You pulled a blanket beneath your chin, yawning slightly at whatever the tv was playing. You only had it on in an attempt to drown out the noises coming from your roommate's bedroom as she smoozed her date. You were honestly shocked the two hadn’t moved in together yet with all the time they spent wrapped up.
Her door opened, her eyes widening slightly at the sight of you sprawled out on the couch. He marched toward you quietly, hovering over your shoulder. You peered up at her hesitantly. “What are you watching?” She asked, voice barely above a whisper. You furrowed your brows, opening your mouth to speak but she hurriedly cut you off. “Do you mind watching it at Nick’s instead?”
You raised your eyebrows. “You’re kicking me out again?” She gave you an apologetic smile, making you roll your eyes as you stood up and pulled on your jacket. “This would hurt less if they also paid rent,” you mumbled, with a small glare.
She thanked you repeatedly, holding onto your arm as you gathered what little belongings you needed for the night. “I promise I’ll make it up to you,” she courted, opening the door for you. “Tomorrow, dinner’s on me okay?” You sent her a tired look and she apologized again. She stopped you as you stepped out into the cold night, leaning through the space between the door and the frame. “Maybe you can cozy up to that Clay guy? You guys have such a good vibe,” she mocked, making you chuckle lightly.
You shook your head, waving to her. “Enjoy your night. Please, for the love of God, clean the bathroom afterward,” you called, hearing her laugh at your statement.
The bus ride was quiet due to the time of night and the weather, both of which you didn’t mind. You knew Nick’s house would be warm and loud. Before you knew it, you found yourself in front of his apartment door, kicking at the concrete ground as you heard someone stumbling to let you inside. The door opened swiftly, Clay’s large frame blocking the light from the kitchen. He leaned against the doorframe mockingly as he looked at you.
He wet his lips. “Who’s the lucky guy tonight?” He joshed.
You rolled your eyes, brushing past his body to get out of the cold. “Whoever’s dick you’re not sucking, I guess,” you quipped back, making him laugh darkly. You kicked off your shoes as he shut the door. “Where’s Sapnap?” You asked, shrugging off your jacket. You’d texted him ahead of time to ask if you could stay over, which he readily agreed to.
Clay sent you a smug look. “You guys have a fun night planned?” He made a gesture with his hand to insinuate you were there to give Nick a handjob.
You bit back a chuckle. “Why? You wanna join?” You shot back. He bit his lip and moaned pornographically.
“Cut it out, Dream,” Nick grumbled as he walked into the room. He pulled on your arm to follow him.
Dream scoffed exasperatedly. “Me? I’m not the one who started it!” He called after the two of you.
As Nick pushed you out of the room, you turned your head. “You most certainly did!” You answered. You heard him chuckle at your words as Nick shut the door to his room. You plopped down on his bed as he sat in his chair, swiveling to look at you. “Why does Dream pick at me so much?” You mumbled, fishing in your pockets for your phone.
“He’s jealous,” Nick answered absent-mindedly. “What's the date look like tonight?” He asked, referring to the reason you were there in the first place. This wasn’t the first time or the last time your roommate had kicked you out. It was becoming a more frequent occurrence for you to end up on Nick’s couch or at their place in the middle of the day with your toothbrush and a change of clothes.
You moved to lean into his pillows. “I don’t know, it's the same granola fucker she’s been hanging around,” you answered.
He rubbed his chin with a slight smirk. “There’s a subtle justice to knowing she’s still with that asshat,” he commented, making you snort.
A week later, you were on your way back to your apartment after a lecture when someone felt you up. It was the straw on the camel’s back for you as you spin around to smack the guy, stirring up a few of the bystanders. You’d walked the rest of the way home, stepping through the door to be met with your roommate and her hookup twisted together in the kitchen.
You clamped your hand over your eyes, mumbling about how you just wanted to take a nap when you were once again sent to Nick’s. You let subtle tears fall as you trudged your way across the city, hoping to get out whatever darkness you had to your attitude. The last thing you wanted to do was confront Clay looking like you did. He was like the troll with the keys to the bridge. That was really the only reason the two of you ever talked, so you knew he’d be waiting to berate you before you could get to Nick.
As you walked into the building, you spotted Clay carrying a large box, his hair slightly disheveled and his hands dirty. You knew almost instantly that he was probably attempting to fix the kitchen sink and got a call because of the size of the package. That sink had been dripping since they’d moved in, making it Clay’s mission to futz around with it every Friday afternoon. You tried helping him one time, only ending up with a deflated sense of confidence and the second wave of your childhood anger issues.
He nodded at you as you held the elevator door open for him. “What’s up, babycakes?” He chirped, popping his gum. When you hesitated to answer, he looked at you fully, scoffing. “Damn, walk of shame gone sour?”
You crossed your arms over your chest, inhaling deeply to try and calm your nerves. “I’m not really in the mood today,” you muttered, tucking your hands between your back and the wall.
He snorted, setting the box down between his feet. “You’re always in the mood! Isn’t that like your thing,” he continued to jeer. “You look like you had a fun night though-”
“Clay, stop. I’m serious,” barked at him. His expression twisting at your use of his name.
He raised his hands in mock defense. “Sorry, I thought we had---like a bit thing, um-” he cut himself off, awkwardly shoving his fists in his pockets. After a beat of silence between the two of you, the elevator came to a sharp halt on the wrong floor, the light switching to red. The two of you shared a look, knowing that the landlord was probably flipping the wrong switches again. Clay texted Nick to see what was going on.
It began to grow colder in the elevator, as it usually did. When it was off, the cold from outside usually seeped in through the elevator shaft. There was one time you were stuck in the elevator for a few hours with one of your neighbors and Karl when he had come to visit. Back then, the three of you played Uno on the guy’s phone. It was also summer, so the chill creeping up your legs wasn’t as intolerable as it was now.
You rubbed the arms of your sweater in hopes of generating some kind of warmth. Clay watched you carefully, his hands moving to grip the bar behind him. “Do you want my sweatshirt?” He offered. You shook your head, sliding onto the ground and hugging your knees to your chest. He hesitantly slumped down beside you, kicking his long legs out towards the door. The red light filling the space made his features look softer.
He nudged your arm gently with his own. “I know I’m not Sapnap, but…” he chewed on the inside of his cheek, shrugging slightly, “I mean, we’re stuck in here. We can talk about it.”
You blinked away the tears threatening to spill once again, your eyes burning and tired. “I haven’t slept with him, you know?” You stated, turning to look at him briefly before moving to sit cross-legged, planning with your fingers. “I’ve never even kissed him. I’ve never kissed anyone,” you scoffed. Clay was silent, but out of the corner of your eye, you could see him watching you intently.
Being this close to him, you could smell the smoky vanilla undertones of his cologne. The scent reminded you of a masculine version of the candle your aunt always burned when she went out for a night to spite her ex-husband.
Clay leaned his head back against the wood paneling, his soft blond hair flattening in the back to spread against the wall. You swallowed, sighing slightly. “I haven’t even had my first kiss yet and I’m getting groped on the bus and kicked out of my damn apartment because my roommate and her fucking boyfriend have to hook up on every surface. Nothing is sacred.” You shook your head, wiping away some stray tears with the back of your hand and sniffling pathetically. “You can keep making slut jokes, I don’t care. But I swear to God, I haven’t done anything with Sapnap. Or Karl, or Quackity. No one.”
He chuckled softly. “I know. That’s why I used to make those jokes,” he mumbled. “It was like… ironic humor. And then it got so far that the only way I knew you’d talk back to me was if I was fucking around with you,” he admitted. You chuckled slightly at his words, taking a deep breath.
“Oh, Dream,” you sighed. “I would have hooked up with you if you weren’t such an ass,” you chided. His laugh made you feel better. He held his hand out to you, more for support than anything, but as you laced your fingers with his, your heart eased, feeling safe beside him.
After a beat of silence, he spoke up again. "I can ride the bus with you now... if you want..." He offered, a shyness that seemed so foreign to his character shown through his eyes. "I promise I won't grope you," he joshed, making you roll your eyes.
"That's really not something we should be joking about," you mumbled, wiping away the rest of your tears on your sleeve.
His thumb brushed against the back of your hand soothingly. "I mask my awkwardness around you in dark humor. I'm sorry."

You’d be crying out in pain begging me to play my games. I could corrupt you, it would be ugly.
pairing: vampire!jk x human!reader genre: smut, pwp warnings: blood play, unprotected sex, dirty talk, exhibitionism, voyeurism, multiple orgasms, spanking, oral (f. receiving), partially clothed sex word count: 5k author’s note: literally everything i write is based on a song so listen to Corrupt by Depeche Mode. This also came to mind because my boss and i are obsessed with the idea of going to a sex club in berlin so i hope you enjoy lol. leave feedback or shoot me a message tysm ily bye. this also isnt edited yet im sorry
Standing in the middle of a dimly lit club in the heart of Berlin, the sound of a german band filling up the space all around you, is not how you thought your night would go.
Utterly alone, shimmying through the crowd of people all scantily clad in forms of leather or lace, some wearing nothing at all. No one seemed to mind you, no one gave you a second glance. The leather body harness you had on stuck to your body like second skin, the straps of it stretched across your breasts and covered your nipples. The only thing on your bottom half was a garter belt, a tiny pair of black underwear and fishnet stockings, finished off with some black heels.
You had begged your friend to come with you, being in the middle of your trip across Europe you wanted to visit the infamous sex club while in Berlin but she had been so against it. Not only was this club notorious for having orgies in the middle of the venue, which she thought was unspeakable, it was also a common hot spot for vampires as well, another taboo for her.
When she told you no you knew it was final so you didn’t mention it again. Instead you got dressed up in the bathroom of your airbnb, draped on a peacoat and headed out without a word. Luckily the club had coat check or else you’d feel entirely over dressed.
This club, unlike other vampire friendly ones you’ve visited, let everyone mingle together. You were accustomed to having dedicated rooms for humans, another for vampires, and a common ground for those who didn’t mind being together. But here it was a giant melting pot of both.
In the short ten minutes you’ve been here you had lost count of how many scarlet eyes you’d seen staring down at you, how many touches of cold skin you’d felt as you slipped by people, you felt very outnumbered and a little vulnerable but it sent a spark of excitement down your spine.
When you reach the bar, your arms press against the slightly tacky surface, a blonde with gleaming golden eyes greets you with a smile, “What’ll you have sweet heart?”
You strain your ears to hear her but try your best to tell her you’d just like a shot of tequila, she has no problem hearing your request, spinning around to grab the tequila from behind her.
Just as you start to ease up to being where you are, the feeling of someone slipping in beside you has you tensing up again. You keep your gaze on the bartender, watching her pour out your shot before sliding it over.
When you reach into the hem of your tights to pull out some cash she waves you off, “Its your first time here, consider it a welcoming gift.” She winks at you and moves on to the next thirsty guest before you can thank her.
You can sense the eyes boring into you from your right, your fingers gripping the edge of the shot glass as you lift it up to your lips. The curious observer just watches with a smirk as you throw back the shot, shutting your eyes as the warm liquid runs down your throat.
When you set the glass down and lick your lips over they finally speak, “First timer huh?”
The hairs on the back of your neck stand up at his voice, the low gravel of it swimming through your ears and getting your full attention. Its melodic, something about it has you turning to him like he had just said something ground breaking, and when you see who the voice belongs to you let out a small shudder.
The dark red of his eyes seems to glow in between the random flashes of light, his eyebrow arched up in curiosity as you drink him in. The hair on his head, parted to the side and showing the sharp eyebrows that frame his eyes, is an inky shade, the tips of the strands landing on his forehead.
He lets you take your time, watching you make your way down his face, reaching his soft lips, parted in a half smile that showcased the sharp fangs where your incisors are. The action should be threatening but all you can think of is having them sink into your skin.
The way he’s dressed is more modest than others, a sheer black mesh shirt hugging his chest, showing off the indents of muscles from how tight the material was. A harness similar to your own sits snuggly against his waist, the leather material matching that of his pants.
You snap out of it when you realize you’ve been staring at his crotch for more than seemed appropriate. Humor is written all over his face when you meet his gaze once more, remembering that the beautiful stranger had in fact asked you a question.
“Yeah, that obvious?”
He just chuckles, leaning against the bar top as well, “You just look a little intimidated is all. What is it, the vampires or the fucking in public?”
You push the shot glass further away from you, “Neither, I’ve had my fair share of vampires and if fucking in public scared me I wouldn’t be here.” Your words have piqued his interest, “Just first time jitters.”
He nods in understanding, “Fair, lets do some ice breakers then, I’ll start.” He clears his throat and inches closer to you, his shoulder nudging against yours, “My name is Jungkook, I’m technically 24, I enjoy making short films and I really want to fuck you.”
The small gasp you let out is clearly picked up by his ears, the smirk returning on his face at your reaction, “Oh wow,” you let out a giggle and he’s enamored by it, “well, my names Y/N, I’m 25, I enjoy baking and I really want to fuck you too.”
Jungkook hums, his tongue running along his teeth, “That can be arranged you know.”
You take a glance behind him, taking in the entirety of the club in the flashes of light. Almost every surface had a couple, at least, in the act of fucking each other in one form or another. In the middle of it all were the people who just came for the atmosphere, dancing along to the music playing as if ten feet away someone wasn’t getting fucked in the ass.
“Where?” You ask shyly, this was after all your first time at a club like this. The rules of dibs regarding location was foreign to you, not knowing what was off limits or not but Jungkook seemed to be very familiar with the club.
“Lets ease you into it yeah?” He murmurs out, his cold hand gently grasping yours and tugging you behind him as he slides through people without a care. The crowd seemed to split for him, humans and vampires alike staring him down but he paid them no mind as he crossed the floor.
The further you walked the more the crowd dispersed until you reached a hallway, the maroon walls were lined up with fetish photos, portraits of girls wrapped up in shibari, men wearing gimp masks along with shadow boxes holding various sex toys. In between each one were open doors, the rooms having a bed in the middle of them with lovers on top, the sounds of pleasure spilling out of the rooms and into the hallway.
Jungkook continued to lead you down the hallway, reaching a room he knows will be unoccupied. It was his room, no one ever used it but him, it was almost like an unspoken rule that it belonged to him so when you rounded the corner and stepped into it, the fact that i was completely untouched didn’t surprise him.
The bed was right in the middle, dimly illuminated by two sconces on the wall behind it. The black silk sheets look inviting, the large gold bed frame drawing you forward until your palms rested on the mattress, your fingers rubbing the soft material.
“I didn’t know places like this had beds.”
Jungkook steps behind you, his hands grasping your hips gently and pulling you back into him, “Mm, theres also a pool in the basement but I can show you that later.” He dips his head down, nuzzling his nose into the juncture of your neck and inhaling when the scent of you invades his senses.
He could hear the pounding of your heart, the blood pulsing through your veins in excitement. Jungkook knew you weren’t scared, you had waves of eagerness rolling off of you. The rythm of your heart wasn’t one of fear and as much as he used to love playing with his meals, knowing he didn’t have to sweet talk you into calming down made this more enjoyable.
“Yeah, later–laters good.” Your eyes flutter shut when his lips touch your skin, gently trailing up your neck and reaching your jaw. One of the hands that was on your hips came up to cup your cheeks, yanking your head around to crash his lips against yours.
The lingering remains of the tequila you had thrown back makes its way into his mouth when his tongue meets yours as he licks his way inside. Slowly you fully turn around, wrapping your arms around his neck and forcing him closer to you as your tongues tangled together messily.
Jungkook makes quick work at unclasping the harness you had on, his fingers coming together on your back and undoing the metal hooks until the fabric sagged off of your body. His lips never leave yours as you drop your arms, letting the leather material hit the floor.
When his hands come up to grasp your tits you pause kissing him, the icyness of his palm making your nipples pebble and he just smirks, almost as if he knows that you’re thinking of how his cold hands would feel inside your cunt.
“Such a pretty little human.” He mumbles out when he pulls back and stares at your exposed chest, his fingers twisting your nipple.
“Please,” you groan out, leaning forward to reattach your lips but he inches back to tease you, a playful smile on his face. “you said you wanted to fuck me.”
He relases your nipple, his hands now coming to undo his own harness, the garment joining yours on the floor but with it comes the mesh shirt. Inch by inch his smooth skin comes into view, the muscles on his stomach rippling as he peels it off and tosses it without a care.
“I do want to fuck you, so badly.” His head tilts slightly at you, watching you standing by the bed with your arms by your side and a pout on your face. “I like taking my time though baby, can you be patient for me.”
He hears the small intake of breath you make, nodding your head immediately. Patient? Yeah you could be patient for him, you could be anything for him. Its like his voice had you in a trance, any request he had could be fulfilled without a problem.
Jungkook reaches for you once more, his lips melting against yours while his hands guide your hips backwards, helping you onto the bed and pushing you back with ease. He slowly pushes you back until you’re fullt resting on the mattress, your hair splayed out around you with him hovering above you, his knees on either side of your thighs.
Your lips smack together for a moment, Jungkook gently nipping your bottom lip enough to draw a small bead of blood. When his tongue laps it up he moans into your mouth, the coppery taste mixed in with a hint of sweetness has his cock twitching. A small taste of whats to come, it takes him all the restraint he has to stop himself from devouring you here and now.
“Tastes,” kiss “so,” kiss “sweet.” He groans out in between kisses, pressing against you harder before trailing his lips down your body. You lay there with your chest heaving, your mind spinning when you feel the wetness of his lips kissing down your chest.
He envelopes your nipple into his mouth, his tongue flicking around it with a moan, his other hand coming up to knead the flesh of your neglected breast and you gasp at the feeling, your back arching into his touch.
Your brain forcing your limbs to come into action now, your hand slipping into his hair and pushing him closer to you. The sensation of your fingers yanking his strands urges him on, sucking on your nipple while looking up at you, your eyes blown out in the darkness of the room, the bright red of his making him look predatory.
He pulls back with a wet smack, looking down at your saliva coated flesh and humming to himself while his hand continues to twist your other nipple. “So sensitive.” He comments when you whine at a particular hard tug he gives you, your head falling back with a sigh.
“Jungkook please.”
He relents, releasing your nipple and continuing his quest down your body, you’re expecting him to tug down your tights, maybe undo the garter belt before taking it all off but instead his fingers hook into the holes in the tighs around your crotch and yank hard. The sound of the fabric ripping has you lifting your head back up, catching him in the act of tearing your tights apart until your black panties were fully exposed to him.
Jungkook had slid off the bed, kneeling in front of you, his arms hooking under your thighs to drag you forward a bit, a smile spreading across his face when you let out a small shriek of surprise. The heels of your shoes rest on his back, your thighs sitting snuggly on his shoulders.
You can feel his breath against your skin, his lips hovering over the flesh of your inner thighs, his fingers digging into you as he licks his lips over. The anticipation is killing you, forcing yourself to drop your head back down because watching him stare at you like that was filling your stomach with nerves.
The soft flick of his tongue on your inner thigh has you tensing up, your hands reaching down to grasp his own, your warm fingers curling around his while they wrapped around your legs. Jungkook trails soft kisses on your skin, taking his time sucking and biting around your panties, his tongue gently flicking over your clit, a teasing motion that you barely feel through the material of your underwear.
He chuckles when your hands clutch his with annoyance, you had told him you could be patient but you were really doubting yourself now. Maybe fucking him out in the open of the club would’ve given you satisfaction a lot quicker.
Just as you’re about to voice your frustration, Jungkook pulls a hand away from your thigh, hooking his finger on the edge of your panties and yanking them to the side. Your glistening core shines back on him, his mouth salivating at getting a taste of you, wondering if your cunt was as sweet as your blood.
“Fuck.” You gasp when he licks a broad stripe up your slit, his tongue gathering your wetness in a practice move, a satisfied moan leaving his mouth at the taste. Everything he had said about taking his time was out the window now, diving into you shamelessly.
He growls when your hand comes back to tangle into his hair, the slight burn of his scalp causing him to eat you with more determination. His lips wrap around your clit, slurping and sucking gently enough to have you whimpering, your back arching up into him at the feeling.
Jungkook smirks when he releases your clit, nosing against it while his fingers circle your entrance, slipping in without resistance. The dirty thought that had crossed your mind before had been proven correct, Jungkook’s long icy fingers felt amazing inside your heat, spreading you open as if they were meant to be there. When he adds a second one, scissoring inside of you to stretch you out, a moan dies in your throat when you choke out, his lips come back to your center in a frenzy.
You can feel every ridge of his finger inside of you, grazing the bundle of nerves each time they thrust out, coupled with the way he’s sucking on your clit its not a shock that you’re quivering on the bed.
“So fucking wet.” He awes for a second, the tug on his scalp letting him know you needed him to go back to what he was doing. A gush of wetness escapes you, dripping down his palm and onto the floor and he hums, he can hear the pounding in your veins increase in speed, the fluttering of your heart sounding like music to his ears.
“C-close,” you keen out, your heels digging into him and bringing him closer, “fuck, bite me. Please bite me.”
Thats all Jungkook needed to hear, his fingers slip out of you to replace his mouth, quickly circling your clit to have you hurdling over the edge. You can feel the pressure building in your abdomen, the controlled flicks of his fingers have you whining out.
Just as you’re about to teeter over Jungkook dips down and kisses your inner thigh once more, opening his mouth to clamp over your skin. In a flash his fangs pierce your flesh, a brief feeling of searing pain shoots up your body before being replaced by intense pleasure when he fully latches on, lips suckling on your skin.
The rich liquid pours into his mouth, the same coppery sweet taste he had sampled earlier is increased with the pleasure you feel. Jungkook’s eyes roll back at the flavor, his fingers not letting up on your clit even with the choked gasp of his name as you reach your orgasm.
Your body trembles underneath him, your hands grip on his hair loosening up as he quenches his thirst. Everything feels tingly, each nerve ending on your body being lit up from the intense orgasm you just experienced. When he pulls away from your thigh, traces of blood spilling around his mouth he moans, nuzzling his way back to your center, gently licking the remnants of your orgasm off of you, enjoying how you whimper on the bed.
“So good.” He rasps out, his eyes flicking up to look at you and you gasp at how much brighter they are, a ruby red sparkling in the dark of the room, his eyebrow cocked up as he trails his way back up your body, letting your legs fall from his shoulders and back onto the bed.
His leather clad legs press against you, the feeling of his hardened bulge against your hip has you shuddering. “I’m not done with you yet, I’m going to ruin you baby.” He kisses up your chest, his eyes never leaving yours. The fucked out look on your face makes him rut against you, “You sure you want this?”
Your arms wrap around his torso, nails digging into his back as you rut up into him. His head drops down onto your neck when you grind against him, your wetness smearing along the leather. “I need it, ruin me Jungkook.”
The hiss he lets out has your toes curling, moreso when his mouth kisses along your neck, a teasing nip of his teeth on your skin, “Oh I will.”
Jungkook reaches down with one hand to unbotton his jeans, tugging them down enough for his cock to slip free. You don’t get a chance to look it over, the size of it being a total suprise to you since his lips were no on yours again, your eyes slipping shut as they worked together, teeth knocking into each other in a hurry.
He wraps a hand around himself, sighing into your mouth as he gives himself a pump. “Jungkook.” You groan into his mouth, wiggling your hips around as he positions himself between your thighs. He nudges your thighs further apart, your heels resting on the edge of the bed while his knees sink into the mattress.
“I know baby.” He mumbles against your lips, pressing another kiss to them. Thats when you feel the tip of his cock pressing against you, a slow rut of his hips following as he coats his length in your arousal.
Your nails dig into his back once more, the silk sheets gliding against your skin when you arch your back to get some sort of friction from him.
Jungkooks eyes are glued to where you meet, watching in admiration when he tugs your underwear to the side and eases himself into you, his cock sinking into your heat slowly. The feeling of him stretching you open has you moaning out loud, your head thrown back and exposing your neck to him.
“Fuck baby, you’re taking me so well.”
The stretch feels almost impossible for a second, you hadn’t seen his length but the feeling of it alone made it obvious that he was the biggest you’d ever had. When he bottoms out, his hips resting flush against your ass you whimper out.
“Feel so full.” You slur, humming softly when he kisses your cheek tenderly.
Jungkook just chuckles, “Gonna fuck you stupid.” Thats the only warning he gives you before inching back, rolling into you over and over until you’re adjusted to his size.
You knew after today you’d be ruined, you’d slept with your fair share of vampires but the way Jungkook’s cock split you open, pistoning into you in the most delicious way, you were done for.
The feeling of your nails digging in his back had him hissing, his arms caging you in underneath him. His eyes were focused on the way your breasts jiggled at every thrust, your body jostling upwards from the strength of them. Your face was screwed up in pleasure, your mouth dropped open as moans spilled out through your lips.
Jungkook was fucking you well and truly stupid, you looked lost in your pleasure, your walls fluttering around his length when he hit your sweet spot.
“Fuck,” you mewl, “so big. So–“ a gasp cuts you off when he speeds up his thrusts, the skin of his thighs smacking against yours with new found energy.
“Where’d those first time jitters go?” He wonders, one hand coming up to softly trail down your face, inching down until theyre placed around your neck, his fingers feeling the ferocious pulsing from your jugular.
“Such a fearless little human.” He grunts out with a groan, “Letting me do what I want with you, do you have any idea what I could do to you?”
A whimper leaves your mouth, your hips coming up to rut in time against his. You knew what he could do to you, if he really wanted to he could rip out your throat and drink you dry. Maybe it was the masochist inside of you, the idea of not knowing what could actually happen, of not being in control of the situation, that kept you going.
“I don’t care.”
That has a curious smile spreading across his face, “No? All you care about is my cock huh?”
You’re nodding immediately, yes his cock is all you care about. The way its stretching you open, the length of it hitting places inside of you without even trying. He fucked you like it was second nature to him, his thrusts being well timed, as if he knew the right way to get you falling apart underneath him.
“Can I–“ you press your palms against his chest lightly, the smal act of resistence causing him to still completely. He watches on curiously when you shimmy out from under him, your knees knocking into his as you turn over onto the bed on your hands and knees.
You’re facing the door now, seeing the flashes of light and the occasional person walking by the door and you briefly remember where you are. Jungkook watches you wiggle your hips at him, your fishnets stretched tightly over your ass.
“So fucking sexy.” He steps off of the bed, taking the time now to fully slip out of his pants, kicking them off and onto the floor before kneeling back onto the bed. His hands grasp your ass, kneading the flesh of them as he settles behind you, his palm coming up to land with a loud smack onto your skin. The sound mixing in with the thrumming bass of the club music and the moan you let out.
“C’mon, fuck me stupid.” You tease, dropping onto your elbows and spreading your thighs apart as you arch your back.
“Mm, careful what you ask for baby.”
His large palm splays across your back, pushing you down further while his other guides his cock back into you. The first thrust is a lot smoother than the last, the glide of your wetness helping him ease in to the hilt. This position has him reaching in deeper inside of you, your hands fisting the cool sheets as you moan out his name.
Its messy, the way his dick squelches every time it re-enters your, wetness coating his cock and dripping down onto the sheets. His palms grasp your hips, fingers digging into your flesh roughly. He knew he could crush you if he wanted to and the fact that you still laid here, drunk off his cock instead of running away, he knew he was just as ruined as you were.
“Jung-jungkook.” You gasp out, rutting back onto him with a small laugh and it catches his attention when he notices one of your hands come up to point at the door, “we have a visitor.”
He hums when his eyes lock onto the observer, another vampire he was familiar with, the dark red hair of Jung Hoseok flashes in the light. He’s leaning against the door frame, a drink in his hand as he watches on nonchalantly.
“Lets give them a show then yeah?”
He grinds against you with more purpose, one hand coming around to your front to meet your clit, rolling the sensitive nub between his fingers until you’re trembling. Your pussy clamps around him, your mouth dropping open in a lewd moan, burying your face into the sheets while you let yourself get lost in the feeling of it all.
Knowing Jungkook was having his way with you while someone watched lit a fire inside of you, the way you were creaming his cock being evidence enough that you were clearly enjoying yourself.
“Harder, fuck me harder.”
Jungkook fulfills your request, starting to thrust into your heat harshly with no qualms about having a spectator. “You’re soaked baby, you gonna make a mess of these sheets?”
All of your senses are full of him, just him and his cock and the way he pounds into you, his fingers flicking against your clit with expertise. His grasp on your hips is the only thing keeping you from toppling over, your upper body laying limp on the bed as you let his ravish you.
When your eyes look up, meeting the gaze of the stranger by the door you smirk, sending them a wink and earning a chuckle from them.
Jungkook can feel you tightening up around him, his own release creeping up inside of him. He needs to taste you again, “Let me have another bite baby.”
He bends over your body until his nose pushes against your hair draped over your neck, a deep inhale sending shivers down your spine. Your hand comes up to move your hair out of the way, mewling when he nudges against your skin, “Oh god, yes.”
His lips latch onto you seconds later, the now familiar feeling of his fangs sinking into your skin making your whole body tense up this time. Your limbs lock up as he moans against your flesh, the warm blood dribbling into his mouth. Blood always tasted different coming straight from the jugular, the taste of it making his eyes roll back as he quickly ruts into you.
The euphoric feeling of him drinking from you pushes you over the edge once more, the pleasure sparking from the open wound until it reaches all of your limbs. Your walls clamp around him impossibly tight as you cum, a shout of his name leaving you as he fucks you through your orgasm.
His lips never leave your neck, suckling the blood from you as your body trembles underneath his. A weak whimper leaving your lips sends him over, his balls tensing up until he’s spilling into you, thrusting his hips against yours as deep as he could. The warmth of his cum fills you up, a soft sigh sounding out when he finally detaches from your neck, the smear of blood around your neck being licked up by him as he shallowly thrusts a few more times.
“Shit.”
Your eyes look up once more to find that the other vampire was now gone, leaving you and Jungkook alone once more, his cock still buried inside of you, your neck throbbing slightly after the abuse.
When he pulls out of you your hips full drop onto the mattress, the cool sheets feeling like heaven against your warm body. Jungkook chuckles at your worn out form, gently grasping you to flip you over to face the ceiling, not giving you a moment to recover before slotting his lips against your own.
You taste your own blood on your tongue, the coppery tang being new to you but you don’t mind it, not with the way he kisses you like you were more than just a messy fuck. He pulls back after a second and you grin at him, your hands coming up to cup his cheeks, your thumb rubbing the drying blood from his chin.
“What did I taste like?”
He presses another kiss against you, “Like fucking heaven, I could die eating your pussy.”
The wink he sends you makes you blush, swatting his chest lightly with a laugh, “I meant my blood you perv.”
“Oh I’m the perv now?” He teases, catching your hand before you can smack him again, “I think you ruined me too baby, never tasted blood this sweet.”
You bite your lip at his words, staring up at him with wide eyes in an almost innocent way as if you hadn’t just participated in this scandalous act. He wanted nothing more than to proposition you into being his blood bag, a somewhat intimate request but he knew it was useless. Considering you had never been to this club before he knew you weren’t from around here, you’d be long gone in a few days, a distant memory that would simmer away over time and for some reason it pained him to think that so he chose to suppress it.
“Let me walk you home, you never know what monsters could be lurking.”
That same giggle that enamored him earlier is back now, “If I could handle you I could handle anyone.”
His eyebrows arch up at your teasing tone, a smirk curling his lip as he stares you down, “Is that so?” His eyes have that same predatory look in them, your skin breaking out into goosebumps at the way he stares at you, looking like he’s ready to dive in once more.
He wasn’t finished with you yet.

hello <3 if you could can you write something domestic for minchan? (minho x chan) just cute little headcanons !
minchan as boyfriend headcanons
i have loved you since we were 18
minho x chan headcanons warnings: the gif at the end has a bit of flashing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
« masterlist part two »
Tumblr media
before they started dating, they were roommates
and they were roommates
only for the first year of college tho, after that they just visited each other more and more until it felt like they were practically living with one other
minho was the first to confess
he just woke up one day and saw he fell asleep beside chan (with his cute bed hair might i add) after helping him with a project and was just like “yeah i’m in love with him.”
minho doesn’t really like to beat around the bush bUT EVERYTIME HE TRIED TO CONFESS SOMETHING WENT WRONG!!
the first time he tried to while they were watching a movie and the power went out so he fumbled around looking for candles with chan instead of declaring his love
the next time they were out on a walk where, chan, being the klutz he was, fell over and sprained his wrist
the THIRD time he was just gonna visit chan in the college studios, but when he went in chan laid his head in his lap and immediately fell asleep
and chan never sleeps so minho wouldnt wake him up just to say i love you
the fourth time chan was making ramen and minho just walked in and as nonchalantly as possible went
“i’m in love with you, do you wanna go on a date?”
chan may or may not have gotten a burn from being so shocked and splashing boiling water on his hand
to which minho rushed him to the faucet and fussed over him while chan tried to express he wanted to go on a date but minho was like
“stfu ur hand is burning!!” and chan is all like “ok but like i wanna date u!!”
they just sorta forgot to tell their friend group they were dating?/$:$: it was just so casual they just assumed their friends could tell
like all eight of them were literally out eating dinner and minho was just like “babe you have something on your lips,” and just swipes a napkin and pecks his lips and chan goes along with it cus that’s his boyfriend duh
bUT THE ENTIRE TABLE IS LIKE DID YALL SEE THAT SHIT?:$:&;
like no one could tell they were dating hsjdj
and that’s how they ended up paying for everyones meal as an apology
(they would’ve paid anyway but don’t tell them that)
they both occasionally said i love you while they were friends but when they started dating minho slipped it in when he was making breakfast
and chan replied back with the same ease but his heart was shjdkfkllglg
they decide to move in a year after dating since they had been friends for so long and had lived with the other before, so why not?
chan was a hoe for all things anime and always tried to get minho to get into it as well, and even though minho never did he never resisted when chan asked him to watch one with him
cus that meant cuddles :’)
chan did get him into playing mario kart with him and a lot of disputes were deicided by it
chan will just go “i don’t wanna take out the trash right now-”
and minho will go “whoever loses a round of mario kart has to.”
they’re both board game addicts
nothing makes a relationship stronger then beating your significant other in uno!!
“WHAT THE FUCK YOU DID NOT GIVE ME A PLUS FOUR- ending this relationship,”
“minho this is the twentieth round give up already—”
“REMATCH!”
minho often called chan the sugar daddy he had always wanted
if minho even showed the slightest interest in something you bet it would be in his room in less then a week
“that kid has really cute shoes-,”
*chan already ordering it on his phone*, “consider it done.”
chan just liked spoiling minho :((
he deserved it :(((
grocery shopping ಠ_ಠ
it was an entire event if you decided to go with minho, who had the attention span of a five year old and wandered off every two minutes
chan would always look to his side and find it empty and then get texts from minho along the lines of:
minho 💓: [4:26pm] i’m in the stroller section pls find me there’s so many kids screaming i’m going to die
minho 💓: [4:33pm] somehow i ended up in the cheese section and i don’t know how to get out and also can we try strawberry cream cheese
minho 💓: [4:37pm] im in the cat food aisle
chan 🐺🤍:[4:38pm] bub we don’t even have a cat
minho 💓: [4:38pm] hear me out
yeah so they end up getting a cat,,,or maybe three
minho couldnt just say no!!! how could you say no to three kitties :(
chan did get jealous of the cats,, but can u blame him!?
and when minho found out he teased him endlessly about it
but makes sure to reassure him and tell him how he has nothing to be jealous of cus he loved him and only him like that
“awe do you want me to scoop up your shit too baby?”
“minho i will kick you,-”
chan does not sleep.
minho knew this since they used to live with one another but he didn’t realize how bad it had gotten until they were living together again
as someone who loves his beauty sleep he didn’t get how chan could stay up till the ass crack of dawn
as a dancer he used to stay late up practicing but nOT TILL 6AM IN THE MORNIN):$:
and chan didn’t always do it for work, he just couldn’t sleep so he would stay up and do anything but
minho would literally hear him rummaging around as he sits upstairs
he didn’t like knowing his baby was awake all alone every night so he started sitting with him and attempting to tire him out at night
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
nskddjdj no he just suggested chan work out at night so he came home tired
(and seeing him in sleeveless tops and all sweaty was a bonus)
and when that didn’t work he made him some hot chocolate and played with his hair until he did
one time chan asked if they could play a game until he fell asleep so minho suggested truth or dare
minho: okay truth or dare?
chan: truth
minho: how many hours have you slept this week?
chan:
chan:...dare
minho: go to bed
chan: i don’t like this game
and if that doesn’t work
minho just seduced chan to sleep
“hey channie, you’d look so good bundled under our comforter right now, so warm and snuggled up,—”
“...are you seducing me? to sleep?”
“no,” *bites lip*
(☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞
proposing!!!
chan rlly wanted to beat minho in proposing so he devised a plan to do it during christmas cus what better gift then the gift of marrying his lover?
(and maybe an abundance of cat toys)
chan was a poor stuttering mess throughout as he fumbled to get the ring box out but what he didn’t expect was minho to get on his knees as well and pull out his own box
noT HIS BOYFRIEND ONE UPPING HIM?
they both obviously said yes and had a cute wedding a couple months later
chan was prepared to spend as much as minho wanted but minho suggested something just with their friends and family
(they were both a crying mess during the ceremony)
during the first dance minho led the way and when he dipped chan his heart went sbjdkko
minho in a suit
MINHO IN A SUIT)::$/)$:
after they both get married, minho starts introducing chan as his ex boyfriend wherever they go
when chan introduced him to his coworkers after getting signed to jyp he said chan was his ex ಠ_ಠ
(;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`) poor chan came back to the table all confused when his co workers were giving him weird looks
but minho thought it was hilarious
“this is chan, my ex boyfriend.”
changbin off to the side, “THEY’RE MARRIED!”
their relationship would be lowkey, they don’t do much pda whenever their out with their friends and save it for private
but when he feels like it minho will reach other and peck chan’s cheeks or thread his fingers through his and swing their arms
chan often started to skip whenever they went on walks and ended up dragging minho along with him
sometimes, after a long night, minho will turn on some low music and pull chan in for a slow dance in the living room
he’ll just moonwalk into the kitchen and bow down, “may i have this dance my good sir?”
and chan is a blushing mess the entire time
just happy fluff
on the rare occasions they do have disagreements it’s usually over in a few days (or less)
chan hates fighting so he’s usually the first one going back to talk and work things out
we love communication 😩
all in all it would seem like they were just always together, no one around them could imagine them at a time when they weren’t :(

Chis Evans’ Saturday night was just a regular Saturday night while away for work: he called Scott to talk to Dodger, went for a quick run before eating in the hotel restaurant. He watched the couple sitting next to him celebrate something and grew a bit jealous. All he wanted in life to find the right person, settle down, and have kids. Chris just never met the right person.
After finishing his meal, the lonely star went back to his room to get ready for his busy day of shooting in the morning. Normally he would at least explore the city a little but he wasn’t in the mood to explore the beautiful Big Easy tonight. Before the elevator doors closed a pair of newly weds game in and were giggling in the corner. Evans tired to hid as to not draw attention to himself but the couple were too entranced with each other to notice that there was someone else in the elevator.
When the now suffocating metal box reached his floor, Chris exited and walked to his room wondering when he would ever have what they had. He kicked his shoes off as soon as his hotel door closed behind him and got ready for bed. Once he got in bed, he decided against watch tv and just let the noise of the city ease him into slumber. But before he could close his eyes, he saw a light streak across the night sky. ‘A shooting star’ he thought. Chris closed his eyes and made a wish.
“I wish I could be normal and find the love of my life,” he whispered before finally going to sleep.
At midnight the sky exploded with light. The entire city of New Orleans went quite for just a second then roared back to life as if being rebooted. Little did the actor know that his innocent wish full of love and hope had come true but has also brought a twist.
Chris woke up to his alarm blaring at six in the morning for his call time at seven thirty. He has awoken with a new cheery disposition than when he went to bed. Chris had a feeling that today was going to be a great day. He was about to call Scott to talk to Dodge and his brother but decided to take a shower first cause he knew he would be on that call for a while.
After his shower, Chris put on simple jeans and a t-shirt then grabbed his wallet and phone to head to set. The bipolar southern weather had subsided and left a nice cool day, causing the actor to decide to walk the few blocks to set. While on his walk Chris noticed that he was actually relaxed. There was no people with cameras following him nor fans stopping him for a picture. He chalked it up to people still being hung over from their night on Bourbon Street. Chris then remembered that he still has to call Scott. He took out his phone and pressed on his brother’s name in his contacts and waited for him to pick up.
“Hello,” Scott answered in a confused tone.
“Hey man, I just called to say good morning to Dodge. Did I wake you,” Chris asked hoping that he didn’t. He sometime forgot that not everyone is on his sleep schedule.
“Who is this,” Scott replied.
Chis laughed thinking that this was one of his brothers pranks or that he had woken his brother up and he was so fresh from sleep that he was confused. “Scott its me. Are you hung over?” Chris asked as he stopped at a cross walk.
“Hi me but I still don’t know who this is. How did you get this number? You can’t just call me to talk to my dog,” Scott said in a slightly irritated tone.
Chris really thought that his brother was milking this prank. Which was fine. “Scott already very funny its Chris. Your brother. Now can I talk to MY dog before I head on set.”
“Look I don’t know who this is but I don’t have a brother. Don’t call here again,” Scott said before hanging up.
Chis looked at his phone after his brother hung up just to make sure he called the right person. He decided against calling him again just to check up on him partly because he wanted to wait til he had a lunch break in hopes that Scott would give up on this prank and partly because he was at his filming location.
He walked up to the security guard and gave him a smile as he walked by, but the guard stopped him. “Name,” the guard asked.
Evans wasn’t use to not being recognized but he chalked it to being protocol. He gave the guard his name and id and waited til he check is clipboard of approved people on set. “Your not on the list,” the guard replied handing back the id.
“There has got to be some mistake,” Chris said slightly annoyed, “Im the lead role.”
“You are not on the list, which means you don’t get in.”
Chris was now more annoyed so he took out his phone and called his agent Charlie to straighten this whole mess out. Once Charlie picked up the phone Chris skipped the pleasantries and just tole him how he’s not being let on set and that he’s about to be late.
“Who is this,” Charlie asked after Chris went on his little rant.
“Charlie, its Chris. Chris Evans.”
“Um i’m not in the office today but if you make an appointment with my assistant we can look into maybe representing you. I don’t know how you got this number but i’m going to give you my assistant’s and you just make an appointment,” Charlie replied in a professional manor.
“Charlie. Im already your client. Did Scott put you up to this,” Chris laughed at the extent of his brother’s prank.
“I know all of my clients and a Chris Evans is not one of them. Im sorry I think you have the wrong number. Have a great weekend,” Charlie replied hanging up the phone.
Chris was starting to really not like this prank. He had to be on set in five minutes, but his anxiety of the whole situation was getting really out of hand so he went for a walk around the city. Then he will be late to set and Charlie will call him back to apologize making the whole prank thing to rest.
Even though the city isn’t at its bullies at seven thirty in the morning Chris couldn’t deny the cozy and exciting atmosphere of it. Once again on his walk Chris was not bothered by fans nor photographers and for a quick second he wondered how extensive was the plank his brother was pulling. He pasted a Café Du Monde and realized that he had planned on eating breakfast on set. This place was on a list of places Anthony had told Chris to visit while he was in New Orleans. These beignets were supposedly the best things ever so Chris took his friends advice and decided to have an order for breakfast.
He sat down at a table outside so he could still enjoy the scenery of the old beautiful city and waited for a waitress to come over. Chris was entranced by some street players when his waitress came over and greeted him a good morning. He looked over and saw a young girl about seventeen in white button-up shirt with black pants, black bowtie, and a long green apron. The actor braced himself for the questions and her starstruck demeanor.
“Are you,” she started to say as she grabbed her notebook out of the apron.
“Chris Evans yes, how are you,” he said expecting her question of a picture and autograph. But it never came instead introduced herself and told him she was asking if he was ready to order.
This took Chris by surprise. Usually you women this this waitress would be hounding him for pictures and autographs and question but she did. He wanted to chalk it up to her being professional but there was a tiny voice inside his head the told him it was something else.
“Sorry um ill take an order of beignets and a café au Lait,” Chris ordered thankful for the pressure from Anthony for him to pronounce every thing he is going to eat in New Orleans correctly so he doesn’t look stupid. The Waitress gave him a nod and a smile before to put in his order.
The waitress came back three minutes later with the coffee and a plate with three beignets. She placed the items on the table and gave him the line of ‘hope you enjoy’ then went back to work. After he took one bite, he realized that Anthony was right about how delicious these things were. Chris was about to text his friend about how much he enjoyed the fried doughy treat but decided against because he knew Mackie was in the west coast for his film and its six am in Hollywood, also he didn’t want to take the chance that Scott had gotten him in on the prank as well.
For the first time in forever Chris Evans wanted to be attacked by paparazzi  and to be swarmed by fans getting too close for comfort. So he did the only think he could think of. Once he finish his breakfast he paid and left a generous tip to the young highs cool student and walked to the place where he knew there would be people at eight in the morning: the Flea Market down the road.
Once he arrived to the Flea Market, he was overwhelmed over the amount of people there. Given that it was eight in the morning on a Saturday it wasn’t weird for this many people to be there, but the sight gave Chris a little bit of anxiety. He was starting to second guess being around so many people in this publish setting just to get recognized.
But once again while he was looking at all the different booths, no one stopped him, no one took his picture, and no one whispered about him behind his back. Chris decided to get Scott something from the flea market in hopes that it would make him fell bad for this prank; Chris had also gotten some souvenirs for the rest of his family while at the flea market as well. Once he was finished with his shopping, the actor headed back to his hotel room. He wanted to get some rest and just wake up from this horrible day.
On his walk back to the hotel, Chris thought that he should enjoy this albeit terrible anonymity he seems to have. He walked a little slower and just took in the sights of the historical buildings he was passing. And while he has heard Anthony complain about the streets being awful in the city he admired the imperfection of the cracks and the potholes, something that natives never have like.
He stoped at Jackson square and enjoyed one street performer groups’ show and looked around at the art work hanging on the fence. Some where simple and others where very detailed but all captured the story of the city that had persevered though many hardships. And after gazing upon what is St. Louis Cathedral, Evans really headed back to his hotel room.
This time the buildings were not the things that caught his attention, but the families that were out exploring the city as he was. One that stuck out in particular was a family with a small girl about the age of five who kept asking her father if they could take a horse ride. She was pointing to the white horse who was standing at the corner to the street waiting for the next people he was going to give a ride too. The father and mother exchanged looked and then agreed which caused the little girl to jump up and down with joy.
The sight made Chris’s heart swell. In that moment he didn’t see that family, he saw the family he hope to have in the future. He saw his littler girl jumping for joy over a horse while him and his wive looked upon her with such adoration. The family disappeared into the horse drawn carriage and Chris’s mind was back on his bed.
Chris was almost at his hotel room when he felt like he was being watched, which on a normal day wasn’t weird but on a day like today it was. He stopped and looked around him to see where this feeling was coming from. That when he noticed someone on the phone across the street staring straight at him. Chris knew that look on her face. Its the face fans get when they see him. This girl knows who he is. She is the only person who does. He knew he had to ask her why.

A/N: So I wrote this instead of doing any of my psych assignments which is fine by me. Im a little bit rusty with one shots bc the last one I did was a Harry Potter angst with Draco and that was on a diff blog a few months back. Any who, enjoy and thank you for requesting!!
Request:  I would like to order a Gaara x Reader where Gaara and Reader are dating, but she is a Leaf Shinobi, and she she is always very talkative and smiling, but one day she is serious and quiet, and he is worried, but finds out that she is only concerned with something kind of silly, and then he is relieved and realizes that he really loves her.
✎ Worry (Gaara oneshot)
Tumblr media
You didn’t get to see your boyfriend all that often, being that you were a Leaf ninja, constantly on missions and he was a Kazekage, constantly protecting his village. However, whenever you did reunite it was always memorable. In fact, Gaara would be lying if he didn't count down the days to your arrival.
He always looked forward to seeing you. He would stand at the gate of his village, waiting for your body to slowly become visible through the winds of the blowing sand. He loved the face you would make when you finally discerned his shape in the distance: your eyes would brighten and a smile would spread rapidly across your face. Even if the journey was long, seeing him waiting there always gave you a burst of energy. You would then squint your eyes to shield them from the sand and run the rest of the distance towards him.
However, when Gaara spotted your figure in the distance today, you seemed a little tense. In fact, when you spotted him you didn't make that signature facial expression he loved so much or even start running towards him.
Something was off.
He watched you carefully as you got closer and frowned. He lacked a lot of emotional experience with others, but there was no denying that you looked worried.
Seeing you like that made him panic a little bit. Again, Gaara has never been very good with emotions - if anything he relied on you to be the one to help him navigate peoples feelings. So seeing you in such a worried state made him really, well... worried. He didn’t know what to do.
Once you finally arrived face to face at the gate you greeted him with a small smile and he guided you into the village. He gave you a little perplexed look in return before weeding the two of you out of the way of villagers and back towards his apartment.
I should say something, he thought to himself almost awkwardly, but he just didn’t know what.
Normally you would have started a conversation with him and he would have listened carefully, not saying much himself as he preferred hearing your voice as opposed to his own. However, you didn't seem in the mood to do that today, meaning it was his turn to pick up the slack.
“Erm- Temari and Kankuro will be happy to see you. Kankuro has been working on a new puppet and he has been dying to show everyone in the village how good it is.”
You laughed at that, which made his heart warm a bit, but he couldn't help but sense a possible hint of distractedness in your tone. You were gnawing at your nails too - he picked up that it was your nervous habit -  which made him fall back into silence again.
What am I supposed to say? What do people do in these situations?
Gaara lead you up to his apartment, knowing that you were tired and usually fell asleep upon arriving at the village.
Typically after you woke up from a nap you two would eat dinner together and then you would really start to catch up on things. You would talk about eventful things that happened on your missions and he would talk about Kank and Temari or some of his own eventful occurrences as the Kazekage in return.
Your naps usually lasted pretty long after your 3 day journey. That would give Gaara just enough time to drop by Temari’s and see if she could assist him with how to deal with this whole situation. She was always the one he fell back on for relationship advice. Deeming Kankuro useless in this field, as he talked more to puppets than to actual human beings.
He opens the door for you upon arriving and remains at the enterance, when you realize he isn’t coming side with you, you turned to look at him. You stared at each other from your respective points in the apartment: him at the door and you just outside his bedroom.
“Gaara?.. Aren't you coming inside?”
“...No, I need to, uhm, finish some paperwork. In the meantime you should really take a nap. I’ll be back by the time you wake up.” He said awkardly as he closed the door.
With that, he left you to sleep as he paid his sister a visit, asking her for some needed advice.
Temari was surprised at the visit, it was always very rare for Gaara to ask her for this kind of advice anyway, let alone for him to have a worried look on his face too.
When she lets him inside, he recalls the events that have transpired so far, sitting across from eachother at Temaris dinner table. There was a guide book on Shogi sitting atop the table, which Gaara knew she was reading just to impress a certain Leaf ninja. Anyway, when she caught him staring at it she batted it away embarrassedly and cleared her throat, her face growing hot. There was a moment of silence in the room as she thought about what Gaara had told her.
“Hm... Well, did you ask her whats wrong?”
“...No.” He realized that would have been an important piece of information to ask.
“Gaara!“
Temari shook her head, but then proceeded to give him a simple rundown of what to do.
Step one: ask whats wrong
Step two: ask how you can make her feel better
It seemed so simple when Temari said it, honestly he felt a little embarrassed that he couldn't manage to think of it on his own. He wasnt going to waste anymore time now that he knew what to do though.
As he was leaving Temaris apartment she smiled at him.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that...”
“Oh, its nothing...” she giggled. “Well actually Gaara, you know, going out of your way like this is something people normally do when they care about someone.” Then she closed the door with a cheeky grin, leaving Gaara to blush at the face of a wooden door.
On his way back to the apartment he thought about what Temari said, going out of your way like this is something people normally do when they care about someone... Of course in his head he always knew he really cared about y/n, but having someone else notice it too really made him stop and think.
He remembered when he fought Naruto back when the sound village attacked the Leaf. Naruto had opened Gaaras eyes to a lot of important things. He had shown him that you needed to have people important in your life. People that you would fight for and even die for... And for the first time, Gaara realized that y/n ticked all those boxes.
As he arrived back at his apartment, he opened the door quietly, not wanting to wake you up. He could hear your gentle snores as he made his way to your bedroom, holding a medium sized box in his hands.
After leaving Temari’s he had wandered the village a bit, thinking over a few things and clearing his mind, he had passed by your favourite dessert place in his village and figured that it would be a good gesture if he got you something. Afterall, Temari was always so happy when got sweets from anyone.
He opened the bedroom door carefully only to see you curled up on his bed sleeping. It made his heart feel all funny when he seen you sleeping. You looked so calm and fragile. He couldn't really admire it for all that long though because His presence must have alerted you. He watched your eyes open groggily as you sat up.
“Gaara? Is that you?” you asked, letting out a yawn.
“Yes. I uhm... I got you something.” he placed the white box on the bed next to you.
You opened the lid curiously, to reveal your favourite dessert staring back at you. It made you smile widely, as if nothing was wrong in the first place, but in a few seconds the worry crawled back onto your face. This time though, Gaara didn't get discouraged.
“Something has been bothering you since you got here, y/n. I want to help you, but I can't if you don't tell me whats wrong.”
It was strange seeing him so forward with feelings, but you liked it. In fact it made you feel relieved that you could tell him about your predicament.
“I guess you're right... Well, you see I guess its kind of... A bit silly but I got you a gift a while back. It was so pretty... You see, it was this necklace I found in a village I was passing through for a mission, it was this red gem wrapped around a sort of turquoise wire and it made me think of you instantly. So, I bought it and I was so excited to give it to you I kept taking it out of my backpack to look at it on my way here. Then when I woke up this morning and checked out of the Inn I stayed in, I went to look at it one more time before I arrived and it was gone!” you sighed, falling back onto the pillows.
“It would have looked perfect on you, Gaara. I just wanted to give you something special for you to remember me by for when Im not visiting. I don't know I guess its kind of a stupid thing to be upset about, but I just can't help it.” You covered your face with your hands.
There was a dip in the bed and you felt Gaara lay down beside you, causing you to peek at him through your fingers.
He was relieved to say the least, in fact he may have even been smiling a little bit. This was all she was worried about? It wasn’t about anything that he had done, it was just about a necklace!
“Thats all that was worrying you?” He asked as he looked at you with an almost soft expression, he gently removed your hands from your face.
“You know, y/n, I’m sure the necklace would have been nice, but all that really matters to me is that you're here now and we can spend some time together.”
He thought about what you said: I just wanted to give you something special for you to remember me by for when Im not visiting.
“And you don't need to give me anything to remind me of you while you're away because I think about you all the time when you're not here with me.” He blushed a little bit after he said it, but refused to get all shy about it.
When you heard that, a big smile appeared on your face, the same one that he always saw when you ran towards him at the villages gates. It was a huge relief to see you like this again, it felt as though there was a crack of sunshine in the middle of a storm of dark clouds. He could see the worry and frustration in your face slipping away slowly.
It made him feel happy, to be able to make you feel better again. He really did care about you.
“Come on then, eat your dessert and then we’ll go see Kankuro. Like I said earlier, he wants to show you his new puppet.”

every day i get a little more gay and i think it's thanks to these two.
kate's a little short and sam is drawn to look older so i do want to specify, kate is 24, sam is 28, kate is just a) an alien that lives longer and thus might look more 20 than 24, and b) short for her species which is actually a lot of complicated lore that i am going to ramble about because THIS IS MY BLOG GODDAMNIT
big tw, discussion of themes of eugenics, death, abuse, and murder.
so kate is like, an alien, right. and she comes from this planet where you're ranked from birth. when you're around, like, three, you get put into a category, and kate, being a scrawny child with a lot of health issues and a couple defects, was essentially cast as the lowest class of person. she'd be used for whatever was needed of her until she died, or, in other words, she was considered human livestock. until a woman with a lot of power looked at her and was like "yeah i can work with that".
she turned kate into a scout, which was only really a step above human livestock but hey it's better than being completely disposable and an embarrassment to her family. scouts are meant to go to planets (advanced alien civilization dontcha know) to scout (roll credits) out planets that could be colonized.
she got put on a ship with an ai named Thea and essentially her only contact with her family was a shitty communications device. Thea was pretty much her only friend throughout that entire time, acting as a rational source of information to contrast herself, who happened to be highly emotional, anxious, and impulsive. as is cliche with stories like this, the planet she was going to was earth. problem, Thea didn't know how to land, as she wasn't actually meant to land planes, only fly them, which meant the ship had to crash into a forest.
the ship was damaged almost beyond repair. kate did what she was told to do in her handbook and sought out shelter or any lifeform, carrying a few rations. she'd never really seen rain before, so the rainpour that night was something she remembered for the rest of her time on earth. kate found an abandoned warehouse, and obviously, being impulsive, she opened the door.
what she didn't expect was to find someone living there, an engineer and mechanic that said her name was sam. she noticed kate was shivering, and brought her inside. she didn't have much for other people, but she did have a couple throw blankets and an extra order of fries from her dinner, and kate was more than comfortable sleeping in a chair that night, because she hadn't been around other people for a very long time, much longer for people who cared about her well being. sure, she had thea, but thea couldn't wrap her in a blanket and give her fries.
the two of them spent a lot of time together after that. they discussed marriage a lot, but kate was the one to ask the question. she couldn't afford a ring, but she could afford dinner at a restaurant by a river, by candlelight. sam still remembered what she said - "we don't have a lot, but i just want to be with you, i want to stay here forever, i never want to leave you, i couldn't get a ring and im sorry but if i work really hard i promise i'll get you the biggest wedding ring i can get and we'll live a good life". many tears were shed that night.
kate managed to get a job at the local bar, getting paid under the table. (the only issue with that is that the bartender happens to be sam's college ex and they both hate each other.) she took up a baking hobby, started selling baked goods online, while sam worked extra hours at her mechanic job, even taking up jobs outside of work hours for things the company she worked for couldn't do, wouldn't do, or would charge too much for. they'd been engaged for a year when they finally had the money to get a house and have a wedding.
before they had the chance to move out, thea had warned kate of what would happen. by then, thea had been given a body by sam, and kate's commander, her boss, knew something had to be wrong. she was planning on going herself, to check on kate. after all, kate was more of a... pet project to her instead of a genuine endeavor.
kate doesn't remember what happened that day. she doesn't like talking about it. she doesn't really like visiting her ship anymore, either.
the following months were spent looking for houses, until they found a two bed, two bath in the kind of neighborhood where there are enough trees to where you can hear birds in the morning. kate decorated pretty much everything, sam just did all the heavy lifting (and painting, and plumbing). kate helped as much as she could, but watching her wife carry heavy boxes was, like, probably more important.
kate eventually left the job at the bar, but she stayed friends with the bartender. (she might be into thea, but she won't tell kate.) she catered events, mostly weddings, with the things she baked, and when she had the time, she'd drop something off at the bar for the bartender to sell.
sam kept working as a mechanic, mostly working on cars but sometimes helping with other things if someone emailed her asking for help. she left her job at the first auto body shop, and found another one closer to their house. sometimes, she gets dragged along to kate's events, and has to wear something fancy, but if it means she gets free food she'll take it.
GOD i rambled on for entirely too long okay im going to BED goodNIGHT this is entirely too long, im so glad i figured out how to do the read more thing SAUKGHDSK

Im gonna ask for Kassy
(Whoops sorry this is super late! I forgot I had asks in my inbox from right before I got sick with the pandemic. Here you go, and thank you so much for your ask!)
B A S I C S
full name: Kassandra King
gender: Female
sexuality: Pansexual, but she leans towards wanting partners who would make a good father, so in terms of humans, she leans towards males. (Her entire family is prone to polyamory, so any additional partners need not be male.)
pronouns: She/Her
O T H E R S
family: She has a lot of family! Roy and Evan are her older half-brothers who are twins. Her mother June is now deceased, unfortunately. Her aunt Sage had a fight with the family and left for America before Kassy was born, so out in the states she has two cousins. Roy and Evan gets really cozy with a sweet witch named Lauren and so Kassy has seven nephews and nieces to love. (And yes, Lauren unabashedly sleeps with both of them, and they make a good family unit.) And there’s Kassy’s own daughter, Snow! Oh, and Lance/Aegis is technically her family, too. She’s something more than twelve generations down from him though, whereas Roy and Evan are directly new hybrids from him.
birthplace: Kassy, like all of the children of Lance’s nest, was born in the manor on the island he is chained to. Now that birth certificates have to be a thing, though, her listed birthplace is in Hong Kong.
job: Devil Hunter, though her “day job” is pole and strip dancing at a very fancy VIP strip club that is visited by a lot of the underground connections.
phobias: Kassy doesn’t have any extreme fears, but she is a very protective mama and auntie. The idea of hurt children torments her, and actual hurt children will make her very very mad.
guilty pleasures: Sex. Well, sex toys, because Dante “wrecked” her and no one else will ever be good enough. So during the time she wasn’t with him, she put her toy box to good use. And her favorite toys are always the big ones.
M O R A L S
morality alignment?: Neutral I guess? Her family does work with the underground groups such as the black market, the mafia, and triads. It’s a necessity. They attract most of the demonic attention, and the family needs the connection for birth certificates and the likes. The government knows a bit about them and is frankly scared of them, mistakenly believing they hold all the power over all of the underground crime scene because “when something goes wrong down there, the King Family cleans it up.”
sins - lust, pride, envy. The devil traits manifested in her are succubus traits, so bodily pleasures are something of a necessity for her. Her entire family runs on pride, and she envies people who can live freely, because as a part-devil she cannot mingle normally.
virtues - charity, kindness, justice. Though much of their wealth comes from “dubious” means... as in, charging underground bosses exorbitant amounts to clean up demon messes, she is still charitable with it. Just not in a lot of actual charity, because her family is careful about where they leave their marks. She likes to give gifts, especially with food, because she hates to see people go hungry. Much of that has to do with her kindness, too, and in her own way, it is a form of justice. When she travels, she known to visit homeless shelters or soup kitchens and drop off a ton of groceries. (And there was the one time she paid off Dante’s pizza tab and left extra money for him for food.)
T H I S - O R - T H A T
introvert/extrovert: more on the introverted side, though she is not opposed to interacting with people. She’s a learned introvert because she has to hide who she is.
organized/disorganized: organized but not to a fault. Her demands for others is usually “no tripping hazards” and “don’t leave food out where it can fester” but otherwise just be mindful of your stuff.
close minded/open-minded: I would say she’s open minded. She’s especially open minded about sex.
calm/anxious: easily anxious, her anxiety is the number one thing that made her doubt Dante would like to hear from her about her pregnancy, and she spent the next two decades never contacting him, thinking she didn’t deserve him anyway.
disagreeable/agreeable: a very agreeable person, especially towards people she loves. She has her moments of stubbornness though.
cautious/reckless: being an ambusher, she leans more towards cautious.
patient/impatient: patient, as with her nature as an ambusher.
outspoken/reserved: a little bit of both. She knows how to play a sexy role, but outside of that she’s shy.
leader/follower: follower, which was a bit of a problem because she’s supposed to be the “Queen” of the family. But Roy took care to help her with that. He’s the reason Kassy can afford her freedom, though by the end of the day, due to the specific devil’s blood that runs through their veins, Roy can never go against the Queen’s word when Kassy gets seriously stubborn about something.
empathetic/unemphatic: absolutely empathetic. She took one look at Dante’s state of living after a single night in bed with him and ordered him food and left extra money for later.
optimistic/pessimistic: She’s supposed to be optimistic, but in the situation where she considers her chances with her love interest, she tends to think pessimistically.
traditional/modern: she’s more adapted to the modern!
hard-working/lazy: mostly hard working, especially where her family is concerned.
R E L A T I O N S H I P S
otp: Kassy x Dante! (There is one scenario of Kassy x Vergil I have tho.)
ot3: Though I stated she’s poly, I don’t see her with both Dante and Vergil, nor do I see those boys easily sliding into poly after all the stuff they’ve been through, so no ot3 for Kassy here. The circumstances in which she meets them in simply doesn’t make this the best option for her or them.
brotp: she will adore Seraphina! (And unabashedly trade sex tips with her, making Sera feel embarrassed.)
notp: Hmm... bring an OC I don’t have a lot of candidates for notp for her save for she has no untoward interest in her brothers.

Marinette: Guardian of the Miraculous
part 2
i have too many wips but im writing something else again :)) (woes of a writer/artist/just creators don’t @ me here)
so my brain clearly isn’t prioritising so here’s a really very long lil one shot based on this post i found by @aly4son and it’s pretty cute and fluffy. i decided to make some changes and add some stuff here as well becuz i love fluff hope it’s okayy. this took pretty long becuz i had to figure out how to put everything together ://
and as it stand it is getting way too long so im gonna have to put up a second part whoops.
“Hmm… Add a little of this…, a drop of water from the Dragon’s Tears Fountain… Oh, don’t forget the edible glitter…”
Marinette was adding different ingredients to her pot, swirling her wooden spoon at the same time. She was preparing for her final test before she was officially declared the new Guardian of the Miraculous. However, she needed a break from all the formulas and power-up functions. So, she decided to continue playing around with the concoction she’s been working on for weeks, hoping to complete her experiment that afternoon. She knew she could just finish it after her test, but she could feel that she’s so close, and was eager to observe the results.
Ever since she started learning the recipes of the power-up potions, she wondered what other power ups she could try making, if it were possible. She’s been trying over and over again, playing around with different kinds of ingredients. She’d even brought some items from the bakery, if only to give it a little taste and colour. (And also to test a theory of whether it can be used to make power-up potions. It did work out in the end, but only some foods.) She remembered Chat mentioning that Plagg hated those power-up cheese (said it tasted like “liquidy goo you humans take when you’re sick”) and decided to mess around with flavours.
“And… Done! Tikki? Up for another round of taste testing? I think I’ve got it this time!”
“Of course, Marinette! I’m curious though, why did you add the glitter?”
“It’s for flair, for the potion I’m brewing. If this works, you’ll see why I wanted glitter in there.” Marinette threw in a wink, and dipped a little spoon inside the pink, glittery liquid. Tikki floated towards it and took a sniff, noting the scent of champagne coming from it. I wonder if kwamis ever get drunk, didn’t think we’d try that before in all the time we spent in the miracle box.
She quicked sipped the delicious brew, and immediately felt a tingling sensation.
“It’s happening! It worked!”
In a flash of pink, Tikki transformed, her usual self now a sparkling crystal-like texture, her centre spot and tail (?) now dazzling diamonds.
“Wow… Well, what power up is this?”
“It’s called the Elegant power up, ooooooor Exquisite. Haven’t really decided on the name yet. It’s just a little fun power-up I came up with, you know, like a fancy dress transformation.”
“Cool! I’m sure Kaalki would love to try this power-up. It’s glorious.” Tikki laughed at her own little joke.
Oh, how she wished she could snap a photo of Tikki, but kwamis don’t show up on cameras. It was a great accomplishment, and she was really proud of herself. Specially created with an original outfit designed by her, a sketch of the design slowly added into the mixture while it boils. (Another absurd theory that flitted through her mind.) Never thought this crazy idea would work but here we are.
“Alright, I’m going to try transforming. Ready?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be, Marinette!”
“Elegant Tikki! Spots on!”
The familiar feeling of transforming washed over Marinette, yet it feels completely different at the same time. The swirls of pink magic disappeared to show a red cocktail dress with exquisite black sequins scattered on silk, the fabric a darker shade of red than what she usually wore. Extremely fancy indeed.
A Mandarin collar wrapped around her neck with a mini brooch which had a symbol engraved into it, a representation of her Chinese heritage and the pattern associated with the Miraculous. The top half had black polka dots, embodying her super-persona’s namesake, along with a matching mask and gloves, both of which had intricate embroidery. Her hair was pulled up into a stylish updo, braids twisted to form a crown above her head. Her red heels has little ladybugs on them, just like the one in her hair. Just how she imagined it.
“Wow, this is even better than what i would have done!” Marinette twirled around, noticing that the outfit has a litte glittery shine to it. Now she wish she would get to wear this someday; she felt like a princess! (Well, it was pretty funny because Chat would always call her civilian self that.)
In the midst of admiring her work, Master Fu walked into the room. His eyes widened at the sight in front of him, and Marinette shrieked, quickly transforming back to her usual self.
“Ah, sorry Master! I was messing around with an idea I had and I completed it just now. Don’t worry, I was practicing potions before that.”
“I’m not mad, Marinette. On the contrary, I’m actually very pleased that you have managed a feat that even my masters were unable to achieve back when I was in training with them. Perhaps I could show it to them when I return for a visit.
“In the mean time, how about you use this power-up for your Guardian officiating ceremony. It is something to celebrate after all and you deserve it.”
Marinette didn’t know what to say. She just thanked the master profusely, grateful for the opportunity to try out her new invention. She didn’t bother trying to refuse because she knows that there would still be one no matter what she says. Master Fu simply waved it off with a chuckle.
“Now, would you like to have your final test today or prefer to still wait for tomorrow? I feel that you are ready.”
School was still a priority, being in senior year and all. Marinette could only work on designs during her free time, and with Hawkmoth around those are scarce. Marinette would sometimes sketch out ideas besides finishing her homework, for fear if forgetting them. She absolutely hated it when an idea struck while she was busy fighting an akuma.
Good thing was, she didn’t need to worry about measurements. The miraculous will ensure that everyone’s suits and dresses would fit them to a t. So all she had to do was make sure that the designs represented each of the holders perfectly.
Tikki wholeheartedly agreed that Marinette deserved to be celebrated as the new Guardian, she hadn’t had a holder who was a Guardian since millennias ago. She was positively buzzing with exhilaration, moves animated with so much zest Marinette was afraid she might explode.
Chat was the first person she told about becoming a Guardian. He was surprised, after all he wasn’t aware of her receiving training, but that was short-lived as he immediately tackled Ladybug in a humongous bear hug for her sensational achievement. He even said, and I quote, “My, I’m honoured to be graced with the presence of the great and powerful Guardian of the Miraculous Box,” topped off with an exaggerated bow and a kiss to the knuckles.
He was also ecstatic about the prospect of a new transformation. Ladybug told him to assure Plagg that she had added a different flavour to it, and will add some cheese to his batch on top of infusing it in his beloved camembert. That night, Plagg denied purring loudly in his sleep. (“You were dreaming, Adrien. Hallucinating!”)
Three months of constant sketching and resketching, coloring in and retracing it for the potion, Marinette finally got the designs out. She asked the kwamis for their opinions on the designs, (after a mini celebration of their own, obviously.) and they gave their input. Some even made flavour requests, though they still kept the champagne in there as they loved it and it made the power-up more fancy.
Then it’s another week of measuring, mixing, and carefully infusing the correct batches into the different snacks. She almost put Wayzz’s herbal tea flavoured potion into Pollen’s honey comb, if not for Tikki and Wayzz’s interference. Oh, the look of horror on Pollen’s face would send Plagg laughing with tears.
With everything ready, it’s time to paaaaaaaaartay! (Clearly Xuppu was here :) )
With the help of Chat Noir, they managed to get the miraculouses to the respective holders’ rooms before they arrived home from school. She handwrote all the dissolving letters containing the information, taking care to use her cursive. Those online lessons really paid off, even Tikki couldn’t recognise that she was the one who wrote it.
Ladybug hid behind a rooftop as she watched Max open read the letter, coming to the conclusion that everyone else is doing the same. She hoped that she had made her instructions clear enough, considering how… excited some of her classmates could be.
Everyone was confused when they found a box in their rooms, realising soon after that it was a miraculous box. Alya and Chloe immediately opened their boxes, paying no mind to the paper that were below.
“Oh, finally! Ladybug is giving the Miraculous to me! It’s about time.”
“Trixx! Does Ladybug need me?” An extremely loud gasp, “Oh my gosh, is she here? Do I get to hold on to my miraculous?”
The kwamis questioned had to clarify that no, Ladybug was not nearby as there is no emergency, no, it was only for a few short hours, and no again, the miraculous was technically not theirs but “belonged” to the Guardian for safekeeping unless they are permanent holders. They were only temporary holders who are called upon when their help were needed.
(Ladybug and Master Fu had them make sure they got it through their heads after getting irritated when some people kept begging for it again. And also to inform those whose identities were compromised that it was their last time using theirs.)
“Please read the letter before you do anything, Alya.”
“It contains some important information that you really must know before you call upon me, my queen.”
All holders read through the letter:
“Dear [Name],
I hope this letter finds you well. I’m to be officiated as the new Guardian of the Miraculous, and it would really make my happy if you could join me tonight. Along with your miraculous, you will find a small snack for your kwamis. It is to be consumed strictly before transforming, so do not waste it as I’ve only provided a small piece.
You will transform tonight at 4am, going going to the address listed below. Don’t worry, the kwami will be able to help you with that. I know it is late but this is to ensure no reporters or your parents will see you sneak out. Hawkmoth rarely comes out at night anyway, so that’s a bonus.
Chat Noir and I are greatful for your contributions as the heroes of Paris, so we would also like this to be a celebration of thanks. Hope to see you there!
Signed, Ladybug
Address: 53 Rue de Corentin, Petit Fortune Hôtel 3rd floor”
The letters dissolved with a flame of green sparkles, kwamis reaffirming the chosens that they know the address and will help them navigate.

Damn Expiration Date (Tommy x Nikki)
Tumblr media
Title: Damn Expiration Date
Summary:  Nikki accidentally let his license expire, so he makes Tommy go with him to the DMV to get it renewed.
Warnings: Maybe mild language?
AN: This isn’t really Tommy x Nikki, but they’re the only characters in here...
“How do you let it expire?” Tommy asked as he pulled up at Nikki’s house to pick him up. “And Why aren’t you driving? You’ve never been one to follow the rules before.”
“Maybe I didn’t want to go to the DMV alone,” Nikki shrugged as he got himself situated in the passenger seat.
“Okay, fair point, but they send you like a million things in the mail, and the expiration date is your birthday. That was almost a month ago dude. Have you been driving this whole time on an expired license?”
“So?” Nikki shrugged. “Not my fault that it expired…” Tommy sat there for a moment.
“Yes it was!” Tommy called out. “Even I know to renew it!” Nikki just rolled his eyes and looked out the window.
“So much for a fun day,” He mumbled.
“Fun day? Going to the zoo is fun. Scoping out wannabe starlets on the strip is fun. The DMV? Not fun,” Tommy shook his head. “You’re so buying me lunch when this is all done and over with.”
“Okay, okay,” Nikki couldn’t help but smile, despite the day ahead of them.
****
“Are you kidding me?” Nikki grumbled as he found a hard plastic seat next to Tommy. “Number 215.”
“And what are they on right now?” Tommy asked. That’s when the loudspeaker rang out.
Now helping number 75…
“She said 75…” Tommy commented. “Not 175. Right?”
“Yep,” Nikki groaned. “Never let me do this again. I thought I still had another year left or something…” He laid his head back, only to bump it with the girl sitting behind him. “Shit, sorry.” She rolled her eyes and went back to smacking her gum and reading the magazine in her lap.
“Well, since we have about…” Tommy did the math in his head. “140 people in front of you, let’s play, like, a game or something.”
“You don’t have playing cards on you, do you?” Nikki asked.
“I actually have some out in my car for emergencies, but I thought more of the making up backstories about people we see kind of thing,” Tommy shrugged. “Or we could write some music or something. I can’t believe there’s this many people needing to be here right now.”
“The backstory thing is good,” Nikki nodded. “Because I don’t think the DMV sparks the creative flow.”
“Okay, so what about her?” Tommy asked, pointing to a woman who was walking up to the desk. “My guess is three kids and a husband who is a complete idiot.”
“I didn’t realize she was married to you,” Nikki laughed. Tommy turned to glare at him.
“Okay funny man, you do one,” Tommy crossed his arms over his chest. Nikki scanned the lobby, looking for the perfect one. He saw a twenty-something sitting in a chair, playing with a string on his pants. He had a blue mohawk and more metal in his face than skin.
“Ex junkie, trying to get his life turned around while keeping up with the punk scene,” Nikki told Tommy. Tommy looked at the kid than back at Nikki.
“This is supposed to be a fictional backstory, not yours!” Tommy shook his head.
By number 200, Tommy grew bored of the backstory game, especially when Nikki would create these elaborate tales of despair and redemption, and Tommy’s ideas were more along the lines of “that person is having Chipotle for dinner” or “that one has hit twelve cars in the past year and just completed their safe driving course”.
So Tommy headed out to his car and got the deck of cards, the two of them playing a game of war. They used the seat between them as a table. Tommy was just about to make a comeback, down to his last four cards, when Nikki’s number got called.
“Better luck next time T-Bone,” Nikki smirked and laid down his cards. Tommy snatched them up and put them back in the box while Nikki made his way to the desk.
“Name?” The woman asked, typing at her computer.
“Uh, Nikki Sixx,” He told her.
“...Right…” She typed the name in. “What’s your reason for visiting today Mr. Sixx?” She looked up at him.
“Renewing my drivers license,” He told her. He handed over his old one and she typed some things in the computer.
“Step over to the curtain and get your picture taken. Then you’re free to go,” She told him.
“Wait, that’s it?” Nikki asked. She nodded and headed towards the curtain to snap his picture.
“Yep, that’s it,” She nodded. “Sunglasses off please.” Nikki took the sunglasses off the top of his head and she snapped the picture. “Your new license should be in the mail in about 7 to 10 business days. Here’s your paper copy for the time being.”
“Thanks,” Nikki nodded. He paid for the new license and headed over towards Tommy. The drummer looked up at Nikki.
“You’re done already?” He asked. Nikki nodded with a smirk. “You’re telling me we just sat here for half a day for a five-minute appointment?”
“I guess so,” Nikki nodded.
“Then we’re going someplace fun for lunch, and you’re buying,” Tommy told him, making Nikki laugh.
“Anyplace you want to go, but I’m driving your car.”

when i said it i thought it was true [4] {Ben Hardy}
A/N: 2973 words. Listen, I massaged the timeline a little bit, just suspend your disbelief, perhaps it only takes 4 months to be in post production. Also yes I know X-Men didn’t actually film in Egypt, but I didn’t know that at the start of this fic and now I’m sticking with my mistakes because momma didn’t raise a quitter but she did raise a fool.
[part 1] [part 2] [part 3]
“You’re not proposing to me in a sheer shirt.” The moment the makeup team leaves, you turn on Ben, amusement tugging at your lips as you cross your arms, cocking your hip.
“You don’t like it?” He asked, the picture of innocence as he fiddles with the cuff of his jacket. You raise a singular eyebrow. “I think you do like it.” He hummed, a mischievous sparkle in his eye. When you refuse to break eye contact, your silence is answer enough. “I think you like it a lot.”
It’s been almost a four months since shooting officially wrapped, two since you’d filmed the last of the pick up shots they’d needed, and a full month since you and Ben seen each other in person; you’d been busy with a Netflix series, and Ben had been in talks about a new project, and you’d been messaging every day but seeing each other in person is... well there’s something different. Playful. Easy. Somehow neither of you seem worried about the looming proposal, and are just making up for lost time.
“Love, you’ve gotta take it up with the stylist, not me.” He shrugged, as if helpless, and turned, making his way to the door, knowing without even looking that you’ll be following behind him. He’s chipper, brimming with excitement and looking damn good, and once he gets to the elevator and pushes the button, he offers you his arm while he waits.
“Marry me.” He says it suddenly, watching the numbers of the elevator tick up to your floor. There’s no-one around, and the ring is still in his pocket.
“What?” With a frown, you step into the elevator, and press the button for the lobby, still tucked up against him.
“What if we just show up engaged?” He asks, hand in his pocket where he’s fiddling with the ring box. He’s not nervous, just contemplative.
“And deprive Swarovski of their moment?” You scoffed, and he tipped his head to look at you, eyebrows raised in exasperated amusement.
“I know you hate the ring, ‘too gaudy, too ostentatious by half’, isn’t that what you said?” He snickers after doing as half decent imitation of you. Giving him a shove, you duck your head to hide your embarrassed smile.
“It’s so ‘look at me! Look at me!’” You huff, and he can’t help but laugh at that. The sound of it, in person rather than over Skype, made you feel, for lack of a better phrase, like you were home. Not that there really was a better phrase, you just didn’t want to think about or admit how much you’d missed him.
“Sorry to say, dude, but there’s nothing more ‘look at me! Look at me!’ than a red carpet proposal.” And yeah, okay, maybe he had a point, but that was one night, you had to wear that ring until... they hadn’t told you the DVD release date, but you’re pretty sure it was some time in the New Year. When you bring this up, he just rolls his eyes. “You’re not the one getting down on one knee for a fake proposal; I’m gonna look like an idiot when this is all over.”
“Well fine, if you’re so worried, I’ll propose.” Instead of dwelling on his words, you step away, holding your hand out expectantly. When he just stares at you, bewildered, you motion for him to hand the ring box over, and he finally cracks a grin, shaking his head.
“If you think I’m gonna be caught dead in that ring you’re wrong.” He spluttered, and you can’t help but laugh at that.
“Fine, I won’t take your first proposal away from you.” You hum with a smile, tucking yourself back against him. He goes very quiet. It takes you a few moments, but you look up at him, brow furrowed. He seems lost in his own thoughts. “It- Ben you’ve never been engaged before, I feel like I’d know if you had been.” Your words snap him out of his trance and he looks at you with wide, bright eyes, and an unconvincing smile.
“Yeah, no, I would have told you by now otherwise.” The silence that falls around you in not a comfortable one, and you’re glad when the elevator comes to a stop. “I got close once, though.” He admits, quietly. You don’t know how to respond to that; you hadn’t considered how much those words would hurt. You want to ask with who, but you already felt an unreasonable rush of jealousy at the thought of someone else stealing his heart enough for him to want to be with them forever. Unreasonable jealousy.
Filming for X-Men started a week ago and he’s only called you once; he’s on a film lot somewhere in Canada and his hair is curly and god he looks cute but the apartment feels so empty. He’s bright eyed and excited. He’s rambling about how busy he is, and he’s still wearing his makeup. The call lasts five minutes; the cast are going out for dinner. You tell him to have fun, but you’re heart’s not in it; he can sense it, and promises to call you tomorrow, before he hangs up.
He doesn’t call, part of you isn’t surprised.
“Marry me.” He asks again, voice low in your ear. The others in the car can’t hear him, but part of you is afraid they might. They don’t technically know it’s not a real relationship, though part of you thinks Gwilym has his doubts, not that he’d ever voice them.
“Not the time.” You shoot him a warning look, and he just slings an arm around you, leaning back in his seat.
“You’ll regret not letting me be low-key about it.” He warns in return, giving you a blithe smile, and you narrow your eyes at him.
“Low-key about what?” Lucy asks, and you elbow Ben in the ribs. He keeps smiling, though his mischievousness slides to something more fond as he actually looks at you.
“About anything.” You say by way of explanation, and though she, along with the rest of the car, still look confused, they don’t push it. There’s reporters everywhere when you get out of the car, and you and Ben are the last ones out.
“Last chance before this becomes a spectacle.” He murmurs when he steps out after you, straightening the back of your dress just a little, and he sounds amused, but there’s something genuine in his voice, and you take a moment to pause, turning back to him. His hands land on your hips, his touch light, and his expression is so familiar it hurts, and you realise he is a little nervous; it’s a very public setting for what should be a very private matter. With cameras going off all around you, you pull him in for a kiss, and he relaxes somewhat, kissing you back with his grip tightening on your hips.
“We’re being paid to be a spectacle.” You remind him, and he nods, smiling softly, and the two of you make your way down the red purple carpet together. You have to stop every few feet to do interviews, and soon enough you had pulled ahead of Ben; he had a much larger part in the film that you did, it wasn’t surprising the reporters wanted to monopolise him. It still felt strange, to turn and not have him there. Sometimes you’d do interviews with the other boys, sometimes he’ll be there, and as the main photo area loomed, you could finally feel the butterflies in your stomach.
Soon.
Perhaps too soon.
“What do you mean you’re going to Egypt?” You snapped, wishing your internet connection was better so he could see you glaring clearly.
“I told you about it ages ago.” Ben sighs, clearly tired. It’s there in his eyes, how drained he is, how hard he’s been working, and your expression softens.
“That’s exciting,” you force yourself to take a breath, it was the first time you two had spoken that fortnight, neither of you needed this to be hostile. The days had started feeling so long when you don’t hear from him; all you want is a damn hug and he’s on the other side of the world. “What if I come visit you?”
“In Egypt?” He asks, eyebrows raised.
“In Egypt.” You confirm, a weak smile on your face, he doesn’t look thrilled by the process.
“Don’t bother.” He sighs, and the moment he sees your expression fall, he realises how his words had sounded, and he’s sitting up straight, panicked look on his face, spluttering his way through an apology. “I didn’t mean it like that, I’m just busy and it’s going to be hot and-”
“No, I get it.” Your dejected sigh was followed by a yawn, and you hovered over the end call button. “When you’re less tired I think we should talk.” You tell him, and you see the confusion, fear, and resignation pass over his face in quick succession.
He agrees quietly, and neither of you really say goodbye before hanging up.
He was tapping on your shoulder as you were halfway through talking to E! News, and you’ve never been more anxious and excited in your life, and never so thankful to not be at the main photo area on a red carpet. His timing was perfect.
“So sorry, could I borrow Y/N for a minute?” He smiles charmingly at the reporter, and his expression softens when he sees the relief in your eyes.
Before he even starts, it feels off, feels wrong, feels like a performance for the cameras more than anything else.
“Don’t get teary on me, I know how hard your makeup artists worked.” He begins, and you make sure the cameras catch your surprised confusion. He’s takes one of your hands in his, linking your finger together, and the other holds your face. There’s a moment that passes between you two, his expression softens as he looks in your eyes and it’s as if he’s looking past everything that had happened, the whole setup you’d found yourself in; he was seeing you.
“This is probably the biggest night of my life,” he starts, taking a deep breath, “for more than one reason; you’re my best friend, you’ve been there for some of the highest points in my life, and some of the lowest. I know you, Y/N, I feel like I’ve known you my whole life, and I want to. I want you there by my side for the rest of it,” it sounds... so much more planned out than you’d expected, so much more heartfelt, and you’d be damned if there weren’t tears in your eyes. Despite the fact that this very private moment had a huge audience, which included a reporter muttering ‘holy shit, is this what I think it is?’, you could only see him. Damn if it didn’t feel real.
“I love you; I’ve loved your since-” his voice catches in his throat, and you see a hint of pain flash across his face before he’s smiling again, “since I first saw you in that damn wig they put you in,” it sounds like an addendum, like he doesn’t really mean it, or like it’s not the whole truth, but it’s enough to make you laugh, and when you look down to hide your embarrassed smile, your tears fall from your eyes, “since you agreed to all of this,” he gestures to himself with a self-deprecating grin, though his double meaning is not lost on you, though his expression turns serious after a moment, “since I first kissed you on set, though that feels like a long time ago.” Your breath catches in your throat, and he sounds like he hadn’t mean to say that last part, his voice too raw, his heart too honest for it to be a truly fake statement. You can do little more than whisper his name in reverence. Gently, so gently, he lifts your head, his thumb wiping the tear track from your cheek.
“Marry me?” It’s a question this time, and when you look at him with confusion, disbelief written on your face at the way he chose to word it, he laughs softly, sinking to one knee and pulling out the ring box, and revealing the single most frivolous ring you’d ever had the displeasure of seeing. “Will you marry me?” He corrects softly.
The crowd behind you is going absolutely mad behind you, and cameras are going off at an almost blinding rate, but his eyes don’t leave yours. Nodding, you can’t even form words, so caught up in the moment, and he stands, pulling you into a kiss. The flash of cameras surround you like a sea of stars and Ben’s the only thing keeping you on solid ground. His grip is tight enough that he almost lifts you off the ground, and you’re on your tiptoes with his arms around you before his grip loosens, his hands sliding down the small of your back, and for the first time since this whole fake relationship began, he doesn’t hesitate before he deepens the kiss. He tastes like mint and you’re so glad you’re wearing that twenty-four hour lipstick or you know you’d be a mess, and when you pull back, you’re both out of breath, looking at each other with a something akin to awe in your eyes.
You’re pretty sure, in this moment, you love him; nothing fake about it. And you can see it in his eyes that he loves you too. This is dangerous territory for you both.
Stepping back, he takes your hands again.
“I told you not to cry, love.” He laughs gently, voice so soft as you dab at your eyes with your right hand, watching as he slides the ring onto the ring finger of your left hand.
“What can I say, you have a way with words; how long were you working on that speech.” You sniffle, grinning brightly as you examine the ring, still holding his hand. After a beat too long of silence, you look up to see him smiling softly at you.
“A while.” He admits, and something about the way he says it makes your chest ache. The moment passes and he looks down at your joined hands. “That’s fucking hideous.” He whispers, shaking his head at the sight of the ring, and you giggle, preferring to throw your arms around him, kissing him again.
The two of you are the last two to arrive at the formal photo area, with the logo backdrop, and Joe’s grin is confused where he greets you both at the edge of where everyone was in a line getting a group shot.
“What was all the commotion over there?” He asked quietly, and Ben stepped into position easily, slipping an arm around Joe’s shoulders and pulling you in. You were still beaming, you couldn’t help yourself.
“We got engaged.” Ben murmurs to Joe, careful not to draw attention to them, which was immediately counteracted by Joe’s loud ‘What the fuck?!’ “Calm down, man, we didn’t want to take all the focus off of the premiere, you know?”
As soon as the big group shot was taken, you stepped off to the side as the four boys had their photos taken, and you could see Joe murmuring to the others, while Ben just smiled for the cameras and tried not to blush.
Photos were taken with Brian and Roger, of Rami and Lucy, and even some of you and Ben, and when you posed, you both had an arm around each other, and you leaned into him, resting your hand on his chest with your ring on clear display.
There’s congratulations all around as you’re heading into the theatre, but the biggest shock of the night comes in the form of Roger Taylor wrapping you up in a hug while you’re still glowing with pride.
“Before we go in, I want you to know you did an incredible job, dear. You’re a stunning performer and I never had any doubts about you.” As he says it, you can feel Ben give your hand a gentle squeeze. You’re pretty sure you’ve got shock written all over your face. “I’m very proud of you both.” He claps Ben on the shoulder, and Ben thanks him quietly. It looks as though he’s about to head in, but he turns back. “Be good to her, you hear?” He says to Ben sternly, but there’s a glimmer of fondness in his eyes, and Ben rolls his eyes good-naturedly. He’s still holding your hand.
“What was that?” You breathed as soon as Roger had left; you feel like you’ve been doused in cold water, though you can’t help but smile.
“Well I think he definitely approves of you playing Amanda.” Ben moves to wrap an arm around you as the two of you head into the theatre, searching for your seats. “And I think... I think he gave us his blessing?” That sounds more confused than anything else, and you don’t know how to respond one way or the other, apart from softly laughing as you sit down next to Lucy. Part of you, the largest part that had stayed sane and not drunk on this fake engagement, is pretty sure Roger’s going to be the hardest to break it to, when everything’s over; part of you worries that without Ben, you’ll lose his approval, which you didn’t realise you’d been craving until you’d received it. There’s an anxiety that builds in your chest as the lights go down, but Ben’s hand is in yours and you lean your head on his shoulder, and you can ignore that little worry for now.

life’s not fair
so i had a bad dream last night/this morning, and i needed to get it out somehow. so i wrote a fic about it. im not putting this in the tags, im not sticking my taglist on it, and im putting all of it under the cut.
this is okay to reblog, comment on, etc. but it’s only been half-assed edited & not beta’d at all, so please forgive any mistakes.
warnings for: unhappy ending & references to emotional abuse (?)
It was the happiest day of her life.
The dead, rising from their graves—hale and healthy and new again. Alexis didn’t understand the process behind it… she just knew she was going to see her mother again.
The wait was akin to torture. Her heart pounded at her breastbone; her skin was clammy; her mouth dry. She was too hot and too cold all at once. Excitement ran up and down her spine like miniature lightning bolts.
The car pulled up.
Alexis stood, heart on her tongue, watching the passenger side door.
It swung open. The sun glinted off of it, blinding her.
It slammed shut… and there she was.
Three years had passed, but her mother looked the same as she had the last day Alexis had seen her. She moved before she realized she was doing it. Her mother’s arms opened and she sank into them. Home, for the first time in three years.
She could have stayed there forever… until she heard the crunch of gravel.
She pulled away, turning to see which of her uncle’s had gotten here first… only to see a very familiar black, two-door Toyota.
She scowled. "What’s he doing here?"
"I invited him," her mother said, rubbing her back lightly.
Alexis turned, shock on her face. "Seriously?! How could you—" She stopped. "You don’t know." She hadn’t been there. It had happened after. A little over a year after, actually.
"Don’t know what?"
She glared at him, where he was striding over. "What he did to me."
  She woke up cold.
That wasn’t unusual. Not for early January, and certainly not for someone who kept the thermostat at 60F or below.
She stretched, bending her toes outward, feeling the gentle pull of her muscles and joints. She eased out of the stretch, rolled over, and grabbed her phone.
3PM. Not bad, given that she had stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. She unplugged it from her charger and unlocked the phone, intent on resuming the story she’d left off from last night.
Until she caught a glimpse of her signal.
Ugh. Wi-Fi is out again. She rolled her eyes. It went out all of the time—that was what happened when you lived 100 feet further from the pole than they typically recommended.
She rolled out of bed, abandoning her blanket in a heap and made her way to the office.
As soon as she entered the living room, she could tell that something was off. The lights from beneath the Master Bedroom door and the office door were too bright. Both rooms had room darkening curtains—there shouldn’t have been so much light coming in. Ed definitely wouldn’t have opened the curtains.
Of course, one of the cats could have ripped them down. They liked climbing up them. She wouldn’t be surprised if the weight had finally been too much.
With a yawn, she opened the office door… only to stop dead in her tracks.
The curtains were gone. Not piled into a heap on the floor, just… gone. So was Ed’s second TV. And his big-ass recliner. And the hermit crab cage.
And the router.
She turned, opened the bedroom door.
Gone were the dressers, the shelves. Gone was the king size bed (which wasn’t even his!). Gone was his big-ass TV, his gaming system, his games, his massive collection of DVD’s. Gone was everything but a pile of old shoes and a couple of boxes.
Alexis’s eyes stung. Her face was hot. It felt like boiling water was sliding down her face.
She fumbled for her phone. Called him. Once. Twice. Three times. Each went to voicemail.
One of the cats start winding down her legs. She opened up her message app. Texted him. Waited. Waited. Waited.
No response.
Maybe he went back to live with his mother. Alexis found her number. Dialed. It rang. Rang. Went to voicemail.
Blip.
A text message. Not from Ed, from his mom.
Ella: In a conference. What did you need?
Me: Did Ed move back in with you? I woke up and all of his stuff was gone.
Ella: He didn’t say anything to me about that.
Panic, panic, panic.
Me: Please text me back. I’m getting really worried. If you’re not coming back, just tell me.
Google. Pizza place he worked at. Grab the number, call.
Finally, someone answers. Ask to talk to him. He won’t come.
Hang up.
Blip.
Ed: Sorry. I just can’t live there anymore.
It was what she expected. It still hurts. She’s sitting now. Cat won’t stop trying to rub on her face, knead on her leg. She hugs him for a moment, burying her face in his fur. He wiggles away, goes to look out the window again.
She picks her phone up. Dials another number.
"Grandma. Ed’s gone."
He’s made it over now, frowning as she told her tale. His arm is around her mother—it was more than he’d ever given her before she died. For all that he acted like they were together, he rarely ever touched her.
Alexis had told her mom to leave him before. If he wasn’t ready to be all in, but wanted to live in their house; sleep in their bed; mooch off their food, then he didn’t deserve any of that. He was a freeloader.
She’d been thankful for him after, though. Sure, he never gave her the mail and caused her to lose her disability; stole $600 off of her debit card and never paid it back; bitched about the house not being clean but never lifted a finger to help; brought home a cat after she told him no and then refused to help take care of it. But his presence had meant she didn’t have to leave the house, and she was grateful for that. Grateful enough that she put up with him, anyway.
And then he’d left, and hadn’t even given her a chance to prepare, to figure out what to do with the house, with her stuff, hadn’t given them time to prepare a space for her at her grandma’s. Just packed his shit up and bought a house without telling anyone.
It was infuriating.
Her mother listened, and Alexis knew, knew that she would understand—knew that she would see what an asshole he’d been, would be so disappointed in him.
"I’m sorry, Alexis," her mother said. She had always apologized for things that weren’t her fault. "He should have handled that better. But you can’t blame him for being overwhelmed. He’s never had to take care of a whole house before, or be responsible for someone else."
Alexis’s jaw dropped.
"And he knew you had your grandparents, that they would take you in."
No, no, no.
Alexis’s chest felt tight. Her hands balled into fists at her sides. That wasn’t what her mom was supposed to say. She was supposed to understand, not defend him.
Why did everyone always defend him?
She was crying again, elbows on the breakfast table, face buried in her hands. Her grandma pulled her into a hug, the side of her face pressed against her stomach.
"He just didn’t know how to take on all of that," her grandma said. "He’s not used to having to take care of anyone other than himself. Or paying all the bills himself."
"So?! He still could have told me."
"You’re here now," her granddad reminded. He’d been wanting her to move in since her mother died.
Bad things happened for good reasons, sometimes, Alexis reminded herself. It didn’t stop her from being angry. So what if she was there now? She should have been given a chance to prepare!
But he never did that. Never. On the one year anniversary, he’d driven them up to her grandma’s and just left her there, without telling her until five minutes before they left.
Because he didn’t want to deal with her being upset.
Because he was the only one who was hurting. The only one who might want to be in the house. He was a stupid, selfish—
"He took the coward’s way out," Alexis spat. "He’s supposed to be an adult but he acts like a child. And all of you let him get away with it!"
"Ed texted me today," Alexis said sourly.
Ed: Hope you’re doing okay. Found someone to take Gigi. By the way, I met someone.
What the hell was she supposed to say to that? Why the hell was he telling her that? Was she supposed to be happy that he’d moved on from her mother?
No—she knew why he was telling her that.
He wanted her to tell him that it was good, it was okay. He wanted her to alleviate his own guilt over leaving because he knew he did her wrong. And Alexis wasn’t going to give that to him.
"Oh, that was nice of him to tell you," her grandma said. "It’s good that he’s moving on."
Alexis had to focus on keeping her mouth shut, instead of letting it hang open like she wanted.
"I’ve been inviting him to the family get togethers," her grandma said. "I don’t want him to feel like we don’t want him around."
But we don’t. I don’t. "Are you serious? After what he did?" After what he put me through?
"He just wasn’t ready for that kind of responsibility," her grandma said.
"You know if he had come I would have locked myself in my room the whole time, right?" Alexis snapped.
"I knew he wasn’t going to come."
But he could have. And what would you have done if he showed up, and I hid myself away? Would you have accused me of being childish, or would you have sent him away?
Would you have picked me… or him?
Alexis didn’t want to know the answer.
"Okay, what about what he did to Abigail?" Alexis crossed her arms. If what he did to her didn’t matter, maybe what he did to the middle child would.
"He made her feel unwelcome in her own home, so much that she stopped coming over," Alexis said. And then told me I wasn’t doing enough. Said I could make an effort to visit her, instead of her always having to visit me. Never mind that our dad is an asshole. Never mind the way he treated me was worse than the way Ed treated any of us.
"Abby’s always blowing things out of porportion," her mother said. Which was true. She took things worse than they were meant. It was a side effect of living with their father and his wife.
"He also fired her," Alexis snapped. "She went with her boyfriend to an important doctors appointment. She asked for the day off but was scheduled anyway. And when she called and said she was gonna be half an hour, an hour late—he told her not to bother coming in. Never mind that she hadn’t missed any days."
Her mom turned accusing eyes on Ed, but he said, "She got an attitude with me! Like every time she was on shift."
Her mom shook her head.
Alexis wouldn’t doubt it. Her sister had a temper and she didn’t always watch the way things came out of her mouth. But he was the same way. He snapped at her for doing things all the time, or pushed too far in teasing her and got upset when she snapped at him.
Alexis’s fists clenched. "You know what, fine. Fine. You wanna be with him, fine. But I’m not having any part of it. I’m staying here." She gestured to her grandparents house. "And if you wanna visit, leave him behind."
Her mother was supposed to understand. But she didn’t. None of them did. They smiled and said she had her grandparents, that she was fine, that she would be better off with them anyway. None of them understood, or maybe they just didn’t care, how that made her feel. Like she didn’t have the right to be upset. That her feelings didn’t matter. She was just supposed to pick up and move on with her life and that wasn’t fair.
It wasn’t fair that he got to treat her the way he had, that he got to shut her and her siblings out for a year, two years, and waltz back in now. It wasn’t fair that she was expected to be happy for him. It wasn’t fair that he got to pick up and leave without a word goodbye and she was supposed to let that go. It wasn’t fair that when she called him an asshole and refused to talk to him that she was accused of being childish, or petty.
It wasn’t fair.
She didn’t deserve that. She didn’t deserve to constantly doubt if she was allowed to be upset, to be angry, because no one would let her be. Because no one wanted to deal with it.
Because no one wanted to deal with her.
And that… wasn’t fair.

The Grind- Chapter 26
Tumblr media
“You sure about this place, babe? How come you don’t just wanna grab some coffee from The Grind and go back to crash on the couch at home?” I asked as Colton pulled open my passenger side door to walk hand-in-hand with me down the sidewalk.
Luckily, I cautioned Tia’s persistent advice at dinner last night, and limited myself to only three glasses of wine, and one measly shot of Patron. So, Colton’s 7 a.m. feisty bite to the exposed skin of my cheek under the sheet as my wake-up call, wasn’t ruined with a blistering hangover. He was adamant about taking me to some diner he’d heard about from one of the guys at the bike shop to try their German potato pancakes that he was just so certain I’d love, and I was a sucker for a languid, sweatpants breakfast date every now and then.
“It’ll be fine, Livvy. Let’s enjoy some good grub, then I promise we’ll squeeze in a nap before we head to the gym later. Deal?”
He kissed the fingers that were interlocked with his own, then smiled mischievously as we slipped inside, escaping the rustling winds of the morning. We didn’t stop at the ‘wait to be seated sign’, instead Colt scanned the room, peeping over the full booths and tables around the room.
“C’mon, I see an empty table over here, babe.” he pointed, tugging me not so gently to the left of the hostess stand.
“Colton, we have to wai-,” I started to argue with his bullish, bizarre behavior, but before I could state my objections, reality slapped me across the face.
Seated with their backs to us, both sipping on a black cup of the house blend, were two Indiana natives, very far from home. Mom turned around to investigate the bustling approach over her shoulder, and stood to push herself from the seat with an unsure smile.
“Wh-..how did you guys get here? What’s going on?” I babbled wrapping a halfhearted, confused embrace around her neck, searching for an explanation from someone in the party of 3.
“It was all sweet, Colton, Liv honey. He arranged the whole thing. He insisted we come.” mom confessed, admiring Colton with a look of appreciation.
“I wanted ‘em here to see you fight, baby. And to see the house and everythin’. They got here yesterday afternoon, and I got them all set up at Westin, and ate dinner with the both of ‘em last night to get familiar.”
The pieces started to connect then. Why Tia was so snarky with keeping me away from the bottle, why Colton was so incessant about dragging me out of the house before 9 a.m. this morning, and why there was a button-down dress shirt discarded into the hamper when I did laundry after a late return home last night. I internally tipped a hat to his successful undercover moonlighting, though.
“Kid wouldn’t take a dime from us, either. Paid for the tickets, a ride from the airport, and our room, too. Seems we owe this one, sweetheart.” I heard dad say as I took one of the empty seats across the table from he and mom.
Their visit may not have been on my terms, or my timing, but I did feel complete having them here. Although there was a suitcase of nerves that landed on that plane along with their arrival to Pittsburgh, it just felt, right. The four of us, together, all in one place had me swelling with a sense of gladness and completion, all courtesy of the mysterious man in blue seated to my right.
“I can’t believe you did all this, Ritter. I expect a play-by-play when we get home, ya’ big box of lies.” I leaned to kiss him sincerely.
“I’m pretty impressed with myself to tell the truth.”
The meal consisted of bacon all around, mom whining about the cold temperature, those potato cakes Colton was correct about me losing my mind over, and a general calm, steady flow of conversation. I was impressed at how normal, and interested Tony and Liz seemed to be the entire time. Dad never brought up a single utterance of basketball, and mom pounded me with questions about my match, and what it would be like. I felt a connection so genuine that had been minuscule for so many years, and I knew Colton played a tremendous role in the healing psychological wounds.
“You guys should come by the house and spend the afternoon with us. All my stuff is moved in, and it doesn’t look like a construction site anymore. Mom, we could swing by the food market to get what you need for gran’s jambalaya for dinner, too!”
My inner, overly-eager, rambunctious childlike manner took me over, and I instantly began bulleting out an itinerary of events. I’d have to take mom to meet Andrew, and she would die over the Americana at The Grind. And dad, maybe Colton and I could take him to the trolley museum and a PNC park tour in the next couple of days.
“Livvy, we’ve got to try and get to the gym for a few hours today. It’s down to crunch time, babe,” Colt reminded me with apologetic tone. “But, we can check them out their room, and settle ‘em in at the house first, okay?”
Of course, the gym. This week wouldn’t be one of family dinners and touristy adventures with the fight countdown fuse burning low. And now, I had even more work to do down at Temple Fitness with my parents in attendance. The weight of potentially letting Colton, Tia, and the rest of my corner down was sickening enough, now add the weight of Tony and Elizabeth and you’ve got one wound tight Liv. Perfectionism is a weakness not all can relate to, and of that they should be eternally thankful. I failed my Warrior teammates and the rest of my small-town not so many years ago, and that disappointment in itself nearly disconnected me entirely. I may have grown and evolved in many ways since relocating to the Pittsburgh, but the will to please my loved ones was a quality I would undoubtedly live with until my final breath.
“You do whatever needs to be done today, sweetheart. I know these next few days are crucial, so don’t mind us. We’ll take whatever time you can give us.” my mom pats my hand from across the table, and shot and thoughtful smirk.
“We’re just happy to be here, Livvy. You’ve got a good one there.” My dad’s opinion of the man I loved was never considered to be a worry I had, but in that moment, I couldn’t have been more prideful in how truly wonderful Colton had been to them, and to me for organizing this little surprise.
After dragging my parents’ belongings up the front steps of our home, and leaving them the keys to my car in case they got the pangs to explore around a bit, Colton and myself dutifully reported for in for a session down to the gym. The last couple days I had been studying up on a submission move I really wanted to try out. The Omoplata essentially was a move to apply unbearable stress on the arm of your opponent, inevitably resulting in a tap out. Tia, nor Colton had introduced me to the technique, but it was one I had stumbled upon doing some research on my own one afternoon during some down time at the Pilot office. Having never actually seen it done in reality, I only had internet tutorials, and other martial arts circuit fights that had been posted online to educate myself.
Upon trucking into the somewhat crowded parking lot, and settling my duffle into a locker down the hall from the ring room, Tia had called to say something had soured in her stomach, and she wouldn’t be making it in to train with us today unless I wanted to mop up her throw-up. Naturally, I insisted she stay in and recover, leaving me in the hands of Colt.
“Grab the rope, let’s warm up for 10 minutes after you stretch, babe.” my handsome trainer instructed as he downed the settlings of a pre-workout drink at the bottom of his cup.
“Did you remember to tell dad about the construction on Liberty bridge in case they decide to venture out of the house?” My voice vibrated as I bounced with the whip-like jump rope.
“Yep, as we were walkin’ out the front door, Liv. Don’t worry, ‘ight? They’ll be fine. I gotta say though, I wasn’t expectin’ ya’ to be so thrilled about ‘em being here.”
I was fairly flabbergasted myself in that matter, but I had no explanation for my nervous excitement. I guess, maybe it was the common cliché of not knowing how much you in fact needed something, until you had it.
“Thank you, handsome. I really am glad you did all that. Although, I’m a little concerned with all the unsuspected sneaking around you were able to get away with.” I smirked, dropping the braided rope to adjust the tightness of my messy bun.
“It nearly got the best ‘a me lying to you like that, but it was for good reason, at least. Except, them being at the house every night for the next few days may turn out to be a little problem. Seein’ as their daughter can’t keep her greedy little hands off me & all…” he teased unnlacing his trainers to pull of his socks before we moved into the ring. He was knelt on one knee just a foot or two behind where I stood, then inched over in that crouched position to friskily bite the pert cheek of my backside, and grabbed a handful of the other.
I’d never get tired of those stout, mitt-like hands of his touching my body, and I let my head drop backward a bit to sigh into his touch. If by some unfortunate event, things between us happen to fall to pieces again, no man would ever live up to the bar set by the infamous Colton Ritter.
“I can manage a little self-control, you animal. Let’s make a bet on who caves in first, shall we?” I said, stepping over the middle rope of the mat.
“You better be careful playin’ with fire girl. You may get burned.”
Tumblr media
We had bounced around, grappling and rolling for nearly an hour already, with just a couple rushed breaks for water, and I still hadn’t built up the courage to try the move I had been so eager to crack at. I welcomed the respect that Colton had to never half-ass me when we did train one-on-one, however always extremely careful to make sure I was never harmed in any way. His insights, and words of wisdom related to the cage were something I considered to be a matchless gift, and I loved him eternally for offering it up.
Just as I was about to weigh the Omoplata to be the impossible, especially considering my mock opponent at the current time, Colton let down a wall, and broke his own most crucial ‘golden rule’ of fighting. He attempted to tangle me, but instead, mistakenly gave me his back, awarding me the perfect moment to pounce. I pinched his shoulder between the bones of my knees, then swung one leg hurriedly over his head. Colton’s arm was trapped between the center of my limbs, essentially hooked around my left thigh as I crossed my ankles. I flattened his chest and face to the mat with speed I didn’t know I had, and swung my legs to the side, easing into a squat with his helpless arm still locked in. The stretching pressure of his muscle grew the higher I raised, and defeated, Colton yelped out with a tap.
Instantly releasing, I tumbled to my back, and laid to rest with exasperating breaths. Executing the technique on an individual with such a powerful strength, was equally as exhausting on the attacker as the victim, and I could feel my blood tingling, and rushing through my veins like the Colorado rapids.
“I sure as hell don’t fuckin’ remember teachin’ you that, 2-1,” my captor said still face planted onto the canvas, almost cackling. “But you pulled it off with damn near perfection. I’m impressed, baby!”
“That one is just a little something I picked up on my own. Coach…” I replied, mounting his back to massage his shirtless shoulders.
Colton flipped, doing a 180 to now laying on his back, with me still atop him with a sweaty, rosy face.
“Oh, so she thinks she can pin me now, huh? Don’t get too comfortable up there, Elliott. You know I don’t do bottom.”

A Whirlwind Summer
Tumblr media
“’You’re y/n, right? Jisoo’s friend.’ Taehyung asked nonchalantly.
‘Yeah, I am and you’re Taehyung.’ You replied, placing two dollar bills and a small cluster of coins on the palm of his hand.
‘That’s me.’”
↠highschoolAU(obviiii) fluff n’ angst, lots of dialogue if yall dont mind huhu↞
word count: 15k oh my god

a/n: THE LAST TIME I UPLOADED WAS IN DECEMBER HOLY BALLS IM SORRY LOL. ive been writing this on and off for about two months and im so happy to have finally finished it. i hope you guise like it ^-^
Summer was supposed to be two months filled with late nights and lots of leisure reading. You had plans to finally finish a book series that you started at the beginning of the year and of course, you made sure to make time in your busy schedule to hang out with Jisoo.
It was two weeks into summer and you didn’t touch the series you planned to read because your mother thought it would be a good idea to come home from work one day with a bunch of applications for a summer job. You told her that you wanted to start working in college where you were allowed to work on campus and she didn’t mind at all, so when she handed you the stack of applications, you were confused.
“It’s only for the summer, sweetheart. And after this you have some work experience.” Was her reasoning and you knew you couldn’t say no.
After filling out the applications and going to a few interviews, you ultimately decided to work at a cozy ice cream parlour that was located across the park you frequented.
It was early evening which meant there weren’t as much people coming into the parlour. Jisoo was waiting with you to finish because she was going to sleepover at your house. You didn’t drive, so Jisoo was also your ticket home instead of you making the fifteen minute walk back to your house.
“Lighten up, y/n. Sure, your summer may have been ever-so-slightly ruined, but you get free ice cream, so who’s the real winner here?” Jisoo turned a page from her book and sipped on a rootbeer float you prepared for her.
“I have books I’d rather read.”
“But you’re getting paid now! And more money means more books!”
As much as you didn’t want to admit it, Jisoo was right. Instead of verbally admitting it, you took away her rootbeer float and with that, you two jokingly bickered over your slight stubbornness.
The familiar jingle from the entrance door rang and a boy you both knew walked in with three kids who seemed over-excited to be there.
The boy was Kim Taehyung and the only reason why you knew him was because Jisoo had mentioned him a few times and how his friends were always hanging out near the bleachers, blastic music through speakers during lunch and after school. You never spoke to him and you’ve never really gotten in close proximity with him until now. He mumbled something to the kids he was with and strided over the Jisoo who seemed less enthusiastic about the conversation. The kids ran up to the glass that shielded the ice cream flavours and they easily distracted you from focusing on whatever he was talking about with Jisoo.
“At least just think about it.” Taehyung slowly walked towards the register where you were punching in his total.
“Five dollars and thirty-two cents.” You squeezed into his one-sided conversation.
Quietly, he reached into his wallet and brought out the exact change, recounting the cents over and over just to make sure it was correct.
“Jisoo, just think about it and if not, I’ll just relay the message to him—thank you.” He gently plucked the receipt from your hand and gathered the kids who were happily eating their dessert.
“Fine.” Jisoo sighed, not looking up from her book. Taehyung breathed a quiet thank you to her and motioned the kids towards the door.
Before you could even ask, Jisoo answered your question for you.
“I swear, Seo Joon needs to run his errands himself instead of making Taehyung do it.” She slammed her book shut. “I already told him that I don’t want to get back together.”
“Didn’t you two break up like two months ago?” You asked.
“Yes! Since he thought it was a good idea to ‘fake break up’ with me as a dare or whatever, then he’s going to have to deal with the consequences.”
“Spicy.” You commented.
“Exactly. Now, another refill on that rootbeer float because god knows I need it.”
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
A new week, yet the same routine. You woke up that morning, did your usual morning rituals, and walked down to the ice cream parlour with an audiobook playing through your earphones.
Hours ticked on and families came and went, looking for a cold oasis in the heat. You were on the floor with your manager that afternoon and luckily you got along just fine with him.
An elderly woman who introduced herself as Mrs. Song was a regular at the parlour since she was a teenager. So, when she saw a new face, your face in particular, she was elated.
She came into the parlour with her caretaker every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. They sat at the same seats near the counter and ate the same flavour every visit; mint chip for the caretaker and neapolitan for Mrs. Song.
Mrs. Song was a sweet old lady who easily forgets a lot of things. Whenever she saw you and Jisoo, she would always refer to you two as “sweetheart” or “deary”; you loved it whenever she called you that.
The parlour wasn’t as busy except for a few members from the city’s little league came in with their parents. Mrs. Song was reading through a newspaper and her caretaker had her nose inside of a book. You had just finished sweeping from behind the register when the bell of the entrance door rang when a familiar dark haired boy walked in with three younger kids who seemed high in spirits.
Taehyung was a stranger to you, so you weren’t looking for any sort of conversation with him. But you did have a feeling that he was probably going to ask you about Jisoo. The three kids sat on the remaining counter seats, waving sweetly at Mrs. Song who seemed excited to see them.
Taehyung approached the casing where the tubs of ice cream were and you were hoping your manager was going to take his order, but after a quick look around the room, he wasn’t present.
Good grief. You set aside the broom and glided towards the ice cream flavors.
“Hello, how can I help you?” The tone of your customer service voice disgusted you.
“Yeah uh, can I have three small cups of cookies and cream, chocolate, and rocky road.” Taehyung hummed as you reached for three cups. “What flavor do you recommend?”
You stared at the flavors for a moment before grabbing the ice cream scooper. “I personally like chestnut praline and brownie crunch.”
He nodded his head and chewed on the inside of his cheek, still indecisive on what flavor he wanted.
“Would you like a sample of both?” You asked.
“Hm, sure.”
You grabbed two plastic spoons and scooped up a tiny portion of each flavor for him to try and as he pondered his choices, you finished up the kids’ orders and set it in front of them.
“I’ll just take brownie crunch in the medium cup, please.” Taehyung spoke whilst throwing away the spoons in the nearby trash can.
As you were scooping the amount into the cup, you glanced at Taehyung who was pulling out a couple of bills out of his wallet. He looked over at the kids who were having a great time listening to Mrs. Song tell a story.
“That’ll be seven dollars and seventy-two cents.” You handed over the cup with a napkin wrapped around it.
Taehyung handed you two five dollar bills and took a bite of his ice cream.
“You’re y/n, right? Jisoo’s friend.” Taehyung asked nonchalantly.
“Yeah, I am and you’re Taehyung.” You replied, placing two dollar bills and a small cluster of coins on the palm of his hand.
“That’s me.” There was a brief moment of silence between you two as he lazily stuffed the change into his pocket. “Well, I’ll see you around. Let’s go guys.”
The three little boys waved goodbye to Mrs. Song and her caretaker. Her eyes lit up as she watched them leave the parlour. She then turned to you and said with a smile, “your boyfriend works well with kids, sweetheart.”
There was no point in telling her otherwise because she was probably not going to remember who Taehyung was the next time she was going to see him. So, you just smiled politely and wiped down the counter with a small towel.

Your day offs never seemed to recharge your battery to its fullest capacity, but it was enough for you to wind down with a book and an iced tea.
Although today wasn’t one of those days.
It was a warm and slow late afternoon. You were sitting on a stool behind the register, reading one of your books and drinking a milkshake your manager made for you. You were heavily invested in your book that you almost didn’t hear the door open.
To your surprise, Taehyung walked in with his head down and his shoulders dipped forward. As he walked closer to the counter, you noticed multiple splotches of dirt and grass all over his clothes. There was also a fresh gash the size of a golf ball on his knee.
“Holy shit, what happened to you?!” You snapped your book shut with your bookmarker almost sliding out. He was going to take a seat at one of the stools at the counter but you guided him to one of the tables so he has back support.
“My cousin had little league practice and a some of the kids’ chaperones and I decided to have a little game of our own.” Taehyung explained and slowly lifted his injured leg to rest on the second chair you pulled out for him. “I was going for home base and slid towards it as if my life depended on it—I mean, my team won, but at what cost?” He winced as he adjusted himself in the chair.
“Hold on, I’ll get a first aid kit.” You disappeared in the back room and quickly returned with a large white box.
Cleaning up cuts and scratches was a norm for you because of how much time you spent watching your little cousins at the park. It happened so often that it became it habit to carry band aids and alcohol pads in your bag.
“So, where’s your cousin?” You crouched beside him and rummaged through the box.
“He already had plans to play video games at his friend’s house after practice so he went there and I...ended up here.” Taehyung explained squeezing his eyes shut.
“And what brought you here?”
“Honestly, I don’t know. I was just walking and—ow! Fuck!” His entire leg flinched at the sudden contact of his gash and the alcohol pad touching.
“Shit, sorry! I should’ve warned you, I’m so sorry!” On instinct, you blew on his gash to cool down the stinging of the alcohol--something you did for your cousins.
“It’s uh, it’s okay, sorry. You can continue.” Taehyung tightly gripped the hem of his shirt and looked away to brace for impact, so with caution, you proceeded to clean his wound.
There were broken hisses coming from him and he squeezed his hand tighter and tighter until his knuckles ghosted white. You glanced up at him once in a while and pressed your lips together to keep yourself from smiling. This sight was a complete 180 from what you see at school; he walked around with confidence seeping from every pore and right now all confidence disappeared.
“I don’t think there’s any bandage that’s big enough for this.” You moved around some of the objects inside of the first aid kit. “I’ll just patch it up with some gauze okay?” Taehyung weakly nodded his head, still not looking at his knee. In less than five minutes, you had his knee all patched up and ready to go.
“There you go. Just don’t forget to remove the gauze and clean your cut later.” You stood up, trying to not fall over from being crouched over for so long.
Taehyung nodded and when you returned from the back room, he thanked you for coming to his aid. He limped over to where the ice cream was and pondered his choices before ultimately choosing chestnut praline in a medium sized cup.
“Did Jisoo mention anything about Seo Joon?” He asked.
You thought about a few days ago when Jisoo ranted about how she was over Seo Joon and that he wanted nothing to do with him, but you bit your tongue knowing this wasn’t any of your business.
“No, nothing new.” You handed Taehyung his ice cream over the casing.
“Well, if you don’t mind, could you tell her to lay down the line with Seo Joon please? I swear it feels like I talked to her way more than he did.”
You weren’t sure if Taehyung meant to say that outloud because this really wasn’t your business. He stabbed around his ice cream and hopped over to the counter seat. Ever since Jisoo mentioned it, you were curious yourself, so you took the chance to ask him.
“Why does he make you do it instead of doing it himself?”
Taehyung rubbed the back of his neck and you began to regret asking in the first place.
“I don’t...really know why. He asks me to do it and I just do it, I guess.” He simply stated. The tone of his voice sounded hesitant, but you decided not to dwell on it.
You hummed and made sure to receive Taehyung’s payment for the ice cream. You also hoped that this was going to be the last time you were going to have a conversation with him.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
Of course, your hopes were shot down in one blow.
Two days after your encounter with Taehyung, you were working during a mild heatwave. The parlour was busier than normal, but thankfully it was nothing chaotic.
You had just served Mrs. Song her second cup of ice cream and your manager blended you a chocolate banana milkshake, telling you to take a break. The excitement in your eyes was hard to contain as you untied your apron and sat one seat away from Mrs. Song.
She was invested in putting together the same fifty piece puzzle she brought with her every other week, so you scrolled through your phone letting her be.
“Hey.” Taehyung’s voice came from out of nowhere, startling you. “You’re off today?”
“Hi.” You squeaked. “Just on break.”
He set his phone and wallet down in front of the seat next to you and took a five dollar bill as he walked to the register.
Not even five minutes passed and Taehyung slid onto the seat and stuffed his wallet with whatever change he had in his hand. Just at quick glance, you could already tell he ordered another cup of chestnut praline ice cream. Without saying another word, he took a bite out of his dessert and he mindlessly stared at the menu of other items that were sold at the parlour.
You took another quick peek at Taehyung who had the front of his hair tied messily into a short ponytail on the top of his head. The tank top he wore was slightly damp on the backside and his shoulder glistened whenever the sun or the ceiling lights hit it at a certain angle. The weather outside was scorching and you were grateful for being in a closed air-conditioned space.
The milkshake you were drinking was already halfway through and you didn’t even realize it. You were too focused on whether or not you should talk to Taehyung. It still felt awkward for you to start a conversation with him because, to put it simply, you really didn’t know how.
Conversations with Taehyung only happened by chance and out of pure convenience, but this time you weren’t behind the counter to serve him ice cream and he wasn’t writhing in pain from some sort of injury.
Duh, ask about his knee.
“How’s your knee?” You asked shly. Talking to him was also not necessary, but you felt compelled to do so.
He looked down which made your head automatically tilt downward; a layer of what looked to be fresh gauze was wrapped around his right knee.
“I have to limp around because of the gauze but other than that, it’s alright.” He twisted his leg to showcase his bandaged injury. “Thanks again, by the way. My mom thought nearly fainted when I got home.” Taehyung laughed as he said that which gave you leeway to laugh as well.
“Why?”
“She thought I got into a fight during my cousin’s practice especially because of all the dirt on my clothes.” Taehyung laughed with his entire body, almost falling over. “She look mortified. So we went out to buy gauze that night.”
“Your mom sounds like my mom. My mom tends to overreact even when it’s slightest injury.” You smiled to yourself.
“I know what you mean. They’re a bit dramatic, but they mean well.” Taehyung mixed around his ice cream. “It also doesn’t help the fact that I’m an only child, so I’m always getting the lecture ‘Taehyung, you’re my one and only baby blah blah blah.’”
The look on Taehyung’s face looked rather relaxed than annoyed as he said those words. It was a bit scary how you could relate because again, you two were polar opposites. Although, honestly, it was comforting in a way.
“I feel you.” You sighed. “But Jisoo is basically treated like family in my house, so I share those lectures with her.”
Taehyung left the plastic spoon in his mouth for a brief moment before speaking. “It must be great Jisoo has that relationship with your family.” He hung his head as scooped up a small portion of his ice cream.
“But you have Seo Joon, Minho, and the rest of your friends.”
“I--I don’t really invite them over.” He explained quietly and your eyes widened.
“Why not?”
Before Taehyung could answer you, your manager called your name to take over the register because of a conference call he had to take. You purse your lips together and apologized to Taehyung for cutting your conversation short. He waved it off with a smile and continued to feast on his dessert.
As you returned to the register to take an order for a family of five, you side-eyed Taehyung who was leaned towards his right, whispering and smiling with Mrs. Song. Unfortunately, you were too busy focusing on punching in numbers to focus on what they were saying and with Mrs. Song’s memory and imagination, their conversation could’ve been about anything.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
Your next day off fell on the perfect day; the summer heat was bearable so you decided to get yourself a free refreshing milkshake from the ice cream parlour and read a book under a large tree at the park.
Music played through your earphones as you crossed the street with a chestnut praline milkshake in your hand. The summer dress you chose to wear was a peach color made up of a very light material to keep yourself cool; it was also your favorite clothing item.
The park wasn’t overly crowded which was perfect. There were some families having picnics, kids were running all over the playground, and there was a group of people off in the distance. Near the entrance was the most exquisite looking tree that provided the right amount of shade in all angles and you automatically gravitated towards it.
You packed a large blanket in your satchel and as well as a second blanket to cover your legs if you decided to lie down because even if you were wearing safety shorts, you knew better. The slightest breeze, a perfect tree, a milkshake, and a good book made up your day off and you couldn’t be any more happier.
After switching your position a thousand times, you decided to sit cross legged to keep your dress pinned down with your milkshake in between your thighs. You mindlessly played with the tassels that surrounded your blanket and continued to read your book.
The sudden drop of a heavy object next to you scared you out of your wits and the milkshake you secured almost spilt all over your blanket. Heart racing, you looked up to find Taehyung looking down at you with a boxy grin plastered on his face. A skateboard was the object that had dropped on the grass beside you and he then stripped himself of the flannel he was wearing to cover a spot on your blanket for himself to sit on.
“A warning would’ve been nice.” You sighed, placing a hand over your chest. “And you could have just sat on my blanket.”
Taehyung slid his shoes off to imitate your position and sit cross legged as well. “I’m probably covered in dirt. My cousin had practice down there and we decided to have another baseball match.” He moved his limbs around for you take a look at his skin. “No injuries, just dirt.”
“Good.” You smiled and tried to focus on your book, but Taehyung continued to distract you by ripping out the grass beside him. The one thing that didn’t sit right with you was how did Taehyung spot your from all the way on the other side of the park? And even if he was able to recognize you, why was he sitting with you?
“Is that book for school?” He asked, taking a peek at the cover.
“No, just for the joy of reading.” You closed the book realizing there was no way you could stay focused. “Is the little league still practicing?”
“They should be done right about now. The team is going to the community pool and my cousin is sleeping over a friend’s house after.” Taehyung explained. “I was about to leave and then I saw you sitting all the way over here--why are you all the way over here?”
You laughed and took a sip out of your milkshake. “It’s a nice tree to sit under, wouldn’t you agree?”
Taehyung stole the condensated cup out of your hand and proceeded to drag out a long sip of your drink making your jaw hang.
“Yeah, it’s a good spot.” He nonchalantly said before leaning back to lie down. “And that’s a really good drink. Since when could you turn chestnut praline into a milkshake?”
You clenched your fist to stop yourself striking his stomach. “It’s literally on the menu, Taehyung. ‘Turn your favorite flavor into a milkshake.’”
Not a single word was breathed out by Taehyung for about two minutes, which was odd. Maybe it was the right time to continue reading.
“You know,” Taehyung started.
Or maybe not.
“I don’t know why, but it sounded different when you said my name.”
“How?” You scrunch your eyebrows together because what he said made no sense. It was his name. Why would it sound any different? “Did you want me to call you something else?”
“No, no, y/n. ‘Taehyung’ is fine.”
Taehyung never mentioned anything else after that. He laid there with his eyes closed and you didn’t know when, but he fell asleep at some point. You glanced back and forth from your book to him just to check and make sure he was still sleeping. It was difficult to not be hung up over what he mentioned, but if he wasn’t going to expand more on his thoughts then maybe it wasn’t important.
You stayed at the park for almost an hour; you even finished your book. It was tempting to not wake up Taehyung because he looked too peaceful to disturb, but it had to be done. After shaking his leg a few times and quietly calling his name (you were now feeling self conscious about the way you said his name), Taehyung woke up in a hazy state.
Taehyung assisted you in folding up your blanket and before gesturing you to leave first, he said, “see you.”
No “see you tomorrow” or “see you next week” just a plain “see you.” When were you going to see him again? Who knows.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
“Are you sure you don’t need a ride, y/n?” Jisoo handed you a paper bag and you handed her a rootbeer float in return.
You had thirty minutes till 9 pm which meant thirty more minutes till you could finally lock up and go home. Since you worked a long shift, Jisoo agreed to pick up a book from a bookstore that you preordered.
“Yes, Jisoo. It’s a nice night. It’s perfect for walking.” Jisoo blew her bangs upwards, obviously concerned about you walking home so late. “All of the late-night restaurants on this block are still open and I have my emergency whistle.”
You were stubborn, of course, Jisoo knew that first hand. So, she reached over the counter to squish your cheeks together. “Okay, fine. But you better text me when you get home!”
“I-prom-ise.” It was your turn to reach over and squish Jisoo’s cheeks.
“Okay. I have to go.” She released your face and held yours hands instead. “If anything happens—“
“Call you, yes, mom.” You gently pushed her away and laughed. “Just go, Jisoo.”
As Jisoo stepped backwards, she pointed towards her eyes and then towards yours indicating I’m watching you. But she meant that in the most endearing way possible. She was the sister you’ve always wanted, but god knows your mom wouldn’t know how to properly handle the both of you. So being friends was the best thing the world could offer.
Right before Jisoo’s entire body left the entrance, she was speaking to someone at the door and you could already tell who it was in your peripherals; none other than Taehyung. He waved at Jisoo then turned on his heel to greet you. You weakly waved at him because you were too distracted by Jisoo flailing her arms and giving you a thumbs up before fully skipping out the door.
“Hey.” Taehyung handed you a five dollar bill and at this point you didn’t need to ask him about his order. “Are you closing?”
“Yeah. My manager had to leave early because his babysitter couldn’t stay long today.” You handed him his chestnut praline ice cream in a medium cup. “What brings you here?”
He shrugged his shoulders and took a large bite of his ice cream. “It was a nice night, decided to go for a walk.”
“A walk?” You questioned. “To the ice cream parlour.”
“Not exactly. Just, you know, around. Then I saw Jisoo through the glass and then I saw you.”
His words were casual, but he was everything but. He stared at the menu, indenting crescent shaped marks into the peaks of his ice cream with his spoon. You were trying your hardest to not make the atmosphere weird between you two, but Taehyung was already way ahead of you.
Taehyung sat quietly at the counter as you wiped around the register until he offered to help you clean up the parlour after he scarfed down his ice cream. You protested, reminding him that you were the employee but he kept his hand out, waiting for some sort of cleaning instrument; it takes one to know one, so you knew he was going to be stubborn if you didn’t comply. You eventually handed him a broom and dustpan to sweep up dining area while you took care of the areas behind the register and back rooms.
Cleaning with Taehyung felt almost therapeutic because he turned played some piano jazz from his phone to keep a gentle ambience for cleaning. He cracked jokes here and there but majority of the time was spent tidying in comfort.
“I guess I have to pay you now for helping me.” You joked, getting ready to lock up.
“I’ll take half of my payment in the form of free ice cream tomorrow.” He said quickly.
“And the other half?”
Taehyung turned the open side around to read closed and pondered his options. “I get to walk you at least halfway to your house since it’s late and all.”
You had to admit, you were grateful that Taehyung offered to walk you only half way because you didn’t feel comfortable revealing your home to him just yet. You were also convinced that Jisoo probably put him up to it since they spoke a little at the door, but when you brought it up to Taehyung, he denied the assumption.
“Hm.” You bit the inside of your cheek. “Okay, but only halfway.”
Taehyung trotted down the sidewalk beside you with his arms gently swaying at his sides. All the street lights were all working properly and just as you told Jisoo, the restaurants and pubs along the walkways were also quite lively; this made the walk a little less awkward.
But talking won’t hurt either.
“Did Seo Joon talk to Jisoo yet? Because she hasn’t mentioned him lately.” You asked.
“I honestly don’t know. He hasn’t said anything about her either.” Taehyung kicked a rock off the curb. “In my opinion, I think he’s wasting his time.”
You threw your hands up in the air in relief. “Exactly! Jisoo and I say that all the time. We don’t know why he’s always making you guys constantly ask Jisoo to give him another chance when she said no many times.”
“Yeah. No means no.”
A cyclist with a headlight was approaching ahead of you and on instinct, Taehyung tugged you by the hand to make more room for the man to pass through. As he biked past, he quickly yelped out a thank you and sped off into the night.
“At least he had the decency to say thank you.” Taehyung whispered.
“Y-Yeah.” You tried to stifle the stutter in your voice as you wriggled your hand out of Taehyung’s.
He could have easily grabbed your forearm or even simply tell you to move to the side. Instead, he boldly took your hand into his and even held onto it for about five more seconds after the cyclist biked past.
For the rest of the way, you two remained silent only increasing the awkward tension. Even after thanking him and saying bye, you couldn’t stop think about holding his hand. It was annoying because you had no reason to be thinking about it this hard. It annoyed you so much to the point you called Jisoo as soon as you got him because god, you felt like you were going crazy.
“I can’t say I’m that surprised, y/n. When I asked what he was doing at the parlour he said he wanted to see you.”
You quickly sat up on your bed and practically yelled, “really?! But why?!”
“Who knows and I don’t mean to offend you in any way, I promise but, isn’t that kind of weird?”
“No, I know what you mean.” You scratched your head and fell back against your pillows. You obviously didn’t know Taehyung as long as Jisoo had, but you never saw him flirt much with other or even just hang around with other people besides his crew.
“If he’s trying to flirt with you, he’s doing a bad job.”
“Jisoo!”
Jisoo laughed in your ear. “I’m kidding, y/n. But honestly, Taehyung is nothing like Seo Joon’s dumbass, but just be careful.”
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
Maybe talking to Jisoo was a bad idea. The whole day at work you couldn’t stop thinking about holding hands with Taehyung and hearing her words be careful. She was just being protective of course and you weren’t going to stand there and lie to yourself and say that Taehyung isn’t a good guy. You only thought that way in the beginning because he hung around Seo Joon, but so far, Taehyung has been nothing but nice to you. But Jisoo was right, you had to be careful.
You drummed your fingers against the countertop. There had been multiple moments where you zoned out because of your own thinking. It had to stop.
“Hi, y/n.”
But how could it stop when you owed Taehyung free ice cream.
“Hey, Taehyung. Your ice cream is ready and waiting.”
He sat patiently at the counter and you caught him smiling at you while scooping the ice cream into a cup.
“Are you closing again today?”
You looked at the clock behind you.
2:32 PM
“No, I opened, so I’m getting off at five.”
Taehyung mouthed the word five and took a large bite out of his ice cream. He sat in silence while you cared for other customers that came in. He even smiled and waved at one of the toddlers who shyly hid behind her father’s leg. Taehyung cooed for her to give him a high five and after making some embarrassing faces, she emerged from her hideout and skipped over to give Taehyung a high five.
You couldn’t help but smile. Taehyung outside of school was a whole new person. He seemed more independent and gentle rather than the rowdy demeanor he gives off at school.
Why was someone like Taehyung hanging around a jerk like Seo Joon? Seo Joon had an inflated ego and believed he could have anything he wanted. Taehyung, on the other hand, was the complete opposite--although, you couldn’t say much because you never spent a significant amount of time with him.
God, y/n. It’s sounding like you want to spend more time with him.
“Are you busy after work, y/n?” Taehyung wiped his mouth with a napkin and inched closer to the register.
You gave it some thought. “No…? No, I don’t think I am. Why?”
“Well…” He started off quietly. “The little league is having a late practice and I was wondering if you wanted to come by and watch.”
Just when you were thinking about spending time with Taehyung, the universe read your mind. It was a very tempting offer and this would give you a chance to get to know him better--in a friendly way of course. So, you happily accepted and he gave you instructions to where he would be at the park for you to find him.
“I’ll see you later then, y/n.” Taehyung discarded his trash and stuffed his hands in his pockets.
“Yeah.” You breathed. “Bye Taehyung.”
As Taehyung started to walk out the door, he looked back to wave and the smile he wore looked genuine, making you smile unknowingly.

The next few hours flew by in a blink of an eye. One second you were refilling the sugar cone stack and next you were walking out of the parlour with two chestnut praline milkshakes in each hand. The milkshakes were a last minute idea, plus a ziploc bag of snacks in your satchel.
The dim rays of the sun hit your skin, but it wasn’t as hot as noon time. You passed through area of the park where most families were stationed--near the playground and bathrooms. Just beyond that was an open area where you spotted the dugout and playing field.
The closer you got, the sight of children running around with their baseball gloves and their parents watching from the side. You walked around the large diamond, past the dugout and found Taehyung sitting cross legged on the lush grass. He was cheering on the team and in the midst of that, your presence caught his attention.
“Y/n! Hey!” He called out with a boxy grin.
“Hi.” You waddled over and handed him his milkshake before sitting beside him.
“Thank you, but you really didn’t need to.” Even if he said that, he excitedly took a long sip out of his refreshment.
“It’s still warm out so I thought this would help while we watch--oh! I also packed some cookies.” You pulled out one of the ziplocs filled with a mixture of oreos, chocolate chip, and shortbread cookies. “We crush them for toppings.”
Taehyung smiled gratefully and proceeded to pull out an oreo. He then pointed out his cousin and explained their current game plan. You had little to no knowledge about baseball and Taehyung patiently answered your questions to the best of his abilities.
“Wow. So did you play baseball too?” You asked.
“No. I actually didn’t play much sports. I just learned from my cousin’s dad because he coached a little league team on the side before his firm skyrocketed.” Taehyung told you stories about his childhood and how he was intrigued with baseball despite never being on a team. He laughed while telling you that the reason why he never joined his uncle’s little league team was because his mom didn’t want him to get hurt.
“And apparently she still carried on the same ethic as you went onto high school.” You joked.
“Yeah, yeah she did.” Taehyung let out a deep chuckle. “How about you? Any sports?”
You scrunch your nose and shook your head. “I was, and still am, a bookworm.”
The parents and other spectators began to cheer and on an instinct, you and Taehyung did the same even if you two had no idea what was going on with the game. After the cheering died down, Taehyung smoothly continued the conversation.
“What kind of books do you like to read?”
“I like young adult fiction and psychological thrillers.” You answered shyly.
Taehyung raised his eyebrows and popped a shortbread cookie into his mouth. “I would have never guessed that you liked to read psychological thrillers.”
“Do I look that much of a goody two shoes?”
“N-No, of course not. It’s just that...uh…” He rubbed the back of his neck, trying to fish for words that wouldn’t offend you.
“I’m kidding, Taehyung.” You snickered. “I know I don’t look like it, I own a lot of psychological thriller books. It’s unbelievably captivating. ”
“Well, maybe you could recommend a book for me. I don’t read much and you seem to know what’s good.”
Naturally, your eyes lit up. Jisoo didn’t prefer psychological thrillers because she got nightmares easily and your other friends weren’t as much as a bookworm as you were. “Yeah, of course. I’d probably have to look through my selection to find something that’s not too scarring for you to start with.”
Taehyung settled his his milkshake in between his legs and fiddled with his fingers. He stared up into the cotton candy sky for a brief moment. “Maybe we could, I don’t know, exchange numbers so you could let me know when you found a book?”
You weren’t going to sit there and lie to yourself and say that his request didn’t make your heart skip a beat. Things weren’t being rushed, right? It was just his phone number. It’s not like he was asking you out on a date on the spot.
“Sure, yeah.” You gave him your number and within seconds, you received a text that contained a string of book emojis. “I guess I’ll start looking through my bookcase when I get home later.”
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
After that early evening at the park, you and Taehyung texted almost everyday. He still came by to visit you at the ice cream parlour. Most days he came with his cousin and his cousin’s friends and other days, he came by on his own. Whenever he visited when you worked the closing shift, he always walked you halfway home; it sort of became a ritual.
This type of connection with a boy didn’t always come by, so it was something you gladly and cautiously shared with Jisoo. You expected her to be hesitant about the whole thing, but she was completely on board the ship. She was still reminding you to keep yourself guarded, but she promised to be supportive no matter what was going to happen between you and Taehyung.
You lended Taehyung three of your books since then and after he completed a book, he would rant to you about the plot, certain characters he disliked, and he even told you that he was a slightly paranoid for two nights; you did warn him about that.
The air was oddly cooler that evening which made it a pleasant walk home. Your dad was picking out a bottle of wine out of the mini fridge in the dining while you were splayed lazily on your sofa, returning texts from Jisoo, Taehyung, and your dad--as a joke.
“How was work, sweetheart?” He asked.
“Kind of slow, but I got to try out some flavours that the parlour is going sell during the fall.” You flipped over onto your side and scanned his bottle choice. “Why don’t you go with chardonnay? It’s mom’s favorite and she’s been working long hours this whole week?”
Your dad stared at the bottle of cabernet and nodded his head. “You know, your knowledge about wine is concerning.”
“You and mom are wine drinkers, of course I would know.” You laughed.
Jokes were exchanged between you and your dad while the smell of garlic and basil floated throughout the room. You were having a great time teasing your dad that you almost didn’t noticed your phone vibrating on the sofa.
“Hello?”
“Hey, y/n. Sorry, are you busy?”
“No, no, Taehyung.  I’m just at home. What’s up?”
Taehyung never called you, so this was a curveball.
“I’m actually going to sleepover my cousin’s house tonight and tomorrow, so I wanted to return your book and borrow the next one before I head over there; just so I can have something to do to pass the time while I’m there.”
“I--uh,” You glanced at your father who was mixing what looked to be like a pasta salad. “Yeah, you can stop by. I’ll text you my address and just let me know when you’re here.”
This would be the first time Taehyung would be anywhere near your house. He always walked you halfway, never two-thirds or three-fourths of the way. You were nervous, probably for no reason since he was only dropping off a book.
Ten minutes, you received a here text that was accompanied by a smiley emoji. You already informed your dad, so you skipped outside to find Taehyung standing awkwardly next to your mailbox.
“Hey, did you walk all the way here?”
“Nah, skateboard.” Taehyung moved to the side the reveal his skateboard that was planted on the patch of grass surrounding your mailbox. “Here you go.”
Taehyung handed you the novel in exchange for the next book.
“So, how’d you like it?”
Taehyung blew out a breath and shook his head. “That...was quite the read. I wasn’t expecting her to be the cult leader’s daughter like what?!” He expressed his shock by flinging his hands out in front of him. “And that chase? I was clenching my ass cheeks reading that part.”
You laughed, recalling how your entire body seized up reading that exact same scene. “Yeah, I know exactly how you feel. I finished this novel in one day.”
“Damn.” He breathed. “How about this one--The Dead House? How is it?”
“I guess you’re going to have to read it to find out yourself.” You smiled slyly at him and he scoffed with a similar smile.
The sound of a car pulling in caught both of your attentions. Your mother waved at you through the windshield and exited the car. On the inside, you were desperately praying hard for your mom to not embarrass you in any way.
“Hi honey.” She slipped a swift kiss to your cheek and stuck her hand out towards Taehyung. “And you must be Taehyung. Y/n tells me that she’s been recommending you books.”
Taehyung nervously wiped his hand at the bottom of his shirt before making contact with your mother’s. “Y-Yes, ma’am. That’s me, I’m that Taehyung.”
Your mom smiled sweetly at him and then turned to face you. “Well honey, why don’t we have Taehyung for dinner? Unless you have somewhere else to be.”
Your jaw hung open and you exchanged glances between your mom and Taehyung. You shrugged your shoulders and nodded your head towards him. “Are you busy?”
He also shared anxious glances towards you and your mom before answering. “No, n-no. I’d love to stay for dinner.”
Anxiety built up as you watched Taehyung shake hands with your dad. They knew he wasn’t your boyfriend, but the only reason they were this excited was because you haven’t had a single guy come over for dinner since your freshman year. There were fifteen minutes left on the oven, so your mom, being as sweet as she was, instructed you to show Taehyung your bookcases.
“Wow.”
Taehyung scanned the walls of your room that were splattered with a pale yellow and white paint that were designed in vertical stripes. The floors of your room were a mahogany wood that was consistent with your entire house and in the middle of your room was a pearl white coffee table sitting on top of a large dark gray circular rug.  There were two bean bag chairs surrounding the table and small stack of magazines on top.
Beside your desk in the corner of your room were two large off-white bookcases; it looked as if you were almost in desperate need of a third one. He tiptoed over and gently ran his finger over a couple of the spines of a row of books.
“I never pictured your room to be like this.” Taehyung commented.
“And how did you picture it?” You sunk down onto one of the bean bag chairs and he followed in suit.
He shrugged his shoulders. “Bigger? And maybe...light purple?”
You threw your head back and laughed. “I like things comfy and cozy. When we first moved here, my parents wanted me to take the office room down the hall, but apparently I threw a tantrum because this was the room I wanted.”
“You threw a tantrum? Now that is something I have to witness.”
“No, no it’s not.”
For the next fifteen minutes, you answered Taehyung’s questions about your room and even shared stories from your childhood when you first moved in. He learned that you’ve lived in this house your entire life, but only started attending your current high school at the beginning of freshman year because your dad switched office locations.
“Do you miss your old friends?” He asked quietly.
“I do, but I mean, we still talk frequently so it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be.” You explained. “And plus, I’ve made amazing friends at our school.”
Taehyung flashed you the shyest smile before hiding it behind the back of his hand. Your statement was meant for your girlfriends, but Taehyung was silently woven into it too. You had to admit, he was a great friend. Ever since you started texting him almost everyday, talking to him was so much easier; conversations weren’t forced anymore and you breathed fine around him.
Your dad called you two from the door and apologized for not asking Taehyung if he was vegetarian at the beginning. Of course, you knew he wasn’t.
The menu was baked chicken with rice and mixed vegetables. There was also a bowl of pasta salad which Taehyung become quite fond of; your dad ended up packing a small serving of the pasta to take home with him. To add on the constant generous gestures, he even offered to drive Taehyung home since the sun had gone down, but Taehyung politely declined, stating that his home was just a ten minute skateboard ride away.
“Your parents are great.” Taehyung walked down the driveway after shaking your parents’ hands and thanking them for dinner.
“They’re just being that way because you’re here.” You giggled and handed him the styrofoam bowl of pasta you held for him.
Taehyung sighed into the night sky and ruffled his hair. “Tonight was one of the best nights I had in awhile. Thanks again for having me.”
“It’s no problem at all. I’m glad you had a nice time.”
He placed his skateboard on the sidewalk and took a step forward towards you. He extended his arms outward and enveloped you in a hug which caught you completely off guard. Although, the slightest hesitation, you wrapped your arms around his torso and heard his deep laughter vibrate near your ear.
“I’ll see you later then.” Taehyung whispered, slowly letting you go.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
It was difficult for you to function for the next few days all because Taehyung gave you a hug. This wasn’t fair. How were you supposed to focus on your books and your job if you were so preoccupied with a measly hug.
Jisoo was ecstatic about the idea. She teased you about it because it had been way too long since you’ve been worked up over a guy. You almost didn’t tell her because you knew how she would react, but Jisoo was your best friend so you had to tell her.
The parlour was just starting to die down and you were listening to Mrs. Song passionately talk about her late husband and how he always brought home at least one kind of flower whenever he came home from work. Her caretaker probably heard these stories over a hundred times, but she listened and smiled as if it were her first time hearing it.
“He sounds like a great man, Mrs. Song.” You said with the brightest smile.
“Oh, deary! He was an amazing man. Find yourself a gentleman who is never afraid to show you off and show how much he cares for you.” As Mrs. Song said that, she reached over to grasp onto your hands.
“Of course, ma’am. I will.” You squeezed tightly onto her frail hands and felt your chest cave it. Meeting Mrs. Song was one of the greatest things to ever happen in your life.
Mrs. Song’s caretaker tidied up the ice cream cups and newspaper that she brought which indicated that it was time for them to head back home. They both waved you goodbye and Mrs. Song took small steps with her walker towards the door.
Just on time, you spotted Taehyung through the glass and he rushed to the entrance door to open the door for Mrs. Song. She held onto Taehyung’s hand and they exchanged a few words which were too hushed to hear from where you were. But as they were departing, Taehyung caught you staring and shot you a smile before you shyly turned away.
“You know,” Taehyung began. “Staring is rude.”
You let out a sarcastic laugh and provided him with his usual order. “Yeah, yeah.”
“Oh, can I order tubs of ice cream in advance?” Taehyung asked.
“Uh, yeah. But only in these flavours.” You rummaged through some papers that were stashed inside a compartment.
He plucked the paper out of your hands and read through the list. “I’ll take a gallon of rocky road, neapolitan, and--sucks there’s no chestnut praline.” You both chuckled and Taehyung continued to stare at the list. “And a gallon of vanilla.”
You punched in numbers into the register and Taehyung already had his card out waiting to pay.
“Having a party?” You questioned and ripped out the receipt. “Just bring this receipt whenever you come in to grab the ice cream.”
“The little league is having a celebration on Thursday because gameday is on Wednesday and the coach said win or lose, they’re going to celebrate no matter what.” He folded up the receipt and slipped it into his wallet. “My cousin begged me to order ice cream from here.”
If the two of you didn’t start texting, maybe you two wouldn’t be making jokes and having easy conversations at the moment. Taehyung had such a lovely personality hidden beneath his bad boy persona and it bothered you that he didn’t act this way in school. Would Seo Joon not want to be his friend anymore? Because that’s what high school was--a hotspot for teenagers to do whatever they could to fit in and find friends. Thankfully Jisoo’s eldest sister gave the two of you a talk about being never turning yourself into someone you’re not just to make people like you.
If only Taehyung got the same talk.
“Hey, the summer night festival is next week friday, are you going?” He asked you softly.
The summer night festival was a one night community shindig that was held the last friday before all the kids went back to school on the Monday of the following week. It had been a tradition for as long as you could remember and your family never missed the event.
“I totally forgot about that, but yeah I am. I go every year with my parents.”
Taehyung nodded his head and fidgeted with his hands. “Well, if your parents don’t mind, could I steal you at some point during the festival?”
Like a date?
The words in your head made you stop breathing for a few seconds and you were hoping your cheeks weren’t reflecting how hot they were feeling.
“I--uh--” Taehyung chuckled at the flustered look you had on your face. “Yeah. I’m pretty sure they won’t mind you stealing me, but they would probably mind if you didn’t say hello.”
“I promise I’ll say hi to your parents.” Taehyung stood up and tucked his hair back underneath his hat. “I’ll see you then.”
Out of nowhere, Taehyung slid his hand against the counter and curled his fingers around your own. He gave you a light squeeze and proceeded to walk out of the parlour.
You tried your hardest to suppress your smile at the simple touch of his fingers. It wasn’t just the touch of his fingers that sparked your smile. It could easily be a text message, seeing him enter the ice cream parlour, or sharing eye contact with you. He made you laugh easily with stories he tells and even his laugh alone was contagious. You had difficulty in controlling the butterflies inside of you every time you saw him, but granted, you were doing a fairly good job at doing so.
It was terrifying and as much as you didn’t want to admit it, you liked Taehyung. You really did.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
“Thanks for bringing me along, mom and dad. I wish my parents didn’t have to finish late tonight.” Jisoo had her arm linked around yours as the four of you trotted down the pavement into the town.
“Of course, sweetheart. Just don’t forget to bring your dad some of the grilled corn this time.” Your father reached out to gently tug on a lock of Jisoo’s hair.
You had already told Jisoo about meeting with Taehyung so she wouldn’t think you’re going to ditch her out of nowhere. She, without a doubt, understood and made you promise to call her if anything went wrong. You were expecting that kind of response. It was Jisoo.
The festival had already begun. Children were walking around with their parents holding sticks of cotton candy and a balloon animal in the other. Teenagers were swarming around some of the games to win large stuffed animals for their significant others and there was also a dunking booth that the teachers from the different high school were running. The intoxicating smell of food filled the air and you could already taste the chocolate funnel cake in your mouth. After promising your parents that you would link up with them soon, Jisoo dragged you to the deep fried twinkies booth.
For the next two hours, time was spent with Jisoo eating and trying to not spend a lot of money on games you had zero skills in. Jisoo walked back to the bench you two were sitting on with two cups of iced sweet tea.
“Did Taehyung call you yet?” She asked excitedly.
“Not yet--why are you so excited about this?” You laughed and snatched your drink away from her.
“Because this is exciting! You don’t agree? But anyway, he’s probably not even here yet. I saw Seo Joon and his boys when I was in line, but I didn’t see Taehyung with them.”
On an impulse, a sigh escaped your mouth. Thankfully, Taehyung didn’t stand you up or at least you hope he didn’t.
“Did Seo Joon see you?” You asked.
“No, thank you god. I haven’t heard from him in a while so I guess I owe Taehyung one--speaking of the devil.” Jisoo pointed towards your phone that had Taehyung’s name displayed across the screen. She nudged you to answer and you hated how nervous you were feeling.
“H-Hello?”
“Hey, y/n. Sorry, I couldn’t leave my house until my dad got home. Where are you?”
You looked around the crowd to see if you could find him before he found you. “I’m sitting with Jisoo near the sweet tea and peach cobbler booths. I’m wearing a red shirt.”
“Red shirt...peach cobbler… I can’t see--oh, there!”
You whipped your head around and Jisoo did the same. Taehyung flailed around in his white graphic t-shirt and scurried along with sidewalk with his phone still pressed to his ear.
“Hi, hey, Jisoo.” Taehyung greeted while taking deep breaths.
“Hi, Taehyung.” Jisoo returned the greeting and stood up. “Before I go and link up with your parents y/n--thanks Tae for whatever you did to get Seo Joon off my back. It has made my summer a lot more relaxing.”
Taehyung cocked his head and smiled. “I, uh, I don’t really know what I did either, but you’re welcome. Maybe he just got tired of chasing? But whatever happened, it’s good to know that he’s out of your hair.”
They exchanged a few more words and you smiled at the both of them. It was comforting to know that Jisoo was able to get along with Taehyung at the moment. You remembered when you first encountered Taehyung in close proximity, Jisoo was barely communicating with Taehyung and when she did speak to him, she spoke to him in a cold manner. Now, Jisoo was laughing and making direct eye contact with the same guy.
“Geez, y/n.” Jisoo squished your cheeks together. “If I have something on my face, just say it.”
“You seriously have a bad habit in staring.” Taehyung added in.
“She does, doesn’t she?”
“Okay, okay. Don’t gang up on me.” You playfully swatted Jisoo’s hands away and jabbed a finger at each of their legs. “But, we’ll accompany you to wherever my parents are. Taehyung is going to say hi to them.”
After a few calls, your mom finally picked up and directed you three to some sort of game booth where your dad was struggling to win at least one game. Your parents exchanged greetings as soon as your dad landed a win. They briefly spoke, asking if Taehyung’s parents were around the festival too and if he had eaten.
“My parents weren’t able to come tonight and not yet, sir. I was going to buy something for y/n and I.” Taehyung was obviously still nervous around your parents, especially your dad, but it was only natural.
“Well, you two have fun. I’ll call you if we decide to leave early and don’t forget that Jisoo is here too.” Your mom squeezed Taehyung’s shoulder and Jisoo pushed you to stand next to him.
“Okay mom and yes, I won’t forget about Jisoo.” You waved goodbye with a rapid beating heart. This wasn’t your first time spending alone time with Taehyung, but this was the first time you were going to be alone with him knowing that you admitted to yourself that you like him.
Everything was going to be fine as long as you acted normal around him. This meant no stuttering and no over-selling your normality. But could you really pull this off?
“You alright?” Taehyung poked your side, making you flinch.
“Y-Yeah. I’m all good.” You answered fairly quickly.
Of course, you couldn’t pull this off.
“By the way, are you sure you just want breadsticks? The pizza here is top notch.” Taehyung swept your behavior under the rug which you were grateful for.
“Yeah, Jisoo and I ate a little too much desserts. I swear that girl can eat desserts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”
Taehyung stepped to side to swiftly retrieve his order and you were able to catch a whiff of his cologne or body wash or something; it was an earthy citrusy scent that tickled your nose. After returning to you, he helped guide you through the crowd with a careful hand on your lower back making sure not to lose amongst the sea of people.
“If only the ice cream parlour was open. I could go for a milkshake.” He commented.
“Yeah, we closed early because of the festival, sorry.” You looked around the area. “They have rainbow lemonade? That sounds interesting, I mean, it’s no milkshake but still.”
You offered to make the purchase for the both of you but Taehyung constantly pushed you to let him pay for the drinks. Ultimately, he took the win for that.
The festival was still at its peak, so there were still large amounts of crowds which made it difficult to canvass the nearby spots for a bench. The park lights were still on, so Taehyung made the executive decision to park yourselves there to eat. It wasn’t as hot as most nights which made sitting at one of the picnic tables under a lampost more enjoyable.
The garlic and basil breadsticks Taehyung ordered for you were scrumptious and he even let you have the first bite of his pizza  to show you what you were missing out on. He told you about how he meant to be at the festival earlier, but his mom was still at work and his dad wanted him to wait for him so someone could be at home to watch their dog.
“Aw, you have a dog?” Your eyes lit up and you clasped your hands together.
“Yeah, our neighbor’s dog gave birth recently so he’s still a puppy.” Taehyung showed you his lock screen to present an adorable ball of fluff with the largest grin on its face. “His name is Yeontan.”
You squealed and stole his phone out of his hands. “He is the cutest! I’d give him the world if I could.”
“I wanted to bring him out for you to meet him, but we have yet to finish up his shots.” He explained, smiling at you.
“Maybe next time?”
“Yeah. Of course.” He took his phone back and stared at his lockscreen for a few seconds. “Or you could come over some time? Just so Tannie doesn’t have to leave my house.”
“I’d…” You started. “I’d love that.”
Going over to Taehyung’s house would mean that there was a chance you would meet his parents. It made you wonder if Taehyung talked about you just like how you talked about him around your family. You thought you were a genuinely good person and you haven’t done anything to hurt Taehyung at some point for him to say anything that could tarnish his parent’s first impression about you.
It wouldn’t hurt to ask, right?
“By any chance, does your parents know about me?” You cautiously asked.
Taehyung smiled bashfully and nodded his head. “My mom was pleased to know that you’re a reader and you were the one who helped me get patched up that one time. Thanks again, y/n.”
“It’s no problem. I’m pretty sure your mom would’ve had a meltdown if you went home without any bandages whatsoever.” You laughed, thinking about the times Taehyung would shake his head yet speak about his mom endearingly.
“That’s definitely true.” He agreed. “My parents are dying to meet you though, so maybe on your next day off or when you finish early, you could stop by.”
“It’s a date.”
Both of your eyes widened and you choked on your saliva realizing there was no way you could save yourself from that one. The words came out automatically and you were already used to saying it towards Jisoo and your other girlfriends, but with your feelings towards Taehyung, this time was different. You couldn’t help but think that you screwed everything up at that moment because you couldn’t distinguish the look Taehyung had on his face. You couldn’t tell if he was embarrassed or disgusted.
“Y-Yeah,” Taehyung mumbled, trying to hide his face behind his hand. “It’s--It’s a date.”
It felt as if your heart was about to beat right out of your chest. You tried to justify everything by telling yourself that he was jokingly agreeing with you, but on the inside, you were praying that he meant it the same way you did.
A brief moment of awkward silence washed on shore and it almost sealed the deal in making you think that you really did screw up big time. Taehyung cut the silence in half by clearing his throat and then scooting closer to you.
“You know, y/n,” Taehyung gulped loudly and planted his elbow on top of the table, resting his cheek on his palm to look at you. “I never imagined myself spending the summer reading and constantly visiting the ice cream parlour.”
“I never expected to be working at all this summer. My mom was the mastermind behind my employment.” You chuckled and rolled your eyes.
“Well, I’m glad she encouraged you to work.” Taehyung held his gaze with you. “I got to meet you.”
How could Taehyung look at you the way he was at the moment and say I got to meet you. Your face was probably beet red and you couldn’t control your smile at that point. There was a lot you wanted to say to him like I love hanging out with you and something corny like we should go thank my mom then. But you stared at him, with your words stuck in your throat and a stupid smile plastered on your face.
“I spent a lot of money on ice cream, but it was worth it.” Taehyung continued with his words, making your heart rate spiral out of control.
“You’ve become a loyal customer.” You joked, making a deep sound of laughter bubble from his throat.
“Yeah, yeah I have.” He said in between laughs. “You’re to blame though.”
“I haven’t done anything.”
“No , no, you did a lot, y/n. Trust me.”
“And what exactly have I done, Taehyung?” You asked with a mischievous tone of voice.
Taehyung moved a couple of inches closer to you and you remained still. “First of all, you patched up my wounds. You introduced me to a new flavour of ice cream, you let me borrow your books which blossomed a new interest of mine.” You listened intently as Taehyung’s eyes grew softer. “You made me smile and laugh until my stomach hurt. You also understood my weird family dynamics. I feel less lonely and a lot happier nowadays and you’re to blame, y/n.”
Each word that fell from Taehyung’s lips turned you closer and closer into mush. You were denying the obvious which was mutual feelings because your worlds were similar yet different. There was no way someone like Taehyung could ever feel an ounce of anything towards you. This was usual assumption until you got to know him personally and see what kind of boy he really was. However, naturally, you were still in denial.
“You do know what I’m saying, right?” Taehyung asked and you just slightly parted your lips, scared to say what your heart was pushing you to say. “I’m saying… I like you, y/n. I really like you.”
The oxygen inside of you became trapped inside of your chest. Out of all the things Taehyung could have said, you would would choose for him to say those words again and again. Your hands felt clammy and the rapid sound of your heartbeat was deafening in your ears.
“I just ruined things, didn’t I?” Taehyung snapped you back into reality and you noticed that he scooted a few inches away from you.
You frantically shook your head thinking that your silence ruined things. “No, Taehyung. S-Sorry, I’m just surprised that’s all.”
He nodded and blew out a shaky breath. Judging by the look on his face, Taehyung seemed as nervous as you were and you knew what you had to do to ease the tension.
“I...like you too, Taehyung.” You replied softly.
Taehyung raised his eyebrows. He then poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue, exerting a breath of air. “R-Really? Are you sure?”
You laughed and lightly shoved his shoulder. “Yes, I’m sure you dummy. I’m awkward around a lot of people, especially boys, but not with you.” It was Taehyung’s turn to listen with his undivided attention. “I’ve been thinking a lot about you lately a-and you don’t even know how excited I get when I see you walk through the doors of the parlour or when you text me. My parents like you, it seems like Jisoo is becoming quite fond of you, and it’s so scary because  I don’t even think I’m your type so I hope you understand why I’m so shocked. I’m too quiet, I talk to myself sometimes--”
“Y/n.” Taehyung blurted your name out with a chuckle. “Just breathe for a second, okay? I don’t have a type. I don’t care if you talk to yourself or if you think you’re too quiet or whatever else you were going to say. I like you and that’s that.”
Taehyung cautiously cupped the back of your hand with his and looked at you as if you painted the stars in the sky with your own two hands. It was an odd feeling to have him look at you the way he did and yet, it was a reassuring feeling to know that he felt the same as you did.
The stars you apparently painted with your own hands were aligned perfectly. You twisted your hand around to have his palm up against yours until he eventually laced his fingers in between yours. Taehyung giggled softly as he gently caressed the back of your hand with his thumb.
Out of all the events that happened throughout the entirety of summer, this was easily one of your favorites.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
“Oh my god! So, how cute is his dog?” Jisoo squealed.
“Ten out of ten such a good doggo and soooo adorable!” You showcased the photos you took on your phone. There was a large section of your gallery of Yeontan in multiple angles, some were blurry from him moving around too much,  and some had you and Taehyung in the photos. Jisoo gushed over the cutest little ball of sunshine and constantly made remarks about how lucky you were to have met Taehyung’s dog.
“You’re so lucky, y/n. Taehyung is sane and has the cutest dog son in the world. I wish my parents allowed me to have a pet other than a fish.” Jisoo said as she pulled into a parking stall at school. “Remind me to get a new parking pass after school.”
You two arrived at school forty-five minutes before the first tardy bell would ring and this was for the sake of student parking. With a lot of the current seniors taking their driver’s test over the summer, it was most likely the parking lot was going to fill up rather quickly.
Before heading onto campus, you both just sat in Jisoo’s car listening to music and chatting about how exciting senior year was going to be for the both of you. Senior year meant college campus tours, college fairs, senior getaway and prom. Not only was there going to be a lot of stress involved, you made a promise to yourself to not be as stressed as you were during junior year.
“I can’t believe we’re seniors, y/n.” Jisoo sighed. “And if you’re going to senior prom with Taehyung who the hell am I going to take couple pictures with?!”
“Whoa, whoa, stop right there, Kim Jisoo. I think you’re getting way ahead of yourself.” You patted her hand.
Jisoo laughed and rolled her eyes. “Okay, whatever, but the boy likes you. Before you know it, he’s going to ask you to be his girlfriend in the most cheesiest way possible!”
The idea of Taehyung doing that was adorable yet embarrassing and plus, Taehyung knew that you didn’t like show-offy events like it; the thought of it made you feel uncomfortable.
“You’re crazy.” You laughed. “But I don’t want to get my hopes up, Jisoo. It’s a new school year. It’s possible for Taehyung to meet somebody new in his classes and I can’t force him to just stick with him.”
Jisoo squinted her eyes at you and folded her arms across her chest. “God, I hate it when you’re right.” She reached for her backpack and turned off her car engine. “Well, enjoy what you have now, y/n and let me enjoy teasing you about Taehyung.”
She stuck her hand out and you laughed while shaking it. “Deal.”
Throughout the whole morning, Taehyung only texted you a good morning message and you were thinking he probably fell back asleep right after. You asked him if he had eaten breakfast yet in your reply and by the time you left your house, he still didn’t respond. Honestly, you wanted to ask him if he wanted to meet someone on school grounds, but it felt like it was too much of a gesture; maybe it was all in your head--the feeling of it being too much.
You stuck with Jisoo for majority of the time. She planned on taking you around the bleachers where Seo Joon and his crew hang out during lunch, but a lot of the new clubs were having welcome booths and the literary club was calling your names.
“Come on, y/n!” Jisoo gently tugged on your hand, heading towards the football field and bleachers.
It was ten minutes after the final bell rang and you told Jisoo about Taehyung only texting you once throughout the day and she found it suspicious. She continued to nag you to check if he was on campus, but you wanted to just leave it alone. It was probably your gut talking to you and as much as you knew you had to trust your gut feeling, you didn’t want to listen.
“Jisoo, I don’t know, I don’t…” Your voice trailed off and you stared at the tips of your shoes.
“Y/n.” Jisoo squeezed your hand and stared deep into your concerned eyes. “You know you have to. And because I love you, I’m going to go with you.”
At this point, you didn’t realize that your body was gravitating towards the football with Jisoo still holding tightly onto your hand. You didn’t want to look up from your feet and when you did, all oxygen inside of you became trapped inside of your lungs.
Taehyung was sitting with the cluster of his friends at the bleachers, laughing and he even quickly checked his phone. There was a possibility that he was too caught up in catching up with his friends to text you another time or maybe he thought he replied to you but didn’t--it has happened a few times and he apologized when it happened. You were hoping for Jisoo to not say anything to get his attention, but Seo Joon called out before you could even tug her back towards the campus.
“Oh, hey, Jisoo.”
All at the same time, the group of friends turned towards you two and instantly, Taehyung’s eyes met yours. Jisoo continued to walk towards the bleachers not letting any of their stares bother her.
“We’re not here for you, Joon.” Jisoo snapped harshly at him and then stared down Taehyung. “Really, Taehyung?”
“Jisoo, stop.” You whispered.
All of Taehyung’s friends panned their heads from you and Jisoo to Taehyung. There was a look of panic on his face and already said everything that you needed to know. You wanted to run but your feet felt as if it was stapled to the ground. The air that was trapped inside of you was now released with one single blow.
“You’re friends with them?” Seo Joon questioned and first looked at Jisoo then back at you with a raised eyebrow.
You watched as Taehyung’s facial expression change from panic to sadness within seconds. “I--I don’t--” He stammered and slowly shrugged his shoulders.
Jisoo squeezed your hand tighter and she pointed an angry finger towards Taehyung. “Kim Taehyung, you fucking--”
“Jisoo, let’s go, please.” You interrupted Jisoo and hung your head down. You didn’t want to be there. You didn’t want to look at Taehyung. You just wanted to leave.
It took a lot for Jisoo to not cuss out Taehyung, you knew that. Instead, she complied with your request and took the lead in guiding you out of the football field and back to the parking lot. She didn’t say one more word and never let go of your hand the whole way there.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
“THAT PIECE OF SHIT!” Jisoo threw her bag onto the concrete of your driveway. “Was he seriously going to stand there and look at you like you were a stranger?! Some fucking nerve he has!”
You sat on top of the hood of Jisoo’s car with your knees hugged to your chest. Thankfully, your parents were both still at work which meant you had the whole house to yourself, but you couldn’t bring yourself to walk inside.
“Maybe we’re taking this the wrong way, Jisoo.” You mumbled.  It was dumb to justify the look on Taehyung’s face.
“I’m sorry, y/n. But that’s bullshit. You know that I know what Taehyung’s face looked like.” Jisoo raked her hand through her hair. “He obviously didn’t tell his friends about you and I hate that I know why.”
There was a stinging sensation in your eyes and you blinked it away. You also had a feeling why he wouldn’t tell his friends. It was your worst nightmare and it was all coming true. You buried your face between your knees and your chest, wanting to disappear.
“Hey, hey, not another step! Go away!”
You poked your head up and found Taehyung stuck dead in his tracks with Jisoo walking to stand by your side.
“Jisoo, just let me explain--”
“I don’t think so, Taehyung. We get it. She gets it.” It was sweet of Jisoo to stand up for you, but honestly, you wanted to hear it from Taehyung himself.
“It’s okay, Jisoo. I’ll be fine.” You whispered whilst climbing down from her car.
She changed her glances between you and Taehyung before sighing. “Okay. I’ll be in your room then,” She held her hand out and you planted your house keys onto her palm. “I won’t be nosy, I promise.”
After giving Taehyung a deadly gaze, Jisoo scooped up both of your backpacks and disappeared inside of your house.
Taehyung walked towards you with hesitation weighing in every step. The hurt in your eyes was obvious and it made looking at you hurt even more because he knew he was the reason for it.
“Y/n...I can explain…” Taehyung began taking deep breaths. “I didn’t tell them...about you…”
There were tears filling up your eyes and you tried to blink them away, but one single tear managed to trickle down your cheek.
“I didn’t tell them anything b-because…” Taehyung’s words fell like stones, dropping slower and slower. Your chest began to tighten and your cheeks started to flare up.
“Because you were embarrassed?! Is that why?” Your words shocked you just as much as it did for Taehyung but it was the reason that was blaring inside of your head the most and you had to put it out there. “I read books, I’m quiet, I’m obviously not the type of girl who would be seen with you.”
Taehyung let out a breath of air and tried to reach for your hand but you pulled away. “That’s not...that’s not the reason, y/n.”
You clenched your jaw and wiped the tears from your eyes. “Look me in the eyes and tell me, with confidence, that that’s not the reason why you didn’t tell them.”
He tilted his head back and combed his fingers through his hair. “Seo Joon mentioned once that he didn’t know how you and Jisoo became friends because you seemed different from her and--”
“And you didn’t want to tell him because you were afraid if you told him, he would make fun of you and tell you that you probably deserved better. Got it, Taehyung.”
“Y/n...Seo Joon is a fucking dick, okay? And he wouldn’t have let me live if he found out that I was involved with someone that he--he thought--” Taehyung watched as your tears resurfaced and he took in a sharp breath. “Y/n, I like you. You don’t know how much I fucking like you, isn’t that enough?”
There was a moment of silence before you answered. “You’ve been in my house and you met my parents. I know your little cousin and his friends, I met your parents and your puppy. Why is Seo Joon’s opinion so important to you, Taehyung?”
He grit his teeth and sighed. “I don’t know, y/n. But I’m so fucking sorry.”
“Me too.”
You wiped whatever tears were stained on your face then turned your heel to walk away. He called out your names and each time he called for you, tears welled and you covered your mouth to stifle your sobs. From your driveway to your front door, you never once looked back.
Was it wrong to think you didn’t deserve this? Every girl deserves someone who wasn’t afraid to be with them and this included you.
It almost didn’t occur to you that you arrived in your room until Jisoo said your name. You dragged your feet to your bed and slumped your body down against the mattress.
“It would...It would’ve been too embarrassing…” You sniffled. “...too embarrassing if Seo Joon knew…”
“Y/n, I’m so sorry.” Jisoo immediately joined and curled up next to you, letting you bury your face into her shoulder to cry it all out. She stroked your hair, listening to you wail and question this had to happen to you.
Even with Jisoo in your room, you had never felt so alone.
↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠↠
Instead of quitting after summer, you decided to keep the job at the ice cream parlour because of the relationships you gained with your coworkers. Plus, when Jisoo told you that “more money meant more books,” it stuck with you.
The week stretched out a lot longer than you would’ve liked and as much as you wanted to relax on a Saturday, you were scheduled to work the afternoon shift. Even after sleeping in for a bit, you were feeling a bit groggy because your exhaustion caught up with you, but talking to Mrs. Song was making all exhaustion dissipate.
“School is just a mere distraction, deary. Marry a millionaire and you’ll be fine.” Mrs. Song instructed and her caregiver laughed and reminded her that you were still young and that you still had a lot to do in your life.
“Well, you do that, but don’t forget to marry a good man--have I told you about my late husband, sweetie?” Her caregiver smiled and winked at you.
“No, Mrs. Song. I’d love to know about him.” You smiled back at her and listened with your undivided attention. No matter how much times you’ve heard the stories, you would never get tired hearing how romantic her husband was with her. Even while you took care of other customers, she still talked about her life with him and you listened and asked questions so she knew that you were listening.
“So, he wasn’t a millionaire, Mrs. Song?--thank you, have a good day.” You handed a customer his change.
“Not at all, dear. But our time together was priceless.”
The entrance door opened and in came the last person you wanted to see, although it couldn’t be helped. When Taehyung walked in, his cousin and his friends came running in through the doors first and he followed with his hands in his pockets.
Mrs. Song greeted him as you tended to the kids with a smile. The last time you spoke to Taehyung was on Monday. He tried to reach out to you, but you didn’t bother to return any of his calls or texts. He only ever contacted you through phone and never at school which gave you the idea that he didn’t tell his friends anything.
You wanted to disappear into the back room, but you were already assisting his cousin and his friends.
“Hi, y/n.” Taehyung greeted quietly.
You gave the last cup of ice cream to one of the kids who then ran over to Mrs. Song.
“Hi.” It was instinct the way you grabbed a fourth cup to fill it up with chestnut praline ice cream. How were you supposed to enjoy this flavour when it now gave you bittersweet memories of summer?
“Y/n, I know you’re mad at me and you don’t have to say anything, but at least just listen to me.” Taehyung followed you from the other side of the counter as you walked from the ice cream casing to the register. “I let my pride get in the way because I didn’t tell my friends about you. It’s always been that way with Seo Joon and it’s so fucking annoying how I can’t put my foot down when it comes to him. Saying that makes me sound like I’m his bitch and I guess I am.”
You plucked the ten dollar bill out of his hand and listened, just as he instructed.
“I haven’t told him...yet…which is stupid, I know. You’re important to me and I haven’t been feeling like myself lately all because we haven’t been talking at all. It’s killing me, y/n.” Taehyung spoke as softly as possible, just enough for only you to hear. “I still really like you and I swear I’ll tell Seo Joon because you’re right, his opinion shouldn’t matter.”
You took the change out of the register and you didn’t even realize it, but you blinked away tears that surfaced at your water line. Words were getting caught up within your throat, threatening to burst out all at once. But now wasn’t the right time.
You laid his change out on the palm of your hand and as Taehyung took his change, his finger lingered to trace the lines that veined throughout your palm. He hung his head and failed to hide the sound of him sniffling.
“I admit my mistake and I’m just so sorry, y/n. I hope for you to forgive me one day.” Taehyung crumpled up his change inside of his receipt and stuffed it into his pocket. “Have a good day.”
“You too, Taehyung.” Your words were barely audible, but he still heard you.
With a blank expression, Taehyung gathered up his pack of children and made sure to give Mrs. Song the most cheerful smile he could muster up.
Not even a couple of feet away from Mrs. Song, Taehyung’s cousin asked Taehyung to retie his shoe laces because they were beginning to become undone. You walked over to Mrs. Song who was gently folding her napkin to wipe the corners of her mouth.
“You know, dear,” she began. “How about you try your chances with that young man who came in with his little friends? He seems like a nice boy.”
There was no point in explaining everything to Mrs. Song, so you just hummed and smiled at her. “He is, Mrs. Song.”
Without looking up from the counter, you could see Taehyung stand back up and you could feel his eyes burning towards you.
“How about it then, deary? I’ll introduce you two.” Mrs. Song suggested with confidence.
It difficult to hold back your tears in front of the ever-so-innocent Mrs. Song, but you had to grit your teeth and bear it.
“It’s okay, ma’am. I don’t think he’s interested in me.” You said sadly.
As much as you didn’t want to look at him, you finally lifted your chin to make eye contact with the regretful stare of Taehyung’s eyes. The intense contact was broken by his cousin, shaking Taehyung’s hand and telling him that they wanted to go to the park already.
As he turned his back to you, you physically felt the pain in the atmosphere. Who knows, maybe you were taking it to heart much harder than it needed to be. But if there was one thing that you knew for sure, it was that you were incredibly hurt about the fact that Taehyung had to hide your existence. He stared into your eyes as if he had no idea who you knew were.
You were furious, betrayed, and, with the lack of a better word, so fucking hurt by what happened. Being who you were, you also knew that there was no way you could stay mad at Taehyung forever. There was a sliver of hope for you to forgive him, but now wasn’t the time.
Taehyung was more than an entire summer of memories. He was an unexpected occurrence, like rain in a drought. He was your first text in the morning and your last text before going to bed. He became the reason for you to be excited to head to work, hoping for him to show up.
But the rain will stop falling, texts don’t get sent, work becomes a chore, and eventually, seasons end.

under the same sky (2)
pairing: sebastian stan x reader
warnings: author doesn’t know what she’s talking about half of the time
word count: 3,098
a/n:  look isdfk what im talking about so just bear with me??? and this is my first fanfic that im putting out there so pls any constructive criticisms would be nice thank u.
m a s t e r l i s t
Sebastian was falling and he was falling fast.
Every single day that he spent with Y/N he can’t help but admire the way her voice sounds like in his ear or the way her eyes sparkle every time she talked about the things she’s passionate about. They had a routine, Y/N will always show up at his doorstep and he will always go to her house in order to tutor her in her academics. In return, every weekends she trains him how to defend himself which he is very thankful for. She never liked the idea of Sebastian punching someone else but she figured that she wouldn’t always be around to protect him so he had to learn how to protect himself.
The times they spend without working on academics or training how to fight are very precious for them. They would explore the town, swim in the lake, go to the local cinema to watch some boring ass movie that she somehow always sleeps at the middle of but it was perfect. It had been their routine for seven months now. And they wouldn’t have it any other way.
But then a rumour about her leaving spread like wildfire in their high school. But it was the first time he had heard about it. Maybe because he never really paid any attention to what other people say. Only what she said, she was the only one that mattered.
One unfortunate day that Y/N didn’t attend class everyone pestered Sebastian for answers. If she leaves people won’t have someone to protect them anymore. That’s the only reason other people cared. And he was mad. Frustrated. He didn’t talk to anyone that day. There was no way the Y/N would leave right? He wanted answers, and he was determined to get them. No matter how much it scared him.
He rode his bike straight to their house after their class. Her mother opened the door and greeted Sebastian, before he could ask where Y/N is he noticed the packed boxes in the living room. “Y-You guys are leaving?” Y/N’s mother looked at him sadly “Oh, Y/N didn’t tell you?” No. No. No. This can’t be happening. She won’t leave me. She won’t leave me. She won’t—-
“Hey Sebby. What are you doing here?” Y/N asked when she walked down the stairs. She wore his shirt and her hair was tied up in a bun. Like she always do. “Are you going to leave?” She stopped in her tracks. Oh no, that’s not a good sign.
“I’ll leave you two to talk.” Her mother said and kissed Y/N on the head before she left and went to the backyard to bathe the dogs.
“Sebby—“
“Please don’t leave me. You can stay with us. We’ll take care of you.” She walked up to him and held his hand. He was shaking. How could he be so pathetic. Asking her to choose him instead of her family. That’s just a shitty move. “Seb. Look at me.” But he didn’t look up. He doesn’t want to look at her face because if she leaves he’s going to start trying to memorize every inch of her face and he can’t do that. He might forget. He doesn’t want to forget. Not her. Oh God please not her.
She placed her hand on his tear stained cheek and made him look up at her. She was smiling. She was laughing. How could she laugh at a time like this. Is his love really that one sided? “Sebby, I’m not going anywhere.” He hasn't even confessed his feelings for her an now she’s leaving? “Wait. What? But the boxes—“ “Are my parents’ stuff. They’re gonna be leaving for a few months maybe a year. My mom will go with my dad and I’ll stay here with Shaun.” She’s staying?
“Are you sure?” She nodded. “Yeah, we already agreed to that when we moved back here. It would be the last school I transfer to. I’m in high school now and it’ll look ugly in my college application if I switched schools alot now wont it?”
“Yes.” he nodded, “Yes it would. Oh god I thought you’re going to leave me” He hugged her so tight she almost couldn’t breathe. “Why weren’t you at school though?” She groaned and told him that her dysmenorrhea is killing her. “Do you want chocolates and ice creams?” She nodded. “Alright, wait for me. I’ll go get you some. We can watch your favorite movies and I’ll heat up the water for a hot compress.”
“You’re the greatest, Sebby.”
“No, you are.”
You’re the greatest thing that ever happened to me.
“So acting is it for you huh?” she asked while they were on a lake for their camping trip of the month. He nodded. “Applied to an art school. You were the one who convinced me to do it, and you think I’m good at that so I’ll give it a try.” She laughed, Sebastian has changed so much from the first time she saw him. Back then he was this kid that needed protecting but right now he can pretty much handle himself. He had starred in different theatrical production after she had convinced him to do so since he had a gift for the arts and it would be a shame to let it go to waste. “I’m proud of you, Sebby.” She said and laid her head on his shoulder. “Well, as for me i’m planning to take psychology and criminology at the same time then head straight to military.” His heart sank. He didn’t want her to go to the military. It was his worst fear. It was a very dangerous world out there and he doesn’t want her to face it alone. “Can I really not change your mind about military? You can die there you know?” She smiled and took a deep breath, “Worried Sebby had always been my second favorite, but you know I’ve always wanted to be in the military. I don’t want to stay here and just sleep on my bed knowing full well that I haven’t been useful in our country. After my service, its the FBI for me either that or I’ll open a small coffee shop somewhere and settle down.” “Who’s the first favorite— You know I’ll always worry about you, Y/N. I l—“ But he stopped himself. “Will I still meet you?”
She looked at him and winked “That’s a secret.” he nudged her in the shoulder and they both laughed “And of course you will Sebby. I’ll always write to you. And I will visit you when I can. Alright?” “And I will visit you when I can. Promise me you’ll text. Alright?” “Sebby, we still have graduation and prom. My god. I almost forgot about prom. I heard that Bethany asked you out?” Sebby looked away and said“Yeah she did.”
Y/N took a sharp intake of breath as if she had trouble breathing, “What did you say?”
“I said yes.” And there was the pain in her chest. “Well how about you? I heard you’re going with Luke?” She laughed, hard. Almost as if she was faking it but if she was Sebby didn’t notice. He fails to notice the little things about her. “Yeah, Luke asked me out but I said no. I told him I had someone I wanted to ask but then I found out he was going with someone else. So I’m just gonna go solo.”
Sebastian felt as if he had just been stabbed. She was going to ask someone. “You don’t want to know who I’m going to ask?” he shook his head. “I know that there are somethings that you like to keep to yourself and I think that this is one of them” Idiot. She pulled her lips into a tight smile and just nodded along. “Do you want to have dinner? It’s the last camping trip in this place.”
“Hey,” he told her as he helped her stand up “You said it yourself. We still have graduation. We still have time.”
But there’s still the inevitable goodbye.
Almost all of the teacher chaperone were disappointed when they saw that Sebastian and Y/N didn’t go to prom together. Sebastian was wearing a blue tuxedo which made him look like a movie star. Bethany didn’t waste any time dancing to the party music that the DJ was playing, while Sebastian excused himself to try and look for Y/N.
“I’m already here.” she said over the phone “I just got here actually.”
“Where are you?”
“Are you wearing the blue tuxedo we chose?”
“Yes. I can’t see you.”
“Turn around dumdum.”
Before him was still the most beautiful thing that he ever laid his eyes on. She was wearing a blue dress that’s almost the same shade as his tuxedo. It was a  long gown with lace for sleeves, hugging her body to show off her curves. She curled her hair that made her look like a mermaid. “You look amazing.” He managed to breathe out. She blushed at his words but managed to regain her composure “You look nice too. Did you like my dress?” He nodded and said “We’re wearing the same shade.”
She shook her head, “This is not the shade of your tuxedo. Its the shade of your eyes.” Then she flashed him a smile. The smile that gave him the first time they met. The smile he fell in love with. The smile he’s still falling for.
Before he could say something, the DJ finally played a slow song. Sebastian stepped back and bowed “May I have this dance?” She told him that he should be dancing with Bethany but he disagreed. “My first dance will be with my best girl.” She laughed “Huh, must be a wonderful person for you to save your first dance to.” And they both laughed as they danced both in sync to the music playing in the speakers. Yes you are.
A lot of pictures were taken on their graduation day. Both Y/N’s parents decided to come home and celebrate. Y/N’s face lit up like a Christmas tree when Dean decided to show up. He wasn’t supposed to go back home that week but he said that this was far more important than any war that’s been happening. Dean may be loyal to his country but he was loyal to his family first. Sebastian knew how much Dean meant to her, she talked about him whenever she can. I miss him, she says. But he knew better, she talked about him because she didn’t want to forget him.
“So right, I saw him behind the Gym getting beat up by these guys so I stepped in and that’s the start of our friendship.” she told everyone and laughed, they were having a small dinner at Y/N’s house the Stan household was with them, their families had been friends for so long that they trusted one another.
“So, what are your plans after this?” Dean asked Y/N. She stopped cutting her steak and looked at him, “Planning to take up psychology and criminology at the same time then afterwards probably serve in the military then its the FBI for me.” Everyone looked at her, was this news to them? She never told her family? “If you guys are planning to stop me, you know that you won’t be able to. I’ve made up my mind. Even Sebastian persuaded me to not push through and it didn’t work. We all know how persuasive he is.” Sebastian smiled, “ If that doesn’t work its a small coffee shop for her” Y/N laughed, “Aww, you remembered”
“So I’ve been meaning to ask” Dean decided to start, Oh no. Sebastian’s heart was beating so fast he feels as if he’s about to get a heart attack.  “Are you guys together?” Both of them choked on their drinks. There it is. “No we’re not.” Sebastian answered and looked at Y/N “Just really good friends.” Y/N smiled and laughed. But didn’t speak another word after that. After dinner, Dean offered to take the Stans home in his car. Y/N hugged Sebastian before he left. “I’ll see you tomorrow?” She nodded and bid goodbye.
A few years down the road, their friendship still held strong. They moved in together since it would be cheaper and therefore more cost effective. Dean was against it at first but Y/N got him to agree, they grew up together and Sebastian knows that there are million ways that Y/N could kill him. Some nights they would stay up all night watching movies, eating pizza and just relaxing like they used to do. Sometimes they would built forts in the living room just to experience the camping trips they used to have when they were in their high school. But Y/N was in her last year of military training while Sebastian was starting to act in the big screen when the news came out. “I’m leaving for Afghanistan in two weeks.” They both dreaded the time that it would happen. They didn’t want to be apart from each other but they didn’t have any choice. But Sebastian still wanted to try to get her to stay. “But your training won’t be finished for at least two months. We still have two months.” Y/N sat down and looked at him. “I know but a representative picked me. Based on my grades and recommendation of my mentors they said that I would be the best choice.” “Y/N—. You’re a girl! They can’t ask you to lead a war. This is ridiculous. Are you going? Did you tell your family?” Sebastian was furious. Why would they choose her. Why would they want to take her away from him. “War has no gender, Sebby. And well I’m pretty sure my brother would tell them once he knew.” “Jesus christ. Y/N, this is too soon.” “Sebastian. Please, let me do this.”  he looked away, tears running down his cheeks.  “Sebby, look at me. I can’t do this without your support. Please.”
“How can I support your suicide mission, Y/N?” he shook his head.
Y/N moved closer to where he was sitting, reached out to touch his cheek, “Look at me, Seb.” She wiped his tear stricken face “Seb, I can handle my parents not supporting me, or my brother but not you. You’re the only one I’m holding on to right now. I can’t--”
“You’re breaking my heart, Y/N.”
“Seb. I’m scared. I’m so fucking scared to do this. But I can’t back out. I can’t. This is the only thing I’ve ever known in my whole life. I’ve trained my whole life for this. Its my choice then, and I’m still going to choose it now. ”
For the first time, she was crying. When she dropped her hand that was resting on his cheek he pulled her in and hugged her tight. He didn’t know how long they stayed that way. Minutes? Hours? But time didn’t matter that night. Only them.
They did everything that they could possibly do in that two weeks.
Sebastian surprised Y/N the morning after she broke the news of her deployment. He decided that he wanted to celebrate all of the holidays that they won’t get to spend together. Christmas. New Year. Thanksgiving. Halloween. Everything.
Then they decided to write a letter for each other so that they’d have something to read during those days. So that even though they’re miles apart they could still feel like they’re together.
But that night it was quiet. There were no celebrations. No pictures. Just the two of them inside the apartment. It was quiet. Too quiet.
“You’re leaving tomorrow.” he muttered when they were having dinner. Y/N ordered pizza and put on some 20’s chick-flick on the tv. “I can’t...I’m going to miss you. Terribly.”
“I’m going to miss you too.” Y/N assured him. Because she was going to miss him. He knew that, he was her friend of course she would. But the kind of miss that he was talking about wasn’t the way she would miss him. He won’t miss her like that. She means too much. He’s been torn between confessing his feelings for her or not. Because either way, she’ll always leave. And what’s worse is that she could not like him back. So he decided to not do it. Next time.
“What time are you going to leave?”
“I’m gonna leave at 5 am, I have to be at the airport by 8.” She took another bite of the pizza and laughed at what the character in the film said.
“Can I go with you? To the airport.”
“Please don’t.” she muttered. Sebastian looked at her, his eyes glassy from the tears threatening to escape. “I don’t..I don’t think I’ll be able to go if you’re there.”
He understood. He doesn’t think he can let her go if he went with her at the airport.
“I’m gonna throw these out. Go take a rest.” Sebastian told her when the movie finished. She nodded weakly and went to her room.
It’s funny how they weren’t able to hear each other’s cries in that little apartment.
Before Sebastian closed his door he heard Y/N’s open up. She was standing there in his t-shirt that was way too big for her and his boxers that somehow ended up in her laundry.
“Can I sleep with you tonight?” her cheeks heated up when she asked the question. “Of course.” Sebastian answered without missing a beat.
That night, both of them just stared at the ceiling. Sebastian wondered if it was Y/N’s heartbeat that was beating so loudly. Or maybe that was his. When Y/N turned her back on Sebastian, she muttered the tiniest goodnight. Too soft for Sebastian to hear.
Sebastian on the other hand turned to look at her. Contemplating if it was too much to pull her close and hug her. If that would be okay.
But the moment Y/N choked out the words ‘I’m scared’ Sebastian enveloped his arms around her. As she cried on his chest, he held her tight. As if he didn’t want to let go. As if he could shield her from the horrors that she would be facing in Afghanistan.

MENTIONS OF DRUG USE
Y/N POV:
I dug under my bed looking for my little box I found it opening it up WHAT! its empty! it only filled this up like yesterday so I rush out into my flat
“LILLY? did you by any chance borrow some of my stash?” I ask her very annoyed
“what? Oh yeah me and luke had a little to make brownies for the party” she explains
“Ugh! buy your dam own”  I yell grabbing my jacket and my purse leaving the flat going down the stairs calling up ace “hey ace, look lilly stole my stuff again where are you?” I ask him
“sorry Y/n fresh out, not got anymore coming in for a week” he explains
“really? fine, anyone else who might have some?” i ask
“well go see thomas he had a shit tone yesterday when i saw him” he tells me
“cheers” I sigh hanging up and rushing back up the stairs all the way to the top floor of the block of flats and knocking on thomas’ door but nothing “THOMAS! OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR I KNOW YOUR THERE” I yell
“Bugger off Y/n” he yells back
“Open the door thomas” I sigh
“why? what do you want?” he asks
“just to chat” I lie
“fuck off y/n i’m not got any” he sighs as I heard him unlock the door so I quickly go inside locking the door behind me
“Bull shit thomas, ace said he saw you had a tone yesterday” I sigh going into his living room where he now sat on the sofa
“I did, I sold Jack some“ he sighs
“no jack doesn’t smoke anymore, plus you dont sell I know you” I sigh
“I did I sold jack some said he was seeing some girl and wanted some, I made the rest into cookies” He explains
“then can I have a cookie” I ask
“I ate them” he laughs
“you made cookies out your whole stash and then ate all off them?” I ask
“yep” he sighs
“you’d be off your head if you had dont lie to me” I sigh sitting on his sofa with him “Please thomas, Lilly and her boyfriend stole all mine, then make it into brownies which I can assume as I know what she’s like they had one then threw the rest away” I sigh
“then thats your problem” he sighs so I just moved slightly and kicked his coffee table making everything fall out the little secret compartment
“you fucking liar” I laugh trying to grab it but he got there first
“fine I have some, but your not having any” he tells me
“why not?” I ask
“get your own” he tells me
“I did then Lilly stole it, Please thomas just one, please” I beg “Im desperate” I beg
“Ugh…fine, money on the table I’ll roll you one” he says beging to roll
“Ohhh…uhhh I dont have any money” I tell him
“then none for you” he laughs
“Oh thomas come on, I dont get paid till next week, Lilly short me on her half of the rent and I had to pay to get my car fixed” I complain
“fine, you owe me it then the day you get paid” he sighs
“I can’t, I’ve got more rent to pay, and food shopping to do, and I need new clothes…”I begin
“well then you cant have it, how many times have we been though this y/n you cant pay me you dont get any” he sighs
“Oh thomas come on share you frigid bastard!” I yell trying to grab it
“fine, we can share it, but you still owe me” he sighs lighting it up having a smoke off it and collapsing against his sofa blowing the smoke into the air and handing it to me
“how much?” i ask
“about thirty quid” He sighs
“fine, eventually” i sigh smoking it and laying back on the sofa too handing it back to him as I blew out the smoke
“I wont let you forget about it” he laughs “Like last time” he smirked
“Oh shut up that was once” I laugh as he handed it back to me “and it was years ago” I laugh
“I know” he smirks at me….
“Come on one more” i giggle bouncing up and down in thomas’ car we had gone out partying I wasn’t even sure what the day was I think it’s Wednesday? maybe?  dont know, the car was sat up the back of a 24 hour Morrisons car park
“y/n we’ve had four already” he laughs at me “you want another one, we have to open mine” he laughs
“then do it” I giggle lightly hitting him
“but then you owe me y/n” he smirked at me
“What I gave you shares on my stash” I sigh
“so what I charge you bloody know that” he laughs at me “you want shares or not?” he asked
“fine” I sigh getting my purse as he rolled but my purse was empty all I had was a Mc-Donalds voucher as he finished rolling “you roll like shit” I laugh
“fuck you, I roll better then you” he laughs “come on cash on the dashboard” he smirks
“I’m skint, I have free food though” I say putting the voucher on the dashboard
“fuck yeah I am hungry, okay fine, you still owe me twenty though” he laughs “I’ll pay for food when we finish this” he smirks
“TWENTY!” I yell
“shhh! yeah this shit is premium grade” he smirks
“you know ace just puts it in a different bag it’s no different” I laugh
“it is, its better, no money that means no smoke for you” he laughs clearing the excises on his car away and bag in the little bag
“come on thomas please “I beg
“y/n you’ve had four I have no sympathy for ya” he laughs
“but I’m not high enough tommy, I wanna touch the stars” I giggle resting my head on his shoulder
“then find a way to pay me” he laughs “SHIT!” he quietly yells hiding everything we had away as a police officer just pulled in not to far away from us “we are fucked…” he sighs
“why…it’s not like the car smells of it” i giggle
“yeah but your off your fucking face! and your not hiding it well” he says as we saw the police officer get out his car leaning on the door so I quickly moved my head from his shoulder resting my head on his thigh slightly moving my head every now and again “what are you doing?” he asks
“pretending to suck you off” I giggle
“why?” he asks still keeping and eye on the police officer
“thomas we are sat in a store car park at 3 am there is only two reasons as far as he thinks a boy and girl in a car would be here, A to get high, B to have car sex and as you clearly dont want him to think we are doing A because…well we are, might as well make him think we are here for B” I explain
“how are so so high and still so smart?” he asks
“tolerance thomas” I laugh “at least play a fucking long” I sigh
“right sorry” he laughs as I move my head more pretending I’m sucking him off and I can tells he’s pretending I am too not doing to bad actually I could tell he was imagining a lot as his cock grew in his jeans and I couldn’t help but smirk at him “he’s gone” he sighs in refile but I didn’t move I just giggle undoing his jeans “what are you doing?” he asks in panic
“all that gave me an idea” I giggle sitting up and kissing his neck a little “how far would I have to get you to clear my debts?” I giggle
“depends how good you are” he smirked so I giggle  getting his cock out his pants taking all of him in my mouth and sucking hard “Uhhh Fuck! yeah yeah your good” he groans his head rolling back against the seat as I continued him moaning and screaming like crazy until he came and I swallowed licking him clean and putting his now soft cock back in his pants and smirking as I sat back up and he got the smoke back out and lit it up smoking some off it and handing it to me
“thanks thomas” I smirk leaning back in my seat having a smoke of it and handing it back to him “come on hurry Up…I’m hungry too, I want nuggets” I giggle “and you can buy me a drink because my mouth tastes like you now” i sigh
“deal” he laughs handing it back to me…
“was I the only one you ever did that for?” he asks as I hand it back to him
“yeah why?” I ask
“just curious, if you went around sucking off every guy for shares” he smirked
“nope just you, and one girl once in college” I laugh
“really?” he laughs giving it back to me “who?” he asks
“veronica leni” I laugh smoking
“Veronica….she was queen of pay with for weed with sex” he laughs
“yep…good girl, small boobs” I laugh
“tiny boobs, she was like a minus A cup” he laughs as I give it back to him
“why did you sleep with her?” I ask
“No…I dont think I did, unless I was off my face when I did it, cause I dont remember I did” he laughs as he smokes
“you where off your whole body when i sucked you off tommy, you didn’t forget that” i laugh taking it back form him and smoking a little more myself
“yeah well, you dont tend to forget the day a police officer shows up when your high, and similarity you don tend to forget the day you best mate sucks your dick in your car” he laughs
“thomas?” i ask
“yeah?” he asks
“is sucking your dick still a method of payment you accept?” I ask
“I would count dick sucking among the payment options…for you” he smirks
“for me?” I smirk
“yeah, well clearly, when Dylan owes me he does not have that option neither does Jack” he laughs
“what about other girls?” I ask
“not many girls come to me wanting any” he laughs “only you, sometimes Lilly and sometimes Issy” he explains
“do Lilly and issy have that payment option” I giggle
“nope, Lilly doesn’t because…she kinda creeps me out when she’s sober she came around yesterday asking for some, and Issy doesn’t visit often mostly just to show off her new boyfriend anyway” he sighs
“aww poor tommy” I giggle giving him a cuddle as he finishes off the smoke and puts it out “question?” I ask
“go on?” he laughs
“if sucking you off settles my debts? would letting you fuck me mean you owe me some?” I smirk
“I think so why?” he asks so I smirk sitting on his lap and kissing him hard “Okay okay…lets get to bed then” he smirks lifting me up with him and carrying me to his bedroom with us still kissing….
I laid in thomas’ bed both of us naked under the bed sheet both of us smoking “Pleasure doing business with you thomas” I smirk as I smoke
“like wise darling” he smirks back at me “same time next week?” he smirks turning to face me
“yep” I smirk giving him a little kiss but he held my face deepening our kiss till I pull away getting up and getting my clothes on “see ya” I smile giving him another kiss grabbing my smoke and going off back to my flat
“where were you?” Lilly asked
“somewhere” I smirk
“I can smell it on you where did you get more? ace is sold out, and your skint” she asks
“as your being so dam nosy thomas let me share his okay” I laugh
“thomas doesn’t let anyone share, he makes everyone pay how did you…” she then looks me up and down I can tell she sees the hickey’s on my neck and the very obvious smell of sex on my clothes “YOU SLEPT WITH HIM DIDN’T YOU!” she yells
“why do you care?” I ask
“cause I need to know these things, you get caught it comes back to the house and to me you know” she yells
“Your just mad you didn’t think off it” I sigh “your just mad If I smoke with him you cant steal it!” I yell
“Ohh fuck off, the only reason you went up there was to try and get a smoke off him” she yells
“so! he knows that! I know that whats the problem?” I ask
“the fact your fucking him for drugs” she yells
“like you dont do that with luke” I sigh
“No I love luke” she says back
“yeah and I…Uh…I dont know how I feel about thomas all I know is he has weed and a fucking good cock so you know what fuck it I’m having both” I smirk grabbing my stuff out my room going out the flat going down the the take away at the bottom of the flats and getting a tone off food and going all the way up knocking on thomas’ door
“knowone home” he yells
“It’s me you idiot let me in” i laugh and he opens the door a bit confused still half naked
“has it already been a week?” he asked
“no it’s been a hour thomas” I laugh
“Ohh….okay?” he says back
“I kinda lost it at Lilly, can I stay with you?” I ask
“and how would you be paying for rent, water, heat exceptera for you staying here?” he asks
“I brought take out” I smile
“okay, thats maybe one hour” he laughs
“Uhh I will uhhhh….do your laundry?” I ofer
“your at 24 hours” he shurgs
“when I get paid I’ll go half with you on a bag of premium” I offer
“thats about four days” he shrugs
“Uhh you can fuck me as much as you want? and I’ll suck you off as much as you want?” I offer
“so what like a girlfriend?” he asks and I smirk and nod “your up to the foreseeable future” he laughs “come on” he smirks opening the door more for me
