congratulations on joining the murder club anon!!!! depending on who you ask the name refers to either people who have murdered or people who have witnessed murder. usually both. actually extremely often both. it's a swell time you'll feel right at home (don't mind our collective skyglass knife collection in the back)

#im still not far into nemesis personally but im very much enjoying it #honestly in a weird way it feels like it's moving faster than HD did. which. is funny bc nemesis is like The gated behind item grinds quest #idk. HD was a fun slowburn where we adventured around gathering our rogues gallery before the action kicked in #nemesis on the other hand feels like im picking up halfway through a batman serial #fallen london #ask #it's WAY more fucked up right off the bat than HD was. honestly ive thought abt red honey for ages. that's so fucked up #and we LEAD with that?? Okay #definitely a horrors-filled ambition befitting caeru (the guy who's constantly going through horrors)#it really encourages you to get fucked up and freaky and in ur character's headspace at basically every step along the way #i only have HD to compare it too but HD was like. a lot more interpretative in comparison? at least to me. that's what it felt like #and i adore HD for that dont get me wrong here #HD just also waited until like. halfway through before it asked what the scoundrel actually Wanted out of its heart's desire #nemesis in comparison is right off the bat who died? who are you mourning? anguish. justice. there must be vengeance.#it's a delightfully different vibe!! i like it!!!#oh god sorry anon im doing the classic yin talking way too much in the tags thing again #i havent had much excuse to talk abt nemesis and what i think of it so far and of course its rp effects on caeru #but i do have a handful of thoughts on it #it's good. im liking it so far. it's starting very strong if nothing else. and i have no spoiler knowledge of what happens in the future #beyond the choice between rewards at the very end #and im SO curious how we'll get to that point. what horrors will we adventure through next? off we go to find out!#it's biggest glaring weakness so far is how horrendously grindy it is. and like. ive been warned and done my research ahead of time #im doing it on the same account im seeking. i knew what i was getting into. but also gots damn.#in comparison HD's 5-card lodgings and dreamgate feel like footnotes #anyway while im already way too deep into rambling did you know the honey trip gives you fate?? insane. why does it do that. hilarious even

how was playing hsr? was there anything that you liked in the game and the story?

ITS BEEN AMAZING AS EXPECTED!!!!!!!!! i actually havent played genshin in a while since starting it, i have no motivation to do the filler event while a perfectly good star rail is sitting there waiting to be played :')

but for mechanics, i love they have auto battle so you dont have to nessecarily sit there and invest in every little battle you gotta do....and i love that the resin (resin??) system is a lot more forgiving with a higher cap, lower cost, and allow for overflow...thats nice...i also love that the mc and starter units are very useful. im so emotionally attatched to the star rail crew so im glad they never have to leave my team !!!!

storywise im LOVING IT SO FAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i started playing it at the beginning of spring break 2 weeks ago and im almost all caught up!!! i went through belabog and penacony and now im just doing those leftover intermission main quests which im only now realizing i shouldve done before going to penacony LMAO

and of course.....danmarch....im so soft for them......and also i love sampo i cant wait to see what they do with him

#besides the star rail crew and sampo im not too attatched to anyone else #im very much a (what would happen in canon) type of player so the only units i REALLY want are himeko welt and imbibitor lunae #(and sampo)#everyone else i can go without #so this game is probably gonna be a lot better for my wallet #overall it just like it better than genshin minus the open world part #i like the story and characters...i like that you can play as bad guys while theyre still bad guys???? like blade and kafka???#cuz in genshin you always gotta redeem them somehow first before theyre playable #not here hueheuhe #also i love that they actually kill off playable characters #(spoilers from here on out)#i know were supposed to be all sad for fireflys death but honestly.......i didnt care about her too much LMAO #i was actually a little annoyed for the secret base part because her base was SO FUCKING DEEP IN ENEMY TERRITORY #i was like (damn bitch how far away is this shit??!)#that by the time we got to the emotional part i was just mad #i never liked characters where the game tries to like....force you to care about them #and its implied you have some super close relationship ESPECIALLY when you havent known them long #now if march died that would be a whole different story #but firefly??? i mean rip but i didnt really know her #im loving the penacony quest so far though #any setting where its like a place of mind tricks and gambling and spending money and sin is always so scary to me #especially the dream within a dream within a dream shit #the mind fuck aspect is always a good plot that i enjoy #i also love that theyre not afraid to upgrade units #like we have dan heng and the dragon dan heng #so characters arnt stagnent forever #everyday i hope we one day get to see a 5-star secret power march #cuz that girl has some shit going on i swear #i just did her luofu memory quest #and those fuckers in the garden of recollection............

Baizhu’s Room

(note: this was written without any leaked spoilers or lore in mind)

Genshin 3.6 finally gave us access to the back room in Bubu Pharmacy, in anticipation of Baizhu’s upcoming release and story quest. And I have to give all the praise to the designers and developers here, because this small room has some of the best environmental storytelling I’ve seen in a game in a while, with only a few simple details. Today is Baizhu’s birthday, so I wanted to talk about it a little 💚🐍🌿

Nothing in this room is neatly in its place. The chairs aren’t in position, everything on the desk is messy and strewn about, and some of the drawers are left open. There’s a pillow on the desk, as well. Baizhu is quite frail and sickly, so this all paints a picture of him constantly looking for things and working, both as a doctor and frantically on his research into immortality, without having the energy or care to keep everything neat, and probably often falling asleep at his desk out of exhaustion (hence the pillow, though admittedly it could be for Changsheng, but I kind of doubt it).

There’s medicine on the bedside tables, which is probably just as much for Baizhu as it (and all the other medicine in the room) is for his patients. The bedside chair indicates he likely sits with patients there a lot so as to be as comforting as possible, but again, it’s also likely for people like Gui and Qiqi, when Baizhu is the one in bed. The sole small washtub thing stuck in the corner behind the screen... just makes me sad. I don’t know why in particular... it just does.

All of this, combined with the lighting, and the new, unique song, creates a room that manages to feel both warm and welcoming during the day, but solemn, lonely, almost suffocating, and unbearably sad at night, completely befitting the person who practically lives here, and the two very different sides he has. I say “practically”, but we have no indication so far that Baizhu actually does live anywhere else -- with his low energy and poor health, and all those damn steps leading up to the pharmacy, I’m fully convinced now that he does live here full-time, after seeing the state of it, which is... heartbreaking. He puts on a smile for everyone around him who are relying on him to care for them (and he loves his job, he truly does!), but his tiny, cramped patient room seemingly doubles as his living space, and even though Baizhu may lie and try to hide his own suffering... this room itself does not lie, and said suffering is bleeding from every corner here. The music is elegant, gentle, comforting, and soothing, but also delicate, weak, mournful, and again unimaginably lonely...... just like Baizhu. 💔

If you haven’t been here yet in the game, I highly recommend you visit it at least once; the atmosphere is simply unmatched. I can’t wait to see what happens here in Baizhu’s story quest, and how it will wreck our hearts even more 💚💔

#saskia plays starfield #i had a lot of fun last night tbh #i started the uc questline and i was pleasantly surprised how the quests where written tbh #i had a lot of personal conversations with my companions which i loved! her background and some perk she has coming up during dialogue #i did the mantis quest which was awesome #just! yesterday was great #but today. god so many instances where i was just dissociating through them loading screens again #counting damn sheep until my protag finally managed to walk 8787m through an empty planet to reach some quest area.....#it feels like im doing work sometimes which is not good #just. there is so much where im like ''god i cant wait until there is a mod for that'' dunno man. rather would have bugs rn than that #the beginning is so slow and then it becomes good. just to be constantly disrupted by its flaws #and dont get me started how unfortunate it is that new atlantis is the central hub and first impression the player gets of the game #the blandest city i have encountered yet #there are just. a couple things where i just dont understand what toddy and co. where thinking #actually i do understand but i wish it was different. oh well #sorry about the rant if anyone is reading this lmaooooo #i just hope tomorrow will be a good starfield day again. i paid enough money for this damn game #just imagine how this game could be if it where all on one map like bethy games usually are. i cannot imagine i would rant about it

The Fallout TV show made me want to replay a Fallout game, and since it is what I have at my parents place I started to replay New Vegas on my PS3, and I forgot how game breakingly buggy this damn game is. I haven't even reached Boulder City yet and already I have three quests I will never be able to complete due to bugs - bugs I only discovered googling wtf is going on after sinking many many hours into gameplay trying to figure shit out so there is no way I am restarting basically everything to deal with the bugs. I am starting to remember why my completionist self (I was SO BAD about this back in the day) did not have fun playing this game way back when.
