Hello, beautiful soul! Recipe share time! It's when I share healthy, delicious recipes so you can uplevel your nutrition, enjoy new tastes and experiment with different ingredients. Today, it's truly a treat with these Mini Sweet Potato Chicken Pesto Pizza! Whew! That is quite a mouthful! This recipe is gluten-free as we don't use the usual pizza dough. Instead, we substitute healthy sweet potatoes! Sweet potatoes are an excellent source of: - complex carbohydrates - beta carotene (which we need to make Vitamin A and is also a powerful antioxidant) - fiber - - Vitamins C, B5, B6, E - Minerals Manganese and Potassium This recipe is simple to make and takes only 30 minutes to prepare! It's that time of the year for me to make applesauce. So super easy to make! This batch was made with 3 apples (2 Fuji and 1 granny smith), some water (around 1/4 cups), and lots of cinnamon powder. I loooove cinnamon powder! Boil in a small pot till apples are mushy. I blended the mixture while in the pot using an immersion blender. Then, scooped the applesauce into this jar. I think I'll use it for flour free banana pancakes and for smoothies. Hmmm...I'm also thinking of using it for a green mung bean dessert I'm concocting in my mind now, inspired by a green mung bean dessert I'd have in Beijing. I felt groggy and foggy when I got up this morning and felt that my usual Morning Sunshine Diffuser Oil Blend would not be enough to cut it. Being an intuitive, I closed my eyes and listened. Love savory breakfast? Then this recipe is for you! These Zucchini Pancakes are a healthier version of hash browns. They are also great for lunch or a light dinner. Besides being vegetarian, these pancakes are also gluten-free because it uses buckwheat flour instead of regular wheat flour. Buckwheat flour is made from grinding buckwheat groats, the triangular seeds of a flowering plant (Fagopyrum esculentum). Buckwheat is not at all related to wheat and is naturally gluten-free. The ingredients are fairly easy to find with the exception perhaps of buckwheat flour. If you don't have any gluten intolerance or allergy, just substitute all-purpose flour for buckwheat flour. You can also try oat flour. Just know that it won't form as well because of the absence of gluten in oats. NOTE: If you have Celiac Disease and want to use oat flour for this recipe, use gluten-free oat flour like the Bob's Red Mill brand. Although oats are naturally gluten-free, they are almost always processed in a facility that also processes wheat. So, cross contamination occurs. Oats that are labeled gluten-free mean that the oats were processed in a dedicated facility for products with no gluten. No wheat, rye or barley were processed in that facility. Enjoy this recipe! Want healthy habits to overwrite bad ones? Do it one step at a time. Small steps make a huge difference over the long run. First, decide on one health habit to work on. Then, just do that CONSISTENTLY. That is the key. Don't let more than one day slide by. If you fall off the wagon, just get up, dust yourself off and get back on again. No need to moan endlessly, berate or judge yourself. No need to overthink. Figure out what went wrong and make the necessary adjustments. Then, get back on track. Just doing this one thing 1% better everyday will compound to a world of difference in your health and life. Many of us fall into the trap that we want to do it all at once--have that transformation overnight. This kind of strategy hardly ever works. Let's take our cue from nature. Nature unfolds gently, little by little that you hardly notice anything happening. Like flower buds. Everyone knows smoking is bad for your health, but sometimes knowing isn’t enough to make you stop.
Set a date for quitting and tell as many people as possible to help hold you accountable for your actions. It's best to pick a day within the next month - a date too far off in the future will give you a chance to procrastinate and postpone, while a time too soon may not allow you to make a plan for medications or support systems.
Notice when and why you smoke. Try to find the things in your daily life that you often do while smoking (such as drinking your morning cup of coffee or driving a car).
Change your smoking routines: Keep your cigarettes in a different place — smoke with your other hand.
Take these steps toward a healthier you! If you need extra support, don’t hesitate to reach out.
