Annabeth is definitely drunk.

“I’m not drunk!” she giggles, swaying her hips. She reaches out for Piper, those ridiculous grabby hands of hers, and Piper has no choice but to take them, does she. Annabeth spins her without a second thought, a twirl to the peppy song blaring from the bar speakers.

“What even is this?” Piper asks. She doesn’t react when Annabeth’s hands settles on her hips, just above the waist of her jeans. She doesn’t want to press into the warmth. She doesn’t. “Country?”

“Country music is good if it’s good,” Annabeth says, like it means anything, and she starts singing along. “Annabeth and Piper were the best of friends, all through their demigod days!” The made up lyrics drop off quickly, and Piper begins to get. Well, mildly concerned and more than mildly interested are the only things she can come up with as Annabeth’s fingers slowly start to climb up her sides. She can’t, doesn’t want, to focus on anything else.

“Dude, is this song about domestic abuse?” Piper yells over the music.

“Yeah, but it has a happy ending,” Annabeth yells back. “The team up and kill the abuser and, like, start a shop together.”

Annabeth twirls Piper. The room practically sparkles around her, and it’s all she can do not to spill the drink in her hand. In order to keep pace with Annabeth, she decides to drain it, throwing back the rum and Coke like it’s something she does on a daily basis, and turns back to Annabeth.

It strikes her, rather suddenly, just how beautiful her best friend is. Curly, blonde hair, bright eyes, a grin like she knows something she shouldn’t.

Oh, fuck.

“Annabeth,” Piper says, trying not to lock her eyes on the way Annabeth’s tongue dances across her lips, “um, you good?”

“Yeah,” she says, grinning down at Piper. Grinning down. How did Piper never realize how much height she has on her? “So good.”

“You, uh.” Piper swallows. When did her mouth get so dry? “You drunk?”

Annabeth considers it, shrugs. “A little. But not, like,” her grin has something behind it, something new, “not so much that I can’t make my own decisions.”

Piper exhales, something shaky. “Yeah?”

Annabeth licks her lips again, something Piper can’t take her eyes from, but it’s a little more inquisitive this time, the kind of look she gets when she’s working through a challenge. Looking at Piper like she’s a problem she’s planning to solve. “You gonna freak out if I kiss you?” And that’s how Annabeth would ask, isn’t it? The question hidden in the reaction of another, like her decision is inevitable and the only thing standing in its way is the subject of the experiment.

Piper shudders. Suddenly, she is desperate to be the experiment. “No.”

When Annabeth kisses her, Piper feels the world and her worries float away. And, maybe, none of this has been friendship on its own the whole time.

Maybe she’s been in love.

What fic do you think best shows your style of writing?

this is such an interesting question! i partly don’t know at all because i like to experiment a lot and i do like to think that sort of experimentation is a part of my style

with that being said i do feel like i really grew into my own with metamorphosis in terms of multichapter writing, and i feel like i was able to do a lot with the structure and feel of it. however, im obviously not always writing multichapters, and i do think i have a different sort of style for shorter fics which i think shows through in stuff like the definition of insanity or doa that relies on snippet-y sections that kind of blur the lines between time, character, and emotions

but honestly i don’t know! i feel like everyone else would be able to say what’s me better than i can :”)

Look we all knew that stranger things was gonna tank after season 1. I don't remember a whole season. And honestly I'm not even sure if it was s2 or s3. The only thing keeping the show alive is that GoT is over and a couple of the actors. Mostly Winona

BY WHICH I MEAN. season 1 was a really tight piece of storytelling with a clear narrative arc and coherent message and theme. season 2 managed to ride those coattails by introducing a few new characters and expanding on the fan favorite characters from season 1. by season 3 the cracks started to show. season 4 they tried to expand the scope beyond the context and many of the characters lost sight of what made them originally compelling (MIKE!!!!! RACHEL BERRY!!!!)

lets hope they can course correct though... i feel like with stranger things its more like they wrote themselves into a corner and they cant quite figure out what to do, whereas with glee there was no corner to write themselves into they were just....... going off the rails completely (its not a perfect analog its just that whenever a show has a perfect first season and then it starts going insane i have to bring up glee) ((also they are both shows that skyrocketed to unexpected success and i think the writers weren't necessarily prepared to have all eyes on them immediately following the initial release OK I AM DONE))

What fic do you think best sums up your style as a writer?

holy shit this is a tough one. UH.

i feel like this question should be divided based on what i consider my style as? but then i'm looking through all my fics and the same one keeps standing out to me when i think about my style of writing. my style always, always, includes some sort of comedic element - whether it be sarcasm, or something genuinely funny. or, at least, i try to be funny. i find myself laughing when i read back. i don't know whether anyone else finds it funny. but i ALSO have a tendency to write more than i really need to write - i could get a prompt that only requires 3k words max and i could make it a multi-chapter fic.

which brings me to holiday mishaps. i wrote it last year (2021), but i think the only thing that's changed about my writing since then is the fact that i'm not writing action as much - i'm writing more fluff, more romance. i'm going a lot softer than i used to. still with the hints of comedy, or attempted hints, but that fic encapsulates a lot: the slight comedy, the attempt at drama and a lil bit of angst, nice chonky paragraphs of description and setting the scene. i would say that that fic is the first of my official new era of writing - oneshots and fun shorter projects that don't require a whole lot of planning, where i'm free to write as much or as little as i want and am not pushing myself or limiting myself to a word quota.

anyway, that fic had light comedic elements mixed in with drama and action and an exhausted sarcastic teenager (i love alex rider) and was an easy prompt that i turned into a 5-chapter, 30k fic when i'd originally told myself that 10k would ABSOLUTELY be my limit.

Prompt for the wrestling AU: Percy and Annabeth smack talking about each other during an interview but it quickly devolves into flirting

A snippet sneaky peeky at my PJO Wrestling AU for Monsieur Daniel @son-of-rome! Note: this is still VERY MUCH in the drafting stage!

They reach the interview room, and Percy immediately stretches out, leaning back, playing for the cameras. He nods at Silena. “What’s up?”

Silena gives Annabeth the tiniest of nods: the cameras area already on.

“Let’s just get this over with,” she sighs, camera voice on. “What do you want, Silena?”

“Well, after that incident after last week’s show,” Silena says, leaning toward Annabeth, “you ran out and attacked Percy after his match with Ethan Nakamura.”

Annabeth shrugs. “Nakamura’s a good kid. He and Piper are friends.”

Silena raises an eyebrow. “Wisdom, you’ve been on the record saying you’re here for no one but yourself. Are you showing a soft spot?”

Annabeth laughs, but, before she can [???]

“There’s quite the competition between the two of you,” Silena says, looking prim as ever. Annabeth has to remember to ask her what she does to make her hair curl correctly. “Have you considered an intergender match?”

Annabeth scoffs. “Please. I’d flatten him in a second.”

“Uh, excuse me,” Percy says, turning to her. “You wish.”

Annabeth leans forward, elbows on her knees. “Maybe I do.” She tilts her head to the side. “Or maybe you’re just desperate to get pinned.”

He grins, wide, tossing his head back. “From you? You really think you could pin me.”

“Maybe you’re right,” Annabeth says, sitting back and crossing her legs. “Maybe I’ll just get you to submit to me.” She returns his grin when he sits back up, locking eyes with her. “Make you tap out.” She narrows her eyes. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you.”

“Okay,” Silena says, laughing a little. “Sounds to me like a match is in order. We’ll have to contact additional personnel but, Annabeth, as an executive vice president, you can book a match. What do you say?”

Annabeth doesn’t move her eyes from the startling green of Percy’s. “You’re on.”
