Thanks, everyone, for all the prompts and ideas you’ve sent since I made that last post! I am considering them and seeing what I can come up with.

If I don’t reply to your ask, that doesn’t mean I won’t eventually write for that prompt, and if I don’t choose your prompt, that doesn’t mean I didn’t like it! I just might not be able to think of anything for it.

Also, because my brain is clearly broken, receiving all these prompts put a completely unrelated idea in my head that I started working on. It’s probably going to be the first fic I post directly on tumblr, because I don’t anticipate it being long enough to post on ao3 (famous last words…)

I’m also still working on the sequel to Are You Flagging, slowly but surely. So you have that to look forward to…someday. I am not going to start posting it until at least the rough draft is done. But it’s getting there!

ooh fun question!! admittedly I haven't read all that many, but I've bookmarked a lot I haven't gotten to yet so I definitely have a lot of fics to look forward to in the new year! also all ship fics oops

top 5 fave fics I've read (no particular order):

1) baby, we're perfect by bookinit

ooohhh my gosh I could say so much about this one!! it's like my favorite byler fic atm it's so so so good. sad, but good and I highly recommend it! the way it's paced is perfect and has a bittersweet ending, very affective twist, and ugh it's just amazing (I'm not even a big angst person but I think its done so perfectly (ha) here that I didn't mind how much it crushed my heart)

2) Gitchi-Gitchi Ya-Ya Da-Da by raedafan

okay I know the title seems silly but this fic is actually so cute and I'm a sucker for the "byler gets murray'd" premise lol also I feel like this one is a bit of a "classic" I see it recommended it a lot

3) im tearing you asunder by smoosnoom

admittedly it's been a bit since I read this one so not much to say but I remember really liking it! plus like all of smoosnoom's work is great imo

4) love my way (a new road) by oneirois

something not byler this time, but steddie!! I read this months ago but I love it a lot and I think its a cute little slow burn ♡ (warning this one is Explicit in the last chapter!)

5) honey-mouthed by smoosnoom

this one is so incredibly sweet and mike's pov is SO fun to read, the author does an amazing job characterizing him (def recommend if you wanna read mike gay panic for like 10k words lmao)

like I said I haven't read many ST fics yet but im hoping to in the new year! speaking of..

I KNOW I still haven't read this but seeing all the buzz makes me super curious so it's been in my bookmarks forever oops but I will get to it !! curious to see if it lives up to the hype and I think AUs are super fun so definitely curious to see how this one plays out

2) who am i (to ask for more) by bookinit

the premise interests me and I love this person's work so I'm excited to finally get to this one

3) Are You Flagging? by soidade

another popular fic, but steddie this time and I've heard a lot of good things about this one! also another fic that's been bookmarked since forever

4) mike wheeler's guide to falling in love with a superhero by smoosnoom

spiderman au!!!!! I'm so excited about this one and I can't wait to read it omg omg

5) with honor, we hound by hiscleric

a byler fantasy au!!! this one is very new as well so I'm looking forward to reading along as it updates ♡ (also if anyone has other fantasy/DnD au fics to recommend pls lmk I'd love to read them!)

the tv tropes entry for goncharov (1973) is pretty interesting since it's obviously referencing the heavily edited tv version

katya wouldn't be just a 'mysterious woman' if they hadn't censored her relationship with sofia, despite how essential it is to the film. hope the resurgence of interest will highlight the misrepresentation that tanked its box office success in the first place

Request for prompts!

Hi everyone!

I was in a bit of a writing slump for a while but have found that the best way for me to get writing is to just keep the momentum going!

I have been working on some stuff, but none of it is ready to post, so I would really like to write some stuff that I can show all of you sooner!

I am a little short on ideas (other than the long form ones I am working on slowly) so I would love to get some prompts in my asks!

I’m going to keep the prompt responses quite short, and try not to worry too much about editing them to death, because I get stuck on that.

Prompts can be about ships, individual characters, or whatever you are interested in seeing! I prefer not to do AU stuff, and I’d like to keep it SFW (for now…maybe I’ll get less shy when I do more prompts.)

That was an unnecessarily long explanation, but the short version is: prompts, please!

I am taking a break from fanfic for a while to work on some original fiction. Of course, now that I say that, I’ll probably get some fanfic idea and get fixated on that instead. We’ll see.

If said original fiction gets to a point that it is suitable for public consumption, I may ask if anyone is willing to beta read it before I do whatever I end up doing with it. This won’t be for at least a month, but I am curious if anyone who has enjoyed my fic would be remotely interested in reading stuff that isn’t based on other media.

Hi, I just reached a (small but respectable) follower milestone so I just wanted to tell everyone that I am friendly and I want to talk to you. Please feel free to send me asks or messages, reblog my posts with comments, or whatever level of interaction you’re comfortable with. I am in fandom to have a good time and make friends, and whenever I get a nice response to my fic, or a post about one of my WIPs, or an ask game or anything, it makes me want to post more! If I participate in the Eddie Big Bang...what should I write?? I really want to post the Are You Flagging? sequel chapter by chapter, so it would not be a good fit for the challenge, but I don’t have any Eddie-centric ideas other than that on my list at the moment. Anyone have anything they would really enjoy seeing me write?

I have written the ending of my next fic. I am not anywhere near done with it; I just write massively out of order. I think I’m funny, and @toedenandbackagain thinks I’m funny, so hopefully all of you will think I’m funny when the time comes to post this.

I am getting close to a follower milestone! Not a huge one, but I’m glad so many people are interested in keeping up with what I’m doing. I was thinking of posting either a longer excerpt from one of my fics or some kind of drabble written specifically for the occasion (assuming I actually meet that follower milestone…I only need 6 more!) What do you all think? Any preference? Any thoughts for something short I could write or an excerpt you’d like to see?
