❝ no seriously get your hands off my man ❞
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary; you don't like the way she acts around him playlist; miss possessive - tate mcrae word count; 1.2k note; this is for @raekensluver as she is in her miniminter era rn, no one else asked for this so its very much self-indulgent, back to our regular scheduled program after this one.
You and Simon enjoyed many parties in your time, much more when you were younger but, if you hadn't shown up for the charity match after-party he would've been given quite a bit of shit as he took charge of setting up almost everything. He's not stopped beaming since he woke you up yesterday with a coffee in hand for you, ensuring you knew it was nearly time to get going so everyone would be checked into the hotel before training.
Danny makes his way over, Ten's arm hooked with his, a blonde girl whose face is vaguely familiar in tow, "Simon!" Danny dabs him up pulling him in to aggressively clap him on the back, Your husband stumbles slightly before straightening up. They go into a loud conversation about the match attempting to speak over the bass-boosted music.
Tennessee and the nameless girl ogling at Simon sidestep around the two men over to you, "Ten, darling, you are glowing," you pause to kiss her cheek before continuing, "And admirable, can't believe you're out. I'd rather be under several duvets and I'm not pregnant." She smiles, shaking her head, "Glowing, no, oily, absolutely. Wouldn't miss it, Danny's floored." The girl behind her clears her throat, reminding you both of her looming presence.
"This is Emma Moran, she was on locked in with us," and that's when it hit you. The insufferable woman from Locked In who couldn't seem to keep her hands to herself when it came to the guys on there with even the slightest bit of clout or interest in anyone but her. She wanted attention, negative or positive, in her eyes any of it would do.
You nod along as she fangirls over your husband and his friends, he had fans so this was nothing new but she seemed to discuss solely followers and how she had been trying to get in on a Sidemen shoot or their podcast since the end of the show but never had success. "Maybe you could put in a word," she smiles too big for it to be real, you find yourself unable to control the way your face twists.
Her blue eyes flit from you to him a few times before settling on his face, "Uh, I can't really do much, I mean, I can mention you?" The words come off your tongue sounding unintentionally bitter, "They honestly do their own thing guest wise, I'm just his wife."
"That'd be nice, thank you," you smile, albeit tight-lipped, the next thing she says catches you completely off guard and based on how her brows knit together, Tennessee was thrown off just as much as you: "He is very nice to look at isn't he?" You narrow your eyes in her direction, doing your best to let the comment roll right off your back, he gets that from hundreds of thousands of girls daily. "Yeah, he is. One of the reasons I married him."
Silence quickly falls among you, and Simon, being only an arm's length away, picks up immediately on your now stiffened form and the abrupt ending of the conversation. Emma senses the awkward tension within the circle "Think I'm gonna go get a drink." Her grin resembles the Cheshire cat as she saunters off to the drink table, and poor Arthur Hill gets roped into a conversation with her.
The hazel-eyed girl watches her slip through the crowd of people and once she deems her out of earshot she's quick to let apologies flow, "I'm so sorry about her, she's so odd." You shake your head, giving her shoulder a squeeze, "Her actions are not your responsibility, you have nothing to be sorry for."
"No really, I knew I shouldn't have introduced her," she fidgets with her fingers quickly becoming anxious, "Ten, it's not your fault. I'm fine, I promise." Fine, yes, shocked at her audacity, absofuckinglutely.
Warmth creeps up your neck and soon your whole face feels hot, but you continue the lighthearted conversation with your friend, trying your best to relay how fine you thought you were. You're partial to crashing out in the middle of a party celebrating your best friends but if you could see her undressing Simon with her eyes at that moment, that feeling might just change.
Your ears perk as Danny excuses himself, wanting to mingle with some others Tennessee mutters more apologies as she follows behind her fiancee. "What was that about?" He quickly asks after they've stepped away. Rolling your eyes at the thought of what she said, your hand finds the back of his neck, ushering him down to your height.
"You see that girl over there?" He hums leaning into your touch, "She's your biggest fan, you know that?" another grunt of acknowledgment rumbles against your back, "Said you're nice to look at."
His bottom lip juts out and his brows shoot up, "Oh, really?" You tell him about how she was eyefucking him while you spoke with Tennessee and while you do so Simon's lips meet the exposed skin of your shoulder, his fingers graze over where his mouth just was, sliding the sequined strap of your little black dress down but not completely off.
Public displays of affection like this were few and far between, not due to a lack of admiration but because you loved so deeply it felt too nice to let the negativity of the outside world taint it. Even in the early years of your relationship back in school, you saved it for when it was just you two, now you keep it for when you know there are no cameras to be shoved in your face to capture such intimate moments. At this very second, something within you was staking its claim over him so everyone was aware he was not up for grabs.
"She's definitely watching," his warm breath fans over the place where your neck meets your shoulder, goosebumps rising in the wake of his words. You meet her baby-blue eyes from across the room, watching as her tongue darts out to wet her lips. He speaks up again, rubbing down your sides, to your hips getting dangerously close to the hem of your dress, "Why don't we get out of here?"
You sigh leaning back into him, "Yes please." He laces your fingers together, his thumb fiddling with your wedding ring, keeping you close as he makes his way through the sea of people.
You stop in your tracks unknowingly close to the refreshment table where she was last seen, "Shouldn't we say goodbye before," you cut yourself off at the sight of Emma's manicured hand on his bicep, "Simon, right?" she plays into faux oblivion, "I never got to introduce myself," before she can continue, he removes her hand from his arm stepping back from her.
He doesn't bother exchanging pleasantries, "I'd love to stay and chat, but we've really got to go." Her mouth hangs open before she can rack her brain for some form of rebuttal he's turned, tightening his grip on your hand. You can't help but turn giving her the same sickeningly sweet smile she shared with you earlier, following it up with a wave as you round the door and are out of sight.

AYAYUI IDOL AU: Chapter 1
// I present to you… MY FIRST EVER FANFIC! It’s inspired by these headcanons and these posts. As mentioned before, in this story, the Sakamakis are simply regular idols with a vampire-themed concept; they’re not actually vampires or related. Since I noticed how much you all enjoy this kind of content and have been so supportive, I thought you might like a fanfic based on it. ☺️
I’m by no means a professional writer, and my style leans more towards the visual novel/otome game format. Even so, I hope you’ll like it! 💕
Tumblr media
Voice announcement: Ladies and gentlemen, we have now arrived at our destination.
Before you disembark, please take a moment to ensure you have all your personal belongings with you. For your safety, mind the gap between the train and the platform edge as you exit.
We sincerely thank you for choosing our services and travelling with us. It has been our pleasure to serve you, and we hope to welcome you aboard again soon. Take care!
Yui: ( Eh? Is this…—! )
— eyes widen —
I’m here… I’m finally here!
Yui’s Monologue
I can’t believe my dream is actually coming true! All this time, this seemed like a childish wish but right now I truly am in Tokyo…!
Uuh… I’m getting a bit emotional, but can you blame me? It simply feels… surreal.
I never thought my father would agree to let me join a work exchange program in such a massive and dynamic city.
To be honest, I was half expecting him to say no, but it seems he believes in me more than I thought.
Knowing that he trusts me this much… it really makes me want to work even harder to prove he made the right choice.
Yes, that’s so. I will try my best to make father proud!
— takes big breath —
Yui: Nice to meet you, Tokyo. Let’s make this journey one to remember.
Place: Studio
Photographer: And~… pose! Ah yes, exactly like that! Keep on, keep on!
Ayato: ( Man, this shit is so tiring at this point. )
— smiles falsely —
Photographer: W-Wonderful…! Another one, thank you!
— keeps taking pictures —
Ayato: ( Can this woman stop blinding me with that flashlight already? It’s past 11 pm… )
Photographer: Now, a profile sho——
Manager: Hold on.
Pardon my intrusion, but I believe we already have enough pictures for today. Don't you think so?
Photographer: Eh? But we just got star— Oh my, it’s almost 12 am!?
G-Geez, my apologies. I guess the saying “time flies when you’re having fun” must really apply here.
— winks at Ayato —
Ayato: ( Gross! )
Manager: If more promotional pictures are required, we can extend the photoshoot to tomorrow. Watanabe-san, would it be possible for you to arrive earlier if that is the case?
Photographer: With such eye candy around, who could resist spending more time with him~?
Fufu, just kidding. I'll contact the director and get back to you with an answer as soon as possible.
Until then, have a good night! Bye-bye~!
— leaves —
Ayato: Haa… thanks goodness! One more photo, and I might’ve completely lost it.
Manager: I understand completely. Given your schedule, it’s clear you’re quite overworked. Nevertheless, it’s impressive how you still manage to perform so well.
Ayato: Heh… thanks.
— rubs eyes —
Manager: You look a bit tired, Ayato-san. Rest assured, the limousine should be arriving soon.
Ayato: Right, the limo is on its——
( Fuck! I can’t believe I almost forgot about it! )
Wait! Now that I think about it, I’ve got something else to take care of.
So… don’t mind me! Go ahead and take the limo; I’ll call for another one later.
Manager: Haa… Ayato-san.
You're not planning to do something that could get you into trouble, are you?
Ayato: O-Of course not! It’s just… no, it’s nothing important. Just a silly little thing I remembered I had to solve.
— tries to leave —
Manager: Ayato-san!
Ayato: Huh?
Manager: Do NOT let anyone see you, understood?
— Ayato nods and leaves —
???: You’re late.
Ayato: …!
Man, you almost gave me a heart attack!
Laito: My bad~. You came prepared at least, didn’t you?
Ayato: Yeah, yeah.
— puts cap and mask on —
Laito: Nfu, let’s go, shall we?
Place: Street
Yui: Uuh… come on! Why is no taxi in sight?
( It’s been two hours and I still couldn’t find my way to the Airbnb. )
( I knew Tokyo was huge, but I wasn’t expecting the transportation system to be this complicated… )
— looks at sky —
( It’s already late, huh? )
( I wonder if it’s safe for a girl to roam on these streets at this hour. Well, at least I hope it is, otherwise… )
Place: Private Night Club
Laito: Two Cosmopolitans. One for me, and one for that very fine lady over there, nfu.
Ayato: Another glass of Tequila.
Laito: Heh, another one? Is this the fifth by chance?
Ayato: I had a busy week, okay?
Laito: Ah, of course you did. After all, our Ayato-kun is the IT boy of this generation. Always swamped with brand deals, while the rest of us barely get a crumb~.
Ayato: …Not funny.
Laito: C’mon, don’t take it too seriously.
— pats his back —
I doubt any of us could care less about brand deals anyway. The idol job already pays well enough, and with barely any time for ourselves, why would we want to give up even more of our freedom?
Ayato: ( It’s not like it’s my choice though. )
Well, I can’t deny that the love I get is cool and all, but sometimes… hmm, how do I put it? It feels like people only like me because I’m an idol, y’know?
Laito: That’s to be expected, isn’t it? Fans often form a one-sided connection with idols simply because we’re constantly visible and accessible through the media, without really knowing who we are or what we’re capable of.
On top of that, you’re the visual, the face everyone admires. Who wouldn’t be drawn to someone who's not only stunning but also famous? It’s like the perfect package for embodying every girl’s fantasy.
Ayato’s monologue
Laito… he always knows what to say.
Seriously, this guy is so aware of everything around him to the point that it’s becoming unsettling.
And the worst part? He’s not just talking—he’s right, which is why it almost hurts to hear it.
At the end of the day, we idols are just puppets, carefully crafted to feed into the fans’ delusions. They don’t see us for who we truly are, but rather as a fantasy they can cling to.
And we, caught in the spotlight, are forced to live out that role.
Before becoming an idol, I was surrounded by people who kept me around because of my looks. At first, the amount of attention felt good, but as I mature, I realize just how hollow that really is.
I can’t help but wonder… if it weren’t for my appearance or status, would anyone actually treat me nicely? Would anyone be willing to accept me, flaws and all?
Heh… now I just sound stupid. As long as I’m an idol, I doubt I’ll get my answer anytime soon.
Waitress: Here we go, gentlemen. The Cosmopolitan and the Tequila.
Laito: Hello, earth to Ayato-kun, are you still in there?
— waves in front of his eyes —
Ayato: Yeah, yeah. I was just spacing out a bit.
Laito: Nfu, cheers.
Ayato: Cheers.
— they start drinking —
Ayato: Ngh…!
( My chest… it started aching! )
Laito: Hm, you good?
Ayato: Y-Yeah… I just— Ngh!
( It’s getting worse! )
I need some fresh air, that’s all.
— quickly puts on mask and cap —
I’ll be right back.
— quickly goes outside —
( Haa… Haa… what is happening…!? )
Agh… fuck!
( It hurts…! Could this be…—— )
— eyes widen —
( No… No, don’t tell me this is a real heart attack! )
Hnn… Ngh!
( What… what should I do now!? )
???: Quick! Please, drink this!!
— hands him water —
Ayato: Huh…?
— takes it and starts drinking —
???: A-Are you feeling better? I got another bottle in case you need it too.
Ayato: Haa… Haa… It’s okay now, all good.
???: Are you sure…? You really seemed in a lot of pain.
Ayato: Yeah… no worries.
( This girl… she just saved my life, didn’t she? )
By the way, uhm… thanks for that.
???: A-Ah, it’s nothing, really.
As far as I recall from my father, drinking water after alcohol can help reduce chest pain and lessen the severity of a hangover. I’m glad to see that it actually works.
Ayato: Heck yeah, I’m glad to see that it worked too, otherwise who knows how I would have ended up.
— the girl giggles —
???: You should be more careful though. Drinking too much alcohol can be very dangerous.
Ayato: ( Okay, mom. )
Yeah, yeah, I got it. I’m not usually like that.
Moreover… why exactly did you help me?
???: Eh? What do you mean?
Ayato: ( Could it be that she actually recognized me? )
( My face is practically hidden behind the mask and cap, and we’re in the dark, so there’s no way she could have, right? But if she did… )
???: Uuh… I suppose it was out of pure instinct.
Ayato: Instinct, huh?
???: Yup. You see, I heard you struggling, so there was no way I could brush that off.
Ayato: Hmm… But wait a minute, what were you doing all alone at this hour?
( What if she’s a stalker then? )
???: Ah… uhm… T-That’s a bit embarrassing to say out loud.
Ayato: Oh, come on, you straight up saw me about to drop dead from drinking Tequila. There’s no way this could be more embarrassing than that.
???: Actually… today’s my first day in Tokyo, and I’ve been struggling for almost 3 hours just trying to get to my Airbnb.
I tried taking the subway, but there were way too many lines, and I got lost at some point.
As for taxis, every time I tried to flag one down, the driver just ignored me.
Ayato: ( Nevermind, I’m taking it back. This might truly be more embarrassing. )
Pfft, why didn’t you call for a cab then?
???: I couldn’t find any reliable number…
Ayato: Hmm… Alright then.
I just arranged one for you. You’ll just have to tell them your location and wait for them to get you there. There’s also no need for you to pay.
— lends her money —
???: E-Eh!? Thank you… thank you so much! But I’m sorry, I just can’t accept the money!
Ayato: Nah, it’s fine, seriously. After all, you’re the one who helped me first.
Just promise me you won’t tell anyone about what happened today. Understood?
— the girl nods —
Ayato: Heh, great. Well, I guess it was nice to meet you. Now it’s time for me to return.
???: W-Wait! I forgot to catch your name!
Ayato: …!
( So she really doesn’t know me? )
It’s——
( No… it’s too risky. )
Oh look, the cab arrived! You should hurry up!
???: But—
( He left…? )
Yui’s monologue
As the taxi started moving, I found myself looking back, almost subconsciously, hoping to catch one last glimpse of that boy.
Today had been exhausting, but despite the strange circumstances in which we met, those brief minutes spent with him were oddly comforting.
I wonder who he is and what his life is like. It feels a bit silly, I know, to be thinking so much about someone whose name I don’t even know.
But there was something in his presence that made me feel in a way I haven’t felt in a long time.
Whatever it was, it stuck with me, lingering in my thoughts even after we parted ways.
My journey has only just begun, and yet I can’t shake the feeling that meeting him was no coincidence.
I really hope I get the chance to cross paths with him again.

🍓Dropping the Beauty and the Beast Wrio idea I came up with to @the-original-skipps who I love so much for putting up with my Wrio bullshit. I figured I'd never actually write anything with this, so I'll just dump the idea verbatim what I told bestie. It's not really all that much like Beauty and the Beast, so... lol. If you wanna hear the other concepts I have for the AU I can share lol. Anyway I do have Phainon stuff coming soon (heh), so we’ll return to our regularly scheduled programming in the coming days.
Tw: Drug use; Prison; Really really really rough draft
Okay so there are a lot of ways I could go about doing this, I could go full AU mode and make it exactly like Beauty and the Beast but idk I wanna fuck around. I was thinking more like Reader is from a smaller, less advanced village near the outskirts of Fonataine — the people there are close-minded and judgmental, only caring about fashion and the like. Inventors are not received kindly, and unfortunately for the reader and her father, he is an inventor and the reader is a headstrong bookworm. Now the village people find her beautiful (obviously) and many of them shame her for not using her looks to her advantage and stuffing her nose in books and research all day. Her father has been working tirelessly on a new invention for long-distance communication (telephone lol), and he intends to bring it to the next inventor's showcase in the heart of Fontaine’s capital. He’s old and feeble, though, so Reader comes with him for support and bids the village goodbye with a smile hoping the city will be more kind to her father's genius.
It was, of course, and many people stopped by fascinated by his technology. Some stopped by to try their chance with his daughter, but she was used to the flirting so she always redirected back to her father with ease. Things go fantastically until somehow Gardes come around after a “tip” that the two of them were harboring illegal drugs. (Someone had apparently caught a glimpse of them in their bags). They search, and in her father's bag, they find an illegal substance that neither of them knew was there. To save her father, though, Reader readily claims that they were hers and she planted them in his bag for easier transportation (her bag was small, and the vials are made of glass, easily broken in regular luggage). She gets tried and sentenced rather quickly — an outsider selling drugs in the city is quite scandalous, no one can resist a good story like that. Plus with how pretty she is, everyone is shocked and surprised at why she would throw her life away. So she goes to the fortress and is prepared to serve her sentence, her father adamantly pleading her innocence above the surface, when Wriothesley calls her to his office. Why? Well, he read the case files and managed to get ahold of information on her and realized nothing added up.
She’s from a village in the middle of nowhere with no prior criminal history. She’d never even been to Fontaine City before the week prior, so he wants to know what’s up. Curiosity can plague even the duke. So she confesses that she had lied to keep her father safe, but she knew that the drugs were planted. She personally packed her father's bag and checked it throughout the trip, those vials weren’t there earlier in the day of the incident, the only question is why would someone do such a thing? Wrio agrees to help her clear her name if she helps him with some things concerning him within the fortress. This drug planted on her seems to have made its way inside his walls and has been causing behavioral issues for some of the inmates. He wants her to gather info about where it’s coming from so he can put an end to it, and in turn, he’ll urge some of his connections above the surface to dig just a little deeper into her case. It’s hard to refuse such a tantalizing offer, especially with the worry of her father on her mind, so she accepts and gets to work asap.
They fucking hate each other at first, they’re both way too headstrong to be working with each other. Reader is obviously on edge with everything and Wrio is incredibly calm and laid back all the time and it irritates her to no end. They only start bonding after one of the drugged-out “connections” Reader makes in the prison starts to get suspicious of her, attempting to attack her on her way out from the Duke's office one night. Wrio stops her from getting too hurt, but the man had intentions to kill her to keep her quiet, so he ends up with a new nasty scar that Reader insists on taking care of since he won’t see Sigewinne. There she shares that she’s been caring for her father since she was young, and injuries like this were common with his tinkering and toying around with machines. She thanks him and urges him not to be so reckless for a prisoner, no matter how valuable she might be to him in achieving his goals. She doesn’t want special treatment just because she’s helping him.
From then they’re more casual with each other, Wrio getting over his biases of her being a pretty face and empty-headed, and Reader seeing past his tough exterior to find quite a sweet man underneath. They continue the investigation and start spending a lot more time together in the privacy of his office, weekly meetings becoming nearly daily as they discuss things other than what reader was finding out over tea. It’s easy and natural to them, but the closer they get the harder it is for the reader to find things out. She does manage to find the rat smuggling the drugs in, though, a fatui member who had connections above giving him new supply monthly to sell. With that done Wrio completes his end of the bargain and submits evidence he had gathered proving the reader and her father was innocent, a retrial happening, and clearing the reader of all charges.
She’s… sad to leave. She’d come to enjoy Wrio and Sigewinne and the prisoners in the fortress, but she had to return home with her father at some point… didn’t she? So the two of them prepare to leave Fontaine City after a small celebration, but on their way out of the city, they are attacked by Fatui members. Reader’s father manages to save her life by shoving her off the aquabus so she can get back to Fontaine and get help. The first person she thinks to get to is Wriothesley, certainly not the smartest decision considering how long the trip to his office is, but she doesn’t want to bother the Iduex and she is terrified of Lady Clorainde. She’s a babbling mess as she tries to convince the receptionist to let her see him, so much so the poor girl calls for help and Wriothesley himself arrives to sort out the matter. (He’d expected some vile criminal causing problems, not the reader in tears on shaky legs). She clings to him desperately, begging him for help. She’s pretty incoherent so he dismisses the workers for now and tries to ease what she needs out of her so he can help. (He’s genuinely ready to kill for her he’s so down bad atp lol). When she can tell him he assures her that things will get solved, and again takes her up to the surface to give the report to the gardes. This time, though he stays with her above ground, leaving his duties to a trusted member of staff and doing paperwork and the like at the small desk in her hotel room. It’s rather sweet how much he cares for her lol
There’s clearly a target on her back now, and he doesn’t exactly trust most of the Gardes to properly keep her safe. Luckily, the fatui were sloppy this time and the investigation team can quickly find the trail leading to their wear house… which just so happened to be in Readers' small little village. It turns out her village worked as an underground drug ring for some rouge fatui members, and the planted vials were meant to be slipped into someone else’s bag but the dropper messed up and mistook the reader and her father for the seller and that’s how it all got messed up. Her father is fine, though more battered and bruised than she’d like, and all is well and solved! Well… except for the fact that leaving Wriothesley’s side feels like legitimate torture. And the fact she didn’t want to live in her village anymore after this situation, too unsafe. Luckily, Wrio feels the exact same way and offers to help her and her father get on their feet in Fontaine — mentioning his impressive invention and how it could make a lot of money if he allowed the duke to… ahem invest in it for faster communication with the over world.
Fast forward and her father’s invention sells like hotcakes, making them plenty of money to support themselves in the city. They have a cozy apartment together and well liked by most people in Fontaine, her father finally respected and her able to read as many books as she likes. She spends little time above the surface, though, usually found visiting the Duke in her spare time. Curled up on his office couch with a cup of tea and a book in hand.

Taking a break from our regular scheduled program to post this Fivesoka ficlet!!
@tealmisthams this is for you (for no particular reason other than I feel like it because I know you’ll appreciate it)
The only other Fivesoka content I’ve written besides for the Fivesoka creation event and it is a few years old at this point, but I still like it a lot!
Modern AU, prompt was “Really dating , but everyone thinks it’s fake”. It’s pretty short, but still fun (I think so and I hope you do too)
.
Fives didn’t hesitate to jump up and answer the door as soon as the doorbell went off.
“I’ve got it!” he shouted through the house, running to answer it.
On the other side stood Anakin and Ahsoka, as expected.
“Hey guys!” Fives smiled. “You made it!”
“Was there any doubt?” Anakin smirked, giving Fives a handshake.
“We wouldn’t miss gaming with you and Rex for the world!” Ahsoka said, winking.
“Speaking of which,” Anakin said inviting himself in. “Where is Rex? Rex!”
“I’m setting up already!” the other boy called out.
Anakin chuckled and made his way towards the living room.
Fives beckoned for Ahsoka to come in. She eagerly obliged and slipped off her shoes.
“You still want to tell them today?” Fives asked as he grabbed her hand.
“Yep!” Ahsoka said cheerfully. “Not a doubt about it!” She squeezed Fives’ hand. “As long as you’re still okay with it?”
Fives nodded. “Yeah, let’s go.”
Walking into the living room, they found Rex and Anakin already set up and ready to go.
“What took so long?” Rex asked tossing the controllers at them. “Ready to go?”
“More ready then you are!” Ahsoka laughed, launching herself onto the couch. Fives chuckled and sat on the floor in front of her.
“You’re all gonna get whooped by me today!” Fives said.
Anakin snorted. “As if.”
Well into the third round, Fives looked over his shoulder at Ahsoka. She smiled and gave his shoulder a rub. “What’s up?” she asked.
“Now?” he said quietly.
“Sure,” Ahsoka shrugged. “Though they do seem very preoccupied trying to beat each other.”
“The distraction should help lessen the shock.”
Ahsoka nodded. “True.”
Fives turned back around and cleared his throat. “So,” he said slowly. “Ahsoka and I have something to tell you.”
“It had better be serious,” Rex said through clenched teeth as he tried to gain an advantage on Anakin.
“It is,” Ahsoka said.
Anakin hummed, indicating his lack of belief, but Fives continued.
“Ahsoka and I are dating,” he stated. Ahsoka squeezed his hand.
“As if,” Rex snorted. It was followed by a muttered curse word as Anakin took another life from him.
“You know,” Anakin said, somehow managing to keep his attention on the game. “That’s a new prank for you. A good one, but not that good.”
Ahsoka rolled her eyes. “Thanks, but it’s not a prank.”
“We’re serious,” Fives insisted.
Anakin gave a victorious cry as he won, leaving Rex groaning in defeat. Then, Anakin turned to face his sister and friend.
“I’m impressed you’re trying to pull this off, but it won’t work. Also, I’m gonna start becoming incredibly suspicious anytime you and Fives are planning a get together for video games,” he directed at Ahsoka.
“It’s not a prank!” Ahsoka said. “I promise.”
“Yeah,” Anakin nodded. “Just like how Padmé coming over wasn’t a prank either? Well, guess what? Padmé didn’t deliver that pizza!”
Yeah, but that was priceless,” Rex chuckled.
Anakin groaned. “Don’t encourage them! You’re suppose to be on my side!”
“I am!” Rex shouted. He turned to Fives and Ahsoka. “Seriously guys, you should drop the joke before it gets you in trouble.”
“It’s not a joke!”
Fives could hear the exasperation in Ahsoka’s voice. He placed a hand on her knee and smiled. “I’ve got this.”
She nodded and slowly smiled back.
“Hey Dad?” Fives called out. “Could you come here a second?”
Rex eyes widened and he stared dumbfounded at his brother. “Don’t you dare try this one on Dad!” he warned. “Don’t you dare.”
In less than a minute, Jango Fett entered the living room. He crossed his arms and looked at his younger son. “What is it, Fives?”
Fives smiled. “Oh, well, I just wanted to let you know that Ahsoka and I are dating.”
Rex and Anakin stared at him, goggling at Fives’ audacity.
Jango nodded slowly and turned his attention to Ahsoka. “Is this true?” he asked simply.
Ahsoka nodded solemnly. “Yes sir. It is.”
Anakin stared at her, eyes wider than Fives had ever seen.
“For how long?” Jango asked.
“2 months,” Fives answered.
“No problems encountered?”
They both shook their heads.
“No, sir,” Ahsoka replied.
“Very well then,” Jango shrugged. “Carry on.”
Ahsoka’s whole face broke into a smile as he left the room. Fives grinned and squeezed her hand.
Rex’s jaw might as well have been dislocated. “No way,” he said. “No kriffing wa-You serious? You’re serious about dating?”
Fives and Ahsoka both nodded.
Anakin shook his head. “Well, okay then, Snips. Why didn’t you say so sooner?”
Ahsoka shrugged. “Fives and I agreed we’d tell you two together.”
“I can’t believe you’re serious,” Rex breathed, staring at the wall in disbelief.
Ahsoka chuckled. “No hard feelings though?”
“Yeah, no,” Rex sighed. “Just disbelief.”
“You’d better take good care of her though,” Anakin said to Fives, waving a threatening finger at him. “You don’t want me on your bad side.”
“No problem,” Fives nodded. “I’d protect this girl with my life.”
Anakin chuckled. “Yeah, I know. The threat was just obligatory. But, you know, now I really have to propose to Padmé.”
Ahsoka rolled her eyes. “You’ll stay in the lead. Don’t worry.”
Anakin shrugged. “Better safe than sorry. And uh, no surprise babies, okay?”
Fives laughed. “We know! Don’t worry.”
“Both our dads are gonna give us this lecture,” Ahsoka said. “You don’t have to.”
“I just can’t believe you’re being serious,” Rex said, shaking his head.

Hi hi
So obviously I’ve been a bit quiet here. I’m okay…I suppose. Just going through a rough time with my mental stuff, and that has been kind of effecting my worth with my own art and characters. I don’t like making a huge stink out of stuff because uh…nobody came here to read/listen about that junk! But just as a lil update I am okay. Just uh…struggling is all
However I will be burying it soon with more art (hopefully). And I hope it’s still outlast related so I can actually post it here lol.
Thanks for sticking around, sorry for the wait, and I’m not sure when we will get back to our regular scheduled programming but I’m gonna try my best to get it back on air and a lil more consistent.

Married to The Enemy- Shingen Ch. 66
And we are back to our regularly scheduled programming! (okay not really all that regular, but you get what I mean haha).
Chapter 66
We all exited the palace and headed into town together. Shingen kept an arm around my waist as we walked into town. Decorations were strung up everywhere, shops were open with all kinds of crafts, even some special ones that were made as special tokens to welcome Shingen home.
Of course, what really caught my attention was the delicious aromas wafting through the air from the various food stalls. But I kept myself quiet. This day was about Shingen and I wanted him to enjoy it.
“The town went all out for you, my lord.” Yuto told Shingen.
“I can see that.” Shingen replied, smiling as he took everything in. I could tell he was genuinely happy to be back in Kai and it seemed like quite the warm welcome from his people. Those beautiful gray eyes soon came to me. “What would you like to see first, my love?”
“I’m fine with wherever you want to start.” I replied. “This is all for you, you know.”
Shingen chuckled and kissed me on the forehead. “It is also to welcome YOU to Kai as well.” He told me.
“Oh, come on, there has to be something you were really looking forward to about coming back to Kai.” I replied.
Shingen grinned at me. “There is something…and I have a feeling you will enjoy it too.” He said, kissing the tip of my nose.
The next thing I knew, we were at one of the food stalls, getting several orders of some sweets that were exclusive to Kai. The cook behind the shop smiled as he handed Shingen the treats. “I made this order just the way you like them, my lord. With extra sweet sticky syrup.”
Shingen smiled. “Thank you.”
“And do you have any special requests, my lady?” The cook asked me. “I remember when my wife was expecting our first. She had some of the strangest cravings.”
I shook my head. “No, thank you. As of right now, I just want food…and lots of sweets.”
The cook laughed. “Well, you are carrying Lord Shingen’s child. So that’s no surprise.”
We chatted a few more moments before we were taking our food and going to sit down on some benches. “You should be sure not to eat too much of those.” Mom told me as we all sat down. “You know too much sugar is bad for the baby.”
I pouted. “But it’s so good…and sweets are kind of all I’ve been craving.”
“That’s definitely Lord Shingen’s fault.” Yukimura said. “If I didn’t stop him, he’d eat nothing but sweets for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all the snacks in between.”
I giggled. “Hey, I make sure he gets balanced meals too, you know.” I said, picking up one of the sticky treats and popping it in my mouth, the sweet flavor instantly hitting my tongue and spreading through my mouth. “Mmm…” I hummed in contentment as I ate.
“Don’t act like you dont have a sweet tooth yourself, Ava.” Mom said. “I seem to recall having to fight with you about your breakfast choices in the mornings growing up.”
“You worry too much, my girl.” Oba-san told Mom.
“And you spoiled her too much.” Mom countered.
“That’s my job as the grandmother. I get to spoil and then give her back. Something you’ll come to enjoy here soon.” Oba-san replied with a smug grin.
“That is true.” Mom replied. She then looked at me. “You’ll finally get to know what it’s like to argue with a miniature version of yourself.”
I laughed. “What if the baby is a miniature version of Shingen? I mean besides the fact that he’d be super cute that way…”
Shingen chuckled. “Well, it’s good for us that I was a good boy then.” He said, caressing my hair.
“Most of the time. You had your moments.” Yuto countered. “You could be quite stubborn when you wanted to be.”
“I wasn’t that bad.” Shingen replied.
It was then that something new occurred to me. “Wait, Yuto, you were involved in Shingen’s upbringing?”
Yuto nodded. “Yes, my late wife was his wetnurse and I helped with his training and such.”
Shingen looked at me. “Are you thinking what I think you are, my love?”
I nodded. “Yes.” I then turned back to Yuto. “So, you would have all kinds of stories about him, right?”
“Oh, yes I could tell you anything you wanted to know.” Yuto replied.
“I don’t think that’s really needed, my love…” Shingen tried to protest.
“Oh, yes it is. Oba-san shared with you my embarrassing stories…and pictures…I wanna hear yours.” I replied.
Yuto chuckled. “Ah, you want to know the things my lord would prefer no one know?”
I nodded. “Pretty much yes.”
“I will be sure to regale you with such tales later. I promise.” Yuto replied.
“Aren’t you supposed to be my vassal?” Shingen teased.
Yuto grinned. “I am. But that also means your wife is now my lady and I serve her as well. Not to mention she is my step-daughter. I want her to like me afterall.”
I laughed. “Haha! Looks like I’ve won.” I then looked over at Mom. “Thanks for marrying him.”
Mom laughed. “You’re welcome…I think.”
“I’m in for trouble.” Shingen said with a chuckle.
“Don’t worry my lord, I will share the embarrassing stories with Ava and only stories that paint you in the best light with my wife.”
I couldn’t help but to giggle. Soon after finishing the sweets, we all began wandering around the festival. Our group slowly dwindled down until it was me and Shingen and my mom and Yuto. Oba-san had gone off on her own and then Yukimura and Saki had left to spend some time alone.
Shingen showed me around the town, showing me his favorite places around. Though he seemed to make sure that every place he showed me would interest me in some way. He also made sure to take me by the fabric merchant in town.
Kana and Yuto…
Kana walked beside Yuto, holding his hand as they made their way through the festival following her daughter and Shingen. She watched Ava and Shingen. This was Ava’s first day in Kai and she had wanted to know everything Shingen loved about the town. Yet she couldn’t help but to notice that Shingen was being sure to show Ava things that related to her interests.
He also seemed to make sure they took frequent breaks to ensure Ava had plenty of food to eat and plenty to drink. He made sure she sat down and rested as she needed to. As much as she didn’t want to trust Shingen…all signs pointed to the fact that Shingen really did love Ava and was dedicated to her.
She also noticed the way the women of the town looked at Shingen. There were lots of admiring looks. Not that Kana could really blame the women. Even she had to admit her son-in-law was a handsome man. Though what really caught her attention was that Shingen paid no attention to these other women and the longing looks they were giving him. He did seem to really only have eyes for Ava.
“They are rather sweet together.” Yuto spoke to her in a low voice, a warm smile on his face. “I haven’t seen my lord this happy in many years.”
“I will admit…he does seem to really care for her. And Ava does seem to be happy.” Kana admitted.
“I can tell you, I’ve known Lord Shingen since he was a boy. He’s never looked at a woman the way he looks at Ava.” Yuto told his wife.
“I’m still not sure I can trust  him with her heart just yet…”
“Whether you trust him with her heart or not, doesn’t matter. She clearly has already trusted her heart to him.” Yuto replied. “Not to mention he is the father of your grandchild.”
Kana sighed. “I know. I just can’t help but to worry. She is my daughter after all…and until I clearly had terrible taste in men…and the rate Ava was going, she was on the same path as me.”
“But look at her face.” Yuto replied.
Kana looked at her daughter, seeing the genuine smile on her face. They were currently pursuing over some tea sets and other wares at one of the shops in town. She noticed Ava’s eyes lingering over certain things. Shingen’s eyes were on Ava, taking in everything she did.
“Would you like one of these tea sets, my love?” Shingen asked Ava.
“No. I just think they’re pretty and admire the craftsmanship.”
Kana knew her daughter. That was her way of trying to pass it off. She wanted one of those tea sets. She always denied wanting anything for herself. Kana made a mental note to come back and purchase one of the tea sets.
Of course that was when she noticed Shingen. When Ava’s back was turned, he discretely called the attention of the shopkeeper and passed him some money. The shopkeeper was then packing away the set Ava had been admiring. Kana noticed this was a pattern that occurred in several shops.
She looked to Yuto. “Is he doing what I think he’s doing?” She asked.
Yuto nodded. “Yes. One of the vassals will be along to pick them up later.”
“What are you two whispering about back there?” Ava asked, turning to look at her mother over her shoulder.
Kana smiled at her daughter. “Just thinking that that food stall over there smells good.”
“It does smell good.” Ava agreed.
The group headed over to get something to eat then and set down. “I’m glad we’re sitting down. My feet and ankles are starting to hurt a little.”
“Are they? We can’t have that.” Shingen said. He was then reaching for Ava’s feet and pulling them up into his lap. He removed her sandals and began to rub her feet and ankles.
Ava’s cheeks were glowing bright red. “Shingen…you don’t have to do that right out here.”
Shingen smiled at Ava. “I just want to take care of my goddess.”
The rest of the time at the festival was spent in a similar manner. By the time the festival was coming to a close and they were heading back to the castle, Ava was saying that her feet and ankles were hurting again. Shingen picked her up and carried her to the castle.
Kana felt her heart warming at the sight. Ava had a genuine smile on her face…and it seemed it was all because of Shingen. It seemed perhaps, Ava had really found true love. It appeared Ava had chosen better than she had when she’d met Ava’s father. It appeared Shingen was a good man.

hey there! I was wondering if you can do a reader who has bright red hair? I'm talking about full blown reeeeeeeed hair.
Like, the reader visits the sully family along side norm and max, tonowari sees reader and is very intrigued by her hair? Bonus if she has freckles! Thank you! I love reading your work! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Ofc my dear snickerdoodle, im sorry this took me so longgggg… sorry if it feels rushed? And i think he’s a little occ… i guess it’s got mor of a “young Tonowari” vibe :3
Masterlist
Tonowari with a redhead
- it was a relatively regular visit for Max and Norm, that they scheduled a couple times a year, but for you? Oh, this was your very first time out of the forest and you were almost bursting with excitement! You had begged and begged them to let you come as well and finally, they let you, even if they were a little hesitant, you didn’t look quite like the standard human and they were quite nervous about the Na’vi’s reaction.
- The anomaly you had? Fire red hair! Your hair was something you’d always been proud of, you could say that you’d always seen the world differently and that the world always saw you differently. No one you knew had hair as vibrant as yours so you always deemed yourself a little more special amongst other kids or teens, some of them had different opinions about your hair, and more than a few times you got asked if you dyed it, some older people also shamed you for it sometimes, telling you that it was unnatural, the color of the devil and that you should dye it black or brown.
- those words and opinions definitely hurt sometimes but you never even considered changing your hair, it would go against everything your parents taught you and against everything you believed. So when you joined the avatar program, you were quite nervous about your team's reaction, but luckily Grace was there. She had red hair just like you and she made sure no one ever even dreamed of mocking her for it!
- but back to present events, you were sitting in the back of the heli, fiddling with your hair as you gazed at the astonishing scenery of the ocean, waves crashing and Ilu jumping over them. Just then you heard Norm yell “We’re almost there, get ready”
- And there it was, the island collection that formed Awa’atlu. Truly a sight to be seen. The landing went over quite smoothly and soon enough you were greeted by the Sully’s, getting bombarded by bear hugs from everyone, even little Tuk that wasn’t so little anymore.
- but even if the people had already seen humans, all eyes seemed to be glued to you. It made you a little uncomfortable but you couldn’t blame them, surely they hadn’t seen anyone with hair like yours. And natural to be interested in something new. but there was one pair of sticking blue eyes that didn’t seem to want to let go, even after all the commotion had settled.
- Kiri showed you to the guest tent that you’d be staying at and all the while she complimented your hair and asked all types of questions, it really made you happy that someone liked your hair this much! But because the two of you talked so much, Kiri totally forgot about what she was supposed to tell you about dinner!
- It was already dark and your stomach was already growling like the one of a starved animal, maybe they didn’t eat dinner? No way, maybe they all eat by themselves? Yea, that’s probably it. Thinking about it like that made you quite sad, no one was thinking of you.
- you decided that it was best to go for a little walk, maybe you’d be able to find some fruit or something. Opening the flap and finding our way to the beach was easy enough so now all you had to do was walk around.
- your bare feet carried you along the shore, sometimes dipping into the water, whilst keeping an eye out for something to eat. The village was already fleeting from sight as you reached the more rocky parts of the beach.
- but it seemed that you weren’t alone anymore, just a few meters in front of you, sat the strong and mighty leader of the Metkayina, Tonowari. He was leaning against a pretty large boulder, looking out to the wild sea. Not sure if you should approach him, you decided that you’d just sneak past him.
- unfortunately for you, the sand crunched under your small feet and of course Tonowari noticed you, but he understood that if you didn’t want to be noticed, then he wouldn’t react, so he just kept on looking forward.
- a relieved sigh left your lips when you successfully snuck past, and as you looked at your surroundings, there you saw it. A large tree, perched on a large boulder that bore wonderful looking, juicy, round, blue fruit.
- You couldn’t stop a little gasp from slipping and you knew that you had to try and get a few! So with a rumbling stomach, you hiked up your let between a little crevice in the rock, grabbed onto a few ragged edges, and pulled yourself up. Truth be told, it wasn’t that easy, you had to change positions a bunch of times and had to really manifest your muscles to even attempt to pull yourself up.
- but in the end, you stood atop the boulder, now facing another problem, why was this tree so tall?!? Slowly the frustration was getting to you but you paid it no matter. You wrapped your fingers around edges and cracks in the bark and tried to scale up the dark brown trunk. To say the least, this was raven harder than the boulder. You slipped and fell more times than you could count but you were determined to not let this stupid old tree get the batter of you! Another reason was that your poor stomach was still growling and grumbling, pushing you to try even harder. It felt like hours had passed and you’d still made barely any progress, only ever getting halfway up before gravity pulled you back down.
- All the while Tonowari kept watching you, he’d snuck closer after just a few minutes and decided to observe you. You were truly a strange being, the first one he’d ever seen with hair like yours, red as the flames that illuminated the shore by night. The day you arrived, you’d captured his interest instantly and he’d thought about how to talk to you ever since.
- as he continued to watch, he noticed that you got higher and higher and soon he’d started to worry about you falling, so he silently made his way up the rock and waited right next to the tree. Not a second later your fingers grazed the fruit, snatching one piece after the other and letting it fall to the ground to keep your hands free, but what you didn’t notice, was that the fruit never came in contact with the ground, instead, Tonowari kept catching them with ease, resting them in the crook of his arm.
- your hand reached up to pick one last piece, when suddenly your feet lost their grip on the little boom in the bark and your fingers slid off the branch you were holding onto, earning yourself more than a couple splinters. In the first few seconds you were falling, your mind started racing, panic flooding your system in fear of getting hurt. You slammed your eyes shut and curled together, hoping to lessen the impact, but it never came.
- instead, you felt something firm yet strong hold you in mid-air, a quick look of confusion washing over your face before you opened your eyes when you heard a little chuckle. You let one of your eyes crack open and what you saw absolutely baffled you, the utterly handsome clan leader of the Metkayina? Seriously? It took a second for you to realize that he was holding you with one arm, his biceps pressed against your back and his wrist under your butt, before your face turned pink, almost the same color as your hair. You wiggled and squirmed, trying to get out of his hold but his hold on you was tight. So with only one option left, you looked up at him “Please let me go?” it came out as more of a question.
- Tonowari shot you a sly grin but gently placed you on the ground nonetheless, keeping his eyes on you. “Thank goodness you didn’t fall, huh?” He tried making conversation as he held out a piece of fruit to you. Your hand, small in comparison to his, gently grasped the fruit, slowly piling one piece after the other until your arms were full, “How’d you catch me anyway?” “Well, when you snuck past me I got curious, you can’t blame me for following such a pretty girl as yourself, can you?” Your face got impossibly redder. He thought you were pretty?
- “Come along, you must be tired” he instructed calmly even though he was clearly smirking on the inside thinking about how he still had his charm going. Of course, you followed the tall blue man as he let you to the water, your feet putter pattering against the sand as you took twice as many steps as he did.
- the two of you sat down, you crossed your legs, and placed all of your loot on your lap. You lifted one up, holding it in front of your eyes, looking at the texture. It seemed rough and thick, how were you supposed to eat this? Just bite into it right? You opened your mouth, just about to sink your teeth into the flesh when a large blue hand suddenly snatched it out of yours.
- “Whoa there, you shouldn’t eat the outside shell, look” he pressed the fruit between his thumbs, and with one hefty crack he split it open, the inside was a gentle pink color and the texture reminded you of a mango. Amazement struck your face and you wanted to try opening one too, it looked so easy! Albeit the fruit was a lot larger in your hands than in his, you held a second one just like he did, pressing your thumbs to it and pushing with all your might, but nothing happened. You tried again but again, nothing. Tonowari couldn’t help but let a little chuckle slip, hearing this you felt a little dejected and embarrassed, turning to face the other way.
- Tonowari instantly stopped laughing and got a guilty look plastered on his face “Hey, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you feel bad” he reached over and took the unopened fruit from you and replaced it with the two open halves. “Please try it, tastes great” You gave him a little nod and took a generous bite. Your eyes lit up, millions of sparkles shimmering across your irises, showing Tonowari just what he needed to know, you liked it. As you continued eating, his eyes haven’t once left you, he was so curious about you, you looked so different, like straight out of a fairytale where you were the gorgeous heroine.
- he was so curious as to why you looked like that, and the closer he looked, the more he noticed, you also had little spots covering your nose and cheeks, quite like his own, but these didn’t seem to glow. Were they different? Or were you perhaps sick? Concern washed over his face at the thought of you being ill. So with a worried tone in his voice, he asked “Do you feel ill?”
- you shot him a confused glance wondering what he meant because as far as you knew, you weren’t sick at all. You shook your head and mumbled “No, do I look sick?” you asked worriedly. “No, not necessarily, but your spots aren’t glowing,” he said as he gently treated his finger over your nose and along your cheek. You weren’t expecting this at all, so of course you turned cherry red not a second later.
- you started to giggle at the misunderstanding, he thought that your freckles were the same as his bioluminescent spots! Tonowari flopped his head to the side, not quite getting what you were laughing at until you finally started explaining. You told him that you were born with these spots and that they were called freckles. You explained that throughout the year the number of freckles changes, in summer you get more because essentially they’re just little spots that are made from melanin, that gets visible if you come in contact with a lot of sunshine.
- he seemed quite interested and asked further questions about your freckles and your hair, he asked if you’d also been born with your almost magical-looking hair and you confirmed. The two of you talked for hours upon hours, and every second you spent with him, you felt your attraction to the man grow as well. Little did you know that Tonowari also seemed to gain more and more interest for you.
- but as everything good, it had to come to an end. You started yawning and you were barely able to keep your eyes from closing, so you thought that resting your head a little on the sand would be a good idea, just for a few minutes. All the while Tonowari was telling you a story about his childhood and teen years when he noticed that you stopped responding. He looked over to you, checking if everything was alright when he heard the tiniest of snores leave your plush lips. He couldn’t help but let a little giggle slip, without even thinking, one of his hands reached over and gently brushed a few loose strands of red hair out of your face and behind your ear. He thought that your red hair suited you all too well.
- he didn’t want to wake you again, as you had had enough of action for today, so he shuffled over and kneeled next to you, his eyes wandered over your sleeping form for a moment before he gently slipped his hands under your back and the bend of your knees, picking you up just a second later, it surprised him how small you were, he towered over you and he could easily carry you with one arm, that made his pride swell a little, being as strong as he is.
- The people of the village were long asleep, everything silent and almost pitch black, only the stars helped aluminate his path. He walked over to your hut and placed you inside, wishing you nice dreams.
- Bonus headcanons
- The next day he asks if he can braid your hair and ofc you say yes. He sits you in front of him and starts braiding. He defiantly isn’t used to braiding such thin hair but he makes do with what he’s got, he wants to impress you after all.
- it takes a bit but soon enough your hair is done up beautifully with shells and pearls braided into it. You are in total awe and ask him to teach you next time. Since then he starts collecting and making hair accessories that have a nice contrast to your unusual hair color, along with a few necklaces and bracelets of course.
- You often got stared at by the people, which wasn’t new to you, but whenever you were with Tonowari, they certainly minded their business more.
- and since your first encounter, Tonowari makes sure that you have lots of snacks and drinks starched in your hut if you ever miss communal meal times, or forget to get anything door yourself, but soon enough you start bringing your snacks to him and eating them together. Whenever the two of you eat together Tonowari feels like he’s on cloud 9, absolutely elated and almost vibrating with excitement!
- whenever you go for a swim it's very easy to spot you because of your hair and if Tonowari has time, he’ll always join in. He also shows you his skimwing and offers you a ride, which you gladly accept.
- turns out, heights and speed were super fun but diving under and feeling water crash into your face and up your nose isn’t so much to your liking, o you decide to stick with the ilu.
- all in all, you had a great time with the Metkayina, especially with their leader and you absolutely cry when you have to leave. Tonowari is also quite upset because he grew so fond of you in such a short time and now you’re just being ripped away from him. He makes you promise that you’ll visit again soon, and that promise turns into a monthly visit that gradually gets longer and longer.

Timothy Olyphant, 55, is an actor who starred in Deadwood, Live Free or Die Hard, and Justified. He will star in the FX miniseries Justified: City Primeval this fall and currently co-stars in the Max miniseries Full Circle. He spoke with Marc Myers before the actors strike.
TIMOTHY:
You couldn’t get me out of the pool when I was a kid. We lived next door to a swim and racket club in Modesto, Calif.
I began regular swim practice at age 6. My older brother, Andy, took to tennis, which probably helped us get along. We were competitive. Our younger brother, Matt, did a little bit of everything and eventually became a water-polo player.
I was born in Hawaii, but we moved to Modesto when I was 3. My dad, Bevan, worked for Del Monte and left to work at E&J Gallo Winery soon after we relocated to California. He started in bottling and worked his way up to vice president of production.
My mom, Katherine, was a full-time mom. She was the nurturing type. Whether I won or lost, she’d always talk about how well I competed or how beautiful a swimmer I was, never about whether I won or not. She’s very sweet and encouraging.
Just as I was starting high school, my parents divorced. After they split up, we quickly figured out who was responsible for what. For example, our dad didn’t really know how to do laundry or cook. If we were going over to his place, we’d probably be eating out.
When you’re young, any time your foundation gets rocked, it sets you back a bit. I’d been a good student when my parents were together, but there definitely was a dip after the divorce. I kind of saw what I could get away with and wound up just an okay student.
I wasn’t in school plays. I’m not sure I saw that side of me yet. Instead, I was at swim practice and hanging with my buddies. I also liked to draw a lot, which I suppose is how I expressed myself.
I was a solid swimmer in the Central Valley. I set a CIF SAC-Joaquin Section Record and wound up with an All America Swimming Certificate. By my senior year, I realized swimming was my ticket out of town and certainly the only way I’d get into a great university.
I worked hard. After USC saw the times I was posting, they called to recruit me for the team. When I flew out to USC on my recruit trip, I met with the dean of the architecture school. He said there was no way I could manage both the swim team’s practice schedule and the rigors of the architectural program.
I asked him about the art gallery downstairs. He said it was part of the fine-arts department. I didn’t even know you could get a degree in that. I met with the fine-arts dean and asked if I could be on the swim team. He said we’d work it out.
Majoring in fine arts for me was like winning the lottery. In high school, I’d get in trouble for drawing when I was supposed to be doing schoolwork. Now, in college, drawing was my schoolwork.
After my senior year, I left USC several electives shy of a degree and didn’t finish until the pandemic. But before I left, I met some drama majors who got me thinking about acting.
By then, my college girlfriend, Alexis, and I had married. We moved to Seal Beach, south of Los Angeles, where I coached swimming. To fulfill some of my electives I took an acting 101 class at UC Irvine. I had a ball. It was a language I understood immediately.
I read Stanislavsky’s and Sandy Meisner’s books on acting. I realized that it wasn’t a frivolous pursuit but a craft on par with how artists I admired approached painting and sculpture. I told Alexis I was thinking about pursuing acting rather than a master’s in fine art. She said, “Tim, just do something. Just pick one thing and do that.”
The guy who taught the intro class was a graduate student who recommended I study with Bill Esper at the Esper Studio in New York. Fortunately, Alexis’s dad lived there and let us move into his place.
My career has been many little steps—a lot of one step forward, two steps back. I’m not sure if there was any one role that really changed things, but landing the lead in “Justified,” in 2010, certainly helped things along.
Today, Alexis and I live in Los Angeles and have three grown kids. We moved in 15 years ago and love the house and neighborhood. I still draw and swim.
Breakfast is my favorite meal. I make steel-cut oatmeal in my rice cooker, which has a porridge setting. When I come home from swimming and have my oatmeal, I feel like I’m 8 again. And you know what? That feels pretty good.

Blissful space? Sitting in a blue chair in the kitchen having coffee with my wife.
Cool buy? A painting by an artist I’ve admired for at least a decade or so.

Blog Organizing
Think I'm going to go ahead and 'post' the rest of the chapters from 19-34 on here so then when I upload 35 (finally) everything will be caught up/in order. Solely for the purpose of organizing things, if you see the little chapter 'updates' just ignore them, they're for the sake of my sanity and maybe someone else's
As for ch. 35, I'll admit the weekend got busier than I thought it would be, actively working on getting it out soon and then hopefully we'll be back to our regular scheduled programming ^-^
In the meantime, I hope the promptobers/refs have been helping to pass the time (y'all seem to like them so that's good at least lol)

I'm back from my vacation!💕 Soon we'll be getting (hopefully) back to our regular scheduled programming, but I wanted to introduce you all to one of my upcoming muses because I couldn't stop thinking about her on my way back.
Meet Maeve, (she/her; fc: Chappell Roan), a siren who was ever so curious about the human world beyond all the ships she had seen. So one day she checked it out for herself, despite all the warnings and concerns from her friend. One day turned into two and more as she explored the first place she had visited. Eventually, she was set on a journey to become a pirate captain sailor and recruited her own crew. Perhaps it was because she ran into one annoying pirate at a bar who claimed women didn't have what it takes to be a part of their crew. Perhaps it was because that night she broke that guys nose and a few other bones. Perhaps it was because she wanted to prove them wrong, and to show that they can make it even better than them. So most of her crew consisted of other women, but pretty much everyone was allowed on the ship as long as they stayed respectful. Most of them were also other sirens or supernatural beings looking for an adventure. Yet nobody knew what they were truly. That fact made them more dangerous than they might potentially appear. They were quite unpredictable too. So as time passed, more and more pirate crews and sailors started getting scared of them and prayed that they never run into them in the sea. The Daughters of the Sea had no problem sinking a ship or two if they needed to. Meanwhile, on their adventures, Maeve came up with an idea, she and her crew could make some appearances whenever they reached land. Apart from treasure hunting, and looking for new thrills, Maeve and her group organized a sort of performance troupe that performed every once in a while at random festivals and so on, quickly gaining popularity among the locals. They never gave too much information about themselves, though. It was better that way.
Maeve is in the same universe as my Till Kingdom Come muses and has run into Jum in his pirate verse a few times before and after he became a pirate himself. At that time she had offered him a ride on her ship, she could tell that he needed an escape, but he turned her offer down, not quite ready to leave yet. But their meeting was one of the final pushes for him to run away. Years later they met again far far away from the place Jum was burn and became friends. More or less, as it wasn't often his crew and hers were in the same location at the same time and didn't talk during those periods of time.

Because I am autistic and the ridiculous car sport is one of my special interests I am pausing the regularly scheduled carlos/charles/oscar/general f1 driver thirst to instead spew all my thoughts on today into a post otherwise I will not stop thinking about this. To my followers; do not worry I will not subject you to this every race I sometimes just need to SCREAM:
Fellow Tifosi: the hard truth is our team is now slower than Mercedes and McLaren. But I think the important question to ask is why? Aside from that Ferrari are being Ferrari again. Well. First of all they have NOT had the raft of upgrades McLaren or even Mercedes have had. McLaren have completely changed their concept and Mercedes have finally given up on the zero pod, and it’s paying off! It’s becoming increasingly clear that trying to make the most of a bad car just doesn’t work, and that you really need to bite the bullet and commit to a complete concept change. Obviously, this is difficult to do with a cost cap, but Ferrari really haven’t kept pace with the upgrade train (aston martin too... a lot of this also applies to them) and if we want to see Charles on the front row again we are going to need some serious tweaking this season.
Secondly: This years cars are so close the track is playing a massive part in car performance. The beginning of this year was mostly street circuits due to Imola being cancelled, and I have a suspicion these kinds of circuits suit the Aston/Ferrari far more, and that this drop off in pace is not as caused by a lack of development as it initially appears, but these cars just not being as suited to proper racetracks, wheras on street tracks they are closer to competitors. This may just be me on the copium, but I believe that Ferrari and Aston may be in better form on later street circuits this year.
Obviously, I can’t ignore this; FINALLY SOMEONE HAS TAKEN MAX DOWN A PEG. Red Bull don’t seem as comfortably ahead as they usually are. Perhaps the upgrades have unsettled Max slightly? While I doubt Lewis will be able to win this (he did only manage to beat Max by 0.003 of a second) this is certainly an instance of making the god bleed and realising it can be killed.
I also want to discuss McLaren; It’s becoming clear these massive upgrades have worked! Changing the car so much is a gamble that’s paid off tenfold for them. I hope this level of competitiveness remains this year and beyond, so we can see Oscar get his first podium and Lando his first win. I also hope it’s a wake up call for Ferrari and Aston who have been very complacent.
Alfa Romeo, also. Did they have upgrades? Did this new quali format just work for them? I’m not entirely sure tbh but well deserved after a shit few races. Would like to see them do well tomorrow but i’m not sure if the one lap pace will carry over.
Another Ferrari thought: I am beginning to suspect they have written this season off as a dud and are turning their attention to next year’s car. I think the success at Le Mans, and the obvious ploy it was to get around the cost cap and also develop tech for their F1 programme, has left them kinda in shambles and going ‘well, we have next year!’ and hoping their new car works. I hope it does. Charles deserves it after all the shit he’s put up with.
Finally; DANIEL! he has had like 3 hours in that car and he dragged it into Q2, what a start! Although I hope the inevitable rivalry doesn’t become too sour between him and Yuki. Daniel has come into this guns blazing and I love to see it. The honey badger is back and he’s gonna BITE.
Rant over. I just want to say I’m no expert in this and this is just my observations from being obsessed with this sport. Feel free to add your own thoughts! This has been Opti’s notebook. We will soon resume regular programming.
