i cannot relate to the song 'going to georgia' by tmg at all but when roy and i used to live in our other apartment and i was alone i would BELT along to it like it was my life story. when i listen to it now, years later, i still have the urge to go absolutely off the rails with it. were my partner not trying to take a nap upstairs i'd be frying my vocal chords atm. again there's no explanation for this phenomenon but i'm going to call the lab and see what they have to say. it's not even, like, my favorite song by them goats but it does something inexplicable to my brain.

Arthdal Chronicles

The first season of this fantasy story hits close to home. It depicts the cruelty and greed of villages that have the resources, food and technology to take advantage of others. The story doesn't waist time, the first episode starts with the Arthdal leaders asking the Neanthals to become part of their power. The Arthdal are afraid of the peaceful but strong Neanthals and pretend to negotiate, knowing they are not interested. And what do they do? The Arthdal leaders trick their own people and kill the Neanthals in order to take their lands. Asa Hon learns this when she is in the middle of the attack, and in order to safe Neanthal children, she leaves with a child and Ragaz, with whom she later has children with.

Arthdal continues to annihilate weaker villages, taking them as slaves for hard labor. It is Tagon, an Itgu in hiding, that makes all this possible for Arthdal. And even though he is loved by the village as a hero, his father and other leaders are trying to find ways of killing him, including making Mihol's daughter, Teaelha, into a spy. Even though Tagon is cruel, there is an innocence to his longing to be loved and accepted by the people. His relationship with Teaelha is of a love stronger than their ties to their families and interests. And even though we don't like what he does, some times we do wish him success in his endeavors and fight against the Arthdal leaders for power.

But it is the story of the Wahan Tribe that reminds us that Tagon and all Arthdal are cruel and greedy people that have no respect for others. This is a peaceful tribe in a far away land. They are more like Neanthals in their believes but they are also prejudice against Itgus like Eunseom, whose mother leaves him there before she dies. Eunseom's only true friend is Tanya, the daughter of the priestess and scientist of the village.

It is almost impossible to reach the place but Tagon and the Arthdal leaders find the way to reach the land, it takes them 10 years to reach it and less time to destroy it and take its people as prisoners and slaves. Here we see the struggle of these people who get separated, sold into slavery and fight with each other and their enslavers in order to survive. But it also shows the Wahan people mesmerized by the innovations and way of life in this civilized village.

Tanya ties Eunseom to her by naming him her dream and he will do anything to save her, but destiny takes them into two different paths. These two characters are also very naive, their innocence and sense of justice is what makes others follow them. They both want to forge a world where everyone is equal, no prejudice against people that are different, everyone on equal standing.

Tanya's relationship with Saya is a sad one at best. She is using Saya while Saya genuinely likes her. And even though, at some point she sees him as a friend and cares about him, she still uses his affection towards her. But she is not the only one using Saya, so is Tagon who separated him from his mother when he was a child and Teaelha who became his caregiver for Tagon. Still, Saya is not stupid and he knows how to play the game.

This first half ends with the downfall of the rule of the Arthdal leaders: Daekan, White Mountain, and Hae tribes; giving way to Tagon's rule under the name of Aramun; which damages the relationship he had with Teaelha. Tanya is now the high priest while Eunseom becomes a god for the Ago tribe and starts unifying weak tribes to end fights among them and focus on fighting against their common oppressor.

The second season starts 8 years after the final events of the first one. And the fighting is no longer centered on colonialism, but on taking down a threatening force that is not letting them continue with their expansion of territories. I have heard of people wondering why the change of actors for critical characters. I wouldn't have minded seeing the same actors since they are excellent ones and we got used to them. But I didn't mind the changes, I think that these new actors, brought some darkness to the characters that had been innocent and naive in the first season. They have learned to play the game and they are using what they have learned for their gain.

Tagon and Teaelha are no longer the close couple they had been, but they still love each other and have a son that unites them. Theirs is a tragic and powerful love story, tainted by the struggle for power.

In this half, we see Tagon's fall, and the rise of the ideology that drove Tanya and Eunseom into battle. But we are left with an open ending that promises more blood and restlessness. Saya wants Arthdal for his own since he can't have Tanya's love; and Teaelha wants to take Arthdal back as she promised Tagon; while Eunseom struggles to make Arthdal the land he and Tanya had envisioned.

It is the bloody story of a civilization in this fantasy world that reflects the truth about the history of our world so full of tyranny, blood and inequality.

It is not a story with clear lines and we will switch sides as their goals become twisted, but so is the story of rulers in the past and the present. This is a fantasy story, but it also criticizes what makes a country a country - it's bloody history of greedy men.

Don't mind me. Just organizing my scattered ChoiBaek thoughts in this AU. Will probably change/add more later. Inspired by conversations with @manawari (Tried to make it in chronological order) When Jongin started falling for Yoonho: - Seeing him perform on stage for the first time - Seeing him be soft with the other members - When Yoonho helped him with a workout routine without mocking him despite Jongin being the weakest member in the group - Eating the food Yoonho made for him for the first time (Fell for Yoonho after about 2 months) - (Asked Byung-gyu and Gun-Hee for advice)

“Alright, alright, c’mon, we gotta go back home. It’s getting late. Papa will be home.” You said, looking down at your daughter as you held hee hand.

“Yay!!” She said, and smiled.

You didn’t actually know if he’d actually be home, but it was the only way she would listen. She loved you, of course she did, but she really loved her dad.

“Mama, you don’t need to hold my hand. I’m a big girl.” She huffed. She was only 6, growing up too quick.

“Alright then, big girl.” You let go of her hand as you guys walked towards the apartment.

Once you reached it, you opened the door and Gabriella walked inside first, you shut the door and looked around the apartment. He wasn’t here.

You frowned, and sighed.

“Mama, I thought you said that Papa would be here…?” She looked at you.

“He’ll be back soon-“ as soon as you said the words, the door opened behind you. He carried a bag of groceries in with him.

“Papa!” She yelled, running up to him with a huge smile. Her growing fangs on display.

He smiled at her tiredly, picking her up. “Someone’s happy.” He laughed and kissed her forehead.

“And look at that, your fangs are growing.” He said, looking at her teeth.

“They are, and soon I’ll be just like you daddy.” She giggled as she got put down on the floor.

“Look what I got..” he pulled out a tub of ice cream, looking at you and back at Gabriella with a smirk.

He smiled and turned to leave the room. You were waiting outside the door.

You both went into your guy’s room, and slipped out of your clothes and into pajamas, which was sweatpants and an old t-shirt for him.

You both went into the bed, and talked for a while. Laughing and just enjoying each other.

“Goodnight, my love.” He mumbled.

“Goodnight.” You kissed him, and you soon fell asleep.

The rain pounded on the window outside, the man holding Gabriella held a gun to her head. You cried and begged for him to stop, as the other man held his arms around your neck.

“One step and I’ll shoot her.” He said, looking at Miguel. Miguel looked at you and then back at his daughter.

He looked back at Gabi, eyes red under his mask, and fangs full on showing. He ran over to her, when a loud ‘bang!’ Was heard.

All you could see was Miguel scream “Gabi!” And then run after the man, before you woke up.

You quickly sat up, looking around and breathing heavily.

Miguel was still sleeping, and you had to just look. Just in case.

You quietly walked out to your daughters room. Heart thumping against your chest. What if the dream was a sign? What if she really isn’t there? You peeked into the door, and she was still there. Thank god.

You sighed in relief and went back to the room. Miguel started to stir when you went back into the bed. You sat up and stared at the wall for a while, just thinking. It was just a dream, but still, it could be real.

“Y/n.. What’s wrong..?” He mumbled in a raspy voice when he stirred awake, and looked at you. You looked at him.

“Nothing. I just had a dream.” You mumbled, and laid down again.

He put his arm up, and leaned his head against it.

“What’s wrong?”

“It’s just… in the dream.. Some guy had Gabi, and then he..”

“Oh.”

“Yeah.”

“But Gabi’s still here, isn’t she?”

“Yeah…”

“Exactly. She’s fine, and she will be fine. I’ll always be here to protect the both of you, and i’d never let anything happen to you.”

“Promise..?”

“Promise.” He smiled at you, and grabbed your cheeks, you both kissed.

“Now go back to sleep. Love you.” He said, laying down again.

Bradley and Jake just had arrived home not speaking to each other after work stressed out to the max. Jake had done a particularly stupid dangerous move when they were teaching some new students at Top Gun.

Jake's engines had gone out after he hit his brakes to invade a student and was going down when he got them up and going again at the last possible second. Bradley was listening to the whole thing and saw the whole thing since he too were up in the air. The class finished after that and everyone was dismissed for the day. Jake and Bradley packed their stuff up and headed home. Jake tried to speak to Bradley but got nothing. They arrived at their apartment and Bradley shut off the Bronco's engine still not saying anything, they got their stuff and headed inside.

Once inside it was silent Jake unlaced his boots and took them off but Bradley did not. He was fuming and it only got worse when Jake spoke.

"Ok. What is up with you? You haven't said a word since before we went up in the air." Jake asked Bradley. Bradley stood there before answering.

"What you did was reckless and you could've ended up hurt." Bradley said not moving. Jake scoffed which made Bradley frown.

"I saved it at the end. Everything worked out." Jake replied moving around the kitchen but yet Bradley stayed unmoving.

"Jake you're not getting it. I could've lost you today." Bradley said moving his arms to cross over his chest.

"But you didn't and I'm fine nothing happened." Jake said giving off his famous smirk but it fell when he saw Bradley's face.

"You're still not getting it. I've may have signed up for your cockiness but I did not sign up for recklessness. I've lost my dad and almost lost Maverick, I couldn't bare to lose you. I love you Jake I really do but I can't be with you if you're like this." Bradley said breaking his own heart.

"Fine if you don't want to be with me then leave. I don't give a fuck. We're done." Jake said breaking his own heart. Bradley turned and walked to the door opened it and stormed out and got in his Bronco and drove The Hard Deck. Bradley was heartbroken and angry, he needed a drink or two or three or five.

Bradley had his fifth glass of beer in front of him and he was feeling tipsy. He wasn't paying attention to anyone until a pretty 20 something year old walked up to him, she too were tipsy. They talked and they flirted and then Bradley was taking her back to his apartment. Things got heated quickly.

The next morning he woke up with a splitting headache. He sat up and noticed a girl in his bed immediately everything came back to him. He got up and put as much distance as he could away from her. He loved Jake. He went to the kitchen and started coffee. The woman walked out of the bedroom fully clothed. They talked and decided to keep in touch, she really wasn't a bad person. They exchanged names and it turns out hee name is Allie.

The next week Allie texted Bradley saying that she was pregnant. She told him that she wasn't going to terminate the pregnancy but once the baby was born she was giving it to him. Bradley was shocked but understandable. He still absolutely loved Jake tho and nothing has changed that and nothing will change that.

9 months flew by, Allie had been staying with Bradley during that time, and now Bradley was a father to a healthy beautiful baby girl named Y/N Y/M/N Bradshaw, that looked identically to him. Allie gave up parental rights at the hospital.

Bradley took Y/N home and everything was great. He still thought about calling Jake but decided against it each time. Y/N was the perfect little angel for Bradley never giving him trouble. He didn't get in touch with Jake until Y/N was 2 years old. He hadn't talked with Jake or seen him for 2 years, he may have seen him in passing but never stopped to talk to him. It was killing him and what he didn't know was that is was killing Jake too.

Present Day

Bradley had Y/N with him at a coffee shop/bakery/ice cream parlor spending the day with his little girl, that just so happened to the same and favorite place of Jake and Bradley. He had Y/N's back facing the door so he saw everyone that came in. Jake was on his mind almost everyday, he guessed he wasn't over him as he thought.

There was a man that walked in he wore a khaki uniform and had the same build as Jake and from behind he could've been. Feelings for Jake came back full force. He wanted him back but knew that Jake would probably never talk to him. He practiced for hours what he was going to say to him but each time he went and dialed his number his fight or flight kicked in and the flight won. His mind was telling him not to call and to move on but his heart wanted something completely different.

Jake wasn't taking it much better he wanted Bradley. He missed him so much. It hurt when he sees him at work but they never talk and it kills him to hear his voice. It really was a stupid fight and a stupid move. If he could take it all back he would. Jake thought about calling Bradley but backed out each time too, when Bradley left it shattered him. He cried for hours and drank until he passed out and had the worst headache in the morning and now he limits the drinks he has. He wanted Bradley back.

Everyone could see that both men were miserable. But they kept insisting they were ok but weren't fooling people. It sometimes impacted their flying and even started to worry Maverick.

Bradley kept seeing him around and wanted to so badly walk up to him, say sorry and kiss the hell out of him, but refrained from doing so. He and Y/N visit that shop every Saturday it was a tradition of theirs and each time he saw someone that looked liked Jake. He couldn't stand it anymore so that night when Y/N was in bed he decided to call Jake and prayed that he would answer and by some miracle he did.

"Bradley." Jake said and his voice was music to Bradley's ears.

"Jake." Bradley said full of emotion. He wanted him back badly.

"It's late Bradley. What do you want?" Jake asked and Bradley could tell that he was holding emotions back and it was true. Jake hearing his voice melted his heart and made it state racing he truly loved that man.

"I know baby. I just have to get some stuff off my chest." Bradley said letting the nickname slip but neither corrected it.

"I think this should be done in person Bradley." Jake said and Bradley knew he was right.

"You're right." Bradley said and Jake was right. "Tomorrow at our place near the lake in the park?" He asked hesitated but answered.

"That would be perfect." Jake said

"Oh and Jake?" Bradley asked

"Yea?" He answered

"I have someone you should meet. Does 2 PM work?" Bradley asked and Jake could've sworn his heart dropped and a million thoughts running through his head. Did Bradley move on? Why does he want him to meet the person he moved onto? Was he engaged?

"Yes that works. Goodnight Bradley." Jake said and about said 'I love you' but stopped himself.

"I'm looking forward to it. Goodnight Jake." Bradley said and ended the phone call.

The next morning at 1:30 PM Bradley called Amelia, his babysitter, to meet him at the park. He explained to her what was happening. Amelia nodded and took Y/N to the playground while Bradley went and sat on the bench, his and Jake's bench, in front of the water and waited. Exactly at 2 PM Jake showed like he said he would. He went to where Bradley was and sat down. Bradley turned to look at him, he was in tight fitting jeans and a hoodie and his hair was messy, just like Bradley liked, and he was still handsome as ever.

"I'm here. What do you want to talk about and who do you want me to meet?" Jake said getting right to the point and turning to look at Bradley.

"I just want to say I'm sorry for storming out. I planned out what I was going to say. I'm just going to get the point. These past 2 years have killed me. I miss being with you. I miss hearing your voice. I miss waking up in your arms. I miss your lips. I miss you in general. It was a petty fight, I'm sorry. I know you may never forgive me but I can at least try to apologize and hope you'll forgive me. I want you back Jake. Baby I love you so much. I went to out coffee shop and I could've sworn I saw you but it was just someone that looked like you." Bradley said pouring his heart out into the speech and Jake could see tears forming he knew that he was being sincere. Jake stayed silent and Bradley knew this was a mistake he should've never contacted him. He was getting ready to get up when Jake stopped him with a hand on his thigh and that made Bradley stop.

"Bradley, babe." Jake began "You really did hurt me that night. I drank until I passed out and woke up with a massive hangover that morning. I forgive you but it's going to take time for us to be whole again. I miss you dearly. These past two years have been miserable. I want you back in my life. I hope that can happen. I love you Bradley." Jake finished "Can I kiss you?" He asked Bradley.

"Absolutely." Bradley said and they smashed their lips together. They only pulled apart when air was needed "I missed your lips." Bradley said.

"Now who is this person you want me to meet?" Jake said in return. Bradley smiled.

"I'll go and get her." Bradley said. Jake watched him walk to the playground and had a conversation with Amelia and he smiled when he saw her jump in glee and hug Bradley. He was glad they worked this out. He watched Bradley bid Amelia a goodbye and bent down to a child's height and spoke to a little girl and saw the little girl nod. Bradley picked her up and walked over to Jake. "Jake meet Y/N. Y/N meet Jake." He introduced them sitting her down in front of Jake. "She was part of a one night stand 2 years ago when I stormed out. I got tipsy and took a girl home and accidentally kncoked her up. She stayed with me until Y/N/N was born and gave up parental rights that day." Jake listened and nodded looking at Bradley. He smiled at her once Bradley was done talking, she was the exact copy and Bradley.

"Hi Y/N. I'm Jake." He introduced himself and the little girl grew shy.

"Hi." She said shyly and after a beat of silence "Are you going to be my daddy?" She asked and Jake and Bradley could've sworn their hearts melted. Jake smiled and looked at Bradley who was smiling.

"If you and your daddy will allow that." Jake said in a sweet tone. Y/N smiled and hugged him. He took that as a yes. He picked her up and hugged Bradley which turned into a kiss and only broke apart again when Y/N made a high pitched squeal.

"Eww!!" She screeched out and they looked at her and laughed.

"What little miss?" Bradley asked his daughter.

"Gross daddy, you have cooties now!" She said with disgusted look but they just laughed.

"Well I guess we'll just have to give you some." Jake said they started to tickle her throwing her into a fit of giggles and she squirmed to get down and took off running. They took off running after laughing and telling her that they were going to get her. Jake was the one to grab her and swing her up in the air kissing her. Bradley stood back and watched the scene. He was glad they were back together and that both of his loves liked each other.

Everything was going to be ok. Jake and Bradley were happy again. Now they can raise their daughter. They were going to be one happy family.

SUMMARY : everyone finds out the so-yeon gets hurt in the crash, worried about her, not realising y/n’s been hurt too.

(pretend the pants are black, school pants sweatpants whatevas)

( spoilers of episode 4 of duty after school !!! )

(lowkey a little bit angsty but u’ll be okay)

y/n looked at the front of the truck, seeing the two dead soldiers to maybe find an extra gun as jang-soo trailed behind them.

jang-soo went to y/n’s side, his side touching y/n’s which made him hold y/n’s hand out of instinct while looking at the dead soldiers, he sighed, looking at y/n.

“let’s go to the others, come on.”

jang-soo brought his free hand towards y/n’s head, bringing their body towards the direction of the group, who had started walking towards the direction of where chi-yeol saw the building.

jang-soo noticed the nearly unnoticeable limp while behind them in y/n’s walk towards the group, jang-soo squinted his eyes at the sight, holding their hand while holding his gun in the other hand.

“are you okay?”

y/n looked at jang-soo, squeezing his hand. y/n fought the pain in their ankle, someone’s bullet ended up grazing their leg while shooting the loose purple creature that had made the car crash in the first place.

“yeah, why do you ask?”

“.. just worried about you.”

jang-soo brought their hands up, kissing the back of y/n’s hand.

“tell me if you get hurt.”

“i won’t get hurt jang, don’t worry.”

in the span of two hours, they found the small building that chi-yeol had found, gathered supplies and helped so-yeon, settling down doing their own thing.

y/n sat down on the steps, noticing how everyone else was focusing on something else. y/n touched their wound underneath their pants, lifting up the material and hissing at the pain.

“fuck ..”

“what’s wrong?”

y/n quickly lifted their head, looking at jang-soo standing up beside them and starting to sit down beside them.

“oh nothing! it’s just hot.”

jang-soo nodded beside them, looking at them while his knees were up, his arms crossed into his knees while he stared at y/n, they started growing nervous at the stare of him.

“stop looking at me like that ..”

“why? you’re so pretty.”

y/n smiled at his words, their eyes darting from his eyes to his lips, scooting closer to him until their thighs were touching together and y/n could just lean in to kiss him.

“so pretty.”

jang-soo brought his head up, planting a hand behind their back on the concrete floor while the other was in his lap. y/m and him held eye contact together, until suddenly a scream was heard.

“help! a sphere!”

joon-hee was yelling, screaming for help while a small purple sphere chased her, everyone became alert, standing up quickly and running into the house.

jang-soo and y/n stood up, jang-soo stood infront of y/n.

“y/n get inside!”

he yelled, bring them to the door and yelling for everyone else to get in, waiting by the door.

the door was shut, getting barricaded with a table as everyone that stood in the room breathed heavy, panting nervously from the sphere.

“what do we do?”

they heard the sphere crawling around the roof, y/n was getting scared and their subconscious made them lean towards jang-soo, which made him hold their hand too quickly.

“it’s coming though the pipe!”

chi-yeol said, pointing at the pipe that came in through the roof as the group split up, majority of them going to another room and the minority going to where so-yeon was laying in.

eventually, they had made the plan to use the truck in the garage. chi-yeol had gotten out and used large pliers to pry open the iron bars that were locked on the window and everyone got out.

they were all in the garage, searching for the keys but hee-rak and so-yoon got into an argument, making the keys fling behind a heavy cabinet.

y/n sat on the floor, reaching for the keys as the guys tried to pull the cabinet to make room for y/n to get the keys, jang-soo leaned over y/n to see the distance between them and the keys, he leaned out, about to help with pulling the cabinet out but noticed the red trickling from their ankle as their pant leg went slightly up.

“fuck! i can’t do it!”

y/n whined, getting out as joon-hee attempted to get the keys as y/n got out of the way.

“y/n, are you hurt?”

y/n looked at jang-soo, who was already bent down and pulling up their pant leg to reveal their injury.

“jang-soo-“

“why didn’t you tell me?”

jang-soo’s worried face and tone filled y/n’s head, jang-soo stood up and held onto y/n’s hands, not focusing as young-shin discussed a plan on someone being left behind to be a sacrifice so everyone else could drive away safely.

jang-soo’s eyebrows were furrowed, his grip on their hands tightening as y/n couldn’t bring themselves to look away from jang-zoo’s gaze.

“it’s nothing, jang-soo.”

“you’re bleeding, baby.”

“y/n, jang-soo. come and pick sticks.”

the others were looking at the two of them, y/n and jang-soo picked two straws from the last three in the held bunch by young-shin, his arm held in the middle until y/n and jang-soo picked their sticks.

y/n could feel their stick short as they held in it in their hand as everyone revealed their stick but y/n, they held theirs out, revealing they was the one that was going to be the sacrifice.

“it’s me.”

“no it’s not.”

jang-soo took the stick from y/n’s hand, giving them his.

“jang-soo wait-”

“i’m not gonna let you die, y/n.”

jang-soo was already grabbing a large stick and the cover of the metal bin, walking back to y/n who was shaking their head.

“i got the short stick jang-soo, not you.”

“and i volunteer. i love you.”

jang-soo stood infront of y/n, their lips trembling and their eyes starting to water as y/n knew that there was no use trying to persuade jang-soo.

“but jang-soo..”

“i love you.”

y/n’s fist tightened by their side, not trying to think about the thought of jang-soo being gone.

“i love you more.”

jang-soo leaned in to kiss y/n softly, using one hand to hold the lid cover and the stick as he held their face with one hand, y/n tried to deepen it, but y/n felt jang-soo pull away, giving one last longing look in y/n’s eyes.

“i’ll love you forever.”

jang-soo said, one more peck to their lips as he walked towards the garage doors, young-shin and hee-rak opening the doors for jang-soo slightly.

“i love you jang-soo.”

“i love you even more, y/n.”

jang-soo walked out, and after a few seconds, you could hear his yell and the banging that he made with the stick and lid in his hand.

y/n couldn’t stop the tears from rolling down their cheeks, soon-yi going up to them and hugging them from the side, chi-yeol got the keys, handing them to so-yoon who sat in the drivers seat quickly. everyone was told to get in the truck, bursting through the doors and driving away from the construction site.

jang-soo watched them drive away, but mostly watching y/n wipe after their tears with their hands.

regret filled him, but without a doubt, he would never let y/n die if there was the option that he could die for them.
