If I was more of a fanfic writer I would totally write like 50 oni timeloop ai fics and Id have to fight myself so hard to not make Olivia a significant part of all of them. Just like yeah Quinn timeloop au. They and Olivia regular at the same bar actually. Don't worry abt it.
#rat rambles#oni posting#I know in the past Ive said that jackie timeloop hypotheticals make me go crazy but if I were to hypothetically write a timeloop au itd be#an ellie one for sure shes just enough both in and out of the action and also enough of a bad person that it'd bring me great joy writing#her flounder and fuck everything up and become even worse of a person and not even feel guilty abt it#also Id totally have it not even be a satisfying loop ending condition itd be like a survival style timeloop but its just so she can#survive long enough for the world to end and die there instead#now for a less frustrating a depressing main character bubbles would be a decent option but I actively want a frustrating pov#I <3 povs that you wanna beat the shit out of so bad for their consistent fuck ups but you cant say its poor writing because in every#situation they fuck up in it Is what they would do and its what they would do every time#like watching a train crash except you get to watch the things that doomed the crash to happen as they happen#but yeah I think ellie would loose it so fast shed start emailing jackie hampster gifs out of frustration#I just dont rly see her as the type of person who would even for a second find the prospect of a timeloop exciting#like jackie would be absolutely ecstatic at first if she got trapped in a time loop she'd be so happy#not even because of the typical reasons its fully scientific curiosity#shed get disappointed pretty quick tho and probably rly confused due to it contradicting other theories of hers#but yeah maybe there'd be a part of ellie that had some scientific curiosity but I think itd be in more of a oh god damnit way#like oh fucking hell this just had to be possible didn't it I don't want to deal with the ramifications of this bullshit#because in universe time loops would probably impossible or at least would have to look very different#so a timeloop au would come with having to accept that contradiction and roll with it#which Im totally fine with I think its funny to have these scientists deal with blatantly impossible events#I thrive when fucking with characters I love

𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐚'𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 | 𝐣.𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬
a/n: honestly i have no excuses for the no content. just surprise!!
summary: amara hughes says her first word
warnings: children
word count: 0.9k
birdie & jack masterlist
Tumblr media
"C'mon Ams! You can do it? Say da-da.” Jack slowed his words, opening his mouth wider to emphasize the word but I only grinned. I knew that it was close to her first word and seeing Jack so excited to witness it made my heart melt. He had just gotten back from another long roadie, finally getting a few days break and he was convinced that he was going to crack her.
There was a thought in the back of my mind that she would say it, but not when pressured to. She would say it at the most unexpected time. I sat beside them, an old rerun of Friends playing on the TV. Neither of us paid attention but rather to the girl who was eagerly trying to jump up and down on her father’s thighs as Jack’s hands rested under her arms holding her up.
“Jacky, sweetheart, you can’t force her first words out of her,” I mentioned, tapping his shoulder gently to get his attention. My husband only groaned in protest, setting her down on his lap. She stared up at him with stary eyes, blinking her blue eyes at him innocently. I small little blonde curl fell in front of her face as Jack brushed it aside.
Amara looked towards me like she was trying to give me a sign that said “Help me, Mom”. I nearly giggled at the sight, grabbing her from Jack and placing her on my hip, looking back to her father who pouted in protest. I poked her small nose, kissing it gently. “Is Daddy bothering you, sweet girl?” Her head went to a nod, my brows raising at the gesture. “Did you see that, Jacky? She just nodded!”
Jack didn’t find it as funny, crossing his arms across his chest in a pout while I just laughed. He huffed out in jealousy, “She nods to everything now. I’m starting to think that she gets that from you, little bird.” He leaned forward to poke at my thigh, while I just laughed.
“Nope, her little nods are something you would do. She picks up everything that you do, J. Meaning everything she does, she looks to you for. Just like how you just laugh at how she tosses her food on the floor? She thinks she’s funny. Don’t you, Mara?” I smiled at her gently and she nodded once again while I burst out laughing placing her on the ground near her toys and picking something up while she grabbed it and began to chew on it.
Lowen rushed into the room, pulling at his Dad’s sweatpants and begging him to play mini sticks with him. “Please, Dad. Lake won’t play with me, he says he’s tired of playing. He wants to play with Amara and I still want to play.” Jack only nodded his reply, taking his son’s hand and letting him pull him downstairs as Jack and Lake switched places. Lake replaced Jack’s spot on the couch.
There were often times that I saw many differences between the twins. Neither is much like their Dad or me but their Uncles. Lowen was much like his Uncle Quinn, competitive but quiet, and said very few things, he preferred to be out of the spotlight but bathed in compliments. Lake was more like Luke, quiet and less competitive, preferred to celebrate quietly, and didn’t know how to accept praise even though we as parents constantly gave it out. The one thing they both completely lit up about was their family, they loved talking about their little sister or their dad being in the NHL, along with their plenty of uncles playing as well.
“Jacky,” Amara’s little voice spoke up and it took me a moment before realizing that it was her. My eyes widened briefly, staring at her blankly as she blinked back at me.
I leaned down toward her, picking her up. “What was that, sweet girl?” I asked hoping that I didn’t completely make up that she said Jack’s name. I looked back at Lake who stood up at his little sister’s first word being spoken.
“Jacky!” She clapped her hands together with a smile and my jaw opened, I watched as Lake ran out of the room racing downstairs to tell Jack who would be ecstatic that she said his name.
“That’s right, sweet girl! Did you say Daddy’s name? I think you did! Jack!” My voice called out, and I swear that I could hear a crash from downstairs, the sound of someone running up the stairs in a hurry nearly stumbling in the process. Jack came bursting through the room. “She said your name J!”
“Did she really? Say it again, Ams!” Jack took her from my arms, smiling wide as he waited patiently (his version of patient) for his little girl to repeat the word.
She took a moment, opening her mouth before the word came out again. “Jacky.”
My husband paused watching her, eyes flickering between hers and mine. He took a moment, processing her words before turning his head towards me, a teasing glare on his face, “This is your fault. Maybe you should start calling me Daddy around the house.” He commented and when he listened to himself, he became confused. “It did not sound like that in my head.”
I patted his shoulder gently, “Remember when you tried to make me do that? Not happening again,” My nose scrunched up. “But hey, I think it’s better that she said your name instead of Dad, just means she can’t call anyone else Daddy.” I shrugged.
Little did we know that the little girl wouldn’t know any other word for the next three weeks, so she followed around Jack saying my nickname for him since we were younger. And never once did I think that I was going to be okay with sharing the nickname until the word came from her lips.

jackie x insecure!reader? like they just started dating and they’re making out, as one does, of course. and when jackie tries to lift up her shirt or something r just freaks out and jackie comforts her and maybe j ends up soft fucking reader? :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
did half and half with hcs and a blurb because it was easier on my brain :P
Tumblr media
jackie is Very insatiable - she really cannot go a day without a mini makeout session, let alone a kiss or the feeling of your hands on her.
she's glued to you constantly bro. always touching you, sometimes missing the little cues you give her that signal ur feeling uncomfy/insecure. but she means well :( she just likes you so much.
she wouldn't understand why you feel so insecure because she thinks you're BEAUTIFUL and so so handsome :( she'd feel horrible if she made you uncomfortable at all, might even pull away for a few days because she feels so bad. i dont think she'd know what to do because she's such a touchy person.
but you miss her simple touches >__<
she's brooding on the couch when you plop into her lap. she's wide eyed and her hands are floating over your sides, scared to touch you and u just think she's so cuteee :(
the makeout session is needy and sloppy, something far more intense than you've ever done with her before.
you freeze as jackie's hands bunch your shirt up, trying to take it off. she continues kissing you for a moment before realizing you're not kissing back. "baby?" you tug your shirt back down, scooting off her lap and fixing your hair. jackie looks to you confused, shifting on her legs and turning to you. her brows furrow before she realizes her mistake, feeling like an asshole. "oh god, i'm sorry." she apologizes, grabbing your hand and kissing it. "i just assumed-" "no, no, i want to...i just-" you cut her off, closing your eyes and sighing. that feeling is rising up in your chest, making it hard to breathe and think, and you hate it. "my brain's being funny."
Tumblr media
goddd she'd be so gentle with you :(
small, tiny kisses at first - eyes half open and looking at you for any sign of discomfort as she slowly traces her hands underneath your shirt and along your back.
giving you a couple minutes to relax after she takes off your shirt because she doesn't wanna go straight into it. kisses on your shoulder, where maybe some freckles are, and complimenting how she'd spend hours trying to kiss each individual one.
mumbling how beautiful you look right now as she lays you down on the couch and gets on your lap, her eyes so full of love and sincerity that it almost makes you sick. kissing your stomach and blowing silly raspberries until she gets you to laugh :(
giving your nipples kitten licks before she gets really into it and starts worshipping your body.
makes you hold her hands because you keep trying to hide your face in embarrassment and she's not having it.
"look at me baby, don't think about anything else. just focus on how my lips feel." you don't even know when she took your pants off, but the moment her lips touch your inner thighs has your whole body shuddering. she's giving you messy kisses, not really knowing what she's doing but her eagerness makes up for it. and it feels good. she licks a stripe up your clothed pussy, panting into your cunt as she tastes your sweet wetness. she practically rips your panties off, lazily suckling on your clit and doing a horrible from to keep herself from whining.

Luke Hughes Imagine
Tumblr media
prompt: after a date stood you up Jack and Luke come to the rescue, one more than the other
word count: 2,981
I looked down at the time on my phone for what felt like the millionth time tonight and sighed. I hadn’t been on a date in a while and let someone from work try and set me up. I was gonna give him ten more minutes and then I was leaving, which is very gracious in my opinion seeing as he is fifty minutes late. The sad look on my waiter's face and the hushed whispers from fellow customers made me want to cry. I also could see them starting to clean the tables and I knew they would be closing soon. “Excuse could I get the check for my drink please,” I try to smile but I can’t help but let a couple of tears build up in my eyes. “Oh no sweetie. You are all good,” the kind older lady smiled and placed her hand on mine.
“Oh no really you don’t have to do that. Please let me pay,” I insist pulling out my wallet to pay. She gave me the look of a scolding grandmother and I sighed nodding my head. Her face quickly shifted back into the sweet one she had before. “Thank you,” I smile standing up and watching her walk away. I grab the salt shaker off the table and place the money I was gonna use under it as her tip. They gave me a small wave and warm smiles as I walked out into dreary New Jersey weather. The rain started just as I was getting to the restaurant and had only picked up more. I stood under the canopy and scrolled down my contacts til I got to Jacky Boy 🤩🥱🫡.
The line rang and rang,” Hey Y/n. What’s up shouldn’t you be on your date?” I let out a loud sigh and tried to hold in my tears. I have known Jack for a little over a year now, I moved in down the hall from him and we made quick friends. I knew he would never judge me for crying, but I just felt so stupid crying over another to him. “Uhm yeah funny story,” I started and let out a sad laugh,” Does it count as a date if the other person didn’t show up?” I hear rustling in the background and him shushing someone. “He didn’t show,” he asks sympathy filling his voice. “Nope. I am standing outside of the restaurant crying like a loser in the rain. No text. No call. Nothing,” my voice started to break as my sentence got longer.
“What a fucking asshole,” he grumbles and I hear more movement and the sound of his keys. “Okay just stay where you are. We are on our way, okay, sit tight,” his words rushed out and I heard the faint start of his car. “Send Luke your location,” he told me. I put him on speaker and pulled up a text to the youngest Hughes. You started sharing your location with baby hughesy 🤭👶🏻🏒.”Okay, I just shared my location,” I say putting the phone back to my ear and pulling my jacket tighter around me. “Okay, we are on our way Y/n/n. Hold tight,” Jack says into the phone. We stayed on until I saw them pull up.
I put my phone in my pocket, ran out of my shelter, and jumped into the backseat of the car. “Did you eat,” Jack turns around and takes a look at me. I shake my head no and he nods passing me his phone to order something. “Jack I’m fine really,” I say trying to hand it back to him. “Seriously Y/n. We haven’t eaten yet either. So just pick out something and Luke can do ours,” he says leaving no room for argument. I couldn’t help but tear up again, this time because of how thankful I am for them.
After getting back to the apartment building, I try and walk back to mine but Jack stops me. “No ma’am. You are not going to be all sad and alone,” he ushers me into their place. As we pass the hallway mirror I cringe at how bad I look. “I have makeup wipes in my bathroom,” he offers and I smile heading that way. After finally making myself look somewhat presentable, I head out into the living room taking a seat next to Luke on the couch. He looked over and gave me a small smile. Jack walked back in with plates for the food when his phone started ringing.
I grabbed it from his hoodie pocket because his hands were full. “Who’s Andie,” I ask handing him the phone back. He blushes and silences the call. “It’s the girl he likes from downstairs,” Luke explains while he passes a plate of food to me. “Why did you ignore it,” I ask sliding down to the floor and putting my plate on the coffee table. “I have company. It would be rude,” he says in a duh tone. “Since when have I been company,” I laugh poking fun at how I was always over here.
“I’ll just text her and reschedule,” he says dismissing it and flipping through to find a movie. I snatch the remote from him and make him look at me. He finally sighs and says,” We had plans tonight, but it’s okay really.” I give him the remote back pretending to be okay with it and when his guard is down I steal his phone and jump up behind the couch. “Y/n. Give me that back,” he whines jumping up and trying to reach me. Every move he makes I counter. I unlock his phone and push on her contact. When it started ringing I had it back to him,” there you go.” He goes to yell at me but he can’t because she answers him.
When Jack stands there all frozen Luke reaches up and grabs the phone. “Hey Andie, it’s Luke. Yeah. Uh-huh. Jack was in the shower getting ready for tonight when you called the first time. I know. Okay, I’ll tell him. Bye Andie,” he hangs up and puts the phone down on the table returning to his plate of food. “Well,” Jack looks at Luke waiting to hear the message. “Sorry, I was starving and had to eat a bite first. She said she’ll be up in like thirty minutes so you guys can go,” the younger brother says nonchalantly. Jack looked over to me where I had finally returned to my original spot on the floor. “I don’t have to go tonight. I can stay here with you. I don’t wanna leave you alone,” he says.
“What the hell am I? Chopped liver,” Luke asks raising his arms. Jack rolls his eyes at him and looks back at me. “I’ll be fine J. I have Lukey here with me. Plus with you gone we can finally watch that movie you complain about every time we go to put in on,” I say smiling up at him. He lets out a sound of agreement and puts his hand down to high-five me. “Okay if you are sure,” he says going to get ready. Luke starts up the movie and lets the title screenplay until Jack leaves. “Okay well, I guess I’ll see you guys later. Call me if you need anything okay,” he says leaning down and kissing the top of my head. “Will do. Now go. I love you,” I yell as he walks towards the door opening it to see Andie.” Just let me grab my keys okay,” he says letting her walk in.
“Hey Andie,” Luke waves still eating. “Hi, Luke,” she smiles walking into the living room. “You must be Y/n. The guys have told me tons about you,” she smiles at me. “Knowing these two I’d be scared to find out what they said,” I laugh. “All good things trust me. I can’t wait to get to know you better,” she says. “Me too. I have so many good Jack stories,” I laugh looking at him. “Yeah probably not,” he says ushering her towards the door. “I’ll call you,” she yells. Luke and I laugh and he starts the movie while we both finish eating. After finishing we take both of our plates to the kitchen and I plop down on the couch.
“Well make yourself comfortable Y/n/n,” he teased picking up my legs and putting them on his lap when he sat down. “I will thank you,” I nudge him with my foot. We stayed that way all throughout the movie. “I don’t know why J complains about this. I loved it,” I say sitting up. “Yeah and he calls me the baby,” he jokes. “They don’t actually see you as a baby,” I say standing up and stretching. “I don’t know,” he shrugs jokingly. “Well, I don’t see you as a baby,” I say heading towards the door. “I’ll be right back. I’m gonna go grab some clothes and get out of this dress.” I hear him stand up and I turn around. “You can borrow something of mine, well ours if you don’t wanna go all the way back. And Jack would kill me if you weren’t here when he got back,” he rambles off.
I start laughing and shaking my head. “Luke breathe. You can grab me something,” I say grabbing his arm and squeezing it as I walk past him. He stands there a second and then almost sprints to his room. I can’t help but smile at how sweet he was being. Luke has always been really nice to me ever since I met him. Jack and Quinn tease him all the time about having a crush on me. He always just rolls his eyes but his cheek flushes and the tips of his ears turn pink. “Okay, here you go. I got a shirt, sweatpants, and a sweatshirt just in case you are cold,” he smiles passing the clothes my way. “Thanks, Hughesy,” I head back to change and his room is closer so I just stop in there, Also the idea of Jack’s bedroom does kinda scare me.
I quickly change and as I go to leave a picture on his dresser stops me. Putting my dress down on his bed, I walk over and pick up the picture. It was of him, Jack, and I after his first New Jersey game. I had met him a handful of times when he came up with Ellen and Jim for games. I smiled at it and put it back where it was. I had no idea that picture even existed. I walked back into the living room and put my folded dress on the countertop. The second Luke sees me he laughs. “Stop laughing at me, you jerk,” I smile at him and hit his chest. “I’m not laughing at you. It’s just how many times have those sweatpants been rolled up,” he looks down at the folded-over sweatpants. “It’s not my fault you are a giant,” I poke his arm.
“Okay shortstop what are we watching next,” he looks over at me with a shit-eating grin. “I hate you,” I laugh taking the remote from him,” just for that we are watching a rom-com.” I pick my favorite one and hit play. “You don’t hate me,” he says not taking his eyes off the movie. “I don’t,” I ask faking confusion. “Nope. C’mon we both know I am your favorite Hughes,” he says wiggling his eyebrows. “Sorry Lukey. That spot is reserved for Mama Hughes,” I say and laugh at the face he makes. “I meant brother dummy,” he rolls his eyes. I turn to look over at him and notice his ears have already turned a light shade of pink. “I mean look at my choices,” I laugh and he does too,” but of course, you are my favorite dummy.” I mocked him back. He leaned over and bumped me with his shoulder. I smiled but chose to ignore him.
About halfway through the movie, I started zoning out and thinking. All of the guys I had dated recently sucked. None of them treated me anywhere near as good as the guys did and I’m not even with them. I started thinking about how Luke treated me. He always notices the small things, he constantly checks on me, and he always makes sure I am comfortable. He was everything I had written on my mental checklist for a guy. So why haven’t I ever thought of him like that?
“Whatcha thinking about,” he said bumping my shoulder again. I hummed and looked over at him. It was weird how I had looked at him so many times but this was the first time I truly noticed how attractive he was. “Nothing,” I say bumping his shoulder back with a smile. We both look back to the movie and I lean over and put my head on his shoulder. I feel him stiffen for a second and then he relaxes. Somewhere between that movie and the next one I fell asleep. I felt Luke shift slightly and felt a blanket being thrown over us.
The flash of a camera wakes me up. I try and sit up but I notice Luke is resting his head on mine. “Dumbass, why didn’t you turn the flash off,” I see Andie hit Jack’s arm. “Sorry,” he smiled and we both rolled our eyes. “You two look awful comfy,” he teases. “Way better cuddle buddy than you,” I say leaning more into Luke. In his sleep, he shifts and his head falls to my shoulder. “Uh-huh. Does Y/n/n have a little crush on Lukey boy,” Jack jokes taking off his jacket and throwing it on a chair. I give him a look and just shrug my shoulders,” if I do?” He stops for a second and tries to see if I was joking, which I wasn’t. Tonight with Luke has been the most fun I have had in a long time.
“You aren’t messing with me are you,” he asks looking the most serious I had ever seen him. I can feel the heat on my face from the question and the sudden attention on me and I shake my head no. He looks at Andie and then back at Luke and me and he smiles. “No way! This is great. You can be my sister-in-law now,” he yells and Luke slowly sits up and looks around confused. Andie tries to cover her laugh but she fails terribly. My face was deep red because I hadn’t even told Luke and now Jack was screaming it to the whole state of New Jersey. “Who is your sister-in-law,” he asks voice still thick with sleep. “Oh, don’t you pretend with me, Lukey. Y/n already let it slip,” Jack walks over and gives him a fist bump.
After hearing my name Luke realized he was still laying on me and moved over some blushing. “Let what slip Jack,” he asked confused.  Jack looks over at me and his whole face drops. “You haven’t told him yet huh,” he asks quietly. “Nope,” I sigh refusing to look at anyone. “Tell me what,” Luke asks in a small nervous voice. “Well, I think Jack has said enough for the night. Goodnight guys,” Andie smiles at me and pushes Jack towards his room. “Ow,” he says after we hear a bump. “Good that’s what you get,” she laughs closing his door. “What haven’t you told me Y/n.” I finally look over at him and he has a sad face.
“Oh no it’s nothing bad Luke I swear,” I put my hand on his trying to comfort him. “Look if Jack made it weird with the whole sister-in-law shit I am sorry. I had this small crush on you and he likes to tease me,” he says shyly finally looking over at me. “Had,” I ask looking back at him. “What.” I scoot over a little closer and take a deep breath. “You said you had a small crush. Does that mean you don’t anymore,” I say hoping Jack and his teasing wasn’t off. “Yeah I had a small one when I first met you,” he said and my face dropped and I tried to scoot back,” but now I have a huge one.” I feel his hand grab mine and rub his thumb over it. “That’s good,” I smile.
He leans closer and asks,” Yeah? Why is that?” I shake my head with a smile. “Because maybe I have a crush on you,” I whisper back due to how close our faces are. His eyes flicker all around my face trying to find a sign to stop. When he didn’t he slowly leaned forward some more, our lips almost touching. “Is this okay,” he asks breath fanning all over my face. “No. I don’t think you are close enough,” I smile. “Well we can’t have that can we,” he says closing the distance between us. Kissing Luke made me feel more than I have ever felt kissing someone. “So glad that guy didn’t show up tonight,” he said referencing my flakey date earlier. I smiled and him and put my hands on his face,” What guy?” I pulled him back into me.
After a few more kisses we break apart and he moves me into his chest cuddling me. Everything was just so comfortable with Luke. “Man, I can’t believe I didn’t notice you sooner,” I say nuzzling deeper into his embrace. “Doesn’t matter, at least you noticed me now,” he says into my hair. “Who would have thought it? I always went after older guys when apparently I should have gone younger,” I laughed and he quickly joined in.

Party Queen
Natalie Scatorccio x Fem!Reader
—-
a/n: this was so fun to write but idk if i did the request justice ☹️ anyways i hope you all enjoy!!
warnings: drugs and alcohol, underage drinking and smoking, swearing, tell me if i missed anything!!
—-
“Of course I wasn’t home for curfew,” you chuckle, sending Shauna and Jackie an odd look. You were talking about the keg party you had all attended last night, and how late you had ended up leaving.
“Won’t your parents care?” Shauna scoffs.
“As long as I’m not pregnant, why the hell would Rebecca care?”
Both of them look at you, even more confused now. You sigh, bringing your knee up to your chest to tie your cleats.
“Rebecca? The housekeeper? I told you guys about her, right?” Jackie nods after a moment.
“Yeah, but… I kinda thought you were joking?”
You let out a laugh, bending over on the bench, almost crying as you double over.
“Oh, oh, my God, that is so funny,” you breathe when you calm down. “I mean, like, not to be a bitch, but come on! My dad’s off in like, Canada or something, and my mom’s at a wellness retreat in San Antonio. Rebecca is my second mom, basically.”
“Yeah…” Jackie chuckles. “Because that’s perfectly normal.”
You shrug, setting your now tied cleats onto the ground.
“Oh, that reminds me. I was thinking- team bonding at my house tonight? We can use the pool, and I think the hottub is warm, and Rebecca can order pizza for us!” you stand up, putting your hands around Jackie and Shauna’s shoulders as Coach Martinez calls you onto the field.
“Can Jeff come?” Jackie asks.
“Only if you share,” you wink, and it takes Jackie a moment, but she laughs when she realizes you’re joking.
Shauna shrugs. “I’ll come.”
“Great!” you smile, squeezing their shoulders before letting go to take a knee in front of Coach.
—-
“Hey, Taissa,” you say. There’s a pause in the scrimmage- one of the JV girls had accidentally kicked the ball over the fence, and Misty had volunteered to go get it, conveniently not knowing where the extras were.
“Hey, Y/N,” Taissa says, stretching by pulling her foot up to her back.
“Team bonding at my house tonight?” she raises one eyebrow at you. You would be lying if you said you didn’t have a reputation. “Fine. It’s a party.”
She looks you up and down. “Free booze?”
“And pizza!” you sing. “Bring your bathing suit, too.”
She bites her lip, toying with the idea. “Sure,” she says after a moment, sending you a small smile.
“What could the great Taissa Turner possibly have to say to the Party Queen?” Natalie snorts, walking over just as Misty shouts she has the ball, starting her run back over.
Taissa rolls her eyes.
“Party,” you say, drawing out the world while you fix your ponytail. “Free booze, free pizza, and my pool? What’s not to love?”
She smiles and rolls her eyes. “Sorry, Y/N, I’m just deathly allergic to mansions and the people who live in them.”
“You’re no fun,” you scoff. “I mean, what else are you gonna do tonight? Get drunk and suck someone’s dick? Why not at least do it on my dad’s dime?”
“Ha. Fuck you, Y/N.”
“Will you just come?” you groan. “It’s team bonding.”
She stares at you up and down for a moment, and you adjust your jersey, feeling weird under her stare.
“Fine,” she says after a moment.
—-
Rebecca had only shook her head and said not to cause any damage, before placing an order for a million pizzas, and you changed into bathing suit, putting on a loose white cover-up, making sure the pool was clean and the snacks and pizza were out- before you rubbed some sunscreen on yourself, put on some sunglasses, and sat in the last rays of the dying sun.
“Oh, holy shit,” someone laughs, and you hear the click of the fence gate shut. You pull your sunglasses down, looking at Taissa and Van.
“You’re here!” you smile, standing up, adjusting your sunglasses and placing an oversized beach hat on your head. Van immediately grabs a slice of pizza, looking at you, but you only make a wide motion with your hands. “The hot tubs at, like, 102, and the pool is at 84, I think,” your voice drops to a whisper, even though Rebecca is inside the guest room reading her romance book, “the beer is in the coolers.” You nod your head to the two coolers you had lined up against the wall and filled with cheap alcohol.
“Oh, thank God,” Taissa mutters, immediately walking over to it. The gate creaks open again, and slowly, everyone starts filing in.
—-
Natalie doesn’t arrive until it’s already dark, when it feels like the party is just getting started. You’ve long abandoned all your accessories, instead chatting with one of the freshman, Allie, about how she had gotten invited to prom.
“Hey, Party Queen,” Natalie mutters, looking around, and you’re already a little tipsy.
“Natalie!” you shout, not meaning to, and she laughs and cringes while you clear your throat. “I’m drunk,” you explain, and she raises her eyebrows.
“Just a bit?”
“Just a bit,” you nod, saluting like a soldier, which makes you giggle. “Oh, um, beer is-” you spin around, until you finally find the wall with the coolers. “There. And any pizza left is on the table. You were late,” you shrug.
“Oh, wow. What will I ever do without a slice of cheap pizza?”
You frown. “I love Alfredo’s pizza, though.”
“Oh, God,” she mutters, looking around the backyard. Allie has long since walked away. “This place is ridiculous, you know?”
“Ridiculously fun?” you ask, reaching out to grab her wrist, tugging her over to the lounge chairs. A girl screams as she jumps into the pool from the diving board, and Natalie grins, laughing.
“Not the word I would have used,” Natalie shrugs, and you grab her bag from her and put it on the nearest lounge chair. “What the fuck are you doing?” she asks, not making a move to grab her bag.
“Won’t you swim?” you ask, feeling slightly bad that not everyone is having fun at your party. You had a reputation to uphold, anyways. Natalie rolls her eyes, and you lift off your bathing suit cover, letting it drop to the concrete.
She looks at your boobs.
“Stoo staring at my boobs,” you grumble, slipping off your flip-flops.
“What- why would I stare at your boobs?”
“‘Cause I’m hot, duh.”
“I think the parties are getting to your brain.”
You shrug and step into the water, looking at her over your shoulder. And she’s staring at you, but she doesn’t make any move to take off your own clothes. You shrug and submerge yourself, swimming over to Jackie, Shauna, and the infamous Jeff.
—-
You climb out of the pool, pretending you don’t feel eyes on you, spotting Natalie and a glowing ember in her hand. She hasn’t even taken off her jacket, and you suppose it’s a little chilly, especially coming out of the water.
The refreshing pool did nothing to make you any less drunk, and you sit on the end of Natalie’s lounge chair, forcing her to tuck her legs up and sit to avoid getting wet.
“Jesus Christ,” she groans, letting smoke blow out of her mouth. You lean forward.
“Give me some,” you say.
She scoffs. “Why would I do that? Not even a please from the spoiled queen? Oh, God, I’m wounded.”
“Fine. You’ve smoked so much I can probably just absorb it from the air around you.”
You can see her smile, slightly forced, like it always is when it comes to you. “Why are you such a bitch? Mad that daddy’s away?”
“I’m having a pool party at my house, unsupervised, with pizza and beer. Why would I be mad?”
“Yeah, whatever,” she mumbles.
“Seriously, can I have some, though?”
“No.”
“Look at who’s the bitch now, huh?”
“You didn’t even say please, you spoiled brat.”
“Please!” you shout, a smile on your face, and Natalie laughs but finally gives in after a moment, putting the join in front of your face, and you eagerly wrap your lips around the end and breathe in the poisoned air.
You cough, smoke dripping from your mouth.
“Loser,” she mumbles, and you choose to pretend not to have heard it. She takes it back, taking her own drag, and the sounds of the girls talking and shouting and water splashing becomes the only noise.
Natalie Scatorccio has hated you from as long as you could remember. Maybe she was jealous, or maybe you had really done something to hurt her- either indirectly, or so long ago and small enough you had completely forgotten.
“Jesus,” she mutters after a moment, shuffling around, before something hits you.
“The fuck?” you ask, only to be faced with Natalie’s jacket.
“You’re shivering. It’s making me cold just looking at you.”
“Aw,” you coo, wrapping the leather jackets over your mostly-dried shoulders. “Who knew Natalie Scatorccio, infamous bitch, had a heart?”
“Who knew Y/N L/N, infamous brat, could be stupid enough to not grab a towel after she got out the pool?”
“Why do you hate me?” you ask after a moment. “Like, seriously. Did I do something super fucked up in elementary school? Because, come on, get over it.”
“I don’t hate you. You’re just annoying and spoiled.”
“So you’ve mentioned.” You turn to her, eyeing her suspiciously, and her cheeks flush, but it’s probably from the weed. “Get over it,” you say after a moment. “Not my fault my dad is like, rich, or whatever.”
She just looks away.
“Well, you’re annoying, too, you know,” you say after a moment, missing the sound of her voice.
“Oh?” she asks, but by the way she smiles- both of you know you have nothing to say.
“Whatever,” you mumble. “This is making me sad.”
You stand, stumbling a bit, throwing Natalie’s now damp jacket back onto her.
—-
By the time Jackie and Shauna have bid their goodbyes to you, everyone else is gone. You sigh, suiting on a lounge chair in the pitch black, stretching and feeling everything pop, before curling up. You think you stay like that for a few more minutes, telling yourself you’ll get up, but you never do.
The gate creaks open again, and you flip over, scared about serial killers-
“Damn,” Natalie mutters. “I just forgot my jacket. You… you good?” you sigh and wrap your arms around yourself.
You love throwing parties. You love the people and the music, the food and the drinks, the drugs, everything about it. They call you the Party Queen and you are- but mainly because you wish they would never end.
There’s this empty feeling festering inside of you, and this sickness that will never be cured. You tell yourself you’re not bothered by your parents leaving, but now, you don’t know.
Natalie takes a few steps closer, and you look up at her.
“I never like the end of parties,” you say.
“It’s freezing outside. You’re gonna catch a cold,” Natalie sighs, picking up her jacket. But maybe you’re too drunk too move. Natalie takes a sip from someone’s leftover beer. She mutters something to herself, before grabbing your hand and hauling you up to stand.
You stumble, drunk and confused, and she’s drunk too, so she barely steadies you, her hands all over you.
“Huh?” you say, and she wraps a tentative arm around your waist and guides you around the pool, and to the faint lights of your house.
“Time for bed,” she mumbles, and you look at her, before unlocking the sliding glass door and stepping inside the cool house.
“Why are you helping me?” you ask, staring at her suspiciously as you both lean on each other, tired and tipsy.
“I would feel like shit if I just let you to die out there.”
“I wasn’t gonna die,” you snort, taking a turn so you end up in front of the stairs. “It’s not cold enough for that yet. Besides, I was gonna get up.”
“You’re drunk,” she deadpans, and you look at her, almost missing a step, but the two of you quickly steady yourselves. “You can’t even get up the stairs, Y/N,” she sighs.
“Okay,” you mumble, drawing out the word, until you finally lean forward and open the door. Natalie helps you sit on the bed, before looking around your room, covered in soccer trophies and medals, pictures of various teams you had been on.
She sighs. “Goodnight, Party Queen,” she says after a moment, and turns to leave.
“How are you gonna get home?”
“Walk,” she shrugs, and you open the window near your bed, looking out at the sky through the faint streetlights. It’s dark, not only from the lack of sunlight but from some dark clouds rolling about in the sky.
“But, like, don’t you live at the trailer park? That’s, like, on the other side of town.” You gesture to the window. “I think it’s gonna rain.”
“Okay, Miss Meteorologist,” she chuckles, but you aren’t laughing. You’re tired.
“You can stay, if you want,” you yawn. “Rebecca won’t mind.”
“Goodnight,” she says again, as you stand up and start to slip off your bathing suit.
“You should stay.”
She doesn’t turn around until you do, until you’ve slipped on a t-shirt and a pair of undies.
“You should stay, Natalie. I would feel horrible if you died out there.”
She looks at you, then at the dark window.
“Fine,” she says after a moment, slipping off her jacket and her sneakers, placing them in a neat pile near your bed. “Only ‘cause I don’t wanna get rained on.”
“You’re drooling thinking about sharing a bed with me.”
It takes her a moment, but she laughs. Like, really, truly laughs in a way you haven’t heard anyone laugh in years. And after a moment, you’re laughing too, and suddenly she’s sitting on the edge of your bed next to you, the laughter dying off.
“I’m going to bed,” you announce, already dreading waking up with a hangover.
Everything you’re doing is shrouded in a thick haze, and you can’t tell which way is up or down, and you can’t turn back. Not now.
“I always thought you were a bitch. ‘Cause you were such a bitch to me,” you say, curling up on your side. She lays on her back, staring at the ceiling, staying far away from you and breathing heavily.
“You deserved it,” she says after a moment. “You always walk around like you own the world- it was my cosmic duty to knock you down a few pegs.” You giggle, and she finally turns her head to face you. She hides a hiccup into her hand. “But, uh, this house is so big and empty, you know? Now I feel bad.”
“I don’t think you’re so bad, Natalie,” you murmur, and she lets out a dry laugh.
“Maybe you aren’t either. I mean, you’re still a spoiled brat, but.”
“And you’re a trailer park loser.”
“Then you’re a desperate loser.”
“Fuck off, bitch,” you mutter into the pillow. “At least I’m not a goddamn drug addict.”
“At least I’m not a poor little lonely girl, waiting here her parents to pay attention to her.” She turns fully onto her side, and you look at her with narrowed eyes.
“At least my parents make money.”
“Shut up,” she breathes. “You don’t even know anything except spending money.”
“And you don’t know anything besides sucking dick.” The air in the room feels heavier, tangible.
“Shut up.”
“At least I have money to spend.”
But the more you talk, the more you don’t mean it. The more smiles form across both of your faces, giddy and carefree, too teenage girls basically home alone in a big mansion- but they only care about this room, this bed.
“Shut. Up.”
She’s whispering now, leaning towards you, and you’re leaning towards her, like you’re two magnets who can’t stay away.
“You shut up.”
She makes a motion that seems to be a shrug, before making the final leap forward, that final connection, and smashing her lips onto yours.
Life becomes flashes of teeth and tongues, lips and hands, until you’re pulling back for air, her hands in your hair, your lips bitten and swollen, the remnants of your lipstick smeared across her face.
She only pulls away enough so that your noses still brush against each others, and you can feel her breath against your skin, labored from kissing.
“At least I’m not a stupid Party Queen,” she gasps after a moment.
You smile. “You wish you were.”

𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔; shauna shipman x fem!reader
Summary: in which shauna believes y/n forget her birthday.
Warnings: fluff, short.
Note: English is not my first language.
Tumblr media
Shauna sighed for the second time in a row, her eyes following her go out of the same room.
"What is getting you so annoyed?" Natalie Scatorccio asks with a smirk.
"Nothing." Shauna grumbles, saving her clothes in her gym bag, putting it on her shoulder.
"I think I have an idea..." Lottie comments behind Shauna, in her locker.
Shauna turns to glare at her, seeing how the brunette doesn't bother for it and smirk, winking at Natalie when she laughs.
"You two are like kids." The Shipman girl interjects, ignoring them when they start to call for her.
"Birthday girl, wait for me!" Jackie's voice sounded muffled when Shauna went out of the changing room. However the brunette stopped a few centimeters waiting for her friend, her brown eyes scanning the empty halls. But her jaw clenched when spotted Y/N with balloons in a hand, laughing to something Jeff Sadecki told her while they walked by the parking lot. Shauna's blood boiled by this. "We can go." Shauna jumps a little when Jackie approaches next to her.
Thankfully Jackie didn't notice anything about her mood and started to rant about her birthday party that Saturday. Shauna told her a few times that she is good without celebrating it with a party, only with them is enough for her, but Jackie is excited by it and Shauna doesn't have the heart to ruin her wishes.
She dropped Jackie in her house and went to hers, biting her bottom lip the moment she saw the car parked in front of her house. Shauna parked her car in the garage, closing the door with a loud slam and doing the same when she grabbed her gym bag, her doe eyes fuming with fury.
"You are here! Your mother needed to go out, so we had the house for ourselves." Y/N comments with a cheeky smile, coming out from the kitchen.
The only answer she obtained was a huff by Shauna while she dropped her gym bag and sat down on the couch, putting a leg in the table in front of her while she crossed her arms around her chest.
Y/N frowns confused. She let the dish cloth in the kitchen and walked towards the couch, remaining next to it and studying Shauna. "Are you okay?"
Shauna rolls her eyes, giving Y/N a funny look. "I don't know, Y/N. I'm fine?" She asks rhetorically, her brown eyes now on Y/N.
"Okay... What happened?" Y/N press, knowing when Shauna is in that mood, she needed to press the brunette until she finally tell her the problem. It would cost a lot of questions by Y/N and lot of dodge by her part.
Surprisingly, this time Shauna told her what happened. "I saw you with Jeff earlier, laughing and with balloons," she explains, making emphasis with both hands, shrinking her eyes. "what the hell do you want balloons for? And it's my birthday too. Thank you for remembering it, girlfriend." Shauna scoffed, rolling her eyes and advertising them to the fireplace.
Shauna felt very hurt at this point. The day is passing, and Y/N didn't say anything about it. Everyone she knew wished her happy birthday, in some occasions with Y/N being present, but nothing.
The other girl softened her features, guilty on her eyes. She knew that Shauna would be mad at her for pretending that she didn't remember her birthday, but Y/N has an excuse for it.
"Go to your bedroom." It's all Y/N says, remaining on her spot.
Shauna looks at her with incredulous eyes. "Really? It's all you said?" Shauna muttered, but with a frustrated sigh stand up when Y/N insist. She goes upstairs, walking to her bedroom and opening the door. Her breath stuck in her lungs, not believing what she was seeing. It's... cliché? Nevertheless, she loves it. Y/N remembers her birthday after all.
"Happy birthday big baby." Y/N whispered on her ear, wrapping her arms around her waist from behind and leaning her head on her shoulder.
The balloons she saw before are in her bedroom, the number 19 showing next to it. Led lights decorate part of the wall where her bed is, and a perfectly wrapped gift with a blue dark paper reposing on the bed.
"It's not like I have in my mind... It's very tasteless, but I tried." Y/N comments, putting herself next to her and shrugging her shoulders while she scanned what she planned.
However Shauna loves it, she has the right that it's tasteless, but the details are what it counts. She turns to gaze at her with the most love written on her eyes, lacing her fingers with hers and her cheeks warm. "I love it." She murmurs, leaning towards her and kissing her cheek.
"Go to open your gift." Y/N suggest, balancing their hands softly.
Shauna walked towards her bed still with their hands intertwined and letting go only when she grabbed the gift, sitting on the bed and giving Y/N a shy smile. She carefully unwrapped it, gasping astonished when saw what it was.
"Y/N... This is amazing. I c-can't accept it." Shauna stammered, grabbing carefully the object inside of it.
"Don't be silly. I know you want it for a long time, you deserve it, Shaunie." Y/N bent down and kiss her exposed forearm, since Shauna still are on her training clothes.
"This is too much...," The brunette was so surprised that she didn't reprimand her for calling like that. "It's expensive, I can't." She stubbornly said, putting it back into the box and pushing it to Y/N.
"Shauna Shipman, I order you to accept this camera. It's a gift, take it." Y/N pushed the box to their hands again.
Shauna put the box next to her carefully, turning her gaze back to Y/N she grabbed her collar with a hand and press their lips together, for the first time that day.
"Thank you." Shauna muttered on her mouth, pushing Y/N towards hers to make her sit down on her lap, her other hand on cheek. "We can take advantage of the fact that we are alone..." The brunette gives her a chaste kiss and trailed kisses from her chin to her neck, biting her pulse point and passing her tongue later when heard Y/N hissed by it.
"I made a c-cake." Y/N breath out, her nails pounding on her shoulders.
Shauna raised her head, smashing their lips in a hungry kiss. Her tongue meets hers, making her slip a grunt. "We," kiss. "can," kiss. "eat it," a long kiss. "eat later." She pinned Y/N on her bed and putting herself between her legs, her mouth coming back to her neck and giving wet kisses there.
"S-Shauna..." Y/N calls her in vain, knowing she can't stop her. And didn't she want to stop.
•••
"SHAUNA! WE ARE IN HOME." Her mother called.
The yellowjacket pulled on the shirt she was wearing before, brushing her messy hair while she looks Y/N give her a told you look.
"COMING." Shauna said back, going to the window to ventilate her bedroom. "See you now?" She whispered when her girlfriend approached her at the door.
"Like every night." Y/N hummed, grabbing her backpack and pecking her lips, smiling when Shauna held her waist in a firm grip, but the kiss is sweet.
Shauna bit her lip when they broke the kiss, admiring Y/N and then, intertwining their hands they got out of the bedroom and stepping downstairs, letting out their hands intertwined before her mother could catch them.
"See you tomorrow, Shaunie. And happy birthday." Y/N teases her when Shauna opened the door for her. She giggled when her girlfriend gave her a pointed look. "Bye, Mrs Shipman!" She calls, waving with a hand when Shauna's mother says goodbye to her.
Shauna rolled her eyes and closed the door with a smile. She went to the kitchen to take some water before she went to take a shower. Opening the fridge, the same smile comes back to her face when she thinks about Y/N. The cake Y/N made makes her let out a quiet laugh, clearly influenced by her friend Van for the choice, however she loves it and make a mental note to take a piece of cake after dinner.

Dating Shauna in the Wilderness HC's
for the anon who req'd it. ❤️
Shauna and Jackie wouldn't even have the fight about Van because Shauna's ass wouldn't even care 💀💀.
Shauna gets out of her seat and immediately starts looking for you
She'd clutch you so tightly against her that you'd struggle to breathe. If you thought she was overprotective and possessive before you should see her in the wilderness.
sitting on Shauna's lap with your head buried in her neck when you're upset about being out there. Shauna just holding you quietly and rubbing circles against your back.
Mari gets a little catty with you on account of you guys literally starving and you've got to hold Shauna back from jumping her ass.
Shauna always stops fighting when you try to stop her. She's too afraid of hurting you. It makes you smile though, because you know that you couldn't actually stop her if she didn't allow you too.
Shauna pretends to give you space but will actually follow you from a distance. Not necessarily in a possessive way, she's just really worried about you getting hurt
She's not very good at being stealthy though so you'd definitely hear sticks breaking behind you. You eventually just give up. You turn around and look directly at her. "Just come here 😒😒"
Shauna's deceptively strong, which definitely shows a lot in the wilderness. Since she insists on following you around during your chores you make her do all the heavy lifting. “god this water pail is so heavy 😔😔. If only there was a big strong man to carry it for me.” Shauna teleporting from halfway across the forest fr like “I’ve got it y/n. 💪🙄”
she would get so so so excited if you offered to help her do butcher stuff. she’s watching you field dress a rabbit and is practically salivating. she’s such a violent little freak (affectionate). she pulls you away afterwards to make out and you’re like “i still have blood on my hands??”
being out in the wilderness has her bored as hell because why is she explaining the entire plot of wuthering heights to you. “Y/N? Y/N did you fall asleep??”
constantly being covered in hickeys and little marks. it's a possessive thing but shauna also just really likes to bite
the other yj’s watching Shauna spoon you every night and she's just like “...it’s to conserve body heat.” Van in the background: “It’s July though.”
sharing judging looks when Lottie starts in on her cult bs
you and Shauna sneaking away from doomcoming to have shroom sex and coming back to the most awkward fucking cabin afterwards. Jackie the next morning was like “so now we howl at the moon and have orgies?” You and Shauna in the background like 👀👀
Bonus:
Sitting in the meat cabin watching Shauna talk to Jackie’s corpse so she wouldn’t be out there alone. (probably sitting there wondering if Taivan could use a third instead lmao).
Shauna’s like “omg that was so funny Jackie”. you’re like “yeah… haha”. Jackie’s like “👻”

I've been thinking about transmasc!shauna :(((
-💗
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Hi 💗anon! I'm so so sorry I took this long to make this but i was conflicted on two ideas I got, since i didn't know if you wanted a sfw or nsfw headcanon/blurbs or a oneshot so, since I'm so cool and amazing, I did both! So, expect a Transmasc!Shaun oneshot (with a little twist ;) ), to come out in a few days.
Warnings: sfw, short and maybe kinda rushed, ooc Shaun, he is a clumsy and embarrassed boy, he is taller than us here because I said so, beginning of a relationship.
ANON! If you wanted general transmasc Shauna blurbs with more details about you, him and his journey with transition, ask away! I'd be more than happy to do them! I'm sorry if this isn't what you expected, I wasn't completely sure about how to do this but I tried my best!
Shaun who would fall in love with you the first time he sees you reading 'Pride and prejudice' on a bench outside of school.
He is totally smitten with you. He definitely told Jackie right away about his little crush and she, like the best friend she is, made a detailed plan on how to get your attention. And, since Jackie has befriended you -came to your desk after you had just moved schools and, oh so casually asked to be your friend- at the start of the school year (Shaun thinks:"What? She hasn't told me?" with an annoyed look on his face), this could flow all more smoothly.
This detailed plan consists of: Jackie approaching you after class with the intent of asking you to hang out after school, Shaun barging in the conversation asking Jackie something about helping him with literature studies -which Jackie knows is your favorite subject ever in your course-, excusing herself from his demands and asking you to aid her friend. It's perfect, Jackie thinks, Shaun feels this is too much but who is he to complain? Everything goes smoothly till, when he has to act his part in the plan, Shaun accidentally trips on thin air and falls, the contents of his backpack spilling all over the ground and the remains of his coffee staining his papers and shirt.
He is silent, his cheeks getting red with embarrassment. Both him, Jackie and you do not move for a moment, until the first one to move is you. You neatly pick up the papers and books that have fallen near you, meeting his eyes and looking at him with worry, "Are you ok?". His lips feel dry and his blood pressure rises causing him to redden even more than before "U-u-hh I... I am okay...", he feels like he is going to melt on the spot.
When he gets up, you have already helped him with all of his belongings, Jackie hadn't moved at all from her spot, too embarrassed (even if she hadn't been the one to be utterly humiliated in front of her crush). You try to lighten up the situation, joking about it all, Shaun laughs with you but he is in discomfort: the only chance he had to be the 'cool mysterious guy' blew off of his face, leaving a clumsy and stupid version of himself to the girl in front of him. You, on the other hand, don't think of him in that way: sure it was a bit embarrassing, and also funny, but he must've felt really embarrassed so you don't think about it too much.
Sometime passes, Shaun for the first days after closes himself in his room, remembering it all and changing inside his mind what happened. Jackie tries to call him, but he is unreachable; everything is starting to get ridiculous so Jackie rings the bell of Shaun's house and finds before her, her friend emotionally destroyed. She tries to comfort him, but to no avail; he is also angry at her but he won't mention it, otherwise Jackie would never let him hear the end of it. Much to his surprise, Jackie says that you asked him, "Is he ok? I haven't seen him" and "If he still needs help with the exam, I am here". He is very much red by now, the little hairs at the end of his neck standing up and his eyes watery. "...Really?".
When you meet him again, Shaun is tidy, he wears one of his flannel shirts and gray jeans, he has shaved the uneven peach fuzz that grew on his lips due to testosterone, and has a small red cut on the left side of his lip ("Who knows what she likes?" he tells Jackie while messily shaving himself "And besides I don't want to look like a barbarian!" says while unnoticing the small cut that he made. "Ah!" Jackie laughs, "Now you look like you've gotten into a fight with a cat!"). He tries to act cool, despite his total lack of knowledge on how to. When he sits down with you for the study session, the common hall is silent and you have to whisper, causing him to get a bit flustered. Your study session is cut short when you guys start to have an actual full-on conversation; unknowingly, you both start to talk and laugh a bit more loudly than normal, causing both of you to be escorted out of the library. Out, you two forgot completely your duties and spent an entire afternoon hanging out and talking. You notice it's starting to become dark, and when you look at the hour you see that you've lost an entire afternoon of study: you apologize profusely to him, and schedule another meeting. He can't complain, he gets to see you more.
For a while, this is your routine: meeting, trying to study, chatting and losing track of time. Until the exam gets close, so you try to help Shaun as much as possible and, with little to no surprise, he passes the exam. You are so proud of him, very much so, but now there is the little problem of how to see him again; he doesn't need your help again after all, maybe he never did. So you stay silent, hoping he will reach out to you. Unknowingly to you, Shaun feels the exact same, staring at his phone on the nightstand and hoping to receive a call. But none of you make the first step, both too afraid of rejection. That is when Jackie steps in, barging into Shaun's home with new, like Cupid, she strikes him with "She wants to see you again, I think she might like you". He is on cloud nine, his heart pumps fast and it looks like he might die of happines on the spot.
He calls, asking you to meet him at the same bench he saw you sitting on the first time. When you come, he is all giddy and blushy, he tries to rub off his tension from his hands. His voice is struck in his throat, he is the first to talk "I think...I would like to see you again, if it's fine..." you would like to kiss him, you think, but you're not sure he would like it at all, so instead you mutter "Sure...I would like that too'' with a smile. Your eyes met and without notice, you locked lips in a kiss. It's passionate, it's relieving, it's months of feelings and desires all in one kiss. You let out a breathy laugh, causing him to laugh in the kiss with you also, his arms hug your waist and you his neck, impossibly close to one another. He sighs, his heart is speeding and he feels a happines so strong that it almost seems pain,"Thank you, thank you, thank you...", he holds you close and strokes your cheeks “Thank you!".

fascinated that in toeing the line of "the doctor both is and is not asexual, and because the show is ostensibly sexier now there should be imagery of especially david tennant and various women (shockingly no men with ten) smooshing lips," it means that the doctor only ever instigates a kiss when it's got some scifi-type reason behind it, even starting with nine removing the time vortex from rose.
so only counting lip-to-lip contact for a second here*:
jack kisses the doctor (the parting of the ways)
nine removes the time vortex from rose (the parting of the ways)
cassandra kisses the doctor (new earth)
madame de pompadour kisses the doctor (the girl in the fireplace)
jackie kisses the doctor (army of ghosts)
the doctor leaves a DNA print on martha (smith and jones)
martha gives the doctor cpr (smith and jones)
john smith kisses joan (human nature)
astrid kisses the doctor (voyage of the damned)
the doctor kisses astrid goodbye as she dies (voyage of the damned -- only instigation on the doctor's part of any kiss)**
donna shocks the doctor out of being poisoned (unicorn and the wasp)
christina de souza kisses the doctor in planet of the dead and is overall very flirtatious at him in a way that almost feels like idk. an anti-romance plot. it's like everything that came before (and tbh... also amy and river song) in terms of "sexy" doctor-and-companion tension is lampshaded and made a bit silly. I don't know if this is just because the actress and dtennant have minus chemistry, but it's very funny that this is the final flirting + kiss and it's so very... "shrug, you're not going to be my companion, okay, goodbye"
*I think the only time the doctor even jokingly talks about kissing is in dalek's of manhatten, when martha and bby andrew garfield/frank have been captured and the doctor arrives. martha expresses her relief, and the doctor says something along the lines of: "well, you can kiss me later. you too frank, if you want." this is to diffuse a very scary/tense situation
**I tend to read the astrid final kiss as a kindness/comfort rather than romantic interest or sexual interest. because she is dying. and she kissed the doctor earlier, and is very scared
but wait! tentoo and rose were really going at it, you say! tentoo is part human/specifically human in a donna sense. tentoo is also super up for settling down and having a monogamous relationship, which isn't exactly the doctor's style in any regeneration. so yeah.. tentoo is another part of the tightrope, just like john smith. change the doctor into someone who is almost-but-not-quite the same, enough plausible deniability and voila, it's almost like the doctor is kissing someone, but crucially, the doctor still Is Not. in tentoo's case, the doctor is in fact watching it happen with a somewhat despondent look, before turning and leaving without waiting for rose to say goodbye. because, youknow. canonically the doctor cannot give rose what she wants (because he's not alloromantic/allosexual because he's an immortal alien) so it's better just to leave
lastly flirting: the doctor does flirt, but not often. the most flirtatious the doctor gets outside of above kissing line is when jack briefly joins nine and rose, and I'd call that the jack-contagion (affectionately, it's a good thing). ten, actually, flirts... less. comparably. (and hilariously is annoyed that jack flirts so much around him) a bit with rose in christmas invasion and new earth, but apart from the "sexy" wink, not very overtly. I mean, maybe I'm very ace, but I think they do banter rather than flirting. the one time the doctor interprets something as flirting that funnily enough isn't is when rose is talking to a cat. the doctor similarly gets flirted at (madame de pompadour, shakespeare code, martha several times, health and safety, silence of the library) but doesn't tend to enjoy it or often even notice it

Lowkey imagine the breaking my silence meme bc it feels real for this sentiment but I don’t want to add it here okay? Are you ready? Are you prepared for me to maybe piss you off a little idk how this will be received so just keep an open mind (or don’t I can’t control the gates of your brain I guess but at least I’ve warned you!!)
I think the fact that the two main ways of categorizing jackie taylor are, when boiled down to their simplest terms,
(1) popular mean girl who is a selfish bitch who I hate
(2) loser girl failure who isn’t actually popular or talented who I love
is ummmm sort of telling.
Like. Stay with me. I’m not hating on anyone. Actually, if you’re in group one I am hating on you a little tbh and you can clock out early and start sending me that hate anon now lmao cause this post isn’t really about you. But group two! stay with me for a minute because I get you! I really do! But I want to challenge that thinking and sort of examine it.
Why do we need to twist jackie into something else to like her? Like, if you see jackie as kind and loving and generally just a teenage girl trying to do her best, right? Why then do parts of her have to be “explained away” to a degree? She’s the striker and captain of a nationals bound team. Why does she have to not be a successful athlete to align with the sweetness that you see in her? Yes, coach martinez tells her she isn’t the best on the team, but we see how they treat allie who isn’t actually up to par. There’s nothing to indicate that jackie isn’t very good. Why does she actually have to be friendless besides shauna? Yes, it’s clear those two are codependent and mostly attached at the hip, but in the pilot we aren’t given reason to think that jackie is some friendless unliked girl. She’s socializing with different people and they seem to like her plenty. When she lines the team up yeah, there’s eye rolling, but they listen to her and they seem to mostly take her compliments fondly. She’s homecoming queen, that’s decided on by people voting you in and, generally speaking, you have to be liked and known by a lot of people for that to happen (again if you’re someone who thinks she’s an evil manipulative bitch somehow, this isn’t directed at you lmao).
Why can’t a girl be pretty and decently popular and talented at her sport and be kind and lovable? Why do we see a girl like jackie and need her to be secretly bad at that shit and not widely liked to find her palatable?
Like (1) girl is either truly pretty and popular and talented, so she’s a bitch OR (2) girl is sweet, so she can’t actually be pretty and popular and talented.
That’s the formula we’re fed constantly and I’m really tired of it cause it’s rebranded misogyny that we internalize and accidentally project onto the world tbh and I’m guilty of that in ways, like I’ve been there!!!
But idk. Yeah, Jackie is awkward at times and not good at popping deer tendons and embarrassingly earnest and a lot of other things along those lines!! But you can be all those things and still be everything else she is y’know? That’s sort of my whole point.
Anyway, let girls be good at things without that making them a bitch is what I’m getting at, I guess. Because I see a lot of people defend jackie from the “she’s a mean bitch” hate by saying “no she’s not, she’s literally got one friend and she’s not even good at soccer.”
And it’s like WELL idk about that!! And even if that was true, why is THAT the automatic defense against someone calling her a bitch?? Why are those two things so heavily equated and not even viewed as a logical leap? Why is the defense not to bring up all the kind loving things we see her do, but to chip away at the traits that she possesses that we are trained to find obnoxious or hateable in women, but aren’t fucking innately bad?
Anyway just a thought! I don’t hate anyone for making a joke about girlfailure jackie okay! Some of those are so funny and legit but it’s an overall trend I’m discussing! And like the idea that to be a girlfailure in the ways that she is, she must also be not well liked and bad at the shit she loves! Just an observation! <3 <3 <3

Can I please request a yellowjackets fic of platonic Jackie x younger sister reader (sort of like Travis and Javi’s relationship - maybe reader could be friends with Javi too), I don’t really have an idea for a plot though maybe some sort of tension and fight w Jackie but then everything is fixed by the end? And reader is like pretty different from Jackie - in typical sister style. That’s so unspecific I’m so sorry I suck at ideas I just crave big sister Jackie (I feel like she’d be a Nancy wheeler variant) okay ty bye ily

"Uno! Take that!" You exclaimed with enthusiasm, celebrating your third victory in the one-on-one game against Javi.
"This is so unfair," Javi said, rolling his eyes. "Let's play again. We're not leaving until I beat your ass." He spoke with determination.
You were grateful that you had packed your Uno deck in your backpack for the trip. Being stuck in a cabin with a bunch of teenagers and having nothing to do except stare at the rooftop for hours turned out to be more boring than you had anticipated.
Since the crash occurred, you and Javi had grown close. While you shared a few classes at school, you had never spoken to him before. But the shared misfortune of being on this trip as guests brought you together — Javi accompanying his dad, the team coach, and you accompanying your older sister, Jackie Taylor, the team captain. Not to mention that both Travis — Javi’s older brother — and Jackie were being assholes.
The initial weeks were challenging, to say the least. Jackie was being extremely annoying — she still is —, constantly bossing you around and disregarding your feelings. It seemed as though she was too absorbed in her own frustrations, always venting about the unfairness of the situation and the social events she was missing out on, like Rutger's rush week and all the frat parties. You knew Jackie didn't mean any harm, but it still bothered you. Additionally, the age gap with everyone being around three years older than you made you feel like an outcast and useless. Thankfully, you and Javi started getting along. You were assigned similar tasks, such as picking berries or fetching water from the lake, since both of you were younger and unable to handle more demanding activities. Thanks to this, you began spending a lot of time together and eventually became very close friends.
"What are you doing?" Javi asked incredulously, his eyebrows furrowing. "You can't play a +2 card after a +4 card," he pointed out.
You were aware that Javi was right, but decided to push back. "Yes, you can. It's literally stated in the instructions," you replied, attempting to gaslight him.
"No, it's not. You're lying," he insisted, firm in his belief.
"Fine, you got me," you admitted, flashing a playful smirk. "I'll take these four cards just so you don’t start crying," you teased.
“Ha, ha, so funny,” Javi responded with a smile.
Interrupting your playful banter, a voice called out from behind. "Hey, Y/n," Jackie said, grabbing your attention. "Have you seen my red lipstick?"
You let out a sigh as you glanced at your sister. Lately, she had been even more irritating than usual, probably because of the problems she was having with Shauna. Not that you were particularly invested in their drama. But the last thing you wanted was to engage in conversation with her, knowing all too well that it would probably lead to another argument.
"Yeah," you responded casually, briefly glancing away before returning to the game.
"Okay... So, where is it?" Jackie asked, her tone growing slightly impatient.
"I used it to write the S.O.S message on the plane," you replied nonchalantly, as if it were the most obvious thing.
"Wait... What?" Jackie exclaimed, her anger starting to rise. "Why the heck would you do that?”
Rolling your eyes, you replied sarcastically, "Oh, I'm sorry, Jackie. I forgot that packing a sharpie was at the top of our survival essentials checklist in the wilderness."
"You didn't even bother asking me!" she complained, her frustration evident.
"Well, maybe I didn't ask because you're such a self-centred bitch, always whining about missing out on your stupid parties," you retorted, your voice tinged with irritation. "It was the only thing I could find to leave a message for whoever might be searching for us. Stop being such an ass. I mean, you clearly wanna get out of here, dont you? Cooperate a little."
Jackie let out a loud huff, her lips pursed and a deep frown etched on her face as she stormed off, making her way towards the cabin. In her haste, she bumped her shoulder harshly into Van, who was heading to the lake. "Hey! Watch out!" Van exclaimed, her voice filled with surprise and annoyance. She followed Jackie's retreating figure with a confused and perplexed expression before turning back to you. You simply shrugged your shoulders, raised your eyebrows, and nonchalantly returned your focus to the game, leaving Van with a sense of bewilderment.
Javi gazed at you in stunned silence, but he didn't utter a word. After all, if someone could understand you it was him, as he had to deal with Travis. Without saying anything about the previous exchange, both of you chose to brush it off and swiftly changed the topic, resuming the game as if nothing had happened.
Tumblr media
Three hours had passed since your argument with Jackie. After playing with Javi for about an hour, you decided to lend a hand to Tai with boiling the dirty pads. Once you finished the task, you stayed there for a while, gossiping with her and Van.
“I’m getting kinda cold, I’ll be right back,” you announced, rising from your spot on the ground and making your way towards the cabin to retrieve a hoodie. They nodded in acknowledgment as you left.
You entered the cabin and opened the shared closet, scanning its contents for your favorite hoodie. Once you found it, you slipped it on and turned around, ready to make your exit. However, Jackie stood there, blocking your path to the door.
You tried to walk past her, but Jackie swiftly reached out and grabbed your arm, preventing your escape.“Nope, you’re not leaving. You’re finally gonna tell me what the heck is going on,” she declared, her arms folded and her stance blocking the door knob.
You hesitated for a moment, contemplating your response. "What are you talking about? Nothing's going on," you insisted, trying to downplay the situation.
Jackie pursed her lips, clearly not convinced. "Okay... Liar," she responded, tilting her head slightly.
You made another attempt to leave, but Jackie swiftly blocked your path with her arm. "No! You've been distant and acting weird for weeks. Not to mention how mean you've been towards me," she argued, her frustration evident.
"Well, what did you expect?" you retorted, your voice laced with exasperation. "Huh? The only thing you've done since we got here is complain and do nothing except act like a child. I'm scared and I miss home too, and the fact that my older sister, the person I should be able to rely on the most, is behaving like a brat, doesn't help me at all, okay?" Tears welled up in your eyes as you spoke, the pain evident in your voice. "I just wish you were more like Tai or Van," you expressed, your voice filled with disappointment. "They take better care of me than you do.”
Jackie's expression softened as she listened to your words, her remorse evident on her face. She let out a deep sigh and her shoulders slumped. "I... I didn't realize," she admitted, her voice heavy with regret. "Shit, I'm so sorry, Y/n," she apologized, her words sincere. Without hesitation, she pulled you into a tight hug, holding you close. "I'm really sorry," she whispered, her voice filled with genuine remorse.
Overwhelmed with emotions, you couldn't hold back the tears any longer. "I'm sorry too, for being a bitch," you confessed, your voice filled with regret. "I just wanted my sister back. I'm so scared, Jackie," you admitted.
Jackie gently pulled away from the hug and tenderly wiped away your tears with her fingers. "I'm scared too, but we'll get through this together, okay?" she reassured you, her voice filled with warmth and determination. "Everything will be okay, I promise," she added, a soft smile gracing her lips. A tear escaped from her own eye, reflecting her sincerity. You nodded in response, feeling a renewed sense of hope and comfort in her words.
You embraced Jackie once again, holding onto her tightly. "I love you, Jackie," you whispered, your voice filled with genuine affection. She reciprocated the sentiment, her voice soft and comforting. "I love you too," she replied, her hand gently caressing your hair.
"But, shit, I just lost 10 bucks," you exclaimed, separating from her with a disappointed expression.
Confused, Jackie asked, "What do you mean?" Her fingers continued to caress the sides of your arms.
"Javi and I made a bet about who had the crappiest older sibling," you explained with a mischievous smile. "You apologized before Travis did to him, so now I owe him 10 bucks."
"Oh my god, I can't believe you," Jackie responded, playfully pinching your side. "And don't ever compare me to Travis. I might be a brat, but he seriously needs professional help with his anger issues," she argued.
You burst into laughter. "Yeah, yeah, whatever you say," you replied with a grin, grabbing her by the arm and dragging her outside with you.

I have rewatched the mean lesbians episode in hopes I would like them more the second time, but I'm afraid I'm still not vibing with it. Credit that they tried to undercut the "lesbians who drop in to give our main couple therapy" with the whole reveal it was game and Mary's little rant about their relationship "losing the magic", but like... did they really? Do Anne and Mary not successfully tee up the really touching BlackBonnet airing of grievances and reconciliation? Laughing at them a bit for being dorky doesn't change that they really didn't do much sabotaging, overall, so it's not like they weren't pushing them back together.
I mean, even Mary's whole rant happens after Anne leaves the room. By the time they really start telling us how this couple has their own foundation cracks and issues (vs the veneer of just keeping it interesting) and aren't a longstanding example of a healthy relationship, Anne is literally offscreen making a grand romantic gesture that will solve Mary's discontent. I know they are fitting a miscommunication arc into half an episode instead of 2-3 seasons, but the end result just feels like speedrunning a knock off of BlackBonnet's issues.
And that along with the fact they function as BlackBonnet mirrors first and characters second, it all just feels very... underwhelming (?) to me.
Like why do I care about Anne and Mary? Is the face stealing gimmick supposed to have hooked me? They also, imo, really fucked up by ending on a hug - it just spotlights the fact that, for all the sex jokes, they don't really bother to sell physical intimacy between the two. They maybe bump shoulders at the shop, sit in separate chairs in every scene in the house... honestly the best they do is the offscreen knife flicking. Which funny metaphor but like. Why can't the lesbians be into each other without the metaphor? Or am I supposed to think that Anne "burn the whole house down the second her wife admits she doesn't like swamp life" Bonny didn't pick up that Mary was maybe unhappy when they entirely stopped touching each other and replaced it with murder attempts.
Even a repeat of the offscreen joke but this time imply they are hardcore making out as Stede and Edward slip away would have probably hit better? (I'm assuming for some reason kissing was off the table, otherwise even more wtf why not just kiss?)
(Can you tell I've been thinking about the sorry state of femslash?)
Also I'd be remiss not to tie my dissatisfaction with Anne and Mary to my dissatisfaction with OFMD's prevailing approach to female characters. Spanish Jackie's entire thing is being so awesome and desirable that she has 20 husbands that all work for her, which is super fun. Mary Bonnet became a widowed girlboss with a Doug, which was also fun. Then suddenly we're meeting Zheng Yi Sao who is a girlboss Pirate Queen better than any man, and her right-hand woman that seems like a more stable and competent Edward/Izzy parallel, and her crew of only hyper-competent women... do you see how this is getting a bit repetitive?
Now we add Anne and Mary speedrunning BlackBonnet parallels to teach them a grand gesture romantic lesson? So... doing Stede and Edward but Better™?
Zheng Yi Sao still has time to get more interiority that could offset the whole "girlboss" gimmick which would help, but until that happens the only real female character standout to me is Archie - a woman who has something deeply wrong with her but has so far just kind of slotted in as a equal crewmember instead of the Competent Woman Character.

🐰 — you're the one (that im dreamin' of)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: ever since that stupid kiss with jackie, things have gotten worse. you just wish she liked you back. warnings: fluff with angst, childhood best friends to lovers, pining, dysphoria mentions/internalized transphobia, timeskips. not proofread a/n: 3k WORDS HOLY FUCK????? this is my first fic that ive done that has gotten to be this long im amazed wtf! this is definitively a favorite of mine now, and i hope you all enjoy it <3
you're just sitting next to each other on the couch watching a movie, you don't know why your heart is beating so fast.
maybe it's because her shoulder is touching yours, and every time she finds a joke funny, she leans into you while laughing, causing you to sweat and nervously laugh along with her.
god, you need to get over your little crush on jackie. well, it's not little at all, actually - you know you're in love with her, which is 10x worse. but the worst part is the voice in the back of your head telling you that she'd never be with someone like you. someone trans.
you know it's not true - jackie was very supportive when you came out to her in middle school. she was the only one defending you from shitty kids and let you stay at her house for a while when your parents found all your binding stuff and threw you out. of course, you had to go back eventually but they made you throw out anything related to that 'sinful' shit.
jackie would sneak you some of shauna's flannels when you'd reach the bus stop so you could be yourself outside of home, and you always chalked that fluttery feeling in your stomach when she called you handsome down to gender euphoria. which is partly true, but you secretly wished she would've called you her boyfriend instead.
but even so, you'd have to swallow the bile that rose to your throat when senior year of high school started, and you'd see her talking to jeff - to a real man. you know that there wasn't anything going on between them, but your stomach would churn when she would mention how cute he looked that day. it made you angry - at her, at jeff, at your parents, at yourself.
so angry, that you would start ignoring her. being too close to her got to your head and it was getting hard to ignore your growing feelings for her. but this is jackie we're talking about, and she cornered you until you spat out some pathetic excuse that you were just busy with homework to ever go see her. she didn't buy it for a second, but she saw how uncomfortable you were and didn't want to press you about it. you somehow made it through the rest of the school year with only seeing her a couple times while hanging out with mutual friends.
now, it's your freshman year at rutgers which jackie begged you to apply at so you could be college buddies, and to be honest, it wasn't your first choice, but you applied anyways. and it was the only one you got accepted to, so you had no choice in the matter. coincidentally, you and jackie had the same history class, so it was only natural that she had asked you to come over to her house to reconnect.
which was a bad idea.
"have you ever kissed someone?" jackie speaks suddenly, turning to you while twirling her hair around a finger.
you splutter for a second, gulping hard. "u-uh, no, i haven't. have you?"
please say no, please say no.
"me neither." she smiles, and if you hadn't been too embarrassed to make eye contact, you would have seen the way she glanced at your lips. you hum at her response and nod before turning your attention back to the movie.
a beat passes.
"wait, we should totally practice on each other!" she says it as if it were a huge revelation. she's looking at you with sparkles in her eyes and an innocent grin, reaching for the remote to pause the movie.
"what?" you squeak out, scooting up and sitting straighter on the couch, swallowing hard as you look at her. your hand shakes as you bring it up to scratch at the back of your head. "are you serious?"
"of course," she rolls her eyes. jackie leans in closer to you and grabs your hands, and if she heard the nervous breath of air you let out, she chose to ignore it. "i mean, it wouldn't even be awkward, right? we've known each other since we were kids. and besides, it's just a little practice, no harm done."
oh, if you only knew.
you think about it - really, think about it. you don't wanna kiss her just because you like her. you know that would just cause more problems with your feelings for her. but at the same time, you've barely gotten to know anyone while at this college and the only girl you talk to here is your classmate who sits beside you in art, and she only asked for a pencil one time. so, who knows when the next time you'd be given this opportunity to kiss another girl, let alone jackie taylor.
of course, there would be no other option you'd pick besides kissing her, even if that means destroying your friendship with her forever. for you, at least. she'd go on with her life and you'd be stuck dealing with all the emotions and be lucky if you don't suddenly explode with them.
you nod slowly, choosing to ignore the sinking feeling in your gut. your lips tremble as you speak, and a cold sweat consumes your body. "s-sure. it's just practice." you try to convince yourself of it, but it doesn't seem to work that well.
jackie giggles and claps her hands together, wiggling her toes as she gets in position next to you, and you nearly back out of it as you feel her breath hit your lips. she places her hand on your shoulder for a second, picking at the fabric of your shirt before trailing her hand to your neck and pulling you in for a soft kiss.
your brain immediately shuts off and you can hear the wires crack with electricity as her plump lips move against yours. you have no choice but to let her take control of the kiss, jackie giving you experimental pecks before getting brave enough to stick her tongue in your mouth.
you moan at the feeling, eyes widening with embarrassment as you pull away, wiping your lips with the back of your hand. you can't look her in the eye as you stutter out apologies, but you wish you could because the only thing you can focus on is how swollen her lips are.
"how was it? was i good?" she asks hopefully, leaning in and anticipating your response.
"mhm." is all you can say.
she raises her fists in a celebratory manner, proud of her newly found skill. she buzzes with excitement, looking lost in thought as she replays the moment in her head. she grabs the remote and turns to you again, seemingly mistaking your frozen state for some sort of expectation on her part.
"you were good too." she reaches out and touches your arm, eyebrows furrowing at how suddenly you get up.
"sorry-i just," you wipe at your nose and clear your throat, looking anywhere but her. "i forgot i have an early class tomorrow, and i don't wanna stay up late."
"oh, okay." she nods, trying not to sound disappointed. she watches you walk away and calls out your name, remembering something. "wait! you should come to my party that i'm hosting in a few weeks."
"what party?"
"it's just a small party with friends and their friends, probably. it's to kick off our first semester of college." she smiles and shrugs, bouncing on her tippy toes. "i really want you to be there with me."
"and shauna!" she adds quickly. "her semester at brown doesn't start for a couple more weeks so she's coming over to visit. she's been asking about you too, i don't know why she's suddenly so interested in you." she crosses her arms, looking annoyed.
"i'll try to show up, but don't expect anything." you tell her, giving her a small smile. you feel your heart skip a beat at her excited squeal and hug, awkwardly melting into it.
you walk out the door and can feel your emotions building up, kicking a stray rock on jackie's sidewalk before you let out a heavy sigh and wipe your face.
"fuck!"
Tumblr media
the second you get to the party, you make a beeline straight for the drinks.
jackie's front door was unlocked when you arrived and for now, she was nowhere to be found. you're not entirely sure why you decided to show up in the first place - you've been a mess since that kiss you had with her all those weeks ago. it's all you can think about and replay in your mind, and some of your grades have started to slip. the thought of seeing her here after successfully avoiding her, which was surprisingly easy with a clever lie about being busy with classes, made you want to vomit.
you gulp down your 4th shot, grimacing at the burn in your throat. you pull out your phone and check the time - 9:49 p.m. you could stay another hour or so, take advantage of all the free drinks, maybe say a quick "hi" to jackie and shauna and then leave.
"should you really be drinking that much?" you hear a raspy voice tease from behind you.
speak of the devil.
you turn around and are face to face with shauna shipman, one of your best friends from elementary school. the last time you had spoken to her was a couple of days before high school graduation, and it was about jackie, because of course it would be. she had urged you to grow some balls and ask her out before any other person with brains would. you chickened out, that same voice in the back of your head saying she would've rejected you. of course, you've kept up with her through texts, but you haven't really had the time or heart to respond to all her questions about how it's going with jackie.
you roll your eyes and bashfully smile at the sight of her, clad in her iconic plaid shirt, which you're pretty sure is the exact one jackie gave you that one time. you shake your head to rid the thought of her, bringing shauna in for a hug. you inhale the scent of her cologne, sighing against her shoulder as your mind spins.
"i've missed you, shipman." you pull away from her and grab another shot, ignoring how she scoffs and rolls her eyes. despite this, she reaches out and grabs herself one, clinking it against your glass before you both swallow it down.
"you look good." she compliments, punching your arm and scanning your body over. "i heard that you've been on T for a while now, congrats. i like the little baby beard thing you've got going on." you swat her hand away from your face as she tries to touch it, chuckling at her antics.
"oh, thanks." you say with fake earnest, scratching at your stubble. "i've only been letting it grow out for 6 months now, no big deal."
"i'm sure jackie loves it, she's always had a thing for beards." shauna replies, smirking at you.
your smile drops a bit at the mention of jackie and you clear your throat awkwardly, looking away. shauna looks at you quizzically, wondering what she said wrong. you shake your head, pouring yourself another shot before sighing.
"it's a long story." you slur, the alcohol finally catching up to you. she grabs you by the hands and leads you through the crowd of people and into jackie's backyard, pulling a chair out and sitting you down.
"well, spit it out."
you end up spilling your guts to shauna about your feelings and what happened with jackie, surprising yourself for being able hold tears back as you pour your heart out. she rubs your back comfortingly as she listens to you talk about everything, her heart hurting as you mention your internalized transphobia.
she opens her mouth to speak but another voice calls out for you.
"there you are!" jackie yells, stopping in her tracks when she sees how close shauna is to you. her annoyance turns into concern when she notices how drunk you are. "i've been looking for you everywhere."
you giggle at her, looking up with a dopey smile and rush to your feet. "jackieeeee, hi."
"how much has he had to drink?" jackie looks at shauna, growing more concerned. you stumble into her arms, and she catches you, trying to keep you still as you mumble incoherently into her neck.
shauna shrugs, wondering if she should intervene. you're nearly black out, but she knows this would be the only way on earth that you'd confess to jackie. "maybe 4, 5 shots?"
jackie scoffs, rolling her eyes. she grabs your face and looks at you with a soft expression. "i'm gonna take you back to my room, okay? you can rest in there until you get sober enough."
"noooo," you pout, letting yourself get tugged by her back into the house and up the stairs, which you nearly trip on. you huff and puff as she pushes you into her room, feeling old memories come back at being in here. "you're no fun."
she ignores you and guides you over to her bed, pulling the covers back and helping you get in. you have no energy to fight back as she tucks you in, moving stray hairs out of your face and kissing your forehead. she leaves for a second to fetch you water, forcing you to drink some.
"why did you have to ask me to do it?" you ask suddenly, hiccupping and closing your eyes as you feel yourself get tired.
"do what?" she says quietly, running her nails over your scalp as she watches over you.
"ask me to practice kissing." you mumble. "i hated it. i hate you."
"i'm sorry." she apologizes, feeling a pang of sadness at your words. "i never wanted to make you fe-."
"i think i'm in love with you, jackie."
she freezes, her movements stilling as she processes what you just said. she swallows down what she really wants to say and shakes her head, blinking away tears. "you're drunk, you don't mean that."
"i do. i've known since middle school, i just could never tell bring myself to tell you because you'd never date someone like me."
"shut up." she gets out of bed, releasing a shaky sigh and fixing her hair. she feels her stomach drop as you give her a dejected look and turns around to face the door. "you can sleep here tonight. i'll come and check on you in the morning."
she walks towards the door and opens it, not looking back to you as she whispers a "goodnight." you're too drunk right now to care about what you just did, so you close your eyes and sleep.
Tumblr media
you wake up with arguably the biggest hangover ever and groan, covering up the creeping sunlight with your blanket. wait- not your blanket, jackie's blanket. you sit up, feeling your heart sink as you realize what happened last night.
shit.
just as you're about to get out of bed, the door opens and in walks jackie, looking surprised at you being awake.
"i've checked on you like 5 different times, and you were always asleep." she chuckles awkwardly, sitting at the foot of the bed and fingering the loose thread on her pajamas. "i didn't know if you had classes today but i figured i'd let you sleep in anyway."
"thanks." you mutter, licking your dry lips and reaching for the water she brought you last night and taking a generous swig. you glance at the clock that reads 2:33 p.m. and sigh. you do have a 3 o'clock class but you really don't think you can handle going anywhere today.
the room is filled with uncomfortable silence as you both sit and pretend like you're not glancing at each other. you fumble with the water bottle before you gather the courage and speak with a small voice.
"i'm, uh, i'm sorry about last night. i wasn't thinking." that's as best as you can do without feeling like throwing up.
"did you mean it? what you said about me?" jackie scoots closer, removing the water bottle from your grip and placing it back on the nightstand. you internally scream as you make eye contact with her before looking away, feeling too nervous. her hand covers yours and you feel a shock of electricity, nodding your head slowly as you glance back to her.
"y-yes." you finally say, voice breaking. "i meant it."
you watch as her shoulders relax, closing her eyes and sighing out. she looks to you with a half grin and playfully shoves you, bouncing to her knees on the bed and holding you by the shoulders. "you're an idiot."
"excuse me?" you furrow your eyebrows, looking at her like she's crazy.
jackie shakes her head and pushes you back so you're lying down the bed and gets onto your lap, her lips meeting yours in a sweet kiss. you feel like you're having a fever dream between the hangover and jackie kissing you, but you welcome it, placing your hands on her hips and kissing her back.
you spend at least 5 minutes catching up with a long awaited makeout session, jackie pulling back with a satisfied grin. she rests her forehead against yours and caresses your cheek with her hand, looking into your eyes with a loving expression that makes your heart flutter.
"i was waiting for you to confess to me all these years, you know." she mumbles, kissing your nose. "i was starting to think you were gay or something."
you chuckle, tracing random patterns on her back. you lean up and flip her over on her back, smiling at her sound of surprise that flies from her mouth. you place your arms over both sides of her head and kiss her gently, pulling back only slightly.
"well, here's my confession. jackie taylor, i've been in love with you since we were in middle school. you would make me the happiest man in the world if you went out with me. what do you say?"
"hmm," she ponders, giggling as you pinch her side. she brings you in for another long, sweet kiss, getting sidetracked as she stares at you.
"i say yes."

Taco Fiesta 2.0
Quick story for fun ft. @wussifer's OC Jack and my boy Cliff who are actual soulmates in another life <3 Based on this. 1,287 words, CW: food poisoning, emeto, mucho fluff.
Jack's love for questionably safe street food had gotten him in trouble more than once over the years. Cliff kept telling him to stay away from those stands but Jack's memory seemed only to last a few months before he took the plunge again. This time is was "Phil's Philly Steaks" and Jack thought the name was way too funny to pass up trying.
Cliff groaned and tried to tug him along. "Jack, please, Leo's got dinner at home waiting for us," he tried, but it was hopeless. The call of street meat with a terrible pun was all too powerful.
"It's fine," Jack said casually as he handed over a wad of ones. "I have a different stomach for this kind of thing."
"You do not," Cliff rolled his eyes. "Just don't come to me when it's 'Got Taco to the Fiesta' 2.0, alright?"
"Sure, baby," Jack said cheerfully, accepting the giant paper plate overflowing with steaming Philly steak that he was handed. "Thanks man," he told the vendor and Cliff followed behind him to a nearby bench.
Cliff looked at Jack's purchase with distaste. "That looks like brains," he said.
Jack took a big bite and hummed with satisfaction. "Delicious brains though. Wanna try?"
"Absolutely not," Cliff said, pushing the forkful Jack was holding up away and sticking out his tongue. He waited as Jack miraculously devoured the entire meal and threw away the plate with a satisfied burp. "You're so gross," Cliff whined as Jack laughed and appologized.
They took the train back home and made it to Leo's apartment without further incident. Jack's belly was sticking out a bit but true to his word, he managed to shove down a whole plate of dinner made by Leo, too. Cliff had no idea how his boyfriend had such a bottomless appetite but he figured at least Jack was eating enough for the both of them, given Cliff no longer ate my mouth. After dinner they went to Jack's room where Jack sat at his desk to study and Cliff watched videos on bed.
Jack was still studying when Cliff got sleepy and turned in for the night. "Night Jackie," he said. Jack blew him a kiss and looked fondly at his little family on bed, made up of Cliff, one cat in his arms and one dog at his feet. He had about fifty of the same exact picture but he couldn't help but snap another one with his phone, they were just so cute.
Around eleven, Jack's stomach started rumbling loudly. He rubbed it and shifted in his chair uncomfortably. He had definitely eaten too much today, but it'd go down soon enough. Except an hour later, it certainly hadn't gone down and Jack felt even more bloated than before. He groaned and stood up, thinking maybe walking around would help. Did they have Tums in the bathroom? Jack located then and chewed two of the tablets. The chalky taste did the opposite of make him feel better and he realized very quickly that he was feeling nauseous.
It was just too much food, he told himself. No way this was the tacos from three months ago 2.0. He hit his chest with his fist a few times and let out a loud belch that made his eyes water. He glanced at Cliff but his boyfriend was still sleeping soundly. The dog, however, was staring at him in startled disdain.
"Sorry Sabi," Jack said, rubbing his aching stomach. Sabi sniffed as if he understood and rested his head back down on Cliff's legs.
Jack tried to go back to studying, but his stomach was really burning now and it felt like the words he was attempting to read were running all over the page. He had begun to sweat and groaned, pushing his chair away from the desk and pressing his forehead on the edge. He tried to breathe through the nausea but one thought about the neon yellow cheese sauce on that cheese steak today put him over the edge and he made a mad dash for the bathroom.
It was an absurd amount of food to have eaten, and it felt absurd coming back up. Jack threw up wave after wave of chunky, smelly vomit and swore to himself for probably the twentieth time that he'd listen to Cliff about the street food next time. After a few minutes it seemed like he was empty, and the dizziness was gone. Jack flushed the toilet and stood on shaky legs to wash his face and hands in the sink. He listened, but Leo's bedroom was too far away to hear and Cliff seemed to have manage to sleep through it despite the occasional very loud moan that had come out of him.
Jack returned to the desk in his room, hoping that was it. Going back to studying turned out to be a no go though and Jack gave up quickly, crawling into bed next to Cliff and resting his head on Cliff's chest. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep. The attempt lasted about fifteen minutes before Jack was launching himself back into the bathroom for round two. That solidified it - it wasn't just overeating and Phil's Philly Steak was most certainly the culprit. Jack threw up until there really wasn't anything left but stomach acid. It took him another ten minutes to gather the strength to stand up and wash up again, spraying some air freshener on his way out to mask the putrid smelling combo of fry oil mixed with puke.
Jack stumbled back to bed and lay down, clutching his stomach with a loud groan. Cliff didn't look so cute asleep anymore. He looked annoyingly peaceful while Jack was going through cheese steak purgatory. Jack shook his shoulder, whining. "Cli-ifffff."
Cliff twitched and opened his eyes, squinting at Jack cluelessly. "What?" He asked, his voice thick with sleep.
"I threw up," Jack said pathetically.
"Oh, sorry baby," Cliff mumbled, reaching for Jack and pulling him close. "Do you... need... Zzzz." Aaaaand he was asleep again. Jack sighed and cuddled against Cliff anyways. Cliff tended to be fairly useless between the hours of ten PM and eight AM unless Jack really set off the alarms, but he wasn't going to do that for another round of food poisoning by stupidity.
"Thanks Cliff, you're so comforting," Jack muttered. Cliff's arms did feel nice though, and before Jack knew it his eyes had begun to sag closed. "Love you," he said.
The next morning there'd be plenty of time for scolding and then coddling and rubbing Jack's back as he threw up again. But at least until morning, the two of them managed to sleep - one much deaper than the other.
"You should've woke me up," Cliff said the next morning while serving Jack plain toast in bed, hoping it would ease Jack's stomach cramps.
"I did," Jack said.
"Really?" Cliff asked, a look of genuine confusion on his face. "Sorry. I don't remember."
"It's okay," Jack said. "I'll forgive you if you make me a good Philly cheese steak at home."
Cliff made a face of disbelief. "Jack, you cannot seriously want to eat right now," he said.
"Not now! Later. To erase the taste of the poisonous version from my memory," Jack said.
Cliff shook his head. "Maybe you should try and remember the poisonous one next time you want street food," Cliff said. But then Jack gave him such kicked puppy dog eyes that he added, "Okay, I'll do it, just listen to me next time, please?"
Jack grinned, gave Cliff innocent doe eyes and said with an incredible amount of confidence, "I always listen to you!"

ok hear me out I noticed something.
Izzy's opinion on Stede changes quite drastically between episode 2 and 3. When he first meets Stede and Stede's like "I believe we have dibs on those men!" Izzy is smiling slightly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's got a little upward quirk breaking through his expressions. He's enjoying himself! Stede is weird and new and entertaining, and as of this moment he has no reason not to go theater kid v. theater kid and just have fun with Stede about it. Stede is also definitely having fun too!
Things change slightly when Stede gets his knife to Izzy's face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Izzy goes into Serious Mode here, not knowing yet that this isn't a situation where Stede would go into Serious Mode. I don't think Izzy thinks Stede'll kill him, probably, but everyone is saying he's insane.
But then, at the end, after Stede's knife is away from his face and nobody dies, his smug little smile returns.
Tumblr media
At the very end of the episode he is staring so blankly at the Revenge for a long time. I just think that's funny.
Tumblr media
Literally 0 thoughts running around his skull rn lmao
Anyways, in episode 3, Izzy goes from finding Stede mildly entertaining, to disliking him.
Their interaction starts off with Izzy being a dramatic theater kid again, but he's a bit more riled up because he hates Spanish Jackie's (and for another reason I explain later). Stede goes: "ugh, you again!" because he's busy being onto the next thing. Stede generally is super mad at Izzy and frankly it's kind of out of nowhere. Guess he's pissed off about the nose juice or his second white outfit being destroyed? There's still an element of playfulness there around Stede mentioning the hostage and a little bit of that two-theater-kids-playing energy. But, in the end, they hate each other more after this second interaction. Izzy doesn't like being called names (compared to the ~relative~ respect he got in their first encounter) and Stede refusing to see Ed is disrespectful in his eyes.
Now for the million dollar question: why? What made Stede go from entertaining to obnoxious in Izzy's mind?
I'm not 100% sure, but I'd wager a guess that it's Ed. Izzy finds Stede entertaining and reports back his encounter (probably definitely edited a bit to put him in a better light) and now Ed finds Stede interesting. And Izzy knows that's a battle he can't win. I don't think Izzy is interested in the same way that Ed is (Ed has a crush), I think Izzy wants a homoerotic rivalry he doesn't realize is homoerotic.
And he does get it to some degree. The "Muse Why Have You Forsaken Me" scene is some of the gayest theater kid shit I've ever seen. But in the end Stede doesn't care about Izzy, doesn't see him as a nemesis. Izzy is very personally invested in hating Stede, and he's pissed off that Stede doesn't have the same level of investment in being enemies. Because of Ed. Because Stede is way more interested in Ed. Izzy and Stede can't have their own thing without him. Once again, Izzy's angry that Stede isn't conforming to the way he thinks they should be. Nemeses are deeply personal, and Stede doesn't care.
So, in the end, It's ✨jealously✨ babey
