It was a late late evening, on the last train of the night towards manchester, the British countryside plunged into darkness that appeared as a blank, black canvas out the rounded-rectangular windows. 

And although the serene surroundings were calming, the regular and rhythmic movement of the carriage on the tracks - you were more on edge. Your relationship with Tom had yet to be revealed to the world - though you’d travelled as part of his extended entourage before under the guise of a ‘family friend’. So now it just being you, Tom, Harry, Andrew and Rachel - you felt more exposed. Of course, you were incredibly grateful that Tom had planned this weekend away for the two of you (after a work commitment, hence the presence of his manger, makeup artist and Harry). But it was scary.

Coming out of Euston station, the earlier time meant the train had been more of a hive of activity. Kids running up and down the aisle, inevitably recognising Tom and then asking for a photo. Enough that you’d had to move a few seats down the carriage, so no one would associate you travelling with the a-lister. 

But after you’d past Birmingham and the clocks past eleven pm, everything had quietened down and Tom convinced you to come and sit next to him on the table of four.  Andrew and Rachel were taking use of their little duo seat across for you to catch up on some well needed beauty sleep. They’d all been working with Tom doing promo for his most recent movie in London so it’d been pretty 24/7.

That left you, with all the energy, contrasting greatly with the two flagging Holland boys. 

“Lets play heads up!” You announced to the much less enthusiastic faces round the tables. 

“You can’t play that quietly and the whole carriage dont want to listen to you screeching.” Harry rolled his eyes whilst slightly ripping into you, then picking up his phone - thinking that would shut you up.

“I can play quietly!” You huffed, looking for Tom for backing… which never came. He didn’t even need to try and defend himself before you whacked his chest in false-annoyance. 

“ It’s not a bad thing, just passion.” Tom murmured, desperately attempting to sweet talk your round - which of course, was not going to happen. 

“No way! I’ll prove it to you!” 

“Nonono darling, look I’m tired.” He straight refused, wrappings his arms round your shoulders to try and cage you in. He ended up with his back pressed against the window and your back against his chest. “Lemme just relax with my best girl.”  You huffed in reply, worming round in his clutch before eventually giving up and relaxing your head onto his collar bone. For the reasons previously mentioned, you did not for a second believe he was serious with this PDA. Just sitting next to each other was risky enough,  now he was very clearly hugging you in a public place. Arching your neck back, you were shocked he already had his eyes shut - looking perfectly contented and relaxed. 

“T, are you serious?” You whispered, making him crack one eye open with a questioning look. Instantly he knew what you meant, I mean, it was him that was most worried about people finding out about you - for your sake. His horror stories of previous relationships hadn’t helped, to the point now only your mum dad and siblings knew about your relationship to Tom - mainly for the sole reason your nan was the biggest gossip in the world and could NOT be trusted. 

“Course love, it’ll be fine no ones around and I got my cap on. No one will notice us.”

Foolproof. Or so you both thought. 

And honestly for an hour or so you relished in the fact that in a public space, your boyfriend was showing you physical affection. It was exciting, which meant as Tom’s arms grew lax round you as he slumped slightly in the chair your energy only increased. No one else was being any use either - Harry had his head in his arms on the table and similarly neither Rachel nor Andrew were conscious enough to keep you company. Finally you settled on playing a game on your phone whilst also ever so softly wiggling round on Tom’s chest, purely because you enjoyed the little huffs and the way he’d squeeze you tighter as he snoozed. 

You were engrossed in shitty little iPhone game when a person who was walking down the aisle slowed down, drawing your attention away from the phone. And then your heart literally dropped because you instantly recognised your uncle and cousin, who was 12. Worse though, they had most definitely clocked you. 

Of all people, your uncle and boy cousin too. Possible the best (or worst depending on your point of view) at winding you up, at messing  with you, for genuinely causing all chaos and mischief with you. They were most certainly not going to be discrete. They’d rib you till your dying day. 

“Y/n?” Your uncle spoke first, noticing the that the group you with all seemed to be asleep, so at least trying to be a bit sensitive. Not that it mattered on Tom’s part though, you instantly bolted up and away from him, making him groan as he slowly woke up. 

“Er yeh, I-um  fancy seeing you guys here. Why were you in London?” Because yes half your family did live in manchester - a fact you felt slightly guilty about, considering you couldn’t fit in a quick and explainable reason as to  why you were in that area of the UK during a ‘pop in’. So you’d chosen to keep the whole trip a secret too.

“We’ve been at the footie, could ask you the same question.” Your uncle smirked, noticing toward Tom, who now was blinking his eyes heavily - looking with furrowed brows between the two of you. 

Because yes, the cap had been great to stop people recognising Tom. Neither of you were to expect it’d be you that’d be YOU stopped by someone who noticed you. 

“Oh um… well er this is my friend Tom, he’s got a work thing in manchester so thought I’d tag along. What was the score?” Yes you described your boyfriend of 9 months as a friend, when it was clear to everyone you were more than that. Though frankly, you still felt sick introducing him as ‘boyfriend’ - that itself was cringe as hell. The reference to football was an in-vain attempt to distract them with the most-boring-sport-in-the-world talk. If only Tom had kept his mouth shut. 

“Sorry mate” His voice was a little hoarse, making him force a cough before stretching his hand out. “I’m Tom”

“Nice to meet you, I’m Ritchie and this is Matt” Your uncle motioned to his twelve year old son who was smiling politely but his expression seemed to drop as he made eye contact with Tom. Blissfully unaware, Tom shook Ritchies hand your a soft smile. 

“How do you guys-“

“I’m her uncle. Tell you what, didn’t imagine bumping into my niece on the 11:30 train to manchester.” 

Tom’s face fell and he froze. You’d both been caught out. Massively. It couldn’t get worse, till it did. 

“Y/n is that Spiderman?” Because yes, Matt was prime Marvel fanboy age. And yes, of course his favourite hero was Spiderman. And yes, this would probably be the most exciting day of his life. And the most embarrassing of yours. 

It was at this point Harry was sufficiently disturbed, enough to make him sit upright whilst also backing away into the corner of the booth, watching from afar.

“I-uh” You didnt really want to say it, for the sake of that meant he was revealing this secret you’d guarded with your life. But at the same time, you had this overwhelming sense of pride for Tom because “yeh, yes he is spiderman.” Matt started jumping up and down like an overexcited boyband fan which made you laugh, heart swelling as Tom chuckled along beside you.

Yes by no means was this ideal. And yes you were now forced to tell your family (so ultimately the world) about your relationship. Maybe that wasn’t so bad though?

I can’t dispute what you’ve said here, but I also think it doesn’t matter? If I said that I wanted Elain to live as a priestess, so what? If I said I want luzriel to happen (which I have headcanoned! check my tags!) so what? If I want Az to go fuck Rhys, what does it matter? That is literally the point of fandom, and I think a lot of you have forgotten that. There is fanfiction, and headcanons, and fanon for a reason. 

This place has turned into “who is the most right about canon and canon is the only real pure thing” place, and it’s annoying af.

All I know for sure is that 1) they said they don’t ship Elain and Az anymore because they think he was being gross, and 2) they mentioned the Mor + Eris mating bond theory which they didn’t start! They did NOT say they ship Mor and Eris, so right away I know people are twisting their words at least a little bit. Then I started watching Wandavision so idk about the rest of it.

And the age thing lololol did you know most people in the fandom rn are in their 20s and 30s? I think the average age of people in my bookclub, who all came from sjm tumblr, is early 30s? He hadn’t planned on staying. He really hadn’t. He’s only popped by the station to deliver some dinner for Lucas (his boyfriend had no sense of proper nutrition and Eliott was going to change that if it was the last thing he did!) and then he was going to go right back to Lucas’s – no, their place – to get back to work on his new painting series. He’d felt particularly inspired lately and wanted to take advantage. But the boys had been pulled out for a call just as Eliott had arrived and well… Isak was there, and Eliott much preferred his company over an empty apartment… and so, now he found himself in the TV room, sitting with the Tupperware spread between them on the couch, finishing up the dinner that had been meant for Lucas. He will admit it’s perhaps not the most boyfriend-y behaviour, but Isak had commented on how good it smelled and what a terrible cook Even was and… well… what was Eliott to do but take pity on the poor boy and share? Lucas was likely going to be out for hours anyways and it wouldn’t have been nearly as good reheated.

“Fuck,” Isak groans, throwing his fork into the container and leaning back against the arm of the couch, patting his stomach in either satisfaction or pain… maybe both. “Think I could pay you to bring me dinner here?”

Eliott smiles pleased, moving the container to the coffee table and pushing himself back against the opposing couch end. “Lucas always complains the stuff I make is too healthy.”

Isak scoffs, looking thoroughly offended on Eliott’s behalf. “That kid thinks anything that’s not pizza is health food.” He shakes his head. “I don’t know how you put up with him.”

“Well, I mean –”

“If you say something about your guys’ sex life,” Isak cuts him off with a hand raised, “I will kick you in the balls.”

Eliott laughs. “I was going to say I love him.” He scrunches his shoulders to his ears in something like a shrug. “Makes it pretty easy to put up with him.”

Isak sighs, but there’s a slight smile on his face. “Still don’t know how he managed that. Always thought that kid had some sort of voodoo magic going on – just figured he was using it to curse me… not find himself true love.”

Eliott feels the tips of his ears heat at the thought, and he laughs a little. “Well there is that doll under our bed covered in pins… always wondered why it was named Isak.”

Isak laughs. “Burn the witch!”

“Who’s a witch?” It’s Lucas at the doorway. Eliott’s face breaks into a smile at the sight. He couldn’t have been gone longer than a half hour.  

“That would be you, love.” Eliott beams at his boyfriend, “because of your magical powers.”

“Mmm,” Lucas hums, walking towards them on the couch. “Better have meant it as a compliment.”

“Of course,” Eliott answers at the same moment Isak scoffs, “Definitely not.”

Lucas passes Isak as though he’s not there, moving to Eliott’s end of the couch and much to Eliott’s shock and delight, immediately settling himself in his lap, legs bracketing his hips and arms moving to settle on Eliott’s shoulders, hands light in his hair. In doing so he has put his back directly to Isak, blocking Eliott’s view of the other boy. It’s with some amusement, and to the sight of Isak rising with an irritated sound and glare directed at Lucas’s back, that Eliott realizes this was likely intentional.

“I’m gonna go find Even.”

“You do that,” Lucas responds before Eliott can, not turning to acknowledge Isak at all. Eliott presses his lips together to hide his smile.

“It was cool to chill with you, Eliott,” Isak smiles, meeting Eliott’s eyes over Lucas’s shoulder. “Next time you bring dinner, include me in that delivery, yeah?”

Eliott laughs lightly, “Not like you missed out this ti–” His reply is cut off by Lucas’s mouth descending on his. It’s not a quick kiss. There’s nothing sweet or gentle about it in fact. It’s a hard, demanding press of lips. Lucas’s hands hold Eliott’s face tightly as he slants their mouths together. Eliott opens his mouth to meet Lucas’s tongue, grip tight on Lucas’s hips. Eliott hears Isak offer a parting remark he can’t quite hear over the Lucas Lucas Lucas reverberating in his brain.

Lucas pulls back after a few more moments with a teasing bite to Eliott’s lower lip. He keeps their faces close. “He’s such a dickhead.”

Eliott chuckles, moving to press a quick kiss to Lucas’s pouting lips before he answers. “He’s really nice to me.”

“Yeah,” Lucas agrees. “That’s why he’s a dickhead.”

“You’d rather he be rude to me?” Eliott tries to temper exactly how charmed he is by Lucas right now but that little wrinkle that’s formed between Lucas’s eyebrows is making it really difficult.

“No,” Lucas huffs. “Just want you to agree with me and tell me you think he’s the least attractive boy you’ve ever met.”

Eliott laughs. He can’t help it. It’s a full-bodied laugh and he pulls Lucas down and into him, wrapping him in a tight hug as he tucks Lucas’s face into his neck. “You’re ridiculous.”

“Am not,” Lucas protests, kissing the side of Eliott’s neck before turning his face to rest his cheek against Eliott’s chest.

“A ridiculous boy,” Eliott whispers, pressing a kiss to Lucas’s hair, hands running up and down his back. “Most beautiful, ridiculous boy I’ve ever met.”

Lucas hums happily, rubbing his face against Eliott in a way that thoroughly reminds Eliott of an affectionate cat. “Eliott?”

“Mmhmm?”

“Did you let Isak eat my dinner?”

Eliott’s hands freeze on Lucas’s body and he slowly turns his head in the direction of Lucas’s gaze… at the very empty Tupperware sitting on the coffee table. Uh oh. There’s clearly only one way to handle this.

Lucas raises his head slowly, eyebrow cocked, and gaze filled with challenge. Eliott rolls them. Right off the couch. Lucas lets out a startled cry as they land with a thump.

“What the –” Eliott doesn’t let him finish. Reconnecting their mouths in a kiss so filthy it has no place in a firehall… though perhaps there’s some jokes about an inferno to be made there… but in truth, this kiss should belong no place but in their bedroom. But risks must be taken in the name of distraction. And distraction is very clearly needed. He throws himself into it, kissing Lucas as though they’d been separated for months, by land and sea, war and sacrifice. When he pulls back, Lucas is a delightful, rumpled mess. Lips swollen and eyes glassy, he stares up at Eliott. Eliott waits. It’s the moment of truth.

“We’re ordering pizza when we get home.”

Eliott laughs, letting his face fall to Lucas’s neck, he presses a kiss to the mole he finds there, before raising his head to look at Lucas once more.

“Deal.”

And then they’re kissing again. It’s a small sacrifice to make in the name of appeasing a possessive Lucas. For tonight, nutrition can go out the window. But tomorrow? Tomorrow they’re eating salad.

uhh idk what’s the longest harry potter book bc probably that? i dont... read books that long usually

ummm i think and then there were none by agatha christie? i dont keep track by time tbh but i dont read that many old books bc i tend to have trouble reading them

oh the book thief for sure. everything leads to you made me cry a bunch while rereading it even tho its not sad? thos were love tears. that happens a lot actually.

Clarisse/Silena: Divine Slayer (i kinda love this name lol)
 -literally both a huge surprise and like also not a huge surprise when they became co-pilots
 -look guys they balance each other out okay Clarisse has got the force while Silenas got the moves (i know that’s not really how jaegers work but it’s just how they think of each other)
 -also Divine Slayer is def pink Silena would have it no other way she wanted to be a strong role model for strong girly girls like her 
 -clarisse let it slide bc 1)she loves silena hello? and 2)she hides it by saying it’s a light red
 -Silena has also painted flowers on both sides of the Conn-pod (i had to look up what it was called lmao) for her enjoyment and Clarisse lets it slide again :-) 
 -like i said earlier they were #1 with the merch and fans but then percy and annabeth came along with a newer model so they’re bumped to number 2
 -Silena couldn’t care as long as she still gets her clothing lines but Clarisse is p bothered but Silena calms her down :-) 
 -look u guys….. i feel like Silena might have to die in this au…like if it ever makes it into an actual fic w actual plot i think she’d die like super heroically like u know saving the world 
 -it’d be like the aussie guy in the movie like Clarisse would be unable to pilot w her bc she’d be injured so Silena would die but not Clarisse :c

-also they totally have matching tattoos most likely of Rosie the Riveter but i can’t think of one rn

 Leo -like i said earlier Leo is tech builder guy and works behind the scenes on every jaeger and has a strong attachment to them
-like of course the pilots name them but he can get offended if 1)they don’t take it seriously (rarely happens but they joke around sometimes) or 2)they give them a bad name
-leo straight up forbid Percy and Grover to name their jaeger Blue Cookies (which was a joke but i mean cmon if they could’ve they would’ve)

Frank -Frank’s mom was military and so was he before all the kaiju stuff went down
-at first he wanted to pilot but realized it’s way to impersonal for him (giant human robot vs giant alien =/= normal combat) so he becomes a trainer instead 
-bc he was in military before it started he was with the jaeger program like immediately so although he’s young he helped train most of the main characters :-) 
-he also helped Annabeth out w choosing pilots before she became one, now it’s his sole responsibility

Hazel -i think Hazel would be in the press loop with Grover, i mean she has a gentle soul so i don’t think she’d be a pilot (plus who would she be with?) 
-she’s not even mad like she’ll train w Frank and others some days to keep in shape if a pilot is needed stat and that’s all the fighting she needs cos it’s actually fun and not life or death (hi i think she’s afraid of death)
-also this way neither her nor Frank are on the field and although they’ll never say it they are both thankful for that small difference in safety
-also in this au ages are weird they’re all gonna be in their 21+ range so no weird age gap between them
