his lips and Mist is flushed pink and whined, "Ike!" "Oh?" you teased, "So I'm beautiful and wonderful, eh?" "Ike! Look what you did!" He ruffles her hair and Ranulf laughed, "Well, we must have taken up most of your time making you guys wait. So," he drawled the last word, glancing back at the siblings and then at Rolf, "Why don't you let us treat you to dinner, Ms. [L/N]?" "[F/N] is fine, but as nice as it sounds, I really don't want to burden you-" "You should totally come eat dinner with us!" Mist interrupted you, a bright smile on her face. She exchanged a weird glance with Ranulf and Rolf, and both nodded in agreement and you frowned, "What are you up to, Mist?" "Nothing!" Although you still didn't believe her, not with that look in her eyes. But she smiled, "Consider it a thank you for all the times you've made me lunch!" "What, [F/N]’s made you lunch?" Rolf asked, and Mist looked away, clearly embarrassed, and you laughed, "Alright, fine. I'm assuming we're going out for dinner? And I won't be subjected to Mist's attempt to cook again?" "[F/N]!" she whined, causing everyone else to laugh. But she can't help but be grateful that you said yes. Because she was definitely not letting this chance go. *** "That was a great dinner," you praised as you leaned back against the car seat. Mist nodded in agreement and leaned forward, "It really was." "Thanks for paying, Ike. I barely met you today and already you've helped me out again," you chuckled and he smiled, "Don't worry about it. With Mist around, I'm pretty sure we'll see each other more often." "What's that supposed to mean?" she asked, there's a clear whine of accusation in her voice, and you turn around to face her, "It means that you're a social butterfly." She rolled her eyes at you and snarked, "Like you aren't." "Uh-huh," you laughed, "If I was, I'm pretty sure I would have found out you two lived next to me a lot earlier." "Well, it's never too late now. But hey, [F/N]." "Hm?" "You should go check out the zoo where brother works at." "Mist," Ike's tone was laced with warning, but regardless, she continued, "Ike takes care of all the bigger cats, but the best part of it all is him and birds. They love him! Hawks, herons, owls-" "Mist, if you-" "So when he said that he was just cradling Rai, the sight was-" "Mist." She finally stops, but there's a smirk on her face when Ike glances at her through the rear view mirror and he sighed, "Sorry, Mist tends to... overexaggerate my job." "But working with predatory animals, now that is pretty cool," you commented, and smiled, "I think it'd be pretty neat to be able to see you do that." "Yeah?" "Mhm, any animals are cool to me. Of course, I do prefer the smaller, cuter, and cuddlier ones. But large animals of prey? And being able to handle some of them on hand? That's amazing, I'd love to see that," you laughed. You don't quite see it thanks to the darkness in the car, but there's a small smile on his face, and perhaps a tinge of a embarrassment.
Can I request the RFA+V's reactions to MC working with animals? I'm a pet groomer so I always find myself imagining what they would think about that. Thank you!
Hope you and your pets like this :p
RFA + V with a MC who really like animals
Common: So MC works with rescued animals and she managed to take some of them to live with her.
Zen
You told him you reeeeaaally liked animals, he just had no Idea it was that much
Dogs, so many dogs! And bunnies, and a turtle.
Well, as long as you don’t have any cat… oh, there is a sphinx cat too, okay… no allergy, then.
He was never surrounded by animals, so it’s hard to get used to, but he really likes the big dogs
When it comes to your work, he’s always promoting you adoption events at his Tripter account
Having his amazing actor’s memory, he learns every pet’s name pretty fast
Likes to throw sticks and Frisbees to the dogs, lets the cat sleep on his lap and feeds the bunnies, he doesn’t really know how to interact with the turtle, tho
“Oh, MC, this bunny is the cutest!” he’s grinning so much when you tell you named this one after him.
Yoosung
He can train to be a vet, you can have free appointments with a vet. Match made in heaven
Three dogs, two cats and a goatling. All of them grown fond of him pretty fast.
Wants to impress you showing how much he’s studying by taking a look at the animal’s teeth and guessing their ages.
He can’t possibly choose his favorite, but the goatling is absolutely adorable, he won’t lie there.
Is a constant volunteer at your projects.
He’s always taking pictures of all of them and showing to his classmates, hates to be teased about preferring your animals over you.
If only they knew that sometimes he even gets a little jealous of all the attention you give to the pets…
Blushes furiously when you shoo one of the cats from his lap and fill its place.
Jaehee
She was aware about the 6 dogs and the iguana, but she was not ready to face the chaos that is your apartment
Okay, the iguana doesn’t do much, but the dogs… all of them so big and so energetic. One of them greeted her by throwing her at the floor and licking her nose.
Yes, she was never surrounded by animals either, so it is a little bit of a shock at first
But she understands now why you’re so responsible, having animals can make you get very diligent over things, and she likes it
She also volunteers for your events, usually she’s the one who planned the whole logistic of it
She eventually grows fond of this one dog who apparently really like her, as he always brings his toys for her or his leash, indicating that it’s time for a little walk, oh… he’s so polite!
You were so worried about her not liking animals, but soon it shows you had nothing to worry about, the only animal she didn’t really like that much was Elizabeth, after all.
Sometimes feels a little paranoid that the iguana is watching her…
Jumin
Well, he might have thought about finding Elizabeth a friend eventually, but this is on a whole another level…
Cats, bunnies, and an aquarium with some golden fishes, it’s not as fancy as his own, but it’s a pretty decent one
Your cats are… nothing like Elizabeth, they’re a lot more energetic and not that clingy, he feels like some of them don’t really like him.
It’s just an impression, though, he knows most cats are very independent creatures, especially being your cats… and he can always pat the bunnies, anyways
He doesn’t have the time to be more present, but is always making donations in cash or in old toys Elizabeth doesn’t want to play with it anymore
There’s this white little bunny that reminds him of Elizabeth, so it’s secretly his favorite.
He can’t wait to bring her along, but you tell him that this should be a slow process, since your cats are a little temperamental (so is Elizabeth, let’s not lie here)
“I’ve always believed that people who like animals can’t be bad, no wonder you’re the best person I know, my love.” This man has no chill, even when it comes to animals, oh lord…
Saeyoung
L-O-V-E-S!
3 dogs, a cat and a snake (!!!) He thought you might be the coolest person in the whole universe when he found about this on the background check
Now that he can actually live with them he’s just sure about your coolness.
When it comes to your work, he manages all the social media accounts and even takes a lo of the pictures that are posted
You don’t allow him to stay too close to the cats, since they’re old, and he surprisingly understands this, he holds back his urge to run around with them and bite their necks.
So he has fun with the dogs, the three are all over him when he comes to your place and he loves the attention.
He’s fascinated by the snake, he researches everything about it: gender, age, natural habitat, everything! He has the reptile around his neck more than you do.
But at the end of the day, he snuzzles to your chest  “Treat me like your kitty, meow~~” he says in a purr
V
He wouldn’t say out loud, but he imagines you as Snow White surrounded by animals in the forest when you told him about your pets
You’re definitely a princess, but it’s just 3 cats, 2 bunnies and a turtle. No squirrels, deers or birds that sing along with you, unfortunately.
Not that he’s complaining, he really likes your pets. If they’re yours, they’re the luckiest creatures in the universe, after all.
Now he gets where your kindness and empathy come from, animals give this kind of power to humans, and you’re the most powerful one to him.
He wishes he could take pictures of your events, but at least he can get you good photographers. Also makes lots of donations
He also admires how well treated they are, he can tell by the amazingly soft fur the bunnies and the cats have
But the one he really likes is the turtle, it’s quirky and doesn’t show any reaction, but he likes the sensation of feeling all the grooves on its shell.
Sometimes you even feel a little jealous of the turtle. Yes, you know it’s ridiculous, but it’s the perfect excuse to make him run after you and cuddle in the bed.
