YEAGH. tomrey..... UMMM. well. Like I said ☝️ my AU my weirdly specific personal tommybeny dynamic.

This is also just kinda tied into my personal hlvrai canon thoughts but like. Ok. When Tommy was like..... probably a teenager..... Benry (a teen-aged Fucking Thing) escaped through a Crack in the fabric between the world of the living and the ghost realm and ended up meeting Tommy who was out on his first ghost bust.

Tommy's like. Pretty in-tune with ghosts and their presences/energies so he just kind of. Decided to befriend Benry on the spot and drag him around with him. I think Bubby and Coomer and Gman I think always. Kept an Eye On Benry because they figured out pretty quickly that Ben wasn't like..... a normal ghost and was some sort of entity.

But all that to say they were just always kind of casually affectionate with eachother to the point where I don't know If it ever was an official like. "Now We Are Partners" thing but it was just kind of like. They just kind of were always like that. Kissies and naps together and just generally joined at the hip. Tommy I think Knows what Benry is and is kinda trying to avoid talking about it for fear of something Happening to Benry.

TLDR they kind of grew up together and it was just a natural and casual progression of their dynamic. They're just kind of goofy I dunno

When the AU kicks off with the Resonance Crossrip, Tommy isn't on the bust where they capture Benry in the trap, otherwise he probably would've protested quite a bit lol.

DSWAP ZUZU 🥺 our darling Fusion weirdgirl.... i love her a lot

Been spending a lot of time lately mulling on the ways leo akaba treats the fusion yuboy/bgirl in this AU--they're both kind of trapped/forecfully detained, but while yugo practically gets locked in a box and only wheeled out to show the Professor's 'power over the devil,' meanwhile poor Zuzu gets treated like she's made of glass. She's effectively stuck in a walled garden on Duel Academy Island, so frustrated and desperate to prove herself--why can't she get to take part in hunting games too!! why cant she fight with her peers in the war everyone is preparing for!! what the fuck!!! >:( She's still good friends with Sora, and was on friendly terms with Fusion!Yugo for a long time (she'd often sneak into his dorm to give him new puzzles and toys confiscated off of new students) but as her opinions on the Duel Academy War Crimes start to shift shes starting to realize he's. kind of Terrifyingly Ferocious. <:( um.

anyway that frustrating is what ultimately ends up pushing her to sneak out and go to Standard, find a place with the Lancers (and oh also get her entire worldview rocked and challenged big and bad by Rin & co.) She's got regular Zuzu's passion and intensity but it's also channeled a bit more inward; this sort of perpetual buzz of energy just under her skin. she's truthfully Very Scared All The Time the second she's left DA but I feel like she's just kind of desperately trying to push past it, hoping people don't notice it. She ended up with a hare/rabbit motif the more we've developed her (helped by her Moon association with her deck (Lunalulls)... bunny moon moment...) which I think is just adorable 🐰

Her deck's full of flower ladies based on plants that bloom at night... and also poisonous plants <3 And RITUAL MONSTERS!! I kind of love the idea that once she's started to have her views challenged and starts seeing the harm DA caused, she starts using Ritual Monsters alongside her Fusion aces. Peak "weird girl making concoctions and brews." I think we called one "Mandragora, the Lunalull Night Terror" and it's just a fucking flower werewolf monster lol

When she gets to Standard she also ends up developing a rivalry with Julia/Masumi and being just absolutely transfixed by her--who is this girl using Fusion summons so completely different from the way Academia teaches them!! How does she know that!!! Julia's a member of the Lancers in this AU (thank god) and well maybe their rivalry and dynamic starts to slide into a little toxic yuri, as a treat ❤ (this ends up being a bit critical in the. uh. complete city-block leveling explosive fallout zuzu has with yugo later on when the Lancers descend upon the Fusion dimension. but that's it's own kettle of fish.)
