So, L falling in love. Putting this under a read-more because my stupid ass is going to ramble.

I think he would usually fall in love with people who are relatively capable. I have no idea how to describe this more. You wouldn't have to be some genius, just be able to operate independently because the man is no caregiver. Also, I think you'd have to make an impression of some sort on him, otherwise he probably wouldn't even pay enough attention to get to know you. A big trait L would like to see in someone is understanding. You're gonna have to be able to at least tolerate his attitude and more bizarre mannerisms if you intend on becoming a permanent fixture in his life. Even more than that, he would want someone who would be able to understand just what kind of person he is: how he's not exactly pure, how he would rather do things if they interest him instead of doing them out of the goodness of his heart, the things he's willing to do to get the results he wants. You don't need to agree with him on everything, he probably would like it more if you didn't. You can't change him, but it gives him more to think about when he weighs his decisions.

So! L falling in love. I did touch on this in a previous post, but I'll paste what I said here:

L will know as soon as his feelings appear. Depending on what he's doing at the time, this discovery could be anywhere between a mental footnote and an outright statement directed towards you. He's become fond of you, far beyond a passing fancy or a momentary infatuation. He'll be requesting your input on whatever he's been working on, or making sure Watari knows to bring extra sweets when you're present. If you're really lucky, he might just feed them to you.

I think it's something he would figure out super quickly and then just. Sit on until he's pretty sure you feel the same. He doesn't want to have to confess just to find that you don't share his affection. 10/10 you can just expect a "I've fallen for you" from him and have no idea how genuine it is because it wouldn't be unusual for him to say things like that to get a reaction. You would have to pay attention to how he interacts with you and matters regarding you to know just how true his statement was. (To a point, I think he'd kinda be lowkey obsessed with you. Like, he's not gonna be thinking about you all the time or think about you over the case he's currently working on, but there's definitely something there.)

Things you can expect from L when the two of you are an item:

Don't be surprised if he encourages you to pick up some kind of defensive martial arts. He knows several, so it's really not a shocker. The man's really thinking you need to learn how to beat the shit out of someone so it's one less thing he has to worry about now that he's let you in.

Luxury. Absolute Luxury. L's funds are near bottomless as far as you should be concerned. You have his heart but he's not always the most emotionally available, so you have his wallet. If you're travelling with him, he's actively making sure you get the best. Watari probably would've picked up on your tastes and knows to accommodate them if he wants the detective's best work. An extra slice of cake meant for you? Sure. A whole floor of the headquarters building just for you? Take two.

Vulnerability! Holy shit, vulnerability. It's something that's so rare for him to show. He's almost always working like, five steps ahead of everything else, why would he need to be vulnerable? I think I can count the times he's canonically showed his cards on one hand and most of them were in the episode where he fuckin' dies(showing some regret over the deaths of the FBI agents, the interaction he has with Watari in the monitoring room where the older man asks him what's wrong or w/e, the rooftop scene, the foot thing, and then him dying.) He's more willing to show the cracks in his façade to you, and that in itself is super powerful evidence about how you make him feel.

I absolutely think he would have some kind of system set up to look after you if something happened to him. They had the dead man's switch to let Roger know if L died so whatever successor would know to take over without letting the world know the original L was gone, but that seems more like something Watari would've insisted on. A place to live, expendable funds, hell there's probably options for a new identity in there somewhere if that's what you'd want.

His phone pings and Max checks his messages to find a link from David. He reads the headline and scoffs louder this time.

“I see one of these at least once a month,” Max informs as he pours honey into his cereal. 

“You’ve been busy, I see,” David hums from the other end. 

“Jealous I’m getting more action than you?” Max asks with a grin. 

He can literally feel David’s eye-rolling all the way across the Pacific Ocean. “Your parents don’t mind?”

“I don’t think so,” Max shrugs as he gets settled on the couch and turns down the volume of the TV. “My dad probably has a big meeting coming up. The press is just trying to stir drama so they can distract people from real issues. You know, sometimes the White House releases our own rumours when we need to distract people. Last term when everyone was criticizing my dad's decision about the whole North Korea thing, the White House released a rumour that I'm joining the army.”

“Does it bother you?” David asks him. “That both sides are using you like that?”

“No,” Max replies after giving it some thought. No one’s ever asked him that before. “If it’s not me, then it’s Rafael. I’d rather it be me.”

David is quiet for a moment. 

Max clears his throat. “If it wasn’t clear, I like the attention.”

“Yes, that has been abundantly clear,” David chuckles. “Still, news like this can’t be good for your anxiety.”

Right. Max forgot he kind of blabbered about that to the other man. He really needs to stop bearing out his soul in the middle of the night. Practice some goddamn self-control! 

Thankfully, David signed the NDA. So, it’s not like he’s gonna tell anyone else about it. 

“My anxiety is fine,” Max reassures, more confidently than he’d like. "Shit like this doesn't faze me at all."

“So, you’re not worried that you’ve gotten some pool girl pregnant?” David asks curiously.

“I can’t get anyone pregnant, actually,” Max says before he can help himself. So much for self-control. “It’s, uh, it’s a medical thing.”

David is quiet again. 

Max checks the phone to see if the call is still connected. 

He wonders if David’s confused or if he’s just looking for the right response. It’s usually the second thing with David. He’s always so careful with his words. Maybe Max should get some lessons from him. 

“I’m sorry to hear that, Max,” David says gently and eventually.

“Meh, my babies were gonna be too hot to handle anyway,” Max says with a mouthful of cereal so his voice doesn’t sound weird and wobbly. “How about you, your majesty? Everything working alright down there?”

David coughs at that. “Yes. It’s all fine.”

“I bet it is,” Max snickers. “You probably have a dozen fucking doctors hovering over your junk to make sure all the family jewels are intact.”

“You vocabulary, as always, is a wonder to behold.”

“Am I wrong though?”

“Not exactly,” David replies after a moment. “Producing an heir is part of the job description after all.”

its kinda hard to say how looh was supposed to end because i kinda write smaus on the go without indepth storylines lol (i.e. basically i bullshit on the go and fake it til i make it)

fair warning also that ive forgotten almost all of looh by this point... i used to have a notebook with my ideas for the smau but i lost it during my last move so this is what i can remember. apologies if there are inconsistencies but i genuinely dont remember LMAOOO its been (8)4 years...

i can give you an idea of how i was thinking of ending looh... under the cut for the sake of people who dont give af lol

i do know for a fact that i planned jimin and y/n to be endgame. it was going to be a long process of "will they or wont they" because of jimins underlying insecurities and y/n's inability to introspect would always be a hindrance in their relationship

i know i framed y/n as like a "really good person" but she really isnt perfect. i was gonna lay more groundwork to "expose" her for some of the fucked up shit she did in the past (i forgor 💀) and i was planning on exploring her internalized "holier than thou" complex

that was gonna be the second main conflict after the whole jimin vs tae conflict... kinda like a season 2 lol

BUT BACK TO SEASON 1... tae vs jimin lol so yeah tae releases that slander video on jimin and he runs away... y/n is supposed to have a big altercation with jin and make him release a statement proving jimin's innocence... jin ofc says no and y/n + jimin (+kook on the side) have to figure out a way to improve jimin's public image

my initial idea was that he tries to pivot towards becoming a professional dancer and joining hoseok's crew... i was planning on introducing a new character (likely seungkwan haha gotta keep with the seventeen member cameos) who was gonna be like a PR manager... they'd make a youtube channel and post content about their dancers. not just their dances, but interviews, challenges, etc. just to "prove" jimin is the good guy or something.

on the side, the seungcheol/jeonghan/yoongi drama... yeah seungcheol gets dumped by y/n like an additional two times LOL and for funsies, jeonghan confesses his feelings for seungcheol to y/n (shocker) and its all very messy mwahahah (yeah they both end up sad in the end my bad). as for yoongi... OH BOY

so yeah he got rejected by y/n which RUINS his ego and he doesnt give up for a while. then he starts crushing on seungcheol (who previously had a crush on him lol) and it gets very messy but overall he gets called out on his power tripping ways and ends up alone at the end teehee (he was gonna get an epilogue scene where he goes to the club all drunk and shit and a younger guy hits on him but calls him "sir" after seeing his face properly lol)

as for jin/hoseok/namjoon... uhhh yeah 2seok dont end up strictly together... theyre both chaebols with fucked up senses of humor (they both enjoy playing with people like chess pieces) and jin gets super pissed when he finds out hoseok has been playing with HIM on the side. they have a heated argument that causes the collapse of bang ent (hoseok has more money/influence than him and essentially grabs the company off jin's hands) and BOOM friends to lovers to enemies to ???

oh and namjoon is there. uhhhh yeah he becomes jin's little puppet for a while. essentially namjoon spies on y/n for jin and breaks her trust. this further strains kook's mental state because he feels super guilty about everything. i was planning on kook being pro-joon and breaking y/n's heart, but i wasnt sure. it all depends on how i was feeling tbh LMAOOO sometimes i like making jungkook cry (all the time)

as for tae... yeah he wins LOL he's essentially the main antagonist (its not jin... surprise) but he actually succeeds in becoming a very popular pornstar. even when hoseok grabs the company, he keeps tae on their roster and tae becomes very rich. he continues trying to slander jimin but he eventually stops when hoseok forces him to stop (out of guilt? bribery? revenge? who knows lol)

umm back to jimin and y/n... yeah they get together blah blah y/n confesses first, jimin gets hurt a lot, y/n is bad at relationships (shes got bad interpersonal skills), they have a large argument where y/n accidentally dehumanizes jimin (ouch)... so many things. all that matters is that they do end up together... maybe not so happily, but they'll get there. i think.

SO YEAH THAT WAS SO MESSY idk how coherent this was... again like i said, i kinda write smaus on the go so a lot of these things arent necessarily canon. i only consider things canon when stuff gets posted, but again like u said thats probs never happening LOL but in the meantime, if u have more questions about any of the points listed above, lemme know!! i'll try my best to explain further (sobs i am so rusty at writing u dont even know) anyway blessings be upon ye!!

im thinking about how leni would want johnny and honey to dress up as barbie and ken 😭 and when johnnys in his all pink get up he notices the way honey’s looking at him and he’s like “really? all it took was wearing pink?” and you bet he’s busting out a new pink game day suit that is a total surprise to his girls

and we know that leni helps pick out his game day suit as tradition, so when it’s time to bring it out, she sitting on the bed and when he shows her, he has a finger to his lips, “we’re gonna surprise honey, okay, len?”

and even though she’s supposed to be quiet, honey here’s muffled giggles coming from their bedroom and after a while, brunette curls come bounding down the hallway, “close your eyes please, honey!”

“yes, ma’am,” she uses her palms to shield her eyes, making a noise at the sudden weight of the four year old on top of her. “why am i doing this, leni?”

“c’mon, daddy! she can’t see!” she feels leni grab her arm and another fit of giggles erupts as familiar footsteps come towards her, this time heavier than the little girl’s. leni tugs on her sleeve, “open!”

and when she does, she’s all but surprised to find johnny in a baby pink suit, so similar to the ken outfit she had gone nuts over for halloween. she stares at her fiancé and he smirks, “wipe your mouth, babe. don’t get drool on the new couch.”

Cass is definitely further up because of the times her name is used in the 600 word abandoned draft of an actual fic I mentioned previously, but other than that her being just barely below April is what I guessed. CJ being so close, though, was a surprise.

My dnd character Cerulean in this cool sweater thingy by Loupy Studio. It just gave me insane Cerulean vibes so I had to draw them in it fr💙😔

Also, I’ve never really posted about Cerulean, but there’s a first time for everything.

Cerulean is a character I’m currently playing in a dnd campaign I’m running with some of my friends. They’re an amnesiac Wild Magic Sorcerer, and I love them very much a lot. Cerulean is a Changeling, and this^ is not the form I usually draw them in, this is:

They used to take the form of a particular snow Half-Giant wizard, since this form was the only thing they remembered along with their name when they woke up alone in the woods. They hoped to find whoever that person is and understand who he was for them before their amnesia; and eventually they did find him!

Not gonna get into it too deeply, but before Cerulean lost their memories, that Snow-Giant (named Einar), actually took Cerulean and other students under his wing to try and help them with their Wild Magic surges. The thing is that a Wild Magic surge, ironically enough, is what caused Cerulean’s amnesia. And now, every time Cerulean gets a surge, they have a chance of getting a flashback or a memory.

When Cerulean found Einar, their old mentor requested they stop taking his shape. Cerulean heeded his request, and started taking on other random forms (they’re actually not random at all, but Cerulean doesn’t know that) out of respect for the wizard, as much as they’re attached to Einar’s form.

This form of a dark elf (the form above with the sweater) is the current form they’re occupying, and it has lore I’m not gonna post about yet.

A little bit about their personality, they’re a big dumbass. Like a huge dumbass, but it’s okay. They can be very determined and that leads them to sometimes make very impulsive decisions. They’re very chaotic, but they mean no harm overall. There was a time where Cerulean got a surge that accidentally killed 2 pet lizards of some guy with fucking lightning bolt, and Cerulean was so embarrassed and apologetic about it, no amount of gold they paid to the guy as compensation made Cerulean forget that.

Speaking of money, Cerulean has absolutely no regard to how gold really works in terms of worth, just one of those things they need to learn how to use again after the amnesia.

Although they’re a sorcerer, their companions often say they’d probably make a wonderful bard, and they’re a pretty neat dancer.

Cerulean, as far as they can remember (which isn’t a lot) hasn’t shown their true form to anyone. It’s a very personal thing to them.

Cerulean hates being restrained both physically and metaphorically, and they are claustrophobic.

And to finish it off, Cerulean loves everything that’s colored blue very much (shocker, isn’t it), they’re naturally drawn to the color blue for lore reasons I will probably get to in another post.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Review Chapter 8

Okay, this collection of posts will be filled with spoilers, including clips and screenshots, so if you don't wanna see things, then don't look. Some of the things I'm gonna highlight will include references to Remake and other sources to link with the overarching plot. This is a straight path playthrough with no sidequests or extra content.

Time to hit the Saucer!

The second we arrive, the girls are pulled into a short dance sequence against Andrea. After that we're introduced to Dio.

As usual, Cloud's pretty face gets him unwanted attention. Dio wants to duel. It's not a hard match, and yet I hate it so much. Cloud's proud of himself for kicking some virtual ass, and specifically looks for Tifa as he celebrates to see if she's watching. She is. He's happy.

After that the group splits after a diplomatic vote with the girls and Red going to have fun. Cloud would've gone with but when Tifa asked he had a vision of Sephiroth and she suggested he get some rest instead. He and Barret head to the ghost hotel.

We get our introduction to Cait Sith and his predictions, which kind freak Cloud out. Makes me wonder if he's superstitious.

Cloud has a nap and we get another interlude with Zack. At one point he strokes Aerith's hair and then goes downstairs to talk to Elmyra and Marlene. He then goes looking for Biggs to cheer up Marlene.

Back with the main crew and you get to take a wander around the park with whoever you have the highest affinity with. Obviously I went with Tifa and it was cute watching her and Cloud hold hands 😍

Cait Sith interrupts to let them know about a shooting. Cloud and Tifa defend Barret and state he couldn't be responsible. They volunteer to find the real culprit and Dio slaps a cuff on Cloud to stop them running away. This accessory becomes important later.

Cloud's blindsided by goons and everyone wakes up the following morning. Gus, the leader of the dust bowl, is willing to hand over the gunman if Cloud wins a chocobo race. It takes some sidequests to get Piko racing fit, but then it's off with Esther to the races!

Meanwhile, we see Elena in the desert complaining and reminding us she's only 18 🤣

Cloud wins his race. It really wasn't hard, and I say that as someone who hates chocobo racing. The others are let out of their prison cell to watch Cloud win and celebrate 🥳

After that it's an annoying trek through the desert following a frigging condor until we find Barret. Shocker, he's not the gunman who killed the people at the arena.

I'm not gonna spoil this part, but it's amazing and emotional and made me cry 😭

The combat with Barret was pretty fun and the transitions between stages were awesome!

Elena has her not vanilla ice cream, and we have to deal with a whiny Palmer in a massive mech. And this comes right off the back of a highly emotional scene. I needed a minute to get myself together 😭

After the battles are over, Dio appears and that bracelet becomes relevant. We get the buggy, Dio gives us a distraction and Barret takes charge clearing the road.

I sucked at this. I tried. I really did. This goes towards Barret's affinity for his date too, so do your best!

After we escape, it's a fast paced drive across the desert until Yuffie's motion sickness forces us to stop and get our bearings.

We have a quick stop in to find Reeve all cheerful as he doctors the wanted poster for the golden trio. Why would this make him happy? Why would he be happy in general? Well, he's teamed up with Cloud and co and finally feels like he's doing something instead of banging his head against his desk every time he tries to make Shinra do some good.

We also stop in at Rufus office for another meeting between him and Glenn, who we can see now is some apparition of Sephiroth's that'll trying to start a war. Why? Because war means death and those souls who died angry can be corrupted and used to fight the white whispers in the lifestream.

And it's back to Zack, so I'm assuming Cloud took another nap since we return to the crew the next day. He's off looking for Biggs like he promised Marlene, and we see them find each other. The interesting convo between them will be next interlude.

Barret's arc remains one of my favourites. It's everything I wanted from Rebirth and it's at this point I started getting excited to play the game. Before that I was kinda meh about it, but this chapter onwards everything is fantastic until we hit that long ass boring cut scene at the start of chapter 14.

I'm sure nearly everyone who's aware of Killian's canon info 101, knows that his one, absolute red line: never harming children. He's actually very protective of small children when around them, and has even thrown himself in front of a child, and taken a bullet to save their life - on two occasions (this was as a human). Killian was beyond horrifically abused in every imaginable way since (quite literally) the moment he was born.

(TANGENT: no this isn't for shock, unfortunately, this happens FAR TOO OFTEN in the real world and people need to stop pretending these things don't happen because you are just telling victims to shut the fuck up.)

HOWEVER.. You really think the man is asking for ID? And if someone says they're 18.. Despite even if they look younger... Yeah... He is gonna say "fair game aha". KILLIAN IS GROSS AND FUCKED UP, Don't act surprised

Killian is also not okay with racism, point blank, end of story…except when it comes to Italians. He really hates Italians. (Killian was born in Ireland and immigrated to Boston at age 20). So.. European on European racism 😭

Another one of Killian's ' absolutely the fuck not ' red lines is - well first context: Julius has OSDD and one of the 6 alters is an extremely childish, young one. Killian absolutely refuses to engage in any sort of sexual activity with Julius when that alter is fronting (nor does Killian have any sexual attraction to Julius when, despite still having an adult body, is basically a young child mentally and behaves/acts like one). Killian tends to just put movies on and cuddle him. Though, that alter doesn't front often. It only happens when Julius has a horrific flashbacks for extended periods of times, repressed memories come back, and his brain just can't handle it. (To be clear, this is an alter and not the same thing as age regression, Julius doesn't do the latter.)

Killian also is not okay with queerphobia (he will shoot you, or worse). Basically, he's against all discrimination…except for when it comes to women. He's beyond misogynistic.
