Charles whose dad smashed his cassette tape with a hammer learns to navigate the backpack cause, like, he needs to be useful, yeah?

and this way Charles has everything Edwin needs, and if Edwin gets sick of him he’ll just.. he doesn’t know what he’ll do.

but then Edwin gets the record player.

he suggests, tentatively, that Charles might play some of his “queen” if he liked. after all, if they are to haunt potential realtors away from their new office, they may as well entertain themselves.

so they take turns, switching out; edwin likes opera. he shows Charles how to waltz, chiding Charles to stop looking at his feet til they’re gliding, whirling around like they’re in the movies. Edwin’s smile is small and pleased and lovely. (Charles attempt to get Edwin to headbang along to queen results in a sort of awkward rhythmic nodding. Charles loves him so much he could die again.)

And, like. Edwin doesn’t like clutter. he doesn’t bother with the random tidbits ghosts give them for solving cases.

until now, apparently.

now he comes back from trading at the goblin market with little useless things—a cursed rubix cube, records from bands Charles mentioned years ago.

Charles is so busy trying to subtly read his book on Edwardian courting rituals (disguised by Nikos discreet manga covers) that he doesn’t realize what Edwin’s set down in front of him. he stares at Edwin’s spiky handwriting, the tidy numbered list.

“I thought, perhaps, that we might—start a new tradition.”

Charles blinks, eyes stinging. “Mate, did you.. make me a mixtape?”

“Crystal assisted me, and while she was absolutely insuffer—“ Edwin staggers, catching him with a surprised little noise.

“I love you so much,” Charles says, muffled into his throat. “You’re my favorite person. I love you so much it hurts, sometimes.”

“Yes,” Edwin says softly, hands curling around his waist. He takes Charles weight like it’s nothing. “I believe I know the feeling.”

this beautiful idiot went to live with someone else and honestly, both of our QOL are much better HAHA

#she just could not vibe with a house full of other animals #her anxiety manifested in insatiably eating everything #not just food #cardboard plastic you name it #i had to lock cupboards and put books on the bin so she couldnt open it and rummage through it #she screamed for food constantly #she innappropriately toileted constantly #to the point where i bought two automatic litter trays so they were always spotless in case that was the issue #she was medicated and given daily enrichment #but nope #anyway after over a year of kind of hating our life together #i bit the bullet and rehomed her #her food obsession has disappered and besides peeing on their bathmat once #she has used the litter tray without issue #we make a commitment to our pets yall #but do not force yourself to keep them if you are both miserable #i wish i was brave enough to have done this sooner #anyway #rehoming is not the devil #and you can do it responsibly #bye ferg i'm sorry to say i don't miss you #but i'm so glad you're finally happy #fergie #the cat edition

Something about dark nova yakumo makes me want to bully him. Every time I see him I want to shove him in a locker or pour mop water on his head. I'm not sure why; I don't feel that strongly about his other alts but for some reason just thinking of him in a school setting turns me into a generic high school bully.

Some old shopping channel videos that partially recorded over my cartoons as a kid, thought I'd upload them here for archival purposes (2/3)

BEHOLD. CUP. that's vaguely triangular- Made this during the fever of having like 2 weeks to throw 50 pieces. I died a few times but I'm ok. This piece was fired in a wood fired salt kiln. Finally got to have an (2) over night shift! Was very fun.

I swear it's not as wobbly in person- if you could see the set up I used to film this you would vomit. Don't get me wrong. It's not my best work, but the fact this was held up on several scrap pieces of wood from the burn pile and then sat on top of a folded up pillowcase that I couldn't remove a ridge in the middle from making it even more wonky. BUT I DIGRESS.

#it REALLY didnt want to be fired. it tryed to not get fired like 5 times thoughout the prosses.. first i somehow lost it after fireing it.#then i put it into the kiln room and it got moved to a top shelf where it hid till the last second to get fired.#then i nearly forgot to bring it to the place with the kiln. then i nearly lost it in the bin i brought it in and it almost didnt get glaze #then i nearly droped it on the way to the kiln. then we were running out of room and it was just too tall for the 4 inch stilts but too #short for the 6 inch ones so it kept getting put back- BUT IT GOT FIRED. AND IT MINE. Holy shit this took me far longer than I ever anticipated, but it’s done!! 🥹

@semianonymity this is for your wonderful, wonderful Toriko fanfic Anoint Your Wings With Love, which I’ve read at least 10 times??

It’s an absolutely wonderful read, and y’all should read it too!! I think most of your fanfics I’ve read make me cry to some degree, but that’s only bc they’re so damn good with expressing emotion and heartache and pain and love god the LOVE.

Small vent on art burnout under cut.

Sadly, I was really burnt out while trying to make this, with the research on feather placement and shape and how to match the size to the person, not to mention the colors alone. AND THE SIZE REFERENCES! Life also wasn’t being friendly with me at that point… I could go on as to how perfectionist I was trying to get this done while also having fun with the process, but I think this was just too big a project for me at that time.

I kinda started to slip with the colors and background, and I couldn’t bring myself to add any shading (still can’t!), even tho I LOVE shading! I even forgot Zebra’s scars and nipples!! Can you imagine that, some of the main details for one of the main characters, not to mention the tiddies not having their little buttons, and you just straight forget they exist??

At the end, I do love the final product but I know I can do much, much better. With anatomy, detailing, shading, background creating, etc etc.

Anywho, I hope y’all enjoy this addition to the Bin, and I’ll probably take a short break from large digital art projects for a bit. I’ll still doodle, and might post those instead just for shits and giggles, but as for fanart of amazing works of fanfiction and shows and games and such? I’ll have to take a back seat for a bit.

sometimes at work i get emails about changes in our department that i feel are 100% because of me. and maybe that's just me being anxious and paranoid but actually it certainly isn't.

#one time i was working at our drive thru window (that's something we have for some reason) and trying to empty the drop bins at the #same time. but the problem with that is the drop bins are LITERALLY halfway across the library #and my boss was working in the workroom at the time (which he almost never does bc he has an office)#so he saw that everytime i managed to get across the library then id get 3 books on a cart before the bell at the drive up window rang again #and that happened like 4 times in a row #not like he got up to do it though. just sat there pretending he didn't see it #then the next day we got an email from him requesting the way we empty the drop bins change #and YESTERDAY i was reading a book at the check out desk because of a DIFFERNT change in our department #bc we used to check books in at the desk too. but for some reason we stopped doing that a few months ago #so since then it's been terminally boring to work up there esp. since i work in the evening when there's less people at the library #but TODAY we got an email saying that we shouldn't be reading physical books up there #even though i keep my head on a swivel so that i can see when patrons come up #next thing you know he's gonna say we can't listen to music or ebooks at the drive up window. it's all horseshit. it not like i care though #whatever mike. you're bald anyway.#it feels passive aggressive to me. just pull me aside and say it to my face #and he said that it was a request from someone who works outside of our department so what the FUCK do they know about it #and i'm almost certain i know who it was. stupid as fuck. grrrr bark bark bark bark #i like my job i swear i like my job. but sometimes my job is stupid and it sucks.

i spent most of the day in bed and i'm kind of annoyed at myself because there was no need for it, it's just such a strong habit after a decade+ of hiding in my room that i feel compelled to go back to bed a lot and today i caved. :\ but whatever, tomorrow is a new day.

#i did go for a walk and checked my neighbours bins to see if they'd been emptied so i could bring them in bc they're away #so it's not a total loss of a day #and i read my book so i didn't spend all day on the internet so that's good too #but goddamnit :(

having middle of the night thoughts about how i just cannot enjoy media that is bad anymore, whether it's books or tv shows or whatever there has to be some level of quality to the writing/execution etc for me to enjoy it. like honestly i think the quality of a piece of media is a big part of my enjoyment of it. there used to be a time when i could just consume vast quantities of any old shit but increasingly i do need stuff to actually just be good. i can't even appreciate stuff for 'so bad it's good' reasons because honestly i could just watch or read something that is actually legitimately good

#im most brutal about this when it comes to books #like when i was younger i mainlined a lot of terrible books and now #well i have a developed sense of taste and i have less time on this planet and i don't want to spend it reading shit #if i think a book is bad i just bin it now it's not worth it to finish #and im so MUCH pickier about what i read now #like you just cannot have good plotting and characterisation and all that if the writing is bad #because those things are created by the writing #so like what's the point of reading anything that's badly written???#there is none!

#one is a Bildungsroman About The Internet (tm) which i mostly picked up bcos im easily excited by the second person perspective #one is a local short story collection #and the last one is maus by art spiegelman #never been to this library but its so cute and cozy and nice. theyve a little bin of free period products in the ya section #and theres a big thing of like local community fliers n shit :)#ive not looked in the kids section but that also looks awesome. they have a board game shelf!!!#and there was a kid earlier who was enthralled by the spinning book display so i spun it for him :)#i heart being a real human person
