Love Letters - Day 1

Happy February, friends. After the January I’ve had, I wanted to do something lighthearted and fun this month, and I happened to get polls this week, so I decided a 00Q “choose your own adventure” might fit the bill! This one will start tonight, and there will be a story update with a CYOA plot-determining poll every night around this time for a little over a week. If I time it right and you chaos muppets don’t take the plot in a completely wild direction, the last poll will be the night of 2/13 in my time zone (EST), and on 2/14 (I know I know Valentine’s Day yes) will be the epilogue/wrap up.

By the time the fifth text from Q arrived, Bond could see the writing on the wall well enough.

He’d purchased the dodgy in-flight wifi on the trip from Bogotá to London in no small part so he could receive Q’s updates from his biweekly wine-and-film nights with Moneypenny. In Bond’s experience, Q had a tendency to get increasingly tipsy as the night wore on, and in the three months they’d been dating, Bond had quickly learned that it brought him no end of amusement to save screenshots of the texts to tease Q about when the opportunity presented itself. He was particularly fond of the shade of pink, a shade not otherwise occurring in nature, that Q’s cheeks turned when Bond confronted him with a particularly lascivious text, like the one from the Roman Holiday film night a month ago that read simply, “Gregory Peck cld ride me like that Vespa.” Q had threatened to steal Bond’s phone and blow it up. Bond had threatened to have the text embroidered on a pillow.

But tonight, it appeared something had gone terribly wrong, because Q’s texts were becoming more, rather than less, clear as the night wore on, with increasingly pristine grammar and punctuation. 

“I don’t know what made the studio think they ought to do a remake of Persuasion when the BBC version from the 90s was perfect” was the first sign that the evening had gone downhill. By the time Bond got the text decrying the remake as an “offense against nature and Jane Austen,” it appeared some sympathy was in order.

“I’m appalled to hear it,” Bond typed. “What a shame.”

Three dots appeared, stopped, and reappeared as Q typed out a message.

“You’ve never seen the BBC version at all, have you???”

Bond rubbed absently at the scruff on his cheeks—he’d had no time to shave before catching his flight—and considered his response.

After all that stuff (was in it the people of the year interview?) about how she regrets hiding in her house for six years

Like I get that after a break up you may look back and realise that some of the decisions you made in that relationship weren't really for the best

But I find it so hard to believe that her and joe were always terrible etc etc

I know she kinda always says 'I'm doing great now! In the previous era I was doing badly but I'm great now!' But it sees particularly.... revisionist? the way she now speaks about that period?

It sort of makes her sound really insecure about now that she has to blast her previous relationship so much yk?

Goddd that times poty interview was so insufferable im sorry, I only saw some snippets/screenshots on tumblr and it had me rolling my eyes so hard. It was like she was taking on some weird edgy persona (a la Matty Healy perhaps?) and it was just so off-putting how it felt like she was dunking on her 28 yo self for choosing to get in a relationship w joe. Like I felt so bad for joe, the way she was just glossing over all the love that album radiates and trying to rebrand it as a ‘goth punk moment of female rage’ or wtv. I’m soooo over this rewriting of rep, if rep tv follows in this same vein I’m just going to act like it doesn’t exist

And you’re right, she usually does that whole ‘wow that last era was baddd but I’m better now! :)’ routine but I think the reason why it feels more awkward this time cld be cuz she hasn’t given the general public a real reason for eating her words. We don’t know what did or didn’t happen so I’m not going to speculate on that, but for whatever reason she doesn’t want to share (and that’s fine it’s her personal life) so she’s just letting the fans run wild and do that for her (as evidenced by my last few anons….the line btw reality and fiction has become way too blurry). I think she feels the need to blast her prev relationships as a way to justify it ending/justify her choice to end the relationship, but I think that speaks more to wtv insecurities she might have about love rather than the relationship itself

I think the main reason she might be trying to rewrite rep so much is that joe was her most recent, most major breakup. For eg she wrote a lot of speak now about John Mayer, but she didn’t try to twist speak now into smth different like she’s doing with rep. Ofc there are songs abt her being cancelled, like lwymmd or idsb, but I rlly feel like it’s too much to completely write off the album’s vulnerability.

uhm also when i say long like this is v long bc i added a lot of reasoning to my settings n tips that i’ve picked up on making carrds (plus the screenshots) i hope it helps tho ^_^ apologies if u knew most of this stuff tho bc i explained... everything...

some notes before we get in: for colors i usually just base everything off the sidebar image and use a color picking website (i use this one) to get the the html codes for colors. the site i use also generates a palette which i also use! ur free to use anything tho obv. the font i used is “inter” 

1. ok first here are my page settings! i wont include my animation settings now ill leave that to the end.. these r rlly the only settings that i’ve changed so i’ll just post these.

ok i dont rlly change much except for these two, the position is set to top not center (which is the default) b/c esp w carrds like the one i have now i dont like the header portion moving depending on the height of the container underneath... does that make sense? that’s just super nitpicky of me LOL but if u do end up making the carrd n playing around w the settings u’ll see what i mean

the width is set to 22 bc i like small carrds! play around w this as u see fit, i also change it depending on how it looks like in mobile (im very thorough lol) if ur wondering how u can do that on desktop, its this phone looking icon on this bar on the top right of the screen: (the 6th icon!)

the next pic is also default settings except my spacing is set to 0. i’ll explain why later! the alignment also doesnt really matter w/ this carrd. u can play around with it tho!

2. this is for the home page!

first i’ll explain how this is set up: the title box and the box under it (i’ll call it info box) are both containers! here is why i put set the spacing to 0 earlier: if u put 2 containers theres going to be space btwn them and to achieve this kind of look (ig) i just set the page spacing (in the page settings) to 0. however this means that everything is going to be pressed up against each other so i usually just add dividers (which are transparent [color code is #96969600]) i wont post a screenshot bc the settings r default, except for the margins which u can play around with to see what works for u (it’s set to 0.375 for me rn)

here are my settings for the title box 

most of these r pretty standard except for the padding and border. the reason why i didnt tick the bottom part is bc of the container w all my info underneath. both containers have borders so the bottom & top border of those containers wld just merge n create a thicker border which isnt what i was looking for... anyway.

then i just add a text element & just write my title! idt my settings for that r relevant so i wont add it (the text size is 0.875)

next is the info box! here are my settings: 

btw this is a container with columns!! those can look p wonky on mobile so make sure to have these settings on so that they wont look awful on mobile!!

oh also i wont post a screenshot of my text settings (text size is 0.75 + line spacing is 1.25) if ur wondering how i changed colors for some of the text the format is basically just [text]{#color} 

for the image size i set the width size to full (or full column) that depends on u (and how much text u put in the info part) i just prefer how it looks like when the image width is set to full bc that way no part of the image is cut off... really depends on u and what image ur using though so just play around w/ it!!

and in terms of spacing, i have a divider on top of the title box b/c otherwise the whole thing is just too high up for my taste

ok now to explain the header part and how i got my title/info box to stay “fixed”

so... im ngl. i dont understand how the header function works (help) so uhh i wont go as into detail here. but what worked for me is adding a header marker (the plus thing on the bar > control > change section break to header marker) right after the info container, then adding a section break (this one is called #wala bc wala here means ‘nothing’ in bisaya lol) and a transparent divider right after it. i hope its visible in the pic... anyway this is the only method i found that makes the carrd work lmao. it rlly doesnt matter what u name the #wala section break bc its not gonna show up so u might as well just use a keysmash

3. the extra info!! (extra, interests, byf)

this section will b shorter compared to the first two LOL anyway. first i started off w a section break (#usa which means 1 in bisaya hehe), then a transparent divider for spacing, and then a container! theres nothing fancy abt this container it has the exact same settings as the info box above so u can just duplicate that container and change the container type from columns to default.

then just add ur info and ur done!! repeat w whatever extra info u want to add (i only had 3 to add so it looks like this for me)

4. oh before i forget, these are my animation settings!! (page > the triangle thing)

u can preview the on load animation by clicking the triangle button on the top right bar, but for the on section change animations u have to save then preview it on ur carrd itself :/ kinda annoying but yeah... i usually never set anything above 0.5 seconds for on section change animations bc im impatient LOL 

these r completely optional tho... i just think animations make the carrd look smoother & more fun!

thats it i think! here are some tips i have

1. this tip is abt how carrds can differ when on mobile! i sometimes fiddle around with the mobile settings to make sure my carrd looks the way i want it to on mobile! bc mobile sometimes fucks up the spacing and it annoys me LOL... example here: 

u can find these settings if u scroll down a bit on the page settings and switch mobile from auto to manual (like in the screenshot) most of the settings i dont touch except the size setting, i just fiddle around w it and see how my carrd looks in the mobile view until im satisfied

2. this isnt rlly necessary but its smthn neat i picked up! if u check ur section break settings and check hide footer u can get rid off the “( made with carrd )” text on the bottom! i think it just makes the carrd look a bit neater, esp since the page spacing is set to 0 so it might look a little squished under the container...

3. i like to use all elements of my carrd efficiently (ig? heres the engineering major jumping out) and idk if u noticed, but if u click on the title (”it has always been once for me”) or the image (which is... of tbz..) it actually takes u back to the home page ^^ idk i just think small things like that r neat

lana buys lots of things on random whims n i feel like smthn she wld have bought the summer her n dom started properly seeing each other is a polaroid camera. probably one of those fujifilm mini ones in pink w stickers on of holographic mermaids n butterflies. n all her friends wld be subject to hving their photos taken on this at 447294734 parties but fr the most part like 50% of the film wld be spent on dom esp considering how often they’d see each other. i cn imagine her being annoying abt it e.g. bursting in unannounced when he ws showering n flinging the curtain bk n shrieking in delight as she tkes a pic of him in there. penis NOT in shot (lana ws very disappointed when she realised altho inevitably dom ws relieved). it ws probably rly blurry too from her springing out of nowhere n running away after she’d dazed him w the flash bt lana wld never dream of throwing it away she’s probably like ugh cole sprouse WISHES he ws me tht stupid i’m weird i’m a weirdo bitch i’m taking his photographer crown n i’m loving it..... another time if she ws wearing his tshirt or smthn jst to laze around in she wld have tried to convince dom to wear her cropped bowie t-shirt she usually lounges in she’d b like OUTFIT SWAP!!!! like it ws a reality show segment. she’d do his hair w her strawberry clips n everything n wna take a polaroid of tht as well. a majority of these polaroids wld b taken w her sat on top of him in bed peeping thru the viewfinder n grinning sickeningly wide after. she’s bad at organisation bt she wld keep very close track of these polaroids n treasure them a lot bc they’d document a summer where she was rly rly happy. probably took them with her to la too she jst has them hidden somewhere.... idk if she’d ever b able to bring herself to throw them away to b honest

i jst had this vision of lana n dom taking franklin to the park n i already told u abt how she’d tell franklin tht she gives the flowers all their own names n say he shld come up w his own names fr them too bc it’s more fun tht way bt. i cn imagine if they saw two bees trying to pollinate the same flower n like buzzing close to each other if franklin pointed it out lana wld gasp n be like OMG they’re in love. they’re married bees. u can tell frm how bright their stripes r they’re extra yellow n glowing like the sun tht’s what happens. tht means they’re in love franklin. n idk if franklin wld say this or not bt if he asked what loves like lana wld b like hmMMM well. love’s kind of like being first in the queue fr the best rollercoaster. or licking the sugar off ur fingers when they’re all sticky frm candy floss. going to the zoo n getting to see all ur favourite animals on a day tht’s sunny but not TOO hot. enough to give ur nose freckles bt not burn ur shoulders. make u feel toasty like ur inside a cocoon. n love’s like........ she’d pause here. she’s crouched dwn on his lvl as she says this mayb dom hs walked off to get them ice creams n she briefly lks at him in the distance as he’s paying before lking bk at franklin. scrunching her nose playfully as she tries to stall. when she hesitantly continues she’s like. n love’s like getting home after tht perfect day at the zoo n finally getting into bed w fresh sheets when ur sleepy n ur eyes r all droopy n heavy. the pillows r fluffy n it’s safe n warm n all of the gd in the world at once. i think love’s like tht. it’s jst.... nice n stuff. n she’d jst be like :) afterwards realising she’d rambled on n change the subject like hey lk at that BUTTERFLY franklin............. bt i jst think this is. particularly heartwarming to me bc not only wld she have been basing tht on hw she feels abt dom bt. in the past love ws always a thing w barbs tht hurt her whenever she tried to hold it n.... he jst rly transformed her idea of being loved by someone into smthn safe n reliable n consistent......... smthn she cld actually make a home out of instead of constantly hving an eye on the door in case they leave / she needs an escape route..... a relationship isn’t a scary concept w him

hi! idk if you've already answered smth like this, but would you ever make a gif-making tutorial? i dont know where to start with gif-making >< but if not, it's totally cool! would you happen to know where i can learn how to make gifs like you? thank you!

sure! i absolutely would!! i’ll just do it under this ask haha 

so for making gifs i use photoshop ( i run cc 2017 bc it was th only free version i cld get ldsfkhsdf) and vapoursynth!

first things first: getting the video you want to gif. obviously the better the quality of the video the better the quality of gif, so when im downloading from youtube i usually use a 4k video downloader

if its  vlive i use soshistagram !!!

next step after youve downloaded your gif is to get the frame layers from the specific section that you want to gif. thats where vapousynth comes into play.

if you drag the video you downloaded into vapousynth, you choose the part within the video you want to gif, so say im remaking my last gifset id drag the video into vapoursynth put in like 00:05:40 (the starting time in the video where i wish to gif) and then like 00:00:03 (how many seconds of the video after the start i want vapoursynth to render) and then it’ll open up a tab that looks like this 

from here this is where i usually do my cropping, sharpening and denoising – i use to use topaz labs but that shit hurt my computer like it would take so long for my computer to render it it wasnt even worth it. but i mean topaz labs is pretty good so if your computer is strong enough i definitely suggest looking into it. i just cant lmao. 

okay after you choose the settings that you want (honestly the way i found my preferred settings was just by playing around w them!!), you copy and paste the coding in the white box in the right corner into the app that will open on your computer once you run vapoursynth it looks like this 

you paste the code into the section that says ‘paste here what you copied from resizer’

and if the section of the video runs longer than you wanted (like the screen changes n u just want to cut it out) you can trim it in this app as well if you go to Script > Preview and find the first frame and last frame that you want in the gif. honestly i dont usually do this, i just delete frames in photoshop bc im lazy but then it obviously takes longer to render but . again. lazy.

ANYWAYS once you’re ready to render your video, you go to Script > Encode video and another screen will pop up. make sure you change the header section from ‘no header’ to ‘Y4M’ or it wont work. n then just press start and it’ll do its thing. on my computer it saves the video to my ‘output’ folder and its always titled ‘output.mov’ so it shouldnt be hard 2 find !!

ok !!!!!! hardest part is out of the way!!!!!!! wee!!!!!

now its time for photoshop *crowd boos*

once you’ve opened photoshop, you go to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers and find the video that you got from vapousynth ! once you do that this will come up 

here you can cut down the video / limit the frames for its import. i usually limit frames only by 2 or i find it gets a lil weird, this helps a lot if your video is long and you want 2 get it all in the gif without missing parts while also staying under tumblrs gif limits (which i know have been made a lot bigger but i still try to keep mine around 3 MB). then once all thats Done just press OK n it’ll look like this !!

ok lets break this down

TIMELINE 

timeline is basically where u go to adjust the speed of your gif. if you press on the three lines on the right side and press Select All Frames then you can click on the time (in the screenshot its 0.02) and adjust it. i usually go with 0.05-0.06. but it depends. again its all up to your preferences. you can also delete frames n stuff, thats usually what i do to trim down a gif.

LAYERS SECTION OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED 

ok so these are all ur layers !!! usually i select them all and group them so its easier to manage. but this is where you’d add your colouring PSDs or text PSDs to spice up ur gif. 

at the top where it says ‘Add an adjustment’ is where you can edit the colour of your gif, you can obviously mess around and make your own psd or even go Crazy and make a new psd for every gifset. but personally, out of laziness, i just searched tumblr for gif PSDs and used the one i liked the most, and through that i adjust it depend on what i think looks best for the gif im working with. psds make the gif tbh

like the difference... the spice.... the vibrance... its beautiful. 

sometimes i use the sharpening action and in order to use the filters in photoshop you have to change it into a video timeline (see timeline section, at the left bottom corner theres that icon thingy beside where it says forever. just click that) then you select all your layers at the side and go to Filters > Convert for Smart Filters.

then you can go Sharpening and i usually use Smart Sharpen. and its again messing around until your satisfied with how the gif looks. this is my preset for it!

also through this you can blur out words in the gif (which obv u dont have to do its another preference thing i just personally prefer to do it) and once your gifs been converted for smart filters you can use the marquee tool to section off the part you want to blur and then go to Filter > Blur > Gaussain Blur and adjust the strength of the blur !

anyways. thats basically it???????? after your finished and you’re happy with how it came out go to File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy) and this will pop up 

here you can see how many MB’s your gif is to ensure you dont go over. also adjust the presets on the side, thats just how i have mine obviously you can adjust yours to however you want them !

and make sure where it says “Looping Options” it says forever, or else your gif wont loop and you’ll want 2 rip ur hair out once u realize it.

n then boom

this is jst a small nuisance which i encounter now + again, which is when sth bigoted happens, bigots defending it say ‘well if its so bad how come the ppl calling it out arent members of the class the apparently bigoted thing targeted?’ 

like i remember this transmisogynistic youtube video (which when i clicked on i was not expecting 2 b transmisogynistic) + when i scrolled 2 the comments there were a lot of ppl calling it out + a common response was ‘well obviously this isnt a serious issue bc no one calling it out is trans [read: has self-identified in their comment as trans] so actual trans ppl are obviously concerned w/ other shit + dont mind this’ + its like. 1) as i said not everyone who was commenting said they werent trans + i think it makes a lot of sense tht trans ppl who were calling it out wldnt have wanted 2 come out in that environment + 2) even if the majority of ppl calling it out were cis (+ certainly many were) that makes so much sense as well bc like getting in2 an argument in that environment, the best possible outcome is changing the mind of a bigot, rather than directly achieving any material gain or preventing any real violence, + even thats pretty unlikely. so i think the ppl who enter into it are often gna be ppl who are the least likely to b like, triggered or jst rlly upset by the transphobia they’ve gotta engage w/, + that necessarily means cis ppl. it makes so much sense 2 me tht a lot of trans ppl wld preserve their energy for dealing w/ transphobes for a more productive + necessary occasion. + tht doesnt mean they dont think the transphobia is bad or deserves calling out, theyre jst not necessarily best placed to do it (altho again, there cld easily have been trans ppl in the comments as well!).

But one day you get a casting call to be the 2nd female lead in an upcoming drama

you’re really excited and you tell Minhyun about it

and he’s like wait, is this for this drama??

And he’s like, I was going to tell you tonight but I got cast as the 2nd male lead!

and you’re both like omg

you’re going to be working together

what’s great is that even the public are like omfg my faves from wgm are going to be reunited on this drama

and everyone’s so excited because it’s been a couple of years since youve publicly interacted

and you know everyone kinda goes crazy when former wgm couples even so much as walk past each other or make eye contact

so the fact you’re both going to be acting together as a couple is a big deal

your managers are wary but they trust that you’ll be good at concealing it seeing as it’s already been a couple of years and no one has found out yet

also because you two have been really good at keeping your relationship a secret ever since wgm finished

like you’d never do anything that would cause suspicion

so you’d never wear couple items out when you went to the airport in case they’d get photographed

there was only one instance where both of you had promoted albums at the same time, but even then you’d make sure to only go to each other’s waiting rooms when there would be no cameras around

the time you two had gone on a date outside you had been so very careful, and had succeeding blending into the crowd like any other couple would

luckily both of you are homebodies, so lounging around at each others dorms was fine for both of you

which is why the two of you are actually so close because you literally tell each other everything

if a day has been tough for you, Minhyun just opens his arms up and you just melt into his embrace while he sings something sweet in your ear

on days that Minhyun happens to be feeling more tired than usual, you’ll bring over some homemade comfort food and some classic movies to watch until he falls asleep

you both kinda baby each other when someone is tired or under the weather, like Minhyun will tuck you into bed if you’re the one who falls asleep first and vice versa

also both of you have A++++ cuddling skills 

every couple of months on your days off, sometimes you’d go on long drives together to the countryside, where there wasn’t as many people

you’d go on walks along the coastline and find a nice area to sit and have a lil picnic

Because of how careful the two of you were though, you weren’t too sure what to do now that you’d be acting together

So on the day of the first table reading of the script, both of you just acted as if you hadn’t seen each other since wgm

Minhyun being the crap liar he is, had been attempting to to strike up a weird conversation at one point but it was so forced both of you were trying so hard not to laugh at each other

Shooting went smoothly, especially because the chemistry between the two of you was very very real

The way that Minhyun had been looking at you was as if honey was dripping out of his eyes

“Either he’s a natural born actor, or he’s seriously in love with Y/N”

It was the same for you though, being around Minhyun all the time at work made it easy to become very casual around him

You’d playfully hit his arm if he messed up a take, or pull a silly face at him across the room before he had to act a serious scene

Fans were becoming more and more suspicious but played it off as if you two were just super close friends (which you are)

There were also a few kiss scenes, and they were all so damn natural

Even the director was like ???

Done in one-take?? Usually it takes a few more for people who don’t have much experience with kiss scenes

but nope, “you two are just so natural, it’s almost as if you’ve done this before??”

so one night you’re hanging out at Minhyun’s dorm after a long day of filming and one of the pds calls you because there’s an extra scene that they need to add in to the upcoming episode and you’re needed

At the same time, Minhyun’s phone rings and it’s another pd who is also letting him know that he’s needed for said scene

And he’s like “yes, i’ll go there right away!” 

and the pd on the phone to you pauses slightly before asking…

“Why are you and Hwang Minhyun still together at 2AM?” 

So that’s how the staff found out about your relationship

Like it was obvious to people who worked with both of you closely that the two of you liked each other, but no one wanted to assume anything

Everyone was giving you knowing smiles when you went into work and you just sighed because you knew the staffs were never going to stop teasing

Literally the littlest thing they’d squeal over

“Y/N, why don’t you sit next to Minhyun for lunch break?”

“Aw did you see Minhyun gave Y/N his jacket because it was cold!”

They drink the same juice!!! That’s so cute, what do we do? Young love must be nice

Minhyun was having a concert and some of the cast decided to go to support

so you took this opportunity to go along too

Minhyun didn’t know you were going so you were planning on surprising him

and it was such a happy night, everyone bundled in backstage congratulating him on a successful concert

And you tried to sneak past to your manager who was holding onto the flowers you were planning on giving him

but Minhyun can recognise your silhouette anywhere so he immediately knew it was you bundled up in a black hoodie trying to squeeze away from the crowd

You had just about reached your manager when you felt Minhyun’s hand wrap round your wrist gently, pulling you round to face him

“Y/N!!! Why didn’t you tell me you were coming!”

His smile was practically blinding, you had to blink a few times to snap our of your daze

and you’re a stuttering mess, gesturing to the flowers and then to him and you don’t know what to say because you’re just so freaking proud of Minhyun

and he just laughs and pulls you into a hug and everyone is like OoOOOOoOOO ;))))

And you get one of the staff to take a photo of the two of you, and you both set it as your lockscreen for good luck

Usually you were both quite sweet to each other in behind the scenes videos

for example, there was a clip where you’d been playing with Minhyun’s hand, something that you tend do without thinking which was obviously the case here because you had been staring off into space

and Minhyun had just smiled at you before flicking your forehead gently

which snapped you out of your little bubble, so you scowled up at him 

and he had just giggled before tweaking your nose

so it became this little war going on of you swatting away his hands and him trying to flick your forehead or squeeze your cheeks

That though wasn’t the key player in the reveal of your relationship

What gave it away to the rest of the world was literally the smallest detail

But of course the detective fans had managed to spot something

The stylists had been fixing up Minhyun’s hair and makeup, when one of the staff had asked what the time was

And Minhyun had checked his phone

Someone had screenshotted and zoomed in on his phone until it was a blurry af image of the lockscreen

with more detective skills, fans discovered from the clothes that the people in the pic are wearing are the clothes that you were wearing to Minhyun’s concert

so surprise surprise, big reveal everyone deducts that the two of you are dating

and your company and pledis don’t deny or confirm anything straight away

also because at that time you had been preparing for a comeback with your group

and you were so worried about it affecting the comeback and also the drama negatively

You don’t even know how to react because your phone has exploded with messages

it’s just crazy overwhelming, and it’s the same for Minhyun

and you give him a call and he’s full of apologies

“Y/N, are you ok? i’m so sorry, I didn’t realise my phone lockscreen would be seen in that shot;;”

Just listening to his voice calms you down, and you try to reassure him that it isn’t his fault

“there’s no way you could have imagined that anyone would have seen that in the shot Minhyun, it’s ok!”

“I don’t know what the company is planning on doing, but all I know is that we’ll make it through this, together.”

Minhyun tells you to go to sleep early and wait to see what your companies statements will be in regards to your relationship in the morning

you’re scared to log on to check the news and you decide to avoid it completely

but your group member comes rushing into your room with a big smile on her face

“Y/N! Read this!!” shoving her phone into your face

You take the phone hesitantly but your eyes widen when you read it

Literally pages of comments praising your relationship and how happy they are that it’s real 

Everyone ships it.

Most of your friends were surprised that you were able to keep it hidden for so long

And the two of you still try to keep it super lowkey because no one likes it when couples are super PDA

BUT at the end of the year, you attended the big awards ceremony with Minhyun and everyone was just so amazed

because damn you guys are like so hot, wtf it’s really not fair

Minhyun is wearing this reallllly nice tuxedo that does so much justice for his broad shoulders and long legs

it’s like how is it possible that these two people who have great personalities, and are such talented visuals, exist??

AND THEY’RE DATING EACH OTHER?

Life isn’t fair, where are all the other people in the world who are perfect like you guys?

So of course, it was no surprise when they announced you and Minhyun as the winners of the best couple award for the drama you were in

And Minhyun’s such a gentleman, offering you his hand when you’re going up and down the steps to collect the award

and his eyes never leave your face during your thank you speech

and both of you are just so thankful that everything is just so perfect and meant to beeeee

like wow love really does exist, don’t lose hope y’all i say as I type out these scenarios and cry because it’s so unrealistic, you can only dream

Labyrinthine December Part 8: Clearing Floor 22

In which the bench warmers get their time in the sun.

So I went up and cleared Floor 22 pretty easily. I actually, originally, had to go back and re-fight Maribel since I apparently forgot to save after taking that screenshot with the four stars, but that’s barely worth mentioning tbh.

Most of the challenge on this floor came entirely from fighting the trash mobs rather than from any confusing puzzles... and even the challenge was self-imposed as I decided “what they hey, let’s use some of those characters I don’t like using”. I mostly used Mokou, Alice and Kanako to clean up the trash with others on standby (like Youmu, Cirno, Rumia, Yuyuko and Wriggle)

While I call them trash, I did have my fair share of deaths this time (most of them related to the winged enemies on this floor). Some of the resistances on these trash mobs was quite difficult to figure out (this was probably not helped by having Alice in the party, a character who confusingly hits with different elements and different defensive stats with each ability). From what I can remember:

Werewolves: these things just attack the first two slots with single target attacks. They’re not really a threat by themselves. They seem to be weak to FIR (circa Mokou’s Fujiyama Volcano spell). They probably have high DEF, because Alice’s DEF targeting spell does low damage.

Harpies: they usually get the first turn and can use Swoop on slots 1 and 2, a row attack or a speed buff. The speed buff is probably the most dangerous thing here. They’re resistant to WND and possibly have high MND, but are weak to NTR and don’t have great DEF.

Strategists (ak Little Wu-Kongmings): these things are more nuisance than threat. They will always get one DEF/MND buff in on their party at the start of the round, yet don’t seem to have much of either stat themselves. 

Knights: as you’d expect, they have stupidly high DEF but not very high MND.

Robot Things: not entirely sure what they’re resistant to, but Fujiyama Volcano and Kanako’s CLD nuke do decent damage (not enough to 1 shot though)

Succubus: also not sure how to deal with this enemy... their resistances are hard to pinpoint. Their Dark Hole attack is pretty dangerous though, and if there are two of these enemies, and both enemies decide to use this move, your party can be in for some serious trouble.

Well it doesn’t matter too much as I’m already at the next floor and... whoa is that one trippy floor. But more on that later.

not to like burden you with my problems but i was wondering if i could have some advice? pretty much on snapchat a bunch of people were doing this thing where they go on their story and say one thing they like and don't like about you right? and for this guy (who i lowkey have a HUGE crush on btw) i said that i didn't like how his whole group is kinda extra during drama (just always talking, disrespecting the teacher majorly, etc) and he responded something along the lines of [1/3]

“lol yeah, we are pretty extra, sorry” and it was all good right? but then i was checking sc and it turns out this one girl who’s part of that group took a screenshot??? and now i’m lowkey freaking out because 1-i only meant it in that they can be really loud sometimes, like i think everyone in that group is really nice and all, 2-that girl isn’t even one of the really loud ones, like she’s always a bit quieter, 3-most kids in this group (not my crush though) are in a lower grade [2/3]

so idk their drama and what’s going on with them but what if she’s sent this screenshot to the other people (they don’t follow me on sc)?? what if they all think i hate them when i don’t?? but i don’t wanna confront anyone bc it’s the end of the year and i’m gonna be going away so like why start unnecessary drama you know? but i also wanna settle any and all rumors and idk if i’m being overdramatic so i just kinda need an opinion on what to do [3/3]

ok dude i know this is rlly annoying but trust me its not gonna be a huge deal. like from my (admittedly very removed) perspective it seems like yes, this girl probably took that screenshot so she cld show someone, but i dont think theyre all gonna think you hate them and heres why:

1. the dude u like seems pretty self aware so its a good bet the rest of them are too and they might think its funny

there was gonna be more bullet points but yeah. thats what i see here. and truuuuust me if they ‘take offense’’’’ to this or whatever its like...very clearly an overreaction which actually proves what you said about them is true! so if they try to start shit with you (which i dont think they will) you can shut them down with that. and if you wanna really make sure its all good you should just ask the guy and be like hey so and so took a screenshot of my snap and i just wanna make sure shes not offended and then he can ask her for you

At the LA Art Book Fair, aka Instagram Live!, aka the nonholding center: competing clauses of DIY scrolled endlessly in a gallery space that as its day job marries museum culture to Little Tokyo culture, bringing white people together. There were not many solos at the LA Art Book Fair. The art world pretends to be all abt weirdos and loners; they even built that phrase like a dome of inclusion, but the art world is no world. It doesn’t have 7 billion people, just 7 billion microaggressions. There were stated or posted references to nobody owning the beach, which is clearly false: the beautiful people own the beach. I snagged a Cash For Your Warhol sticker from the free media table; “when they go low, we go high!” was the dek so never think memes actually die. They just reoccupy. Taking notes on Instagram, I discovered that when pressed to decide between committing earnestly to LAABF’s excesses and making fun of said excesses, it’s okay to do both.

Nevertheless we stanned over Dodie Bellamy working the Semiotext(e) table: how we got 3 books for the price of 2 or a free poster copped like the setlist from the stage. Don’t semiosext(e) me bro, Ben texted. Patrick got the poster. The three Semiotext(e) titles I got were: Atta by Jarett Kobek (Intervention, Series 9); The Coming Insurrection by The Invisible Committee (Intervention, Series 1); and Communists Like Us by Felix Guattari and Toni Negri (Foreign Agents). These items from my most loved label will live forever in my collection, or at least longer than the fancy zine I nearly dropped $20 on that was just curated McDonald’s-themed photography would have. On the other hand, the new Mac Jr. is beyond reproach.
