it’s so surreal to me that supernatural went on for so long that the final arc of the show was literally the main characters screaming and begging and fighting for freedom and rest from a controlling and obsessive author/god who had been writing their lives up until that point, who simply would not let them die. it went on for so long that it went from being a show where the two leads used phones with antennae and made references to myspace, to being a show where they literally referenced the “sir, this is a wendy’s” meme and dean said “galaxy brained”. it went from being a dark and gritty show shot on film to being a show shot on digital where the saturation was so bright that it looked like a sitcom even at night. after 15 seasons, all the fear and grittiness and tension had been sucked out of the narrative. it devolved from a story about choosing free will over destiny into a story about whether or not having free will is even possible after you’ve discovered that god has personally controlled your whole life. the transformation from “classic kripke era” supernatural into “network controlled never-ending” supernatural was literally played out in the storyline of the show itself. it’s unbelievable.

He waits for Dean to talk about it, about any of it: the magazine, Benny’s combativeness, the tension that’s rolling off Dean’s back in waves—but he doesn’t. Instead, he places battered fish and asparagus in front of Castiel and tips back into his own chair, eating with a carefully blank face. 

So Castiel picks up his fork and does the same. 

He promised Sam that he’d look out for Dean. But now, sitting here with something complicated between them, he doesn’t even know what that means anymore. He doesn’t even know what the ‘something complicated’ is . The air between them just feels heavy and muddy, and he can’t figure out how to broach the topic. If there even is one.

He glances across the table. Even as he glares at his asparagus like it’s personally wronged him, there’s no denying that Dean’s handsome. Disarmingly so. Castiel has known that since their first meeting. It wasn’t ever supposed to be a problem , or a thing that sparked attraction on Castiel’s end, or turn into some sort of contest for Dean’s affection when Benny showed up. 

This job wasn’t meant to be complicated. This place was meant to be simple: somewhere to stay, isolated and alone, waiting for fate to toll the bell. Nothing more.

Do you think Danneel Abuses Jensen?

Hello Anon, thank you for the ask. Before I proceed with answering your question I am going to make this clear. On my blog I have more or less criticized their clear lack of genuine chemistry, admittedly talked about Danneel's looks in a critical way as I don't believe her hair color is flattering on her, her sometimes frankly poor public behavior, and notated Jensen's clear contempt of her in multiple posts. You're free to check my pinned posts for my criticisms of Danneel and even Jensen as a couple or as some would say "Jenneel". When it comes to abuse however do understand that it's not as clear cut on the outside as people believe it is. I'm going to structure the post with some posts and "evidence" that suggests Danneel is abusive and then others that suggest that Jensen could be at times too. Question is, if there happens to be abuse happening behind closed doors, who is the real victim and who is the real perpetrator?

* Some past posts here on Tumblr suggest that Danneel is indeed abusive. It's been said that Danneel was known for using SPN staff to babysit their children while she visited Jensen on the set. Rumors have it that Danneel was banned from the set at one point for years due to her poor behavior.

This post an Anon sent to another Tumblr user from a said medium who reads photos stated "Also, in my opinion, Elta Danneel Graul belongs in jail."

This post talks about Jensen having a bruise on his nose back in 2019. One version of the story according to one commenter says that he claimed to have dropped something on it while at FBBC and another while swimming with the kids. Make of that what you will but I do know when people are being inconsistent with where the got an injury from, they are hiding the truth.

If you believe Danneel is using certain SPN ships to get more attention to herself, you may like this post and conclude that she may be using Jenmisheel and heller fans to gain attention and therefore also money for herself. It also talks about her poor behavior towards her fans some.

There are other posts that more or less speculate on how Danneel is likely manipulating Jensen and lying about things. For example, this one talks about how Danneel likely lied about trying to set Jensen and Sophie Bush up initially because I'm not sure what their reasoning is ha ha, just because? I think the studios can try to push actors together and such but unless someone's holding a gun to their heads you can't make people date. Also, the whole falling in love on the set of Ten Inch Hero is an interesting story (that seemingly is starting to unravel), as it seems to be around when they started to date. This post another user found of a news clipping of Danneel suggesting she lied about growing up Catholic instead of Baptist. Because a history of being a liar means someone is a manipulative narcissist, right?

I know of at least one post where Danneel has criticized him for things relating to his diet and therefore also body shaming him with this Tumblr post serving as a receipt of an Instagram post where this seems to be the case.

There are of course multiple posts talking about Danneel being a cheater and how both of them were dating other people when they first met on the set of Ten Inch Hero (TIH for short), like this one. It's been said that she talked about on one of the Drama Queens Podcasts she admitted to kissing someone on the elevator... while dating Jensen. "Is it really cheating...", I believe it was this podcast. Is cheating abuse? No but it certainly isn't a nice thing to do.

Lots of critics pointed out how Danneel was not there to support her husband after the shooting on the set of Rust. He admitted during the interrogation that he can't really talk to Danneel about it because "it freaks her out". She has no problems flying to places like Rome but can't fly out to another state after a shooting happened on the set of a movie Jensen was a part of? Hmmm...

* On the other hand, I do not believe Jensen is at all innocent either. I don't see many posts about Jensen being abusive but have seen and heard multiple clips where he is not painted in the best light as far as being a husband goes. Other things suggest he just may have a bad temper behind closed doors and can be destructive of property.

During the 2018 Montreal convention, Jensen admitted to having kicked in a door at a hotel he was staying at late at night, as the door key was not opening the door and the hotel manager was unable to unlock it as well. "Dean just came out" is one thing he said while telling this story. I also for the life of me cannot find this website for some reason that was from 14ish years ago but I recall reading on a forum site earlier this year that Jensen and Danneel had a fight one night that resulted in him throwing a phone and it breaking.

I've heard of things from other Tumblr users, such as how Danneel will tell him things like how Jensen puts dishes by the sink and not dishwasher (can't find the video of where he said this), Jensen didn't clean the house at all when Danneel was sick with COVID, barely ever if at all changed diapers, etc.

Jensen seems to hold a lot of contempt for Danneel, multiple posts of which with videos, photos, etc. are on my index page pinned to my blog under "Couples Goals LOL!". However, this article is noteworthy of a mention here, as he jokes about Danneel being his sugar baby when he is gone filming. Other rumors have it that Jensen sometimes yells at his kids when feeling impatient or doesn't want to hear them talk. Make of it what you will but Jensen has been portrayed as being a very lazy and selfish husband and father on multiple occasions. Not a nice way to talk about your wife either bro...

In this clip here, Jensen clearly ignored Danneel's attempt for her to affectionately wrap his arm around his at the premiere for The Backup Plan. Also, at one con in recent months he mentioned how Danneel talked about him using his face to get seated at a restaurant and he admitted he told her to "shut her mouth". Very nice...... and I mean that with the utmost sarcasm. On Supernatural Day back on 6/23/2018, Jensen looks clearly annoyed at Danneel who wanted to leave but he had promised to sign something for a fan. The annoyance he has for her here instead of simply saying "hold on, I promised her I'd sign this for her, I'll be right back". At least he's more friendly with fans but has no issues embarrassing his wife in public.

During the Charlotte main J2 panel, Jensen talked about how he essentially didn't text the driver back after he walked away from the track when the car he was in had engine failure. He asked Danneel very early in the morning about her and the kids coming with and she declined. At the very least, it was extremely rude behavior on his part. Point is, this is one of multiple examples where Jensen too has some very poor public behavior.

I answered this ask a couple days ago regarding if I believe any moves have been made for Jensen and Danneel to divorce. I talked about how Danneel was at some point removed from FBBC paperwork. It turns out the site I forgot the name of is opencorporates.com, which does indeed show that Danneel and Gino's dad and someone else was removed in 2021 from FBBC as owners and such. A while back, someone else showed me screenshots where Danneel has been removed from most of Jensen's LLCs except for Chaos Machines Productions including one talent agency. The question here is, does this mean a divorce is in the works? Or... does it mean removing assets from Danneel's name outside of real estate which can mean bad things for her in terms of sources of income should they divorce. It could also mean making her more dependent on him financially, as she is no longer a named owner or member of LLCs he/they opened together. I personally cannot see how Danneel could possibly be controlling Jensen in terms of finances or even in forcing Jensen to stay married particularly if many of the assets in fact belong to Jensen ultimately not Danneel.

Now, here I am going to briefly touch on some signs of someone experiencing domestic abuse. I only pointed to some of many posts on here but wanted to provide some highlights to keep this answer as close to a reasonable length to read as possible ha ha [source].

1. A person changes their typical behavior

2. A person develops new mental health symptoms

3. One person makes all the decisions

4. A person is isolated from friends and family

5. One partner controls all the money

6. There are frequent put-downs and criticisms

7. One partner pressures the other

8. There’s violence or threats of violence

9. One partner is love bombing

Of course, there are other sources out there about domestic violence, such as this website below. I am going to let people form their own opinions as to who the victim here is and who the perpetrator here is or if they simply bring out the worst of each other and would be better people separated...

ok so turns out last episode we delved more into character backstory AND the overarching plot

Eliot was a farm-boy before getting becoming a bruiser, and i don't know why that is so funny to me (yes i do). my only question is when did he decide to go into that kind of business. was he an underground boxer or something? did he move to the city to "make a name for himself" but instead got into the mafia or something?

out of all the characters, this man is the one i want to know more about just because he never explains himself. oh, he recognized the fighting style of that mercenary? how sir??? oh you've been in this business for some time? how long sir????

this big insurance company is definitely the big bad. if they are the ones that our crew faces in the season's finale, i wouldn't be shocked. i would a little disappointed because these guys seem more like a s3 type of big bad that you build and build for some more seasons.

the actor who plays sterling is so familiar to me. i feel like i've seen him but he looked older than now. was he in spn? i think he was. i don't watch spn, but i've seen enough gifs to know the cast.

general thoughts:

i really thought this episode would center on the clergy and all of that, but that's a too big topic to even cover for one episode. not to mention that that issue covers more than the US and i don't think the leverage crew will go international with their heisting yet.

and this did a great job covering how a lot of poorer communities get screwed over by bigger corporations seeking to expand their commercial empire. ALSO how most of their issues comes with underfunded infrastructure that local governments ignore, giving those corporations such a "great" reason to state their case on why those buildings/neighborhoods should be torn down.

AND it even touched on how quickly things that should be considered marvels are so easily commercialized in this day and age. grant was so ready to turn that church into the next disneyland which 1) is sacrilegious and 2) is such a shallow view on miracles. but hey, that's what US brands have done with Christmas soooooooo it wouldn't be surprising to see someone try to do that with a crying statue.

we even get the discussion of intention vs action because THAT is a hot topic in the Catholic community. do the ends justify the means? do the means justify the ends? and while they kind of leave that question in the air for the audience to decide for themselves, it kind of ends with the episode leaning more on the intention's side. Father Paul broke his vow and revealed what he knew when Nathan confessed because he felt that it was the right thing to do (intention: do right by his church and conscience; action: break the vow of silence a priest makes for confessionals). Our band of thieves framed Grant in order to keep the church's integrity and save the neighborhood. Both acts are considered bad, but both were done with the intention to do good.

so yeah, it was a fun episode, my ot3 trio are going strong. and i can't wait for more!

Why did you choose your URL: I’m a diehard Foo Fighters fan. When I came back to Tumblr after a 4yr hiatus, Foo’s album Concrete and Gold had just come out, and the first single was “The Sky Is A Neighborhood” with the verse:

What inspired you to become a writer: I love telling stories, both verbally and written. What’s kept me motivated is connecting with people through shared experiences, making people laugh, and making life-long friends as a result of those connections.

How long have you been writing: I’ve been writing since I was 8- or 9-years-old!

What do you do when you are not writing i.e. Job/Hobbies etc? I sell mortgages for a living, laugh and enjoy life with my husband, hike with my dogs, talk smack with my friends and family. I recently hosted a group of fandom friends here in the Rocky Mountains in a big house, where we did all of the above at one point or another, and it was such a joy.

How long have you been in the SPN Fandom? It feels like I’ve been here forever. I was reading Dean/Faith Lehane fic back in 2008 and I’ve been laughing at memes on Tumblr since as long as I’ve been on Tumblr (this is my fourth blog), but I didn’t start actively watching the show until 2015 (-ish?). I truly joined SPN fandom when I started writing SPN fic in the spring of 2018, so a little over 3yrs.

Are you in any other fandoms and do you write for them? Yes! I was active in The X-Files fandom for years via forums, chat rooms, and geocites (it was the 90s and early aughts, after all lol), but never wrote for it; Buffy and Angel in the same manner as well as LiveJournal and wrote a little; I was active in Twilight fandom for a few years and wrote fic there, once sitting on a Twific panel at SDCC; I’ve been peripherally active in several of Norman Reedus’ fandoms and written for him and his roles; and currently, I’m active in SPN, The Boys, anything Jensen does, Ted Lasso (I have fic ideas), MCU and other Marvel media, Star Wars and all things associated (especially Din Djarin’s tiny green bebe Grogu), Lucifer, anything Keanu Reeves does, and super fucking excited for my boy Pattinson in The Batman.

Do you do any writing outside of fanfiction? If so, tell us about it? I am working on a sort of fictionalized memoir based on my family and my relationships throughout my life. My sister and I have a lot of stories to tell, so we’ve been piecing together a concept for the past couple of years!

Have you ever read a book that made an impact on your life? Which one and why?: Several. I will say, however, that neither Postcards from the Edge nor Wishful Drinking by Carrie Fisher ever leave my bedside.

Carrie had such a gift with words and expression. She struggled with mental illness, loss, and addiction; she was a soul sister.

Favorite genre of fanfic (smut, angst, fluff, crack, rpf, etc): I’ll read just about any genre, but I seem to gravitate toward explicit content, both to read and write.

Run Me Like A River - AU Dean Winchester x AU Jessica Jones

Summary: AU wherein Jessica Jones is super-powered by gov’t experiments to create elite soldiers, the Winchesters are military officers in humanity’s War Against Evil, and they have all gone AWOL from their assigned roles. Dean and Jess embark in a relationship that ends abruptly and explosively until Dean calls her for help on a very personal case.

Do you have anyone you consider a mentor? Hmm, Idk about mentor, but I probably wouldn’t be writing fic and I certainly wouldn’t be sharing it without having @icemankazansky @mskathywriteswords and @cracksinthewalls in my life who have each supported and encouraged me through the years in ways that have been absolutely essential to my confidence and competence.

Do you have any aspirations involving your writing? Some day, I want to be able to tell My Story, if I can ever figure out what that is. lolllll

How many work-in-progress stories do you have: Oh, lord, a dozen? Maybe more.

What are you currently working on? The final installment for a 3-part FWB to lovers Dean x female reader AU, some Soldier Boy fuckery, and I’m trying to work up the gumption to get back to my Sam x female reader AU series. I also have a ton of AWESOME prompts from tumblr friends and from Bingos and Challenges that are just waiting for me to not be such a disaster.

What/who has had the biggest influence on your writing? Style-wise -- songwriters like Jim Morrison, Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, Dave Grohl, Trent Reznor, and Josh Homme; content-wise -- the feelings and experiences of my life like love, loss, heartbreak, lust, and trauma.

Best writing advice you've been given: Just get the words down; you can edit it later!

Biggest obstacle you’ve faced in your writing: When I jump the gun and think I know where I’m headed but then hit a roadblock and have gotten too far ahead to figure out how to back up!

What aspects of writing do you find difficult when you write fanfiction? Series. I have shit patience so I post too soon sometimes and the next thing I know I’ve hit a wall and the damn thing is stalled.

Is there anything you want to write but are afraid to (and why)? There are things I want to write but haven’t figured out yet, but I’m not really afraid of writing anything.

What inspires/motivates you to write? Human connection, reader feedback, my friends.

How do you deal with self doubt? Go back and re-read things I’ve written that I remember loving and the feedback from readers that touched my heart. I talk to my friends, too.

How do you deal with writer's block? Walk it off, make graphics, ask for insight, read something fresh and different.

Do you plan/outline your story before you start? I try to and I want to get better at this, especially for series’, but I don’t do it enough!

Do you have any weird writing habits? Idk how weird it is per se, but my usual habits include making playlists and graphics and talking out my ass about anything and everything related to the concepts or themes. I’m all about the vibes and aesthetics.

Have you ever received hateful comments on your fic and how do you deal with it? Not really. I had a woman several years ago harass me for being “irresponsible” with the main characters because they had sex without contraception and it was a one-weekend stand, but I just listened to and talked it out with her.

Conversely: what’s been some of your favorite feedback on your fanfic? Most recently I received an incredibly in depth and thoughtful observation on one of my darker and more personal fics that was so spot on that it made me cry. But I can’t not mention my long-time beta here since she is my beta because of her consistently detailed and thoughtful feedback for more than 10 years. She’s been with me ever since.

If you could give one piece of advice to a new and/or struggling writer, what would it be? Surround yourself with people you trust and respect and who feel the same about you so that you are able to be vulnerable, try new things and fail, and grow.

something about the way, in the first 5 seasons of “supernatural”, while chuck is in the picture as merely a prophet, “supernatural” is just an in-universe book series. sure, there are nods to real world fandom things, like sam girls and dean girls, notorious episodes like “bugs” (though they’re referenced as books, not episodes), etc.

but suddenly, from season 6 onwards (bless the spn wiki for this list), there are references to “supernatural” as a tv show. we have “the french mistake”. we have crowley saying things like ‘castiel, haven’t seen you all season’ (“caged heat”) and ‘exit stage crowley’ (“the man who knew too much”). we have castiel looking directly at the camera and addressing the audience when he says ‘let me tell you everything’ (“the man who would be king”). we have the alpha vampire saying to dean ‘see you next season’ and dean saying ‘look forward to it’ (“there will be blood”). we have dean asking castiel ‘what show you been watching?’ (“sacrifice”). we have “meta fiction”. we have dean referring to the ‘girl of the week’ (“somewhere between heaven and hell”). we have chuck saying sam and dean are ‘his favourite show’ (“moriah”). we have chuck watching tv screens with scenes we, the audience, have seen in episodes and referring to ‘cancelling shows’ (“galaxy brain”). we have chuck saying he’s ‘cancelling their show’ (“inherit the earth”).

there’s something in the fact that, as soon as chuck revealed himself as god to the audience at the end of “swan song”, while the book series “supernatural” still existed in-universe, it also became a self-aware tv show, breaking the fourth wall with dialogue, shots, references, and even episode titles. there’s something about the fact that, as soon as god went from being an invisible and incorporeal force to a physical character, “supernatural” went from making a few ‘wink wink nudge nudge’ references to its audience via the in-universe book series to a fourth-wall-breaking self-aware show. 

before the end of season 5, when chuck was still acting out the part of a prophet, there were meta episodes and references, but once chuck went from a prophet to god, the characters either showed moments of awareness that they were, in fact, fictional tv show characters, or there were whole episodes dedicated to the nature of the show itself. there’s just something in that.

my fav pairings will always be idiots to lovers. like the more oblivious the better. so crackships are encouraged. like especially characters who have never met in canon. i am there with popcorn

for crossovers, like it gets hard to find the niche fic that soothes my rabid soul but a few gen fics are golden

Some basic stuff about Claire Novak as I play her. Some of these headcanons are from back when I first started playing her (before she came back on SPN), some have developed as I've played her over time:

Sophie Hallow (@storiieswoven) is Claire's bff in every verse. Sophie and Claire are a set, and if you don't love Soph you can't love Claire

Claire's dad, Jimmy, is dead. She does not acknowledge Castiel as being her dad and deeply resents him

Depending on verse, Amelia Novak is either dead, or instutionalized (from being traumatized when Jimmy came back that one time)

She has a little angel grace left in her soul from when she was very briefly Castiel's vessel. It helps heal her; there might be other powers granted by the small bit of grace, but she'll never test them because she doesn't want a graced soul. She doesn't know how to stop the healing, otherwise she wouldn't use it

She really hated the Winchesters. Especially Dean. After being a hunter herself, she starts to forgive them, though

She will sass angels and demons. She hates them more than she hated Dean and Castiel tbh

Claire does not like people touching her without her permission. She will fucking fight if you touch her, even if you're not being aggressive

She's not interested in sex unless she knows you really well. She has to trust you to be willing to do that. She was sexually exploited and abused by the older man not to long before she met Sophie, and she's never really dealt with it.

She doesn't talk about her feelings unless she trusts you.

Dean gave Cas the silent treatment (8x22); Ryan gave Sophie the silent treatment, too (x)

Luke gives Ryan a hard time about flirting with Sophie (x) aka being in the middle and seeing what is really going on, Luke interrupting emotionally intimate moments between Ryan and Sophie (x); Sam being in the middle

Ryan was mad at Sophie for something she did that not only hurt her personally but also screwed up their plans regarding a villain and 'made things worse'; the above SPN scene is happening because Dean is mad at Cas foor doing something that could cause worse ripple effects for them & Cas is mad because he feels Dean is wrong to be angry and it had to be done to save the Winchesters

Sophie asks Ryan what she wants (x) vs "Why do you always want what you can't have?" (14x10) & "The one thing I want is something I know I can't have" (15x18)

Sophie is briefly upset (more worried) at Ryan when she almost died (x); Dean is brielfy upset with Cas for almost dying again (15x13), Dean's reaction to Cas going dark (12x19); Dean tells Cas not to get dead again (13x19)

When Dean sees Cas for the first time, he doesn't remember that Cas saved him from Hell, their relationship starts out as somewhat antagonistic; when viewers meet Ryan, she has a history with Sophie since Sophie was the one who arrested her and interrogated her which led to her going to prison, their relationship starts out as somewhat antagonistic due to this fact

In the Armageddon arc in The Flash, Ryan in the future talks about having a child with Sophie and after speaking with Iris, she decides she wants to adopt to give another child the same chance that she was given by Cora and will talk to Sophie when she gets back to Gotham; Dean and Cas are literally raising Jack together (with Sam)

I'm sure there's more examples and comparisons but ultimately, it comes down to this: how do people still not see that they framed Dean and Cas as romantic? Even before Cas' (romantic) confession in 15x18?

Plus, Sam was always the third wheel and now Luke is, too 😂
