Marchil crumbs part 7
Part 1 - Part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6
They made bonus illustrations for the Blu-ray. Idk what to make of this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kui don’t do this to me…….. The placement <3
1) Trigger please elaborate. Speak on that. Huh. In the other Bluray illustrations with duos the characters aren’t blushing like this…?? This sure is a choice. Very normal. No tension in the air.
2) Those were assorted fullbodies she did for advertisements for a Dunmeshi cafe event in Shibuya, that she then put in the Complete Adventurer’s Bible… They line up so well that it looks like they’re interacting together it’s so cute.
Chilchuck having torrid tension with Marcille’s crepe Do you think Chilchuck was in Marcille’s shot behind/besides her food… Is he looking at her like that because he’s being sassy about having to wait on her, or is he using his watch as an excuse to steal glances at her… Did Marcille call out to him to be like "hey get in the shot!!" and get pics of their coffeeshop date out in town…
Cooking soap together for the fate of Senshi’s beard
Tumblr media
I could have SWORN I’ve talked about this page below in the crumbs post before but apparently not. Ok so first of all this is peak them strategizing together. They seek each other out to plan out their next move- And this is soon after she did ancient magic! It’s after Chilchuck’s most important character moment, where he admits that he cares about the party and things aren’t purely professional, so that helps him move on from keeping her at arm’s length due to the very illegal scary thing she did I think, but besides that! This still shows a very strong bond of trust and respect between the two, that he values her input even still. Also supported in this chapter by how he felt the need to keep tabs on Laios and Senshi to not get them all killed but Marcille letting it slip about what she did or anything didn’t even enter his mind as I went over in part 2.
Okok but more in depth… I’m spoiling a future analysis of mine with this too but remember this panel? And who might be the personalization itself of projecting gentlemanly, heroic good will while having hidden/manipulative intentions? I’ve never known what to make of Kabru smiling at her and more importantly her blushing at him here… Until I realized that he really fits her ideal type from what we can extrapolate: He looks rather feminine and is seemingly very gallant/gentlemanly, very charismatic, and was raised by elves so has a grasp on etiquette. And yet, she only gives his smile a passing glance before going back to strategizing with Chilchuck— Because unlike what her reputation as someone frivolous who idealizes and romanticizes anything like in her storybooks, she can put rationality above aesthetics. Because she values Chilchuck and his input much more than she ever would a pretty face alone, the aesthetic of a prince charming. Because she knows he was right, at least partly, and knows where her actual allies lie. She doesn’t waver, and she chooses Chilchuck. A part of her arc is to judge by acts more than looks, and this is very much a part of it I think, Chilchuck cares and wants to help much more than someone who might look kinder or more welcoming.
Tumblr media
Ehem sorry for going off Now that I reread the full scene this might be one of my fave marchil moments as weird as that might be… Chilchuck seeing her hesitance and explaining to her what’s going on without being prompted, sticking together out of everyone on the battlefield, them so easily slipping into strategizing with each other without the rest of the group. I never noticed the whole comedy of corpses falling around them and them keeping talking together lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok so merch wise they’re making hair clips! And there are 4 sets of two, it’s always Marcille with a different hairstyle and a different party member (for one of the four sets the other is a walking mushroom). Here’s the Marcille & Chil one! You can now have them in your hair yippee
Tumblr media
I never put this one in a crumbs part but it’s funny so might as well, for as much as they care for each other and Marcille’s been shown to be very worried for & careful with Chilchuck the dainty rogue™️ the second he becomes a tallman without his cute face suddenly it’s FREE GAME. Their bestieship is so strong for them to be able to brush this incident right off and strategize like they’re close knit so soon after this lol.
Tumblr media
Love a duo that will just trip onto their face in the same page. Cringefail.
Matching frog skin fits yayyyy!! <3 (Also stop making him look at her in ads I’ll die)
Tumblr media
STOP ITTTTT
Tumblr media
I had always assumed in the ‘feeding liver to Marcille’ part that Laios was always the one feeding her because the hands and speech bubbles aren’t clear in the manga scene, but the anime makes it clear that everyone does it after the other. So here’s Chil’s turn. Asking after if she liked it and encouraging to eat more is cute too. There’s also obviously how panicked he is to see her in danger earlier in the ep, but idk if I already showed that manga panel in an earlier comp
Tumblr media
And woohoo the anime made this interaction between them even more sus!! Why. Why are you looking at each other like that. Stop people could misunderstand
Tumblr media
Protecting her from the monster food
Tumblr media
Thank you for the food episode 10. Made me notice a healing/caing moment I’d never paid attention to before!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Huh your hands seem okay" ARE YOU SURE… They’re so cute when they team up together oml, hassling Senshi instead of each other lmaoo. Love how they made her look at him all happy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wish I could put the screenshots for the whole sequence here but. How to hook and reel in your Chilchuck.
Tumblr media
In chapter 97 cover they took the seats facing each other this time again <3 Like in the golden kingdom. It’s a recurring thing. Seemingly he’s looking at Falin so involved in the same conversation at her? :> Oh it’d be cute if he was the one who made her laugh sob, he looks like he just cracked a wise joke.
Tumblr media
Today’s healing touch
Tumblr media
Dude you are going to die let her go
Tumblr media
They changed the gesture Marcille did to chide Chil here, instead of having her hand on his shoulder and tapping his head she gives him an elbow nudge. Idm the change this is so cute too. Also Chil extending her his sympathies
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not a crumb tbh but the way this was his POV during the Marcille vs Thistle fight is hilarious to me. No wonder he thought she was bonkers
Tumblr media
Not the way these quote keychains are set up… Every protagonist has their own EXCEPT Chil’s who includes Marcille, and it’s one of my fav marchil moments I looove being validated that this scene is important
Tumblr media
And to finish it up, the manga scene of this exchange in the anime that really stole my heart. They’re so fond of each other aw. Teasing on the job is free, her expression here is so cute, rare reversal of their roles in the dynamic
Tumblr media
More crumbs soon! Not many in here yet (edit: at the time of first posting) but I was dying to post it with the modern cutouts art (I have so much fanart planned based on it hehe) but then the bluray illustration came out and fucking one hit KOd me. I am not that strong. I am only human.
Tumblr media
They didn’t blush here in the manga guysss

𝙼𝙴𝙴𝚃 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙼𝚄𝙽𝚂𝙾𝙽𝚂 - chapter 4: photograph.
𝚜𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚖𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚕𝚒𝚜𝚝
𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚜𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢 - eddie is characteristically transparent about how much fun he's having ruining your life, but you're more guarded than ever as your true feelings become harder and harder to deny.
𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍 𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚝 - 4.6k
𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 - accidental touching of... personal areas lmao, an inconvenient erection, male masturbation, dirty magazines, mention of semi-public sex, ever so slightest hint of voyeurism (but instead of seeing it's hearing?), more of reader's issues getting revealed, eddie being sliiiightly pervy at times but mostly just making dirty jokes
Tumblr media
You blinked your eyes open, squinting against a blurry view of the living room cast in that pale light of the early morning.  For a second, you wondered why you were here, until the events of last night came back all at once.
Dreamt about Dad.  Moved to the couch.  Watched TV.  Eddie showed up…
Eddie, right.  Your eyes glanced to the side, remembering he’d been sitting under your feet, but he was gone now.  You sighed slightly, gaze moving back to Barry the bear who was wrapped up in your arms close to your chest.  You gave him a kiss on the head, only then remembering that was the same place Eddie kissed him yesterday.
The TV was still on, just near-silent static now, and knew Eddie wouldn’t have left for school yet— maybe he just went back to bed, you couldn’t blame him for that.  There was this weird feeling in your stomach, it was almost like… no.  You didn’t miss him, right?  That would be beyond bizarre.
‘Cause, you know, it’s Eddie— loud and obnoxious and invasive and annoying.  He didn’t always smell springtime fresh, either, even forgetting the cigarettes (which you couldn’t forget anyways, because he always came home reeking of them).  He made a mess in your room, he made fun of you, he made you feel weird and strange and you really didn’t like feeling anything.  So, yeah, it would be pretty odd to miss Eddie just because he left the couch at some point after you fell asleep.  Shit, I should make sure he didn’t draw on my face with marker or something, you realized, because that seemed like exactly his move— but just then, the clock struck six.  That only matters because it meant that the six o’clock news began, which only matters because you must have sat on the remote or something— it was insanely loud, startling you out of your skin.
“TOP OF THE HOUR, THIS IS THE SIX A.M. NEWS—” the anchor bellowed, the loud chime of the station’s news hour just as deafening, and you let out a scream instinctively in reaction to the sudden noise.  You were trying to find the remote so you could turn it down or even just off, but your legs had fallen asleep at some point during the night on this tiny couch, and, well, you weren’t especially coordinated in the wee hours of the morning, just scared out of still being half asleep…
And that was how you fell off the couch.
Correction: that was how you fell off the couch and onto Eddie.
“Mornin’, sunshine,” Eddie greeted with a purr as he grinned up at you, hands settling on your hips as you realized what that firm heat against your thigh, through his pajama pants and the thin blanket on his lap, actually was.
Several things happened at once, then.  You swatted Eddie’s hand off of your hips, face starting to burn with embarrassment; Eddie found the remote and muted the TV; and Wayne came storming in in just his stained undershirt and boxers, clearly still half-asleep yet emphatically wielding a baseball bat.
“What’s goin’ on?!” he slurred.
“Nothing— nothing!” you insisted.
“Heard you scream!” Wayne explained.  “And there was— a man’s voice?”
“That was just the news, gramps,” Eddie informed him with a smirk.  “You thought Chuck Anderson broke into our house?”
Wayne leaned in and peeked at the TV, seeing the aforementioned anchorman silently explaining some important news story, and sighed.  “Sorry, I just— what did you scream for?”
He looked at you both, and raised an eyebrow.  It seemed that that was the moment everyone collectively realized you were still straddling Eddie’s lap; you jumped up and off of him in a blink, pulling your nightgown down to cover your thighs.
“I— it was— it’s not— we didn’t—” you started over probably a thousand times before Eddie finally saved you.
“She was startled by the news coming on,” Eddie explained to Wayne, who relaxed a bit and lowered the bat with a nod.  “Guess you’re both a couple of scaredy-cats.”
“Yeah, guess so,” Wayne agreed.  “G’morning, by the way.”
“Sorry I woke you up,” you blinked quickly, holding your arms across your chest.
“S’fine, sweetheart,” he shook his head.  “I’m… I’ll just go back to bed…”
And he wandered back to the master bedroom, you and Eddie waiting with bated breath until you heard his door shut; Eddie sighed through a grin as he looked up at you, sitting on the carpet with his upper body propped up by his hands behind his hips.  “He likes you way more than he likes me,” Eddie informed you, “if I woke him up like that before he had to go to work, he’d start yelling about how I need to quiet down, boy!”
You weren’t paying attention to any of that, including his impression of Wayne’s more pronounced accent— instead, you swung your leg and kicked Eddie on the arm, making him yelp and grab his bicep.
“Hey!” he frowned at you.
“Fuck are you doing on the floor?!” you whined, kicking him again.  “You scared me half to death!  I fell on you!”
“Yeah, I noticed,” he laughed proudly.  “Next time you wanna jump my bones, feel free to wake me up before you start.  Just a heads up, I like getting yelled at.”
“Shut up,” you snapped, snatching the blanket off the couch to cover yourself with— your pajamas weren’t that revealing or anything, you just suddenly felt sort of exposed with Eddie looking at you like that.  “You’re disgusting.”
“Yeah, that’s a good start,” he hummed, biting his lip.
“I fucking hate it here,” you grumbled under your breath as you stormed off to your bedroom, dragging the blanket behind you like a cape.  Your room was a little darker than the rest of the house still, since it had darker curtains than the living room window, and you wished that would be enough to let you get back to sleep— but your heart was still racing.
You were about to slam the door behind you but Eddie grabbed it first.  “Don’t forget Barry,” he reminded you, holding the bear out, and you snatched it away quickly.
It’s hard to say what compelled you to glance down, but when you did, your throat went dry at the sight of the bulge in his pants.  “Jesus Christ, Eddie!” you yelped, slamming your hand down over your mouth first, then your eyes.  “Can’t you cover that up?”
“U-uh, sorry,” he mumbled, grabbing a picture frame off of your desk and holding it over his crotch.
“Why are you—?  God, I don’t even wanna know…” you trailed off.
“Just how guys wake up,” he insisted, “don’t take it too personally.”
“I won’t,” you promised, turning around and walking towards the bed.
“Hey, what if I wanna go back to sleep, too?” he asked.
“You seemed just fine on the floor,” you returned, kicking the door shut behind you so it slammed in his face.
You collapsed onto your bed face-down.  Though you knew you had no chance of sleeping now, you shut your eyes and just tried to think about anything else— anyone else.
Just when it seemed like maybe you and Eddie could get along, he had to ruin it with raunchy jokes and that smug grin of his.  Just when, for a split second, you saw him in a new way, he fell back on old habits.  Truly, Eddie Munson hadn’t changed much since high school: he was just as goofy and self-assured as you remembered, if anything even more boisterous.
You hadn’t changed much, either; though you’d never admit it, even to yourself, he still made this strange feeling stir in your chest.  You still wished you could be more like him— more irreverent, more confident.
Having him here was bringing back all those old feelings, all those memories you’d buried of watching him grandstand in the cafeteria or ignore bullies and jocks or do something stupid to make his friends laugh.  All those times you’d seen him and felt this sick feeling in your stomach because he just didn’t care what people thought of him and you couldn’t imagine how.  He almost seemed to enjoy the negative attention, he craved it, he invited it!  That was why you hated Eddie— because he didn’t have this need to please everyone that you did.  He looked so free.  You hated him the way a bird in a cage must hate the others it sees in the tree through the window; you hated him for breaking all the rules you’d imposed on yourself.
You spoke it in your mind over and over like a mantra: I hate Eddie Munson, I hate Eddie Munson.
But it wasn’t working.
Tumblr media
The next morning was a much-needed reprieve from the chaos.
When you woke up, Eddie was already at school, Wayne was at work, and it was just you and your mom— you know, how life was before everything went bonkers?  Best of all, you didn’t have class until the afternoon and it was one of your days off from your relatively-new job at the Rite Aid photo counter, meaning you could actually enjoy a quiet morning.  You could pretend everything was normal for a while, and so you did, waking up on your own terms and getting up eventually to step out into the hallway and follow it until you found your mom standing by the stove.
“Morning, honey!” she greeted sweetly.
“Morning,” you returned, sitting at the breakfast bar, and adding, relevantly: “what’s for breakfast?”
“Fried eggs and bacon,” she replied— not your favorite, but you didn’t have to cook it, so you weren’t complaining.  “How much do you want?”
“Two eggs, one strip, please,” you answered; a moment later, a plate to your exact specifications appeared— arranged, of course, in a smiley face.  Apparently, you still weren’t too old for that.  You said thank you before digging in, of course, but mainly you were just focused on how everything tasted better when it wasn’t a “family meal.”
"You want some orange juice, honey?" she asked.
"Not if it's got Munson germs on it," you grimaced, recalling that time you caught Eddie drinking straight from the carton one morning, and she laughed.
"It's a new carton, I just bought it last night."
"Then I'd better enjoy it while it's still untainted, huh?" you smirked.  She poured you a glass, and you quietly made it through your first meal of the day.
When all that was left of your food was half a strip of bacon and the traces of runny yolk on white porcelain, you got up out of your chair and stretched.  “Thanks for the food, mom,” you offered politely, but of course, she wanted more in return than just thanks.
“Sweetie, will you get yours and Eddie’s sheets and put them in the laundry, please?” she asked.
“Sure,” you replied, taking the last swig of your orange juice before setting the glass down and returning to your room.
You started by stripping your sheets and tossing them into a pile on the floor before climbing the ladder to untuck Eddie’s next.  Of course, they were in total disarray, and you found a Walkman and some candy bar wrappers tangled up in them.  That, though, was nothing compared to when you pulled the fitted sheet out from around his mattress and saw something dark and glossy slide out from the side of the frame.  Leaning in, you pulled it out all the way but dropped it in disgust when you realized you were holding a porno mag.
“Ewwww,” you whispered to yourself, lifting the mattress to find another left open to a page where two women were on top of each other in bed, open-mouthed and just about to kiss, nude spare for the one sporting some fuzzy handcuffs.  “Bet you read this one for the articles, huh, Ed?” you mumbled to yourself, turning the page just to grimace at the picture of a blonde spread eagle— she wasn’t blonde everywhere, though.
A weird feeling twisted in your chest, one you couldn’t describe or even name.  I don’t look anything like these girls, you kept thinking, but you weren’t sure why that mattered at all.
You really considered throwing them out— you could already imagine walking in on Eddie rifling through his bedsheets, before shooting you a sharp glare and yelling did you touch my stuff, again?!  And you’d say I found your stash, perv and he’d grab your shoulders and start the interrogation: What’d you do with them? And you’d shrug and glance at the trash can, just for him to growl you know, just because you’re a prude doesn’t mean you can go around trashing my porn.
You smiled to yourself; that actually sounded kinda fun.  But no, you could skip the whole ordeal and just leave them neatly stacked under the mattress after you put new sheets on it, a silent message that you saw his filth and let it be.  You hoped he’d be even just an ounce embarrassed, but you weren’t sure if Eddie even had the capability for shame; you were surprised he even had the discretion to hide the magazines under his mattress in the first place!  Especially considering you’d already overheard his… evening activities once or twice.  Like that very first week, when you kicked his bed— you remembered that like it was yesterday, even though Eddie and Wayne had been here over a month now.
To his credit, he’d been more thoughtful since then, apparently waiting longer for you to fall asleep or just doing it while you weren’t home.  What Eddie didn’t know was that you’d heard him again— but you didn’t say anything, you didn’t whisper-yell at him to cut it out or kicked the underside of his mattress.  You weren’t sure why, but you just… listened.
It was faint anyways, for the first couple minutes you kept wondering if you were really hearing what you thought you were— but then you heard him spit, presumably into his hand.  And you figured he didn’t just do that to pass the time.
The memory made that feeling come back, the heavy one in your stomach that was warm and yet made you shiver.  You’d listened silently, not even stirring in your bed in case it would make him stop; you’d clenched your thighs together, shutting your eyes and tuning in to every sigh, every hiss through his teeth, every wet sticky sound that you knew had to be his hand on his cock.
And then there was yesterday morning, when you felt it.  You’d been trying ever since to force that memory out of your head, but if you thought hard enough it was almost like it was still pressed to your inner thigh, still hot through his pajamas and the blanket, still… thick.
You swallowed and cleared your throat, shutting the magazine and delicately stacking it atop the other.  Sheets gathered in a bundle in your arms, you stepped down off the ladder and took them to the laundry room.
Tumblr media
Of course, this was the season of major mid-term assignments at school, so you should’ve seen it coming.  Still, the assignment for your portraiture class was going to be especially irritating; you only gained more and more anxiety about it the harder you tried to find some way to complete it.
And now here you were, out of options.  You’d been psyching yourself up for this all day, waiting for the right time to ask him only to chicken out.  You knew you needed to get it over with— maybe some part of you was still hoping you would be able to get out of it through divine intervention, but that didn’t happen.  Which is why you waited until quite literally the last minute and didn’t approach him until nearly midnight.
He was on the couch, watching TV like his eyes were glued to the screen, ignoring you completely while he munched on microwaved popcorn and you stood by nervously.
You sighed slowly.  “Listen, Ed…”
“Mm?” he mumbled, half-listening— if that.
“I, um… I need a favor,” you explained.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up and his eyebrows raised.  He looked away from the TV, which he muted, and leaned in towards you with a grin.  “How can I help you, sweetheart?” he purred.
Your skin crawled, but you kept going.  “Um, well, my photography class— we have a big project, you know… portrait photography.”
His smile grew wider; he must’ve known where this was going, so you just got it over with.
“I need a model,” you admitted.
He leaned back on the couch, running his tongue over his teeth.  “So, naturally,” he continued, voice a little deeper and smoother than usual as he stretched his arms out along the back of the couch and brought one of his legs up to cross over the other, “you came to me.”
“Yeah,” you rolled your eyes, “fifth.”
He shrugged a little, turning his face to the side.  “If that’s how many phone calls it takes for you to realize you’ve got the perfect specimen of the male form at home already…”
You scoffed.
“And now I know you’re all out of other options,” he looked at you again with a sparkle in his eye, “so I’m gonna negotiate pretty hard.”
Shit.  You shouldn’t have played your hand early.  "If you do this for me, I'll… take the bus to my classes for two weeks," you offered.  "You can be early to school!"
"I love that you think being early to school is that important to me," he grinned.
“I’ll get you the new Van Halen record on vinyl,” you countered.
“Eh, heard the singles on the radio, they went too ballad-y,” Eddie shrugged.  “Why Can’t This Be Love?  More like, Why Can’t This Be Over Yet.”
“Fair,” you sighed.  "I'll… do your laundry for a month?"
You regretted that idea instantly; he probably had a tube sock somewhere so full of Munson genes that it was already committing misdemeanors.
Thankfully, he rejected his offer with a shake of his head.
“I know what I want already,” he explained.  “The van’s seen better days… thinking you could give her a nice sponge bath.  And a wax.”
“Oh, a sponge bath and a wax, sounds like your pre-date routine,” you scoffed.
“Yeah, full Brazilian, what’s it to you?” he joked— at least, you were pretty sure he was joking.  “So, you want a model or not?”
“You’re not serious,” you insisted.  “I’m not washing your car.”
“Then I’m not posing for your little… boudoir session.”
“It’s not boudoir, it’s portraits—”
“Not listening,” he informed you with a smile as he picked up the remote again and unmuted the show.  You snatched the remote out of his hand and turned the TV off, leaving the room dark as you sighed.
“Fine.  Fine!” you groaned.  “I’ll wash the van tomorrow.”
Of course, you just imagined yourself with the hose and a bucket on the driveway, getting the van clean.  You hadn’t realized Eddie would be there, too.  On a lawn chair.  In shorts and shades.  Drinking a beer, watching you.
“It’s like a fucking oven out here,” you explained with a frown, crossing your arms.  “Why did we have to do this at high noon again?”
“Longer you bitch, longer it takes,” was all he offered.
He watched you silently— spare the radio next to him floating some annoying-as-fuck metal tunes into the burning hot mid-day air.
“You missed a spot, sweetheart!” he called out at you as you leaned over the hood to try to wash the rusting metal.
“Bite me!” you yelped in return.
“Mm,” he hummed before he took another long, slow sip from the bottle, making you regret saying anything he could make perverted somehow.
Oh, by the way, speaking of perverted… he’d picked out your outfit, too: jean cut-offs and a t-shirt.  You wore a bikini top underneath, knowing you’d need to be prepared to get wet during a process like this, especially considering how stupidly hot it already was in Hawkins.  It was uncharacteristic for this early in the year— in fact, a cold front was due to come in tomorrow.  Just your luck, of course.
You grimaced as you saw the suds running down the sides of the doors— they were brown, already, as you ran your soapy sponge along the dirty frame.  Where the fuck was he driving this thing that it got this dirty?!
After scrubbing with the sponge for a while, you used the hose to rinse off the soap and then started all over again.  You had to stand up on your tiptoes to try to reach the top, but that was the best you were going to do, no way you were climbing up there to wash a part of the vehicle no one ever sees; when you glanced over at Eddie, you found him with his head tilted as he— well, you couldn’t be sure where he was looking with the reflective aviators on, but you could guess.
“Enjoying the show?” you asked with a sneer.
He raised his glass bottle towards you, like you were toasting or something, and you groaned as you got back to work.
“Stupid fucking freak,” you grumbled under your breath as you aggressively scrubbed with your big yellow sponge, “just ‘cause my mom’s banging your deadbeat uncle— I hope you choke on the next sip of that Budweiser and drop fucking dead—”
“What was that?” you heard him coo at you from the lawn chair, uncrossing his ankles so he could lean closer slightly.
“Nothing,” you cooed in a sarcastically-saccharine sing-song.  “I’m so glad you’re my stepbrother— or whatever the fuck you are.”
“Step-cousin-to-be, but yeah,” he grinned, “something like that.”
“Dead man walking’s what you are,” you got back to mumbling to yourself as you knelt down to wash the van’s grill.
You were so focused on it— even though you hated doing this, you wanted to do it right— that you didn’t notice he was walking up to stand behind you until he cast a massive shadow over your work.  You turned around, squinting up at his silhouette before you stood and set the sponge down on the hood.
“Is this fun for you?” you asked, tilting your head at him.
“Yup.”
You scoffed and crossed your arms.  “So basically, you get off on making me do stupid things for you like this?  Dressing me up like a total idiot and watching me wash your nasty old van?”
He thought about it for a second.  “Um, yeah, basically.”
“You’re disgusting,” you groaned.  “Making me work in the heat just for your sick little game… I’m so sweaty, it’s awful.”
“Want me to cool you off?” he offered.  You were stupid enough to nod, and he held up the hose and put his thumb over the end so it would spray you.
“Ugh!” you yelped, shoving him back.  “I hate you!”
“What?” he laughed.  “It’s just water.”
“Is the van to your liking yet?” you sighed.
“Almost,” he smiled— not mockingly, though.  He tilted his head back all the way, giving you a view of his neck as he drank the last of his beer before tossing the bottle aside into the yard.  “I’ll help you do the rest, okay?”
“You’re gonna clean that up, right?” you glanced at the brown glass in the green grass— which sounds poetic and all but was a little more ‘white trash’ than you were going for with your lawn.
“Of course, I’m not an animal,” he rolled his eyes, “just gonna help you first.  You want help, right?”
You sighed, picking up the sponge off the hood.  “Let’s get this over with.”
Tumblr media
You’d picked the woods, mostly on a whim, as your photoshoot location— your strength was nature photography anyways, and you didn’t want to do this anywhere that people might see you both.  “The assignment is to submit two photos of the same subject, showing two facets of their persona,” you explained as you started loading film into your camera.
“Oooh, facets of their persona,” he repeated in an uppity sort of voice that made you roll your eyes, “very psychobabble, love it.”
“Hey, I didn’t come up with the rules, I just have to follow them, okay?”
He nodded, crossing his arms.  "So, what are my facets?"
"You tell me,” you challenged.
"...What?  I don't know,” he scoffed, “I only have one side.  I'm just me."
"Oh please, you probably have more sides than a D20."
"I love when you talk D&D to me," he growled seductively.
"Shut up," you rolled your eyes, “I only know that ‘cause you never shut up about that stupid game.”
“You only know ‘cause you read my rulebooks when I’m gone,” he announced smugly, and you sputtered over a couple excuses.  “You’re not that slick, sweetheart!  I can tell when you’ve been through my stuff.”
“Well, that’s not the only literature of yours I’ve read,” you shot back.  “Your under-the-mattress collection is really nice.”
He smirked, though you did see his cheeks turning pink.  “Those?  Yeah, thanks, just like to do a little light reading before bed.”
“That’s… gross,” you shuddered.  "I'm serious, though— we need to figure out this photography assignment.   Come on, what's your, like… dark side.”
He gave you one of those smirks that made your heart jump.  “Babe, this is my dark side.”
“You’re not as tough as you look,” you reminded him.  “Just a softie under all the leather and denim.”
“Well, it’s not much of a dark side,” he shrugged, “but it’s all I’ve got.  I just am who I am!  Not everyone is so terrified of authenticity.”
“Okay, that’s bullshit but whatever,” you decided, “the point of the assignment is—”
“What about your dark side?” he wondered, leaning forward and poking you on the chest as you wrinkled your eyebrows together.
“What about it?” you returned.
“You probably don’t even have one,” he decided.  “I’ve gotta have one, but you don’t?”
“I do!” you denied.
“Bull,” he snapped, “you’re a good girl, all the way down.”
You rolled your eyes.  “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You know!” he threw his arms up.  “A people pleaser.  Goody two-shoes.  Teacher’s pet.”
You crossed your arms, scoffing defiantly.  “I got detention once, you know.  I got caught in the janitor’s closet with Gary.”
“But isn’t that the same thing?” he pressed, tilting his head to the side.  “What were you in the closet with Gary for, anyhow?  For your own pleasure, or to try to make him happy?”
Widening your eyes, you tightened your fists; Eddie just dropped his chin down to his neck and looked at you expectantly.  “I’m not the subject, okay?” you deflected.  “I need to take two pictures of you, showing two different sides.”
“One from the front and one from the back!” he suggested proudly.
You sighed and shut your eyes.  At this rate, the remaining five hours of daylight might not be enough to get this done; it was like taking pictures of the Hellfire Club again, having to bark at them to get back in line and stop making faces and not blink so much.
While you were dreading the prospect of spending the entire day here with Eddie, frantically trying to get some decent pictures, he was silently hoping for the exact same thing.

Cody's Little Sister
“It’s really quiet huh?”
Cody may have been tempted to keep his eyes closed longer, but he could already hear Rex begging Cody to answer his honorary little sister with something comforting. Anything really.
“Probably more the lack of people being shot than actual quiet.”
Well. Maybe anything but that.
But Ahsoka offered up a morbid laugh anyhow. And Cody decided she had been fighting too long.
Currently, the two were a bit… lost. Though not of their own accord. The planet was mostly marsh, temperate and soggy, and though they had come prepared for that there was no preparing for a section of a natural water dam to be destroyed and flood their forward route. Thankfully Cody was pretty sure most everyone was out of the direct path of the flood, but oh so lucky for Ahsoka, she had been in the middle of the river crossing. Cody, a few feet behind her, cursed Jedi and their non-armor-wearing ways as he leaped forward. The wave hit him hard enough that truthfully he only remembered dark and choking until he was coughing up slime on their island. Everything to communicate had been damaged by the sediment, and Ahsoka was currently tinkering at Cody’s helmet to give them a chance.
“How far do you think we went?”
Cody took another careful breath, chest aching horribly. But a bit more determined this time to be encouraging he started mapping the stars that had come out. “Based on where the sun is setting and what I remember of the briefing, we probably made it a few clicks down The Serpent's Back. Surprised we didn’t drown truthfully.”
He really is trying. Seriously, Rex, it’s hard when everything is always getting worse by the minute.
“Thanks for the credit,” Ahsoka sniffed. “That armor doesn’t make you any lighter you know.”
Ok, now Cody’s eyes were open. “You pulled me out with you?”
Ahsoka glared at him a bit, as if what he said was absurd. “Of course. I wasn’t going to let you drown.” Then in the fading light, Cody caught something much sadder in her eyes. “And don’t think I didn’t notice you protecting me from the water and trees in the first place. It isn’t at all your job to protect me, but you did it anyway.”
Cody swallowed. He may be out of his depth but even he could very much tell that ‘your life is more important than mine because I’m replaceable property’ was not the right follow-up here. So he went with something more honest, the white and blue of her montrals making it a bit easier. “Any time Commander.”
Ahsoka chuckled a bit again. “And same for you, Commander.”
The silence that fell now didn’t feel nearly as awkward as Cody had expected. He was propped against a low tree comfortably enough. The moss made it just about as lovely as those new pods the Kaminoans were putting cadets in. Ashoka didn’t seem to mind either, sitting a few feet away to try and get the last rays of light to work by.
It was when they were finally without almost any light source that Cody became overly paranoid again. Any small noise and he was tending for some separatist gang or some Togruta-eating beast to come barreling down on them. It also didn’t help that his chest twinged every time he shifted, and Ahsoka was better at reading people than he thought.
“Here,” she whispered as the nightlife began making odd noises. The familiar noise of a lightsaber soon drowned them out and their little island was lit in its eerie green glow.
Cody was about to thank her when the light flashed across something moving through the water behind Ahsoka. It moved slowly but purposefully, turning as if it could see-
“Turn it off!” Cody hissed as loud as he dared.
The lightsaber winked out and Cody had no time to even ponder whether the creature could hunt some other way before Ahsoka's trembling voice cut him off.
“I’m sorry, I-I thought it would help you relax.”
Cody couldn’t help in the slightest. “No, I’m sorry to snap that way Commander. I just think, as nice as the light is, it makes us a rather large target.”
Ahsoka nodded, giving one last look at the fading helmet and then curling in on herself. Again they fell to silence, the sound of water moving now making Cody even jumpier. The fog and pain in his head weren’t helping either. He had to focus on something else.
“Do you… mind me talking with you?” Cody asked in a slight whisper. “Would help me keep my head clear.”
He managed to make out Ahsoka turning to look at him (really, was this planet one big fresher bowl because of its weak ass moon?), though he wasn’t quite expecting the surprise. “Are you asking for… permission to talk to me? In order to help you?”
“Sorry Commander,” he answered in reflex. “I won’t-“
“Stop, Cody,” Ahsoka now sounded even more upset and Cody was sure Rex was somehow glaring at him. “You don’t have to ask. I know we aren’t alone like this, ever, but nobody needs permission to talk to me. Especially not you, or Rex, or any of you. Unless you’d like me to ask permission to speak?”
“No,” Cody answered immediately, though his mind was still processing her words. “No, never.”
Ahsoka has a small smile, even though she figured Cody couldn’t see it. “Then I suppose we don’t have much else to do until master Obi-Wan finds us.”
Cody took another pained breath. “Shouldn’t be long. I imagine General Skywalker is having a fit about him losing you.”
Finally, Ahsoka gave him a quiet laugh. Small victories. “They both worry too much. You had everything under control.”
“Yeah well, someone should remind them of that next time they decide to test how flightless humans are.”
That laugh felt more genuine, and Cody relaxed just a tad more. “I’ll try to remember, but I can’t promise I won’t be doing it too.”
“Oh, you will be,” Cody grunted. “Rex too, the di’kut.”
“What’s that mean anyway?”
Cody hadn’t even realized he had his eyes closed. Blinking he shifted slowly against the tree to wake himself a bit more. “Someone who forgets to put their pants on.”
Ahsoka’s quiet laughter did a better job than the moving. She covered her mouth to stifle the sound but Cody felt his spirits lift regardless. “You two sound much closer than Captain and Commander,” she said, though with a hint of something that made Cody suspect she knew the answer.
Yet, Cody oddly enough found himself smiling as he answered. “Yeah, you could say that. I’ve known Rex since he was a little shit. And now he’s a big shit, but he’s still my little brother.”
Ahsoka laid her head on her arms, crossed on her pulled-up knees. “You sound just like Master Obi-Wan and Anakin. Maybe that’s why our battalions work so well.”
“Because the general and I are both calling your battalion idiots?”
“I’d think I could earn a little more faith,” Ahsoka smiled. “But no. I think it’s more because you both say it out of love for your little brothers. You understand something more about each other, just like Anakin and Rex can.”
Cody knew it had been a while since he last laughed, and even though it was quiet, he found it quite nice. “Yeah,” he whispered. “Yeah, maybe you’re right.”
“I usually am, but no one listens to me either. Especially Skyguy when he’s flying.”
They were now both laughing, the soft noises blending into the living environment around them. For how much pain he was in, and the fact it was becoming quite cold, Cody found this was a vacation compared to his normal life. “You’re just like them.”
“Who?”
Cody hadn’t realized he said it out loud, but he wasn’t feeling as reserved as usual. “Rex. And General Skywalker. You’re probably all feeding off each other’s crazy. Whoever partnered you all up must have been just as nuts.”
Ashoka snickered again. “Well I think it was Obi-Wan, so don’t think you're oh-so-good Mr. 212th.”
The sentence was suddenly so informal Cody had to cough another laugh. “If anything that just proves I’m the only one with sense!”
“Didn’t you break a foot once kicking a droid?”
“Details.”
Ashoka was now burying her face to try and be quiet. “No, you’re one of us. Disaster lineage is what Master Windu says.“
“Pft,” Cody started to shake his head before it spun and he stopped. “Rex and my batch mates would probably agree, even though they’re just as bad.”
“Batch mates?”
“Like, well, brothers,” Cody chewed his lip. “Closer than the overall vod though. More like a nat-born sibling. Decanted together and then trained from day one together.”
“Oh! I think I know what you mean,” Ahsoka said. “Some of us Padawan are much closer than others. I guess we aren’t that different, brought to the temple really young and then growing up together.”
“Heh, yeah, and look at us now,” Cody chuffed. “Practically twins.”
Ahsoka's laugh was softer this time, and Cody could just make her out as she began to shiver badly. Kriff, he had his armor and thermals, and even soaking wet he hadn’t realized he was probably much better off than Ahsoka with the chill. She looked like a shiny, trying to hold everything together. Cody then found himself leaning forward despite the pain, undoing the clasps on his armor.
“What are you doing?” Ahsoka was now all concerned. “Is something wrong? Is your chest getting worse? Are you-“
“I’m fine Commander,” Cody halted her panic. “You made sure of that. Just thought it’d be warmer without some of the armor.” Finally, he had managed to undo the breastplate and plied it and the plackart to the side. He then tapped the mossy ground and raised his arm, careful to hide as much pain as possible. “You’re not going to survive all of this only to die of a cold on my watch.”
Ahsoka barely even hesitated, which surprised Cody some. But as she curled carefully into his side he figured Rex called her little sister for a reason. And soon enough the shivering stopped and Cody found the contact quite comforting, as much as he thought it was gonna be awkward.
“He told me I could go to you.”
Kriff, he had to stop closing his eyes. “Huh?” Yeah, he must be concussed.
“Rex,” Ahsoka spoke a bit clearer. “He found me once crying in a supply closet. I didn’t want any of the men to see. I’m supposed to be a Jedi, supposed to be able to lead them. But when Rex found me I couldn’t even try to fake it.”
Cody found himself thrown suddenly back into his memories, the moment he found Rex, hiding and crying. It was like some odd twist of fate, to be hearing this. And it only stung him more as Ahsoka continued.
“He helped me. Told me if no one else he’d be there when I needed him. And then he promised me that if he couldn’t be there,” her breath caught a bit, the unsaid being heard clearly. “Then you’d be there. If I couldn’t find anyone else, I should find you. And I guess I just accepted it was the same as with any of you. But Anakin once said something similar about Obi-Wan, and you never even hesitated to protect me today. So now I get it,” Cody didn’t even feel any pain as her montrals pressed against his side. “You’re my big brother too.”
Cody wasn’t lucky. No, luck wasn’t on the side of any clone. There was only training and fighting and suffering tooth and nail for one more day of miserable existence. And yet, here he was, thinking fond memories of a small blond mischief maker and how a family really was made, not born. After everything that had happened to them all, he was here now, doing what he actually did best: being a big brother.
And when the entire sky suddenly lit up in dancing green and blue lights, he figured he should rethink the miserable existence part of his thoughts.
“What is that?” Ahsoka gasped, mesmerized as the lights started changing colors, purples and reds shooting through like tendrils. Everything around them was bathed in it, and Cody couldn’t help a breath of relief as it revealed familiar white and gold armor and a very scared-looking master Jedi a few dozen yards down the river.
“I’d say hope,” he answered. “but I’m not quite that concussed.”
Ahsoka's laughter rang a bit different now, and her smile was definitely brighter as she too caught sight of Obi-Wan and started waving. Rex was right. Cody would be there whenever she needed him, they both would.
That’s what big brothers are for.

Summary: Kyungsoo wakes up feeling lonely on his birthday, knowing you were not coming back on time, but well-intentioned friends whisk him away for a day full of surprises. Although the most important one was patiently waiting for him back home.
Word count: 3K+
A/N: I just had to add the angsty feelings, but I hope it stayed balanced. I had the idea after hearing Kyungsoo do the cover of Falling Like the Stars by James Arthur. Another happy late birthday, Kyungsoo!
MASTERLIST | MOODBOARD
Tumblr media
The alarm went off, but while Kyungsoo would usually wake up right then and start off his day, this time he remained curled on his side, sighing as he burrowed deeper under the covers.
Gentle rays of sunlight touched his face, yet he kept his eyes closed as the alarm was still going off, wishing for a few more minutes of sleep. It wasn’t exhaustion weighing on him, but an intrusive longing for your warm embrace and smiles that greeted him constantly.
Soo, I’m so sorry. I’m afraid I won’t even make it on time for your birthday.
Your words kept echoing in his head. It’s not like he’s obsessed with birthday celebrations, but you’ve been away for so long already that the holidays were too monotonous for him.
He actually hates being too clingy—he really tries not to be—and he understands more than anyone how patient and considerate you have been before waiting for him when he is the one away. Kyungsoo groaned at his self-pity thoughts, grabbing his phone from the counter to finally turn the alarm off.
It’s his birthday, and while you couldn’t be there quite yet, your return would be all the sweeter for waiting. Belated birthday celebrations are fun too; it’s not the end of the world not having you there on his specific special day.
But he could still see you in every corner of his house. He smiled, noticing your coat and scarf still hanging inside his closet. You never seem to get those back or end up replacing them with other pieces of clothing as the seasons change.
He jumped out of bed, fixed on starting his day right, and tried to ignore his phone, which was already flashing with text notifications from Chanyeol. It had started at midnight, but he had already turned on the do not disturb setting. Chanyeol’s teasing would not be welcomed during his peaceful morning, even though a tinge of curiosity piqued within him to know what his texts could be about.
After showering, Kyungsoo's face lit up with a smile as his lovely dogs, Hoochoo and Meokmul, greeted him upon stepping out of his room with his hair still damp. He kneeled to accept sloppy dog kisses; their affectionate natures never failed to lift his mood. He filled their bowls with fresh water and food, tending to their needs before heading to the kitchen to prepare his own breakfast.
Kyungsoo chuckled softly when he saw your favorite snacks and ramyeon in the cupboards, still untouched. He’d stocked up eagerly for your planned week together, thinking you were coming on the sixth.
It dawned on him why he had been feeling so blue these past few days, since he would be busy with work after his birthday and not be able to see you regularly again.
With a shake of his head, he began to prepare his breakfast. The fresh coffee aroma filled the kitchen, complementing the eggs he was frying along with some savory kimchi. Cooking made him happy; it would’ve been better if someone else were there to share the food with, but so far he was content with how his day was going.
He set his toasts and kimchi eggs, accompanied by some leftover japchae and soy bean sprout soup. As he was about to fill his cup with coffee, the doorbell rang, leaving him puzzled since he was not waiting for anyone to come.
“Kyungsoo-yah! Let me in.” Chanyeol’s voice came through the speaker, and the dogs started barking excitedly.
He wondered if Chanyeol somehow managed to hack his video doorbell and speak through it because he had ignored his texts. Silly Kyungsoo, he knew that Chanyeol wouldn’t ever be clever enough to pull that off. Chanyeol would obviously resort to more annoying methods, like showing up at his house unannounced.
Kyungsoo hesitated, but his friend’s voice kept coming through along with the ring of the doorbell. He made his way to the entrance but only talked to Chanyeol through the speaker. “Why are you here, Chanyeol?”
“Happy birthday, Kyungsoo!” Chanyeol said it in a singsong.
Kyungsoo chuckled. “Thank you, bye!” he joked.
Chanyeol kept ringing to annoy Kyungsoo even more and get him to let him in, but Kyungsoo had opened just at the same time that he rang, so Chanyeol didn’t notice at first. “You’re going to break it; just come in,” Kyungsoo uttered.
“Are you ready?” Chanyeol entered, almost jumping out of his shoes and going straight to the kitchen. He greeted the cheerful little dogs on his way, who were the only ones who seemed truly happy to see him. “Smells pretty nice in here.”
Kyungsoo rushed to close the door and find Chanyeol before he could take anything from your snacks since he also loves the same types of bean chips. Luckily, he was only taking a look at the toasts for his breakfast. “Ready for what?” Kyungsoo finished pouring some coffee into his cup. “Want some breakfast?” he asked as he saw him looking for a bowl.
“I could eat some,” Chanyeol mumbled. “I brought you seaweed soup; my mom made some for you.” He offered a warm smile, winning one back from the lonely birthday boy in front of him.
The container was small but seemed spacious enough to have soup for both of them, so Kyungsoo grabbed two medium-sized bowls from the storage. “Go ahead and eat what’s already served. I can make some more toasts for me.”
Chanyeol rolled his eyes. “I can make toasts, eat your breakfast. I’ll serve the soup; it’s yours. I won’t eat any.”
Kyungsoo settled down at the table with his food and coffee, amused by his friend’s response. From a distance, he could sense the wheels turning in Chanyeol’s mind; whatever scheme he had planned, Kyungsoo was actually grateful for his taller friend’s happy virus energy to accompany him during the day.
Chanyeol sat in front of Kyungsoo, flashing him a small, mischievous smile before he dug into the delightful breakfast. Kyungsoo missed that gesture as he stopped Meokmul from climbing onto his lap.
As they ate and chatted, Kyungsoo seemed more and more at ease. Chanyeol caught him cracking a genuine grin at one of his silly jokes. “There’s that smile!” He teased. “Now finish that toast—we’ve got a full day ahead of us.”
Kyungsoo squinted at him suspiciously. “You still haven’t told me what you’ve got planned.”
The laugh that escaped Chanyeol was not at all convincing for Kyungsoo. Kyungsoo felt uneasy about Chanyeol's hidden secret, as he didn't want to be left in the dark. However, his patience hadn’t yet run out, so he decided to wait just long enough to get at least a clue before Chanyeol could drag him out of his house.
“You just trust me; you’re gonna love it.” Chanyeol stood up and took Kyungsoo’s emptied dishes. “I’ll clean this; you go put on a coat or something.”
Kyungsoo was hesitant at first, but he made sure to watch from afar for any hint that his friend could let slip while he was busy with the dishes.
His phone was still flashing with texts from his friends, so he checked all of their messages. He laughed silently as he saw the insistent ones from Chanyeol to let him in, as well as the funny birthday wish at midnight. His smile grew as he saw texts from fellow actors and idols, but his heart fluttered once he saw yours.
You: Happy birthday 🥳😘 wishing you all the fun and love you deserve on this day. I know I’m away, but I’ll be with you in spirit no matter what you do 😌 you are in my heart always. I love you so much, see you in a bit 😉🫰
Kyungsoo glanced up, a tenderness in his look that only the sun could witness. Your words warmed him up even more than the cozy clothes that he changed into, anticipating any activity that his friend could have planned.
Thrilled, he made his way back to the kitchen. He had almost forgotten about his friend’s suspicion, but his whispering on the phone served as a reminder. “What was that?” Kyungsoo asked, “are we meeting someone? Why—“
“Kyungsoo! Why are you—“ Chanyeol was a little startled because of his sneaky friend. “Hey, just wait there,” he said as he ended the mysterious call. “Baek will join us, and that’s all I’ll say.” He chuckled tauntingly.
So the two menaces were accompanying him. Kyungsoo just laughed softly, letting things flow their course. For a second, he considered texting Junmyeon back on his offer for lunch, but somehow, Chanyeol’s plans seemed interesting.
It was satisfying to see the white blanket of snow covering the streets while the sun battled to defrost the glistening icicles on top of the bare tree branches. At least the weather was nice and managed to cheer him up even more, somehow matching his friends antics and the eagerness of their dogs.
The park came into view as they drove along the bridge, and Kyungsoo smiled, knowing that Chanyeol was taking them to a park for their dogs to have some fun too. He will take care of making a snowman out of Baekhyun as payback for all the teasing he’s been doing during the car ride.
The dogs were eager to get out of the car once they managed to get a spot in the parking lot. Baekhyun’s corgi, Mongryong, even let out a joyous howl, asking to be let out.
Kyungsoo’s mood lifted even further with their enthusiasm. The park wasn’t crowded since it was quite early, so he released their leashes, giving the dogs permission to romp.
After some time playing with their pets, Kyungsoo heard a notification ding. He briefly excused himself for a little privacy, as he wished it was you, but it had been a message from Woobin.
“Hey, birthday boy!” Baekhyun’s voice distracted him, but he looked back at his phone to answer his hyung’s message.
He opened your text again, intending to reply when you were back online. Unfortunately, despite your lovely birthday wishes, you still didn’t seem to be around. He decided to simply send his reply for you to check later, along with some pictures of the dogs playing with his friends.
Soo: Thank you baby! ❤️😊 you won’t believe how your wishes came true 😆Yeol and Baek dragged me out to Seoul Forest with our pups. I’m having fun tho
Baekhyun playfully shook Kyungsoo’s shoulders, trying to make him go back. “Come, Soo! Don’t get lost, little penguin.”
Kyungsoo turned to level him with his most lethal glare. Though not the tallest among them, Kyungsoo possessed a presence that commanded respect, making Baekhyun shrink back instinctively and realize it was time to flee. Kyungsoo ran around trying to catch him to finally turn him into a snowman.
The dogs followed them, with Chanyeol on tow, trying to make them all stop since snow was starting to fall quite heavily. Baekhyun stopped first, making Kyungsoo bump into him. Kyungsoo was breathless from running and laughing, but he managed to get Baekhyun on the ground.
Baekhyun and Kyungsoo moved the snow around them, making snow angels as Chanyeol laughed. “Guys! Look up; we might need to go find shelter or go back—“ The ringing of his phone stopped him.
Chanyeol looked at the caller’s name and excused himself for a minute. He was almost whispering to the person on the other end, but Kyungsoo managed to listen to one sentence before Chanyeol walked farther away. “We’re going now then!”
Kyungsoo was truly enjoying Chanyeol’s plans, but he was too curious about who he was talking to on the phone so much. He unmistakably guessed it was Baekhyun earlier, but he is now right in front of him, playing along with their dogs.
The flakes started to whirl downward in swift blizzards, making the wind pick up pitch. They knew there was no stopping the snowstorm, so Chanyeol called out that it was time to get back home and stay safe before it would be too dangerous to drive.
Surely enough, after a quick stop at Baekhyun’s house, traffic began to slow down as it became harder to mobilize because of the snowfall.
“Are you sure you’ll be okay out there?” Kyungsoo asked before he got out of Chanyeol’s car. “You can stay until it’s clear.”
Chanyeol managed to contain his laugh and only pulled off a warm smile at his friend. “Nah, I’ll be okay. And perhaps, you know how much I love your dogs but the allergies might kick in and I need my meds.”
Kyungsoo nodded, understanding. They could also go and buy some, but it did seem like there was no stopping the snowstorm, and Chanyeol would be a lot safer in his own house.
“Hope I managed to lift your spirits for a bit. Y/N will come back soon; cheer up!” He winked and put his thumb up.
Kyungsoo seemed to not catch the clue, but as they reached his apartment, his dogs had a surge of energy. Hoochoo sniffed below the door while Meokmul barked up at him, as if trying to let him know something.
He only grew worried, thinking they were hungry because he hadn’t taken enough treats to the park, so he hurriedly entered his house as the dogs pulled on their leashes. He swiftly removed their gear as he hung his winter coat and beanie to leave them to dry.
The dogs kept barking and whimpering, but it took on a happy tone; soft shushing and whispers accompanied them, along with Kyungsoo’s hopeful racing heartbeat.
You were back.
You were here.
Kyungsoo stared in awe, stopping for a second to check if it could be his hopeful mind playing tricks on him. But as his watery eyes focused and took you all in, his lips curled into the widest of smiles.
He walked over slowly, taken by a rush of emotions. Your heart almost broke at the sight, but he reassured you that he was okay, chuckling between a couple of sobs.
The embrace didn’t take you by surprise, but he almost made you both fall to the ground. In that perfect moment, with you cradled safely in his arms, Kyungsoo found he had no words. All the lonely nights spent yearning for this very feeling evaporated as a warm and overwhelming emotion rose within his chest.
He buried his face deeper into your comforting scent, his fingers clinging onto you with a tighter hold than intended, but you made no attempt to break free from his trembling embrace. Your own hands stroked his back tenderly, soothingly, as if to say, “I'm here; it's really me. I've returned to you.”
After what felt like an eternity, Kyungsoo finally found the strength to pull back, his glistening eyes hungrily scanning your face, re-memorizing each cherished feature. His lips parted, but his thoughts eluded him; the snowstorm outside served as an illustration of the swirling emotions of gratitude, disbelief, and joy within him.
Sensing his struggle, you graced him with a tender yet radiant smile, one hand rising to cradle his cheek. "I've missed you too," you breathed, the simple words conveying so much.
At the sound of your voice, Kyungsoo's hesitancy crumbled, and he claimed your lips in a kiss that poured forth every unspoken emotion.
Breathless, you parted, but hesitant small kisses lingered upon your lips. You laughed as you gently kissed his chin, tracing over his lovely beauty marks, while Hoochoo playfully tugged at your pants.
“How are you here?” He finally asked, taking your hand and leading you to the sofa, where you cuddled with the two adorable poodles.
You continued to laugh, and he cupped your cheeks. His hands felt a little cold, so you covered them with yours. He lovingly pushed your cheeks up and down, as if he were still trying to convince himself that you were really there. His five senses were now aware of your return, but it still felt like a dream in his heart. It was only when he felt your fingertips dry a couple of tears that he fully assimilated your presence.
“I might need a couple or more cups of coffee to stay awake, but I managed to come back sooner.”
He pulled off a shy smile. “Oh, baby. You didn’t have to…”
You still felt his hands being cold, so you softly grabbed both of them and tried to wrap them in your warm ones. “No, I needed to. I wanted your birthday to be perfect.” You kissed each of his hands. “I wish you could’ve gone to all the places I had in mind for you and your friends, but the snow was pretty heavy.”
Kyungsoo shook his head, trying to comprehend your words. “Wait, wait… you planned-you asked Chanyeol to come and all—“
“Yes, kinda! He was visiting you, so I asked him if he could help, and he accepted quite easily.”
He gazed at you, filled with wonder and affection. “So Junmyeon hyung’s lunch invite, and Minseok hyung wishing we could’ve gone bowling, and Jongdae saying he’d stopped by to bring me a gift—“
“And all of the people who sent you any text other than to just wish you a happy birthday. I was planning on throwing you a small party when you came home, but the snowstorm happened and everyone got stuck, so I had to cancel.”
“Wow! How? Did you know you’re amazing?” He chuckled and tenderly kissed your jaw. “I think this is better though. Having you back and everyone else here… you would have been distracting.”
Curling into your embrace, he rested his head on your chest, listening to the sweet sound of your heartbeat. The furry little ones nestled around the two of you, sighing contentedly.
“This is all I need. Just being with you… you were my birthday wish.” Smiling softly, he tilted his face up for a tender kiss. At last, all he yearned for was no longer far away from him. His smiles were easier to pull off now that he got you back just in time.

Symptoms
Law x reader
Tumblr media
The bright rays of the early sunshine seeped through the curtains and woke (y/n) up,
Groaning, she slowly opened her eyes to the morning and rolled over to the other side to avoid the sunlight, only to find out her HUSBAND, the surgeon of death, was already out of bed and working in his office.
Sighing in disappointment, she slowly sat up and stretched.
But not long after, she felt herself start to throw up before jumping from the bed and rushing to the toilet just to throw up everything and anything that wasn't in her stomach the night before
After throwing up, she cleaned herself and got ready for the day
Somewhat deciding to pay the doctor a quick visit.
It was odd to her how she just threw up so early in the morning. And throughout the day, she eventually forgot to go to the doctor and instead was occupied in Ikkaku's room that night instead, gossipping, chatting, the likes.
"So earlier this morning, Shachi was sooo sweet!" Ikkaku cooed, "he kissed me good morning!"
"Aww... I wish law was like that. But instead he's at his office kissing his own work" (y/n) scoffed, "oh... That reminds me, I threw up this morning... I could've sworn I hadn't eaten anything bad last night"
Ikkaku audibly gasped, "do you know what this means?!"
"Uh... What?"
"You could be pregnant!"
"Me? Not likely... We use protection, even used contraceptives on top of that."
"I mean... You won't know until you take a test. I'll be with you I promise"
Later...
"Where's (y/n)-ya?" Law asked
"Oh, they're having one of those girl talks where they just gossip and stuff" Shachi answered
"But it's been..."
"Captain, their girl talk always go for hours on end... Do you not realize that?" Penguin hummed
"I actually don't?"
"Captain. When was the last time you and (y/n)-chan have ACTUALLY went on a date?"
"I...." Law stammered, "alright fine. I don't remember"
The two gasped at him, it wasn't dramatic, just what came out of them
"What?!" Shachi yelled, "how?!"
"Geez. I'm just so busy and (y/n) doesn't bring it up" he rolled his eyes
"That's honestly the worse part" penguin muttered, "she doesn't bring it up."
"Oh please, she would've brought it up otherwise"
"Of course she wouldn't! She knows just how busy you are so she wouldn't try to weigh you down! Not even asking for a date is unreasonable. You've been dating for a whole two years and yet, could I even call it dating?" Shachi sighed, "Ikkaku-chan gets mad when I don't even pay attention to her, think what (y/n)-chan is thinking"
"That... It's true, the last date I think I remember was I think a year ago." Law admits, "gosh... Voicing that out makes me feel so bad."
"Captain, I'm not calling you a bad boyfriend.... But you are. The only time I doubt you two had time for each other is sleeping. You'd appear when she's already asleep and disappear before she even wakes up. She didn't tell anyone, it was fairly obvious"
"I'm just so busy with work, it seemed endless." He sighed
"Work won't go anywhere,.and besides. What's more important, rather, WHO'S more important?" Penguin shook his head
"I haven't been..."
....
"Breathe, (y/n)" Ikkaku encouraged as (y/n) held the pregnancy test in her hand
"Okay... Time to know" swallowing hard, she slowly opened her eyes only to have them widened and pale as if she saw a ghost
"What's wrong?" Ikkaku asked before looking at the test and gasped, "it's positive!"
"Shhh!"
"Oh... Yeah, right... Sorry"
"What am I going to do...?? Law won't like this one bit...!"
"Calm down, the first thing we need to do is how to move onwards."
"Well I can't hide it from him, that's for sure. And I'm sure I can't tell him either. He won't like it"
"First off" Ikkaku stopped her, "you should absolutely tell him. Whatever reaction he has, I'll be here to support you"
"But.."
....
Waking past Ikkaku and Shachi's Bedroom, he accidentally heard Ikkaku and (y/n)'s voices
"But... I don't even know if he still loves me..."
The voices were muffled, but just enough to hear, he knew it was bad eavesdropping on someone's conversation, but... It interests him
"What do you mean?" Ikkaku asked
"It's been a little over a year when we last had a date... The only time I see him is in lunch, dinner, and sometimes at bedtime for some intimacy." (Y/n) sighed, "I... I don't think I'll tell him, I'll handle it. Don't worry"
"But (y/n)..."
"No... No. Ikkaku, you have helped enough. Thanks, but I'll handle this on my own. I'll find it out eventually"
Law swallowed thickly before running off after hearing approaching footsteps.
He ran off to his own office before realising he actually did.
Smacking himself in the face, he just realized he made his own office his 'home' of sorts.
"They were right... I'm so obsessed on work I haven't had time with (y/n) in a while..." He grumbled, "that's it. I'll make this right"
Later...
He entered the bathroom and took a quick bath, after that, he saw something in the trashcan, it was disgusting but the curiosity killed the cat and grabbed it
It was a small rectangular box and upon reading the label of it, he froze. It was a box of pregnancy test.
He wanted to know if she used it or not so he searched everywhere in the bathroom to try and find it, he eventually found it stashed behind giant gallons of detergent and he braced himself.
....
(Y/n) guessed that test must've been a defect so she took another one and hid it somewhere no one would find it and left to go have some snacks while waiting for the result.
After eating, she decided it was already time and headed to their bedroom only to find law had some clothes out on the bed which meant he was taking a bath
'good thing I hid the test, I hope he doesn't find the box... But I buried it, so it wouldn't be visible... And besides, he doesn't like trash.' she thought
After waiting for him to finish, it had been at least 30 minutes since then, law doesn't like long showers, the longest he's ever had a bath by himself is 20.minutes.
So she peeked inside the bathroom only to find him standing over the sink countertop, holding something.
'oh shit' she thought before closing it immediately and pretended to not know anything and knocked
"Who's there?" Law called
"It's me, (y/n)... You're taking quite some time in there, is everything alright?" She asked innocently
"Can you come here for a sec? I need you to do something for me." He said
Swallowing thickly, she metered and put her most innocent face ever
"Yeah?" She asked and saw still in the same position as earlier
"Mind explaining this?" He asked and waved the positive test in his hand (well not waved exactly)
"Oh uhm..." She stammered and looked everywhere but his eyes just to find a reason.
She didn't even notice law walking up to her until he grabbed her jaw with his whole hand causing her to squeak.
"Law-"
"Shut up" he said in a cold manner
She trembled while thinking 'he... He's mad...'
But was proved wrong when he smashed her lips against his
The forceful kiss soon turned into a passionate one with him pouring out all he has into this one kiss.
They soon pulled away because of the need of oxygen, (y/n) breathed heavily trying to regain herself while law silently panted and stared at her
After she did regain herself, he pulled her into a tight hug, "you should've came to me about this instead of hiding it from me" he whispered into her ear.
"You're... You're not mad?" She asked, confused
"Why would I?" He asked them pulled away, "I love you so much... Why would I be mad if we're having a baby? Sure it'd be dangerous, but then again... Babies born on pirate ships aren't that rare."
"You... Love me?" Tears started to form in her eyes at the mention
He looked at her and pulled her closer "of course I do... I... I am such an idiot for putting my work before you... And I just realized that today. So please... Don't leave me... I love you"
"I... Love you too, law" she smiled, "but... Where did you get the idea of me leaving you?"
"I mean... It's been a year since we last... You know... Had a date"
"I care not for those little things, as long as you're here, no amount of a date would ever make me leave you. But a date does nice"
"Wait! I haven't prepared that yet! Give me some time...!" He protested
"Take your time, I can wait" she laughed at his outburst
"Okay, okay. I'll make it the best date you've ever had!"
"Can't wait" she smiled sweetly
"And as for this fucker" he grinned darkly at her belly
"Law!"
"Sorry! Sorry, I shouldn't call our baby a fucker." He sighed, "can I name one??" He asked
"Go ahead"
"If it's a girl, can we name her lami? Like my sister"
"Go ahead... It sounds nice" she hummed, "how about if it's a boy?"
"You decide... I already have my suggestion"
"I'll think about it."
A couple months later...
So it turns out, they both had twins. A boy and a girl, (y/n) named the boy Luci while law named the girl Lami.

Warning: smut, rough sex, praise, language, angst, fluff and so on.
I fucking hate warnings, just read!
"Harry, please, just listen to him. He's your friend." You patted on his knee for comfort.
"Exactly, that's why it has nothing to do with you." He said in an angry tone.
"What?" You were actually surprised.
"You crossed the line, y/n, it's none of your business what's going on between me and him. Hear me? None of your business." He told you off, drinking from his glass all in one gulp
You looked stunned for a minute. You saw Harry's face every time someone spoke of their best friend, you knew that he missed Michael. You thought that he just needed a push.
"You're right, it's none of my business. I'm sorry I care about you enough to intervene in your life." You said, pissed off at the wholt situation. You left your untouched martini and left them both behind, walking out of the bar.
Harry didn't look at Michael who watched you leave.
"Got what you wanted in the end, right?" Harry asked, rolling his eyes at the vain.
"What the fuck are you talking about? You think this low of me? I reached her, Harry. I told her that I was trying to speak with you but you'd refuse." Michael said, annoyed with Harry.
"And?" Harry sounded like he didn't care.
"You damn son of a bitch, you got two people trying to make things right with you and you're too stubborn to let them. I was trying to tell you that I was sorry, sorry for what I've done in the past, sorry for what happened with y/n and Ray."
Mike was furious at this point. "And she listened to every word I said and believed me, but here you are, being the fucker that you are. She tried to get you to just speak with me, because I asked her. If you think I screwed this up, you're wrong, you did."
"I never asked for this!" Harry argued.
"I don't care! It's important for me to not lose you and I thought that since you refused to even answer my calls or even have a decent conversation, I should reach her to get you to talk to me."
"I don't like people taking actions like that." At that point, Harry felt kind of guilty, but wouldn't admit it.
"I know, Harry, but there was no other option. I care enough to not lose you. I-I know that I wasn't the best friend, I never meant to screw things up with you and her. I don't even know why I did that, but I'm sorry. I promise it will never happen again. I came all the way just to tell you that I'm sorry." Mike's tone softened as Harry's expressions.
They sat in silence for a minute, both of them looking at their hands. Michael didn't have the courage to say anything more.
"Fuck it, come here!" Harry said, pulling Michael in a friendly tight hug, they patted each other's backs.
You did this, and they both took advantage of the opportunity you gave them to fix their friendship. Their friendship couldn't be messed up for any reason, that was why you had to do this.
"Go fix what you just did, bugger." Michael said to Harry, pulling away from the hug.
"Aren't you leaving with us?" Harry asked, slipping some dollar bills under his glass.
"No, since I'm here I might as well visit my brother. Now go." Michael encouraged, patting Harry's shoulder.
Harry smiled back at his friend, walked out of the bar, went up to your suite, and then he opened the door only to be greeted with darkness.
"Y/n?" He called, turning on the light, his eyes caught your suitcases so that for sure meant that you didn't leave on your own. He walked in the bedroom but you weren't there, then he walked towards the bathroom and knocked on its door.
"Y/n, baby are you here?" He called and got answered with silence so he opened the bathroom door and it was empty.
He started getting a little worried, so he walked to the living room, turned on the lights of the living room only to hear your voice that came from somewhere, because you weren't in the living room. "Turn off the light."
"Baby, where are you?" He looked around, but he couldn't see you. His eyes caught the balcony that was covered with curtains. He turned the lights off before walking towards the balcony. He breathed as if he was holding his breath without realizing when he saw you on the balcony, laying down on the floor with a cigarette between your lips, looking up at the stars.
"You scared the shit out of me!" He said out of relief, but you gave no answer, eyes still on the stars.
He sighed, closing the curtains behind him before he laid down next to you on the cold floor. He pulled his cigarette pack out, got a cigarette out, lit it with the lighter he had and put a hand behind his head for protection and support.
He imitated you, looking up at the stars that were more visible that not much light was on.
"Did you tell him to go fuck himself?" You asked before inhaling the toxic smoke.
He sighed, "Actually, no. We're okay for now."
He felt guilty next to you.
"Good for you." You answered in a cold tone.
You both laid there in silence, looking at the stars. Nothing to be heard but the burning tobacco, you breathing and the background noise.
"I'm sorry, y/n." He closed his eyes as he said this. "I shouldn't have said what I said earlier."
"Okay." You answered still with the same cold tone.
"No, it's not, speak with me." He tilted his head to the side to look at you.
"No."
"Is this some kind of silent treatment?"
"I'm talking with you, how is that silent?"
"Because you sound so… Cold."
"Doesn't matter."
"Of course it matters. We need to communicate so we can fix this."
"There's nothing to fix. You said that it was none of my business and that's what I'm doing, minding my own business."
"I didn't mean it like that. You know that, right?"
"No, Harry, I don't. And I no longer want to care."
"But I want you to care. Look, ugh, Michael and I are more like brothers, I knew that we had to fix things between us. I just didn't see it coming from you."
"Okay."
"Hey! Stop that and let's have a decent conversation." He straightened up and sat on the floor, crossing his legs, giving you the full attention.
"I just counted 15 stars. How many did you count?" You asked, trying to change the subject but in the most blunt way.
Harry sighed, "I just counted one that doesn't want to speak about what happened."
"Stars don't speak, do they?"
"Y/n, princess, please."
You huffed, imitated Harry's posture, facing him. You took the last breath of smoke before crushing the cigarette butt in the glass ashtray next to you.
"What now?" You asked, annoyed.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have spoken to you that way in public or even in private. I didn't mean it."
"It's not only about that, Harry. You told me off, and okay I respect that, but that made me reconsider us."
"What? What do you mean?" He asked, startled with your words.
"I'm a person that cares so much for the people I like, I'm a giver and a person that can't see the people I care about having troubles in their life. Because of that, if you want a person that doesn't care so much, then we're not right for each other, because I can't control these feelings." You flicked your hair a little, a habit whenever you spoke your mind. "All I'm saying is, if I can't get involved in your life especially in the future, then I can't be with you. Once I care, I'll always care. And if that's not setting right with you, fine! I can't even apologize for trying to get you to speak with Mike, because I feel that I did that just because I care about you."
"You silly girl, I love that you care!" He gave you a wide smile, holding your hands with his. "This is one of the many things I like about you, but I just didn't even think that you cared that much."
"That's something that makes people take a step back from me. If you don't mean it, please don't say it." You closed your eyes, hating how much you cared.
"I'm not going anywhere. People who do that, to hell with them. Y/n, I'm a man that appreciates a caring woman. It was just unexpected."
"That is why I'm telling you that you're gonna hate it, you're gonna feel so pressured that you can't care about me as much as I do about you."
"Some people might feel so, but not me. I, ugh, I never had any woman care for me other than my mum and sister, that's why this is not something that's going to drive us apart. I want it, all of it, all your care."
You nodded, but you couldn't believe him. Everybody left you because you cared so much they couldn't keep up, so what made Harry so different? You thought nothing, so you just agreed and let it go, but deep down you didn't believe a word he had said. His words were supposed to assure you, but you were so damaged that no words could get the job done.
A man is a man. Nothing in your past experiences helped you believe Harry's statement, so you did something wrong. So wrong. There were two options, one was to let his words assure you so you care, not giving a second thought to it, second was to not believe him and just end the relationship before it even started. But you chose a third wrong option, you didn't believe him, but were going to care anyways.
Choosing this option, you knew that either you'd get so hurt if your fear became real and regretted every second you cared for him, or you'd hate that you chose not to believe him and spend your time with him afraid of every show of affection and care you give.
You chose the wrong option.
--
The drive home was quiet, mostly because you had a heavy heart that made you focus only on the road. Not Angela’s eyes that wandered all over Harry’s presence, nor Harry’s eyes that looked at you from time to time, could take your attention from the road and all the thoughts that mingled in your mind.   You weren’t sure of anything at this point, but you mostly felt self-conscious because you were sure that you should not have cared about anyone.
Choosing between caring or ending it all was a tough call, but you were ready for the challenge. You didn’t know why, but you were going to take matters into your own hands and not let go of your walls. When you discussed things with Harry, it made you choose to care, but when you thought things through, you were sure that you couldn’t break all the walls you had built just for a pair of green eyes.
The walls were there for a reason, to protect you.
You weren’t used to their fucked-up relationships, you were only used to the fucked-up relationships back home.
Your mind was on fire.
You took a hundred decision in ten minutes, what was the best option? You certainly did not know.
As for Harry, he did not know what to do. He felt this aura of uncertainty around you. From the moment his eyes landed on your dancing body in the club, he thought you were different. All the things that made him feel attached to you, could not let him rest knowing that you were uncertain about him, though he was certain about you.
He knew. He knew that you were damaged, but to what point? That he did not have a clue about.
You dropped Angela at her place, a poor neighborhood. You didn’t answer her ‘Bye, guys.’, but Harry did. You didn’t drive again and stopped the engine even after Angela left, you sat in your seat, eyes on the cement road. Harry looked at you, “Baby? Let’s go.”
You took a deep sigh, flicked your hair, “We’re over, Harry.”
“What?” He asked, startled.
“I can’t get into a relationship.”
“All of a sudden?” He asked, clearly annoyed.
“No, I just realized that I have a fragile personality that can’t keep a man. I can’t be with you or anyone else.”
“Is that because of the Michael thing?”
“No, Harry. I’m a runaway, I run away from emotional shit. As I said, I can’t keep a man, I’ll always find a way to freak you out just like now.”
He didn’t answer, there was this awkward silence.
“Let me drive.” Harry said, breaking the silence. You nodded and switched seats with Harry, he started the engine again in an angry way and he flew with the car.
He said in a loud tone almost like yelling, “I’m not letting you go, so you better gather yourself because there’s no way out of this. You’re with me, and if you think I’ll let you destroy what we have just because you’re afraid you’ll mess things up, then too bad! I’m not fucking leaving, and neither are you.”
You didn’t answer, kept silence as he kept yelling with angry eyes on the road.
“I’ve no idea what all of this coming from, but hell no I’m not letting go of all the amazing things we have just because you’re a coward!” He continued.
“I’m not a coward!” You yelled back.
“Damn you are! You want to throw me away and for what? For a stupid fear of caring for someone you actually care about. Y/n, you’re a coward.”
“Don’t call me that!”
He kept racing the stars with his car, aiming for his mansion.
“You are staying with me. Any shit talks about ending things, I won’t hear it. Make up your mind when you’re in my bed.”
You sighed, rolling down the window so the wind hit you. And just like before, you got your upper half out of the window, letting the wind hit your body, fly your hair, clear your mind.
Maybe he was right, maybe that was what you needed. Someone that wouldn’t let you go because your mind was self-destructive.
His eyes wandered between you and the road.
You liked being manhandled; he was going to give it to you. One way or another, you were not leaving.
He pulled over at his mansion, sighed. Game was on.
He got out of the car and slammed the door, walked around the car for your body that was still half out the car. His hand cupped your cheeks while his eyes glared at you, he was pissed, “You’re not leaving this relationship.”
You were startled when he slid your whole body out of the car through the window and right on his shoulder. His legs walked towards the front door and got in, “Harry, put me down!” You yelled at him, kicking him as he was walking into his mansion.
“Mr. Styles, is everything alright?” Jack, the butler, asked as he was standing to watch Harry’s angry figure carry you towards the elevator.
“Everything is about to, Jack. Don’t let anyone disturb us.” Harry answered.
“Hi, Jack.” You raised your head a little with a smile on, you raised your hand to wave at Jack.
“Hi, y/n.” He gave you a wide warm smile and a wave back before Harry got into the elevator, turning around so you faced either his butt or the elevator mirror.
When the elevator doors were open, he walked to his bedroom, kicked the door open roughly. He walked towards the bed and threw you down onto it.
“What the hell, Harry!” You yelled at him.
“I’ve been in a thousand relationship and when I’m finally in a decent one, you want to mess it up for no proper reason.” Yeah, he was yelling so you better thank God that this isn’t a movie, so you won’t actually be deaf with his loud voice. “You’re staying here, in my house. We’ll eat together, shower together, we’ll have endless sex and if I have to make us shit together, I fucking will till you get rid of all the nonsense going on in your head!” Forgot to tell you, that he was vulgar when he was angry, as well. “If I have to, I’ll tie you to this fucking bed and you’re not even going to work until you’re sure about us.”
“I’m not playing your games.” You glared at him and were about to get off the bed, but his hands held your wrists down, pinning you on the silky black sheets.
“Too bad, you are. I like you too much to let you go easily.” His eyes pierced on yours, pure anger, that was what you saw.
That was when he crashed his lips onto yours in an angry kiss. You could feel his frustration in the way his lips ate yours. You didn’t realize that you were so into this angry, passionate kiss until you brought him closer by his cross necklace. It felt like you two were both fighting over dominance through this hungry kiss. His lips bit softly on yours before he slid his tongue into your mouth, and you did the same just the second he entered his tongue into your mouth. His plump soft lips were determined to overpower yours, but you were a fighter, so you fought for dominance only to annoy his ego.
He did not realize that he was killing you with lust, desire, passion and anger.
“I’ll fuck this out. All of it.” He whispered on your lips.
His body was against yours, half-standing in between your open legs. A hand of his was exploring your flesh under the sweatshirt you had, while the other was on your neck. It felt like you were kissing for a hundred hours, but neither of you could get enough. You got drunk on power, dominance and each other’s bodies.
Not much was discussed about what you liked in bed, but there was this chemistry between you and him without even discussing it. As if everything he was into, you were too.
That was why you liked when he softly slapped you, spanked you, chocked you and called you names.
He helped you take off your sweatshirt completely and once it hit the floor, he kissed you angrily again. His hands crept under your body to unclasp your bra, and once it was off, he grabbed both of them in his hands. Your breasts fit his hands perfectly and he loved that fact so much. He couldn’t stop himself from leaving your lips only to kiss down on your boobs, sucking onto your little nipples. Your fingers found their way into his soft hair, tugging on it lightly when he bit on one nipple slightly.
His saliva was covering your breasts as he drew wet kisses, sucked and licked every part of them. You let his hands squeeze your boobs while his mouth made its way to your neck to kiss onto. He mesmerized your sweet spot, licking down on it like the pro he was. He learned that you became weak every time he came near your neck to kiss, lick and bite down love-bites.
He stripped you of your leggings and shoes, and you noticed that his breathing became heavier just like yours. His lips crashed yours again as his hand drew circles on your pussy through your red thong.
But that time, you really wanted to fight him.
You flipped him over, so you were on top, your wet, starving, clothed pussy right on top of his thickening cock.
“I’m not gonna let you win this time.” You winked with a hint of a smirk on your face. You saw his smirk; he knew that you knew that you couldn’t win if not he let you do. But he gave you a chance anyways.
You took off his t-shirt, you wanted him naked like he was born. Right away, you dipped your lips on his neck just like he did to you, your hands touching down his abdomen, feeling his abs, scratching on it slightly so you gain some moans from him. He smelt like cologne and desire, and it only drove you crazier.
His body was hot while yours felt cold.
You kissed behind his ear, hands going everywhere available. You held his hands with yours above his head and dry-humped him, eyes looking into his directly. You could only feel him getting harder against your wetness.
“A little slut, aren’t you?” He smirked, couldn’t let go of his dominance even if you had him pinned on the bed.
“But you love it, don’t you?” You stared into his eyes, with a daring look. The fire growing down where you were rubbing and your moaning getting on his nerves.
“That’s it! On my face.” He ordered, freeing himself violently from your grip and giving you a hard spank on the ass.
Although you were trying to keep your dominance, you couldn’t hold yourself and immediately did as you were ordered. Your knees on either side of his head, pussy right facing him. That position of you hovering above his face killed him.
Heaven, he thought.
His hand ripped your thong and only left it hanging around your waist.
Even better, he also thought.
“You want it, babygirl?” He said on your pussy, you felt his hot breath hitting your pussy as he spoke.
“Yes, daddy.” You had no idea why you called him that, but it felt like a ‘daddy’ moment.
“What did you call me?” You didn’t think that the little nickname made him harder, but oh it surely did.
“Daddy.” You breathed, trying not to suffocate him with your pussy.
“Good god, you’re damn right.” He said in his dominance voice before his tongue made contact with your clit directly. Your knees felt like jelly at the touch.
His tongue worked its way between your folds, drawing circles on your clit as his lips sucked in your pussy lips. The best meal he could have, he wanted it to devour you every way possible as his arms held your hips in place.
“Yes, Harry, just like that.” You moaned, moving your pussy on his tongue. He gave you a loud spank on the ass and you knew that was a warning to correct yourself.
“Daddy, just like that, don’t stop, please.” You pleaded, your hips moving faster to gain more friction on his wet tongue.
And he didn’t stop. He kept licking and sucking on your pussy, you felt you were about to pass out from the pleasure. All of a sudden, you felt his thumb enter your hole, exploring your insides.
“Holy shit, yes!” You screamed holding onto his hair. The sting he felt in his scalp only made him harder, made him know that you were enjoying his face, so he brought you down more onto his face.
His thumb fucked you as he was sucking in your whole pussy, his tongue licking hard on your sensitive nub.
“I can’t hold anymore, daddy. I’m gonna cum!” You screamed as your pussy attacked his mouth, the sloppy friction pressuring your climax. He gave you another slap on the ass of encouragement.
“Holy Fuck, Harry!” You screamed his name as you were cumming, eyes closed shut, panting.
Just when you came from your high, he gave you a small kiss on the clit, taking out his thumb.
You pulled away from his face, only to see his face smudged with your liquids. But he didn’t mind for one bit, on the contrary, he gave you the biggest smirk possible.
You craved his cock in your mouth, so you helped him take off his sweatpants and boxers all in one step.
“I like you better naked.” You flipped your hair as his eyes enjoyed the sight of your face getting closer to his cock while your breasts jiggled every time you moved.
Your face close to his cock, and your pussy got wetter at the sight of the pre-cum leaking from his cock’s tip. You used his pre-cum to lube his cock, plus you spat down on his tip and jerked him off a couple of times. He hissed at the feeling of your hand on his cock, his head rested down on the pillow, but raised it right after he felt his cock between your boobs.
You closed your breasts on his cock, and fucked his cock with them up and down, eyes on his cock.
“Shit, babygirl, that’s so good!” He moaned. Your hair was getting in the way, so he collected your hair and held it up in a bun with his hand, his hips moving up and down with you, fucking your boobs.
You smirked at his horny face, his mouth open and eyes full of lust.
You stuck your tongue out so every time it goes up, it hit his tip.
“God, you’re so good for me, princess. You’re getting so good for me.” He breathed, fucking your tits faster, his hips going up and down.
You spat down on his cock again, admiring the love-bite he gave you on your breast. You felt his with his mark.
His breathing was getting deeper by the second. He adored this sight of you, between his thighs, cock between your tits, your saliva mixing with his pre-cum as lube, tongue out like the slut you were.
“You’re so fucking mine.” He moaned, angrily fucking your tits harder.
But he had to stop so he wouldn’t cum on your tits, so he stopped moving his hips and grabbed you to his face to kiss your lips. You could taste yourself on his tongue and he could taste himself on yours.
“Sit on it. Use my cock.” He ordered, hissing as his cock touched your sloppy pussy.
Still leaned in, staring into his eyes, you reached behind you to grab his cock and direct it to your hole. You straightened your back and slowly sat down on his cock; it took you a few moments to adjust.
“Oh fuck, fucked you a hundred times and you’re still as tight.” He smirked before your hips drew circles on him, taking your time on his dick.
His cock filled you, pleasured you, and satisfied you. You began moving forwards and backwards, enjoying the pressure you felt in your clit against his pubic area and lower abdomen.
“You cock fucks me so good, daddy.” You moaned, not stopping for a second.
“It’s yours, babygirl. Fuck, your pussy is so good around my cock.” His hands were guiding your hips as you moved and he couldn’t stop himself from slapping them, so he gained a groan from you.
You leaned on your hands near Harry’s knees and began moving up and down. Your tits were bouncing with every thrust, his hands found their way to them to squeeze. You tried to move faster as much as you could on his cock.
For a second you thought why you didn’t use a condom as much, but then you couldn’t careless when he hit your g-spot.
Your knees began hurting and your pace slowed down a bit. His thumb began drawing circles on your clit as you were using his cock.
“What’s wrong, babygirl? Getting all tired so soon?” He teased, his thumb moving faster on you. Your hips stung a little from all the movement.
“Yes, please!” You whined, trying to fuck yourself on his cock as fast as you could, but it wasn’t enough.
“Please what?” You couldn’t answer, eyes were on where you were connected. “Look at me or I won’t let you cum!” He growled, playing with your pussy lips between his fingers.
“Please, you fuck me, I can’t.” You groaned, pace slowing down even more. You were so sexually frustrated, you needed to be fucked hard and fast.
“Good girl.” He smirked, knowing he won. Again.
He reached and grabbed you by the neck, so your chest was pressed against his, face in his neck.
“Lift your hips up for me, babygirl.” He directed your hips and you obliged.
He moved his hips up and down, in and out of you in the exact pace you were craving for. His balls hit you every time he thrusted into your tight walls. You moaned right next to his ear, biting down on his neck from pleasure. He held you into his arms tightly, loving the touch of your skin against his.
His pace would change from so freaking fast to slow, and that drove you insane. You felt a hand of his wander between you ass cheeks and your waist. You never felt wanted and needed like you felt under his touch.
“You’re mine, understand?” He panted, his cock hitting all the right places.
“Yes!” You groaned, trying not to scream into his ear.
You felt your walls tighten around him, you had an issue telling when you were cumming, but he felt it anyways.
“You want to cum around me, baby? Cum.” He encouraged, holding you tighter, keeping his pace.
“Yes! Fuck me!” You screamed, coming from your high around his cock. Your body shook in his arms and pussy tightening even more around him. That was his cue to pull out.
Once he pulled out, his cum spurted on your pussy, he reached under you to catch his cock and jerk it off.
“UGHHH!” He growled loudly, hitting his cock on your pussy as his white sperm covered your folds.
Panting, you both stayed into each other’s arms. His hot skin against yours gave you the feeling of intimacy you never felt before.
“You’re not leaving, y/n.” He breathed in your ear. You moved your head so you could look into his eyes.
You looked freshly fucked, he was the one that fucked you. HE LOVED IT.
“Don’t let me leave.”
--
Almost a year had passed, and you were only getting closer and closer to Harry. Staying at Harry’s mansion for couple of days every week only drew you together even more, he spent some time at your apartment as well, but he felt more comfortable being all alone with you.
There was this day you were on your laptop while on the phone with Sam. That day you were at your apartment, Jessica was staying at Noah’s place at the time while Harry was taking a shower in your room’s private bathroom. You had one of your cute home outfits, a navy blue silky babydoll.
“I spoke with the landlord, but he demanded way too much so I tried nego-“ Sam kept talking for too long then, you had to stop him.
“Sam, please, just send me the pictures you took of the place. We’ll talk money when we meet.” You huffed, opening whatsapp on your laptop just when Harry got out of the bathroom completely naked, you giggled at his soft dick and just wiggled your eyebrows at him and he gave you a smirk, putting on his boxers.
“Okay, sent them. What do you think?” Sam voice said, you had him on speaker anyways.
You opened Sam’s chat icon and wandered between the pictures he’d sent you while Harry took a seat next to you on the bed, he rested his head on your shoulder to look at the pictures with you.
The place was nice, but there was a lot of work to be done.
“It’s three-story place, right?” You asked Sam, swiping between the pictures.
“Yes, but you need to get there today so you can actually see it.” Sam answered.
“It looks good. With some work, it’ll turn into a nice club.” Harry commented.
“Who’s this?” Sam asked, startled by the deep manly voice he heard out of the blue.
“It’s Harry, I’m dating your boss.” Harry smirked and you only rolled your eyes at him.
“Oh, hi! We never got introduced. I’m Sam, the boss’s right hand and fun friend.”
“Ugh, stop it, please, this conversation is getting awkward.” You covered your face with your hand to hide your shyness.
“How about I meet you both at the place, so you can check it out and I get to meet my boss’s boyfriend.” Sam sounded so excited, but Harry wasn’t your boyfriend yet.
“Oh, actually he’s not-“ You got interrupted by Harry, “Of course! Send her the location and we’ll meet you there at 7, maybe have a drink afterwards?”
“Cool, there’s a nice bar close to the place. See you at 7, love you, y/n, bye.” And he hung up.
“I know he’s gay, but still, the ‘I love you’ annoys me.” Harry commented, getting out of bed.
“You really want to come with me to check the place?” You asked, turning off your laptop.
“Yeah, why not?” He shrugged walking out the bedroom to get a snack.
“Bring me some chips.” You yelled, smiling afterwards. You loved how he was so comfortable around you as you were around him.
“You mean crisps.” He yelled back, walking into the kitchen.
“To you and your damn British words!” You started scrolling on your phone, opening a pdf book to read. Meanwhile, Harry opened the pantry door so he could get some snacks, he made his way back with some chips, Cheetos and juice box. He knew by then that you can’t eat anything without drinking something in the process.
He made his way back to your bedroom to find you laying on the bed, reading something. He laid on the bed next to you, handed you the bad of chips and the juice box. He placed his head on your shoulder to watch whatever you were doing on your phone. He saw the pdf file in a language he didn’t understand.
“What’re you reading?” He asked, opening his bag of Cheetos and taking a handful into his mouth.
“It’s an Arabic book written by an Egyptian writer, Youssef Edris. The book is called ‘A house of flesh’”
“Translate to me.” He kept his eyes on the phone though he didn’t understand a word.
“Okay, but I’m not a translator, plus Arabic is a difficult language.” You warned and he nodded.
You began reading,
“The widow and her three daughters. The house is only one room. And the new silence. And the blind reader who brought silence with him, and with silence he proved to himself that the woman in his bed was always his wife and his ring carrier. Her being childish sometimes, her feeling old sometimes, being soft or rough, thinner or thicker, this was her business, that was the seeing people’s business and their responsibility. Only they have the blessing of certainty, because they are capable of distinguishing. But him, the only thing he could do is doubt. Doubt that couldn’t turn into certainty without the blessing of seeing eyes, and as long as he was deprived of sight, he’d always be deprived of certainty. Because he is the blind, there’s no blame on the blind. Or is there a blame on the blind?”
You kept reading, taking breaks to have a mouthful of chips or a sip from the juice box. And when you were finished, you looked at him and his eyes were on you.
“So the blind guy married the widow, and he had sex with her daughters without knowing that it wasn’t his wife?” He asked, clearly startled by the twisted short story you read him.
“It’s up to you to sort this out. The writer wrote that the blind guy felt his wife get thinner, thicker, childish, old, and so on. So, do you think the blind guy is to blame?”
“Of course! If I were blind and got used to your body and touch, of course I’d know when your body felt different. And how in hell are they having silent sex? That sucks!” You loved that he was discussing the topic of the book with you.
“Some people are silent during sex, Harry. Plus, they couldn’t make a sound so he wouldn’t know that he was screwing his step-daughters, one by one.”
“Ugh, that’s sick.” His face was disgusted.
“You’re right.” You giggled at his disgusted face. “Let’s make dinner before getting ready for meeting Sam?” You asked and he nodded happily with a big wide dorky smile.
“Why so happy?” You asked again, laughing when he jumped out of bed once he heard the word ‘Dinner’.
“You’re cooking, you make the tastiest meals.” He shrugged as you stood on your feet to go to the kitchen with him following you.
“Okay, baby, what do you wanna eat?” You asked getting into the open kitchen.
“Whatever you want, love. I’m open for anything.” He took a seat on the barstool, watching you go over the cabinets and the fridge to check what you had.
“I can make us spaghetti with white sauce. How about that?”
“Sounds great.”
You started boiling the pasta in the water while making the white sauce, and you made Harry help by stirring the sauce while you took the pasta out of the water. You cooked slices of chicken breasts to add on the white sauce. He kept asking why you took every step in the process of cooking, he annoyed you with all his question, but he made up to you by giving a wide smile of happiness and gratitude that you were cooking him a meal.
You mixed your pasta with the sauce, and when everything was done you both took seats on the barstools to eat. Harry was very excited to taste, and dipped into the food as soon as he sat down. His eyes gone wider, “Oh god, that’s very good. It has so many spices, I like you more every time you cook.”
“You are the reason they say that the fastest way to man’s heart is through his stomach.”
“When it’s this good, then yes.” He smiled, eating the food you made.
You ate together, laughing and teasing each other as usual, but you had been dating for about eleven months, so why shouldn't you bring it up?
"Harry, I want to talk to you about something." You started, leaving your food as if you lost your apetite.
"What is it?" Not letting go of the food, he asked.
"How long does it take to put a label to our relationship?" You asked, directly. No way you were going to mutter or stutter.
He looked startled a little, but didn't stop eating and that annoyed you a little.
He thought of the deal he had with Ray, but that you didn't know.
"I like you, but maybe it's too soon?" He avoided eye contact.
"Okay."
That was the only answer you gave. You were enraged? Yes. But there was nothing to do. If he thought it was too soon, then nothing you could do would change that.
On the other hand, Harry had been delaying his part of the deal with Ray for quite a while.
Either he claimed you, or he gave you to Ray on a silver platter.

I know the stories are gonna be slow but please take your time when doing this, mental health is important 💜 but I might suggest a story, Reader having a mental health breakdown during a mission while working with Null Sector’s leader Ramattra. Look after yourself okay
Thank you for your patience. And sorry it took me that long to answer to your request.
━━━━━━━༺۵༻━━━━━━━
S/o having a breakdown while working with Ramattra
You knew from the moment you agree to work with Ramattra that it wont be easy.
Especially when you are a human and everyone knows he hates them.
But you once helped and omnic when he got beaten up and repaired him after it.
Ramattra heard of you from the omnic you helped and literally forced you to work with him as in "Your people cause this damage . You will fix it"
You agreed mostly because you felt bad for the omnics and want them to have a better life.
Time pasted and to your surprise Ramattra got a little nicer to you and you? Well you just fall for the null sector leader. How did it happen? If only you know
And because of it you got even more stressed when you fix another omnic. "What if i mess up?" "What if Ramattra doesnt need you at some point anymore?"
After a mission Ramattra got damaged. Not much but it still needed a check up so he went to you.
When you saw it was him who asked for your check up your stress level went high again.
You were on the edge of a breakdowm. 1. He got damaged/injured and that worried you. 2. You needed to check him up and repair the caused damage. 3. If you mess up he will be mad and surely kick you out.
You didnt even notice you were a shaking mess until he asked you what the matter would be. You just said you were bit cold hoping its enough for him
You started working now still very shaky but try your best.
But your thoughtd betray you.
You dont know why but your hand start to cramp and you let the tool fall you used.
Both you and Ramattra looked down to the tool and he is actually the one piccking it up for you. "Im so sorry! Im sorry! Please, please dont be mad!" was the first you could think of saying.
If he could he would rais an eyebrow at you.
"Now what is there to be sorry about" he asked you not looking away even when he placed the tool away.
"For messing up. For being so stupid!" small teares roll down now.
Ramattra understood fast. He may be n ot found of humans but you are a good one, who is on the side of the omnics right. He could trust you.
So he can see what is going on with you.
"Now, Now do not speak of yourself so low. You are not stupid nor did yu make any kind of mess."
"Yes i am. No matter what i do its always wrong." you know its not true yoursekf its the stress speaking now.
"Do you truly think you make everything wrong? Because if it would be true i would have already kicked you out."
He stands up now to stand right in front of you and looks downa t you.
"You are a good human compare to evryone else. You help my people no matter what you and we all are gratful for it." after his little spech he placed a hand on your shoulder.
You didnt know what came over you but out of instinct you hug him needing some comfort even if its a cold omnic chest.
He is taken back at first but lets you hold him.
He even pats your back to help you calm down. "Now, why wont you rest for the rest of the day and take your time? You humans are fragile after all"
You just nod your head at him frist before breaking the hug "Thank you Ramattra. Really"
This time he just nods and gave one more pat on your head before leaving.
While he is leaving one thing was for sure in his mind, no matter what he doesnt want to see you like this again rather just your happy smiling self.
━━━━━━━༺۵༻━━━━━━━
I hope you enjoy it. I also will finish all the other request i have before i shut this account off (not deleting) for a while because im planning to do something else and with work and all it will take a lot of my time.
If i find time again i of course would come back to writing here.

TALES OF THE RAYS: ION’S 3RD SKIT (ENGLISH TRANSLATION)
Tumblr media
This is a direct continuation to Sync’s Side.
Since Ion’s side was finally put up on the Rays Wiki, I can actually take a crack at it now.  Here is the Ion side of the skit released with the debut of his xMA \ Dual Mystic Arte with Sync. I got the screenshots from 八雲貴大 on YT.
Tumblr media
[ SYNC AND ION ARE LEAVING THAT MEETING ]
Ion: How do you think that went, Sync? What did you think of Ix’s gathering? * どうでしたか、シンク。イクスサロンの感想は。
Sync: It was a waste of time. The end result of thought experiments and harboring delusions is a mental breakdown, isn’t it? That’s what the Necromancer is for. 時間の無駄だね。妄想と思考実験のなれの果ては精神の崩壊ってやつなんじゃない?こういうのは死霊使いの得意分野でしょ。
Tumblr media
Ion: Hehe… フフフ・・・・・・。
Sync: What? 何?
Ion: Jade said something very similar to you. He said: “Don’t you think you should take a break from your bad thoughts and pay attention to where you’re going?” ジェイドも同じようなことを言っていましたよ。「下手の考え休むに似たり、もっと足下を見た方がいいのではありませんか」って。
Ion: Jade doesn’t have much interest in the humanities. ジェイドは人文科学には興味がないそうです。
Sync: How about that. Well, I’ve already thought about this plenty while I was falling into the Planet’s Core. どうだかね。考え尽くして一度深淵にでも落ちたから避けてるんじゃないの。
[ LUKE AND LIBERA ENTER ]
Tumblr media
Luke: —What the hell are you guys talking about? The meeting is over and you’re still talking about hard stuff. ――何だよ、お前ら。サロンが終わってもまだ難しい話をしてるのかよ。
Sync: You poor thing. You were made with a degraded brain, it’s natural you find this kind of talk difficult. 可哀想に。お前は脳みそが劣化して生まれたからこの程度の話を難しく感じるんだよ。
Tumblr media
Libera: Sync, it’s not good to tell people they’re inferior! Anise said so. シンク!人に劣化なんて言ったらダメなんだよ。アニスが言ってた。
Tumblr media
Sync: Shut up. We’re not people, anyway. We’re replicas. うるさいな。どうせ相手は人じゃなくてレプリカだ。
Libera: Replicas are people, too. Claire told me that we all share the same heart that thinks peach pie is delicious. Now, apologize to Luke. レプリカも人なの。クレアが言ってた。ピーチパイのことを美味しいと思う心は同じなんだよ。ほら、ルークに謝るの。
Tumblr media
Sync: I told you to shut it. *sighs* Whatever, I’m sorry for telling the truth. うるさいな。あーあ、本当のことを言って悪かったね。
Libera: Sorry, Luke. Come on, Sync. As a reward, let’s get some sweets from Nevan. ごめんね、ルーク。さ、シンク。ご褒美にネヴァンからお菓子をもらおう。
[ LIBERA BOUNCES TOWARDS SYNC ]
Tumblr media
Sync: I already told you, quit yanking my arm! You’ll dislocate— だから、腕を引っ張るな!肩が―――
[ SYNC IS DRAGGED OFF SCREEN ]
Tumblr media
Luke: …That Sync, he’s the same as ever. ・・・・・・シンクの奴、相変わらずだな。
Ion: I agree… Or, well, I do think that Sync might have changed a little. そうですね・・・・・・。いえ、でも少し変わったかも知れません。
Luke: You think? そうか?
Ion: I think that Sync would have refused to even be in the same room as me back in our original world. 元の世界にいた頃のシンクなら、僕と同じ空間にいることすら拒絶したのではないかと思うんです。
Ion: But now, Sync seems to be starting to make compromises with himself. けれど今のシンクは、少しだけ譲歩してくれているように感じます。
Luke: I guess that’s because we have no reason to be hostile anymore. 今は敵対する必要がないから、とかかな。
Ion: Yes…that might be right. そう・・・・・・なんでしょうか。
Ion: I don’t know exactly why he’s changed, but I’m glad. I feel like Sync is starting to find more meaning in being himself, rather than just being another one of our original’s replicas. 理由はわかりませんが、嬉しいです。シンクがシンク自身に、被験者イオンのレプリカであるということ以上の意味を見出し始めているような気がして。
Tumblr media
Luke: I hope so. I feel like I’m starting to finally feel like I am who I am because of my friends—you and everyone else. そうだといいな。俺は仲間が―――イオンやみんながいてやっと、俺が俺であるって思えるようになったから。
Ion: Including me? But I haven’t… 僕も、ですか?僕は何も・・・・・・。
Luke: What are you talking about? You’re super important. 何言ってんだよ。イオンはすげえ重要だぜ。
Luke: After all, no matter how many replicas there are of Ion, no matter how many Luke replicas were made, you and I are the only ones who met in the Cheagle Woods. だってイオンが何人いても、ルークのレプリカが何人いても、チーグルの森で出会ったのは俺とお前だけなんだから。
Tumblr media
Ion: !!
Luke: That’s what makes you special. だからさ、特別なんだ。
Ion: You’re right. You and I are proof of each other’s unique existences. Thank you, Luke! はい。僕たちはお互い、唯一無二であることの証明者ですね。ありがとう、ルーク!
* NOTE: the actual term Ion uses is “Ix’s salon”, which confused me until I found out that a salon can also be an “informal gathering of artists at a notable figure’s house.”

The Fam Reacts To The Classic Child's Play
AN: If I missed a certain scene you might have wanted. Message ME!
The Rays sat down on their couch covered with blankets and with their butter popcorn in hand, ready to watch the classic Child's Play.
"Ok first off! I want no hate from any of you! They did my teeth no justice. That fuckin traumatized me. AND, I was WAY more handsome than that actor Brad Dourif. (No hate to Brad!) This is just to give you an idea of what went down ok. YA GOT IT!"
"Yeah yeah, PLAY THE MOVIE!"
"Yeah, Dad!"
They get to the point when the twins see their Father as a human and they both look at each other bewildered a little creeped out seeing him human. Sure they had seen photo's of him human but to actually see him moving and talking was a whole other story.
"UM. PAUSE. Dad. HOW ARE YOU LOSING IN THIS CHASE SCENE?"
"I GOT SHOT IN THE GOD DAMN LEG! I think that's a valid excuse."
"Also, What's up with that hair?"
"It was the 80's! People had wild hair! Plus I didn't see the need to cut it."
They get to the scene where Eddie drives off and leaves him.
"What an ASS"
"MUM!"
"Sorry Sweetface"
Glenda cringes at the fact that she sees her dad screaming at Eddie not to leave him. HER father of all people.
"Man, I looked pathetic, screaming for help."
They get to the point where Chucky transfers his soul into the doll.
"Dad.... so far I'm disappointed in your human serial killer act."
"HEY! At least I found a way to come back."
Later Into the film
They get to the point where they show Chucky's sworn enemy Andy Barclay in the film and even the sight of him pissed Chucky off.
"Little Shit. That Little Fucker fucked up my face."
"What? Is that how you got your scars?"
"I'll tell you later"
"I hate that kid. Andy Fucking Barclay"
On the screen, it shows Maggie getting hit by a hammer and her falling out of the building. A concerned look on Glen's face and laughter from Chucky and an evil smirk from his wife and daughter.
"One of my best kills's don't ya think Tiff?"
"Oh yeah. That was good"
LATER ON
Eddie Caputo returns to the screen and a frown spreads across Tiffany's face.
"I still can't believe that asshole left you."
"Yeah I know right! Fuckin Traitor."
"Yeah, what happened to him Dad?"
"Haha, You'll see"
Eddie Dies From Explosion.
"Oh."
"Tiff. Where are my Pork--"
"In the cabinet on the left Sweetface."
"Thanks, Tiff."
Chucky got up and went to grab one of his favorite snacks and took a detour to the bathroom. When he returned he grinned seeing what part of the film they were on. One of his favorites. He almost choked on his soda at the actual memory.
"I SAID TALK TO ME DAMNIT OR ELSE I'M GONNA THROW YOU IN THE FIRE!"
Tiffany paused the film right before Chucky came to life.
"Kids. Daddy's gonna say some really bad words. And if I catch you using this type of language EVER! I'm gonna wash your move out with soup! And no IPad's for the rest of the month! You understand?"
"Yes Mom"
"Yes Mum"
Tiffany hit the play button.
"YOU STUPID BITCH! YOU FILTHY SLUT! DON'T YOU FUCK WITH ME! ARGH!!!!" *Then proceeds to bite Karen*
"Dad, what the actual flip was that?"
"Yeah, you looked like a fricken animal gremlin thing."
"Ummm. Ok, I was pissed and wanted to scare the bitch. I was about to be thrown into a god damn fire! What did you expect? For me to give her a hug?"
Later On
We're skipping some parts and getting to the most important parts this movie is so long XD
Chucky creeps into Andy's hospital bed and pulls off the covers only to find pillows instead and Andy makes his escape.
"Dad? How did you get outsmarted by a 6-year-old boy?"
"Ok. I didn't expect the kid to be "smart" ok? JEEZ! I thought he would be a dumb naive little kid who would just go along with everything I said. AND HE DID for the most part at the beginning of the Film."
They get to the scene where Chucky goes up the elevator.
"Ugly Doll"
"Fuck You."
"Dad she ain't wrong."
"GLENDA!"
"Well, you look okay now. It's just they made you look so human-like. It's kinda creeping me out."
Chucky gets trapped in the fireplace by Andy and his mom.
"Andy Nooo. We're friends to the end. Remember?"
"This is the END FRIEND!"
Chucky's set ablaze, screaming and running around.
Tiffany cringed at the sight of her husband in pain.
"Holy Shit"
Andy discovers Chucky is gone and is on the floor crawling away from Chucky's burned body.
"Dad you look horrifying."
"I know and they made me look like I have a big ass head."
"You do tho."
Chucky rolled his eyes, gave her the finger, and continued watching the movie.
Karen shoots Chucky to pieces but he still isn't going down.
"Dad how the heck are you still going?"
"I'ma fuckin trooper that's why."
Mike Norris' partner comes and is then strangled by Chucky's arm.
Glen jumps at the scene "HOLY! Dad your arm scared me."
"SHOOT HIM! SHOOT HIM IN THE HEART!"
The bullet fires and finally kills Chucky.
"DAD SERIOUSLY! HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP COMING BACK!"
"HAHAHA! You know what they say. You just can't keep a Good Guy down."
Glenda internally facepalms at her father's smartass remark.
"Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna PLAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY"
MOVIE ENDS.
"Dad what in the actual heck."
"So that's how you got trapped inside the doll."
"Yep."
"Dad you are one creepy MotherFu-----"
"GLENDA RAY! Don't you dare finish that sentence!"
"HAHAHA!"

Chapter 21 | Chapter 23
How’m I Gonna Sleep - Tim Finn
“You’re joking.” Lizzy objected flatly.
”Do I sound like I’m joking?” Muldoon didn't back down.
She shook her head in bewilderment, face like a smacked arse. “Why?”
“Your skills are required. I can’t say any more just yet.”
”I thought you were on my side.”
”And you have a job to do. You’re going. Pack your bags.”
Lizzy didn’t say another word. She turned around and walked straight out of his office before she told him exactly where he could shove that idea. What the Hell was happening?
Richardson might be the one to pull a fast one on her like this, but Muldoon?
She felt betrayed more than anything. She'd thought they were friends. He didn’t even ask her if she’d consider it. Just told her.
Pack your bags.
What exactly had she done wrong?
***
Tom was outside, in front of the still-incomplete visitor centre, doing shirtless pull-ups off a tree branch, all while smoking a cigarette.
“…Seven…c’mon, come to Daddy…eight…Hey, Liz!” He stopped and dangled, sweat dripping off him, when he saw her heading his way. “Betcha can’t do more than three of these!”
No answer. Huh, that was weird. She’d normally leap at the chance to prove him wrong.
”Where ya goin’, lady?”
She kept her head ducked, hurrying along. Tom didn't like that at all. He dropped down from the branch and picked up his shirt, mopping his brow.
“Liz! Talk to me."
Still nothing.
Tom frowned and stubbed his cigarette out, pulling his shirt back on before sprinting after her.
***
“Armstrong, come in Armstrong, over.” Arnold sounded supremely fed up as he tried to reach her. Kathy and Rico were beside him, tracking the weather systems for the next few days and working out how their dinosaur care plans might be affected.
"She isn't in the park." Kathy called to him. "She went to Muldoon's."
"Then why the Hell is she not answering, huh?! Somethin's goin' on, I'm tellin ya!" Arnold threw his radio down and spoke into his phone instead. "No, no, nothing's wrong, buddy. It's a big island, that's all."
Tom's voice drawled over the radio. "Dr Armstrong isn't feeling well, can I take a message?"
"She with you, Kennedy?" Arnold asked grumpily.
There was a break as Tom clearly consulted with someone off-air. "...who wants to know?"
"Her New York man's on the phone. It's important, apparently. Needs to get her butt down here, now. Over and out." Arnold clicked off and yelled to Kathy again. "I told you this tie was a mistake, Kitty-Kat! I am not a messenger boy!"
***
An important call from Simon. Something awful must have happened. He'd only rang her yesterday, when he'd agreed to visit.
Lizzy wasn't sure she could take any more bad news so close together. Sorry she whispered to Ray as she hurried in, he was glaring at her furiously.
“I'm here. Who died?" She asked abruptly as she took the phone.
“Huh? Nobody died, Liz! I just have some good news. Some really great news, in fact. Gonna make your whole month, babe. Couldn't wait until I saw you in person."
“Out with it then!" Maybe a little snappy, she realised.
“Uh, okay, well since I was promoted to partner at the law firm, my folks gave me a bit of money. Rather a lot of money, actually, and Liz-“ Simon paused for effect. “-we’re getting married in a year. A year next Tuesday to be exact. I did it. I booked the Plaza.”
“Oh.” Lizzy didn’t know what to say. “I, uh-…” She should be excited. But dread was rapidly filling her from the toes of her boots upwards.
Kathy, Rico and Ray had stopped conversing and were quietly watching her, sensing something was wrong.
“And my mom’s picked out a dress for you. Isn’t that great?”
What?
She fumbled for whoever’s hand was closest and grabbed it before sinking down in a chair.
“Hermana?” Rico was immediately concerned. “Lizzy?”
Suddenly she was struggling to take a breath. Her chest felt like she was being crushed inwards by a boa constrictor. Kathy stared at her hard for a moment before scurrying off to source a glass of water.
”Liz? Isn’t that great?” Simon repeated.
She didn't really hear him. She was back in Africa. Standing in the pink dawn glow, looking out to the horizon, listening to the waking calls of animals and birds echoing across the plains.
New York was crowded, and cold, and a different kind of noise. The grey kind.
Then she thought of Costa Rica, her new home. African animals replaced by dinosaurs bellowing through the hills. Her job, the job of a lifetime. The countless doors that had opened for her and her research because she was working at Jurassic Park. Simon had never understood why she just couldn’t stop, couldn't give it up, and he would never try to.
It was all so very clear now. Whether he visited or not, they just weren't going to work. They had both changed, no longer two kids in New York City, too different now.
“Uh, hello? Liz? Say something, please.” Now Simon sounded worried.
“You should have asked.” She replied quietly.
“Sorry, the line broke up just then. What did you say?”
She suddenly felt unbearably hot. The control room was so stuffy. Her breathing was shallower, she felt like she couldn't breathe out, only in, and that her ribcage might burst from the pressure.
Lizzy had always wanted a family. A real one. Ten years ago, when she first met Simon she had thought that meant a husband and kids. A Volvo and a house you paid a mortgage on. Picket fences. The American Dream. But her friends on Isla Nublar, Jeff back in Africa, that was her family.
Falling into fits of laughter with Kathy when they tried and failed to toast marshmallows on the stovetop without setting off the fire alarm. Gerry making her coffee just right. Ray's sarcastic comments that always made her laugh no matter her mood. That was home. And Simon wasn't going to ever be part of it.
She couldn't, wouldn't get married. She didn't want it, and nobody was listening to her.
“That’s very generous of them-“ She blinked hard to keep the tears in check. “But I told you, tried to tell you, I don’t want a big wedding.”
“Yeah, but this way you don’t need to worry. It’s taken care of. It’s happening.”
It’s happening. He hadn't even asked her. Africa had never seemed further away. And now Isla Nublar was being ripped from her, twice in the same day.
“Babe...aren’t you excited?”
“Simon!” She started to panic. “There isn’t going to be anyone on my side of the room in New York!”
There was a long pause, and she knew she was in trouble.
“Mom said you’d be like this.” He told her flatly. “You’d find a reason to hate it.”
“I thought we were talking about getting married in Africa-“ She tried to pacify him.
“Well, it isn’t always about what you want, Liz!” Simon was clearly upset. “I’ve waited long enough for you. We need to start having kids, before-“
“Before what?”
“Before you’re too old!”
“What did you just say?” Lizzy raised her voice, and for once, Simon didn't back down.
“You know what I mean! We’re thirty-four, and well…no offence, but time’s running out.”
“What’s happening?” Tom walked into the control room. "You havin' a team party without me? Nice, real nice." Kathy hushed him.
“I can’t do this.” Lizzy couldn’t believe the words were coming out of her mouth.
“What do you mean?” Simon’s tone became negotiating when he finally realised she was genuinely upset. “Look, if it’s that big of a deal to you we can postpone, again-“
“No, we can’t.”
“It’s fine. Maybe the year after next.”
It wasn’t fine. Nothing was fine.
“No. I can't do this. I don’t want to get married. To you…I don’t want to get married to you.”
“You don’t mean that.”
She didn't deny.
“Lizzy? Tell me you don’t mean it.”
“I can’t-“ Lizzy gulped and crushed the life out of Rico’s hand. “I don’t want to anymore. You and me. I’m so sorry-“
The disconnect tone sounded. He had hung up.
She slowly put the phone down herself, and realised what she’d done. Regret, pain, and most worrying of all, relief, filled her to the brim.
Arnold spoke first. "Baby girl, I'm so sor-"
Lizzy held up a hand. She wanted quiet. Her mind was going off the rails.
"Shit..." Tom wasn't much help.
Kathy pushed the glass of water towards her. "What do you need?"
"Si, hermana. Anything."
Lizzy got up from her chair and took off. She didn’t know where she was going, just that there were too many people staring at her and it was too much for her to stand. She ran out into the park.
***
”Lizzy, hun!” Kathy screamed into the trees. She was getting desperate. It had been hours. The sun was sinking low, Lizzy wouldn’t stay out all night…would she?
Damn, but the island was a lot safer than the middle of the Namibian bush. It was still warm enough to sleep out. Lizzy was sure as Heck stubborn.
But accidents happen. She might have tripped and broken her ankle, and be lying unconscious at the bottom of a valley.
“Where are you, girl?” She whispered. “Don’t do this to me.”
“Want me to round up the guys for a search party?” Isaac asked her. “We could check the motion sensors too?”
“Worth a shot, but she might not be moving. Cameras won’t pick her up.” Kathy groaned.
“Well then, what do we do?”
“We don’t need a search party.” Kathy turned to walk back towards the lodge. “Unless it's a party of one."
***
Kathy made a shooing motion and nodded towards the door. "Go on, get out there. Do what you do best. Go hunt."
"It's a bit more complicated than that. And why wasn't I informed before now?" Muldoon asked gravely. "Have you been making decisions again, Baker?"
"Tom told me what happened. Between you and Lizzy. That she didn't take the idea of moving to Sorna very well." Kathy answered quietly.
"She did not." Massive understatement. Although at least he wasn't the main reason she'd done a runner. In a rather interesting development, Armstrong was no longer engaged. Which meant that his plan for Sorna had gone awry. But Muldoon couldn't worry about that yet. At this moment in time, she was a missing person. His priority was to retrieve her, and quickly.
"Well, she's not back, it's dark and we're out of options. Can you find her or what?" Kathy demanded.
"Almost certainly. She won’t get very far, at least." Muldoon grumbled as he headed to the door.
"Need some help, boss?" Tom offered.
"Hunted more vicious things than her, I'll be fine." Muldoon answered. "Maybe I should take a shock prod though, what do you reckon?"
Kathy just stared at him, open-mouthed. Even Tom looked stunned.
"I was joking." He muttered. "Christ, that bloody woman."
***
Think like Armstrong.
Damn, now that was a scary notion.
At least they were on an island. Even so, thirty square miles was a massive search area. He had to narrow it down.
So, let’s go about this logically. If he knew her, which he did of course, then this disappearing act was her way of saying she needed help. She just didn’t know how to ask, and she hated appearing weak in front of the lads.
Meaning, she wanted someone to come and get her, bring her back. She had to know it would most likely be him, since he was the only person on the island that could track worth a damn, except for Kennedy, perhaps.
So where would Armstrong go, that only he might think of?
Muldoon braked hard and put the Jeep in reverse, going back on himself to take the other turning that led towards the tyrannosaur paddock.
Of course that’s where she is.
He was certain she would be perched on the very same tree she’d riddled with bullets not long ago. A place not obvious to just anyone.
Fortunately, Muldoon wasn’t just anyone.
He chose to kill the ignition and stalk the last few hundred metres. Headlights and engine noise might scare her off, if she thought she was in trouble.
Muldoon was actually enjoying himself. Out in the park alone, at night, was a rare opportunity. Good to know he hadn’t lost his touch. It had been a long while, since he had needed to hunt for…anything, really. And this time, he had no weapon.
Because he was hunting for a wildcat. He found the clearing where the fallen tree was, without much difficulty.
”I know you’re here, Armstrong.”
He hadn’t heard her, yet. Just a feeling. That from somewhere close by, he was being watched. And his feelings, instincts, call it what you will, were very rarely wrong.
“Hurry up and say something, woman, before I trip over you.” No girl this time. He did value his life, somewhat.
If he remembered correctly the tree was off to the left, in the direction of where the tyrannosaur was rumbling around in her paddock.
Muldoon reached for his torch and scanned the ground in front of him.
Ah, there it was. He had been right all along. Boot prints tracked away from him through the mud. Looked about a size seven US. Yes, she was definitely here, definitely wanted someone to come and get her. She knew better than to wear her distinctively small boots in boggy ground if she was trying to hide from him. The prints were partially filled with water, and the surface wobbled every few seconds. Rexy was on the move.
“Over here.” A small Scottish voice finally spoke up. “How’d you know?”
Muldoon pointed the torch in the right direction. Sure enough, hazel eyes were staring back at him in the beam of light.
“Because I know you, daft bugger.” He went to sit down next to her on the tree trunk. “Can’t hide from me.”
They were silent for a few minutes, until his radio hissed, earning a quick grunt from the startled tyrannosaur.
“-uldoon, give me some good news. Can’t see you on the monitor anymore, over.” Arnold complained.
“Found her.”
”Oh! Oh thank God- Is she-“ Kathy started babbling away until Muldoon answered she’s fine curtly and switched his radio off. They could wait.
”I had to leave, it was all a bit much.” Her voice was hoarse. She’d been crying. “Just needed some space.”
“Nobody can hear you scream out here. Except the tyrannosaur.”
”That was kind of the point.” She let her head flop back, staring up at the stars.
“Still a bloody stupid thing to do. Running off like that.”
Away from her problems, yet again.
”You must be fuming.” She stated unhappily.
“Baker’s the one who’ll crucify you when we get back.”
Just glad you’re safe. He thought the words but didn’t say them. “Did you ever pull a stunt like this with Blacklaw?” Distracting her was a good move.
“No, but he grounded me once.”
Muldoon turned his laugh into a cough. The thought of his mate attempting to ground an unrelated woman in her twenties who wasn’t much shorter than him was quite funny.
“What on Earth did you do?”
“I called Sarah Harding a c-, er…the c-word. To her face.” Lizzy grimaced. “Apparently it’s much more offensive in the States.”
“Practically a friendly greeting, back in Glasgow, I’d imagine.”
”That’s what I said!” Lizzy groaned. "Thought she was going to bloody bite me."
"Wouldn't put it past her."
"At least I won't run into her anymore if she comes to visit Gerry, since I’m meant to be packing, I suppose.”
Muldoon shifted uncomfortably. Ah, Sorna. Now he had his wits back about him, maybe he had been too hasty about sending Armstrong away. He’d acted out of spite, hadn’t asked, just told her.
”Don’t worry about Sorna at the moment.” He said eventually. “We’ll talk about it properly in the morning. When we’re both more rational.”
”Really? Do I get some input this time?” That seemed to cheer her up a little.
”You can plead your case.”
She sniffed loudly and nodded.
“Shall I give you a lift back?” It was more of a threat than a question.
There was the faintest scuff of gravel as she planted her feet further apart. Was she really about to give him the runaround?
Oh no, he wasn’t having that.
“Careful. If you think I won’t drag you back inside that Jeep just to get Baker off my case, think again.”
She was silent, the cogs were turning. Trying to figure out if she was faster than him. In the dark. Without her glasses.
Not a chance he thought.
Was she going to bolt? Or just feeling well enough now to wind him up about attempting it?
He liked either choice, to be honest. Both meant she’d forgiven him.
“Don’t do it, Armstrong.” He warned. “Don’t you dare run.”
I’d catch you. And it would make my day.
She turned to him with a tiny smile. “Yeah, okay, you win. Let’s head back.”
***
On the journey back, Lizzy took off her engagement ring.  She rolled the Jeep window down, looked out at the jungle, down at the band, debating, then rolled the window back up again, still with the ring in the palm of her hand.
”Say you lost it. Believable enough.” Muldoon offered. He’d seen the state of her bedroom.
”Better not. It was his great-grandma’s. Survived a concentration camp. Makes me a complete arsehole.” Lizzy decided. “I’ll send it back.”
”Shame, that rock would probably put my daughter through university.”
”How is she?” Lizzy was grateful for the change in subject.
”Thoroughly enjoying being the class elephant expert, thanks to you.”
She nodded, pleased. She’d spent ages on that book. Good to know her efforts were appreciated.
Lizzy felt guilty now that Muldoon had gone to all this trouble for her. She would've come back of her own accord, eventually.
She didn't remember running from the control room, or even what direction she went in once she left the building. Only that she somehow reached the tyrannosaur paddock at twilight just as the quartz lights were coming on, all over the park. Her favourite time of day.
It had seemed a good place to stop. Not too far from home, but quiet, where she wouldn't be disturbed. She'd found the fallen tree and sat for a long time as the darkness drew in around the island, listening to the bugs buzzing around and the stegosaurs lowing like cattle as they gathered together for the night.
And then Muldoon had found her. Lizzy surprised herself with how glad she was to hear his voice in the darkness, despite their falling-out.
She was even more relieved, yet  surprised he didn’t have Kathy in tow, the renowned over-thinker. Lizzy didn’t want to analyse every detail of her break-up right at that minute. Maybe never.
What did it matter? It was over now.
Muldoon put the Jeep in neutral and idled out of view of the visitor complex for a minute, turning to speak to her. “I can drive you around the other side, if you’d rather. Sneak you in through the garage. You don’t have to face everyone just yet.”
She shook her head. “It’s okay. Can’t avoid them forever.”
He nodded and they moved off again. Kathy was waiting for them on the steps at the sound of the engine in the distance, hopping from one foot to the other, trying to see if there were two people inside the Jeep.
As they drew up Lizzy spoke again.
”Thank you.”
”For what, exactly?”
”Just for knowing."
He had a feeling she didn’t mean how he'd worked out exactly where to find her. Lizzy got out of the Jeep and walked straight into Kathy's arms, holding her tightly in a hug long after the vehicle moved off again.
Muldoon ended up sitting in the parked Jeep by himself for a while, doing some thinking of his own in the garage.
Armstrong was single. It hadn't really sunk in yet.
Since she’d floored Richardson with that technical question within the first hour of her first day, he’d fancied her something terrible. And it was only getting worse the more time they spent together.
Simply put, she was brilliant. And she wasn't the only one who wanted a challenge.
But in a way, this was worse, much worse. Before, she was completely off-limits, for obvious reasons.
Now there was hope, but Muldoon's hopes had been dashed before. He wasn’t sure if he could take much more of it.
***
Thanks for reading!
The chapter title song is one that Tim Finn wrote just before he and Greta Scacchi split up in 1989. Greta in the 90s is my faceclaim for Lizzy. The song seemed fitting for this one 🖤
And Lizzy and Simon are through. A comfortable relationship isn’t always a happy one, unfortunately.

Gone Like the Wind - Trainjago Oneshot Ft. FSM and Favrile(OC)
Among the gentle tickering of dishes on uneven surfaces shone the light in gentle rays. The tall flat-headed spikes of rock cut the sun out in breaks, becoming more frequent as the train carried on its course through the canyon. From the chair he sat, sipping away at his cider and keeping an eye on the time and his surroundings. This trip was especially important, if not for the joys of being a round trip for this engine’s first time, but for the special guest who decided to let himself rest from his travels.
The door from the steam room opened up as the conductor called to him, "Time."    "Yep yep," Favrile set his mug down and fixed his gloves, double checking his pockets for everything. Wallet, glasses case, log book, keys... He played with them in his hand, squeezing the metal together as he set his jaw.
The cart slid down the aisle of the first car, then the second, third, stopping at the people who wanted a refill or a bite. Conversation was struck up a few times, about the train, about the location, the news and weather, and he laughed in the light atmosphere.
He closed the door behind him in the final passenger car, where he awkwardly locked an eye with the special guest himself. "Sorry, Master, tried to be as quick as I could, I know this stuff cools down pretty quickly."    The man with the straw hat and hidden eyes sat lazily in the booth. He was the only one in this car, sitting alone in silence with nothing but the sound of the cars rumbling along the beams. "Don't be sorry, I would just like more water." He chuckled.    "O-of course," Far tipped his hat some and reached for the pitcher.    The liquid filled the glass, "This ride is going smooth, a lot more smooth than I thought." the FSM took a sip.    Favrile gleamed, "We wouldn't want anything less for our passengers, such a long ride needs to be comfortable. The engine on this one is one I made myself ah, has a lot in the reservation and efficiency department, and less on the lode and speed. Have you ever seen an engine room before?" the words fell from his mouth without him even thinking. Internally he kicked himself.    "No, actually, I haven't. That's partly the reason why I wanted to take this trip, to learn a bit more about how my world has evolved."     Far stared at him with a smile that was held by a dozen invisible fish hooks as he held the pitcher, "I can show you it right now if you'd like! I'm sure Wuul wouldn't mind trading shifts." He pushed the cart down a little further and let Him out of his seat before going over and holding open the door to the outside. "Just go right on ahead."
"Thanks, oh-" the knob didn't budge. "It's locked."    "What?" Far let go of the cart he was retrieving and went over to test it. indeed, the door of the next car over was locked from the inside. He immediately started patting around for the keys, feeling his wallet, glasses case, log book and... "I don't have them.." He stared wide-eyed, looking about and grabbing for the ladder. "Don't worry I'll be back, I just gotta get them."    The FSM laughed at the mild inconvenience, "Don't fret so much, I'll come with you." He, as well, grabbed onto the ladder.
He felt his heart pounding in his ears, "It's dangerous to be doing this Master, are you sure?" Far called from the roof, holding a hand out for him. It was in motion now, he thought, it was now or never. Giving him a chance would mean losing a chance.
"Certainly, I've been alive for a long time, a little wind never-" The yank cut him off and loosened his footing, the FSM scrambling to latch onto anything other than the assailant that pulled.    Favrile let go, watching him fall and snag onto the lower railing. He glared and slid down the rungs, slamming his black boots into his fingers over and over. The FSM gasped and yelped, trying to get enough air against the pressure and pain to scream for help.     Favrile noted the action, causing him to him to grab the rail and leap over, letting his body weight slam against him and knocking him loose once more.
The cars behind jittered uncomfortably from the object that had lodged itself in their path, the noise being brief as they carried on and reduced it to paste.    Favrile wedged his boot into the gap between the bar and the car to catch himself, gasping and pulling himself back over the railing onto the floor grate with a thud. He huffed and pulled himself to his feet, blinking a few times as if it were a dream he was trying to wake from. He leaned over the side, expecting something or someone to pop up, but there was nothing beyond the stony canyon walls.
"Time," Far chimed as he pulled the cart back in and set the trays back on the heater.    Wuul looked up from the newspaper, "That took longer than normal."    "Yeah. Was looking for The Master, but I guess he had other plans." He sat down in the chair rather stiffly.    Wuul nodded, "Gone like the wind, he's mysterious like that I guess. But if you're God you can do anything like that." He looked back down at the paper.    "Yeah, Gone like the wind."

What: Closed starter for @robinastrea When: 5/23/2022 - the day after the meetup with the Bat Ray crew at Fallout Where: The Prosperity - First Mate’s office
Not for the first time in the last few weeks, Skylar felt like his life had been turned on its head overnight. That feeling wasn’t exactly uncommon in his life, but what was unusual was that for once, the sudden change that had come about was one he actually wanted, and as far as he could tell there weren’t any downsides.
For the most part, he wasn’t all that concerned with how the crew of the Prosperity found out that he and Ali had gotten (back) together last night. He figured it would be exceedingly obvious to everyone very soon anyway, but there were a few people he would like to tell personally - and beyond that, a few people who he felt like he really owed an explanation to. If nothing else, he at least needed to make sure the twins were the first to know, and that they got the full story. He knew he’d probably been worrying them lately, just like he’d worried them twelve years ago when he’d come back from earth brokenhearted. He hadn’t explained it back then - the twins had still been kids at the time, for one thing. More than that though, talking about it was painful - it had been easier to just keep that part of himself closed off, like it had been a chapter out of someone else’s life.
He probably should have explained things to them when Ali suddenly walked back into his life. But even though he knew he’d likely been worrying the twins, he just couldn’t find the words to talk to them about it - the situation had been so confusing that Sky hadn’t even known how to explain what was going on to himself, much less anybody else. Now that he finally had some clarity though, letting them know was a top priority. He decided to start with Robin - last night had been great for Sky personally, but he was definitely keenly aware of the fact that it had been very much the opposite for Ryder. He was still going to tell them today, of course - but it seemed like a good idea to give them a little space first to recuperate from their likely hangover before sharing his poorly timed news, at the very least.
"Hey,” Sky greeted, knocking on the door frame to alert the First Mate to his presence. “Got a few minutes? There’s some personal stuff I want to talk to you about. It’s important - but not urgent.” This probably would have been a more concerning statement if it weren’t for the smile on Sky’s face. He looked happier than he had in a while - more relaxed too, if one could simultaneously look relaxed and like they were about ready to bounce off the walls with positive energy. Sky got the affirmative, so he headed on in and closed the door behind him. He didn’t really know where to start here, so he went with the obvious. “So - I know we haven’t really been talking all that much these last couple weeks,” he began, smile fading into something more apologetic. It wasn’t like they hadn’t been talking at all, but there had been a notable decline in conversations on deeper topics. He wasn’t entirely sure what that was about on Robin’s end, but he hadn’t questioned it since it made it easier for him to go on not talking about what was going on with him. “Sorry for not checking in sooner. I had some stuff I was kind of avoiding talking about. I’m not avoiding it anymore, but - before we get into it, how’re you doing? Everything okay?“ Outside of select topics, he’d kind of dropped the ball when it came to checking in on Robin beyond the surface level recently - so doing that now took priority over getting into his own news.

What kind of tests do you have to go through to donate a kidney?
There are a lot! The transplant center really wants to make sure you’re healthy and won’t be harmed by the surgery. Here’s what I went through:
Pre-screening - See previous post
Blood draw
Urine sample
In-depth screening
Blood draw (again)
CT scan of my torso
X-ray of my torso
EKG of my heart
Psychological evaluation
Dietary evaluation
Physical exam from the nephrologist
24-hour urine sample (I had to collect this and bring it in!)
Pap test
If you have a cervix, you’ll have to either get a pap test, send in the result of a recent pap test, or send in a note from an OBGYN supporting your request to donate.
This was actually the hardest part for me. My body did not like the speculum! Fortunately, by OBGYN’s letter of support was enough to get me cleared to donate. Most people with cervices will not have the same difficulty or pain I did.
DNA and antibody collection - See previous post
Received cheek swab kit in the mail for collecting DNA/antibody sample. Dropped it off at FedEx.
This was the first time I’d had a CT scan or EKG, so those felt a bit wild. The CT scan machine was very loud and I had to lay still as the bed moved in and out of it. It also felt a bit awkward wearing a hospital gown and letting the EKG person put sensors on my chest. (“Sorry, we get real up close and personal here.” “No worries.”)
The psychological evaluation with the social worker was easy. Their job is to help you manage your expectations, understand the risks, and know what you’re getting into. They want to make sure you’re not being pressured by anyone to donate, that you aren’t being paid for your kidney, and that they can’t reveal the recipient’s identity or contact information to you. Since I didn’t want contact with the recipient anyway, that was no problem.
The dietary evaluation is important because you’re a little more vulnerable with only one kidney compared to two. A good diet helps keep that kidney healthy. I’m vegetarian, so the dietitian gave extra attention to my iron and B12 levels. She and the nephrologist later suggested I take an iron supplement just to be safe, though they don’t have serious concerns.
I also met with the transplant surgeon himself. He’s also the urologist on the team. Cool guy, said that kidney donations were his favorite part of his job. ("Much more rewarding than prescribing Viagra.”)
None of these experiences were scary, but I can see how they might be intimidating or stressful if you don’t know what to expect. If you want to donate a kidney, you just have to let the doctors invade your space a bit. But all of them were very nice, helpful and professional! I felt confident that these people knew their shit.

A Tale Of Three Dojos (Cobra Kai story): Chapter 6
Stingray was in his sister's house. He ate breakfast, then he made coffee.
Stingray took a sip of his coffee and winced. "That's hot."
Stingray waited for his coffee to cool down, then he went outside and grabbed the morning newspaper. His sister's neighbour, Greg, was cleaning his car.
Stingray spoke. "Good morning, Greg."
When Greg was done cleaning his car, he turned off his hose and walked up to Stingray.
Greg looked annoyed. "No, it isn't! You know why? Because some freeloader was blaring shitty Metallica all night."
"That was actually Exodus's Bonded by Blood, but it's not your fault you don't know the genre." Stingray said.
"You do know your sister doesn't want you crashing here, right? She only took pity on you because you are an unemployed man-baby on probation." Greg said.
Stingray took a sip of his coffee.
"I'm actually off probation now. I'm showered and groomed. I have somewhere important to be today." Stingray said.
Greg spoke. "Oh, well, that's good. Congratulations. Good for you. That means you can take your perfect circle of a body and roll your sloppy ass out of our neighbourhood."
"Step it back a smidge. You drive a Miata. Think you're the King of Egypt? I don't know much about cars, but I do know that's not top of the line." Stingray said.
"This is coming from a man who has a squirrel obstacle course in his backyard. Do you have any friends, Raymond?" Greg asked.
"I believe it was Emerson who said that a friend is the hope of the heart." Stingray said.
"Yeah, well, it was Hughes who said get your God damn frisbees off my roof, or I'm calling the police." Greg snapped.
"Hughes because it's your last name? Clever. Listen, those are aerobies, Greg. They're not frisbees. Different disc. I…I don't have time to talk about that, 'cause my dojo needs me. So...Got to go. Sorry." Stingray started walking towards his sister's house.
"That's right. I forgot, Raymond. You like to hang with a bunch of kids and play kung fu all day. It is pathetic." Greg said.
Stingray stopped walking.
Stingray turned to face Greg.
"It's not kung fu. It's Cobra Kai. And it's not Raymond anymore. My name is S..." Stingray trailed off.
"Stingray. Yeah, I know. And as much as you try to clean your life up, you still stink, Ray." Greg said.
Greg chuckled. "Stink-Ray!"
"That is so much more appropriate! Stink-Ray!" Greg yelled.
"Tread carefully, Greg. You mess with a cobra, you get the fangs." Stingray warned.
Stingray walked into his sister's house.
In the back of the Cobra Kai dojo, Terry was hitting a punching bag.
Kreese appeared. "Time for class."
Terry's back was to Kreese.
Terry stopped hitting the punching bag.
Terry panted as he turned to Kreese.
"Listen, John, I just want you to know I haven't forgotten what you did for me. I wouldn't be here if not for you. And I'll do anything to prove my loyalty. Anything." Terry said.
"Let's go to work, Sensei." Kreese told Terry.
Terry smiled.
Kreese walked away. Terry followed him.
The students were warming up.
Kyler spoke. "Guys, the limo is coming at six. Don't be late, or else we're leaving. My date and I are on a mission."
Piper scoffed. "Oh, my God. I bet she doesn't even exist."
Robby walked up to Tory. "Hey. Are you…Uh…Are you going to go?"
"To prom? Yeah, right. Let the rich kids have their stupid party. Besides, can you picture me in a ballroom dress?" Tory asked.
Kreese and Terry stood in front of the students.
"All right, class, fall in." Kreese told the students.
The students formed a line.
"Today's lesson is about balance. Not the way Miyagi-Do teaches it. You're going to learn how to get inside the heads of your opponents and throw them off balance. Pair up. Aits!" Kreese yelled.
The students paired up.
Tory tried to punch Robby. He blocked the punch.
"You know, you should go. Crashing you-know-who's big night would be a way to get your opponents off balance." Robby said.
"Not as much as if you showed up." Tory said.
"I'm not a student. They won't let me in." Robby said.
"Maybe they would if you went with me." Tory said.
Tory tried to punch Robby. He blocked the punch.
"Did you just ask me to prom?" Robby asked.
"Strictly a tactical move." Tory said.
"Well, it's such short notice. We'd have to get a ride. I'd need a tux." Robby said.
Terry walked up to Robby and Tory. "I think it's a great idea. And if you're going, you're going in style."
Stingray walked into the dojo.
"What's up?" Stingray comically slurred.
"Remember that from the old Bud commercials? I guess you guys were too young for..." Stingray paused. "Probably weren't even born. Eddie, what's going on, man? Hey, good to see you. Dieter, how's your mom doing? Wish she'd call. You could have had a really cool stepdad."
Stingray looked at Kreese. "Sensei! Sir, I am reporting for duty, and I require no thanks."
"Thanks for what?" Kreese asked.
"Oh…Uh, you know, just defending the dojo, and I-I served my time, Sensei sir." Stingray said.
Kreese was annoyed. "Look, we're trying to train for a tournament. Let's carry on, everyone."
"The All-Valley Tourney. I'm well aware. Say, listen, I've got a couple of good ideas. Just basic strategy." Stingray said.
"Don't be ridiculous. You were never part of this team. You're a buffoon. A joker. An embarrassment. You have no value here." Kreese said.
Tears formed in Stingray's eyes.
"Wow. What? But Sensei…I'm…Um…One of the guys, you know," Stingray said, wiping away the tears.
"You will never be Cobra Kai. You get that?" Kreese asked.
Stingray chuckled. "Oh, wait, wait. I've got you. This is a test, right? Yeah, this is a test."
"Get the hell out of here." Kreese ordered.
Stingray cleared his throat. "Challenge accepted."
A bewildered Terry watched as Stingray walked out of the dojo.
That night, Eli drove his car to Johnny and Sarah's apartment complex. He walked into Johnny and Sarah's apartment and made his way to the living room.
Johnny spoke. "Hey."
Eli spoke. "Hey."
Sarah walked out of her room.
"Wow. You look amazing." Eli said.
"Thanks. So do you." Sarah said.
Johnny, Sarah, and Eli walked into Rosa, Carmen, and Miguel's apartment and made their way to the living room.
"Sarah, you look so beautiful." Carmen said.
"Thanks, Carmen." Sarah said.
"Eli, you look so handsome." Carmen said.
"Thanks, Mrs. Diaz." Eli said.
Miguel walked out of his room.
Miguel looked at Sarah and Eli. "You guys look awesome."
"Thanks." Sarah and Eli said.
"Ready to go?" Carmen asked Rosa, Miguel, Johnny, Sarah, and Eli.
Rosa, Miguel, Johnny, Sarah, and Eli nodded.
Carmen, Rosa, Miguel, Johnny, Sarah, and Eli walked out of the apartment.
Johnny, Carmen, and Rosa made their way to Johnny's car. Johnny got in the driver's seat. Carmen got in the passenger's seat. Rosa got in the backseat. Johnny started the engine and drove down the road.
Eli, Sarah, and Miguel made their way to Eli's car. Eli got in the driver's seat. Sarah got in the passenger's seat. Miguel got in the backseat. Eli started the engine and drove down the road.
Daniel, Amanda, Lucille, Louie, and his sister, Vanessa, were in Daniel and Amanda's mansion.
"Why are you cutting the mozzarella? You're going to dry it out. You're losing the juice!" Louie yelled.
Vanessa spoke. "I'm making bruschetta. You let the juice out so the bread doesn't get soggy."
"Let me get in there." Louie moved closer to Vanessa. She slapped his hand, causing him to move away from her.
"If you reach in there again, I'll bite your fat fingers off!" Vanessa yelled.
"But you disrespect..." Louie trailed off.
Daniel was holding a glass of wine.
Amanda was holding a glass of wine.
"Wow. Louie's sister is more Louie than Louie. I get nervous having family over while we're dealing with the Anthony crisis." Amanda said.
Daniel took a sip of his drink. "I know. Bullying is the last thing I ever thought we'd be dealing with."
Amanda spoke. "Yeah, well, two more weeks in his room with no screen time, and he'll get the message."
Daniel spoke. "If he doesn't, maybe we should take him to a professional."
"Whatever happens, can we keep your mom out of this? I'm finally on stable ground with her." Amanda said.
"Okay." Daniel said.
"These are dinner napkins. I'm going to swap 'em out for something a little more appropriate." Lucille said.
Amanda took a sip of her drink. "Whatever you like, Lucille. My house is your house."
Lucille walked towards the cupboards.
The doorbell rang.
Daniel and Amanda set their glasses down on the counter.
Daniel and Amanda walked towards the door.
Daniel opened the door.
Daniel spoke. "Hey. Come on in. Make yourselves at home."
Carmen walked through the door.
Carmen smiled at Amanda. "Hi, Amanda."
Amanda smiled back. "Welcome."
Rosa walked through the door.
Amanda smiled at Rosa. "Hi, Rosa."
Rosa smiled back. "Hi."
Amanda hugged Rosa.
Amanda hugged Carmen. "It's good to see you."
Miguel and Eli walked through the door.
Amanda spoke. "Miguel, Eli, you look dashing."
"Thanks." Miguel said.
Miguel was wearing a black suit, a white dress shirt, a pink bowtie, and black dress shoes with black laces.
"Thanks." Eli said.
Eli was wearing a dark grey blazer with black lapels, a white dress shirt, a black bowtie, black dress pants, and black dress shoes with black laces.
Sarah walked through the door.
Amanda spoke. "Sarah, you look stunning."
"Thanks." Sarah said.
Sarah was wearing black high-heeled pumps and a green dress that ended a few inches below her knees. The dress clung to her upper body before flaring out at her hips. It showed a hint of cleavage. It had spaghetti straps, a v-neck, and a bedazzled waistband. Her naturally straight blonde hair was tied back in a braided bun, save for the two wisps of hair that framed her face. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, and soft brown eyeshadow. Her lip balm was a pretty peach colour.
Johnny walked through the door. He and Daniel did their best not to glare at each other.
Daniel closed the door.
Sam began walking down the stairs.
Amanda spoke. "Okay, here she comes."
Sam reached the bottom of the stairs. She smiled and twirled.
Sam was wearing a pink corsage, black high-heeled pumps with bows on them, and a pink dress that ended a few inches below her knees. The dress clung to her upper body before flaring out at her hips. It showed a hint of cleavage. It had a scoop neckline and spaghetti straps. The straps were bedazzled and had bows on the ends. Her wavy brown hair cascaded down her back and shoulders. Bedazzled barrettes were scattered throughout her hair. Her eyes were framed by long dark lashes. Her eyeshadow was pink, and so was her lipstick. She had bedazzled studs in her ears. They looked like three flowers clustered together.
"Wow. You look amazing." Miguel said.
Sam smiled. "Thanks. So do you."
Sam was holding a pink boutonnière. She attached the boutonnière to Miguel's suit.
"I can't believe we finally have a night to ourselves." Sam said.
Miguel smiled. "Yeah. No karate, no rivalries. Just you and me."
Vanessa grabbed her camera.
"Picture time. Let's go. Diazes, get together." Vanessa told Rosa, Carmen, and Miguel.
Rosa stood to the left of Carmen. She wrapped her arm around Carmen's waist. Miguel stood to the right of Carmen.
Carmen spoke to Miguel. "You look so handsome."
Miguel smiled.
Rosa spoke to Carmen in Spanish. Her words translated to "He looks more and more like his father."
Carmen spoke sternly. "Mama."
Louie was standing next to Johnny.
"So…Uh, how have you been, man? H-How's your weekend going?" Louie asked.
"I'm fine." Johnny said.
"You know, I don't hang out with those biker guys anymore, so..." Louie trailed off.
Carmen spoke. "Johnny, Sarah, Eli, come on."
Johnny stood to the left of Rosa. He wrapped his arm around Rosa's shoulder. Sarah stood next to Miguel. Eli stood next to Sarah.
Vanessa raised her camera. "Okay."
Rosa, Carmen, Miguel, Johnny, Sarah, and Eli smiled. Johnny raised his fist.
Vanessa's camera went off.
"Beautiful. Let's get the LaRussos together. Anthony!" Vanessa yelled.
"Uh, no, he doesn't need to come down." Daniel said.
"Oh." Vanessa said.
Anthony walked down the stairs. "I thought I was supposed to stay in my room."
"Who told you to stay in your room? He's grounded? What happened?" Lucille asked.
"Ma, we'll talk about it later, okay?" Daniel asked.
Vanessa spoke. "All right, everybody, one big happy family. Let's go."
Daniel spoke. "Find your spot."
Rosa, Carmen, Miguel, Johnny, Sarah, Eli, Sam, Amanda, Lucille, and Anthony moved around the living room, trying to figure out where to stand.
"Even Louie can get in the picture." Daniel joked.
Carmen stood to the right of Rosa. Johnny stood to the left of Rosa. He wrapped his arm around Rosa's shoulder. Rosa wrapped her arm around Carmen's waist. Sarah stood next to Carmen. Eli stood next to Sarah. Miguel stood next to Eli. Sam stood next to Miguel. Amanda stood next to Sam. She put her hand on Sam's arm. Daniel stood next to Amanda. Lucille stood next to Daniel. Anthony stood next to Lucille. He put his hands in his pockets. Louie stood next to Anthony. He put his left arm on Anthony's shoulder. He wrapped his right arm around Anthony's neck.
Vanessa raised her camera. "All right. One, two, three."
Carmen, Rosa, Johnny, Sarah, Eli, Miguel, Sam, Amanda, Daniel, Lucille, Anthony, and Louie smiled.
Vanessa's camera went off.
"Bye, everyone." Sarah waved as she, Eli, Miguel, and Sam walked out of the mansion.
Eli, Sarah, Miguel, and Sam made their way to Eli's car. Eli got in the driver's seat. Sarah got in the passenger's seat. Miguel and Sam got in the backseat. Eli started the engine and drove down the road.
Johnny and Carmen arrived at their apartment complex.
"Well, looks like it's just us tonight. What should we do?" Carmen asked.
"Uh…Is that a trick question?" Johnny asked.
"I meant for dinner. Not a trick. Uh…Ooh, maybe I'll make un hornado de chancho." Carmen said.
"Johnny."
Johnny and Carmen turned around and saw Shannon standing behind them.
"Who's that?" Carmen asked.
"Shannon, this is..." Johnny trailed off.
"Carmen. His girlfriend." Carmen said.
"Hi. I'm…" Shannon paused. "Robby's mom."
Shannon looked at Johnny. "Can we talk?"
"It's nice to meet you." Carmen walked into her apartment.
"What's going on?" Johnny asked.
"Don't you have a phone?" Shannon asked.
"Yeah. Inside." Johnny said.
"All right, look, this rich guy, Terry Silver, came by my apartment today and gave Robby a car to take to prom, saying that he and his date were going to go first class all the way." Shannon said.
"Robby's going to prom?" Johnny asked.
Shannon took some money out of her pocket. "That's not the point. He gave me this. He said he wanted to make sure Robby was taken care of and he'd find me a new place to live. He even offered me a job. Doing what? I didn't ask, but if there's one kind of person I know, it's a rich guy who wants something."
"Son of a bitch," Johnny muttered.
"I tried to talk to Robby, but this guy has his hooks in him. Since this is Cobra Kai or whatever, you need to handle this." Shannon told Johnny.
"Don't worry. I will." Johnny said.
At his mansion, Daniel was talking to Louie. "I said no, all right?"
"I'm telling you, cuz, she's really good. She's in her second year of grad school for child psychology." Louie said.
Amanda walked over to Daniel and handed him a bottle of beer.
"Who is?" Amanda asked.
"Uh…Cousin Vanessa. She wants to help out with Anthony." Daniel said.
Amanda laughed. "Oh, no offense, but if we were going to get a pro, we could do better than Marisa Tomei Junior."
"I am offended. I'm going to make you eat those words. Hey, Ness! Nessa! Come here!" Louie yelled.
Daniel spoke sternly. "Louie."
Vanessa approached Louie, Daniel, and Amanda.
Louie spoke. "Hey, sis, tell them what you told me about Ant."
"I mean…I can't say for sure what his deal is." Vanessa said.
Daniel spoke. "That's fine."
Amanda spoke at the same time as Daniel. "That's too bad."
"My educated guess would be environmentally-induced Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, possibly related to a screen dependency, or full-blown IGD. I'd want to look at the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. It's an evolving science." Vanessa said.
Daniel and Amanda exchanged a shocked look.
"Uh, okay. Uh, well…Have at him. He's upstairs. Second door on the left." Daniel said.
"Oh, that's not how this works. I don't want to talk to him. I want to talk to you." Vanessa said.
Daniel scoffed.
Eli, Sarah, Miguel, and Sam arrived at the prom venue.
The song Living in a Daydream by Matthew Goodman was playing.
Miguel grabbed Sam's hand and led her to the dance floor. They started dancing.
Sarah made her way to the dance floor. Eli followed her. They started dancing.
Sam giggled as Miguel lifted her and spun her around.
Demetri was standing next to a table.
Sarah and Eli walked up to Demetri.
"This sucks. Prom without a date is like Halloween with no candy. There's no point." Demetri said.
Demetri was wearing a black suit with the ghosts from Pac-Man on it, a coral pink dress shirt, a coral pink necktie, and black dress shoes with black laces.
"If it makes you feel better, you're not the only one in for a boring night. Logan Wang's after-party got canceled. His brother got into some middle school fight." Sarah said.
"Demetri."
Demetri, Sarah, and Eli turned around and saw Yasmine walking towards them.
Yasmine's dress was red. It had spaghetti straps, a v-neck, and a floor-length skirt. It showed a hint of cleavage. Her straight blonde hair was gathered at the left side of her head in a braid, save for the two wisps of hair that framed her face. Silver diamond-shaped earrings dangled from her earlobes. A silver hoop looped through the upper cartilage of her right ear. A round silver stud pierced the lower cartilage of her right ear.
"Oh, my…" Demetri trailed off.
Yasmine smiled and twirled.
"Jessica Rabbit! W-What are you doing here?" Demetri asked.
"I just flew in." Yasmine said.
"W-What about your dad's wedding?" Demetri asked.
"Oh, I'll get back in time. You're more important." Yasmine chuckled. Her fingertips slowly moved up Demetri's arm.
"I even flew economy plus, which is total shit. The seats don't even lie flat." Yasmine said.
"Wow. You really do like me, huh?" Demetri asked.
"Oh, you have no idea." Yasmine kissed Demetri.
Yasmine grabbed Demetri's hand. "Come on. Let's go dance."
"Yes, my queen." Demetri said.
Yasmine led Demetri to the dance floor.
"Whoo!" Demetri cheered.
Yasmine laughed.
"Let's go!" Demetri yelled.
Moon and Riley started talking to a girl Moon was friends with. After the conversation ended, they made their way to the dance floor. They bumped into Yasmine and Demetri.
Yasmine gasped happily. "Hi."
Moon smiled. "Hi! I can't believe you're here!"
Moon's dress was floor-length and had a sweetheart neckline that turned into off-the-shoulder sleeves. The dress showed a hint of cleavage. It was multicoloured. The top was turquoise, and the skirt was a mix of light blue, coral pink, and turquoise. Her hair was crimped and flowed down her back, save for the section of hair that was tied up behind her head in a ponytail. Earrings with tassels on them dangled from her earlobes. The earrings were multicoloured. The top of each earring was turquoise, and the bottom was a mix of light blue, coral pink, and turquoise.
Riley was wearing a black suit, a white dress shirt, a black necktie, and black dress shoes with black laces.
Yasmine, Demetri, Moon, and Riley started dancing.
Sarah made her way to the dance floor. Eli followed her. They started dancing.
Piper and Carly were standing next to Kyler and his date.
Kyler was wearing a baby pink velvet blazer, a white dress shirt, a black bowtie, black dress pants, and black loafers.
Kyler's date was a tall and slim girl with fair skin and long straight blonde hair that was parted in the middle. Her dress was blue. It was sleeveless. It had a high neck, a bejeweled bodice, and a floor-length skirt.
Piper was wearing a black bowtie, black high-heeled pumps, and a strapless black leather dress with a sweetheart neckline and a floor-length skirt. The neckline showed a hint of cleavage. The skirt was open in the front, revealing the shorts that were attached to the inside of it. They were so short that they were practically underwear. Her curly brown hair was pushed back. A thin silver headband rested on top of her head. The headband had a star on each side. A silver hoop looped through each earlobe.
Carly was wearing black high-heeled pumps and a purple dress with spaghetti straps, a v-neck, and a floor-length skirt. The dress showed a hint of cleavage. Her wavy blonde hair cascaded down her back and shoulders. She had on a light amount of black eyeliner, a light amount of black mascara, soft brown eyeshadow, and nude lip gloss.
Carly pulled out her 2017 iPhone X.
Carly raised her phone. "Okay. One, two, three."
Piper, Carly, Kyler, and his date smiled. Carly took a picture.
Carly put her phone away.
The song Ignite by NineOneOne started playing.
Miguel and Sam walked towards the punch bowl.
Sam kicked off her shoes and rubbed her feet.
"High heels?" Miguel asked.
"No, no. It's the flying tornado kick Johnny had me practicing. I just don't understand how I'm going to use it in the tournament." Sam said.
Sam poured herself a glass of punch.
"I thought we said no karate talk." Miguel said.
"Right, right. Tonight is just about us." Sam said.
Sam put her shoes back on.
Sam poured Miguel a glass of punch.
Sam smiled and raised her glass. "Cheers."
Robby and Tory walked through the door. Their arms were linked.
Sam's eyes widened. "Oh, my God."
Robby and Tory looked at Miguel and Sam.
Robby was wearing a maroon blazer with black lapels, a white boutonnière, a black dress shirt, black dress pants, and black loafers.
Tory was wearing a white corsage, black high-heeled pumps with silver at the top, and a cheetah print dress with long sleeves, shoulder pads, and a v-neck. It reached a few inches below her knees and had a thigh-high slit in the front. It showed a lot of cleavage. Her hair was curly. Her eyes were smoked out with black makeup, and her lips were cherry red. Silver snake-shaped earrings dangled from her earlobes.
The song In Your Eyes by The Weeknd and Kenny G started playing.
Sam and Miguel made their way to the dance floor. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around her waist. They began to sway.
Robby intentionally bumped Miguel's shoulder with his own shoulder as he and Tory walked past Miguel and Sam.
Tory put her left hand on Robby's shoulder. Her right hand connected with Robby's right hand. Robby put his left hand on her waist. They began to sway.
Sam and Miguel were watching Robby and Tory.
"They're watching us." Tory said.
"Let's put on a show, then." Robby responded.
Robby pressed Tory up against his chest. Their feet moved back and forth. He spun her around and then pulled her towards him. He put his left hand on her butt. She raised her right leg. He put his right hand on her thigh. She ran her hands through her hair and looked into his eyes. She put her right hand on his cheek and her left hand on the back of his neck. He lifted her and spun her around. His right hand connected with her right hand, and then he twirled her. He put his right hand on her back and his left hand on her waist. He lowered her body backward. She tilted her head back. He pulled her towards him. They smiled at each other.
Tory put her left hand on Robby's shoulder. Her right hand connected with Robby's right hand. Robby put his left hand on her waist.
Miguel's eyes were on Tory.
Sam spoke. "Miguel."
Miguel looked at Sam. "What? Um…I'm sorry."
Bert and his date walked towards the punch bowl.
Bert's date poured herself a glass of punch.
Bert's date was a tall and slim girl with fair skin and long straight blonde hair that was parted in the middle. Her corsage was white. Her dress was navy blue. It was embellished with sequins. It had spaghetti straps, a v-neck, and a floor-length skirt with a slit in the right side that reached the middle of the thigh and revealed her right leg. It showed a hint of cleavage.
Bert poured himself a glass of punch. "The tournament's coming up in a week. I'm with Eagle Fang Karate. You may have heard of it. It's pretty badass."
Bert was wearing a light grey blazer with black lapels, a white boutonnière, a white dress shirt, a black bowtie, black dress pants, and black high-top Converse sneakers with white laces.
Stingray walked through the door and hid behind a bush.
"Bert. Hey, Bert. Psst. Bert," Stingray whispered.
Bert set his glass of punch down on a table. "I'll be right back."
Bert's date took a sip of her punch. "Mm-hm."
Bert walked away.
Stingray stepped in front of Bert.
"Bert!" Stingray yelled.
"Stingray, what are you doing here?" Bert asked.
"Sorry. You scared me. I need your help, man. I'm trying to rejoin Cobra Kai." Stingray said.
"I'm not in Cobra Kai anymore." Bert said.
"What?" Stingray asked.
"I've got to get back. The slow dance is when I make my move." Bert said.
"Wait. I heard that you guys lost your after-party pad. Is that true?" Stingray asked.
"Yeah. So?" Bert asked.
"So, Stingray has got a move for you. My place. Come to 7010 Halbert. Tell everybody, okay?" Stingray asked.
Stingray left.
Bert walked towards his date.
Johnny broke into the Cobra Kai dojo, hoping to find Kreese and Terry.
"You think changing the lock is going to stop me? Come out, you sons of bitches!" Johnny yelled.
Johnny heard the phone ring. He walked into the office and picked up the phone. "Hello?"
Terry was watching Johnny via security camera footage. "Mr. Lawrence. Breaking and entering, are we?"
"I don't know what your deal is, but you keep your cars and your cash away from my son." Johnny ordered.
"Prom is a special night. Did you even know he was going? Look, as long as Robby's with me, I'm going to take care of him. Oh, and I've got to say, Shannon? She is a special lady and deserves so much better." Terry said.
"Listen to me, you ancient piece of shit. Whatever you and Kreese are up to, I'll kick both your asses to the nursing home." Johnny threatened.
Terry chuckled. "I would love to see you try."
"Corner of Magnolia and Lankershim. You know it well." Terry hung up.
Terry took a sip of his drink.
Terry called Kreese. "Hey. What are you up to?"
At Daniel's mansion, Vanessa attempted to counsel Daniel and Amanda. She deduced that Anthony's behavior was because of parental neglect and their failure to properly discipline him. Amanda became paranoid. Vanessa accused Amanda of acting out and tried to prove it by asking why Daniel and Amanda loved Sam more than Anthony and writing Daniel and Amanda's responses in her notepad. When Amanda took the notepad from Vanessa, it was shown that Vanessa wrote "This is the test." Vanessa declared that Daniel and Amanda failed the test.
Terry brought Kreese to the old Cobra Kai dojo.
"It has been a long time since this place has been a dojo." Terry said.
"They're putting it up for sale. I think it was a candle shop." Kreese said.
Kreese looked around. "This place was always good to us."
"And it will be again. After we win the All-Valley. Going back to our roots. Right here. When it was just you and me. And I've got my agent looking for other locations for when we expand." Terry said.
"Expand?" Kreese asked.
"That's right. I'm making our dream a reality. We're just one tournament victory away." Terry said.
“Well, Terry, I can tell you, as far as surprises go, this is a good one.” Kreese said.
"This is not your only surprise." Terry said.
At the prom venue, couples were slow dancing.
The song LA/Alone by SRRY was playing.
Tory complimented Robby. "You're a good dancer."
"Thank you. My…Uh…My mom was a dancer." Robby said.
"That wasn't an option for me. I had to teach myself." Tory said.
"You're still pretty good. You'd win a karate competition before a dance one." Robby said.
"I hope so. I mean, all these Encino kids have their whole lives cut out for them. I'll never have that. But if I could just win this one time, I could look at that trophy and know I was best at something." Tory said.
Tory looked like she regretted her words. "That's stupid."
"No, it's not. I mean, I get it." Robby said.
Tory put her head on Robby's right shoulder.
"Are they still watching?" Tory asked.
"I don't care." Robby said.
Robby and Tory looked into each other's eyes.
"Me neither." Tory said.
Sam's eyes were on Robby and Tory.
Miguel was annoyed. "Sam."
Sam looked at Miguel. "What?"
Miguel shook his head.
The tires on Johnny's car screeched as he drove to the old Cobra Kai dojo. He parked his car in front of the dojo. He walked into the dojo. He looked around. There was no sign of Terry or Kreese.
"You brought me to the old dojo? Come on out." Johnny ordered.
Johnny got kicked in the face. He groaned as he fell.
Terry looked at Johnny. "That's what you get for betraying your sensei."
Terry walked over to Kreese.
"You got him to come here?" Kreese asked.
"I had to prove my loyalty. You wanted to get back at him, right? Well, here's your chance." Terry said.
"What about focusing on the tournament?" Kreese asked.
"I am focused. The only way that loser has a shot at winning the tournament is with the Diaz kid, right? How's that kid's confidence going to be when he sees his sensei beaten to a pulp? It will totally throw him off balance. Just like your lesson. Unlike him, I actually heed your lessons, Captain." Terry said.
Johnny stood up.
"Hi-yah!" Johnny kicked Terry in the face. Terry fell.
Terry stood up. Johnny punched Terry in the stomach and in the face. He tried to punch Terry again, but Terry blocked the punch. Terry punched him in the throat. Terry kneed him in the stomach. Terry kicked him in the chest. He fell.
Johnny stood up. Terry tried to kick him, but he blocked the kick. He kicked Terry's ankle. Terry tried to kick him, but he blocked the kick. Terry tried to punch him, but he dodged the punch.
Terry looked at Kreese. "Woo-hoo! You see this? Looks like LaRusso taught him some defense."
Terry turned to Johnny. "Okay, pretty boy, let's go. Let's see what you learned."
Terry tried to punch Johnny, but he dodged the punch. Terry tried to punch him again, but he blocked the punch. Terry kicked him in the chest. He fell. He coughed.
Terry grabbed Johnny's arm. He pulled Johnny towards him.
"Guess you didn't learn much, huh? Want to see some more?" Terry asked.
"Let him go. Now." Kreese ordered.
Terry let go of Johnny.
"We agreed to settle this at the tournament, and that's where we're going to do it." Kreese told Terry.
"What happened to "no mercy"?" Terry asked.
"You know, I thought you knew better than to question me." Kreese said.
"I thought this is what you wanted." Terry said.
Kreese stared at Terry intensely.
Terry sighed and shook his head as he walked out of the dojo.
Kreese looked at Johnny, who was on the verge of passing out. He sighed and walked towards the door. He could hear Johnny groaning as he walked through the door.
An upbeat pop song played as the students of West Valley High entered Stingray's house.
Stingray was drinking beer.
"Party time!" Stingray yelled.
A few of the students cheered.
The students dispersed.
Carly and Piper were in the living room, dancing and drinking beer.
Carly and Piper finished their drinks.
"Ready for a refill?" Carly asked.
"Yeah." Piper said.
Carly grabbed Piper's hand and led her to the kitchen.
Sarah and Eli were standing in the living room. She was drinking beer. He was drinking Coke.
Demetri was sitting on the couch. Yasmine was sitting in his lap. They were making out.
"I guess Moon and Riley aren't coming." Sarah said.
Demetri and Yasmine stopped making out and turned to Sarah.
"I'm sorry. Did you say something?" Demetri asked.
"Come on. Let's check out the rest of the house." Yasmine told Demetri.
Demetri and Yasmine stood up. She grabbed his tie and dragged him away.
Demetri smiled. "I'll race you!"
Yasmine giggled.
Sarah and Eli finished their drinks.
Sam and Miguel walked down a hallway.
"No more hard stuff for me. I learned my lesson. I'm just going to grab a beer." Sam said.
"Okay. Grab me one too. I'll find snacks." Miguel said.
Sam walked out of the house.
Miguel made his way to the snack table. He grabbed a plate and put some food on it. When he turned around, he saw Robby standing behind him. They glared at each other for a few seconds, then they walked away.
The music turned off.
Stingray took a sip of his beer. "Whoa! The day the music died. What's going on? Guys, turn it back on."
Greg walked into the living room.
"There are families on this street trying to get some sleep. If y'all don't go home right now, you are going to get arrested for underage drinking!" Greg yelled.
Some people were about to leave, but Stingray stopped them. "Okay, relax. Hey, guys! Hey, hey! You don't have to leave! It's fine. He's my neighbour."
Stingray looked at Greg. "Hey. What are you doing here? You weren't invited. You should leave right now."
Greg gestured to Stingray. "Okay, no one listen to this speed bump of a human. This is a loser, everyone. He's partying with you because he has no friends his own age."
Stingray glared at Greg. "Okay. I warned you, but you just had to push it and make it personal."
Greg pulled out his cell phone. "I did, Stink-Ray. And you know what I'm doing right now? I'm going to start pushing these buttons, and I am going to call the cops."
Stingray grabbed Greg's arm and twisted it.
"Ow!" Greg yelled.
Stingray took the phone from Greg.
"It's not Stink-Ray. Also, this is really going to sting." Stingray put his hand on Greg's shoulder. He kneed Greg in the stomach. Greg groaned.
"So is this." Stingray kicked Greg in the face.
"Oh!" The crowd exclaimed.
"Did you see that?" A girl asked.
Stingray turned the music back on. "Party on."
The crowd cheered.
"Stingray, Stingray, Stingray, Stingray!" The crowd chanted.
Stingray did a front kick.
Anthony was in his room.
Daniel sighed as he walked into Anthony's room.
"Hey. Look, I know this suspension and the no screens thing sucks, but not as much as it sucks to be bullied, so I hope you understand why these consequences are necessary. We're trying to help you to grow into the person we know you are, Anthony. I know it has been crazy around here this last little while. That’s on me. This tournament stuff made me lose focus on the things that are most important." Daniel said.
"Actually, I'm…Uh, I'm looking forward to the tournament. You know, I hope you guys win. Okay? Screw Cobra Kai." Anthony said.
Daniel exhaled.
"Well, on that we can agree." Daniel said.
Daniel was about to walk away, but he stopped when he heard a faint chime.
"What was that?" Daniel asked.
Daniel sighed. He walked up to Anthony.
"We said no more screens. Are you hearing anything we're saying to you? Give me that, Anthony." Daniel ordered.
Anthony's tablet was under his blanket. Daniel grabbed it.
"It's not even an iPad. It barely has games. This doesn't count!" Anthony yelled.
Enraged, Daniel snapped the tablet in half over his knee.
"Dad, are you insane? Do you know..." Anthony trailed off.
“Quiet!" Daniel yelled.
Anthony flinched.
"You're going to learn to listen to us and do as you're told, and if you don't, you'd better strap yourself in for a rough ride, because I am done playing games with you. Do you understand me?" Daniel asked.
"Yes." Anthony said.
"You'd better." Daniel walked out of the room.
Sam was in Stingray's backyard. She made her way to the keg. She kicked off her shoes and put some beer in a cup. She turned around and saw Tory standing behind her.
"Seems like you're always behind me in line. First Miguel. Now Robby. I have a half-eaten cupcake in there if you want some." Sam spoke smugly.
"You know, I'd kick your ass, but I promised your mom that I wouldn't." Tory said.
"Stay the hell away from my family." Sam told Tory.
Tory took a step towards Sam. "Sorry. I don't take orders from tiny little bitches."
Sarah and Eli were in the kitchen. They started to refill their cups. They were standing next to a window and could see Sam glaring at Tory.
"This is not going to end well," Sarah muttered.
Sarah set her cup aside and made her way to the backyard.
Eli set his cup aside and followed Sarah.
Sam set her cup aside. She kicked Tory in the stomach, causing Tory to stumble backwards. She ran towards Tory and tried to punch her, but Tory blocked the punch. She ran towards Tory and tried to punch her several times, but she blocked the punches. She kicked Tory in the side, causing Tory to gasp in pain. She tackled Tory.
"Oh!" Several of Sam's classmates exclaimed.
Sam pinned Tory to the ground and raised her fist.
Miguel ran out of the house.
"Sam, stop!" Miguel yelled.
Miguel took off his blazer.
Miguel grabbed Sam's arm and pulled her away from Tory.
"What are you doing?" Miguel asked angrily.
"What Johnny said! Not taking her shit anymore!" Sam yelled.
Tory stood up.
Tory kicked off her shoes.
Tory ran towards Sam.
"No!" Miguel yelled, running up to Tory.
Miguel wrapped his arms around Tory's stomach and carried her away from Sam. Tory tried to free herself from his grip. This resulted in them falling. He landed on top of her.
Miguel and Tory stared at each other. Sam noticed this. She was not happy.
"Get off of me!" Tory yelled.
"No!" Miguel yelled.
Tory tried to get Miguel to let go of her, but it didn't work.
"Let me go!" Tory yelled.
"Stop!" Miguel yelled.
Robby ran out of the house.
"Get off of her!" Robby yelled.
Robby took off his blazer.
Robby ran up to Miguel.
Robby grabbed Miguel's arm and pulled him away from Tory.
Robby tried to punch Miguel, but Sam ran up to him and grabbed his arm.
Sam twisted Robby's arm, causing him to groan.
"You think I broke your heart? You broke mine too!" Sam yelled.
Tory crawled towards Sam and swept Sam's legs out from under her.
"Oh!" Several of Sam's classmates exclaimed.
Robby approached Tory. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him.
Miguel approached Sam. He grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him.
Sam ran towards Tory. Robby and Tory grabbed each other's forearms, and then he spun her around. Tory jumped and kicked Miguel and Sam, causing them to fall. Robby spun Tory around again.
Miguel and Sam stood up.
Miguel got in a fighting position.
Robby got in a fighting position.
Sam got in a fighting position.
Tory got in a fighting position.
Miguel tried to kick Robby, but Robby blocked the kick. He tried to punch Robby, but Robby ducked.
Sam tried to punch Tory, but Tory blocked the punch.
Miguel tried to punch Robby, but Robby blocked the punch. He grabbed Miguel's arm and forced him to get on his knees. He put his hand on Miguel's throat.
"You think my dad cares about you? He's just trying to make himself feel better for screwing up with me!" Robby yelled.
Robby's hand left Miguel's throat. Miguel kneed Robby in the stomach. Robby grabbed Miguel's shoulder, and then he spun him around and pushed him towards Sam and Tory. This resulted in Miguel, Sam, and Tory falling into the pool.
Several of Sam's classmates cheered.
Stingray made his way to the backyard.
"Oh, we're jumping into the pool?" Stingray asked.
Stingray laughed. "This is the greatest night of my life! Cannonball!"
Stingray jumped into the pool.
Several of Sam's classmates jumped into the pool.
Tory swam to the edge of the pool and looked at Robby. "Wow, you managed to stay dry. Can you help me out?"
Robby knelt down and held his hand out to Tory. She grabbed his hand and pulled him into the pool. She laughed.
Robby splashed Tory. She yelled happily. He laughed.
Sarah walked to the edge of the pool. She knelt down and held her hand out to Sam. As soon as Sam grabbed her hand, she pulled Sam out of the pool.
Eli walked to the edge of the pool. He knelt down and held his hand out to Miguel. As soon as Miguel grabbed his hand, he pulled Miguel out of the pool.
"What was that?" Sam asked Miguel.
"Tonight was supposed to be for you and me. You ruined it!" Miguel yelled.
"Why are you taking her side? The same reason you've been staring at her all night?" Sam asked.
Miguel scoffed. "Let's not talk about the moment you had with Robby, huh?"
"I want to go home." Sam said.
"Me too." Miguel said.
Miguel put his blazer back on.
Sam put her shoes back on.
Eli, Sarah, Miguel, and Sam made their way to Eli's car. Eli got in the driver's seat. Sarah got in the passenger's seat. Miguel and Sam got in the backseat. Eli started the engine.
After taking Sam home, Eli drove to Sarah and Miguel's apartment complex.
Miguel spoke. "Bye."
Eli spoke. "Bye."
Miguel got out of Eli's car.
Sarah gave Eli a peck on the lips. "Bye."
"Bye." Eli watched as Sarah got out of his car.
Eli drove away.
Sarah and Miguel stood outside of her and Johnny's apartment. The door was open.
Sarah and Miguel walked through the door.
"Sensei, do you have a second to talk? I've been having a really rough night. You around?" Miguel asked.
Miguel took off his blazer and tie. He put his tie on the table. He hung his blazer on the back of a chair.
Sarah and Miguel heard Johnny groaning. They looked around the living room. The TV was on the floor. It was broken. Johnny was lying with his face turned towards the floor. Empty beer bottles surrounded him.
Sarah and Miguel rushed to Johnny's side.
"Dad, what happened? Why did you drink so much?" Sarah asked.
"Old man can kick," Johnny slurred, turning to face Sarah and Miguel.
"I don't know what that means. Let's get you up. Come on." Miguel wrapped one of Johnny's arms around his shoulder and helped Johnny stand up. As he guided Johnny down the hallway, Johnny incoherently sang a song from the 1980's.
Sarah walked into Johnny's room and watched as Miguel lowered Johnny onto the bed.
Johnny groaned when his back made contact with the mattress.
Johnny's legs were hanging over the side of the bed.
"Put your legs up. There you go." Miguel grabbed Johnny's legs and put them on the bed. He took off Johnny's shoes. He saw that Johnny had a beer bottle in his hand.
"Hey, hey, hey! No, no, no!" Miguel yelled, taking the bottle from Johnny.
Beer got on Miguel's shirt. He wiped the beer off of his shirt.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Johnny said.
"You're fine. I was already wet." Miguel said.
"Me too. From pee." Johnny chuckled.
"Gross. Okay, look…Um, you're good here. I'm going to bed. We can talk in the morning." Miguel was about to walk away, but Johnny grabbed his arm.
"Wait, wait, listen, listen." Johnny sighed. "I want...I want to be a father to you, son. I really do. I try to protect you. I try to be there for you. I just suck at it. I really suck at it. But I want to so badly."
Tears formed in Miguel's eyes.
"You're doing just fine. I love you," Miguel whispered.
Tears formed in Johnny's eyes. "I love you too, Robby."
Miguel walked out of the room.
"Miguel, wait!" Sarah yelled as she chased Miguel.
Miguel grabbed his tie and blazer, then he walked towards the door.
"He was drunk. He didn't…"
Before Sarah could say "mean it", Miguel closed the door.
Robby and Tory walked out of the pool.
Robby grabbed his blazer.
Tory grabbed her shoes.
Robby and Tory walked towards the car Terry let them borrow. Robby got in the driver's seat. He hung his blazer on the back of his seat. Tory got in the passenger's seat. She put her shoes on the floor. Robby started the engine and drove to a carnival. He found a parking spot.
The lights from the carnival painted Robby gold and green.
Tory's dress clung damply to her skin. The pool water had washed the curls out of her hair and the makeup from her face.
"That hook kick was awesome. Did you throw that blind?" Robby asked.
"I could throw that in my sleep, but I think the highlight of my night was still your dance moves." Tory said.
Robby chuckled. "Thanks. It's a good thing we practiced that twirl. It came in handy."
"I still can't believe Sensei Silver let us borrow this car." Tory said.
"Yeah, I know. I've got to return it tomorrow, though, so..." Robby trailed off.
"Same with this." Tory reached into her dress and showed Robby the tag.
Robby laughed. "Nice!"
Tory laughed.
"Hopefully, it's all dry by then." Tory tucked the tag back into her dress.
"I guess we should get our money's worth." Tory said.
Robby leaned forward. He put his hand on Tory's cheek. Their lips connected. After a few seconds, she pulled away from him. She got out of her seat and sat in his lap. Their lips connected again.
The next morning, Daniel and Amanda were shocked to find Anthony voluntarily taking out the trash. He admitted that he was wrong to bully Kenny. He said things got out of hand. He offered to help out at the dealership or the dojo. Amanda credited Daniel's "Miyagi-Do magic" for turning Anthony around. Daniel reluctantly admitted it was Johnny's influence that did the trick.
At the Cobra Kai dojo, a drunken Terry brooded over his dispute with Kreese. Stingray walked in, hoping to rejoin Cobra Kai. Seeing an outlet for his frustrations, Terry attacked Stingray.

DF S2E2 Things You Missed
Or that I'm obsessed with.
First, a retraction: Having rewatched the first season more closely, I realized Ray figured out a similar solution/plot in a convoluted stream of consciousness of not really connected but loosely connected ideas on his own in S1E23, just as he did last episode. This can probably be considered a new established formula and running joke in the series (at least they're acknowledging Ray's intelligence more).
On to the new stuff!
Ray finally wore JORTS. Silly.
This is only the second or third time Ray has used the "Danger Force, ASSEMBLE" line. (A MCU reference).
Bose has to wear a baby harness to an amusement park.
Ray is such a capitalist. Despite having unlimited wealth (I assume, through the city's budget for superheroes), he is so stingy.
And Miles is such an anti-capitalist! I adore his leftist rants. Too few and far between, but I guess they pack more weight that way.
This is the first time anyone has stopped and waited patiently for Miles to process his vision (and make sure he's not drained/shaken by them). Makes sense it would be his sister, but its still progress. I expect everyone to start doing the same (*wags finger warningly*).
Among Us references. Ugh.
Schwoz in his boxers is a reference to some old movie, but more importantly a repeated joke that Jasper was given in S4E19 (pretty sure that one). Which just reminds me of how good of friends those two were!
Even though Ray 'yells' at him/hurts his feelings, when Bose gets scared he turns to Ray and is visibly shaken by not understanding what's going on. (Again, reminiscent of Jasper, but the mentorships are slightly unique.)
Needles get bigger every time. Cute.
*Wait a minute! Schwoz recommended the blood test. Don't gaslight Ray! Also, I knew it wasn't Schwoz because he did his science thing. And it can't be Ray because, well, no one can mimic Ray.*
"I like it when they run." A callback to Piper's line in S5E15 I Dream of Danger (and recalling Ray/Piper's mentorship).
"Ray-by" - why is he so cute? Also, pinball/victory dance.
1000 rooms in the Man's Nest is a lot. But more so what I would have expected from the Man Cave and reminds me of, say, the Tardis. Unrealistic, but now there's infinite possibilities to build new sets and explore the Man's Nest further in future episodes (without relying on the four or so new ones we see in this episode). It's always cool to explore the living spaces of MCs.
Ray...speaks another language? Fluently?! (Good job Cooper!) So does Miles (at least a farewell)? We're just now bringing this up? (Also, Chopa needs to speak more Spanish, conversationally. And everyone being bilingual, at least partly, kind of makes Bose learning 3, or however many in the quarantine special, a little less impressive.) Alternatively, if Mika can learn French or multiple European languages, the whole team would be able to act as translators for half the damn globe! They could go anywhere!
Unfortunately, RT being in Helper Monkey probably should have been obvious. I definitely didn't catch any of it on the first watch.
Does Ray wear the antlers the entire time? How annoying for filming.
They are not being held prisoner. They are in jail because they're criminals/mutations that would scare and/or terrorize the town. They're at the Man's Nest because Ray's lazy, so they don't overcrowd the Swellview prison and they are more contained by Scwhoz's tech. It's that gray area you work in as a vigilante superhero. Keep up Chopa (whose back and forth mood swings between wanting to be good and wanting to act morally questionable give me whiplash and prevent her from being my favorite; although my theory is they make her swing back and forth to prevent her from being too much like Max Thunderman's character; or maybe they're just trying to write her as complex?).
I don't judge you darling, I'm all for it. But also, 'just in case', lmao. Great line delivery.
I was going to say, hey eating is Ray's schtick, but then he came back and shoved the piece of cake in his mouth, so we're good.
As an unrelated aside, I had the epiphany of, how many African American twin teenagers could there possibly be in Swellview? Meaning that if Miles and Mika are going around telling civilians they are twins in uniform, it would be fairly easy to narrow down their real identities if one wanted to. However, that gets thrown out the window with Chopa barely covering her face as she walks past the video cameras and dies her hair RED! How many Hispanic teenage girls in Swellview have the reddest red hair possible? Loopholes! what secret identities?
Also, also: It makes me sad that the only kid who doesn't have a unique, banter-filled mentor/sibling-like/cool, older uncle relationship that I can point to with Ray is Mika. She's kinda trying to fill in for the role of 'mom' in the group but, due to her age, it doesn't always land (for me). So instead, she just kind of scolds Ray (which everyone does) and continuously brings up her intelligence. I just hope that as the seasons drone on the two can find common ground.
Bandages on the necks. (continuity)
No one is going in the trash rocket!! (And I thought we ran out last episode?)
Chest Monster saying Scooby Doo's catch phrase + the SD chase sequence in the hallway.
The Hybristophiliac in me is being fed by this episode (if you're under 21, don't google that ;)~). Go off Ray! (Also, I think this episode tracks with Ray's trajectory for getting increasingly more vigilante in nature and more violent in his tendencies/proceedings with villains. That, or he really does hate Drex.
There is nothing 'dad bod' about Ray (nothing wrong with one though). They are dad clothes though. Again, I'm not mad, it's just facts.
I super appreciate that cut back to Ray's reaction after Chopa blows Drex away. Just showing how proud he is of his wards.
I already bragged on how much I love seeing each kid face Drex and win!
They had that actor monkey doing all sorts of stuff this episode. I hope he got all the treats! And everyone on set was nice to him.
Cooper flexing in the scene with Rick Twittler is just silly. Stop trying to one up the villains! You're distracting me from the plot!
Also, Chest Monster is a part of this family now. He's my favorite, forget everyone else.
Another cardio joke! And yet, these two guys are the most fit people on the planet, what gives!
MIKA GETS A SUPERHERO LANDING BECAUSE SHE'S A SUPERHERO!!!!
Sending all of the school up to space (where it would realistically disintegrate) is a little dramatic, but makes for a good visual.
Theory time! I know this is late, and the new episode is tomorrow, but I have speculations to get out!
Of all the directions I expected this special to go A) I didn't realize Henry wouldn't show up until the tail end of part 3 or part 4 (he'll be in like 3 scenes, what gives? Why hype it so?) and B) I could never have called going to space. Ray's line confirming they're heading to space seemed a little unnecessary/forced. I assume Schwoz will get them back to earth?
Drex: I mentioned in the last post how Drex feels severely underpowered this episode/special. I think from a production standpoint, this is because he was the big bad in Henry Danger. Henry had to overcome Drex and save the world to reach his full potential as a superhero/character. Rt was too, but he only appeared once whereas Drex was a rule of 3 situation. RT is meant to be a big bad in Danger Force's canon. Drex is only a minion/distraction and minor threat, so he's easier to defeat. From a canon perspective, I think the fact there are more superheroes and they all have powers that they can now control for the most part means they can handle Drex pretty well. This is still no excuse for the continuity error confusing whether Drex recovered his indestructibility or not (I'm certain he should have it, but I suppose the kid's powers are long distance and bypass it?).
Part 3: Part 2 almost felt like an extended episode. There were so many scenes, and character moments, and new things learned (the Man's Nest), and it moved the plot along. Especially if Henry doesn't show up to somehow bring the group back to earth, I really hope Part 3 doesn't feel like a filler episode. The first two have been great, so hopefully the momentum doesn't slow down until after the special.
Format: I guess we're dropping Mika as our omniscient narrator/main character? I loved having her be in the know and narrating in past tense (and bringing importance to her character). It told us bad things were coming but also that everyone (or at least Mika) survived. Without the narrator, the audience is in the dark, we don't know if everyone survives, and it makes it harder to theorize what will happen in the last two episodes :( . The format totally changed between parts 1 & 2.
Villain team up: Rt is smart but has no brawns. He needs Drex to fill in the role of fighter (even if he has an army of upgraded viruses). There are more superheroes, so there needs to be more villains for the kids to face. I hope there's a purposeful villain team up and a big show down rather than Drex getting a 'redemption arc' because he's stuck with the group and has to help them return to earth. We've been through so much with Drex that I'm hoping he doesn't suddenly turn 'good'.
*Ray: Remember how I said 'no one can mimic Ray'? I still think this is true. Ray/Cooper is pretty in it in the final scene and is acting normally. However, both times I watched the episode, it bugged me to no end that he went from trapped in the cell with no way out to in full uniform coming up the tube. We don't see him released/escape, or blow a bubble. Just a hard cut away from his character and then he appears in a new scene with the kids. Speaking excuses that can't be proved because the audience doesn't see it happen.
We know RT is returned to his own body by the end. I don't think RT is possessing Ray. Unless, he can divide his consciousness into multiple places/beings (like Ultron in the MCU) or RT has made 'smarter' viruses that can mimic people/not appear outwardly like viruses. Again, I don't think this is the case. I think this would be too confusing for a kid's show to make Ray 'bad' without context and in such a sneaky form. Maybe they ran out of time at the end of the episode and just had to get Ray into the main room.
But, I don't think it's an accident that earlier in the episode Ray was gaslit by the kids. Mika and others claimed it was Ray who suggested the blood test to find Rick when it was blatantly Schwoz who did. Mistakes can happen in script and continuity errors are not always caught, but this seems like a big one that is blatantly thrown into the script to cause confusion for the kids/audience. Ray was not affected by RT at this point in time because he hadn't had contact with Rick. However, once he goes down into the dungeon and is trapped in the cell, he is left alone with Rick for an extended period which would be the perfect opportunity for Rick to mind control/possess Ray in some fantastical way. I think that if this was a smarter show, Ray would be possessed/controlled by RT in some way to distract the kids and keep Danger Force in space. So if this does manage to happen in some convoluted way, and say, Ray and Drex team up as villains to distract Danger Force, remember I called it here first!
Your word for the day is convoluted because of course the show is! Send me asks if you have your own theories for where the special is going and/or how it'll end! What has been your favorite part so far?

— — — — —
It was fun to think that Five never had an equal opponent, someone as smart, canny, sarcastic and ironic as he. Five Hargreeves was always used to being the smartest person in the room, always being the one with the quickest response on the tip of his tongue.
And, well, it was fun to think that it all went up in the air when you showed up.
You were cruelly intelligent, able to correct errors in Five's math equations, sarcastic and always had a cheeky smile on your face. You weren't used to being underneath, which is why when Five wanted to show that he was better than you, well, you wouldn't give up.
But unlike the time traveler, you didn't have super powers, you weren't extraordinary, you didn't have any skills, but that didn't stop you from being equal to him in every other way.
Whenever Five wanted to come out on top with the argument that he had powers and you didn’t, you raised an eyebrow, looked at him as if he had made a basic math mistake, and said: “I don’t need powers, I’m a genius, you should try to be one too.” And it made him furious, and, truth be told, you just liked to tease him too.
But just as the two of you had personality differences, the ability to handle emotions and people well was different from Five. You were kind, funny and wanted to make people comfortable around you. Being a genius didn't mean you shouldn't be a nice person, and Five usually forgot about it.
As you and Five spent more time together, it became clear that you two were no longer able to stay away from each other. Five liked (secretly) to have someone to really talk to. Someone that understood and followed his line of reasoning, that understood the equations he did, and that considered him a genius instead of crazy with some reasoning.
Being with you was like, for Five, meeting another human being in a dog-only world, and when he kind of told you that in other words, you laughed out loud and said: “Or how to find an equal sign in an equation.” And that's when he felt his heart pounding for you.
Five remembered when you beat him in chess for the first time, no one had ever done it before, and he agreed to play with the full awareness that he was going to win again. Well, that is not what happened.
When you checkmate his king, Five was stunned. He leaned over the board, looking at the pieces as if they had created a head. And you laughed, leaned back in your chair in a victorious smile.
“This is impossible.”
“it's actually just intelligence, why don't you use it now and then?” You were kidding, it was obvious, you couldn't stand hurting people and Five knew it. The dynamics of the two of you who were exchanging barbs.
“You must have stolen or something, this is very much your style” He returned, eyes on you as you laughed “Let's play again and I will give you a the most brutal defeat.”
“Well the probability of that is 0, but you go ahead” You accepted, first because you wanted to show that you would beat him as many times as possible, and second because there was nothing you liked more than spending time with Five.
The matches started, and you won every time. And when the sunset and the breeze was cold, you and Five looked at each other, with the peach rays of the sun illuminating their faces, and the mutual smile they gave out sweetly.
He were really enjoy the game and you knew that, and he knew you not just want the victory. You two know Just more matches would make you spend more time together. And... Five didn't remember if anyone ever really engaged in a game just to want to be around him.
But things really got more real and serious when Vayna asked you to go to one of her violin performances too. And, well, you wore a long, red dress, firm in all the right places, and Five couldn't get his eyes off you just one second.
It was as if, when he saw you, all the equations in his life had been solved. And a single thought rang in his mind: “I want her”
And the certainty of that was absolute. He wanted you as an overwhelming force, which shook his whole body. He needed you like needed oxygen. And there was no way to deny that anymore.
But it all happened in a fraction of a second, and you had just chosen that moment to approach him and ask:
“So, how am I look? Are you going to make a little joke about berries or something?” You laughed.
But Five could think of nothing but that if there were the personification of sin and perfection, it would be you. He looked at you as a whole, a fucking beautiful woman with a fucking brilliant mind. You are incredible and he had no other adjectives for you.
“Wow- you look… amazing.” You felt all the intensity and truth in that sentence, and your heart pounded in your chest.
For, truth be revealed, you had dressed up for him. Because wanted him to think you were beautiful. Because you thinking him were a young God with all the vigor and beauty.
Five really wanted to focus on anything but you. Not In the swing of your body, in the outline of your lips, in how he wanted to put you out of that dress. He really tried. But his eyes were always drawn to you at the end of the effort, as if you were the only thing worth seeing.
“You’re staring again.” Luther whispered in his right ear, while Five kept his eyes on you for a moment that seemed to him seconds, but to Luther it was hours.
But who could blame him? You looked like a mirage, too beautiful to be true. And Five wanted to record every detail of it in memory.
“Take care of your life!” He replied, taking his eyes off you.
After that night, Five already knew that he could no longer keep his hands off you. He couldn't just look at you anymore when the hunger to touch you started to hurt physically. As soon as you got back to the mansion, he grabbed you by the wrist, in a strong, firm grip, and pulled you with him as he climbed the stairs towards his own room.
Five needed you. A kiss, a caress, a body-to-body contact, anything, he just needed it. And it had to be now, he not wait for you to go home and come back later, he couldn't wait days...damn it! He couldn't wait seconds!
Then he knocked and locked the door behind you when you entered the his room.
“What the hell?” You rubbed your wrist that he must not have measured how much firmly him hold you “You're acting like a nut and I thin ...”
But Five didn't give you time to continue. He couldn't give you time. He could not explain something that for him was still a mess. So he showed you.
Five came to you in big, determined steps, and he fit your face in his hands before tilting and sticking his lips to yours. And then the world seemed to make sense for the first time.
Everything was suspended. The people, the rotation of the earth, the wind, the noise of the streets. Everything went into a black hole and was no longer important. The only thing that really mattered was you. And Five kissed you until the oxygen was strictly necessary.
“I have been waiting for this for some time.” You confessed, and Five blew out a low laugh, answering you with another kiss that ended up taking you to a bed and messy sheets.
After that night, Five became more attached to you, and the relationship grew stronger over the weeks.
“You know this is wrong, right?” You said as you took a look at the equations he had made that afternoon.
Five looked at you with a frown, irritation in his eyes, but you were trying to contain your laughter.
“You have nothing else to do no?”
“Besides seeing your accounts wrong? No.” You had fun, taking one of the white chalk Five was using and erasing an equation from it, redoing it in the right way.
You could feel his gaze on your back, but you did your best not to laugh and return the chalk complacently.
“Now it's right.”
Five looked at the account you redid, and gave you an expression of so few friends that you couldn't control your laughter anymore.
And his expression closed even more. You shook your head and were already on your way to the door when when you heard him mumbling:
“I love you. You enormously stubborn pain in the ass.”
Then you laughed even harder and turned to Five, who had been doing his math again on the walls of his room.
“I heard that!”
“You were supposed to!” He countered without even waiting a second, and then you came back towards him, the laughter still present in your voice, your eyes full of play and love.
You put your arms behind his waist, still with the remnants of laughter coming from yours lips, and leaned your head against his broad back.
Five felt and heard your laughter, and then controlled himself not to laugh too, before giving yours hands that were hugging his waist a few gentle pats.
“You are unbearable.” You mumbled, but full of love overflowing with the words “But I love you.”
Then Five laugh came and he exchanged pats for an affectionate affection on yours hand, signaling that he also found you unbearable, but that he loves you.
