MTG x Final Fantasy Card Discussion (Pt. 2.5 - Tifa, Martial Artist)

Hello! It is 3rd of May, which means it is Tifa Lockhart's birthday! For this occasion, we also got her card revealed. Specifically, we got her card in the FF7 Limit Break commander deck precon revealed as the alternative commander. This will be a short post, but let's talk about her.

So there is Tifa Lockhart, the most popular female Final Fantasy character. Let's quickly discuss the colors: yeah, they fit. I'd say she is more Green/White with a splash of Red, but that still makes Red/Green/White, so that's kind of a moot point. There is an argument Blue should be somewhere in there, with how she is more reflective and standoff-ish about her own feelings, but the chosen colors feel appropriate enough. Anyway, a 4 mana 4/4 is right on rate, so that's good. Aside from that, her abilities are:

Melee, which gives her a +1/+1 for every opponent you attack if you attack with her, so to +3/+3 in your average commander game if you have 2 other creatures attacking and attack all your opponents. At minimum, she's a 5/5 whenever she attacks. At most, she's a 7/7 whenever she attacks. This is quite good, makes her quite aggressive.

Whenever one or more creatures you control with 7 power or greater deal combat damage to a player, you untap all creatures you control and if it is the first combat phase of your turn, there is an additional combat phase after this phase. This... gets complicated. So, if you get Tifa to 7+ power alone via whatever means and she is able to deal combat damage to a player, she untaps all your creatures and you get an additional combat phase. However, if you get Tifa to 7+ power and have 2 other creatures of 7+ power attacking to all other players and they all deal combat damage to a player, you get the untap 3 times and the additional combat phase 3 times. This is because of how this ability is worded. In terms of programming terms (since I did study Software Development), this is like an if statement inside of an if statement. The ability will always trigger if you deal damage to a player with a creature of 7 power or greater, so if you do that 3 times, you trigger the ability 3 times. Then, as part of the same trigger, it checks if it is your first combat phase of the turn and if so, gives you an extra combat phase. Because that trigger is on the stack 3 times, supposedly during your first combat phase, it gives you 3 extra combat phases. EVEN MORE SO, because this is tied to you dealing combat damage to a player, giving all the creatures of 7+ power double strike does in fact also double the triggers, meaning you'd get a potential 6 extra combat phases. Also 6 extra untaps, but that's relatively minor unless you have tap abilities to tap your creatures you can use between triggers.

So uh... what the f**k is the trend with these alternative commanders? Celes goes infinite with Persist and Tifa can potentially give you 6 extra combat steps, 3 if you are being more reasonable? All the main commanders looked relatively chill, why do the alternative commanders have 0 chill?

Anyway, my review of the card is that it is currently the clear winner of the commanders revealed for this deck. It's insane and the fact that it is Red/Green/White makes it so much scarier, since you can just slap this into a big dinosaur deck and go crazy with extra turns. This card will be expensive to get most likely. This is definitely a "remove it or die" type commander when the player controlling her can put any type of evasion on their creatures, like Trample, Menace or Flying, all not too uncommon in the colors chosen for her. At least Celes breaks 1 very specific mechanic, Tifa just breaks having any big creatures on the field.

As for the art. Credit to Yumi Yaoshida. Link to their Twitter. Hmm... I don't love this. She herself looks great, the background is phenomenal, but all the cinders/sparks? They make this art quite cluttered. This is definitely a decision I wholeheartedly disagree with, the sparks just make the art lesser. I'm also confused, if the sparks are something you want to show, why not show what they came from? We're now just looking at Tifa... Also also, I do notice how muted that red on her glove is. Not a fan, should be higher contrast in my opinion. Still good art, just not a slam dunk.

I'm still not over the blank backgrounds, even though I do think this is the second best use of it, but the art itself is great. All the details are on point, she is looking sharp, a good in-character pose, even if it is a bit duller than I'd hope for. This is great, easily now battling against Tidus, Yuna's Guardian normal art and Celes, Rune Knight alternative art.

Chisato Moritaka is a very talented Japanese pop singer from the late 80's and mid 90's. Not only does she sing but also plays a variety of instruments such as piano, guitar, and drums. This 2-disc set features music videos, interviews, mini-games, TV ads, discography, and more based on two of her albums Watarasebashi and Lala Sunshine. In total, there are 74 minutes of video on these two discs presented in CRI's MPEG Sofdec which is also used on the Dreamcast. The codec version used on this Saturn game is older than that of the Dreamcast but it still provides some very good-looking FMV with the Video CD card installed and the same quality FMV boxed with a lower frame rate without the Video CD card installed.

Thoughts On An Indie Game I've been playing....

So, for anyone who likes indie games, lewd games, and lewd indie games... I present to you, 'Evalia: The Lust Kingdom'.

It's a genuine sandbox style game made using the Ren'Py game making software. Y'know, the one optimized and spec'd out for making visual novels and adventure games.

You are thrust into the role the fully (insofar as the options will allow at least) customizable and recently, seemingly randomly handpicked, monarch of the floating island city-state of Evalia. A very, VERY sex positive kingdom.

You are free to interact with any NPC you like, engage in the day to day politicking of court sessions to build rep with the various factions that make up Evalia, build relationships with whomever you take a fancy too, work to solve the many secrets eValia has hidden underneath the surface(though, admittedly, the narrative has taken a backseat after the initial polt hooks get laid down for the sake of building up a solid feature rich gameplay loopfoundation), explore the various areas of your kingdom, and shape jsut what kind of place you want it to be.

Not only is it your PC and relationships you have control over to customize, but the very makeup of the kingdom's populace too!

Ever dreamed of having a whole harem of women to yourself? Well, now you can!

Want an island full of doods instead? Sure thing!

Futas? Why the hell not?

Mix and match? All good!

It's your kingdom after all, so go nuts.

As for myself, well... I'm very much into roleplaying, so I just filled it with women and futas bc, well... isolated island floating in the sky... so, the odd foreign traffic aside, them babies and population replacement rate gotta come from somewhere, right?

Point is, it's up to you.

It's a game that has... a LOT of potential and has come a long way fro a game that's being developed by just one person... Everything from the coding to the art assets!. All just one guy in their free time!

I respect that so much and I use devs like them inspiration and a goal to strive for in my own creative aspirations.

I even subbed to show my support.

Gives me early access and voting rights, so yeah... worth it.

The dev is pretty responsive on the sites they're on but don't yet have a discord... which kinda sucks but, y'know... life.

Potential aside, it's a very ambitious project that will take a long time before it's done... Like, for example, 'The Last Sovereign' by Sierra Lee? That masterpiece of an indie game has been in the works for over a decade! So worth it though! A damn fine game in its own right!

...but I digress.

As for suggestions I've made, which the dev has confirmed an interest in adding at some point include, but are likely not limited too, magic to change genders of yourself and other characters, including other important NPCs, of which is gender balanced for plot purposes, which is fine... but I WANT MY HAREM DAMMIT!

more complex factional politicking both at home and with other nations, more interactive sex, combat, and exploration mechanics, and kinds... oh the kinks!

...Given my own preferences, you can bet your ass I asked if incest/inbreeding would be a viable suggestion... and y'know what? They were totally okay with adding such kinds in and even said that was already in the cards, just a matter of 'when, not if' kinda thing.

Made me pretty happy.

Now, to those who may not be as big into the indie lewd games or mod community... incest is both surprisingly popular and prevalent.

Naturally, degrees vary on how much that content has importance in the plot or is just a kink.

I'm personally fine with either bc, well, all publicity is good publicity in cases like this. Getting ppl to be comfortable with the idea as 'normal' or at least acceptable, is kinda the point here.... regardless of how much it actually exists already despite the 'common sense' of the present day.

Look up them stats. They will surprise you with how not uncommon it actually is. Remember, 8 billion ppl and all that.

But, in the land of fiction and entertainment, it's a good place to really explore those sides of yourself without all the stigma... unless, y'know, you gotta deal with judgmental pricks. I mean, we do, tbf, but fiction is fiction, so getting offended by fiction is just stupid... and honestly makes you look weirder than the ppl who like that fiction in my book.

Anyway, it's a game I recommend trying and keeping an eye on.

Another game I find myself liking is Lust n Farm.

It's more of a focused narrative sandbox/farming sim lite/harem builder, but it is very much an incest romance that, to the dev's credit and shameless lewding aside, is attempting to build a compelling narrative around.

It's got plenty of flaws and is buggy as hell, but it's another one that has a LOT of potential, isn't afraid to explore taboos, and has a decent foundation to work with.

Honestly, I'm a sucker for isolated city settings and interconnected harem building stories, so win-win.

Maybe I'll talk more about that game since I really do think it's good for what it is and who it's aimed at.

And yes, as an incest romance that at least is attempting to take itself seriously for the world it's set in, pregnancies are actual kinda plot integral here.

Made me actually rethink my view on one of the heroines/older sisters.

Project 1 - Project Proposal

1. Overall

Everyone is concerned about their health status. With the development of smart bracelet products, the detection of user health status is becoming more and more accurate. However, most of the current health management software is still at the stage of data detection and presentation, and the sports courses provided in the software are simply listed, lacking pertinence and adaptability. (1) Single data presentation function

The most important top card on the platform homepage only presents the number of steps, calories burned and exercise time. If you want to view other data, you need to pull down to the corresponding module to view it. The user experience can be optimized.

■ Dorm Life

While living in the student dormitory, you can spend time with friends in the common areas. Together, you can cook, study for tests, read books, watch movies, tend to a rooftop vegetable garden, and more! Doing so can raise your Social Stats and teach your friends passive skills called Combat Characteristics, which you’re sure to find useful.

By experiencing dorm life together, the Protagonist and his friends will grow as people. As these bonds grow stronger, they may reveal new sides of themselves.

Public Computer

You can use the public computer in the dormitory lounge to study with software or gather intel. In addition to raising Social Stats, you may also learn useful skills for combat and exploration.

Acquire Special Characteristics

When you spend time in the dorm with fellow students, they may acquire special Characteristics with effects like increased critical attack rate, reduced cost for healing skills, and more. These are sure to come in handy during battle, so try to make time for your friends.

■ Schoolmates

Through student life at Gekkoukan High School and being a member of SEES, you’ll get to know all kinds of people. These bonds are called Social Links, and by raising their ranks you can experience special scenes with them. You’ll be able to find a number of fellow students to hang out with after school hours. Interacting with them will also strengthen your Persona abilities, so be proactive in building these relationships! For this remake, Social Link characters have received all-new portrait illustrations, and their scenes are now fully voice acted.

Classmate: Kenji Tomochika (voiced by Joe Zieja in English, Wataru Hatano in Japanese)

A second-year at Gekkoukan High—one of your classmates. A good friend of Junpei’s who wastes no time asserting himself as your friend as well. He professes his love for older women and soon turns to you for advice on dating.

A third-year at Gekkoukan High known as the Gourmet King. He has toured restaurants all over Minato Ward, eating everything on the menu—including secret menus. He appoints you as his bodyguard after helping him escape a dispute with a shadowy figure.

Track and Field: Kazushi Miyamoto (voiced by Mark Whitten in English, Eiji Miyashita in Japanese)

A second-year at Gekkoukan High—one of your classmates and a fellow member of the track and field team. He’s a star athlete who has ranked highly in competitions thanks to his hard work, spirit, and perseverance. He recognizes you as a worthy rival who can go toe-to-toe with him.

Track and Field Manager: Yuko Nishiwaki (voiced by Shelby Young in English, Emiri Katou in Japanese)

A second-year at Gekkoukan High and the manager of the track and field team. She’s childhood friends with fellow track team member Kazushi, referring to him by the friendly nickname “Kaz.” Kind and caring, she watches over you as a new member of the team.

Student Council: Hidetoshi Odagiri (voiced by Austin Lee Matthews in English, Masaya Matsukaze in Japanese)

A second-year at Gekkoukan High, vice president of the student council and head of the Disciplinary Committee. He’s known for his ruthless enforcement of rules, earning him the ire of the other students. Once you join the student council on Mitsuru’s recommendation, he seems to take an interest in you.

A first-year at Gekkoukan High and treasurer of the student council. She tends to have trouble expressing herself to others, and is particularly uncomfortable around men. Overcoming this struggle is at the top of her mind.

A third-year at Gekkoukan High and head of the art club, where the two of you meet. As the son of a doctor, those around him believe he will follow in his father’s footsteps—but he himself is torn between medical school and arts study abroad.

Foreign Exchange Student: Bebe (voiced by Jeff Berg in English, Mitsuhiro Ichiki in Japanese)

His real name is André Laurent Jean Geraux. An exchange student from France who loves and admires Japan, from kimonos to historical dramas to Japanese gardens. After the two of you meet, he encourages you to join him in the fashion club.
